The food was pretty good, but the service was unfriendly and painfully slow. I'll give them credit, it was a Monday morning and I'm not usually the most jolly but the window adds seem to emphasize that they're a breakfast place with smoothies, wraps, yogurt parfaits, etc. Color me surprised when I walk up to the register and the crew member just stares at me. We ordered a few breakfast sandwiches. The southwest-type burrito and apinach, mushroom, tomato, and goat cheese egg wrap. I was quickly run up without so much of a pleasant end remark or any sign of appreciation for coming in. We waited for about 10 minutes for our food and popped a squat to eat. The food was in fact, pretty great. My egg wrap was warm and it had a nice even balance of ingredients on the inside. I was excited about the goat cheese as it complimented every single one of my taste buds. My man had the burrito and he said it was pretty good, except that the pico it was dressed with was a bit watery and made the whole burrito a little soggy. I could see myself going to this restaurant again but I will avoid this location as much as possible!

Rating: -100. I found a huge moth at the bottom of my salad today. Needless to say, I'm never going back.

Wow literally 4th time in a row that they forget to add something or my order is wrong. How does this always happen? Oh maybe because they are busy talking and socializing in the back to actually pay attention to the paper? For $14.00 I am let down. The food is not all that great. Wont make the mistake of going back a 5th time. Listen to all the reviews. They 1-2 stars are all spot on.

I decided to change up the post-run fuel. I ordered the spinach and goat cheese wrap, it was about $3.50. I thought 'man that's cheap, compared to my Protein Bar burrito. It was ready in record time but it was only 10am during the week and most of the breakfast rush was already at work. I picked up my sack and opened it up and thought, 'man that's tiny!'. It's was a nice small breakfast option for hot breakfast food lovers like me...but it's more of a snack or light breakfast option rather than active adult fuel. I convinced myself I was satiated for 2 hours, which for me was okay because by then it was lunchtime anyway.

I think Freshii has really nice tasty, healthy options. But they've continually gotten my order wrong, which is frustrating when I'm taking it up to my office to eat and can't ask them to remake it. I order the bliss bowl when I go there for lunch, which is supposed to have goat cheese in it. The last two times I've ordered it, there was no goat cheese. So today, I specifically checked off the goat cheese box on the order form. I also decided to get tofu added in for $2. Result: More than enough goat cheese, but no tofu! By the time I realized, I was already back at my desk and didn't have time to go back. Like I said, frustrating, especially since Freshii can get pretty pricey with extra add-ins.

Freshii in the beginning was great but over the years they have downsized their portions and change their menu. The worst change is meat is not added to many of the items, you have to add it. This raises the price. Before a good portion of the items came with meat now you need to add it separately. On the subject of meat when you do get it, the chunks of chicken let's say, are smaller. Perhaps this is good and we are too use to eating larger proportions. I rather have larger chunks of meats others may not. The best part of Freshii, this is where their true strength lies, is the customization. In fact you could create your own and put whatever you want in it from their lists. This customization allows a person to easily keep track of what they are eating. I say if you are looking for a way to eat healthier and keep track of what you eat then Freshii is the place for you. Otherwise I do not think it is worth it at least not on a daily basis.

For a semi-quick healthy bite in the loop, Freshii is a great way to go. It can be a bit pricey depending on what you're in the mood for but the staff is quick, especially during those crazy busy lunch rushes. Alex at the 111 W. Jackson location is so friendly and always takes a few minutes to chat with me when I stop in. He's the best! It's definitely worth stopping by and trying to switch up your usual lunch routine. They also have great breakfast options - my favorite is the bacon, egg and cheese pocket!

Eugh, this place is gross. I ordered one of their popular salads, something with salmon that looked good on the menu. The salmon looked like it had just come out of the freezer, with deliberate grill marks yet looking like a frozen piece of lard. The spinach salad was full sized spinach, not baby spinach, so eating the salad was messy. The avocado was mushy and not at all fresh, like it had been marinated in citrus for hours to keep its color. Seriously, cutting an avocado fresh is not that hard. AND, it cost $1.25 for 1/4 of an avocado that tasted like it had been canned. Finally, the worst part was the dill cucumber sauce, which ended up being just tzaiziki sauce, with no dill to complement the salmon. Basically, a waste of the $12 I paid, which was kind of steep for a salad to go. I couldn't even finish the salad, it was so ridiculously bland. If you're looking for a quick lunch, check out one of the other restaurants in the area. Definitely will not be back.

