Terrible! The worst chinese food I have ever had in 29 years on this planet. Seriously! I got chicken lo mein and it smelled awful--like feet, actually. I threw the entire thing out. The potstickers and veggie dish I ordered were not any better. I really hope this helps people when looking for a chinese restaurant to order from. I found it on Grubhub.com and thought is was going to be good, but was very disappointed. In fact, I threw the whole thing out and ordered a whole other dinner from a different restaurant. And, they only take cash!

This review is for Miss Egg Roll's awesome delivery service. If I wanted to speak in detail to someone four times I would have left my house to venture into the world of idiots instead of ordering food. I was asked directions from their location to my house........How am I supposed to know where their stupid restaurant is? You're a Chinese restaurant, %95 of your business is delivery, figure it out, don't call me 4 times, Peterson and Western are major streets. When she somehow found my apartment building she ignored my instructions to ring the bell and made me walk down 3 flights of stairs to get my food. When I unwrapped it, sauce spilled all over me and my carpet, the boxes were overfilled and incorrectly packaged. So thanks Miss Egg Roll for setting the bar so low that you make literally all other delivery services look freakin fantastic. I would rather talk to the wing place back in Georgia that would cuss me out if I didn't speak clearly enough for them to understand, because at least they had really good wings. You're food is just average.....actually the beef stew was pretty good but in no way worth the trouble.

Cheap and fast food. The place may not look like much but the food is still good. You get plenty for your money. I love their crab ragoon here and I always like ordering my abundance of choices fried rices spicy. Still coming to try them all.

I tried the fried shrimps and shrimp fried rice from here and they were good. Esp the rice. Got a large box for $6 as a take away. It was more than enough for me and my wife, we ate and still some was left. It's a good value for money, Will definitely go back again next time. They only accept cash as payment.

OK what did I just eat here that had me sick all night? They gave me spoiled smelly food. I haven't been sick like that in about twenty years. The oil they use is old and I just can't figure out what the hell was smelling weird. This is not authentic Chinese food its bullshit order at your own risk.

Let's start with the good news. A lot of the items on their menu are really tasty, and come in a pretty generous portion for the price. I love the shrimp lo mein, and I've NEVER loved lo mein before (I wanted something that would be easy to eat out of a container, on the el, and noodles won over rice). The shrimp were a great size, and I got more than just a few of them -- win! The curry chicken is pretty good, too, but not as spicy as I expected. The fried rices, of all varieties, are better than standard. The pepper beef is really tasty, and came with tomatoes in addition to my usual green peppers -- yum! The crab rangoon is pretty good, although on their menu its called both crab "gagoon" and crab "gangoo". I don't really know what that's all about... And, you have to specifically ask for that neon-red dipping sauce that comes with it, otherwise they'll just give you packets of duck sauce. Also, when you ask for the neon-red sauce, they will pretend not to know what you mean for a few moments, and then try to take away your duck sauce (as if you can't have both). It takes a little persuasion. The egg rolls, however, I think are pretty gross. They might be stuffed with canned tuna fish. I would have thought that "Miss Egg Roll" herself could do better. Maybe this is what egg rolls are supposed to taste like, and I'm too Americanized to know it? Well, it's all a matter of taste, and these aren't mine. The whole place is dingy and hot, but I kind of like it. Last time I went in, there was an old guy attacking the buttons on some kind of slot machine or video poker game, pretty funny. Step in, get some cheap Chinese, and take it home (I only live 1/2 block away). It probably IS the best Chinese in Uptown, but we don't have a lot of really good choices right now... You get bang for your buck, for sure -- and that buck better be cash, no credit cards!

Yes this place deserves my review. I really enjoy the orange chicken .Pot stickers are good. I order from them once a month and it is cheap cost and I think the quality is pretty good. The soup and eggrolls are great. The lady that take your order talks fast but she is very detailed. I have not been disappointed, for twenty bucks you get tons of food.

I live steps from this restaurant so Miss Egg Roll has become my default chinese restaurant depot. Overall, everything is average and acceptable in a way that I am content with the exchange of money for quick food. Food really isn't bad and you get plenty of it. Actually, what I really recently appreciated was the Chicken Rice Soup. I was sick, ordered this, and the soup is really soothing. It's a really simple broth, rice, chicken, slivers of green onions. Did the trick.

I like this place. I always get either the Kung Pao chicken or the shrimp/crabmeat fried rice (which isn't on the menu). The food is very simple and they always cook it fast. It's super cheap, too! even delivery minimum is just $5. Only sucky part is that they are cash only.

The only place open for delivery on Jan 1st at 11am.... I should have waited until noon. This was awful... the SHRIMP WASN'T DEVEINED!!!!!!!! Not even in the EGG ROLL at MISS EGG ROLL!! Not only was the shrimp in the Egg Roll & Shrimp Fried Rice not deveined but the food was just plain awful. I couldn't even eat it... now that's saying a lot, especially when you've been dieting to fit into your NYE dress and that champagne hangover is screaming "I NEED GREASY CHINESE!"

This is by far my favorite Chinese delivery in Uptown. The kung pao chicken and crab rangoon are fantastic. The portions are huge and it's cheap cheap cheap. Delivery is also super speedy - usually only 20mins! Only complaint - cash only :(

When I lived in Uptown, this was my go-to place for cheap Chinese (for more expensive, try Wing Ho further north on Sheridan). Their food is nothing super-special, but their service is quick (if you call ahead) for take-out, food is yummy, if a bit greasy. Of course, that's to be expected, it's cheap take-out Chinese food from a strip mall in Uptown, dammit. Their delivery is usually SUPER quick, even if you don't live particularly close. They're not open too late (hardly any of these places are).

I just moved across the street from this spot. I decided to check it out last night for a dinner of chicken and vegetables fried rice. They were just closing but I never knew this information until I was leaving and asked what time they closed. They made my fried rice a la minute and with a smile! The vegetables were slightly blanched and the chicken was still juicy believe it or not. Also, I ordered a small and was given a large (not like I needed it, but it was still nice). The rice was great, I will definitely be back to experience more of there menu which obviously has a lot of heart put into it.

The Mongolian beef had a thicker sauce, which was promising, but the taste was rather bland. The kung pao chicken was spicy (they asked if I wanted it spicy, and I said yes) so that was nice, although the flavor was again a bit watered down. The order of egg rolls had two, one was gigantic, the other was a decent size, and they were really well fried. Unfortunately the flavor was off, way too much cabbage in the mix. The pot stickers had a very good flavor and were large, and well fried. Delivery was very quick, and the the containers were tall cylinders, which was unusual, but for a "large"' order they certainly didn't skimp, there was plenty of food. Overall it's your average Chinese place, but I'd be willing to give them another shot to see if anything turns out for the better. For this order their credit card machine was down, but it sounds like they accept cards, and this was just a one time problem.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
