This is the quintessential spot that my girlfriend and I go to for takeout when we decide to stay in on a weekend night. I don't know much about the rest of the menu as we always order chicken pad thai and crab rangoon. Nevertheless, it's amazing and we'll keep coming back. Quick, simple, and well worth the money.

Came in during lunch on a Sunday. This place always has people eating in it, which is a good thing. Ordered the pad see ew spicy with crispy noodles and tofu. The crispy noodles are a must I never knew about it until a friend told me. They are so crispy and soak up the yummy pad see ew sauce. The portion size is also good bang for thr buck. This place is so deliciously consistent. Best thai place I've been to so far in Chicago area.

I had a chillies/noodle dish with an appetizer and thai tea. Everything we got was exceptional, hot, fresh, and flavorful. Let's not forget to mention that the cost is ideal. My husband and i each got an entree, i got a drink, and we shared an appetizer... I wanna say it was around $28 including tip. I highly recommend this place: our thai food go-to in the neighborhood! Also, if you're looking for a cute patio, this place has got it!

The coconut chicken was pretty damn good. A definite win in my book and a sure recommend!

It's pretty good but nothing extraordinary. We had the noodle soup, tom yum soup, some sort of garlic shrimp dish, and another beef vegetable dish. Again, the food wasn't bad, but a little greasy, however that's just how the food is. Can't complain about that. Service was a little slow, mainly because it was busy and there were only 1-2 servers. Servers aren't necessarily friendly, but rather are just doing their jobs.

Was looking for another Thai option near my house and heard a couple people mention Noodles in the Pot as a good option. Although Noodles in the Pot has a great outdoor seating area with nice lighting, I don't think I'll be headed back. The highlight of the meal was the chicken satay appetizer. I know, it's so standard, and yes it's standard chicken satay, BUT the amount of chicken you get is huge and they serve you a small plate full of great peanut sauce. $8 for a chicken satay appetizer may seem like a lot, but when you're getting that much food, it suddenly seems great value. I love spicy foods and found their curry options to be lacking. They really only have panang curry and green curry. I've been on a massamun curry lately even though panang or yellow curry are my favorites. Needless to say, I got the Panang curry which they serve in the form of Panang Noodles. I expected the crispy noodles and they were fine, but what i didn't expect was that the noodles came on a plate! Of all my years of eating asian foods, I've never seen curries like that come on plates. The whole point of panang noodles is that the crispy noodles get softer as they soak up the curry sauce. Instead Noodle's crispy noodles just sit on a plate over a thin veneer of sauce. The sauce itself was good, the dish could've used a bit more chicken and a bit less noodle I think but it needed to come in a bowl. The service was also very poor, they just looked understaffed. They had two people serving the entire outdoor area and some of the indoor tables it looked like. Twice the servers tried bringing us the wrong food which we almost wanted to take given how long it took to actually get our food. Overall it's just 3 stars but I don't expect to return. I think I'd rather a Plate on Southport.

I love noodles in the pot. Initially I only ordered it from grub hub and I was constantly happy with it! I usually get the same thing because I am a picky eater and this is no exception. I get the wide crispy panang noodles with chicken. They are so dang good! I get the crab rangoons and I wish they had other appetizers that I would like but the dumplings and won tons all have shrimp in them of which I am NOT a fan. When you GO to noodles in the pot it really shines especially on a nice day because they open the garage style side door and have a wonderful patio area. Noodles in the pot is perfect for summer or nice spring/fall weather.

I love this place. I am pretty sure I am sending someone's kid to college or paying for a mansion with a nice pool. I frequent here and have been for nearly 10 years. The food is always fresh, the staff is efficient and friendly, and the place is very clean. If you go there when they first open, you can see people cleaning the front windows and dusting the decor. I have tried nearly everything on this dish and love it all. You can't go wrong. I am a huge fan of their Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Green curry. If you are vegetarian or have vegetarian friends, they also do their best to accommodate you which is a plus. While I love thai food, I know this place is good - or the best - when I compare every thai place I order from to here.

Only used takeout and delivery. The green curry is excellent, and the price is fair. I usually stretch a to-go order into 2 meals. Great, solid spot and quick delivery.

Noodles... don't come in pots! Which was a bit disappointing to my friend and me. But overall we were happy with our experience. We were looking for quick reasonably priced eats near the DePaul music school, and this was a five minute walk away! The portions were extremely generous, so much that we were both mostly full from splitting an order of chicken satay (pretty good, yummy peanut sauce) that we looked like we barely dug into our noodle entrees. They came on plates :/ but that's forgivable I guess. My pad woo sen was pretty flavorful and had a nice variety of veggies and a lot of beef, but it was way too salty :( Friend loved her drunken noodles though. I had a bite and it had really great basilness. Mmm. Service... lacking. Food came decently quickly. And the prices are really good for lincoln park! This is officially one of 4 restaurants in the area I can suggest now, heh...

I gave this place another shot. I mean, how can you not given the romantic little patio!? I ordered the pad thai (vegan) and when I received my dish it tasted like it was covered in sugar syrup. My dining partner also tried the dish and was immediately put off. Therefore I asked for a different dish, I believe it was a spicy noodle dish, and it was no better. I was really hoping this place would deliver on being a delicious, low-cost Thai option, but it does not.

I came in on a weeknight with two friends for a late dinner. We waited about 15 minutes for patio seating. It wasn't busy, but everyone there was eating outside. Once seated, we put in orders for appetizers and entrees right away since we'd had time to look through the menu while we waited. The wait was long, and after about 40 minutes we asked about the status of our food. It was hard to get a waiter to stop by our table for us to even ask about our meals. They had forgotten to put in our order, and brought out some free spring rolls and a salad for us because our food would be a while. After they realized they'd forgotten the orders, they came out pretty quickly. The food was really inexpensive and pretty good, patio is nice, and its BYOB (!), so I wouldn't be against coming back; I just wouldn't expect the best service next time.

This place is a hidden gem. Great service, clean environment, and the food tastes better most of the Thai places I have been in Chicago. Definitely give it a try!

Good food for the price! Had the vegetarian spring rolls which had pineapple in them / interesting! Very sweet peanut sauce - would've liked more of the savory/spicey component there. Also had the Panang curry noodles - the noodles are very crispy which is really great, I just wish there was more sauce to slather on to them to make them a little less firm. Tofu was cooked to perfection. More vegetables in the noodle dish, please!

Came here for a weekend lunch with a friend. When we went there, we were the only customers, so naturally we were a little worried. However, any doubts I had quickly vanished when the food came out. I ordered the beef drunken noodle, and it was delicious! My friend ordered the bbq pork noodle and seemed quite happy with it as well. They also have some pickled peppers that are delicious. Additionally, the food came out quickly, which was great (granted, I'm not sure how much of that was a function of us being the only customers). Highly recommended.

I never thought I could be so utterly disappointed with a restaurant. I ordered the coconut curry expecting to have my mind blown. All I got was this greasy, tasteless excuse of a meal. I called the restaurant to see if they could deliver a different batch and all the manager could say was that there was nothing she could do.Look at photos 72 and 73 to see what I paid my hard earned $$$ for.

Came here with my friends to get out of the rain and was completely blown away how great the food was and the customer service. It is safe to say I'll be coming here more often!

Ate at Noodles in the Pot as part of my continuing search for the best Thai in Chicago. I got the drunken noodles and was not disappointed. The noodles were thick and doughy which I like, and the rest of the dish was very good. I'm not sure if I would put it ahead of other local Thai places like P.S. Bangkok, but it's definitely a good place to add to the rotation.

Food was awesome. Specially the pad Thai The crab wantons were also delicious. I asked for medium spicy but it wasn't enough for me. I really enjoyed this dinner as the temperature was very pleasant and the patio was awesome. They kindly arranged the patio tables for us 4 adults and 4 kids. I would have given this place 5 stars but the younger server needed to be nicer and smile. She was very quiet however attentive at the same time. Will come back to this place again next time I'm in town.

I ordered delivery. The food arrived in a timely manner, relatively speaking. The delivery driver was unfriendly. The Crab Rangoon was average, at best. The Drunken Noodles were dry, the vegetables in it were burned, and the tofu tasted freezer-burned. Overall, not a good meal; I am quite dissatisfied.

I was in the mood for Thai food the other night and wanted to try a new place, so I did a quick search on Yelp, and Noodles in the Pot came highly recommended. I'm so glad we checked it out! The space is very nice, a great place for a group dinner or a casual date, and it's BYOB! The staff is very friendly and attentive, and made our dining experience very enjoyable. We had Pot Stickers and Crab Rangoon as appetizers. Both were a little small in size, but no complaints here since we still had room for dinner. I had the Crazy Noodles, and my husband had the Panang Noodles. I would definitely recommend both. The portion size was very generous and reasonably priced. I also had the Thai Iced Coffee, so good! I'm looking forward to coming back.

Chicago -- of all the wonderful things you have, Thai food is not your strong suit, but yet there's so much of it to offer. I took a Pad See Ew to-go -- almost $11 -- and rushed home on the Blue Line so I could eat it in the comfort of my home. I dumped everything out of the white paper bag and thought there must be some hidden compartment, some magic trick to the bag, because certainly there was more than this small container of noodles. "Alright. That's cool. Stay positive. 600+ reviews. Stay positive." I didn't stay positive for long. I consider Noodles in the Pot to be riddled with what I call Yelper's Bias. Yelper's Bias is a fascinating idea. It's when a place gets lots of good reviews due to a combination of factors, such as being in the right location (thus getting the most Yelper traffic), not having terrible food (removes the risk of getting 1-2 stars), and/or being reviewed by innocent Yelpers who just might not know any better (Midwest folk reviewing Asian food). Well, I'm here to spit the truth, Chicago. There's gotta be better Thai food than Noodles in the Pot, there must be. In my month of moving up here from Houston, I've been to 3-4 Thai places. None of them have been above average, and I'd say Noodles in the Pot is below it. I'll let you know when I find good Thai in Chicago.

Waited an hour and half for food. The lady argued with me that they weren't wrong to not tell me food was delayed. Terrible experience, I won't be ordering from this place again. Don't eat here if you're hungry when you order!

Another thanks to Fellow Yelpers for finding an awesome place for dinner. Food was all fresh and as tasty as can be. Service was prompt and courteous. They had all the regulars form pad Thai to pad woon sen highly recommend

I ordered take-out from here on a recent trip to Chicago, and I thought the food was average/a bit below average. We got three things: a spicy red Masaman curry, tom yum soul with chicken and spring rolls. The curry was the best thing was got, but I feel like I've had better and I thought it was strange that it was served with fried wontons to sprinkle on top. The soup was okay, it was mostly broth and mushrooms; there didn't seem to be much noodles or chicken. But the vegetable rolls were the strangest thing; they came with pineapple, and not fresh pineapple either. It tasted sort of like it was from a can. It was a really odd, almost unpleasant taste, and though I was really looking forward to dipping the roll in the peanut sauce it came with, peanuts and pineapple just don't go together. I think if you stick to the classics (curry, noodle dishes) you'll probably be okay here but don't venture to far from those staples.

I've ordered from Noodles in the Pot several times. They deliver to where I work, and they have no minimum needed for delivery, which is awesome. Noodles in the Pot also has some pretty great lunch specials. I think the star rating says it all: "A-OK." Nothing has been great, but nothing has been terrible, either. Overall, things are ok to good. The crab rangoon are delicious and are always part of my order. The pad see ewe is tasty but extremely greasy. The baby egg rolls are ok, but tend to be bland and a little soggy. The panang curry is usually good, but it can be a bit hit or miss in terms of spiciness. There have been a few bumps in the road, however. For example, today's order of golden noodles with chicken had no chicken and no vegetables. The menu said that the dish was noodles with meat of choice, sauce, and carrots, snow peas, straw mushrooms, and Chinese broccoli, but the only thing I received was a bowl of cold, plain noodles. Also, delivery tends to be INCREDIBLY slow.

I went to check out this place to see whats the hype about since it located near my school. The food is very bland. The lunch special could be better. I had the chicken Rama, it was sort of disgusting. It tasted like a jar of peanut butter with chicken. Overall, I'm disappointed in the food.

5 Stars to the only Thai restaurant that has ever been able to deliver take-out beef to me served at the proper temperature. Normally by the time beef dishes are delivered, the meat is more like jerky than an actual nice cut of meat. Thank you for knowing how to cook, package, and deliver food. 5 solid stars for delivery.

Have to give this place 2 stars. So far had the crab ragoons, spring rolls, pad Thai and pad see eiw. Service is always fast. I like my food super spicy and they haven't made it spicy enough yet but you can always add your own hot sauce. The pad see eiw is better than the pad Thai but can't decide between the apps cause the spring rolls have cream cheese in them. Byob sometimes I feel like it's a bit too greasy.. But most Thai is.

Love this place! Been coming here for years. Have brought many friends and everyone has loved it. The menu is a little limited but what they do, they do good. I like to ask for things very spicy and they're willing to accommodate. Great patio. Love that it's BYOB (bring beer if you plan on eating spicy--red wine doesn't help at all). Some highlights: - Pad Thai and NP Pad Thai - some might criticize me for being standard here but I'll just say that I don't get Pad Thai anywhere except here and I have them make it spicy. I've tried a number of other places and am always disappointed in comparison. - Pad Won Sen - Pad Khee Mao - Vegetable Rolls - Curry - I'm not a huge curry fan in general but my friends always order the Green curry and love it Service is exceptional. They let you hang and drink for a while. Very attentive. Remember you after only a few visits. Really love coming here.

Nice atmosphere, cute decor, mediocre food. Green curry: definitely on the bland side. I've had MUCH worse but also much better. Seeing as this was my first visit, I wasn't left feeling the need to revisit especially considering the competition of restaurants in the area.

The Panang curry is sweetish and the fried noodles smelt of stale oil. Kind of felt queasy after eating couple of those fried things Pad see ew was decent

After a long journey, I was really hungry and had some pad thai with tofu at Noodles In the Pot. It comes with two sauces and citron, and although it was a bit greasy, it was quite tasty. However, it wasn't a taste explosion but perfectly alright for the occasion. And the portions are really huge, I couldn't finish it in one sitting.

LOVE THIS THAI FOOD PLACE!!!! The beef pad see eiw is delish!!! So much delicious flavor in each bite. If you go there for lunch, the give you a small appetizer of your choice. The crab rangoon is my go-to whenever I eat Chinese or Thai food and believe me when I say that the crab rangoon here is amazing!!!

This restaurant is nicely decorated and the outdoor seating area is well shaded being surrounded by tall trees. It's a good place for a date or to enjoy nice weather. Both the inside and outside were inviting. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. Although it seemed like she was the only waitress at the time, she gave us ample attention and quick service. The selection on the menu is fantastic. They have tons of noodles and rice dishes to try. They also have a lunch special menu valid during the weekday 11p-3p where you can order a dish and one appetizer for under $7. The bamee was great - comes with BBQ pork and imitation crab. The 3 pieces of crab rangoon were delicious. The lad nar is made with crispy noodles and is covered in gravy, chicken and broccoli. The Thai ice tea was well made for $3. There were plenty of pay street parking in the area, costing about $2/hour with max of 3 hours. BYOB

This review is not about the food but service. We ordered takeout and they went to the wrong door when given proper instructions 3 times and the guy rudely hung up on me 2 times. I will never order from here again based on this. And then he sat in his car and wouldn't come up.

    (1)
  • Val S.

You've got to LOVE Noodles in the Pot for their menu selection, their BYOB policy (NO CORKAGE FEE) and their consistency. i can't say I'm an authority on thai food, but I have always been pleased with my go to's of Pad Thai, Beef and Brocoli, Pad See Eiw, Crab Rangoon and Potstickers. It will always be a top place for me. Portions are big, price is right.

I order Thai delivery a lot, and I decided to try this place. The panang curry was cold on arrival, was served with wontons (which was prob in the description) but much worse than rice, and was just okay. Also ordered pad Thai which I had to load with sririacha to give taste. Do not recommend.

Legit! The food rolls out FAST!! My only complaints is that they have no dessert, I mean they only serve lychee or rambunton in syrup, those 2 are your only options. Who wants that!!? Where is the sticky rice with mango, green tea ice cream and thai custard? I ordered the crazy noodle with tofu and mom ordered the dumpling noodle soup. My crazy noodle was great, has snow peas, very crisp, noodle is not all brunken up or gooey like some places, it was very defined and clean cut. Great flavors, came with shredded scallion. Fair portion. Mom's dumpling noodle is really dumpling, not wonton. Fair enough, however, not a lot of noodle in the bowl, came with some greens and bbq pork, good amount of yummy soup. I also ordered the taro bubble tea, OMG, best part of the meal, SOO GOOD. Hands down the best bubble tea I've ever had in Chicago! So worth the $4, It had been licking my lips afterwards. Also ordered the baby egg rolls for appetizers, they weren't kidding about the eggrolls being baby sized, they are indeed small, 6 in an order. However, the eggrolls are quite good. The baby eggrolls were $4.50. All noodle dishes here are $9.25. Thre is outdoor seating here, and their outdoor seating is quite nice. Can be a nice romantic lunch or dinnre :) Good customer service, 3 bathrooms, 1 women, 1 men, 1 unisex. Spacious. The same owners as Joy's noodle in lakeview. You will see on their chopsticks and menu Joy's noodle logo.

  • Debra F.

I really like this place. Their lunch specials menu is extensive and comes with a choice of starters (the baby egg rolls are outstanding) all for less than $8. My fav is the dumpling noodles that are served in a tasty broth with a load of fresh vegetables. The service is fast and extremely courteous and the condiments that they have on every table includes pickled chilies synonymous with Southeast Asian foods. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was that the mango bubble tea I had was so sweet it was like drinking honey. I still think it's a great restaurant though and definitely up there in terms of value for money.

With high expectation, we ended up not finishing everything we ordered. The thai iced tea was very sweet, but given it is a drink, it's acceptable. On the other hand, we ordered green curry, soup and pad Thai, all of them are too sweet. I've been to Thailand, so I know what is authentic thai food. If you're a big fan of sweet food, come to this place.

Very good meal at Noodles in The Pot. Went for a late lunch around 3 pm on Saturday afternoon. The place was fairly busy- a good sign! I believe the crab Rangoon was one of the best I've ever had. Thai rolls were excellent and I really enjoyed the garlic chicken noodles. Service was efficient and friendly.

I went today with a friend of mine. There was no line no waiting time. We ask them what are the most popular dishes they have and it was pad thai and chicken curry. I ordered chicken curry. They never brought the napkins and the service was terrible. I came home feeling sick..Food poisoned.

While in Chicago for the USA v. New Zealand rugby match, my family met up with a friend of mine from high school. I would say she's an old friend, but she would smack me the next time we saw each other, so... I'm not saying that. NOT saying it. Anyway, she has lived in the Chicago area for just a few years (like about ten, I think), and worked in town, and all of that good stuff. So when she learne we were coming to town, she said we had to have dinner. So we did. She and her daughter (Hi Kadyn!) are vegetarians, and my family is quite ferociously carnivorous. So, we had to find something we could both eat. Her solution was this really neat little Thai restaurant. My family likes Indian and Chinese, but we had never had Thai food. But we are up for it, and away we go. One quick little train ride and a couple of blocks of walking, and bam! Noodles in the Pot. I was dull, and had the Pad Thai with Chicken. Yummy! Now that I write this, I don't recall what my wife had, but it was a bowl of noodles and broth and it was really good, too. The boys both went for pad thai as well. Service was good, and pretty quick considering the place was packed and had several large parties (we were six, and there were three larger groups than ours). Anyway, my youngest son is now a pad thai fiend. In the last month we have had Thai food three times. And that's what I have to say about Noodles in the Pot. It got at least one Texas teenager hooked on Thai. We all enjoyed it, and the restaurant was clean, the service quick and friendly, and the prices not bad (for Chicago, y'all... I want to say we got out for all six of us at about $100, with no alcohol).

After returning from Thailand, it was wonderful to come back to Chicago and return to Noodles, which has been nailing the authentic Thai food for years. We love the take out, the BYOB, and the patio, which is dog friendly. If you go, get any of the Curries, they are outstanding!

Whoever thinks this place is good is either a hungover/cannabis smoking college student from DePaul or someone who has NO idea what good Thai food is supposed to be like. Very sad and pathetic now. What was once a great Thai place with great prices has now become GROSSLY overpriced and CHEAP/SKIMPY with portions. There is absolutely NOTHING about this place that is worth the prices as the quality of the food has gone severely downhill in a major way. I have gone back and tried them several times...thinking maybe I just caught them on a bad day...but every single time I have been really disappointed...and don't try mentioning your lousy meal to the waiter/waitress they don't care. I don't know if the owners are the same as they were 10 years ago, but they need to be taught that taking advantage of neighborhood clients by providing lousy, cheap, skimpy meals and doubling prices is NOT a good business idea. Just last night I was making spring rolls at home and thought to myself "hmmm...some peanut satay sauce would be really great with these" and I walked down to Noodles in the Pot and ordered a side of peanut sauce. For $2.75 I got a THIMBLE sized (no joking, maybe 1 tablespoon, MAX) thing of peanut sauce. When they handed me the bag I thought it was empty it was so light. Forget this place and forget these cheap idiots.

My favorite Thai food in the city. I ordered the panang noodles and they are by far, the best! We also ordered some green tea bubble tea that was super yummy. The service was great and the prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to come back!

Awesome food all around. Get the crab Rangoon starter...perfectly crispy and delicious. We also had the coconut chicken curry and the cashew chicken dish. Both flavorful and fresh and were very large portions for the price. Especially since it's byob; we had 2 entrees, an appetizer, and a bottle of wine ($5 trader joes) totaling $33 with tip. Not bad. Service was great and by the looks of the table next to us ,who was just a few bottles of wine deep and were close to finished with their meal when we walked in and still sitting there when we left, they don't pressure you to leave.

This review is for delivery only. Chicago lacks a bit in the thai delivery area, but food is always solid. Love the pad see ew and the crab rangoon. Pad Thai is good too. Delivery is always fast and food comes hot. Not the best thai food you'll ever have but solid.

  • Jennifer J.

Had crab rangoon and drunken noodles delivered through grub hub. Worst drunken noodles I've ever had - heavy on the fish sauce, noodles were skinny instead of flat and they were hard in places. Tofu was old and dry. Not sure if this bad experience is just because it was delivered but will avoid in future.