Pretty much Protein Bar only with way more options for customization. Bowls, burritos, wraps, or pastas with brown rice, quinoa, chickpeas, beets, edamame, roasted red peppers, and pretty much any other topping you can think of. I don't think it's quite as good as Protein Bar, but if you're a complete control freak about what's on what you're eating then you'll love Freshii.

Used to be my favorite lunch spot when they first opened but then their food became inconsistent. It's like they're not measuring out the ingredients anymore and there are times when they forget to put in an ingredient all together. After this happened 3 times I finally gave up. Also if you get the chicken warrior bowl it feels like you're eating mostly rice. Would be nice if there were more veggies in there.

Melissa M. made an excellent point - the ordering system here is unnecessarily complicated and confusing. However, once you conquer this issue, you'll discover the food is healthy, fresh and delicious. I've tried and loved their salads, and am now a fan of their bowls. The Bliss Bowl is fantastic, and my recent discovery of the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl has me here at least 2 days a week. A great mix of rice (or substitue quinoa - lots of protein!), broccoli, chicken, carrots, mushrooms -- with a little teriyaki sauce tossed in. YUM. Prices are steep...they do have daily deals that are a bit more reasonably priced. Not a lot of seating, so this is a good place to stop in if you're looking for something fast, portable, and healthy.

I had high hopes for Freshii, considering the concept of creating your own wrap (not to mention the wide array of fresh ingredients to choose from). I'm going to stick to wraps in this review since they are the only item I have ever ordered from Freshii. The one problem I found with Freshii was its portion sizes. Now, I am a petite girl and someone who doesn't eat a lot. The wrap, although delicious, is basically this: Miniature chicken chunks hidden in a bay of lettuce, decorated with a sprinkle of veggies. I honestly can't see a grown man getting even partially full from their wraps (even if they get the double meat). So this to me is a problem, especially considering the $8 price if you get a choice of a single serving of meat. Now I can't comment on any technical errors on the staff's part since my wrap always came out the way it was supposed to (once again, underfilled in my opionion) but the right ingredients were there. Overall, my suggestion to Freshii is this: DROP the price or UP the portion sizes.

Yes, I go there for the healthiest food you can find on the planet and then I buy a cookie the size of my head. It's like dining at Sweet Tomatoes-you have intentions of eating healthily and then you devour mac n' cheese, cookies, muffins, pizza, and frozen yogurt. Oh well, it's worth it. So far, Starbucks was leading my commercially sold best chocolate chip cookie.....until now. Don't mess around with the M&M, oatmeal raisin, or other flavors since they just don't compare. The basic chocolate chip has the perfect amount of chewiness, butter, and most importantly chocolate! As you can see it is the perfect distraction to add to my 3:00 coffee break :) -Chowhound Chick chowhoundchick.blogspot.…

I like the healthy food options. I feel like the food is very healthy and unlike others I have no gripes with the quality of the produce. The rest not so much. First off the restaurant is poorly run. I routinely order my food online and when I go to pick it up the staff acts confused as to the procedures. Specifically when I pay for an online pickup GIVE me my food. The clerks staffing the cash register seem to forget to do that over and over. At other times I have been over or undercharged for food. Or the staff acts rudely. It's rare I don't leave this shop angry or upset with them. Further, the online ordering system is not easy to use. Why make me select which store I want to use every time?

Signature Burrito = 7 mouthfulls of rice and three "pieces" of flavorless chicken. At least it only cost me 8 bucks, right?

I'll be straight with you - stick with the previously tested, menu-advertised combinations and there's a good chance you'll find a tasty, healthy-ish (-er than the usual options) meal. Veer far from those vetted concoctions and it's hit or miss. But if you're going to 'make your own,' definitely take a look at the menu first since chances are you'll save money by modifying an option featured on the menu. I come here often since it's 1) convenient, 2) I've never had a problem with the service or the food, 3) they have a get something free if you come here a lot loyalty program, and MOST IMPORTANTLY 4) they serve as a distributor for the best cookie created from the best bakery on earth, Sugar and Spice Bakery in Evanston. If you're in the mood for a non-cookie snack (but I don't understand this logic), the froyo is good and the hummus options are excellent - particularly the roasted red pepper. Seriously, if you don't buy anything else here just get the cookie.

