There are so few truly good restaurants in Bridgeport, which is unfortunate because anyone looking at yelp ratings of restaurants in Bridgeport would think it's the next Randolph Street. I don't get all the 4+ star reviews. Meh. I'll keep hope alive that Rocky will turn it around. But why should he? He has plenty of people who think he's doing a good job already. Oh well.

Just left Rocky's for the 3rd time in 2 days. The place is great! Lots of tv's, two bars, outdoor seating, and AMAZING Italian food. Bartenders have been super friendly and gave great service. Don't miss this place!!

One of the last few bars that lasted over the years in Bridgeport. It serves Guinness from the tap and the waitresses are professional (not to mention attractive) and you could see they have a team mentality and spirit. I have never seen any trouble or punks hanging out. The food is pretty good even though their menu is limited. The sausage and potato dish is killer. They frequently buy me my first drink and it is by far one of the best bars in Bridgeport. The summers are great there as they have an excellent beer garden with bean bags and all.

Close to the ballpark. Good appetizers, good service. Wings, calamari, sliders, fries all great.

Well this bar needs a make over in my opinion. The burger was good. If you enjoy prosciutto on your food you'll be happy. Potato salad is very good which offsets the lack of pleasantness from the bartender. The 312 was cold though. Nothing here would remind a person to come back unless you just live nearby and can walk home.

Came here to enjoy a few scotch n watch the houston rockets playoffgame (had to to ask them to switch to it, cmon guys its the playoffs =P ). 2 Bar layout and when I went during the week, had a "Cheers" kind of vibe (good for relaxing after a long day at the office). Parking is street and free. Haven't tried the food though many around were eating. Price for drinks seemed basic price 8 to 9$ for a black label on the rocks. Bartender was a looker (always helps right) though seemed to have dropped her cupcake in the morning, no smiles at all =D Not a bad joint overall. Would go back to try the food and watch a game after work.

I don't get some of the reviews of this place...snobs much? Attentive service and delicious food. A sports bar staple; particularly for the wonderful Chicago Blackhawks. Guess what, lazy ass...if the waiter/waitress is busy talking to the designated regulars... Get their attention! I don't know what fancy place you are used to frequenting...this is a fantastic neighborhood bar, with fantastic workers and fantastic food. Stop trying to make it something it isn't and chill out while you enjoy yourself. This is a great place where everyone can feel welcome.

Once spent an entire afternoon in this joint. Spent over $200.00 in here and the ignorant tattooed bartender never bought one drink. First and last time in this hell hole.

This place was awesome!!! I needed some late night eats and I was surprised at how fresh the caprese salad was. I wasn't expecting so much from a neighborhood bar late on a weekday but Rocky's surprised me. My onion rings were also delish and fresh (don't hate on the most random of combinations). I didn't even miss the southwestern ranch dip I usually crave when it's missing from the combination. They were great and I definitely recommend.

Came here today my second time visiting this place the service the second time was horrible it took the server 20 mins to greet me with a glass of water!!! I'm on lunch not leisure so now I have to inhale my food!!! I will not be coming here again I'm very irritated and pissed!!!The sever was very apologetic but she needs help!!!! Called here today to place an order for take out and I was told since I wrote a bad review on yelp they didn't want my business & was hung up on!!!! I'll make sure to let all my Facebook friends, employees, & business colleagues to never go to ROCKYS!!!

The food was cold, mediocre and they don't deliver drinks. I'm not talking alcoholic drinks, I'm talking Pepsi/Coke products, etc. If you want a drink with your meal, or food that is hot and taste good this is not the place.

Been here for drinks before and liked it. Decided to order take out and try the Mediterranean chicken salad. Chicken was well seasoned and the mix of salad went well with the house dressing. I will be back to try the other selections on the menu.

Ok, so, we're leaving McCormick place, and we're taking Lake Shore south exiting on 31st St., and we're starving. So, we stop at the first bar we find that serves food. It's Rocky's. I usually think of bar food and what comes to mind is burgers and fries, not a tomato basil burger served with sautéed potatoes, but that's what they had, and that's what I got. This is stepped up bar food with craft beer on tap. The bartender and regular patrons were friendly, as is the norm in Chicago. The menu is a treat just to read: artichoke crab cakes, sausage ravioli, and the tomato basil burger topped with tomatoes, basil, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto and balsamic glaze. Eat here, drink here, catch the game. This place is doing it proper.