BYOB and don't forget it! Noodles in the Pot is a great little location with a VERY enjoyable patio area shaded by tall trees and nice buildings. Really, if you are looking to relax and get down on some asian food you have picked the right place! Prices for lunch were great. The service was attentive and nice. The food was served fast (but not too fast) and tasted great. The Thai iced tea was fantastic as well. Just about everything in this place was all around great. I did have a minute problem with a couple of flies that should totally be expected when you are seated outside - and just to be clear I wouldn't have traded the flies for sitting inside - the patio is just too peaceful and beautiful! Come on in for fantastic dishes and a relaxed lunch that will leave your mind relaxed and your belly happy :)

I dined at Noodles in the Pot last night after a friend's recommendation. We brought a bottle of wine and split the mini eggrolls to start. They weren't my favorite, but still good and I would likely order them again. I had the chicken pad Thai. It had very good flavor without being too sweet and had a good amount of chicken for the price. My boyfriend had the garlic chicken and broccoli. While the quality and portion of his dish was good, it was lacking in taste. Our service was good and the prices are great for the value. I would definitely go back to Noodles in the Pot for noodles, but would avoid the rice dishes.

I don't understand how this place could receive better than one star. This was probably the worst Thai food I've ever had. My appetizer (veggie rolls) came on a frozen plate in under one minute after we ordered it, the peanut sauce; luke warm. It's BYPB so we brought our own beer and had to get our own cups as te guy completely disregarded our existence. I will never come back here and I would not recommend it to anybody.

Let's put it this way...for over 6 years every time my boyfriend, friends, friends from out of town, or family are visiting and we are trying to think of somewhere new to go...we always end up coming here. Solid menu, great food with great flavor, great customer service, nice patio....and the best thai in the city ( try the crab rangoon). You will not be disappointed. OH!! and its BYOB

Do yourself a favor and get the Golden Noodles. It's the only dish I order because it's just so amazing.

My husband and I discovered NITP more than a decade ago, when he was an undergrad at DePaul, and I was working in Lincoln Park. The lunch specials attracted us because they happen at lunchtime and are special--what with their low prices and included appetizer. :) Now, many years later, we rarely have time to go there. But when we find ourselves free from the kids, running errands, and anywhere close to NITP, we head there for panang curry (or is it noodles). I think theirs is the best I've ever had - half crunchy, half curry-drenched. OMFG, so delish.

Walked out of our way to come to this restaurant and was surprised to see that it didn't live up to its 4 star reputation on Yelp. I ordered the chicken satay appetizer and a bubble tea. My husband ordered Pad See Eiw. Both meals were okay but pretty bland. The tapioca in the bubble tea was hard in the middle and the smoothie to accompany the tea was mostly ice with no flavor. Also a lady fell down the steps to the outside patio pretty hard and the servers response was pretty apathetic as it must happen a lot. She pointed to a sign that said watch your step and said be careful.

Long overdue yelp review. This place has great service, delicious food, CHEAP lunch menu! I highly recommend going to Noodles in the Pot if you find yourself in Lincoln Park and looking for a traditional meal. It's one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. Thai iced coffee here is refreshing; I order it every time. The tofu prepared here is not undercooked or jagged, like you would find in most Thai places in Chicago. They cook it firm and it fits well for every dish I've tasted. Vegetarians, If you're feeling a little adventurous, you can ask for tofu substitutions for something that is normally cooked with meat. Go for it! I recommend their spring rolls, panang and pad thai noodles, cashew, sweet and sour entree. So good, you'll be coming back for more.

Noodles in the Pot is the place to go if you are looking for standard Thai. BYOB is awesome, and the staff is friendly and fast. Nothing too special, but nothing outlandish either. Great prices and good food!

It has taken me about four dining-in experiences and 12+ take-out orders from Noodles in the Pot to finally write this review because I kept thinking, "it can't ALWAYS be this good." Turns out, it really can. I have had five or six different noodle or rice entrees and a few different appetizers and can genuinely say I enjoyed everything I've tried. Their take-out service is fast and always accurate, and their dine-in experience is lovely. BYOB is a great feature, portions are large, the staff is always friendly and the environment is pleasant and understated. I know my love for this place will only grow with patio season as their outdoor seating is perfect. It's amazing that in such a big city with so many options, we continue to want to come back here again and again. It has become the norm for my husband and I to say "wanna get take-out?" and we both know that means NITP. We will continue to be back, and back often!

Really nice atmosphere, kind staff and the food comes very quickly! They gave bottle openers and ice buckets with no charge which is always a plus for a BYOB restaurant. I'll definitely be back!

Love this place! Great prices & generous servings! Highly recommend! Highly recommend the pad thai. The place is so BYOB. If you order online, you can also get a discount on your bill. Would recommend to anyone who loves Thai.

The food was actually pretty tasty (would have gone three stars if just judging on that), but both our meals were served lukewarm which I found strange as one of the dishes was soup. Also made me wonder if it sat there on the counter for a while before they served it to us...

Great place, the garlic chicken noodles were really good and the spring rolls in the sauce on the side were really tasty. Gonna have to try all the other noodles next time!

Not bad thia food. I've been eating here since the fire at Thai Classic, which was my favorite. They have a few unique dishes, like Panang curry noodles... But the Panang curry is not the best I've ever had. Just ok. Its byob, that's the best thing about it.

    (3)
  • Vincent Y.

We ordered the Panang noodle curry with vegetables, tofu pad thai and the crab rangoon. Fairly delicious but not too spectacular. Crab Rangoon: Fried, creamy, exactly what you want and expect. Tofu Pad Thai: Definitely best dish we ordered. Nice kick without being overwhelming and not too salty. Panang noodle curry: Strange, strange dish. The noodles were fried to the point that they were hard. The vegetables weren't bad. It certainly didn't taste bad but it was quite confusing what the dish was doing. The noodles tasted much better after we microwaved the leftovers.

The spicy chili noodles are 5 stars! Everything else is pretty good, but not as good as those chili noodles. Ask for them extra spicy!

Not exactly sure how I have lived in Lincoln Park for the past 10 months and completed my first year of graduate school at neighboring DePaul and had never been here, but that is what happened. Boy, was a I missing out! Hello, new favorite neighborhood Thai place! Here's the scoop: small indoor area, but the entire wall opens up to the patio. The food is solid, and comes out quickly. The staff is friendly and the price is right. Everything I have tried so far is good. Sure, there's better, spicier Thai in Chi, but if you are in Lincoln Park or go to DePaul, I recommend you trot over on a study break.

I always order delivery from Noodles in the Pot. The chicken pad Thai is so delicious! The food always arrives in a timely manner and is still hot!

I was pleasantly surprised by this Thai place! I love a good Pad Thai, and it's been a while since I've had one that's truly remarkable. I dined here last night and their Pad Thai was one of the best I've ever had! They gave a decent amount, too. My friend had the NP Pad Thai, which was also very good. The only downside was that the service wasn't fantastic. However, I will be back!

Take Out: placed and order here, first time ever. Packaged wonderfully. Food is by far the best around. BBQ pork with broccoli & Chicken Pad See Ew are GREAT (if not the best) dishes. Also tried a chicken noodle soup and cucumber salad, both to die for. So many different favors (spicy, sweet, savory, etc.). Meals are sized large, and prices are just right. A+ take out experience!! *take out only took 15 mins on a Saturday night

This is my favorite Thai food place in the neighborhood. I searched high and low for 5 years while I lived in the city and nothing lived up to my expectations. Finally I had to venture a little farther from my house to find Noodles in the Pot. I was skeptical at first since all of the other Thai places I had tried had been a disappointment. We ordered fried shu mai (shrimp) as an appetizer which was yummy and perfectly fried. We were off to a good start but my main concern was whether or not they would be able to meet my expectations for the main course. I ordered the Pad Thai and my husband ordered the Chicken Panang Curry. It was UH-MAY-ZING and they have generous portions. Also, having traveled to Thailand my husband and I both agree that these dishes reminded us of the ones we had while in Thailand. Not only is the food good, the prices are good, they are BYOB, and they have a patio where you can eat outside (and dogs are allowed on the patio, too).

  • Mishal Q.

Let me get straight to the point: Best chicken pad thai I have ever had. Sweet, generous portions, and just plain delicious. I'm craving their pad thai right now! Their lunch special knocks it the price down even further to about $7 I think. I had their spring roll appetizer which was fresh and delicious as well. I had dine in for the first time last week, and I didn't particularly feel like I was being mistreated. Sure, they're not the cheeriest bunch, but they were courteous, efficient, and brought me a refill on my lemonade.

  • Noelle P.

Consistently good take-out. The soups were a little big-- could have easily gotten by with one for two people. All entrees we've tried have been great. The rolls are terrible--weird consistency and flavors. All in all, solid takeout option.

I LOVE this place! I went with a small group and it was some of the best Thai food I have ever had. I live way to far to be there as often as I would like, but it is worth the hour and a half drive. The egg rolls and crab rangoons were amazing!! There were 4 of us and we ended up getting a second plate of both. I had the shrimp panang and it was amazing! I did miss not having some rice to pick up all the yummy sauce with but I took some of my husbands. He had the spicy basil and was very happy with it!! I have told everyone that like Thai to go there no matter how far it is. I can not wait to make the trip back!

One of my favorite Thai places. I usually get the pad Thai or the coconut curry chicken which are excellent. It's byob, their prices are reasonable and they have daily lunch specials. In the summer they also have a nice outdoor patio where you can eat.

  • Jeanette R.

Love love love all of the food I've tried here! Panag curry( I ask for steamed wide rice noodles) pad prik with beef, chicken coconut curry is yummy!! crab Rangoon is amazing although I agree they are small! I wish they would add a couple more to the lunch special. I'm a huge fan of Thai food and it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to food. Definitely give them a shot!

  • Chris J.

Ordered online and they were here 20 min later. Not bad... given it was a Sunday night, they probably weren't that busy, but still, impressive speed. Got some tom yum soup (really good), pot stickers (decent), and green curry w/ chicken (decent, but have def. had better). Overall the food was more like a 3-3.5, but the speed with which it arrived bumbs it up to a 4.0.

Noodles in the Pot is my go-to spot for Thai. The pad thai is definitely great, but the really amazing dish is the pad woon sen. I've tried it with chicken, I've tried it with beef, I've tried it with shrimp. All are amazing! Sometimes my roommates from DePaul and I used to order delivery from them twice in one day! Although, that is pathetic and we admit that, it was worth it. The delivery drivers never made fun of us to our faces for making multiple trips to our apartment in a typical day/week. :) I moved out of the immediate area but not the delivery zone! Thank god!!!!!!

  • Eric N.

I go here for lunch occasionally. Good food, good portions. Nice lunch specials, and the staff is friendly but not in your face. Food comes fast, which is a good thing to me. It's not haute cuisine, but for lunch and regular meals, definitely recommended.

The best Thai I've had so far in Chicago. Extremely affordable, and speedy service, too. Order take-out online and get 15% off automatically- nice! One of the few places that I regularly visit. If you're in Lakeview, check out their sister restaurant, Joy's, which has the same menu. Joy's has a slightly nicer atmosphere inside, but Noodles in the Pot looks like it has a great outdoor patio-- looking forward to trying it out next summer. Best dishes? Chicken Pad Thai and Beef Crazy Noodles. Their non-fried spring rolls are unique and make for a good appetizer.

  • J B.

This is the best cheap Thai place in Chicago, hands-down. 8 bucks an entree. Plus it's BYOB, so you can really splurge on the sit-down. The seating is comfortable, the service spectacular, and the food top-notch. Highly recommended: the soups, spinach noodles, and curries. Not so hot: spring rolls and salads. Plus parking is occasionally iffy--but hey, it's cheap and in a great neighborhood.

Found this by chance today. Pad See Ewe and Chicken Coconut Curry dishes were amazing. The restaurant is quaint, but proves not to disappoint. Next time I plan on taking advantage of BYOB with some friends. Great find!

Why oh why did it take me six months to find this place? Its like looking back on a wasted youth and realizing there's so much you could have, should have done...good thing theres still time. Crispy Pad See Ew, perfectly delectable Crab Rangoon, a $7 lunch that fills you up and only leaves you wanting more because of the taste and not small portions, what a goldmine. Not to mention if you ask them to kick up the heat (like my dining date did with the Panang Noodles) they kick into high gear, but with a warning. Awesome service, under ten minutes from seating did we receive our piping hot dishes, well seasoned, saucy, and perfect. Exactly what I wanted. Living by one food rule, so as not to 'lose more childhood,' I will frequent NITP and try another dish, not forgetting my original love, but letting its friends take a shot at the star attraction. This is a must for anyone looking for great Thai.

Pretty good food, but my tummy still belongs to Thai Bowl when it comes to Thai. I ordered the pad see-ew, crab rangoon, and beef fried rice. The online ordering process was painless and efficient. If you order online, they give you a 15% discount on your order. Pretty cool! My order was ready by the time I got there. They asked my name, swiped my card, and I was out within a minute. If they could all be this easy.... Now, on to the food. The crab rangoon was alright, but small. I also detected a hint of garlic, which I'm not a big fan of. The pad see-ew was pretty good, although someone who had tasted it said that the broccoli wasn't that fresh. I liked it anyway. The beef fried rice was good, but it was buried by green onions on top. And what's with the piece of lemon? I expected lime. Noodles in the pot offers some good food at good prices, and the ordering system online is great, but I'll stick with Thai Bowl. 3.5 stars (shame on yelp for the inability to give partial stars!) Their website is joysnoodlesandrice.com/n…

I love this place! For the price you get the food is A+, I love the Pad Thai, get it extra spicy, I think it is the best in town. The lunch special is great because the food is reduced price. Wait staff is pretty friendly, always helpful and fast on service, food is fast and if you just want to pick up it is very easy. I would highly suggest Noodles in a Pot for anyone looking for a good meal for a great price.

Best place for the money! I've been going there for 5 years and the beef pad thai with chicken sattay for an appetizer just doesn't taste as good any where else. Certainly not 100% authentic, but delicious. (Mouth is watering as I write this) BYOB is a big plus. And the staff is attentive. Parking is gonna be a hassle so take a cab or avoid driving there on a Thurs-Sat night.

  • Rachelle G.

Prices have gone up again, but still definitely an affordable meal, plus it's BYOB w/ no corkage and a nice patio for outdoor seating. If you have yet to try it, definitely order the pad see eiw beef crispy with chinese broccoli. Everyone that has tried this with me orders it over and over again. I now return exclusively for this, no other Thai restaurant has been able to replicate it to my liking.

My favorite BYOB restaurant in Lincoln Park and my favorite Thai restaurant in the city. I dont mean to sound redundant but if you are going to this place for the first time you have to get the chicken coconut curry. I ordered it off the menu on a whim and it was amazing, and after looking at their yelp reviews it looks like everyone else in Chicago agrees with me. It is a popular place to bring a date and why wouldn't it be, great food, fast service, outdoor seating, and BYOB. I go with my brohemes usually and have an awesome time. I would tell the waiters to decrease the amount of lurking. I hate when servers lurk.

  • James N.

AWESOME! I used to go to Joy's (same owners and as far as I know it's the same food) but switched to Noodles in the Pot because it's closer. I always get the Yellow Coconut Curry with Tofu and it's always on the money. Best Curry I've had in Chicago by far. They also have delicious Spring Rolls. I usually just get take out but when I do eat there the service is fine and they have a super sweet outdoor seating area... Great for summer evenings. They will NOT disappoint!

  • Rita M.

DELICIOUS!! This was my first experience with Pad See Eiw and it was PHENOMENAL! My friend suggested it for this reason alone and this place did not disappoint. We didn't take advantage that night however, it is also BYOB which is a great perk and has a GORGEOUS outdoor patio with little twinkling lights. We went right at dusk and it was such a lovely Summer night. I will continue to go here over and over again. LOVED IT!

As a noodle lover and a resident of Lincoln Park, I've had difficulty finding a good place to go for noodles close-by, versus going up north to Viet town or the Asian area. Then came along Noodles in a Pot! I first heard of the place through my landlord and she raved about how much she loved it, I decided to go. And what do you know, I was satisfied! They serve pretty good Thai food, I've ordered the Pad Thai and Pad See Eiw (which I'm in love with). Although I haven't done it yet, the place is BYOB. I've been back 3 times in 2 weeks so I'd definitely recommend it if you have a craving for some tasty noodles!

  • Gareth D.

Cheap, solid food and nice patio -- feels quite peaceful for being off Halsted St (in LP). Same owners as Joy's (Lakeview), which is also a good bet for casual Thai dining. I'm not a huge fan of the wet coconut-based curried dishes with rice noodles -- prefer my curry over rice. I would go with the pad see-ewe, drunken noodles or pad thai type noodle standards if you want to go the noodle route. I feel like you can eat quite healthfully here if you desire to, by going easy on the starch.

    (4)
  • Kate F.

We always order the same things: summer rolls, chicken pad thai or beef pad see ew, drunken noodles. Everything is above average - not overly greasy, good-sized portions. I love the summer rolls - big pieces of pineapple, peanut dipping sauce. They also have frozen bubble tea drinks, which are great for sipping on the way home (this is my walking-distance thai place, so we usually grab take out).

  • Bibby L.

This place was reasonably priced, but not the BEST Thai I've ever had. I just had mixed veggies w/ sauce, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Servers were attentive and pleasant, but not incredibly friendly. My sister frequents this place and raves about it, so maybe I'll give it another chance.

With a name like Noodles in the Pot, you know exactly what you're getting. Noodles. But allow me to elaborate. I've ordered from here a few times via Grub Hub. From their fairly comprehensive Thai menu, I've tried the following: Pot Stickers, Tofu Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Crazy Noodles, and Chicken Pad Thai. The Pot Stickers themselves are nothing spectacular; however, the sesame sauce that comes with them is strangely addicting. I'm tempted to just order the sauce, but dipping my fingers or a spoon is way less exotic. Which is why we all eat Thai food, right? As for the Crazy Noodles and Pad Thai, both are excellent noodle dishes on par with some of the better Thai restaurants I've been to in both flavor and quantity. All the ingredients are fresh, the chicken is really, really tender, and the noodles are cooked just right. As I said before, they certainly live up to their name with these particular dishes. The real highlight for me has been their Tom Yum Soup. The broth is a delicious coalescing of flavors--ranging from the spiciness of the chili to the sweetness and sour of the lemongrass/citrus leaves/lime juice, with undertones of oysters/fish. Top it off with tomatoes, straw mushrooms, and tofu and you've got yourself one decent-sized bowl of awesome.

Wait...did I just eat Thai food? It sure didn't taste like it. I liked the veggies, even the extra large stem on my broccoli and the dry chicken was aight. Oh, and the wierd peanuty-salty sauce was kind of okay. Please, also add an extra leaf of romaine lettuce underneath my peanuty-salty sauce (?!) and some more chives. Mmmmm....tasty! The yellow walls really compliment the bright florescent lighting too, goes really well in the weird atrium dining room in the back. I'm going to give this place a chance if possible for lunch, those specials everyone is talking about sound doable. That is, if I happen to be in the area, but otherwise going to stay away as to avoid my current case of peanuty-salty sauce heartburn.

This is one of my absolute favorite places. I have absolutely no complaints except that I live way too far from it. Their panang curry with crispy wide rice noodles is the best I've had anywhere. I've tried several things on the menu and have never tasted anything questionable. EVERYTHING is delicious! And it's BYOB! I once went there with my husband and 2 of his cousins and the boys brought a case of beer. We had to wait for a table so they provided us an ice bucket while we waited to keep the beer cold. I've tried many Thai places and this is by far my favorite. The lunch specials are reasonable and you get a lot of food. We make the drive down there as often as we can.

Consistently good food, delivery is usually quick. Been ordering from them for years and I don't think I've ever been disappointed. A couple of my favorites include spring rolls and panang chicken.

Fastest noodles in the "west ....of Clark St" ??? Well - no matter how you want to say it, this food came out amazingly fast. I fear the taste of my Pad Thai may have suffered a little from the quickness. I enjoyed the appetizer of fresh veggie rolls with a warm peanut sauce for dipping, more than my noodles dish. But it was all good, especially for the price. 2 people wined, dined and appetized for $21....worth it? Hell yes it was worth 21 bucks! I'm giving an extra star for the outdoor seating. Its a lovely garden setting, with hanging lights above for extra ambiance. I'd come here again just to sit there and hang out! I'd say check it out, you def wont be disappointed...its not like you spent a fortune or anything!

Noodles In The Pot was one of my favorite places to eat in Chicago. The interior is well lit and very stylish. On nice days there is a massive garage door that opens up the dining room the their outdoor patio, which is my favorite place to eat. I forget what I had the first time, but I know it was tasty and very reasonably priced. I got to sample my friend Pat's Pad Thai and it was awesome. I've only had one dish that I thought was a little bit lacking in flavour, but it was still tasty... just a little bland. Give it a shot some time!

  • Amy R.

Good luck getting a seat at the cute outdoor patio section alongside this place. It seems only a few non-burger joints have outdoor seating, and this is one of my faves. Very good food, up there as one of the best places in the area. And BYOB! What's not to love?

    (4)
  • Justin G.

I wish you could give half stars. I don't quite think it's four stars, but it's better than three. Good food, but not great. My biggest problem with the menu is the homogeneity. Oh ho, apparently that's the right spelling for a word I wasn't sure existed. Being Asian, I know what Asian food consists of. Noodles, vegetables, rice, and meat. Or any permutation of the four. I have no problem with the basic structure, but a lot of the permutations at Noodles taste the same to me. It's a good taste, but not unique. Seating is nice. The outdoor area is excellent as well. BYOB is a plus. It's a very solid place to go. Just...not great.

