this place is an MG staple on kedzie. great beef sandwiches and thin cut french fries. friendly, FAST service. in and out in no time flat pretty much every time, even when they are really busy. i hit this place as often as possible for a shake in the summertime as well. i think they have 50 or so different flavors, but, i stick with the blueberry... one wish, maybe a little more dining space to eat there, even though i'm in the neighborhood and home isn't far.

Best beef on the south side! I recommend the cheesy beef. My daughter who is not a meat fan loves the meatball sandwhiches and has to have the onion rings. The fries are always crispy and fresh. Fast service and consistantly good food.

I get the beef with hot giardinara and red sauce. Sometimes the super beef if i want leftovers haha. Thier giardinara is so tasty, its not like the stuff you can get at the store. They make thier own and its so fresh and crunchy. The jalepeno's and celery are sliced to perfection. Also they have really good fries and the italian chicken sandwich is not bad either if you don't have a taste for beef. The service is always friendly and the place always has people in it. I'm getting hungry for a beef writing this :)

I'm a big fan of pops. I love their beef but wish they had real hot giadineria. So I usually get the grilled chicken sandwich, which is without a doubt the best grilled chicken sandwich ever. The amount of fries you get is ridiculous. They recently made it so the daily specials are everyday specials, which is very nice. Their burgers are great as well and the italian steak sandwich is yummy. I have yet to get something from Pop's that wasn't extremely delicious. Great local business to support!

This is the best Italian Beef in the city. Thinly shaved, always fresh, never gristly. And full of deliciousness. I love the "gardinera" here too. I used quotes b/c it's not like regular gardinera... it's not pickled veggies, it's fresh thinly sliced celery & jalapenos & red pepper flakes marinated in olive oil. It's crunchy and perfect with a beef w/ gravy (or dipped). Also, the fries are great-- thin and always hot, but I always need more salt. And the hot dogs are yummy too.

This is one of the best beef's I've tasted in the city. The Giardiniera isn't traditional but is amazing. Best of all I've got to applaud the consistency of this place. Been going since I was a kid probably 20 yrs ago and it has always been great.

I am not a big meat eater but my husband loves it so we served this to about 40 people for a birthday party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. And the women I spoke with while placing the order was just great! SHe could not have been more helpful.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