I went to Rocky's because I had a taste for a gourmet hamburger and I knew that Rocky's has an Angus Burger on a Pretzel bun and that's about as gourmet as it gets in Bridgeport. The waitress asked if I wanted cheese on it and I said no. When the food arrived I noticed that there were 2 pieces of Mozzarella, prosciutto, some Basil leaves and a dark sauce on it. So I asked the waitress if this was the Angus Burger and she said yes it was. After taking a few bites I knew this wasn't a plain Angus Burger so I asked the waitress again if this was indeed the burger I ordered. She again said it was so I asked her if she normally asks people if they want cheese on a burger that already comes with mozzarella and basil leaves. Long explanation short she said it would come with both(?). When I received the check i looked at the placed order and it clearly read Tomato, Basil Burger. Bottom line is the waitress messed up the order but instead of admitting it she decided to stick with what her rendition of what an Angus Burger should be.

This place is great. I underestimated the quantity and quality of the food here! Their menu is amazing, and the food was great. I got the proscuito, cheese, and tomato sandwhich with a side of potato salad.. AMAZING. My friend got a burger and the other a salad, both plates were huge! The service here is also great. The girl behind the bar took our orders and brought out the food/drinks, she was also nice enough to tell us more about the city and other great areas to go to. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'm totally making a stop here.

Stopped in with some friends after passing this place up a few times. The food was great didn't expect this great menu from what I thought was just a bar. Over all great place, nice clean area and good service. My friend who is picky and never knows what to drink had some martini she feel in love with. Will definitely be coming here more often.

Memorial Day weekend wedding...blah blah blah As if that wasn't enough, there was a 4 hour intermission between the ceremony and the reception.......WHAT?! So we drove around until we found a nice looking place to grab a cocktail. We landed at Rocky's. Glad we stumbled upon this little gem. They had wonderful staff, and a great special, 5 imported beers for $12!! I'm all about that!! We had a couple man sodas and headed to the reception for a night full of dancing and humiliation :) Success.

Been here before quite a few times and I absolutely love the marinara sauce they serve with the cheese sticks. The mini sliders are decent too (depends on the chef and the night). This particular Monday night is sub par and that's putting it nicely. The bartender was working as both bartender and server/waitress so she gets minimal slack. If you hand someone a menu and they say they're ordering food or ask if the kitchen is open late, uh, that's the cue to give cutlery, napkins and condiments. She also lacked being attentive and ignored our other requests. It's Monday night, it's a sports bar and you have the game playing on all TVs. Play the game over the speakers. No excuse. This lady was off her game just like the Patriots. Lame. Hopefully, the next time I come she either won't be here, be in a better mood/spirits, or an altogether diff staff. Here's me crossing my fingers for the next time.

Wanted to do a private party there and person in charge. ( a woman ) did not bother calling back. Went in person and lady in charged was there sitting by bar talking like she had nothing to do. We let her know we were trying to book a party and kept calling and leaving messages but no reply from u! She then talked to us but some how she added that she was booked ! That was new info for us!! Hhmmmm strange!!!! Did she NOT want our business or did she not want us there. I felt like she was being racist. Too bad for them because we got money, and we were ready to spend some.

This place is shady. DO NOT dine here. If you run a tab they will add extra drinks on it for their friends and when you complain they don't care. Keep track of what you order. Also if you pay with a credit card the price they show you first is different than one you actually get charged. I have inquired about this but they refuse to respond to this credit card tax. This has happened to more people other than myself. I'm sure there is more but would you expect anything less from the canaryville/bridgeport area? I hear the place is up for sale anyway and soon to be closed. It's no wonder.

Found place by checking Yelp. We were just looking for a burger and o/rings. Walked in on a Sunday and the breakfast buffet was up. Asked if we could get a burger and Anna, the waitress was great. Sureee she said. Burgers and Onion rings were great. Bloody Mary's were good. Very clean. Staff was friendly. Plenty of TVs. I'd go back in a heart beat.

