Airport food. Soup from a can, cold gyros, Greek fries that are just regular fries. My piece of baklava was the worst I've had in my life, almost zero nuts, just dough. Totally marginal service. I have no idea why anyone would go here more than once. I will never return.

I decided to try this GRK Kitchen location because the lines for the food trucks were too long. Had the Handheld chicken kabob on a pita which was a little too heavy on the tzatziki sauce and very hard to 'hold in my hand' and eat (messy). Ended up eating it open-face style, cutting it with a fork/knife which defeated the purpose-the pita was thick and hard to cut. On a positive note, I also ordered the baklava which was perfectly made, nice crunchy phillo with just enough honey/nuts (not soggy and soaked in honey like some baklava)! I will be back for this dessert!

I think the yelp definition of 2 stars ("Meh. I've experienced better.") sums it up perfectly. GRK is late into a very saturated market. There are so many of these greek places in the loop now, GRK is one of the most expensive and has the lowest quality food. The prices here are enough of a turn off, but the food doesn't help either. The pita's taste like grocery store quality and I agree with Anna P in that the food is quite cold. You would be much better served visiting any of the other greek places in the loop, my favorite is Hafia Cafe on Wells.

AWESOME FOOD!!!! i went today for the first time and had the chicken roti plate and it was sooo good. i now have a new favorite aside from Roti.

I actually agree with most of Anna P's review. The ordering is absolutely chaotic; consequently you hardly know what you will end up with. I had the steak pita and it was pretty tasty, except I got the bottom of the barrel on the cucumbers and tomatoes and tzatki sauce on only a third of the sandwich. Then as I am paying the fellow shortchanged me. They need a lot of work on the front end if they expect to stay in business I am sorry to say.

Meh, I've had better Greek food to be honest. It's a bit average. They take FOREVER just to give you an order of fries.... Do I seriously have to call them in? And as I was waiting for the fries, I got asked TWICE if I needed help with anything... Did they forget I was waiting for my fries? Yes... My fries are quite important.

LOVE GRK!!! As a vegetarian there aren't many good options in the loop but GRK has become my regular spot. The salads are always great, the veggies are always fresh and the greek dressing is so good. I've recently been turned on to the spanakopita after it was recommended by the girl working the line and let me tell you its delicious!!! Also, the greek fries are amazing!!! Hot crispy fires with crumbled feta and lemon, YUM! I can't get enough! To top it all off the greek froyo with baklava bites & honey is one of the best things I've ever ate! I can't get enough! All my coworkers have become obsessed so we've started placing catering orders for our working lunches.

I had lunch here with a friend and we had an enjoyable meal. Décor: It is a nice looking place that is well-lit and very clean. You can see your food as they make it and the food stations are not messy at all. There are a bunch of tables inside, and a handful outside, but it seems that most people grab-and-go so you should be able to find a seat if you want. Bathroom: I'm not sure if there is one - I did not seek one out while there. Staff: They are friendly here and move efficiently. Unlike other reviewers, I don't think they rush anyone who is ordering but you do have to be ready and know what you want! The cashier was very friendly and quick as well - all the staff is geared toward grab-and-go. Food: After reading a few poor reviews I can honestly say that those poor people should try it again. The food here is good! I had a "handheld" pita with... ah, never mind, I had a gyro plain and simple. It was good-sized (LOTS of meat!) the tzatziki sauce was very tasty and the cucumbers+tomatoes were a good choice. I got extra sauce and that was a mistake! Be weary that they will overload if you ask for extra sauce! Value: The prices are cheap given the portion sizes - great bang for your buck! I'm a big fan of Greek food and this is a solid spot (besides Greektown, of course!) to satisfy a craving. I know I'll be back and, in fact, I think I will be adding them to my regular rotation!

Comparable to Roti however slimmed down.. they have the pita, bowl, or salad format going on. The pita option will be a messy way to eat lunch so don't go sitting on the stairs outside by Chase with this one.. napkins and fork will be needed. Good variety of sauces. I didnt try the greek frozen yogurt..

Very, very mediocre and not worth the price. Spanakopita was greasy, bland, and had some strange filler in it. The side salad of cucumbers and tomatoes had zero seasoning. The pita was dry and hard. I asked for tahini sauce and got maybe a teaspoon worth. They have an outside seating area is nice, but they need a trash can out there. I should have gone to the food truck just outside.

The GRK experience is superior to any other workday lunch spot available in the loop. Outdoor patio seating on the second floor + outstanding "Chipotle-style" Greek food make for a killer combo.

Really surprised to see this place only has 3 stars! I come here often because their food is delicious! And you get large portions. I've had the Greek salad and rice plate. I've only tried the chicken kebab, but you get so much meat! In comparison to Roti, the chicken is a lot more fresh, and tender. You really do get big portions, so it's really worth the $8-$9.