I'm what you would call a BYOB devotee. My girlfriends and I scour the city in search of the perfect BYOBs....and finally, we happened upon Noodles in the Pot....a perfect location just down the street from the liquor store on Halsted and Wrightwood. Cute little joint with a cute little outdoor patio. A huge problem we run into eating at BYOBs on a weekend night is a lack of seating. I have yet to wait for a table at Noodles..this is even more impressive when you consider the impeccable quality of the thai food they serve. My fav dish is the pad see eew with mixed veggies...yup...its got everything from mini corns and broccoli to bean sprouts and green and white onions. Not spicy, but flavorful and delicious. My friend is faithful to the ever-famous pad thai. She orders it without peanuts..but I suggest trying them...flavor, my friends, flavor! The crab rangoon is worth noting...it's crispiness is its best feature...Haven't tried the Crazy Noodles yet..but I've heard nothing but good things. This is a place where you could try anything and be satisfied, so experiment!!! Noodle's is a great place to go with friends before you head out on the town. It's super inexpensive so you won't empty your wallet before you hit the bars...or you could even make it a night there enjoying drinks with your friends before you head home for the night....unlike other BYOBs, they don't rush you through dinner to make room for more customers. BUT PLEASE NOTE: the food is sooo good, it's hard not to fill up to the point of becomign lethargic...MY SUGGESTION: head there early so you have some time to marinate before you head out for the night.

  • Kristin B.

I loooove this place! Since it's so close to DePaul, my classmates and I head here quite often before/after a class or study session. Pad Thai is some of the best I've tasted, cashew chicken equally as yummy and the lunch special from 11-3 is a great deal (appetizer and entree for 6-7 bucks)...and there is always enough food for leftovers! :)

    (5)
  • J. V.

My favorite Thai in Lincoln Park....Great lunch specials. Everything is fresh and they are great with picky eaters like me. You can omit or substitute any veggie or get extra... Be warned...the tofu is very fried, so if you think you are getting something healthier in your noodle dish by opting for tofu, it is fried and possibly fried again. Also, if you get something with shrimp, I think you literally get 3 shrimp... But still my favorite...hands down. Favorite dishes: mini egg rolls, pot stickers, wonton soup, pad woon sen and pad khee mao (sp?)

  • Greg U.

Finally found a panang curry worth going out of my way for! I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a side of rice to sop up the rest. I recommend getting with the vegetables... The patio garden is great considering the blah location on Halsted. Staff was friendly a well.

your safe thai place, where the dish is almost the same every time. good ingredients, consistent and affordable. and it fills me up. recipes are simple, still tasty. sometimes skimpy on the meat portions. waitstaff can afford to loose the resentful attitude they often emit.

Ohhhhh I love this place so much. Here are a few reasons why: 1. It's called "Noodles in the Pot," for crying out loud! 2. BYOB 3. Nice outdoor patio seating! 4. Really inexpensive, but they still always have coupons in the bulk junk mailer packs (so don't immediately throw those away! you never know what you'll find...) 5. Avocado in the spring rolls! Yeahhh! 6. Same menu as Joy's on Broadway, so you can mix it up if you like a change of scenery :) My favorite main dishes are the Crazy Noodles and Chicken Coconut Curry. Finish it off with a Thai Iced Coffee and you'll be a happy camper!

So I had noodles in the pot today for lunch at work and it was great! I had the coconut chicken curry and it was very good. The portions are large and the delivery was so fast that they either have esp or they are cooking in the car on the way over.

I would kill a man for some noodles in the pot right now. I now live in LA, where there is a massive Thai population full of hundreds of great restaurants. Not a single one of them comes close to Noodles in the Pot. It's sooo good, and so unbelievably cheap for what it is.

This is a great place for lunch; it's walkable for me, so colleagues and I often head over for their lunch specials, which include a starter (cucumber salad, spring rolls, crab rangoons, or the cutest mini egg rolls) and one of many choices for your main course - and all for about $6 or less. I myself am a big fan of the Panang Curry, extra spicy (which they definitely comply with), chicken. The service is nearly always incredibly fast and it is sometimes also friendly. Nevertheless, the food is good and plentiful, and in the summer they have a capacious outdoor seating area. I've never called for delivery; somehow, Noodles is now inevitably associated with lunch.

Let's just talk about noodles for a few minutes. To me, there is almost nothing better in the world then a good asian noodle dish, whether it be thai, chinese, or vietnamese noodle soups. Noodles in a pot sure does have a whole lot of noodle dishes to choose from, and they are all pretty damn good. It's BYOB, which is always nice, the service is really fast, and the food is good for the right price. This is defiantly a place to try if you're looking for noodles.

I have been to this place for the last past 3 years. I never had one bad experience. I love their lunch special. It is really cheap. They serve food really fast. Probably only 10 mins, everything is on the table. My favorate is their Coconut Chicken Curry Noodles and Garlic Chicken Noodles.

Decent food - not greasy - plus great prices. I have had most of the lunch menu and everything is solid. I would recommend the Rama Chicken because the broccoli is perfect. Most of the Fullerton Dominick's receipts have a 2-for-1 dinner coupon that makes it a great bargain.

We always order delivery from this place whenever we are feeling too lazy to go out and get something, so we've never dined inside. Delivery is always timely and the food is pretty good. What I love the most is that their food is consistently tasty (I've been a customer for about 2 years).

I've eaten here at few times, and god knows I love the BYOB (which it is), but it's my favorite for take-out/delivery. Scuba Steve and I get it once a week, and while we always get the good old Thai staples (Pad Thai and Coconut Chicken Curry), they haven't let us down yet.

We love this place! We always have food delivered and it comes very quickly, plus the prices are reasonable. Some favorites of ours: golden noodles, pad sei ew, and pad thai. Their crab rangoon is delicious too, but that's hard to mess up. My only complaint is that they don't give enough of the chili sauce on the side--we like a lot and they only give you one small container even when you order two entrees.

I consider myself a thai food connoisseur. I recently tried this place for the first time and have ordered it for delivery 5 times in 4 weeks. It has never disappointed. Everything I have tried, including the Beef Salad (spicy) is really superb. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are generous. Their online ordering system is easy and offers a discount as well. Keep up the good work! For the price, portions, and quality -- this place is overall fantastic. Adam

Why I love Noodles in the Pot. 1) It is BYOB. I can't even count how many meals I have had here that were a great way to start off a night out. They can have big groups too. Been going here since 2005 and I wont stop anytime soon 2) The ridiculous fast service. You go in starving and within 10 minutes of placing your order? Hot fresh yummy noodles. 3) The Bai Tong Noodles, the Spicy Chili Noodles and the Mandalay Noodles. The Bai Tong noodles are spinach noodles in a sweet sort of sauce with some spice-I like it with double order of vegetables...no meat or tofu. The Spicy Chili noodles are thick wide noodles that hold onto the sauce really well. Good and nice and spicy. The Mandalay are just awesome. Spicy, good and yum. 4) It is 15% off your order for a short time if you order online. 5) They give you lots of water 6) It is a great place to share with friends 7) My out of town friends love it 8) Their takeaway containers can be reused 9) It is so cheap (do they still do the buy one get one free coupons on the back of Dominick's receipts? I go to Jewel now as it is closer so I don't know...) 10) The portions are pretty good sized 11) It is a great place to do family style. 12) I should not write this review right before lunch. *one weird thing...last time we ordered we were charged $2.23 for extra peanut sauce. That seemed to be a little excessive?

Pad Thai and Panang Curry make me drool whenever I want Thai food. So far this is my favorite Thai place.

This restaurant is fantastic. By far my favorite Thai place in Chicago. The food is always fresh and tasty. They have BYOB which is big plus and really nice outside garden. The service is quick and polite. The food is delivered faster then in most places. My favorite dish is Shrimp Pad Prik Noodles. The prices are pretty good too, although they raised them recently by a buck or two which was a little bit disappointing. Either way for value, food quality and BYOB this is as good as it gets for Thai Restaurant.

I can't believe I even have to write this review. I went there tonight and waited by the front door for someone to greet and seat me and I was completely ignored. I walked down the street, turned around and came back. They asked me how many, I said, "Just me"...and they waved me to another part of the restaurant. I sat for more than 10 MINUTES and no one came by to even give me a drink of water. They were so beyond rude and I will never be back. It's a shame because their menu looked great. I don't normally dine alone but I had a gig at a location nearby and I wanted some dinner before my show. I was dressed nice...not sure why they had to be so rude. I'm never going back.

This place is consistently good and cheap...and I love them for it. I love that I can go to Noodles and not have to worry about ordering something I don't like. Everything new I try I like. Rather than try and spell the dishes names, I'll just recommend that you order something involving noodles. Their tofu is really good in any of the dishes too! Additionally, they deliver, and they're BYOB...no wonder it gets full a lot! They have so many tables though, especially during the warm months, you can usually get one! Check it out if you're ever on Halsted looking for some good noodles!

  • Lauren L.

Extremely good cheap food. This is a staple Thai place, the seating is sometimes cramped though, and waitstaff isn't very friendly. However, getting a huge plate of food for $6.50 and having it taste good, is why i gave it the four.

  • Dee W.

Cheap Thai food - pretty decent. I like their Lad Nar here even if they do chop up the noodles a bit. Parking is a bit tough to find so expect to circle around for a little bit. Came here again after Rachel G insisting that this is one of her favorite Thai places - she promises that service is usually better. We tried their Thai rolls which was crab, shrimp and chicken was really yummy. We then, got their Pad See ew which we should have paid more attention to Rachel G who special ordered hers crispy and with Chinese broccoli which ended up tasting much better than our typical dish!

Noodles in the Pot (also the same company as Joy's in lake view) is on of my favorite places for Thai in Lincoln Park. It's small but I have always found a place to sit and it BYOB which is great. Prices are moderate for Thai food. I love their glass noodles!

I work at DePaul, so Noodles is close and is a favorite for me. Cheap and good lunch specials, and another Thai place that gives discounts for online orders. Definitely recommend the coconut curry chicken.

i've been a fan of this place for a year or so now and it's never been disappointing. i'm pretty sure i've tried one of everything on the menu.. the rice, noodles, and the curry. i've pretty much settled on the pad woon sen nowadays because it's so good. but everything else is great. i'm a fan of spicey food and this place has the goods. if you're sick of getting bad thai food make this place your spot in lincoln park.

This is one of my favs in LP. I have been eating here since I went to DePaul. Its a nice, quite restaurant that has indoor and outdoor seating which is great in the summer. It's also byob so you don't have to worry about being up-charged on cheap wine. My favs are the chicken satay, fried tofu, and golden noodles. I have never had anything there that I didn't love.

    (4)
  • Shannon F.

Amazing prices and above average Thai food make this BYOB spot a great local LP haunt. I went this past Friday with a group of about 20 loud, obnoxious patrons and they not only tolerated our antics but were completely friendly and accomodating! Service was great and very, very quick! After reading reviews on yelp I went with the coconut chicken curry which was incredibly tasty. I also tried a few appetizers and the crab rangoon was wonderful. I think the total bill was about $13 a person including appetizers...(!) Definitely a delicious, cheap, friendly spot. I do prefer Cozy Noodles because the ambiance is a bit better but this is another great, hidden gem!

Yum! I'm going to keep this short and sweet. My trip here was very spur of the moment and it was late so we didn't order a ton of food. I had the Pad Khee Mao which was good. My biggest issue with ordering this dish is that the noodles are often soggy and bland. Not the case here, they were very sweet to to offset the spicy and they weren't soggy at all. I would definitely go back to try another entree and some of the appetizers when I have a bigger appetite.

Noodles in the Pot made my transition from Lakeview to Lincoln Park a lot easier to handle. I have always loved Joy's, so I am very happy to have this establishment 3 blocks away. Noodles is BYOB, and they have an awesome outdoor seating area in the summer. My favorite dish is the Cashew Chicken and the spring rolls are awesome. Fast, fresh and delicious!

All the musts for a return visit. Friendly servers, good service, reasonable prices and great food with a menu that offers a good variety of dishes. The outdoor area is nice and it appears they allow dogs to join their owners while dining al fresco. Having a golden retriever that goes most everywhere with me this is a big plus. There is also a huge garage style door on the side of the dining room that opens to the patio and gives a fresh, airy feeling to the restaurant. We started with the cucumber salad - it's a refreshing starter or a great side dish to cool off your mouth after eating a hot and spicy curry. We also had the crab rangoon. If you like fried and I do like fried they were great, served crispy, creamy and crunchy. I had the green curry chicken - perfect heat, crisp vegetables, wonderful coconut curry flavor. The dish was served in a bowl with lots of sauce and rice on the side. My wife had the BBQ-ed pork with ginger sauce. Although they don't mention vegetables on the menu, it was served with lots of bright green and crunchy broccoli around the edge of the plate (not in the sauce). She loved this dish because of it's light sauce and plethora of ginger. The server said they can make the ginger sauce dish with any protein, like shrimp, chicken, tofu, ect. It's nice to know they will make that extra effort to give you what you want. The entrees are large enough for 2 people but not that crazy too-much-food-size and for 8 bucks is a good deal. Great experience will be a staple on my dining repertoire.

I was here about two weeks ago and I have to say I can't wait to go back. Everything I had was super tasty and fresh. We started with fried tofu and shrimp wanton soup. I would def order both again. For an main course we both ordered chicken pad thai. Next time I go this is all I am going to order. It was fantastic! Super tender chicken and amazing flavor. You can order to it to the hotness you prefer which is always a big plus!

I like many others lived at Noodles in the Pot during my time at DePaul. It is cheap, BYOB, and the staff is always friendly. I still find myself craving the Pad See Eiw!! I now order take out mostly, they offer a 10% discount if you order directly from their web site. It is about 2 miles from my house, it always comes piping hot!

The panang curry was amazing -- crispy flat noodles soaked in rich curry awesomeness. Got too excited and chugged the rest of my curry at the end, wasn't a good afternoon for my stomach but I'm over it. Pad kee mao was decent. Good prices, nice outdoor seating.

My favorite Thai place that I've been to in Chicago thus far, which may be a bit unfair since I have good memories since this was the place I went to the first night I moved into the city. All of that aside though, they do have really good food for extremely cheap. The drinks there are also really good- all sorts of great bubble teas, etc. Also, be sure to get here on a nice night, because the outdoor seating area is great- and it's byob, so you don't have to pay those expensive restaurant booze prices(just the expensive store ones).

My friends and I frequented this restaurant often while I was a student at DePaul, and though I have recently graduated I often head to Noodles in the Pot when I'm hungry in Lincoln Park. If the mood strikes us, we bring a bottle of wine with us, as the restaurant is BYOB. The lunch specials are a good deal. They come with an individual portion of an appetizer and a healthy portion of whatever entree you order. I also come here often for dinner. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the spring rolls. My entree favorites include any of the curries as well as the pad see eiw. Though I'm not a vegetarian, I love tofu and I order all my dishes here with tofu. It is absolutely delicious. Thai food is pretty much my favorite food, and this is one of my favorite places to go for it.

  • Aleks M.

I love this place! The food always tastes great. I recommend the Curry dishes or the Pad Kee Mao. In the summer they have a cute outdoor seating area. Plus, you can't beat the prices. I would consider this place to be good for grabbing dinner during the week or even Saturday lunch as it's probably not fancy or anything for a first date.

I'm a big noodle guy and have been somewhat dissapointed at the selection in Chicago. Noodles in the Pot was a pleasant surprise. Drunken noodles are very good but my definite favorite is the spicy chili noodles. As the name suggests the noodles are well spiced and have a great sauce with a chili paste base that glazes the noodles. Goes great with the Tom Yum soup, which when mixed with a little extra heat is really good. I'm not a huge fan of the pad thai but my roommate seems to like it. The appetizers are fine, but nothing memorable.

  • Jason G.

Since I love Joy's, when the bf and I were walking by Noodles and were hungry, we stopped in. I decided to try something new and was not pleased with the tom yum soup. The menu didn't say it had oyster sauce in it and it tasted very fishy. They were kind enough to take it back and remove it from the bill. The pad thai was not as good as at Joy's. Just bland and blah. They also didn't seem as attentive with the service as I have experienced at the other location. A good example of an identical menu not resulting in an identical experience.

  • Patty D.

My husband and I used to go here more often and after trying different Thai places... I realized that this place is just mediocre... or has gotten that way in the past two years. I like the outdoor patio in the summer, but they definitely need to clean the tables more often. The food has gotten a little tasteless, like I mentioned... There's just too many Thai places in the city to try... this one is just okay.

  • Sweet D C.

I absolutely love this place! My boyfriend turned me on to it and I am hooked. The fried rice is amazing, and I have tried pretty much all of the spicy dishes and love them all. I especially love that the veggies are fresh and crisp in all the dishes. I agree that the service is just ok but it is definitely worth it!

went here once during the busy lunch time and i had the larb chicken salad while the other people with me had the lunch special which allows you to pick and entree and appetizer for less than 7 bux. i thought it was pretty good and everyone else enjoyed what they had. it was great prices and cheap esp the lunch deals. i'll def go back

Before I found my lifelong love Yen's, this was my go-to place when I had an asian craving. It's thai, but I love getting the beef and broccoli rice dish. Definitely one of the best I've had in the city (again, until Yen's). Delivery service is fast and reliable. I'm just now realizing that I've never actually been TO Noodles in the Pot ...but when I can stuff my face from the comfort of my couch why would i want to go there? I've been told by my bf that their pad see ew is not nearly as good as others he has had, so unfortunately I think this place is off the list. But I felt i should pay due respect to my ex asian food place.

  • Cathy J.

When at a Thai restaurant, I always go straight to the curry section of the menu, spend minutes choosing between the reds and greens but always end up ordering red panang. I give Noodles In the Pot three stars because I wasn't too impressed with their panang curry. However, if I were a pad see ew fan, NIP would earn five bright stars...while everything else on the menu is OK, the pad see ew is pad see woohoo!

    (3)
  • Mikie B.

What isn't there to love about Noodles in the Pot? I've probably had everything on the menu at least twice, but these are my favorites: * The panang curry rocks! It is unique (to here and Joy's, it's twin sister) in that it's served over a bed of crispy, wide rice noodles. It's fantastic this way; you won't want the usual bowl of rice again after trying it this way. * The pad see eiw with chicken or beef is also very good. It's a little closer to authentic style (with pan-seared noodles). * For appetizers, note that pretty much everything but the satays and the spring rolls are fried. * During the summer, they have courtyard seating that practically doubles the space. Not that I've ever had to wait for a table here, but it is some great, somewhat secluded outdoor seating amidst the busy Halsted-Fullerton-Lincoln intersection. It's not every day that I give a 5 star review on Yelp, but Noodles in the Pot has been delivering consistently for the 8 years I've been eating here.

Ok, i have an above average love of Asian and Thai food so this place is a no-brainer. I have a special affinity for chicken basil and try it wherever I go. Now, this place does not compare to the food stalls in Bangkok but it does pretty darn well for Chicago. They have a wide variety of options and they will make it as spicy as you want which is a huge plus (just don't go nuts with it or you'll regret it the next morning). I love the outdoor garden in the summer and am a fan of the value lunch.

When I was an undergrad at DePaul Noodles in the Pot was a weekly staple. They are speedy, inexpensive, and always tasty! The Pad Thai is my favorite in the city.

Hands down the best veggie fried rice in the city! Great smokey flavor to the rice and all the vegetables are at the right crispness. If youre looking for a super attentive staff you might not find it here... However I like being left alone while I devour my food. The price is amazing as well! It was around $20 for food drinks and apps.

My boyfriend and I just finished our takeout from Noodles in the Pot, and I was compelled to create a Yelp account simply so I could post my comments about the food we just experienced. It should be noted that Noodles has incredibly fast service and a convenient internet ordering system--they were able to process our order 20 minutes before their closing time. They also gave us two spring rolls on the house. So I really don't relish spilling Haterade all over this restaurant, but the food that we got this evening really does deserve a one-star rating and you, dear Yelper, deserve to be saved from their awful soup. My Pad Khee Mao was full of withered basil leaves that tasted past their prime. My boyfriend's fried tofu was rubbery. The only good thing about his Phuket Noodles was that it's kind of fun to say their name if you're fairly immature; once that's over, you're left with something that resembles and smells like stale ramen noodles. Last but not least, the Tom Yum soup should be entered in some sort of inedible foods competition. Its broth lacked the sourness and heat I expect in my Tom Yum--it had a bizarre and totally unappetizing sweetness to it--and the tofu's texture was gummy and tough. Worst of all was the unidentifiable, leafy herb that overpowered every spoonful with weedy flavor. Whatever this greenish-brown stuff was, it certainly wasn't fresh. Less than half a bowl of this soup left such a foul aftertaste that I gave up on it in favor of consuming a large piece of apple strudel and half a bottle of India Pale Ale in a vain attempt to erase the experience from my mouth. So to make a long story short, if you want a really quick meal that's loaded with flaccid, once-green vegetation, Noodles In The Pot is an excellent choice.

I've had a ton of good Thai food in San Francisco and I was quite amazed at this place in Chicago. It definitely re-nourished me after a night out in town and frankly if I go back to Chicago, I would definitely want to come back here. I also had some appetizer thing that was like mini rice rolls w/ avos & sweet sauce on it and whatever the hell it was...it was deeeeeelicious!

  • Hana K.

I like coming here for a quick Thai lunch. I've never tried dinner here but I like their simple lunch special which is simplified, gives you a perfect portion of appetizer. Their spring roll is thin and tastes more like the spring roll wrap then an actual spring roll (where the content should be peeking through the thin wrap) and the sauce on top is very sweet (like sweet and sour sauce almost?) which I am not a fan of. They should use less wrap or more content for that but I do enjoy their coconut Thai curry.

Yum! Yum! Yum! This place is great. I live in the West Loop and travel the 10 minutes it takes down Halsted St. just to get my Noodles in the Pot fix. I probably eat here at least 4 times a month. The staff is very nice and the food is fresh and speedy! I always get the drunk noodles and share the dumpling and baby egg roll appetizer. the crab rangoon isn't too bad either! They've got an amazing lunch special that's only 6-7 bucks! Delicious food for a great price =)

This is a good place for a quick bite. The food is good, and the portions are large. The service is attentive and quick! The prices are inexpensive and it's byob. The ambiance is a little lacking - but the place is clean and the staff is curteous.

This is my favorite place to go to in the summer; they have a really nice patio and they are BYOB. Although NITP isn't my favorite Thai food in the city, their food is cheap and the service is good and fast. Their food always consistent and we have never walked away disappointed or hungry. Our favorite dishes are the Thai rolls, Pad Thai, Pad Prik Noodles, and Pad Kee Mao Noodles.

A friend introduced me to Joy's, which is Noodles in the Pot's other location (on Broadway just north of Belmont). They have the exact same menu. The first time I ate at Joy's I really enjoyed my food. Everything is really reasonably priced, and the portions are very fair as well. I love the spring rolls. After having them at Joy's I thought about them for about a week! I ended up ordering delivery from Noodles in the Pot tonight and they spring rolls as well as the noodles were just as good. Delivery driver was nice and if you order online they give you a 15% discount. Our order was perfect--exactly as ordered and very quick to arrive. I love this place.