A bit of a letter downer, which was a bit of a shame, since it's so close to where I'm living now! They're a nice little sports bar, with a patio out back where I was seated with my party. There's a nice vibe out there, and we sat and enjoyed the breeze as we looked at the menu, which seemed quite varied and promising, and reasonably priced. On a recommendation, I tried the meatball sandwich with a potato salad (which I thought would be a nice change of pace from fries). The meatball sandwich ended up being on a rather crusty piece of stiff bread, marinara sauce wasn't really much to making the bread any less difficult to bite into. The meatball was rather salty, and the sandwich altogether dried out in my mouth rather quickly. The potato salad ended up being relatively bland and vapid. There really wasn't too much redeeming in the meal, unfortunately, though it was something to eat at least. When the bill came, while it wasn't necessarily their fault, the card machine stopped working, and when it comes to having not split a bill for a group of 8 students, having a non-functional card reader was a lot more of a headache for the group than I would have planned. Oh well.

Practically spent all summer here... I was staying at IIT during Institute this past June through the end of July and this lovely pace was a 10 minute walking distance from campus. During the late night weekends this place was always packed! it was great coming out and hanging out with everyone outside of a professional setting. If you're spending some time at IIT and would rather not catch a 45 minute train ride to Andersonville--- I would highly recommend Rocky's for the evening.

Rocky's has the potential but what a let down. I go with my date to watch the Bears vs. Broncos pre-season game looking for a good spot in Bridgeport. I've heard about the place and was excited to go, but was completely unhappy. We sat down only to find out that Rocky's, a sports bar, had no drink specials or a happy hour on a game night. I understand it wasn't a regular season game, but still no specials . . . come on. We started with the crab cakes and was disappointed with them. They were tasty but hardly no crab inside. We ordered some drinks and ordered our meals. The sausage stuffed ravioli and my date ordered the chicken parmesan. Neither was worth the money that we spent. The pasta had no flavor and tasted as though it was straight out of a can. His sandwich was ok, lacked seasoning. We both agreed that the only things that was worth the trip here was the beer (but then again how can you mess that up), the fries and the TV's. We came to watch one game and was able to watch the historic game between the Packers vs the Chargers with the first ever female ref in the NFL. Made the night a little better to deal with. The service was ok and I mean ok. Our main waitress seemed to be ion a daze the entire time, but when she need a break the back-up waitress was great. Sorry I didn't get your name, but because of you I think I will give Rocky's one more chance during the regular NFL season.

A great neighborhood spot. My husband and I come here for dinner and also bring friends when we are catching a Sox game. I love their outdoor seating and haven't been disappointed by their food either. My favorite is their caprice sandwich. I only wish they had daily drink specials and/or events that would make me plan to come here more often.

Another White Sox bar?! I'm there! Rocky's is great because it's within walking distance of Sox Park, which makes it an awesome place to hang out before/after games. Their food menu seemed small and underdeveloped when we made our first trip here, but maybe they're expanding. We tried some of the arancini (fried rice balls) and they were pretty good and worth getting again. Pretty good beer menu and some specials available, so it makes for a nice bar. There were a lot of TVs so I wouldn't mind spending an evening after work here. There was ample seating, even after a game, and the bar never got uncomfortably crowded. There was also a nice outdoor patio (smokers go here) with a few seats. I'm not sure if they serve alcohol or food out there, but it was nice for relaxing. I for sure see myself coming back here in the future.

Great first vist to Rocky's! The outside doesn't look like much. You'd probably pass right by and not know it was there unless you were looking for it. Inside it is welcoming and modern. Basically the place is split into 2 "rooms" each with a big bar and a open window in the middle. Definitely easy access to the alcohol! Hooray! 312, Fat Tire and Sierra Nevada on tap. Love! The parmesan fries were hot, crispy and delicious and the tomato basil burger was amazing. It came on a pretzel bun and it was cooked perfectly. This place is only a couple of blocks North of Sox park so stop in before or after a game! I can't wait to go back and sit in the beer garden!

The bartenders are really friendly and the prices are pretty reasonable. They really cater to a wide range of customers and do really well pleasing everyone. The selection is okay for a bar as small as they are and the food is not bad at all. Would recommend to anyone living around the area.