I frequently ate their food when I worked at my old job. My old co-workers were fans. We ordered it for lunches we had in our conference room to commemorate certain milestones for our fellow employees (work anniversaries, going away parties and so forth). I wasn't aware that a location was so close to my old and current office until I had lunch with an old co-worker. She suggested it, which excited me since it had been a long time since I had it. The restaurant is located down Clark Street past the Ann Taylor Loft. The front part has limited seating, so snagging a table at the peak lunch times can be problematic. They do have outdoor dining. You can take advantage of that in nicer weather. I'm not sure if there's more seating in the back, but I'd assume so since I saw people walking back there with their food. We came in around 12:40 and managed to snag a table by the beverage cooler toward the back near the line to place your order. You can order your food in three different ways - handheld (in a pita or wrap), plate or salad. Ordering is similar to ordering at Chipolte. You go down the line selecting your filing, sauce and toppings. Meat filing options include chicken rotisserie, chicken kebob, steak, pork, sausage and lamb & beef. For non-meat eaters, they offer veggies, falafel and spanakopita (plate only). Next, you choose a sauce. Options include tzatziki and tahini (regular and hot). Finally, you select your toppings. Options include tomatoes & cucumbers, chopped romaine lettuce, feta cheese and hummus. For my meal, I had the chicken rotisserie plate. If you pick a plate, you get a choice between rice or orzo pasta. I selected the pasta. You definitely have to get the pasta as it is delicious! I topped my plate with tomatoes & cucumbers, chopped romaine lettuce, crumbled feta cheese and tahini sauce. I was also given the option of a white or wheat pita. I chose the white one. It was served warm, which was wonderful. The plate cost $8.83, which is a good deal since you get a good amount of food. I also liked how they gave you a plastic bag so you could take it home if you couldn't finish it all. Ambiance wise, it was decent, but somewhat crowded during the peak lunch hours. It wasn't super loud in there so I was able to have a conversation with my old co-worker without having to yell across the table. Overall, good experience and I definitely see myself coming back to GRK Greek Kitchen and ordering a plate or a wrap to-go.

Wow? Two bad reviews? Really? I just went there for the first time, and really enjoyed my meal. I got a gyro and Greek fries. The gyro was LOADED with my requested toppings, and I couldn't even eat it all. It wasn't my favorite pita, but the meat was tasty and the fries were outstanding. No one rushed me even though I'm a terrible decision maker, and when I asked questions the guy behind the counter was super helpful. I can't wait to go back and try the frozen Greek yogurt and spanakopita as recommended by Harold J. Give it a shot.

Oh dear... So far there is only one review and it is only one star? Do refute what Anna P said and perhaps raise the rating just because I can? Or... Do I tell the truth and support Anna? Well... I must be honest. This GRK Greek Kitchen (Monroe) should be avoided at all costs. Just go to Benjyehuda if you are looking for something in this direction. If Benji is closed I suggest McDonalds or perhaps the frozen food section at Walgreens across the street?. The food is terrible, the service is terrible. Avoid.

This location of GRK opened just a few weeks ago, and I was excited to have a new option for lunch close to my building. I have now given them three chances, and I have to say that I will not be back. First, they rush you. As you are waiting in line, not anywhere near the spot to order, they will yell "WHAT ARE YOU HAVING!?!?!" in your general direction until you realize they are talking to you. Then you get the pleasure of yelling your order back to them, over the heads of the ten people still in front of you that have already finished yelling their orders. I personally like to get to where the actual food is and take a look at it before I decide what to order. You do not get to do that here! As your food moves down the line, you are not given a chance to actually tell those assembling it what you would like on it. They will send your food down the line 2 minutes ahead of you, it will sit there and get cold, and then they will start to wrap it up before giving you a chance to let them know you would like toppings, etc. Honestly, I feel like I am annoying them by being a customer. Second, and this is the kicker, the food is bad. Every time I have gone, I have gotten extremely dry meat, cold everything, and hard / stale bread. It's just not good and seem like everything has been overcooked and left to sit out for hours. Gross. So, I will not be returning, and I suggest you do not either. Head over to Roti, Beniyehuda, or Naf Naf for much better food and service.

Perfect spot for a mid-work lunch! Super quick and fresh! Loved being able to sit outside on a beautiful day!

My review of this restaurant would have been much better a month ago. It must be under new management, because all of a sudden portions are skimpy and they look for any reason to charge you extra for things that used to be included. Food is still OK, but it is definitely not the value it used to be.

This place has good food yes. Every time we order from Greek Kitchen they forget something in the order, or mess it up somehow. The last time they forgot someones whole meal, and hummus in one of the plates, another time they forgot falafel and all the sauces we ordered. Now this past time, they forgot 4 pitas, an order of greek fries and our sauces. We called them and they said we were the only carry out order they had.....???? Why was our things forgotten. Also, we have been waiting for our pitas and fries to arrive for over 30 minutes, not to mention we waited an hour to get things forgotten from our order. Its very frustrating. Every single time we order, they mess it up and forget something.

I went during off peak hours and got the plate dish. It was very tasteful and fresh. Their fries are interesting. It has much better quality food and prices than Greek town. Although the group I went with works nearby and have had plenty of poor service because They rush them.