To me, Thai food is Thai food. It's enjoyable, but not mind-blowing to me. But what I always enjoyed about this place was the way they'd leave you alone outside and let you bring whatever alcoholic beverage you desired (I once had a buddy bring half a handle of Captain Morgan and no one cared) and just let you hang out with your friends and enjoy the night. It's the exact same place as Joy's on Broadway (I'm sure I'm not the first Yelper to mention that), and the same experience. Great times

  • Robin W.

I've been here once and probably won't go again with so many other Asian spots around. I basically only went a couple months ago because the gay pride parade was going down Halsted and this place had outdoor seating on Halsted when I was hungry. I ordered the panang curry, which is one of my favorite thai dishes, and was pretty disappointed. The noodles were weird and very crispy without much curry on them. The curry itself was eh. The appetizer (just simple spring rolls) were really odd tasting - not sure what they put in them, but it's definitely not what you usually get when ordering thai food. I will agree with other yelpers who said the service is fast, but beyond that I'm not impressed!

  • Linda N.

Been visting this place over 15 yrs. I love the cucumber salad, the spring rolls are like none I have seen anywhere else, but most especially, their Pad see Eiw (beef) is the best I have had-just the right amount of sweet on the sauce. Nice outdoor patio. When living in Portage Park I would actually carry out and take home on bus when in the Clark/Lincoln/Halsted area. I am eager to go back!

  • Alexis H.

Lincoln Park's version of Joy's (run by the same people & and has the same menu): I like this place, but somehow it's not as good as Joy's. The restaurant is a bit tinier, thus harder to get seating, and for some reason the food is just not as good as it is at their other location. I'd choose Joy's over Noodles any day, but it'll do when I don't feel like fighting for a parking space on Broadway. Good dishes: mini egg rolls, chicken satay, chicken pad siew (sp?), and broccoli & beef

We were in search of a BYOB place very last minute, at about 9:30 in the evening on a Sunday. Granted, I know it was late for dinner, but we came across Noodles in the Pot because it was open, we were starving, and there was ample seating. It took about 5 minutes for someone to give us water and when they did, they left right away. We brought our own beer and white wine, and again, it took forever for them to give us a bucket of ice to keep it all cool. Also, the bucket they gave us was filled with cold water, not ice. When the waitress came to our table she asked if we were ready to order, and when I asked if we could start with an appetizer (since we still were undecided on the main course) she said yes but the kitchen closes in 20 min so order now. SO, she stood over all of us as we looked over the menu very quickly, and I was rushed to order something. Needless to say, we were not impressed with our food. The veggie spring roll was good, but the entre was not that impressive. I may give it another shot at an earlier time, but not anytime soon.

This place is the JAM. I have only ever ordered delivery from here, so I can't speak to the service, but the food is delicious. Their tom yam soup is fragrant, delightfully fishy but not overbearingly so, thanks to the abundance of lemongrass. I could make a meal out of that soup alone, but their noodle and rice dishes can't be beat, either. I haven't tried the whole menu, but I have yet to try something I don't like. So fresh and flavorful!

I got the Pad See Ew, not a fan. I'm usually a Pad Thai guy so maybe that explains it. I will maybe try it again and re-evaluate. But I just tried PS Bangkok 2 and I liked it better. Will be ordering from there next time before Noodles in the Pot.

I'll admit, I only went here because I really liked the idea of sitting on their little patio with the white Christmas lights strung above the tables. I was very suprised to have had one of the best glass noodle dishes ever! The servie was very quick and I'd go back even if the patio was closed. BYOB

  • Mina H.

Decent Thai for cheap, the patio is great if you sit towards the back (away from traffic) on summer days. The servers are always interesting... it's been a while since I've been there (no more working in LP), but the tattoos on the flamboyant TV servers ALWAYS made the workday lunch a little less mundane. Didn't know there were so many X-gendered people in the area..

Went with a friend late Saturday night. I was craving for Thai food (Nothing can be compared to the real food in Bangkok!! That said, I have very "high standard" for Asian food) Service was lukewarm. Food was just OK. Good portion but just not delicious.

  • Ivana V.

Hands down this is my favorite Thai place!!! Any time I am in Lincoln Park, I go here. I'll even make excuses why I need to go to LP just so that I can pick up some Crazy Noodles! Pricing is very reasonable and portions are big :o)

Great, fast reasonably-priced food. The atmosphere isn't amazing, but just what you'd expect: Pan-Asian offerings w/ many curry dishes, noodles, etc. Good stuff.

I was here a couple days ago. I had only sampled thai food before, never really had an entree. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, which was amazing. I will definitely be back again.

I happen to live very close to Noodles in the Pot and it is absolutely, without a doubt, the best thai noodle place I've ever been to. Whether or not it is "authentic" like you'd find in the home country, I don't care. The crazy noodle and NP pad thai are my favorites. The noodles are always cooked perfectly and the flavors are distinct and delicious. If you order online you get 15% off your entire order. I've seen a bunch of reviews here about the service. I don't believe you go to a place where entrees are $7 for service. Yes, the servers may not be the best, but did I mention that THE ENTREES ARE $7?? I recommend this place to every who comes to visit and they are never disappointed!

Pretty good food. Big portions, small-ish prices. It's BYOB, which everyone loves. Went here on a first date and had a great time. Perhaps my rating was influenced by my date's great conversation and good looks?

  • Kelly B.

I went here for dinner and had PRIK PAO NOODLES. Very yummy. The prices were great and the portions large. Plus it's BYOB (there is a liquor store about 2 blocks down the street from the restaurant). The service was so amazingly fast. We had our food within 10 min. of ordering. We sat outside on the patio (did not have to wait for a table) which was nice however once the sun went down the mosquitos came out so if it's muggy you may want to sit inside.

This place is awesome. Everything I've had there was good. And cheap. Come to think of it, I should really eat there much more often. We all probably should.

It has been a while since my last review. But this place made me feel inspired to sweet talk it a little on Yelp. We rolled in to this place rather serendipitously as we searched for a non-burger establishment on this particular stretch of concrete. We walked in void of BYOB, but were immediately impressed with the cuteness. It is like the whole restaurant is outside, and the actual patio is darling. The service was a little slow; there were only two servers for a completely packed joint. I got tired watching them gazelle their way around the small establishment. The prices are great and as is expected of all Thai establishments there was plenty of food to bring home for lunch the next day. Better service and it would have been a 5.

Good, solid, cheap pan-Asian food. Grab a coupon for BOGO entrees(they're on the back of every Dominick's receipt) and check out their pad-see-ewe or green curry. The chicken satay is a little greasy but it's delcious as is the quick-pickled vegetable salad.

Love, love, love this place! Seeing as how Lakeview and Lincoln Park are kind of over-run by byob Thai restaurants I wasn't expecting this place to be as great as it is! After one visit I think it's already my new favorite. The Pad See Ew was the best I've ever had and their appetizers were delicious - I highly recommend the fresh spring rolls and crab rangoon. Not to mention the service was good and FAST and they didn't mind that we sat there for an hour enjoying our wine. I will definitely be back soon.

Favorite Thai spot. This place has never disappointed anyone I have gone with. I have tried quite a bit on the menu and it is all great. The old standby, pad thai, is always good. For a little something different go with the green curry. That is my current favorite dish here... until I find something else.

    (5)
  • Ann Y.

Consistently great thai food- esepcially the pot stickers and the pad thai. I live in Rogers Park and have made the drive even though there are closer places. They have great lunch specials as well as the price is right! I just wish they had one in rogers park.

I rarely eat Thai food anywhere but Noodles in the Pot. The food is always quick and always good. My favorite part: sooo vegetarian friendly! Most Thai places think vegetarian simply means no meat and you end up with a plate of fishy smelling food. Noodles is different. When I say "made vegetarian" the wait staff always replies "no fish sauce? is egg okay?" Be sure to go when the weather is nice and sit on the patio.

I admit it; I am a Thai food slut. I love it. I crave it almost daily. If it were something that I could eat everyday and not turn into the Michelin Man I would, but I digress. I have only had the carry out at this location and GIDDYUP. It is hands down my favorite delivery in the area. Absolutely delicious panang curry, pad see eiw and the spicy chili noodle is the best around. I can't say enough about these dishes. The crab rangoon is pretty tasty as well. The delivery time is always reasonable and the drivers are nice. Sometimes the person answering the phone has a little trouble understanding my order, but I have never gotten the wrong thing.

Been going here since my college days at DePaul and its still my favorite Thai spot in Chicago! Fast, inexpensive, tasty and friendly staff. Its a hit to everyone I recommend this place to, so unless they were lying, no one was ever disappointed.

  • Kristen D.

Not the best thai food I've had. They deliver though, and have a nice outdoor seating area that's perfect in the summer. Also, it's BYOB...always a plus, and that makes this a nice, easy, simple and cheap way to go out for dinner and have a good time.

    (2)
  • Ashley G.

I can't say enough about this place. I eat here at least once a week. NP Pad Thai is delicious. Panang Curry is to die for. Lunch specials are $5.50 and you get the dinner portion WITH an appetizer. Atmosphere is nice... when it's warm there's a shady patio outside.

  • Misty T.

Ate here today while attending my husband in the Children's Hospital - oh man. This will be my new lunch spot while he is here. The rice was so tasty and so was the soup. Now, I can't tell you a thing about the price - I have life emergencies that make prices invisible to me right now - but I know that it was the best food I've had in Chicago so far.

  • Bella D.

I have to say I was really let down here. Maybe it was the noodles I ordered but didn't like the service or the food. But It may have just been my dish, who knows?

  • Mandy S.

So good. My fav thai place that I've tried. Plus, it's BYOB, close to my house, and has outdoor seating that is surprisingly quiet and set back--even though it's right on Halsted. Whenever I have a friend or two in town and we're looking for a no nonsense place to get filled up on good food before a night out, I go here. there's never a huge line, don't have to mess around with long waits that hinder your later night plans. Their spring rolls and won tons are the best and their pad thai is so yummy--and consistent. I want some RIGHT NOW!

  • Lia N.

i am kind of disappointed after all the great reviews this place has gotten that i didn't have the same experience. we ordered the thai rolls, the chicken coconut curry, and the bangkok noodles. the bangkok noodles were actually really good and i would definitely recommend them. the chicken coconut curry though was very sweet, and not at all spicy as advertised on the menu. we were expecting to get spicy spicy and sweet, but instead we just got a lot of sweet. sigh. also, i had some trouble eating the thai roll because it smelled weird to me, but i think it was just the nature of the thai roll, not that it was from this place. maybe ill have to try this place again to get a different experience?

  • Adena D.

Since moving to SF, I've yet to find egg rolls & pad thai anywhere near as good as what I devoured at Noodles in the Pot during my DePaul years. Can someone ship me dinner one of these days?

    (5)
  • Danielle R.

This is a pretty average Thai restaurant which is convenient and has a good patio for people watching but not much else. Most of the food is bland and their Pad Thai tastes just a little off. I've ate here multiple times with friends and it always underwhelms both in flavor and in heat (even when I've asked for food to be extra spicy)! If you go I recommend something basic but hard to mess up --chicken fried rice.

    (2)
  • Kari S.

The delivery was unlike anything I have ever received. I called, and no more than 15 minutes later they were at my door with extremely hot thai food. I couldn't believe it! My friend and I ordered pad thai and chicken satay- both were good, although the pad thai smelled a bit fishy at first- as if they used too much fish sauce or whatever fish ingredient thai restaurants use. Once the pad thai was mixed it tasted normal. The chicken satay and peanut sauce were delish. My food order was $15- not bad! So, for the amazing delivery, cheap price, and yummy food, I highly recommend Noodles in the Pot if you live in the LP.

Hands down best bai-tong noodles in the city. Since first going here like 5 years ago I've had the problem of not being satisfied with ANY other thai food. I always compare it to Joy's / Noodles in the Pot. I have had serious problems moving out of their delivery zone.

We were in the neighborhood and decided to pick up some take-out on the way home. This was absolutely the worst food we've had in a long time. We ordered panang curry which was too spicy and tasted more like red curry. It was supposed to have vegetables and tofu but the vegetables were sorely lacking. We complained and got a credit for a 2nd order which we just picked up today. Even worse! We ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp - the shrimp was so overcooked it tasted like meat. The noodles were all stuck together in one nasty glob. The vegetables were also overcooked and very sad looking. The side of coconut soup was way too sweet. I have never been so disappointed in a meal - I will NOT be visiting this establishment again.

Best Thai food in the city, hands-down! I've got friends who come in from out of town and want to eat here! I also have moved out of the neighborhood and will drive out of my way to eat here! Down right amazing food! I love the pad-thai, panaang curry, golden noodles, lard na,...just about everything. Reasonably priced...and BYOB! Great for a date, or just a lunch with the girls. I've been faithfully coming here for 9 years straight and they have never let me down!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city!! I love the Drunken Noodles. I am not sure about the redo of the restaurant, but I liked it the way it was. Lunch Specials come with the same amt of main dish plus an appetizer. Great place to come and relax outside on the patio. My friends and I use to come here at least once a week. You can special order anything without an extra charge. This is one of the best Thai Restaurants I have been to!

Very good prices, especialy with coupon. The Chicken Satay was AMAZING! The Chicken Panang was served on strange crunchy noodles, I would rather have had Jasmin rice. But good service and great patio.

Best dish is the Phucket Noodle. Try it. This place is great and inexpensive. Also, in the summer they have a great patio to eat on.

I have just been to Noodles In The Pot, and I really enjoyed my experience there. The service is super fast. The food is really good, and the prices are very reasonable. I always get pad Thai at whichever Thai restaurant I go to. This time, although I have never been to this place before, I decided to get something new. So you all can have the pad Thai, I have a new favorite! And it's called....Pad Khee Mao! This is the best thing in the world, and it's not really that spicy like the menu says, I mean it could even be spicier for that matter. This dish comes with wide noodles, your choice of meat, tomatoes, peppers, onions, baby corn, and carrots in a sweet sauce, and I love this combination of flavors! I have to add their cucumber salad rocks!

  • Ashley K.

my love for this place mainly stems from the fact that it is part of the united mileage plus dinning with 6 miles/ $1 mon-wed, but the lunch specials are great too. ima big fan of the spicy chili noodles and the won ton soup. also, the outdoor seating in the summer is key.

  • Eli R.

Well, how do I say this diplomatically? It is definitely the worst food I've had in months and probably the worst Thai in the city. The noodles were stale and tasteless, the sauce... don't even get me started. But everything was drenched in it. Help yourself - don't go even if you have the worst case of munchies late at night. Come to think of it, I'm not feeling so great after eating there tonight.

i have a new favorite delivery place! my boyfriend and i decided to order from here as a compromise - he wanted penny's and i wanted not-penny's - so noodles in the pot seemed like it would do the trick. we ordered online (for 15% off) and got the baby egg rolls, khanom jeeb, pad see eiw, and golden noodles. everything was delicious - and it was 22 bucks, which i think is a good price for everything we got (plus leftovers for lunch). i can't wait to order from here again.

For a long time I never like curry or peanut sauce in my food. It wasn't till last year, it seems my taste buds have had a change of heart. I actually love certain curries and really enjoy peanut sauces with Chicken Satay or a cold peanut noodle (Friendship Restaurant). I've had a few things at Noodles in the Pot and so far my absolute favorites are the spring rolls and the coconut curry chicken. I've had coconut curry chicken from other places and non compare. The chicken is tender and lays over a bed of ramen like noodles in a sweet and spicy coconut curry sauce. It is garnished with cucumbers, carrots, red onions and crispy noodles! Those are my favorite, I ask for extra crispy noodles on the side because they get soggy after a while in the broth. It's big enough to share if you're not too hungry and definitely one to try. I look forward to trying the Chicken pad seiu (sp) and other items. The dining room itself is cute and cozy and service is standard. Cheers!

Noodles is a very solid 4 start Thai restaurant. I've been eating here over the past few years, and have realized that it does pretty well when compared to other thai restaurants in Chicago. I always like the Panang Curry, it's so damn delicious, and I really like it with rice... but that's just me. It's a very nice atomosphere and the service is fast and efficient. I suggest going during lunch to get their lunch special, as it is less expensive... and I think the quantity is less as well... but still good.

  • Patrick L.

My go-to spot for thai food. Relatively inexpensive, good food and decor. Staff is pretty friendly and has good service. Only disappointment is the crab rangoons which are so deep fried it feels like crackers and which are pretty small. Everything else is pretty good as I usually order Pad Thai, Pad See Eiw, Crazy or Drunken noodles or lard na. Should definitely try it out.

  • bj f.

lots of goodness here, fresh ingredients, individual flavors, sizable portions, quick service. usual order includes chicken satay, which is moist and tender, with a tasty portion of peanut sauce on the side, beef pad sie ew with a tasty base, and good balance of meat to veggies, a killer garlic shrimp on rice with a generous portion of shrimp in a very yummy sauce, and/or chicken rama. there are many more selections, and everything we've tried we've enjoyed. the only thing i'm not crazy about is the pad thai; too much noodle and not enough veg. for my taste, but others like it. i always get take out, but in good weather they have a nice sized open area adjacent to their dining room which is away from traffic and pleasant to wait in.

  • Jelly B.

You'd think Pad Thai is such a simple concept, but having moved 1,000 away from Chicago all I crave is this place's pad thai. You take it for granted and when you end up having to pay $13+ for a plate of pad thai elsewhere in the country that doesn't even come close to this place, you really learn to appreciate all the Noodles in the Pot has to offer. It's reasonably priced, satisfying, and the service is always friendly. I miss their pad thai so much!

  • Peter S.

I don't think the food is very authentic, but it is still really good. The servings are big for the price and everything I've gotten from Noodles In the Pot has been delicious. The tom yum soup is great.

  • Sarah B.

My favorite place for good, inexpensive Thai. Whether dining in or delivery, the service is fast! I don't recall waiting more than 30 minutes for delivery (usually 15-20) when I used to live in Lincoln Park. Great for college kids and the budget-conscious.

I don't care much for Thai food, but this place has pretty good Lard Na. The patio is decent for summer dining and it's definitely a way to eat on the cheap. I'd still take a burrito over it any day.

This place is a nice little find - the store is open and pleasant with outdoor seating. The food is decent with good prices. $7ish for their curry dishes. My friend got the Panang curry, supposedly their most popular curry, which was good, but she would have preferred it over rice instead of the noodles it came with. I got the green curry, and I ordered it as a 9/10 - a little disappointing in the spiciness level as it came out as a 3/10 (I'm Asian! They should believe me!), but overall, not bad. I probably would have had enough for leftovers, but I was hungry and also would have been carrying around the leftovers for my errands all over the place, so, no leftovers for me. Oh! and we got the Thai rolls as an appetizer. It wasn't bad. Not very traditional, which was too bad, but ok. $4.50? Ehh... Probably would try the Satay the next time. The only negative was the screaming 6 year old child at the table next to ours whose parents couldn't control their own child, but that wasn't really the restaurant's fault.

This place is like any of the other millions of noodle shops in town, but consistently just a tad better. I wouldn't come out of your way to go here, but, it gets the job done.

this place was actually pretty good - as far as chicago thai standards. probably the best i've had so far. got the pad-se-eew (sp?) ordered in on a stormy night. had the pad thai also. i liked that the sauce wasn't overwhelming - that often times ruins the noodles for me. i will probably make this my order-in-thai place from now on.

My favorite place for Thai in the city. Who needs Arun's when you can get the best steaming plate of Pad Thai or Pad See Ewe for under ten dollars?! The secret ingredient that NITP uses that not many other Thai places do: Garlic. and lots of it. Some people don't like garlic, but for me, a dish could almost always use more! I go through phases where I get Pad Thai for weeks straight, then I switch to Pad See Ewe (for those new to the Thai world, that means wide rice noodles, broccoli, and meat). Their Pad Thai is pretty unique--I've been all over Chicago and this is the only place where they serve it with raw cabbage and a lemon for garnish. Not too sweet or salty with that peanut-y goodness. Such a good deal, I could (and almost do) eat here all the time. Their mini egg rolls are pretty delish. I'd pay thrice as much if I had to. Try it like me with less oil and no msg--tastes even better knowing you're doing your body a favor! Venture outside your realm and try their Pad See Ewe, it's scrumptious. SUUUUUUPER fast. A 10 minute walk from my place on Diversey and it's ready when I get there.

This is the first Thai Food place I ever ate at and remains my favorite to this day! I love the large portions at cheap prices and the fast service. My favorite dish is the Golden Noodles and Cucumber Salad. It's not fancy but it sure does taste good! I recommend it to anyone!

  • MJ d.

This place cannot receive enough five-star reviews. I regret moving to River North because it's outside their delivery area. No Thai place has the same pad see eiw as Noodles. The sauce is slightly sweet and goes well with chili sauce. They get another five stars for prompt service. We ordered pad see eiw and cucumber salad. I set a timer for their service and it took only ten minutes. Actually, everything else on the menu is good, but when making a drive up to LP, it's hard to pass on defaults. Just look at the photos. Heavy breathing.

This is one of the better Thai restaurants I've found in town. Located in Lincoln Park, where there's plenty of street parking, you can always dine in or order for carry out (do this online at their website, you'll even get a discount!). I like that it's more casual, but you don't get that whole in a wall feeling. Service is mostly friendly and prompt. I also like that when I order a spicy dish, they'll serve it just like how I like it. I would recommend any of their noodle dishes. Not a huge fan of the Panang Curry here, even though it's a more popular Thai dish. It struck me as funny that they serve their curries over noodles. I'm used to it being served with rice, but I wouldn't mind giving their other curries a try. It's pretty cheap here too! You can BYOB, and enjoy a nice meal for 2 for under $25. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

My friends and I have been eating at Noodles in the Pot or its sister restaurant Joy's for the last 5 years or more. It's always quality, you know what you are going to get, and its BYOB, what more could you ask for! I've eaten numerous dishes here, but I always go back to the Prik Pao. It's a classic. I usually eat in, but just got delivery last night, and it was just as good as eating at the restaurant. In my opinion you can't go wrong with Noodles in the Pot. It's always delicious. Though they could probably have chosen a better name!

  • Sarah Beth B.