Cheap pitchers, friendly staff, good food. Hoping this place will stick around. Try the fries, you won't regret it. The burgers are also quite good. The bar is populated with a combination of Bridgeport residents and IIT students. It is always more crowded for Sox/Blackhawks/Bears/Bulls games, but even then it's not terrible. Never any trouble with the people. The only reason the cops are ever here is to grab a bite for lunch. The beer garden is terrific in the summer.

The fries are awesome and we had a good time picking the music using the touchtunes app. The only problem is that it can get very loud in here on a Friday night

  • Jessica M.

Yum! We stopped in here for a couple beers and some food before a Sox game and I'm glad we did! The 312 on tap tasted great. The place is nice inside and the decor is pretty upscale. We sat at the bar and our 'tender was very attentive and friendly - and she had some pretty cool tattoos. We asked, near the end of our time there, if she could kill the not-so-great music and turn on the TV audio so we could hear some of the sports reporting and she was really cool about it, so that was nice. It was nice that she offered us water, too. We ordered burgers (almost got the wings...next time!) and I was pleasantly surprised that I could order it cooked medium. It was delicious! The fries with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top are great for a change. It was so much food my boyfriend and I split the burger and fries. I'd definitely go back to this place before or after a game!

  • Edith R.

This place has really great burgers, very delicious, thats why I give it 3 stars. However, this review is all about that $10 brunch. Hands down, the food was not good at this buffet style brunch. It wasn't horribly bad, but it was not good. The grapes were still dirty, the BBQ chicken was very dry, and the Greek fritatta tasted very weird (my palate recognizes Greek food very well). Service is always great here, no doubt about it. Plus, it's a sport bar with tons of 50" TVs, but if you're a Cubs fan, you might want to hit a bar North of the Loop. Bridgeport is notorious for ineffable SOX support.

  • G R.

This one leaves me wishing for those half stars again. So to be more accurate let's say 41/2. First of all, glad you're here. Although I'm not from Bridgeport I appreciate Bridgeport being just on the other side of the expressway from me. If you think there's not that much in Bridgeport come on over to Bronzeville. A comfy atmosphere to belly up and eat at the bar and tip a couple back. I did try the burger which was good, but yeah sorry there's a but, it needs to be thicker instead of massively round. Don't adults like a burger that they can sink their teeth into? I know I do. The burgers don't come with fries, it did come with a small serving of potato salad. I do wish that when I asked about the fries and she said it didn't come with any that she would have informed me of the potato salad. Because I wanted a little something on the side, I ended up ordering the onion rings, which by the way were awesome, but I didn't need them. Now I'm just going to want them. The burgers are 9 bucks, onion rings or fries 4 bucks, I don't know, here's another but, 13 bucks for a burger and a real side. Seems a little high to me. I'll be back for some beers, onion rings and the friendly service. I'll probably skip the burgers until they can lay a fat one on me.