What happened Freshii? Honey I Shrunk the Salads. Take a few months off and bam - the salads are half the size. It was already expensive enough - $12 for most of the salads I like (1 meat and 1 cheese). Now it's $12 and tiny. Forget it. ETA: Just finished - I am still hungry

  • Jedd J.

Fresh food, but not very interesting. Most of the wraps and burritos fall flat on the taste buds. Boring soups and pastas. Freshii's seem like the ingredients were dumped into the pot moments ago with no time for flavors to develop and blend.

Overpriced and not worth it at all. I made my own salad - turned out to be 15 bucks. I t hought, "this better be a good salad." Avocados were hard and not ripe. "extra blue cheese" was definitely NOT extra. Dressing is crappy. Steak is hard and chewy. Totally wasted my lunch hour here. For what it's worth - the people working there were very nice, and the place looks very clean and bright.

    (1)
  • Lisa M.

The service is good, and the people who work there are friendly, which is why I gave it two stars. That said, it's way too expensive for what you get. I've gotten a rice bown and a burrito from there, and both tasted like straw. Both were loaded with rice, and had very little other ingredients in them. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this place.

I really like the Freshii concept. They have a ton of ingredients to choose from, and I can always find good vegetarian selections. I have been there 5-6 times and I usually order the grilled quinoa wrap with tofu, cilantro (x2), avocado (x2), sunflower seeds, sun dried tomatoes, and cucumber dill dressing. It's quite good, especially when they remember to put all of the ingredients in. My complaint and main reason for the 3-star rating is that they often don't put all of the ingredients on the wrap. I've started asking for the dressing on the side, so that I can tell if they forgot it before I leave the store. I'm also fairly certain that they don't always give me twice as much avocado or cilantro, despite the fact that I pay for it. I'd go back and complain, but I'm usually on a short lunch break and going back over there just isn't feasible. I don't think any of these missteps are done on purpose, they are just the result of problems in the assembly line. If they could just work out the "operational kinks," I think this place will do well. I'm going to wait a while before going back, maybe things will improve. It would also be great if the place was bigger, it gets very crowded in there and the configuration of the space makes things a bit awkward.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! New owners have lifted this Freshii to be the best around! 1. FRESH PRESSED VEG & FRUIT JUICES ARE AMAZING. 2. The Kale salad with spicy lemongrass dressing was fantastic. 3. Their grab and go products and drinks are great. 4. And it's incredibly clean. If you had a bad experience under past management, I think this new team is nailing it. And Tim R., I bet they give you a freeby for trying them again - they seem that committed to raising the bar.

First of all, I ONLY get salads. So if you want to know about the other offerings, this won't help you. The salads are very big, so the most-common complaint (still hungry after lunch) does not apply to them. Someone above mentioned that the salads had gotten smaller, but that is not true - I am eating one right now, and it is the same as it has ever been - big. I like the ability to count the exact number of calories in my meal, down to the last one. This is possible on their website and is a big draw for me. I enjoy being able to create a huge salad with every vegetable under the sun, any protein I want, and a variety of very low-calorie dressings that result in a large, filling lunch that is extremely diet-friendly and healthy. They also have a wide selection of packaged "healthy" snacks - some healthier than others - that can be appealing. Yes, the layout is annoying. And I can see how the rice bowls, soups and wraps might be un-tasty - no actual cooking goes on in this space - it is strictly assembly-line food. Salads are the only thing that really work well this way. And it is expensive. My salads are usually $12 once everything gets added up. Agreed that the cookies are excellent. They can really ruin a perfectly-planned diet lunch.

There's really not much to say about Freshii. Pros: - You can customize your own salad/wrap with the clipboard. - Lots of other snack choices to purchase near the cashier (al la Starbucks) such as chips, protein bars, candy... - Pretty quick Cons: - Veggies are pretty fresh, but I don't know how I got like 2-3 soybean sprouts in my salad when I didn't order it. I also had a few leaves in my spring mix that weren't exactly wilted, but they looked like they had been eaten by a bug before me (which really means its pesticide-free....but still not appealing to see/eat). - Bit on the expensive side. I'd probably come back to try the burritos and other items before I customize my own salad again.