This is exactly what I want when I want Thai food. It's a good thing it's about a 20 minute walk from my house, or else I'd be here at least once a week. I love the pad woon sen, which is full of veggies, especially little peas, which I love eating with chopsticks. I know Thai people don't actually use chopsticks, but they are still fun to use whenever I can. The appetizers are all awesome, especially the combo platter full of many fried delicious things. It's byob, which is a huge plus-- with the low prices of the food, it's great, cheap place for Friday night with friends.

I have never been to the actual location, however me and my co-worker always have it delivered. The food is amazing! They are quick to deliver and always friendly. I always order PANANG NOODLES! yummmmmm the noodles are crunchy and the curry is great- always hits the spot. The chicken is a little dry but the curry makes up for it =)

This is a great BYOB restaurant to hit up in Lincoln Park for kicking off the night or just eating super savory Thai tastiness on a shoestring budget. Right at the start line of the Halsted nightlife trail, so an outing here, trekking and dining amongst better dressed people makes me feel all the more important. If for some reason I actually had plans to paint the town red with the best of them, Noodles in the Pot is a mandatory pit stop to deliciously soften the blow of subsequent heavy drinking. I love me my spicy Pad Khee Mao (which sometimes could use a couple dashes of pepper sauce- but I like to live dangerously). If you want friendly, consistent service, a clean and welcoming environment and some yummy yummy Thai food, OR really just looking to line your stomach with the finest noodles money can buy before you piss away a significant portion of your paycheck in Lincoln Park for the night, Noodles in the Pot is worth checking out!

This is one of those NFWP restaurants where you'll rarely see actual Asians eating, unless we get dragged here by well meaning but clueless roundeye friends. If you want to avoid authentic Thai food, here's the place for you.

I've never eaten at the place itself, but this is damn fine take out. I've never eaten the same thing twice, and I've yet to be dissappointed. Everything is prepared well, and seasoned well. The flavor combinations are spot on (for cheap take out), and you can't beat the order online option!

  • Evelyn Z.

Hands down the best crab rangoon I have ever had!! I normally get the garlic chicken noodles or beef and broccoli. I work down the street so I try not to eat here too often because I don't want to get sick of the place. Quick tip order online for speedy take out or just dine in lovely place.

I found this amazing restaurant while in college, a lot of depaul students and staff go here often. Ive tried a lot of thai restaurants to find one that compares to this place, and i have yet to find one that is equally good. The servings are nice and big. Food is served fast, and the lunch specials are a nice treat. Not to mention the outdoor seating for the nice days and its BYOB. Now, i may have not tried everything on the menu but their Chicken Pad thai, Beef Pad See Eiw, Chicken or Veggie Pad Woon Sen, crab rangoon, and mini egg rolls....are regularly ordered by me and my boyfriend. Maybe its me, but when I order Chicken or Beef or Veggie, thats what i expect to find mixed in with my noodles, not pieces of tofu. If i wanted tofu i would have ordered it...but like i said im picky like that and im not big on tofu. Im glad they dont do that here Prices are great for anybody!

  • Jay A.

It's good for Thai food in Chicago. Well, the price isn't bad at all. I ordered Bangkok noodle which doesn't exist in Thailand by the way. [LOL] It was a good dish I would say. Friends ordered Pad woonsen and I think it's just okay. Oh and it's BYOB.

  • James V.

People seem to love this place on Yelp, so I checked it out and was disappointed. I ordered the Panang Curry (like always) and my date ordered the Bai Tong. Our server seemed very distracted or careless as he was always looking somewhere else as he did things. This lead to him finishing pouring our water on the table and asking what we'd like while staring into the distance. This carelessness spread over to my date receiving the Bangkok noodles instead of Bai Tong. An understandable mistake, phonetically, but still not what she ordered. My bowl of Panang was about the same as I've had elsewhere, but came with less rice than typical (not enough) and cost a dollar more. The bangkok noodles were okay, but nothing special, tho I still wonder what that Bai Tong might have been like. All in all, next time I'm craving Thai, which is usually pretty often, I'm going to skip Noodles In The Pot.

For the money, this place was everything I hoped for. There is no fee to bring in alcohol like some places, the staff graciously reserved a table for 14 AND separated our checks even when it was a hassle to them. The food was inexpensive and I left full and satisfied. No one RAVED about the food, but no one complained, which is always a win out of 14 people. More spacious than you would expect, there were three large groups like us in there. It was also clean and decorated well, which always helps. A normal plate here is $7.50--for a large amount. Honestly, I'll be going back.

I started coming here when I was a student at DePaul for their lunch special: $6 bucks for a full plate plus an appetizer. 7 years later and I still love it. My favorite is the drunken noodles, a dish that I cannot get anywhere else because it just isn't the same, and the crab rangoon (although they have the most amazing spring rolls too). It's BYOB, like most other places in Chicago, and the prices are reasonable. I've heard that some of their dishes are on the greasy side, but I've never found the food to be bad. Def recommend it.

As much as I enjoy going to Thai/Sushi joints, I often find that the Thai food that I get at those places is not as good as what I would get at a restaurant that was strictly Thai. Maybe it's all psychological - perhaps I'm picturing my Penang curry getting inadvertently doused with a little teriyaki sauce. Then I start thinking about the possibility that some wasabi has snuck into my spring rolls by accident and I've suddenly lost my appetite. Who knew eating Thai food could be so stressful?!?! All kidding aside, I honestly think the best Thai food is found in restaurants that focus solely on ... gasp ... Thai cuisine. Noodles in the Pot fits that bill. It's got your usual Thai restaurant characteristics - BYOB, affordable, friendly service, etc - but it also has some really tasty Thai food. I highly ... no, check that ... enthusiastically recommend the Prik Pao Noodles. Bursting with flavor with loads of veggies and meat. A simply awesome dish that tastes just as good the next day, since you can bet you'll have leftovers due to the large portions. The other, more common dishes (e.g. Pad Thai, Pad See Eiw, etc) are good too and the aforementioned perks of the place being BYOB and having friendly service makes Noodles in the Pot a winner in my book.

I went here for a casual dinner with a friend after reading the reviews online. We sat outside and it had a very nice, pleasant atmosphere. I had the Pad See Ewe (sp?) with tofu, which was excellent. I'm not even a vegetarian, but that tofu was so good. However, our waiter wasn't very good and brought my friend the wrong drink and then an entree that was entirely different from what she'd ordered. He also seemed very eager to get us out of there, even though there were plenty of empty tables and there was no one waiting to be seated anyway. The food was great, but pretty poor service.

It's about time I reviewed Noodles in the Pot. This is my go-to place for thai food. I adore padthai and my holy grail mission is to find the best in the city. The search continues, but NOTP is the closest I've found so far. The food comes out fast and I haven't eaten anything terrible (so far). The only thing that keeps the padthai from being incredible is that it's a little too saucy. I want to ask them to hold the sauce, but I'm afraid it will be too bland. Portions are generous, prices are cheap, decor is nice. During warmer weather, they have outdoor seating.

awful! I ORDERED COFFEE WHICH WAS FLAT AND WATERED DOWN. The panang was so bland and with no flavor. The service was as terrible as the food.

Sorry to say goodbye, old friend. A group of out-of-town friends came into town this past week and made it a point to eat here, like we do every time they're in Chicago. There were about three other tables with people at them when we walked in and when the guy FINALLY seated us (took about 5 solid minutes of standing by the door) he crammed us at a four-top and threw an extra chair on the end. There were five of us and I didnt really understand why we couldnt have an extra table so that we could all sit comfortably. There were plenty of empty tables. Then the service was slow and unfriendly and my friends found their food to be too bland or too salty (my golden noodles dish was delicious as always, though). Probably wont be coming here again. I doubt they'll want to visit again when they're in town and it's too far away from my place in East Village to make a special trip. Golden Noodles with Tofu is great though!

I've been to this place so many times, I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! I will start by saying that the best time to go here is on a weekday before 3PM to catch the lunch special. There is a pretty wide variety to choose lunch specials from, and you get to choose between 3-4 appetizers. My usual is crab rangoon + spicy chili noodle = tasty lunch. When I crave Noodles in the Pot, I find myself thinking about the crab rangoon first. You typically get three pieces, all crispy and delicious with their sauce. The spicy chili noodle, which I usually get with tofu (because NITP has great tofu) is a blast of heat and rice noodle on a bed of lettuce. Also, if you get a soda, this place is GREAT at bringing you refills. They'd get the full 5 stars if they could take the grease down a notch.

This is based on delivery service. Currently, I'm waiting for my order that I placed at 1:11 PM on GrubHub. I was expecting the order between 2 and 2:15. I got an email at 2:15 that said my order would be delivered around 2:55 so I called to ask where it was and why it was taking so long. The woman said it was on it's way. Now it's going on 2:40 and I still do not have my meal. I've never ordered from here and I heard it's really good, but this delivery service is terrible and discouraging. I won't order from here again because of the service.

This place is kind of small but they do have a seating patio. I haven't experienced the seating patio yet though. I have been here two times and both times the service hasn't been good. They don't provide good customer service. The servers just talk among themselves and seem like they are in la la land. The only good thing about this place is the food! I tried the Pad See Eiw with shrimp and it was amazing! I also ordered pot stickers and baby egg rolls and they were SO good! I would definitely come back here because the food is SO good and it's a BYOB place!

Definitely a top runner for Thai in my area for delivery. Heard great things about the atmosphere, so next time we will have to go there to eat. Pad Thai was awesome and so were the spring rolls!! Delivery was quick and friendly driver is always a plus! Will try again soon.

  • Jenny M.

I called and placed an order for delivery and I was told 25 minutes. I waited an hour only to be told that the driver already left and 'could not find my building.' Mind you I live 3/4 mile down the street on Halsted. I have never had any issues with people finding my place. Will not go order from here ever again!!

My family used to come here all the times and haven't been back for a while. I drove by with a friend today and decided to eat here for late lunch. There was only 1 customer when we walked in. We weren't greeted but told us we can sit everywhere. The staff weren't friendly at all. Matter of fact, they are very rude. The waitress brought our food when my friend and I were in a conversation. She scowled and yelling at us. We noticed that's how they treated the rest of the customers as they came in. As I was eating, I didn't have a napkin and casually telling my friend that I don't have a napkin or a fork. The waitress working behind us overheard me and said "we have napkins". But come on, she obviously didn't get us some. I'm not sure if this place is not under new ownership. The food is good but the service is extremely poor.

I honestly can't complain about NITP. I've been coming here for years and the food has always been consistent, even when you get it delivered. I love coming here in the summer because they have an awesome patio and it's BYOB (no corkage fee)! I usually stick to one of the fried rice dishes, beef & broccoli, all the appetizers are awesome, as well as the pad thai! The one thing they could improve on is service... The wait staff could afford to smile a little more!

Convenient, tasty, and super quick. Very attentive service. The cucumber salad and fried tofu are amazing! Lots and lots of options too!

How would you feel if you are greeted with rolling eyes of waiter? I decided I will take to go as I read some good reviews here anyway. The waiter did not even bother to give me menu until I asked him after struggling what to order for 3-4 minutes. Food was cold and did not taste good. I think I will try other Thai restaurants in area and prefer not go back there.

The food was very good. The atmosphere was pleasant. The prices were ok. Spent $13 for a noodle dish and hot tea. Not outrageous prices but a little bit steep for what it was. Still pleased with the overall experience.

I ordered from GrubHub. The food took over an hour to get to me and was cold when I unpacked it. I ordered the golden noodles with no egg/fish sauce and asked for them to throw in some baby corn, which, I was told, would be a $4 upcharge -- no thanks. When the delivery person came, he told me tips were cash only, even though I had selected to tip on my credit card, although that may have been a problem with GrubHub. The dish itself tasted like it had been marinated in sugar. That was literally the only flavor to the dish. I couldn't even taste the vegetables themselves because the sugar overwhelmed everything else. I took two bites and had to throw it out.

  • Lauren R.

Based on delivery service... So rude! I placed an order on Grub Hub. The restaurant called me to argue (in a bad way) that they don't go through Grub Hub to up charge for extra items, I have to call GH myself to handle the charge... GH confirmed: not true. This restaurant cannot handle delivery. Grub Hub was awesome as usual by the way...

While the pad thai was good, it wasn't anything nor special than any of the other thai place. That said the beef pad woon sen was incredible. Def get it extra spicy!

  • Suzanne K.

Patio is really nice at night! Lovely lighting. BYOB is great and there is a small place down the street that sells wine. My friend I got appetizers (crab rangoon and egg rolls) both were tasty. Both of our meals were tasty. We also were there until after they had closed and no one hurried us or said we needed to go. Prices were reasonable. It just didn't WOW me. But if you are craving thai, you should go here! You will get your fix, you fiend!

  • Bianca C.

Got their chicken Pad Thai again and it to admit it is better than most places I have had in Chicago. The delivery was really fast, and the fruit smoothie was pretty good too. Noodles in the Pot may have a new regular ;)

My favorite Thai noodles joint. I'm always on a hunt to find appetizing Thai food and this place has met my expectations when it comes to the noodles of course! I always order spicy chilli noodles with tofu! If you haven't tried this dish then what the heck are you waiting for??!! To me, the noodles and tofu are cooked to perfection with just the right amount of each ingredient. Appetizers are in small portions and so are the entrees when they are serving their lunch specials. Service may not be the best but I'm willing to be patient cause the wait is worth it whether it's a dine in or delivery order. Small cozy place with outdoor seating when the weather is just right :-)

Hands down the best Thai restaurant in Chicago! Authentic and delicious. I also appreciate that when you ask for your food to be spicy, they actually make it spicy! Love this place!!!

Good, reliable Thai food at a local neighborhood spot. We've gotten many of the noodle dishes (I especially like the crazy noodles) and also the curries. Service is fast and they even have a little patio area for dining in the summer. Great for delivery as well.

  • Rubin K.

There is only one thing you really need to know about this place: 4 Letters: BYOB!!! Food is pretty good and reasonably priced...not the best Thai food I've ever had, but really decent. I'd definitely come back here on a future trip to Chicago. But the standout is the BYOB part. We came here before a comedy show called "Bye Bye Liver" (check that out if you're in Chicago) and we brought 2 bottles of wine between 5 people and it was awesome. No corkage fees or anything! BYOB fo life.

Went there last night with a group of friends. They have a really cool ambiance, especially the outdoor seating, which makes it feel like you are in a garden. The food was overall ok. We had some vegetarians in our group so we ended up getting a complete vegetarian meal. We ordered the thai iced coffee, tea and a taro bubble tea to start with - the iced tea and coffee was great, the taro tea was too sweet and the boba was a bit coagulated. For appetizers, we got two versions of spring rolls (the spring rolls and the vegetable rolls) - the vegetable rolls were better with a light sweet/sour sauce; the spring rolls had a thick peanut sauce on it which was too sweet for my liking. For our entrees, we ordered the Drunken Noodles, Pad Prik, Spicy Basil Leaves and Vegetable Fried Rice. The Drunken Noodles were too sweet, The Pad Prik and Spicy Thai Basil leaves were good and the Vegetable Fried Rice was great, probably my favorite dish of the evening. Overall, the food was ok, ambiance was great - I would probably go elsewhere to get my Thai food fix!

This is my favorite BYOB Thai spot up north. I love this place. It's trendy, sexy, and friendly. Most importantly it's AFFORDABLE. I love coming here for girl night or jus to enjoy the city. This is a most go to. The patio is defly a plus.

The best Thai joint around. How good are they? Good enough that I ordered twice in one week! I order regularly from here and it's always between 30-45 minutes for delivery. Get the Drunken Noodles with tofu for a dish you'll never forget!

Best Panang Noodles in town, can't beat the BYOB. We go there once a week and never disappointed.

Came here during the best weather night of the season, so that alone deserves all the stars, because we were at the right place at the right time. We got there around 7:30pm and it was a little busy but there were determined to get an outdoor seating table, which we definitely achieved. The outdoor patio is very cute, it's perfect for a beautiful humid-less summer night in Chi-town as I've never been to a Thai place with outdoor seating, so this was a definite bonus. Now onto the food, I wasn't wowed by the crab ragoons, they were a little on the small side, so I was like eh. Then we got beef and chicken pad Thai's as we are some major pad Thai lovers and both were yummy. I would skip the beef and maybe get tofu next time as the beef was a tad on the chewy side. But otherwise, the actual noodles were delicious, great flavor, crunch from the peanuts and cabbage, super yummy. Now the best part is that this place is that this place is BYOB, so get your ladies, 75 degree weather, cheap Thai food and lots of wine = the perfect night. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area and want an outdoor Thai food experience.

I ordered pad thai and spicy basil noodles for delivery. The pad thai was decent but most of the chicken in the spicy basil noodles was purplish-grey so I opted not to even eat it for fear of getting sick. Very disappointing and disturbing.

By far, the best Thai food that I have had in the city! I used to frequent Noodles on a monthly basis and I have never been disappointed. The food quality is consistently fantastic, the ambience is great for the price (especially in the summer when the patio is open), and the service is friendly and efficient. This is one of my go-to places when I have out-of-state guests or people new to Thai food. I have had many of the noodle dishes and have never been disappointed. I have had bites of the curry and those are great as well. I usually get tofu in my dishes and by far their tofu is best cooked tofu I have ever eaten! It is crispy and flavorful every time...and they are byob.

I live in lincoln park and have tried multiple thai places in the area. Noodles in the pot is by far my favorite. I dine in house as often as possible but generally I just order carry out. I get 15% off if I order online and they are super quick, I order and leave and my food is ready by the time I get there. The place is super clean which sometimes the thai places aren't so I really like that. Their pad thai is amazing of course, but I absolutely love their coconut curry chicken, I could live off of it. And I am obsessed with green tea bubble tea, and I haven't found a better one in the city (including china town). Noodles in the Pot is so reasonable, it's a must!!!

  • Erin D.

Overall the food was good, the servers were fast and pleasant, and it's BYOB so that's always good. I would go probably go back with a small group or for a date night. Let's break it down a little more. My friend had a trouble making reservations for a party of 18. Yes, 18. She called the night before to confirm her reservation and was told we were good to go for 7:30pm. However, they then called her back (they actually called the wrong number) the day of the party and weren't able to get a hold of her. So we lost our reservation and ended up waiting 45mins in the tiny entranceway. Of course making our way through tons of alcohol in the process. When we actually sat down, the server Lex was awesome. She was great about bringing out extra cups, napkins, etc. She even threw in a complimentary appetizer when 2 were accidentally brought out. Let's talk about the food. Delicious. We had the shrimp spring roll appetizer and the super sampler appetizer. Everything was fresh and delicious. The main courses at our table were pad thai, cashew chicken and green curry. Was I blown away by the pad thai, no. I personally like thai bowls pad thai better. But this was decent pad thai. The green curry wasn't spicy at all (which I had hoped) and was a bit bland. The cashew chicken was flavorful and well done. Not something to write home to mom about, but I would be willing to go back and try some other items on the menu.

Best Thai food in the city. The chicken pad thai is excellent and so is the beef pad see eiw. The prices are good too.

  • Amy L.

For a take out place, the food there is decent. I would recommend the Larb Gai Chicken salad although it was a bit too salty. As for the others, the foods were a bit can-nish. That is to say, the veggies were not very fresh and mostly came from canned packages. Won't recommend for long term Thai dining.

We've been going to noodles in the pot since we moved here a year ago, and we LOVE it for several reasons. 1. The food is REALLY good and super affordable. They will always customize your order however you want, so just ask. Also, it's byob. 2. The service is FAST. They are just as fast on their busiest night as they are if there are only a few tables full. 3. The people who work there are really nice. They've had my order memorized since the second time I was there. We are moving in 2 days, so we went tonight one last time and left a big tip. They actually chased us down the sidewalk to ask if we had done the math wrong! When we explained we were moving and just wanted to say thanks, they had us come in for a free beer. Bottom line - the service alone would give this place 5 stars, but the great food and prices make it worth 100. We recommend: Thai rolls Crab Rangoon Chicken coconut curry Pad Thai Thai rice stick Pad se ew (I have no idea how to spell that...) & Thai iced coffee.

My favorite place in CHICAGO for Pad Thai. I come here nearly twice a week. Also not to be missed- Their Crab Rangoon (different and more delicious than most places I've been) and Fried Won Tons with chicken and shrimp are fab. It's BYOB with fast, friendly service and everyone I've brought here, mentions it frequently. In the summertime the outdoor patio is one of my favorite places to be.

  • Karishma B.

We picked this place after reading reviews and the fact that they had 4 stars but we were highly disappointed. There were five of us and we all ordered a different dish and we all had the same reaction, "everything is so sweet." I understand Pad Thai has a sweeter note to it but I've never had Drunken Noodles that were as sweet as the ones at Noodles in the Pot. I honestly thought I was eating dessert.

It's hard to find a Thai place that shines above all the rest. But it's easy to find one that just pleases. Noodles in the Pot could really be that go-to Thai restaurant. - BYOB - Good food, okay prices - Lovely enclosed outdoor space, between buildings and under trees They seem to have 3 different dining areas, but the outdoor courtyard space is really a must. Service was attentive and food came pretty quickly. Try this: Early summer evening + pad see eew (they make it spicy here!) + bottle of white + funtastic friends = perfection.

I came to Noodles in the Pot with three other friends after reading its Yelp reviews. Noodles in the Pot has a few pros: -located in Lincoln Park -comfortable/clean environment -quick service -large portions for cheap prices The con is I wasn't impressed by their food. I ordered the Chicken Panang Curry. In place of the curry flavor, it was sugar sugar sugar all the way. As for the noodles, I chewed...chewed...chewed...ten seconds go by...still working on it... Phew, that was a good jaw work-out.

so so so mad about eating here.. its so highly rated with many reviews.. we live in LA and was in chicago on vaca, hubby felt like Thai, i felt wary.. we had a few dishes: green papaya salad which is sooo salty and soo sour... it's insane.. then we have this drunken noodle.. omg pls do not order that.. its soo bad....i'm so disappointed.. its like i could have made these at home and taste better than this.. sigh i don't trust any more asian restaurant yelp review rating in chicago after this experience

They do not serve pork with their noodle entrees here. But when I ordered pad se ewe with pork, instead of telling me "no pork," they used bar be cue pork. I filled up on some mediocre Thom Ka Gha and did not discover my bar be cue noodle fun until the next day. So no pork! And no chinese broccoli, either.