Face it, Bridgeport - we're getting a little classier and it's not a bad thing. Ever since Han 202 moved into the neighborhood, some of the outsiders have been reconsidering their classification and stereotyping of Bridgeport, and with Rocky's now open, we're going to keep moving in that direction - as long as they stay in business. This location as well has had some pretty quick turnaround in the years I've been here in Bridgeport. It used to be Punchinello's. And I never went in. Then it at some point became Janine's American Cuisine or something like that. And when a co-worker told me that Rocky's was a new restaurant that opened on 31st and Wells, I figured it'd be a good place to hit up (and maybe get another First Review here on Yelp). Plus, if it failed, I knew of the other options in the 'hood. Well, turns out it's that same building, and it took three iterations of Sports Bar / Restaurant businesses in that same spot to get me to enter. Wow. I don't know if there's just been some kind of magical sale on giant flat-screen HDTVs recently, but I have to find out if it's time to invest in getting one. Because this place had about... *counts fingers* ...at least 8 to 10 giant flat-screen HDTVs on the walls. And because it was a Sox game today, and the place is just a few blocks away from the game itself, all the TVs were tuned in and nice and loud. It's good to have TVs that you can hear, though I guess that's more true in a sports bar where it's not supposed to just be ambiance - it's a 2nd reason for coming in (the first being the beer, of course). And their beer was good. I asked what they had on tap, and all that caught my ear were Blue Moon (one of our favorites), Fat Tire (my girl had and vastly enjoyed) and Sam Adams Summer Ale (I went with that, it being a summer day I could get on board with at only 70 degrees). I noticed a good amount of tables (only a few of them closer to ground level instead of up high with tall chairs (I'm afraid of heights - well, actually I'm afraid of falling - well, actually I'm afraid of hitting the ground, but you get the point) but we went with stools at the bar just because it was us, the bartenders, the managers, and a couple of other patrons at the bar. We filled up a good chunk of the bar, with lots of tables that were empty, AND another whole side of the place with its own bar and tables for when it's busy, AND I'm pretty sure I saw a door open out to a beer garden as well. But back to the classiness, my friends. This is not your average hole-in-the-wall sports bar that's got wings and chips and fries to soak up alcohol while you yammer at or about the teams playing on the TV. We asked for a menu and he gave us the tentative one on paper (the real one will be ready for their Grand Opening party next week on August 29th). We weren't planning on staying there for dinner at that point, but what we saw on the menu all looked like . . . . classier versions of standard bar fare. It's hard to explain. But the bartender guy helped explain it when we ordered the fries - because I gotta try the fries anywhere I go. I was intrigued at the menu description which mentions that they leave the skin on (always a nice touch because it means THEY make the fries, not a frozen bag) and that the fries are sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. I thought it'd be a nice twist on the classic, but when they brought out the fancy-looking plate with its own classy dippin' bowl of ketchup, they also mentioned that the fries have a drizzling of white truffle oil. A bar. With white truffle oil fries. As I watched the food brought out to the other patrons, I became a little upset with myself for not diving in and getting dinner here. The appetizer of "sliders" looked marvelous. The burger is what really caught my attention - because not only is it served on a pretzel roll, but it's 10 ounces of PRIME beef. Not select or choice or Angus - we're talking PRIME beef and there's not a lot of places in the city that will use such a fine grade of beef for a BURGER, you know? So maybe after their grand opening party, people will be coming in for the classy cuisine and not just abandoning the poor place once baseball season's over. Well, I guess there's football and basketball season and sports to watch all year round (can you tell I'm not a sports person?) but you get the idea. Let's spread the word that there's another classy establishment that opened in Bridgeport and make those northsiders jealous that they can't have a prime beef burger on a pretzel bun with white truffle oil fries and a nice Fat Tire while watching the White Sox play. They have to settle for the Cubs. (And food that isn't as classy.)

We stopped into Rocky's after a sox's game last night. This was our first time and it was really nice. Great to have a new place in the area to go to before or after a game (or to catch a Bears Game at!). It was fairly crowded but we were still able to get a table for six. The staff was friendly but possibly a little short staffed. Our drinks were made well and reasonable- my kettle one vodka tonic was $6 for a tall. We can't wait to come back and try the food! The menu looked awesome and I saw a couple of dishes pass by. Next time I will be saving some room to try it all out! Go check this place out, it would be nice to see more bars/grills in the area make it!

This is a very cute date spot or for a casual hangout with friends. I always have a great time here and the food is DELICIOUS! I had a spicy pasta dish and it was really good. All of the appetizers are very good to and are great to split between two people. The bartenders are friendly and the owner or manager is usually in t here and is always keeping an eye on things. He is also very nice and always makes me want to come back! Great place for Bridgeport and I love it. Walking distance is just a plus :)