The best thai food I've had in Chicago. I love thai food. It's my favorite type of food. Having just moved back to Chicago from the East Coast I am disappointed in how bad the thai food in Chicago is. My friend recommended this place, so we went with a group of friends to try it out. The chicken satay was delicious, although it didn't come on a stick. The drunken noodles were perfectly cooked and had slices of beef, instead of ground beef, like at most places. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the sauce was great too. Not too oily. My friends had the curry seafood and a chicken with noodle dish, but the noodles were sweet. Everything was amazing and I will definitely be coming back. I only wish I lived close enough for them to deliver.

  • Matthew P.

I like the food, but they just raised their prices by about 10%, which is really annoying, especially with the $3 delivery charge. $20 for 1 meal is just too much, so, sadly, I'll probably be ordering less from here. The food is great though. Some of the best Thai in the neighborhood.

You have stumbled upon a review of a Yelper who is a self-proclaimed Thai aficionado. "No such thing!" you say. Wrong! After leaving my beloved New York where my favorite thai place was not only on speed dial, but I was no less invited to their family functions I knew them so well. (And probably because I single-handedly put their kids through college with all the food I ordered). Anyway- my move to Chicago came with one very important task: Find a good thai food place that would stack up. After about the 10th place I tried, and almost given up, I called Noodles in the Pot and ordered my staple Pad Thai and crab rangoon. Cue Angels singing. Their pad thai is heaven. I also like all their other dishes but truthfully this review is based off their pad thai. Just do it. Bonus: BYOB. ENough said.

Service is wonderful and I love the Byob, Thai food is average. I need more flavor and spice! Still a great date spot and would still recommend, especially for the summer on the patio.

This Thai restaurant was very good. The price was about right as to their location and type of food. Although I can always find Thai food cheaper in a College area, like UIC. Their Pad See ew with beef was excellent, I strongly recommend it if you haven't tried it. I like my Pad See ew Sweet and it was sweet and yummy. I love their Thai Ice Tea as well. Everything we had was good and the service was very nice. Our family enjoyed the treat to Thai food and we would love to bring friends and family to this establishment.

Went back for my 10 year high school reunion...old lady. I know. It was delicious again. I tried that crab rangoon and they were tasty. I ordered the pad see ew this time and it was also really good. The prices are great and the food is quite good. BYOB with no corkage fee? A true winner in my book. Can't wait to come back for my b-day.

I understand why people like this place just like they like McDonald's. the food is packed with sugar tempting the obese American palate. This is not Thai food as I know it. Creamy peanut sauce. Sugared spring rolls. Sweet noodle dishes. Never again for me

It's been ages since I've last been at Noodles in the Pot. My DePaul friend first introduced my hungry UIC belly to the delights of this BYOB Thai spot. Nothing much has changed. Food is still served fast and in huge delicious portions. One of my favorite Thai dishes is nam tok, a spicy grilled beef salad made with red onions, fish sauce and lime that is served on a bed of romain lettuce. I'm pretty wary of ordering this dish because I've been served some horrible versions of it. Meat too tough. No flavor. Not here. I loved the tender, thinly sliced and perfectly charred beef with loads of flavor. We brought a 6 pack of Hoegarden and a bottle of Riesling that went perfectly with our spicy selections. Thank goodness for BYOB. (There's a Dominick's just a block away on Sheffield and Fullerton).

People of Lincoln Park -- we deserve better. The food here is not good. Why are we giving this restaurant 4 stars? This place is cheap and it is BYOB. Those are its redeeming qualities. (The outdoor space would be a third redeeming quality if it were ever warm this summer.)

First things first: Let's talk about the BALLS in the pot, not the noodles. I quenched a craving for bubble tea the other day (yes, they deliver!) and have to note that I've never come across such small balls of tapioca. Verdict? I'm into it. The bubble tea smoothie itself is considerably more Americanized than others I've had... the mango flavor is super creamy, with almost an ice cream consistency. That may deter you, but I'll be honest: I found it really good. On to more Americanized Thai fare... the Pad Thai. It's a decent take on one of my favorite Thai dishes, with just enough peanut and plenty of egg. It's also a huge portion, and made for two meals and counting. Number three is at-the-ready in my fridge, should I decide to go the Bang-cago route for lunch today (again, this is American Thai fare, people). I'm a fan of the crab rangoon as well... they're daintier than most versions, but instill a huge dose of slightly smoky, sweet flavor. What's in them? Doesn't really matter when they're gone this quickly. Make sure to order online for 15% off your order, "for a limited time only" - this promotion's been up for at least a year now so it must be a permanent deal. Pssst... I won't bring it up if you don't.

What I'm basing my review on: Crab Rangoon Pad See-ew At yelp's recommendation, my friend and I tried the Pad See-ew. We also ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer. Food was great! Not quite 5 star value overall but definitely the best pad see-ew I've had in chicago so far. Great texture, rich flavor (goes beautifully with Sriracha), and a good helping of chicken in it makes this my new go-to Thai restaurant in Chicago.

Great service, great food, great prices. Came here on a thursday night, the host was on the phone so we seated ourselves. I orderd a thai iced tea-yummy tom yum w chicken- lots a flavor, just the right amount of spice spicy veggie noodles- the veggies were mostly fresh, the spice was wonderful and my bill came out to $15 w tip. I will def be coming back to this restaurant..soon

This is a great place to order delivery and enjoy a good Thai/ Chinese dish at home on a cold day. All there dishes are of a good size and have plenty of flavor. If you like it spicy make sure you over emphasize this because they tend to spice on the safe side. My favorite dish right now is the Prik Pao, vegan style (aka with Tofu or plain). I always ask for it spicy and that they send extra hot sauce.

I'll be honest, I don't know jack about Thai food. My extreme hatred of most things egg kept me from exploring Thai cuisine. It wasn't until a bizarre craving for glass noodles, did I think of ordering Thai sans egg or looking at the egg-free dishes. After scouting out my nearby options, I went with NitP. I'm really glad I chose NitP for my first Thai experience; they have a nice website, which spells out the ingredients in the various dishes. Their website also allows you to order online and customize your order via a series of drop down options. One Friday I ordered the NP Shrimp Pad Thai and an order of crab rangoon for delivery. I loved their crab rangoon, despite being on the small side. These gnocchi-sized rangoons were delicious and the sweet and sour sauce with red pepper flakes gave it a small kick that was very addictive. The pad thai was good, although I don't really have anything to compare it to. The noodles weren't what I was expecting and I sort of wished I had ordered the regular Pad That, not the NP version. Instead of a linguine thickness, they were more akin to vermicelli and stuck together terribly. For the most part, the portion was generous; the noodles, sprouts and other stuff were plentiful (enough for a second meal), but I found the shrimp to be lacking in quantity and taste. On Sunday I was still craving Asian; truth be told, I was tempted most be the crab rangoon. This time I decided to pick up my order and check out the space. The restaurant is pretty casual, simple and most importantly BYOB. It wasn't open yet, but they also have a great patio space on the side of the building. This time I went with the traditional pad thai (with rice noodles) and crab rangoon. Again, I received a heaping portion of food. I think I will stick to the traditional preparation, minus eggs of course, going forward because this was quite good and I didn't end up with a giant block of tangled noodles. Service for pick up and delivery was friendly and prompt. Oddly, both times the website quoted me a higher amount than I actually paid. They were only slight differences and in my favor, so I'm not complaining. I love that they package items well, entrees come in plastic containers to avoid spills and facilitate reheating. Is NitP authentic? Is it better or worse than other Thai options? I don't know and frankly I don't care; all I know is that I enjoyed it. Reasonable prices + tasty food + BYOB + great patio = a great neighborhood find TIP: They have some great weekday lunch specials. For $6-7.50 you get a half-order of egg rolls, spring rolls or crab rangoon plus a noodle, curry or rice dish.

I have ordered from Noodles In The Pot many times and really like this place. For fast food Thai at this price point, it's great (you can easily get a good dinner for $10-$15). The food is always pretty good and delivery has always been within the 1 hour time estimate they give you online. My sister and I love the Chicken (or Shrimp) Coconut Curry (add the lemon and the hot sauce yourself to the curry, and it's great) and the Dumpling Noodles with Pork. If you like fresh mint, then try the Thai Rolls...unique dish with a good flavour. If you're looking for a reasonably priced meal for dinner in, definitely give this place a go!

Good cheap Thai food and BYOB, count me in! I was especially impressed that when I asked for it really spicy that first confirmed my desire and then actually brought it to me really spicy. It was a perfect level of spice that made my lips tingle but didn't kill me or make the dish inedible.

We ended up here after I screwed up our reservations at a nearby (much better) restaurant. For a brief moment I was a little frightened that my dining companion was going to harm me after ending up here. BYOB- Check Ambiance- There is none Food- Very bland, poor presentation. Overall a big disappointment. In a nut shell I would have to say this is a great place for students on a tight budget. Given the fact that I'm not in that category, I'll never return.

I was excited after the great Yelp reviews but when we walked in, there was hardly anyone there and we almost reconsidered our decision. We then felt a sudden surge of courage and decided to give it a try given all the positive feedback we had read online. I got the Panang Curry and my bestie got the Coconut Curry. The food arrived in 3 minutes flat. Did they just microwave it? My curry tasted meh - it tasted of a pre-made sachet paste that was mixed in lots of coconut milk and then watered down. The rice was dry, as if having been sitting out for a while, and not fresh at all. My friend felt the same about her curry. I rarely not pack my food to-go but after this experience, I had no desire to eat that curry once more.

Exactly what I wanted. It was bloody hot out and I just needed some thai. I've passed by this often but have never really noticed it. Well, I've realized that was a pretty big mistake. I did my normal thing of getting take out. I ordered up some chicken pad khee mao, chicken satay, and shrimp dumplings. I figured it would carry me over two meals. I should've factored in possible gorging, but what can one do. The noodles were very good. For me, I can usually tell how much I'm gonna like a thai place just on how well they do noodles. And yea, the noodles were very good. I was a little disappointed that the spice got dumbed down a bit, but it wasn't like I was getting a "spicy" dish and did get one that had some heat to it. Both of the appetizers were good as well. The shrimp dumplings were pretty good, but this was one of the better chicken satay's that I've had. Seems weird as it's just chicken on a stick, but whatever oils or seasoning they put on the chicken certainly did the trick in a big way. Most of all, it was cheap and quick. I was in and out real fast and it only took 10-15 minutes to have everything together for me. I'm gonna have to take advantage of the patio before it closes for the winter

Good food, great patio, good for hanging out with friends - and it is BYOB!! Tried their curry, a noodle dish and entrees - everything was tasty. Nice amount of heat in their food. Portion sizes are big, and its not too expensive. Service is adequate.

Really good. Decor is very nice, better than most neighborhood Thai places. Service and food are both excellent. I ate here a couple weeks ago. Forgot what entree I ordered, but it was excellent. The crab rangoons were also very good. Smaller than typical but more of them. I'll definitely be back.

This place is awesome, but make sure you BYOB! I would recommend the Crab Rangoon, Tom Yum soup, chicken Pod Thai, Chicken noodles Panang. They have an outdoor patio, which is great when the weather is good!

I recently started to go to this place and only ordered pad see ew or pad thai with beef. I loved both of them. Garlic sauce sautee rice dish was not that great. All the appetizers i tried were above average. Nice atmosphere with lots of sunlight, looks clean and nice crowd having food. Good price/performance ratio. I would recommend it.

I love the Coconut Chicken Curry! It's a delicious dish that is pretty unique. I haven't had a dish like this at other thai joints. Yum. Their crab rangoon is good too. I have gotten take out more than eating in, but the one time I ate it, it was good. They have a nice lunch special. Overall, this place is solidly great, and I cannot think of any possible improvements. Long live Noodles in the Pot.

Right down the street from me and it took me 8 months to come here! I ordered takeout on a recent freezing Friday afternoon when all I wanted to do was crawl in bed and watch Game of Thrones. It was quite busy around noon on a Friday but my order was still ready and piping hot. The portions were huge and I was able to make three meals out of my one order. I was surprised by how expansive the menu was and so many people love this place I had to give it the benefit of the doubt and experiment. There were so many other things that caught my eye that I'm sure I'll be back soon. The dining area was also cute and quaint. The Pad Thai was very "American" but still tasty with ample amounts of chicken. They also deliver (including Bubble Tea!) but hopefully I'm never that lazy.

Typical LP-appropriate ethnic food... The Thai iced coffee was mad sugary, yo. The tom yum didn't taste like tom yum. The tom yum was not very hot. The garlic noodles with chicken had as many bean sprouts as noodles. The green curry was bland. At least this place is cheap.

Great place in the city for reasonably priced Thai food. Everything I've tried (maybe 40% of the menu) has been great. Pad Thai is great, I like mine a little less sweet, the curries are amazing, and every noodle dish I've had has been good as well. I've only sampled a couple of rice dishes and they we're good as well. If you go for lunch, you get all of the same dishes for a few bucks less, plus a half appetizer. One of the better lunch spots in the city for sure.

I thought I had good Tom Kha soup until I had the Tom Kha from Noodles In the Pot. I had just driven from Detroit to Chicago and was feeling like eating something light after sitting in the car for about 4.5 hours. My friend and I searched Yelp to find this place, and the stellar reviews proved to be true. Every other Tom Kha soup I've had was more of a mildly flavored broth with a minuscule amount of vegetables, it was a good meal starter, but not very exciting or satisfying. The Tom Kha from Noodles In the Pot is excellent, and if you add the shrimp, it can be a full meal on it's own, a sweet, savory, and spicy full meal. There is a good amount of perfectly steamed fresh vegetables including tomatoes, mushrooms, baby corn added to a most delicious coconut broth with a touch of lime. I couldn't get over how delicious this soup was, and what I had been missing out on all of these years. We were both so impressed by the meal, and I was craving the soup, so we returned the next day for another tasty go of it. The pricing is great, considering the soup is only either $4.50 or $5.50 with shrimp, and it's BYOB. All of the other noodle and curry dishes are under $10, and each entree is way more food than one person can eat. My ideal meal there would be shared with another person, I would bring a bottle of wine, each order a soup, and then share a curry dish. I know next time I return to Chicago, this will be one of the highlights of the trip.

I moved, and subsequently had to find a new go-to thai, and found it just a block away. I love their take on panang curry, it comes w/wide crispy noodles, awesome for dunking in the leftover sauce. Their chicken 'satay's are more like chicken breasts and look a little funny, but are super tasty, esp w/the peanut sauce. Pad se ewe is a standard, also love the basil dishes. Their spring rolls are light (and also go well w/the peanut sauce). It's cute and cozy inside, and byo.

So the BYOB thing seems to have caught on in Chicago... Meanwhile, over at Noodles in the Pot, we uncorked a bottle of red and treated ourselves to plates of yummy. Coming from DC, this place is crazy-cheap, and quite tasty. The favorite of our three plates was definitely the Thai fried rice with pineapple and shrimp. Ginger chicken was also good. We all liked the drunken noodles with beef, although I felt it was a tad on the dry side and didn't come with the wide noodles I prefer for this dish (it had the thin pad thai ones, instead, which are still good but not the same, ya know?). Platter of baby egg rolls to start were good, nothing earthshattering though. Overall, this is a casual spot for an enjoyable meal with friends. Good for groups, because they have lots of seating in the back. If you're in the neighborhood, and craving the Thai, check it out. I don't think it's worth coming out to the area specifically for though.

I feel like this review is unnecessary, since I've just recently reviewed Joy's noodles, and they're pretty much the same restaurant only more than a mile apart (well they are since they're owned by the same people). But Noodles in the Pot has always been a better experience for me. The waiters were nicer during my visits, they have an awesome patio, and I often go here for lunch, which allow me to take advantage of their awesome lunch special. The food taste ok, exactly the same with Joy's Noodles. Very Americanized Thai food. They have pretty much all the standard noodle and rice dishes that would satisfy a instant crave for Thai food. Nothing too crazy that would make their guests question the menu and the ingredients. If you're looking for something safe, quite tasty, and have that sweet and salty flavor of Thai food, this is it. But don't come here expect a genuine Thai dining experience.

I forgot how good this place was. I had visited several times over the last few years but I thought it was just standard Thai food. I settled for other Thai restaurants for the occasional fix. But saw this place again and opted for take out. Their panang curry had just the right amount of coconut, tang, and spiciness... delicious. But we also ordered the coconut chicken curry, which almost tasted exactly like the panang except with crunchy fat noodles. So I forgave the overlap in tastes for the textural experience. Yes, I've been to Thailand. Ate the street food pad thai cooked to order from grimy hands. Yes, I've tasted the sweet coconut curries. Yes, I lay on the beach after a 5$ massage drinking mango shakes. Unfortunately, I suffered a disgusting rash on the back of my legs and had to take extremely strong antihistamines, rub a cream on my legs, and take ephedrine (yes, illegal in the States) pills to get rid of an infection that the Thai speaking pharmacist told me may be a reaction to the dust/ dirt I I shuffled up with my flip flops or the local cuisine (fish and egg products). That sucked. But the Thai food was worth it. And "Noodles in a pot" I shall not leave you again.

Love this place! Great food, nice outdoor dining area with a garage door leaving fresh air for the indoor tables. 3.5! N in the P is the go-to thai place in this area. it's pretty decent - the pad see ewe is pretty good and so is their chicken panang curry. you can get either rice or crispy fried noodles with the panang, which makes it delicious - a guilty pleasure if you will. they have lunch specials if youre lucky enough to eat-in during work hours. it's one of those that includes PSE w/ a few crab rangoon, etc. they have a great outdoor patio for the summertime - love it! the staff is nice, and the service is quick. i'm usually in and out of there in less than an hour. and it's BYOB!

This has always been my favorite Thai place in the city (well until I tried Penny's Noodles which is a step up I think). It's the same as Joy's in Boystown, so don't be perplexed when you see the repeated menu. Nor should you order your food online and choose the other location like I've done once before! Taste, portion & price-wise, it's amazing! Their lunch special (Mon-Fri 11 am to 3 pm) is NOT TO MISS. Starting at $5.50 you get a mini appetizer (spring rolls *best choice*, egg rolls, or cucumber salad) & a noodle or rice dish. You can't complain! While the servers can be VERY rude (either they're over worker or it's a cultural misunderstanding, who knows?!), the food comes out in a FLASH! Without Noodles in the Pot, I would have starved during the last 4 years. Definitely check it out, especially during nice weather to sit on their outdoor patio.

I ordered wrong. I got the mixed vegetables and it was just OK. My husband got the spicy coconut chicken and said it was amazing. The service here is excellent, the food came quickly and as ordered, despite being a large group. In addition to being cheap, this place is BYOB with no corkage fee. The ultimate cheap chic experience.

Yum! And great portions! My boyfriend and I read about the great reviews on Yelp and having a hankering for thai food, decided to try it out. The inside is much nicer than it you would think and was very clean and spacious. We ordered the Crab Rangoons, Pad Thai and Pad Prik. The Rangoons were out six minutes after ordering and were decently sized and warm and crunchy. The Pad Thai portion was HUGE! I loved the peanutty taste but wish there were more sprouts. The Pad Prik sauce was delicious and slightly spicy, and the green peppers were very fresh and crunchy. Service was great; our server even packed our food in to-go containers for us. If you want inexpensive, yummy Thai food, you must go here! And don't forget that it's BYOB :D

I seem to always preface with something so let me go ahead and do that again. LUNCH SPECIALS: 11-3pm. But even if you don't - it's super reasonable anyways. $7 tops. Let me preface with something else - Chicken Coconut Curry. OK, now on to the meaty part (pardon the pun). I first came to know of this place when i was taken here on a business lunch 3 years ago and it has, without a doubt, been my favorite Thai restaurant ever since. I was brand new to foreign food and my boss ordered me the Chicken Coconut Curry and IT WAS AMAZING. The sauce is perfect. Perfect. It's slightly spicy and sweet with it's creamy exotic texture. The curry is a beautiful yellow color and allows the chicken, onions, thin noodles and peppers to soak up all the flavor. It's topped with crispy noodles. It's a coconut curry and it's to die for. I guarantee you will love it. GUARANTEE IT. Favorite food. Favorite food of all time. It comes with a cute cucumber salad and lemon. Now, on to other foods. (BTW, I'm there at least once a month, if not once a week.) The pad Thai noodles, Pu ket noodles and crab rangoons are all delicious. However, like i said before, C.C.C is the best. It's BYOB, and yes I've utilized that to its fullest extent many a times. The only thing i don't like is the service, they seem to always be chitchatting constantly and when we need to leave, need water, an IV ... they are always busy even though there's usually no one who knows about it. But none the less. CCC. DO IT. And let me epilogue by saying, when it's nice out, their outdoor section is beautiful.

Thai food for when you wanna binge! This is a BYOB thai place in the DePaul area that me and husband frequently go to, mainly because of their curry dishes but everything I've tasted here has been good. Its also a bonus that a meal here is economical and the portion sizes are large. Since they're crowded most of the evening, the service is quick so, don't expect that you can chit chat all evening. The thing I love most though is how consistent they've been through the last few years that I've lived in the neighborhood.

After hearing about this place so much from my woman friend and finally being able to find the time to eat there I was looking forward to this particular dining experience. We made it for the lunch special and their food. I had the Phuket noodles-something I had never seen before in any Thai restaurant, against the advice of my special friend who raves about the Chicken Coconut Curry. I got the cucumber salad as the lunch appetizer and it was pretty good. Unless the dressing is thickly sweet I really have no criteria for judging a cucumber salad. I did like it though. The Phuket noodles were okay, I've never had it before, never seeing it before on any thai menus. It was green and seemed pan fried and I got it with chicken....Uh, it was okay something I wouldn't order again. The noodles were a little dry, and the flavor was hard to identify but not something I'd like again. I was however, impressed with the Chicken Coconut Curry. The curry was a standout, delicious. Savory and slightly sweet with a smoothness to it that really struck a chord with me. I really think it's the good balance of flavors that thai food is supposed to be like. I will probably return because it is my person's favorite thai restaurant and after reading this she will make sure I come back to eat the Coconut Curry.

I should have written this review years ago.... However, I have just returned from Thailand and I was inspired to write a review of Noodles in the Pot because- I have concluded; this is the best Pad Thai in the world. In Thailand- I had ordered Pad Thai ( or Pat Thai) in just about every city I was in and none of them compared to Noodles in the Pot. The Pad Thai has the perfect amount of peanut floor in it and the noodles aren't super greasy Add hot sauce to it and lime and its the perfect amount of spice. You also don't have that gross-"holy sh*t I just ate a bowl of fried noodles belly ache. " The crab rangoon is wonderful-the cream cheese is creamy and has a great texture. The spring rolls are also legit as they are fresh. Prior to my Asian vacation adventures-this was my go to takeout and my favorite joint in LP since 2005. If you order from here you will not be disappointed.

One of my girlfriends has been raving about this place forever. I finally made my way over there last Friday after work. It's an easy walk from the red line and street parking looked plentiful for a Friday night. It's BYOB but I went during my "I'm not drinking" time of the year so I missed out on that joy. LOL. Our server (never got his name) was adorable. He probably wouldn't want to be called adorable but he was so sweet and patient. My friends were joking me because I liked him so much! But hey... good service wins me over. So my friend who dies for this place recommended a bunch of dishes but again, during my "I'm not drinking" phase, I also wasn't eating certain yummy foods like anything fried, red or pork related. Nevertheless, the other options were great. For appetizers, my friends ordered the chicken satay and steamed shu mai. I tasted both and they were good. Not spectacular, but decent. I also don't eat peanut sauce so I'm not the best person to say whether their chicken satay was on par or not. For dinner I ordered the green curry with shrimp, one friend had either the pad see eiw or pad khee mao with beef, and my other friend had the bamee noodles. Literally, no food was left on anyone's plate! I didn't taste the pad noodles but my friend obviously loved it. I tried the bamee noodles and I was soooo surprised at how tasty they were... and they didn't have a sauce or anything on it but it had a sweet kind of flavor that was delicious. The rest of the dish had fried wontons and pork in it, so I didn't taste any more but again, my friend devoured it all on her own! The next time I go back I'll probably order that... just off the taste of the plain noodles, the rest of the dish has to be good. I absolutely loved my green curry too. They definitely didn't skimp out on the portion size or the amount of shrimp. I can't stand when places do that... give me like 4 shrimp... ridic... but not this place, I had so many left over. I thought twice about saving some as leftovers but it was too good not to finish right then and there! So... I have to give it to my girlfriend for recommending Noodles in the Pot. We're going back SOON. And I'm going to bring a bottle of wine and eat all the pork and fried wontons my little heart can handle. =)

Bubble Tea Delivery: Magical word mengetrois, ain't it? *Mango Bubble Tea (a bit too matcha-esque tasting, but good nonetheless) *Tom Kha Soup-Chicken, super piping hot, a little light on the fillers. *Chicken Pad Thai -HUGE, very standard. Missing requisite carrots, sprouts, green onion. Just a lot of sauce/noodles/chicken. Fine, but not necessarily "authentic." Then again the place is called "Noodles in a Pot," so what was I expecting? Hmmm. Approx $20 with delivery fee, tax + tip = 2 meals, maybe 3. Arrived within about 45 minutes. Fairly standard Ameri-Thai fare, but perfectly lovely for a Sunday afternoon at my house when confronted with a refrigerator only containing rosemary, thyme and one apple. And, they deliver bubble tea that is pretty much still frozen, and heavy on the tapioca. SCORE.

Came here on a Saturday night with a group of 15 people and had a great experience! We called Noodles earlier in the evening and although Yelp says they don't take reservations, the restaurant agreed to set a table up for us. When we arrived at 8:15, the place was packed and our table wasn't set up. They asked us to wait in the front (very small area for 15 people) for about 10 minutes while they set the table up. We were crammed in like sardines into a corner table, but the experience/food made up for it! Despite being such a large group, our waiter was extremely attentive. He dropped off waters, wine glasses, and a bottle opener within the first five minutes of being seated. I ordered the pad thai, others in the group ordered the pad see ew. Both were delicious! For $9.25 an entree, this place is very affordable! Plus, there is NO corkage fee! Service was great, atmosphere was lively, and the bill was cheap. What else is there to ask for!? This will be a go-to BYOB thai place for me from now on.

Noodles In the Pot.....Daddy likes! I mean when you walk into this place, it's really nothing too special. Like it's really nothing fancy. But when you try the food, your mouth may be like "Are you serious with this good (explicit word) food!" Yeah I know that's intense, but seriously the food is good. I got the Thai rolls with this sweet and peanut flavored dipping sauce. The rolls were wrapped in this rice casing and there were all types of delicious flavors and sea food inside. My friends got the Pad Thai and they said it was slamming. I trust my friends, so you should as well. I've also heard the veggie Pad Thai is great too, so if your into that lame veggie stuff, go for it. Overall, get your Noodles In the Pot on....it's slamming. Boom!

More, please! This has become my go to thai place in the neighborhood. If you dine in it's small and unassuming but the staff is great and you're not really going on for the atmosphere. Simple, Tasty, and cheap, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites are the curry dishes, and their delivery guys are super fast too.

I have been a loyal customer here for a while. I always order the exact same thing, chicken coconut curry. It is usually spot-on. My boyfriend and I went decided to go to our usual spot for date night. Of course I ordered the same thing as always. It tasted extremely watered down. I asked the manager(that I see and talk to every time), if something had changed and she said, "No". I filled her in on the water down taste. She said the may have forgotten to add some spices, so she brought them to me to add and assured me they were not spicy. It was TERRIBLE!!! She asked if it helped and once the FIRE IN MY MOUTH went away, I told her it made it worse. She NEVER apologized or offered to replace it. She didn't even credit our appetizer. I literally had 3 bites. We left. I had to stop and get takeout somewhere else since I was so hungry. Extremely disappointed is the understatement. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE. It is truly a let down. On a good note, this IS Chicago, so good food is on every corner!

This was one of my favorite Thai places when I lived in Lincoln Park ... I do try to make it back to this place time to time when I'm in the area... I have introduced many of my friends to this place as well... Today, however, I was a bit disappointed ... mostly with the service... There was basically one guy working and we were the first to get seated before it started to get busy. Our server was just very cold and impatient when we were asking questions about a couple of the menu items... At one point, he actually cut me off from asking my question because he assumed that he knew what I was going to ask... Overall, he was a bit short... Food: Pad See Yu : it was a little TOO sweet Pad Kee Mao: a little bit on the saltier side Thai fried rice with chicken: Very delicious! Just perfectly seasoned. Panang Noodles: I got it with steamed noodles instead of fried noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly, not too over done. The sauce could have used a bit more curry and could have been a bit more spicy. Thai Iced teas were way too thin and seemed a bit flat in flavor. I think it wasn't that fresh, which may explain the lack in flavor? Also, they pre-sweetened the tea with sugar and then add milk to it when serving... which explains the super sweetness and the thin texture... I think the norm at other Thai places is that they pre brew the thai iced tea and then add sweet condensed milk when serving. I think the sweet condensed milk adds that rich texture to the iced tea which you won't get by using just regular milk. I'll probably be back and just address the specific adjustments for each dish to my liking... and just expect to get a rude service... nonetheless, will probably be back when I'm craving thai food and I'm in the area.

We lunch here regularly. Love the lunch specials, especially the tofu fried rice and spring rolls . Great place to eat outdoors in the summer. Good prices and good portions.

I just wrote a negative review for another Thai place, so to balance out the universe, here we are... MY FAVORITE THAI PLACE! I haven't been to Southeast Asia, so please take that into account. Okay, we all know the food is great here (read: amazing), but after a while you have the same waitress each time and this shit just gets comfy. A home away from home! (kitchen away from kitchen!?) Scenario: You and your significant other look at each other with pitiful and hungry (or hangry) eyes as you're rummaging through the fridge. What do you do!? The brave one of you pipes up with "Wanna go to Joys?" (Oops, Joys and Noodles In the Pot have the same owner) with a little apprehension because you're unsure if the fan favorite has reached the burn out category... and before you know it you're skipping down to the car headed to Joys with a bottle of white in hand.

It may be cheap and easy, but you get what you pay for. This being a Joys counter part (I heart Joys) I at times order from here due to it being closer to my place than Joys. NEVER AGAIN! After waiting 1.5 hours for my food to be delivered, I called the manager to tell her that I was disappointed. She starts off by blaming the driver and telling me he is on probation. After I tell her that there is no way it is all the drivers fault and that the driver tried to offer me a $10 discount (which she tells me he has no right to do), she tells me she is going to fire the driver. WHAT? Now it is on ME that a driver loses his job! No way Jose! I will never again support such unprofessional behavior - not even for a dish of hot chicken pad Thai (which is far from what I got).

Last Visit: Sunday, April 11, 2010. Lunch for two. Noodles in the Pot came highly recommended to me by a good friend. Following her recommendation, I had ordered the Beef Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Eiw (see photo). A few things you will notice (and enjoy) right away: - Great location within Lincoln Park. - Comfortable environment (w/ BYOB, though I did not exercise this luxury during my first visit) - The food is cooked and served very quickly. - Large portions (two entrees is definitely too much to even forcefeed myself at 6'1" and 190lbs). The above make this restaurant an excellent value at only $7.50/entree. A coke is $2 here. My only real complaint is the chicken in my pad see eiw tasted like it should have been thrown out two days before but was used anyway (unsure if this is typical). The the beef pad thai, however, was very good. A minor disappointment: neither dish was spicy.

Ordered delivery from here. Food was good. Prices were average, but delivery was terrible. We ordered the Pad Thai, and Panang Curry. Pad Thai was good. I would order it again. The Panang came over fried noodles that were more like wontons. I didn't really care for that, and would have preferred rice. Good flavor. Could have been a little spicier. Delivery was difficult. Driver never tried to buzz our unit, or call twice. I missed his call by about 30seconds, and immediately called back. Apparently, in those 30 seconds he managed to leave my front door, get in his car, get out of his parking spot, and drive to his next delivery . He came back with our cold food about 30min later. Disappointing to say the least. Can't say I'm itching to order from here again.

This place is in a great spot right off Licoln Ave. and had a nice, cozy ambiance and an awesome outdoor seating area. My only gripe with this place was that we had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table outside, but otherwise our dinner was peaches and cream... This place is BYOB, so make sure to bring some adult beverages if you do plan on drinking. The food here was great, it came out very quickly after ordering and was delicious. I would definately come back, there were alot of different dishes that looked great on the menu and the BYOB and atmosphere were unbeatable...

My sister raved about this place, saying she's dreamed about eating the food! Of course, we had to go there for dinner when we came for a visit! We started with appetizers of Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoon to share. The Spring Rolls were excellent, but it was a bit strange to have them cold with warm sauce. However, the tamarind sauce was fantastic, so it made it worth it. The only thing I would modify is that there were a bit too many sprouts. The flavor of the Crab Rangoon was good, but I still prefer my hometown Chinese restaurant's version a bit better. I appreciated the amount of crab meat in them, but I was not a fan of the added chicken. However, the sweet & sour sauce was so wonderful. Luckily my mom was smart enough to save it, as it helped to add flavor to her meal later. Overall, I would recommend both appetizers, but if you have to pick one, go with the Spring Rolls. For my entree, I went with one of my sister's recommendations, the Pad See Ew, substituting the thin rice noodles for the wide ones. I cannot say anything bad about the dish. It used the same sweet & sour sauce that was given with the crab rangoon, which was a-ok with me. 100% recommendation on this. My sister had the dish of her dreams, the Chicken Coconut Curry. I personally hate the taste of curry, so for me, this dish was doomed, but I did try it, and either the curry flavor was very mild or the coconut softened it up enough (or both), and I didn't completely hate it. If you like curry, I would definitely go for it as my sister doesn't dream about food very often. It also came with cucumber salad, which had a very light, but yummy marinade. My mom was not very hungry, so she decided just to get a side of Steamed Vegetables. There was no sauce added, so they were a little bland to me, and I didn't like the mushrooms at all, but my mom added her saved sweet & sour sauce and that helped a lot. I tried the Gingerale for drink, and it was very light and tasty, but not quite as satisfying as your standard gingerale. I would definitely recommend checking out this restaurant if you are in the area, and expect great flavor from your sauces!

Found this spot when out on a summer evening. our requirements for a dinner spot was- noodles, BYOB & an outdoor patio. Noodles in the pot has all three, so we grabbed a table and ordered. Service was ok, a bit spotty, but I seem to find that at a lot of thai spots. Food was overall pretty good, flavorful and hot. Nothing jumped out at me as too special on the menu. Patio was real cute though, and the BYOB makes it a little easier on the wallet. Make sure to order online if you carry out - 10% off!

Really good food here. I like the Panang curry. Service is good and the food comes quick. BYOB so bring your own, if you forgot something don't hesitate to ask. We've gotten pint glasses, a bottle opener, and they even brought an ice bucket to keep beer cold.

Ordered delivery twice from this place in the past. The noodle dishes are incredibly greasy and severely lack any taste whatsoever. The Tom-Yum soup definitely wasn't yum at all and packed absolutely no heat. In Chicago there are definitely better places to order from.

  • Kate O.

Favorite dish is chicken pad Thai. Their crab Rangoon is definitely homemade and yummy. Sometimes they are a lil inconsistent, but overall, it is one of my favorite.

They are back at the top - gluten free folks - order your pad thai without fish sauce. NO FISH SAUCE = happy gluten free patrons!!! I am so glad that I am able to visit my favorite Thai place in the city again! So very happy. My gluten eating husband loves everything on the menu. This gluten free wife likes the cucumber salad, veggie rolls no peanut sauce, and pad thai with tofu no fish sauce. Win!

We eat here at least every other week- best Thai food we have had in Chicago. We typically get crab Rangoon (yum), pad Thai, pad see ew, green curry with rice, or panang curry (with rice, although the noodles are good too). It is BYOB and there is a cvs down the street, which is convenient! The beef here is so good- and I usually don't like beef in my Thai, but I always get it here. Try this place... You won't regret it if you enjoy Thai.

Noodles in the Pot used to be my go to Thai place a few years ago, and I always had a good experience. So when a couple of out of town friends were craving Thai when we were in the area, we made our way over to Halsted and Fullerton. My standard orders are the chicken pad thai and garlic chicken. While the flavors are good, the chicken was overcooked in both dishes, Service was fast, but not overly accommodating. With the warm fall weather, we were able to enjoy the patio seating, which was a cute courtyard covered in falling leaves.

  • Erich S.

I really wanted to like this place. The inside was nice. I liked the patio area too. I was not sold on the food as it was just ok. I have had much better Thai. The service was not so stellar. The servers seemed to be inconvenienced by the customers. I may go back to try it again but I will also be looking for another Thai place in the area.

This is one of my favorite Thai places because of their lunch specials that gives you an entree and appetizers for about $6-$7, which is a great deal. Their regular pad see eiw or crispy is fabulous. I always like going here for these dishes. I also recommend the Rice Stick Noodles if you want something more chewy than soft. It can get very crowded if you going during the wrong time (lunch), but its a great place to take a few friends. Be careful ordering their Thai Ice Tea because my friend and I both ordered one, but they came out different! One was very watered down the other was okay.

What an adorable little spot! A group of us took a chance on this place before a show at Lincoln Hall. It showed up as walking distance on Google Maps so we went for it, and boy am I glad we did. Warm lighting inside, an enchanting area outside surrounded by trees, and what we considered to be fun art on the walls. Oh, and their Thai Iced Coffee is to die for. I only took a sip but I could easily become addicted. Also, I appreciate when a menu clearly states what is hot n' spicy so I know to avoid those dishes. I ended up going with beef fried rice (my old stand by) and it was delicious. The service was lovely, the price was right (6 of us split the bill and it was under $20 a person), and our tummies were filled before our evening out. I would like to come back and sit outside next time. Maybe bring a book and order several Ice Coffees. Copious amounts of caffeine isn't harmful, right?

This place was a decent BYO, but nothing special. My friend liked her soup well enough, and my spicy basil noodles were decent. I did ask for them extra spicy, which they tried to oblige...by dumping a ton of sriracha on top before bringing it out. That's what I would have done at home, but I would have expected more from a restaurant. At least stir it up first.

I'm sorry for the initial poor review. It wasn't until Cheryl E. pointed out that I trashed this place that I realized that I have been back many times and had a great experience. The food is fresh, affordable, and tasty! I love their lunch specials. I guess my carry out order was just a bad batch of noodles.

I've been here a few times for ether dine in or carry out - mostly carry out. The pad see eu and pad thai are reliable standards. Haven't had much than that here. No complaints.

I like Noodles in the Pot, the Pad Thai and Chicken Satay are my go to dishes and of course the Thai Tea. They also do a great job with the Baby Egg rolls nice and crispy just like I like them, I go for the Lunch Special because you get a great value Monday - Friday from 11-3. The dining space is nice and inviting and when summer hits they open the side windows and this place become a nice refuge from the chaos of the day and you can relax and enjoy a great meal.

Reasons I love Noodles In The Pot: 1. It's delicious. 2. It's cheap. 3. It's BYOB. 4. It has a huge patio. 5. Delivery is cheap. Noodles In The Pot and Joy's are my 2 favorite Thai places, which is funny because they're both owned by the same people. I looove Thai curry, and the chicken coconut curry here is amazing. This is a great neighborhood spot. Check it out.

I think it speaks volumes that I've been here three times in the last month and I live over an hour away. This place is cheap enough for you and a group of friends, nice enough for a date, and has the whole package for showing your parents a less than normal food destination when visiting Chicago. 2/3 times I have gotten the Pad Thai with chicken and is what I would recommend any first timer with American taste buds to get. It is a very rich dish but the flavors are perfectly balanced and has a nice subtle peanut flavor. I have a pretty sensitive stomach so Asian food is sometimes worrisome to me but I have never had any problems here... obviously read the menu and make wise choices :). The wait staff are all very nice and the only complaint I have is that they fill up your water glass after only a few sips have been taken so conversation is interrupted a bit more often than I like.

Yum! After passing this place a million times, I finally found myself here for a mini girls' college reunion. The ambience is a lot cuter than I expected, and there is a little room in the back that could be blocked off for a party. We immediately got a table for 6 and were approached with very friendly service, water, wine glasses, and a wine bucket with ice for our whites. (BYOB) The menu is pretty large, I had also scanned it before I came out. But of course, like usual, I found myself wondering what the best dish was. I asked the server if they would suggest the NP Pad Thait--with glass noodles, or the Pad Woon Sen. Apparently both we her favorties, but she suggested the NP. We all got different dishes, and everyone's looked awesome and very edible! My NP with tofu was great, I should have added some spice to it thought. My friend got the Phucket Noodles which were something I've never tasted before and it was really delicious. The curry noodles, bamee, and regular pad thai looked spectacular as well. We ended up taking up that 6 person table for a little over 2 hours, and they didn't seem to mind! Every noodle or rice dishe is between $7.50-$9 which is pretty decent, especially because some places can realllly rack it up! The place def got hopping at the end of the night, too! I would absolutely suggest Noodles in the Pot to anyone in the city!

Good food, pushy service and watch where you sit. I kept getting push, prodded and pulled during a party I went to there. If not for the location it would be out of business, but location is everything!

This yelp review is for delivery only. Best pad Thai I've tried anywhere. SO flavorful and the noodle always have the perfect amount of sauce unlike some places that skimp on the sauce so that the noodles are dry. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes the delivery is kind of slow. I now live in New York and have tried at least 5 different Thai places and still have yet to find a place with pad Thai as good as Noodles in the Pot.

LOVE. This is my favorite Thai place in the city. Big menu, and I have never had a dish I didn't like. My absolute fave is the Phuket Noodles. They're listed under curries, but it's really a noodle dish. The prices are great, plus you can always get buy one get one free coupons on the back of your Dominick's receipt. Also, it's BYOB, and in the summer they even allow you to BYOB on their patio, which is off limits at a lot of places.

  • Shaun F.

NITP has good food. They prepare your meal extremely fast and the price is extremely affordable too. It's BYOB as well. Mike from the waitstaff is one of our favorites and always makes eating here pleasant. They will deliver to your home AND give you a discount for using their website. WARNING: certain types of food do not travel well!! Great neighborhood casual-dining spot!

Sometimes restaurants with the simplest names are the best places to go. They don't give a crap about a fancy name, they put all their brain power into their food. Noodles in the Pot is just this sort of place. I don't know how authentic it is and I don't care really. It's cheap and tasty enough to be almost considered comfort food. Everything about my experience here was about comfort. The waiters were quick with the food and left you alone, my hot dinner companion Jerry M and I were having great conversation, and the food was light but very fulfilling. Vegetarian egg rolls -crisp and fresh Cucumber salad -surprisingly refreshing and at $2.50 a must get Chicken noodle soup -was just Mom would have made but ya know in Thai form Pad Thai -I got to try a bite or two and it was very good Of course you have to get some bubble tea!! Taro is the BEST... tastes like fruit loops This was a great find and I'm sure to go back!

Some of the best Thai I've ever had. Would love to try everything on the menu but the Pad Thai (get it with beef and chicken) and the Chicken Coconut Curry are both so good that even if I tell myself in advance I am going to branch out, I end up ordering the usual. Cliche choices, I know, but I can't help it.

Drunken noodle, crazy noodle, pad Thai. We love it all. Super fast service. BYOB and reasonable prices keep this place bustling without long waits.

Can't believe it's taken me this long to get to this place. FINALLY! There are so many good things to choose from, and I have a feeling you can't go wrong. I went with a Coconut Chicken Curry and it was delicious! Plus, it was cheap and the portion size was huge. The outdoor patio is awesome and very scenic, but it's basically the walkway into peoples' apartments.

I haven't had Thai food in a while. I think it's because I felt so underwhelmed by any Thai food I'd had in Atlanta. Tonight's dinner at Noodles In the Pot blew my freakin' mind. First off, it's BYOB. 'Nuff said. That makes any restaurant worth going to. I started with the spring rolls appetizer: delicious little nuggets of joy. Two spring rolls, stuffed with cucumber, carrots, avocado, cream cheese and topped with a tamarind sauce. Cut into bite-sized nuggets. So much flavor happening. Then the Pad See Yew (spelling?) with Tofu. I don't know how they got the tofu to have a nice smokey, charred flavor, but it was amazing. And the wide noodles were WIDE. Charred broccoli and egg. And sweet soy sauce. Ah, I wish I was more eloquent in describing this meal, but all I can say is that it is truly the best Thai I've ever had, and by golly, I've had a lot of Thai food in my day. Service was so fast, portions were big, and the prices reasonable. If only there were an apartment for me to rent right above it so I could eat it daily.