Rocky's is another place that is bringing a little more class to the neighborhood. They just opened this week, lets hope they stay that way. Aaron S. and I wandered in to check it out to see if we could find some dinner here. We marveled at all the giant flat screens strategically placed all around. The staff greeted us and after asking if they serve food (we were not quite sure as there were no menus on the tables or on the bars yeah that's right...they have TWO bars) we decided to take a seat at the bar and order something small and have a beer. The friendly bartender asked if we would like anything to drink and Aaron asked about the beers on tap. They have a nice selection of the nicer beers. They had 312, Fat Tire, Blue Moon, and Sam Adams summertime ale on the list. I had heard a lot of positive things about Fat Tire so I choose that, Aaron S. went with the summertime. The beer was nicely poured because it did not have a ton of head on it, you know how you go to some places and they try to be cheap and give you a quarter cup full of head, well they had none of that going on here. It was also at the perfectly nicely chilled drinking temp. It really did have a nice flavor too, me being a Guinness fan like heavier beers, so I choose well. We also ordered up some fries. The bartender explains that they are tossed lightly in white truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. Oh...now I see what kind of place Rocky's is, classy sports bar. Nice. Later we learned that they serve PRIME burgers. Seriously awesome. Super friendly with some class. We we be back to try the burgers and watch whatever sports they have on their huge TVs. Wrigglyvillie got nothing on Bridgeport!

This is a fun bar and a good place to hang out. It's pretty large with a couple bars inside and has an enjoyable outdoor back patio when it is warm. The bar tenders and waitresses are very nice and the service is good. There are quite a few regulars and the place often has a neighborhood bar feel, but the staff is generally welcoming of new faces. There is a good selection of beers on tap, but the selection will not overwhelm you. The food style is a notch above bar food and generally good. I am a fan of the Chicken Parmesan sandwich (served on garlic bread!), onion rings, and fries with parmesan cheese liberally sprinkled on. It's great quality for the price a good option for a sit down meal or a complement to a day of drinking. An excellent option before or after Sox games. It's easy walking distance to the park from Rocky's.

next time I'm in the area ill be hitting this place up. Nice for a change from hanging on Halsted pre and post Sox games. Bar staff was attentive and friendly and so were the patrons. Drinks aren't expensive at all and there is an outdoor patio in the back. Tons of TVs and room to move around. Great new place in Bridgeport!

Had a great time here watching a couple games during March Madness. Plenty of large plasma TVs at good angles, and a nice atmosphere of a neighborhood bar. What was totally unexpected was how excellent the food was. The fries (which are prepared with parmesan and balsamic vinegar) were amazing, and I had a grilled fish on sauteed spinach that I absolutely didn't expect that I would ever be able to order at a sports bar, and never expected to be so well prepared. My girlfriend and I immediately realized we had to give a solid thumbs-up on Yelp.

I went to Rocky's on the advice of a friend who lives nearby. Since I am a northwest sider I took him up on it. We had a drink a bite to eat and a drink before the bears game yesterday, expecting an average sports bar experience. I didn't know I was walking into a really great thing. Not only was the wait staff pleasant and fun, but the owner (Frank) went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of at Rocky's. He found out it was our first time there and gave us a round on the house. That's really old fashoned Chicago-neighborhood-bar stuff there. The food was great, the guiness was perfect and to top it all off, there is a SHUTTLE that runs any of Rocky's patrons straight to the BEARS GAME FOR FREE !! No worries about parking, no hassles with valets or parking in the lot on 31st street. A PRIVATE SHUTTLE PEOPLE ! This alone is worth the price of the burger and 2 beers I had since parking at the Bears game can easily be upwards of $50. That's not counting the risk of getting your car broken into or the time spent in a traffic jam trying to leave after a bears game. Bonus: you can take your beverage on the shuttle in plastic glasses. After the game, the shuttle was waiting for us exactly where Frank said it would be. It goes without saying that the HDTV's in Rocky's were big big big and easily seen from most spots in the bar. My wife and I are not big sports bar people. We do not go to very many sports bars. But this one is a keeper. We will be going to Rocky's for any bears game we attend. Good beer + good food + reliable shuttle + cool people = loyal customers. Rocky's has my vote.

This bar had the worse service I have ever witnessed in a bar. The Latina bartender on a Sunday night said nothing to me and my friend as we ordered. This is generally not a pleasant bar experience when you get digged and ignored by the staff. The place was prety much dull looking and not really a sports bar the night I went.

I rarely go to the South Side but we happened to stop at Rocky's and I am very impressed. This is got to be the nicest bar in the South Side and it is very close to Cellular Field. We had lunch here and I must say it was really really good for bar food, the bartender was great too! If we are in the area again I've got a good new lunch spot!