14 months ago I started this review and still haven't finished it. This is what is said so far: "This is my new favorite Thai delivery. I've never been in the restaurant. I ordered Vegetable Rolls and Mixed Vegetables from here last night and everything was perfect." So....I guess I liked it but I don't remember anything else. Just so you know, I am picky. Pleasing me with a delivery order is no small feat; I always have an odd request or specification. Picky Eater+English Second Language Establishment+bad cell phone reception+delivery often equals not getting exactly what I want. But I guess here they did it right, 14 months ago. I'll have to go back sometime. If I said it was perfect I must have meant the veggies were fresh and the vegetable rolls had great attention to detail and a lot of greenery (not a lot of vermicelli).

My girlfriend and I have been ordering NITP for the past 3 years. This has been our favorite Thai place all along, and we have tried several. I've always enjoyed their Pad Thai and Pad Sie Ew .. And my gf gets all different things and has always enjoyed them. We moved out of LP and over to Ukrainian Village .. but they still (reluctantly oftentimes) deliver to us .. fairly quickly. Their prices aren't bad, and their website for online ordering runs very well.

aroi mak mak My brother has lived in Thailand for a year, and I've visited him twice for a month, and this is as authentic as it gets in the middle of one of the richest neighborhoods in a 1st world country with proper sanitation. Bragging: Since my 2nd trip, I can come in here and not speak a word of English. They don't get half of what I say in Thai, but that's just their loss.

I gave this place another chance, bad move. The same delivery guy brought the food. He double parked (when there was street parking available), refused to come upstairs, didn't have enough change for my cash payment and even shouted obscenities at me walking back to his car. I'm never getting food from here again.

Loved Noodles in the Pot! Great for date night. The food was excellent. You have to try the Golden Noodle dish. The only hurtle that we had to overcome was to ignore the people who walked through the courtyard while we were dining to access there apartment. I thought it was strange but oh well. We will definitely be back!

Dear Noodles in the Pot: Your spring rolls are near perfection. Re: the Rama Special (Sautéed chicken topped with peanut sauce, garnished with steamed broccoli) - SO much broccoli, loaded with tasty peanut sauce - thank you. While most Asian restaurants serve a paltry 5 or 6 nuts in their Cashew Chicken, yours is chockful - thank you. (Note: you label it as "Spicy" - needs to be spicier.) And honest to god, the Crab Rangoon is orgasmic. Yeah, yeah - I know it is considered a Chinese dish and perhaps boring and pedestrian. But until you try it, you don't know what you are missing. Not that overly fried heavy crab rangoon that we are used to, this is lightly flash fried, roundish crispy six pieces for $4.00? Give me 4 orders, please. Every friend I have taken here says it is the best they have ever had. P.S. Why is your staff so pleasant and accommodating? And why are your prices so reasonable? Big thank you!

Amazing amazing food. You might feel like you just took a trip to Thailand. Im no expert in Thailand food but I know it when I eat great food. The food is delicious and there is a sea of difference from some of the Thai food I've eaten. Try it once! If you like spicy food, you're in for a treat.

I love Joys Noodles, and i know they are owned by the same person so i had to give Noodles the same kind of love because it is LITERALLY the same menu. The only difference is that joy's has the hottest tranny in the world and noodles in the pot has none :-( If you have no prior Joy's experience, here is what you will find at Noodles In the Pot: 1. Amazing Thai food (everything on the menu is good. there is no risk!) 2. Good Service (I go there weekly and have yet to have a bad experience) 3.Good Prices ($7-8.50 is the average price)

Went here a couple of days ago and sat on the AWESOME patio. We ordered the crab rangoon, mini egg rolls, and veggie spring rolls for appetizers. We brought in our own assorted libations, but I also ordered a taro bubble tea, as recommended by our server. So glad I did! For entrees, we ordered the coconut chicken curry, crazy noodles, and pad thai. The ambiance plus the amazing food plus friendly service makes me want to take a semi monthly trip back. Go. You will love it!

This place is a great spot for dinner. The patio is very pretty and the BYOB option is always great. I ordered the curry noodles with tofu, it was delicious! The prices are reasonable and the food is great. With a few bottles of wine it's a great place to sit outside and enjoy some good food and company!

why i'd go back: it's cheap and quick, and huge portions. it's close. and byob. patio. good for groups with little to no wait. i've been here a few times but still don't LOVE it. if you're there, don't expect great service. if you're a thai food snob, it's not the best - but it'll kick a craving. like a lot of similar thai places - most dishes taste the same here...

The food was delicious. I had the panang curry, which I would probably get with rice next time instead of the noodles but overall it was awesome. The service wasn't great but the food made up for it. I'll definitely go back.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaale no. Like many of you, I consider myself a foodie. My area of expertise is Thai food. And yes, I am Thai so I am allowed to be. This place is close to DePaul so I've been taken there many times by friends. Their decor is cute, and it's BYOB, so I really wanted to like them but... it's just impossible. Their selling point is obviously noodles, and that's where their strength should be as well. They do have a larger array of noodle dishes than most places I've seen but that doesn't mean they're good. The pad thai is the worst I've ever had.. I'm serious. And I have had pad thai made with peanut butter. It's so terribly bland and dare I say it needs more grease? The pad kee mao is sloppy and has things that do not belong in it, like baby corn. And of course, nothing is ever spicy enough. They never, and I mean never, make their food nearly as hot as it should be. I always ask for it "really hot, Thai hot, extra spicy" and other obnoxious ways to get my point across, and I can never detect a bit of heat in any of their dishes. So when I ask if they can please bring me sliced Thai chilies in fish sauce, a Thai condiment staple, they look at me confused and come back with raw sliced jalapenos. What? Also, you do not serve lemon wedges with pad thai. It's lime. Would you have a lemon wedge in your margarita? No.

Definitely a fan but would say 4.5 stars. Really good Thai food. Really good lunch special. Great chicken coconut curry. Usually pretty attentive waitstaff. They will adjust spiciness to a certain preference. All around good place but there is something that is lacking that makes it a great Thai restaurant. I have had many discussions with my friends while eating here. They need to make a dish that stands out. Until they get that, this place will be a quick lunch time choice for me.

We chose Noodles in the Pot because of other Yelp reviews. It was good, but not very good. The noodle dish I ordered had plenty of veggies, bu tthe sauce was a bit too sweet and nondiscript while the noodles were chewy. Overall decent. If I lived here, I would search for another Thai restuarant to call my Thai 'home base.'

Coconut chicken curry. Never disappoints. Also, they almost always have coupons in the money mailer, so you can typically get a ton of food for a very reasonable price. BYOB to boot. I've tried a number of the other entrees, and I think the coconut chicken curry really is the standout item on the menu. Service is usually pretty attentive quick as well.

Honestly some of the best tasting Thai food I've ever had. The Phuket noodles (spinach noodles with napa cabbage, onion, carrot, bean sprout and egg), were amazing. I got it with tofu, and the curry tasted just so good, a bit sweet and went great with the spinach noodles. The Pad See Eiw was equally good, I got it with beef and it was definitely some of the best I've ever had. The Pad Thai was also pretty good, but I've never been a huge fan of Pad Thai. Solid prices and great food made this a great option for take-out, I can't remember the service from the first time I eat at the restaurant. Looking forward to coming back next time I'm in Chicago.

Sorry I have to write a mediocre review about this place but yeah. . . I have experienced better. I have never ate in the place so if I do I will totally write a better review. I ordered the first time there and it took almost two hours to get me my food. They did not call me and tell me about traffic so I was hungry and pissed off. The guy apologized and I STILL had to pay full price for cold, soggy Thai food. Very irritated and wanted to give up on the place. Second time was not as bad but there was hardly any spice to my food and I asked for four stars. This time it was hot because I did not order on a Friday afternoon. So yeah, I think I might want to give this place a third shot and actually sit down in there and eat because delivery and pick-up is just not working for this "yelp-er".

NITP gets a mediocre "meh" from me. I had high hopes for this noodle joint based on the reviews, but I can't say I was impressed. A Friday dinner with friends began nicely around 7:30 with prompt service from our waiter. Starving, we ordered the thai rolls to start. Good minty flavor but on the dry side. I could have done without the faux crabmeat. Entrees consisting of steaming noodles piled 2 portions high also arrived promptly. Out of our three choices -- pad khee mao w/ chix, prik pao noodles w/ beef, and pad see ew -- the beef dish was definitely the winner. Sadly the "spicy" dishes didn't have much kick until I pilled on the chirashi sauce. Also I found that my chicken dish was a bit overcooked with a slight burnt flavor. Meanwhile the restaurant filled up and our waiter was no where to be found. A good 15 minutes after we finished eating we were finally able to flag someone down to get the check and order a green tea bubble tea to go. Again, another meh for dessert. Good green tea flavor, but beware, their version of bubble tea is more like a frozen milkshake (not the liquid tea and milk kind) with tasteless tapioca on the bottom. All in all, not a bad meal for the price, but I'll explore other options in LP before running back.

Simply the best Thai dish I've ever had the pleasure of putting in my belly. The chicken supreme almost brought me to tears. Yesterday I wasn't a big fan of Thai food in general, now I'm Noodles in the Pot's #1 fan. I'm going to start a fan club and send out monthly newsletters about how I love to sit in my underwear and eat The Chicken Supreme. Sautéed chicken with Napa, carrots, baby corn, mushrooms and hot chili paste melded together to make a dish that is worthy for royalty. My one and only minor complaint is that it wasn't hot enough. I like my food very spicy, as anyone who knows me will shout. This I'm sure can be fixed next time I order, as I will take them to make it ass-burning style. We ordered at 1:01 p.m. and our order arrived at 1:17 p.m. Sixteen minutes seems impossible. I honestly believe that they have a Sprinter van roaming the Lakeview area. In the back of this van, is a man and his wok, making food so good it makes angels cry. Order from this place I command you.

Great food. VERY reasonably priced. The interior is beautiful. When I was there, I had the Pad Thai and it was delicious.

My new favorite Thai/Noodle place. It's conveniently situated through an alley from Lincoln to Halstead for those who want to catch a bite before the show at Lincoln Hall (*review coming imminently, btw)... Not that there's anything wrong with LH's fare offerings, but for those who enjoy a delicious spicy/sweet curry to a juicy burger, NITP is the place to go. I didn't mention it yet, but now's a good time: It's BYOB!! Awesome, level 1 right there. Okay, and the food is served within 10-15 minutes of ordering aka Awesome, level 2. Will they reach Awesome, level 3? You bet! The prices are solidly on the reasonable side!! I ordered the Chicken Coconut Curry, which is served with golden noodles and crispy noodles and is also accompanied by the cucumber salad (one of my standards with Thai cuisine). Everything was perfect and sweet/spicy sliced jalapenos are available as a table condiment if you want to up the ante. Overall, I was very happy upon departing NITP and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, affordable and satisfying fix of Thai food within close proximity to LH, Tonic Room, Alive One, etc.

I love this place. I would go here once a week when I attended DePaul. I introduced a lot of my friends to Thai food. The food is delicious!! The pad see ewi is great. I also like their coconut curry!! Service is not the best.. but it's worth ignoring that for the food! Their bubble teas are perfect!!! One of my favorite spots in the city

I think the lunch special pushes this from a 3.5 to a 4. 6.50 for an appetizer + entree. For my appetizer I got the cucumber salad, which is amazing. Crisp and refreshing. As my entree: Pad See Eiw. I think, if we continue to hit up the special I'll branch out. The Pad See Eiw is good, it's just not inspiring or anything. I must say though, the service for lunch was super speedy which was really nice when you have a limited lunch. But i would recommend that cucumber salad to anyone. And I've had the fried tofu before and I remember liking it a lot...

one of the first places I ate at when I first moved into lincoln park over four years ago. They have never let me down! I always get the beef bai tong noodles, I don't even ask for the menu anymore! But the phuket noodles are also WONDERFUL. I have never brought anyone who didn't love the food here!

I've been here a couple times and I know I have enjoyed it, though I don't remember what I had or what it tasted like. I do remember that the prices are reasonable, the food arrives quickly, and it's BYOB. Overall, a decent experience and while I wouldn't travel to Lincoln Park just for a meal here (I live in the WP), if I were in the area looking for cheap Thai, I'd definitely hit up Noodles in the Pot.

Did not feel like this was authentic Thai food, but some asian fusion. Prices were good, but dinner was mostly noodles and not much flavor.

I am by no means a Thai food expert, but I do enjoy it quite a bit. Enjoyed a simple dinner here last night. The line up? We split the Crab Rangoon to start...very tasty but not too large a portion. Then shared the Chicken Supreme and the Chicken Coconut Curry. Both of the entrees were excellent and HUGE portions. All washed down with bubble tea (green tea version is a must do). Service was quick and competent but bland. The restaurant itself? Simple, spartan and kind of cramped. I took off a star because we were seated near the wait station in the front room and there was a trash can sitting beside our table overflowing with trash. Onto the ground. Just a thought, but maybe one of the staff could take the trash out?? It's spilling on the ground and the waiters and bus boys are stepping over it - better strategy would be to get rid of it. Call me crazy.

Two thumbs up for the Panang Curry and the Phuket Noodles! Noodles in the Pot was clean, the servers were friendly, and the food was good and quick. I liked the inside of the restaurant with the patio and the enclosed area if it's cold. The only thing off-putting was the radio station they had playing (Spin Doctors? seriously?) and the smoke detector kept chirping because they needed to replace the battery. I think some soothing Asian CD in the background would have been less distracting. There is a large menu, and I look forward to going back and trying different dishes there. Now if only parking was easier in that neighborhood...

I've relocated to Minneapolis from Chicago and have yet to find a place as good (and as cheap) as Noodles in the Pot. I fell in love with this small joint my freshman year. Since then, I try to make a point to come back whenever I make it back down to Chicago. The Pad Thai is arguably what they're known for. It's tasty. Bottom line. Try the Pad See Ew. The chicken and shrimp is plentiful. I didn't realize (good) Thai food was so hard to come by in Minneapolis. This makes me sad. NIP=So worth it. Prices are VERY reasonable too.

When our original destination was closed, my boyfriend and I walked across the street to Noodles in the Pot. Thank god we did. I ordered the Pad See Eiw with tofu, which is how I judge Thai restaurants, and he got Penang Beef. Before our food even got there, our waters were refilled numerous times. First came our appetizers: a coconut soup for him (so good) and vegetable rolls for me. I was expecting standard fried rolls, but instead got smaller, sushi-size pieces with raw vegetables and the best satay sauce I've ever had. After a short wait, the food came out, and we devoured it. Portions were healthy, and the food was phenomenal. Mine may have been better than the first Pad See Eiw I ever had (sorry Bangkok Balcony in Pittsburgh, I still love you). There are no words other than "incredibly delicious and exactly what I had in mind." Small pieces of tofu, and the perfect ratio of sauce:egg:noodles:tofu. My boyfriend loved his; I only tried the sauce (yummy). So great food, perfect service, and reasonable prices: Two entrees, two appetizers, and a soda ended up costing less than $30, before tip. I shall return!

I called the wrong location! When I went to this location, they were very accommodating. I get lost very easily so I was reluctant to go to the other location. They made the food for me and in less than 5 minutes, I couldn't be happier with the quality of the food. I'm pretty picky too so I'll definately be ordering from this location again. cashew chicken & crazy noodle were both delicious!

Came to eat w two frds the other. Only one server during the lunch rush... which took forever to get our food. At 1st the server gave us some dirty look and as he cleared the crow his service got better. The food was ok and the Thai Iced Tea was way too sweet for our taste.

I've had a few average experiences with Thai food in Chicago, but Noodles in the Pot FAR exceeded my expectations. The wait staff is courteous, and is typically there when I need something. This place can get busy, but they always seem to handle it well. It's BYOB, so know that, but in my opinion, that's a good thing. The cost is VERY reasonable, and the portions are great. My personal favorite is the Coconut Curry with Chicken and glass noodles. The Satay is fantastic as well, and as a $6 appetizer, it is more than adequete for 3 people. Great portions. Overall, this is my favorite Thai restaurant in the city.

Me and NITP really have a nice arrangement. I go to her website, sign up for a membership, pick out what I want to eat, order (with a 15% online-only discount!), and then, 3 minutes later, somehow, miraculously, by forces unbeknownst to man (sorry ladies, 'unbeknownst to people' just doesn't have the same ring), my food is ready. And then I pick it up. And then I come home. And then I eat. I heartily recommend these dishes: Pad Woon Sen w/ beef (best I've ever had), Pad Thai (crowd favorite), Spicy Basil Leaves w/ ground chicken (make sure to get it HOT), and the curries. Usually the serving size is enough for two meals, unless you're fat (or hungry). Their lunch special is also great; I'm sure it's been mentioned here ($6.50-$7 for an appetizer + entree, during lunch hours). The chili paste they use is awesome as well - every time I go in, I want to steal a container off a table on my way out. I asked the chef which brand they use. He replied: "Bottle with cock and green top." Translation: Clear bottle, green bottle cap, gold-colored font on bottle with rooster logo surrounded by eastern Asian dialect characters. Anyway, cheap, quality eats, hit this one up fo sho.

So it's 6pm on a Sunday and I've tried to eat healthy all day to make up for a weekend of bad eating behavior. But naturally, all I've wanted to eat all day is something greasy. Cue the craving for Pad Thai. Noodles in the Pot is by far the best Thai place I've found in the city. The portions are large, cheap and extremely delicious. The staff is really nice and delivery is usually pretty quick. If you want to eat there, the patio is great and never full (and it's byob). Also, make sure to order online if you're going to do delivery or take out because they give you 15% off your bill.

Meh. Yelpers oversold this place. It is pretty standard Thai fare, even a bit expensive. My drunken noodles was quite sweet and lacking a supplementary flavor, be it a spicy or sour note. Also, tea is $2 or more, which I find steep. I would go back if someone suggested it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.

Their lunch special is a very good deal. They service was super fast, it was almost like the staff already knew what we would order before we even place it. My friend and I shared the Pad See Eiw and the Panang Curry- two of my favorite Thai dishes! The crispy noodle with the Panang curry, even with a stuffed nose I could smell the coconut milk. The crispy noodle had the perfect texture and tasted so good with the Panang curry. As for the Pad See Eiw, the restaurant did a good job on it. I don't think my stove at home will ever be powerful enough to make good pad see eiw, but it's okay because I can get it at Noodle in the Pot. The food there made me happy.

I'm sorry. This is partially my own fault, but... I am a vegetarian. I don't know what I ordered off the veggie menu when I first visited Noodles in the Pot, but it was horrid. It literally tasted the way that a nail salon smells. I avoided eating at this place for a year or so. Then a friend convinced me that I was mistaken, or that this experience was isolated. So I went back. I couldn't remember the name of the dish I had hated, and ended up accidentally ordering it a second time. And it still tasted the way a nail salon smells. I assume it must only be that singular dish that is so abhorrent. I have never met someone who hated this place as much as I have...twice. In summation, if you are a vegetarian, beware.

The best Tom Yum soup I ever had. I was sick with a cold visiting friends, and their soup made me feel better right away! The spring rolls were yummy, with avocado and a peanut sauce, Loved it! I would love to go back one day!

Our favorite thai delivery, mostly credited to the amazing pad thai with chicken, we also frequent the spicy chili noodles. It's good for dining as well due to the BYOB.

This place is pretty good. I've dined in once and tonight I got delivery. The delivery was super fast..maybe only 20 minutes which I enjoyed because I was really hungry. I love Thai Chicken Fried Rice and that's what I got. It's not my favorite (Duckwalk is) but it's still really good. I also really enjoyed the crab rangoon. I think eating there is better than getting the delivery so if I ever go back I'll be dining in.

Best cheap Thai place in the LP - Pad See Eiw with chicken or beef is delish - Inexpensive with generous portions - Beautiful outdoor patio with hanging flowers - BYOB - FAST service (if you wanna chit chat with the waiter - go elsewhere) - 15% discount for ordering online - Carry out and delivery options (also FAST!)

Worst experience ever Its almost embarrassing to even post it but I feel the need to share it. I placed an order online and when I went to pick it up it wasn't available all they had to say was "oh something wrong with internet." So I decided to wait for my food to be ready which took about 10 min after the food was here since I had wasted my lunch time in there waiting for the food to be ready I decided to give it a quick bite before I got in my car and left, well the waiter by the name of "Hon "takes my plate away in my face and says if you want to eat here I need to put it in a none plastic plate... I was like what first you mess up my order then you take my food away in my face just when I literally just wanted to grab one bite from it.. That waiter was extremely rude so I just decided to leave. As I walked the waiter screams at me -yes Hon is my name call to complain actually my manager is here if you want to talk to him- I cant believe I even spent like 13.00 in luch there when I got treated worse than shit. That waiter was probably having a bad day but defenitly will never come back to this location

I've never dined-in here but ordered carry-out here several times and I love it. It's a tad on the pricey side for Thai, but if you order online you get 10 percent off. Every time I place an order it's ready within 10 minutes-nice and speedy! I also like that they can make a dish as mild or as spicy as you like. I always get the Chicken Supreme with rice and I've never a bad piece of chicken-nice and tender white meat. If I could give half stars this place would earn 4.5 :)

Everybody needs their default Thai Place. It's the place in their neighborhood that they frequent for a quick Thai meal or for takeout. Noodles in the Pot or "Noodles" will always be that place for me even though I don't live in the immediate neighborhood anymore. I came to this place at least once a week - sometimes even more - when I went to DePaul, and this has been my go to Thai spot. It's perfect for a quick, casual lunch. They have lunch specials which includes an entre and an appetizer. Even if you're getting takeout, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my order. The patio is also great when it's nice outside. HINT: Dominick's on Fullerton/Sheffield prints Noodles coupons on the back of the receipts. The coupons are for buy two entrees get one free. It's perfect for a group of three or for a really hungry couple. Since it's BYOB - run to Dominick's, grab some drinks, get a coupon from your receipt, and go to Noodles. ANOTHER HINT: Ask for the pad see eiw deep fried. Trust me.

A true gem of a restaurant in Lincoln Park. Cheap and delicious food, and relatively good service. I frequent many a Thai restaurant in Chicago, and I'd easily say their Pad Thai is one of the best I've had. I don't make it up to LP for dinner very often, but this is usually my first choice. Oh yea, and this place is BYOB, just saying...