Like another poster below, I wish I could give half stars. I really only wanted to give Rocky's 3 1/2 stars. First, I just wanna say I do like this place to give it another try soon. There aren't too many nicer pub/bars to go to in Bridgeport. I grew up in the neighborhood and now I live in Canaryville, so I ought to know. Service was spot on. The server was nice and attentive. Now for the food. The potential was there. Unfortunately, the aracini we ordered was cold in the middle. The sliders we ordered was overdone and dry. Flavor was good and the bun was nice but it was just too dry. I kinda wished the meat was a bit thicker as well. The fries were yummy though. They had a decent selection of beers on tap and their whiskey selection was standard enough to not leave me wanting much. I will try to go back soon, probably on a busier night just to see what it's like. I've been to a few bars in Bridgeport and the patrons aren't always that friendly and inviting to folks of color. So we'll see. :)

It's definitely cool to have such a nice bar that serves food to go to when I'm in the Bridgeport area. Stopped in after a Sox game and although it was pretty empty at first and the afternoon turned into evening the place started to fill up. Still not packed but there was a good amount of people there. Sat and the bar and our bartender was really attentive. She always had a Miller Lite ready for me. I didnt get a chance to check out the back patio but from what I could see it looked pretty sweet. I ordered the Aranchini and it was to die for. I believe it was my first time to ever eat aranchini and definitely a good choice. I wish there were drink specials though. Our tab was over $80! Yikes.

Stopped in for a few brews and a burger before the Sox game. Wasn't too busy even though its not far from the park. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a few drinks before the game, but the local bars seem too crowded, check out Rocky's!

It was ok but nothing special. $$ prices, food better than you can expect in a sport bar, but honestly this is not really a sport bar. Service ok

Service is friendly and not overbearing. Very comfy 'joint', would come here more often if it was closer to home. Great location, right off the Ryan at 31st street. Easy on street parking. The food is awesome. Have tried about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Personal favs chicken parm and chicken vesuvio sandwiches. If you find yourself looking for a good place to eat coming to or leaving a Sox game this is the place!

Saw this place listed in the Time Out Chicago magazine Beer Garden insert. We decided to check it out since we'd been desperate to find more bars with craft beer on tap in the neighborhood. The beer selection was acceptable, food was really good--especially the fries, and the service was super awesome. The beer garden was large with lots if TVs to watch baseball. We cant wait to go back with more friends to play bags out there.

Good stuff first. The bar was clean and modern, and that's always welcome. The main bartender was a darling; she took good care of me. The not-so-good. A few of the patrons were drunken yobbos. Some might submit that goes with the territory, but it wasn't even nighttime. They seemed to be well-intentioned and friendly enough; they probably don't realize that their act is mildly annoying. Also, the food was not fantastic. I don't get it; it's not as exceptional as some make it out to be. Oh, and they now charge an extra twenty-five cents if you use a credit card to settle your bill. That's not classy. Not classy at all.

Rocky's has a great burger. And I mean great! This thing's 1/2lb of beef cooked to perfection with a pretzel dough bun. Their fries are excellent or you can opt for the potato salad. They really offer a unique dining experience for a local Sox bar. Definitely cross the line between bar food and a more elegant experience. Tried their Chicken Parmegan sandwich and although good, you really are doing yourself a dissapointment not trying that burger in all its glory.

I had the white fish lent special (NOT on the menu) and it was amazing! It was so good I actually went back during the week to have it again. The dish was full of flavor and much healthier than a typical burger (which is equally as good at Rocky's)This is a must try.....ENJOY!

This place is great....not only do they serve high quality food, but they have an AWESOME DJ playing there a couple times a month on fridays. He was just there this past Friday and I say they should bring him back EVERY friday. He really plays great music. Go for dinner..and stay for the music and dancing. It's a nice, lively place and DJ Bobby (i think that's his name?)....is a great new addition to Rocky's already wonderful line up of food, sports and now great music! This place is a keeper for sure. Welcome back Bridgeport!

Still a fan but we have been back for brunch a few times and unfortunately, we are over the brunch. The past two times have been pretty bad. The food on chaffers was ice cold....yuck. Also, chicken nuggets covered in BBQ sauce...really?!?!? Stick to the regular menu - can't go wrong with the caprese sandwich! Also, Rocky's: PLEASE get bottles of beer. I love this place but you need to serve beer in a bottle and NOT only in a can. I understand on game days when the bar is crowded but sitting in there on a Friday night with 2 other people in the bar and drinking from a can makes me feel like I'm in Canaryville!

A group of six geeky IIT students decided to go drinking in Bridgeport. Rocky's was the newest and closest, so we went in. It was excellent. First we walked in, sat down at a table, and awkwardly ordered food. Their fries are AMAZING, with parmesan cheese and other deliciousness. The hot wings are spicy but not omgwtf. Also, get the Arancini! It's like a meatball wrapped in delicious cheese with peas, surrounded by a ball of rice, dusted with cornstarch and fried very lightly. They're amazing. Next we ordered drinks from Greg, the bartender. (We didn't get carded until we ordered drinks.) He's pretty detailed about checking IDs. They have Guinness, Blue Moon, and Fat Tire on tap, which made us all very happy. The cranberry and vodka is excellent, and the malibu pineapple is DELICIOUS. They also have wine, but we didn't get any. At the moment they don't have blended drinks, i..e no mudslides, margaritas, etc. :( Greg also makes a good mai tai, whiskey sour, and something green and sweet. We ordered so many drinks that I can't actually recall them all. At the end of the night the bill was much smaller than expected- $120 for 6 ppl, with 4-7 drinks each. I'm pretty sure it was a first-night discount. While we were drinking, another big group of IIT students came in. We said hi but didn't combine groups. This place is so close to campus that I think most student government meetings will adjourn to it, and most VanderCook students should take the two-block walk to have a chat with Greg and his tap. Greg and the owner (who was wearing a white baseball cap and poured beer and I think made food) were both really nice to us, and kept asking how they could get more IIT students here. The back "beer garden" is sweet, with another bar and lots of open air, a nice wood fence, four or eight tables. The tv screens were awesome; there were more than 6 of them, big and high-ref. The place where our table was could probably also be a stage, since it was slightly raised. The restrooms have two stalls each, and are clean, well-decorated, and well-maintained. The seats at the bar are really comfy- just the right height and a little bit padded. The music is Sirius radio, mostly top 40s pop, but the owner can take requests or change it, etc. I'm not sure, but I think they're open until 2 every night except for Friday/Saturday, when they're open until 3.

They serve food, but it's primarily a bar. Nice room with flat-screen TVs. Decent beer selection at $5 / glass, which is pretty steep by Bridgeport standards. Clientele is 90% male.

This is one of those places I wanted to really love as we live pretty close and it would be nice to have one of those great neighborhood bars. The boy and I went in here on a Wednesday night and it was pretty slow, about 16 people (yes we counted) when we arrived. I had just gotten out of work and wanted a quick bite to eat and maybe a drink. We walked in and grabbed a seat in the bar area and waited and waited. The bartender finally came over and threw the menus down on the table. We both told her thank you as she walked away. Now I understand having a bad day but that should have been the first clue that we were inconveniencing her by being there. We quickly looked threw the menu closed it and waited some more (she was busy talking with I presume a friend at the bar). Finally she came over and took our order. I ordered the lemon bow tie pasta and the boy had some chicken wings. Mine was okay, a little too much lemon but still for bar food pretty good. The boy loved his chicken wings said they were some of the best he had in the city. After we were done again we waited for her to ask if we needed anything else, take our dirty plates, ask if we needed another drink. Our dirty plates sat at our table until I finally asked one of the guys (who wasn't really working but maybe helping) if we could get our bill. We paid in cash so we could leave and by the time we left the bar there was only one person there and the bartender still couldn't even say bye. I try to give places the benefit of a doubt and most of the time people a chance I work in an industry where people can review me so I always try to be fair but this chick was seriously lacking customer service. Will we be back? probably not. Update: I was contacted about the horrible service we received and the owner sincerely seemed apologetic about the behavior of his employee. He seemed like a nice guy and I appreciate that! I really hope this place can work out its kinks (and teach employees common manners...like thank you)it would be nice to have a neighborhood bar for the summer!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