Another work lunch. Never even heard of this place before but it's nice to have some healthy options in the area. Had the lemongrass and quinoa chicken burrito. Was it amazing? Not quite, but with a little help from my red cock buddy sirracha, it went down real nice like. Would like to try a few other options before I gave a final grade, but for now I pleased. Staff was great too.

Good lunch place. I go here when I need something healthy and fast. I'm all about eating my vegetables, but Freshii just tastes TOO healthy. You can customize your order and add chicken, avocados, etc. Sriracha sauce helps the taste too. The smoothies are delicious but on the pricy side.

If I could give negative stars - this would get a -5 stars. Our office orders from here through seamless because they are one of the only places that will deliver food by 11AM (we start early so get delivered food early). Today was my last straw with this place. I normally order a Lifesupport drink, hard boiled eggs, and a Monterey chicken pocket. When the Lifesupport drink comes, it is HOT. Not room temp. Not cold. Legitimately hot. As if the drink was made, then for fun thrown into a microwave (I've also asked multiple times to add extra ice to the drink to make it colder - obviously this was never taken into consideration). The eggs ALWAYS taste old, as if they were boiled 4 days ago and then given to you today. Today however was the icing on the cake - the eggs not only WERE multiple days old, but they were rotten and moldy. I opened the tin off the cup and the smell was so horrible I haven't been able to eat all day. Want something healthy? Go to protein bar. You'll pay 5 bucks more and get ACTUAL non-rotten non-moldy decently made food. Freshii = Oldii Feel free to peep the pic of the eggs - unedited, untouched by lighting or anything. You can see the film formed around the cup from the rotten egg, and the yellow/green coloring of it (and this isn't coming from the reflection of the green cup, the egg is legit green, I would pick it up to show but its putrid smelling and I don't feel like getting more sick than I am)

This location in the heart of the financial district is busy especially at lunchtime. The staff is friendly and tries very hard to be on top of their game; they rush the orders pretty well. Some of my favorite picks: Baja burrito, powerhouse wrap, gluten free bar, mark bar, and RealBeanz iced cappuccino. I like the idea of customized orders, however I have had the occasional experience where someone forgot an ingredient in my order. Recently it happened to me that they forgot avocado in my customized order for the powerhouse wrap, I brought it to their attention and the manager, Josh was very friendly and offered to make me a new wrap :)

Boring and bland. Not glad I stopped in and the fact that the McDonald's nearby was far busier should have tipped me off. Oh well, you do crazy things when you're hungry.

    (1)
  • Amanda C.

Very pricey for basic food. Kind of bland. I ordered a customized meal: brown rice, chicken, corn, black beans, tomato, and pico de gallo.. It has almost no flavor. They didn't have sour cream so I opted for cucumber dill sauce, which at least added some flavor. Maybe I didn't get the right thing, but I paid $10 for almost nothing. Won't be returning.

  • Gamaliel E.

If you don't mind spending a little more for your lunch and like the idea of eating healthier than McDonalds, then Freshii might just be your spot. The first time I came to Freshii I ordered a soup and was terribly disappointed by the meal. It was just broth with a few veggies floating in it. The second time I came, luckily I ordered a spicy noodle dish. It was really good, and my go-to when I don't have the time to leave my building for lunch. They also have some breakfast offerings that are okay. You get to customize your meal, but it can get very expensive...so I would stick to the Freshii menu items, unless you are richii.

Like others have said, I really wanted to like this place...but I didn't. First of all, I was very confused when I came in. I got in the line, then was told to go back to look at the menu so I had to go to the end of the line. Ugh. I had never been here before, so I tried one of the "favorites" which was the Bangkok burrito. I was able to substitute the rice for quinoa and the tortilla for a "green" wrap (collared greens). I did not like it. It was so watery and dripped all down my arm the whole time I ate it. Plus it was very small. I left hungry (and this place is very expensive for lunch in the loop). I will say that what was in the wrap was very good; I just wish there was more of it. I would probably go back and try something else, as I feel like I was rushed and ordered the wrong thing, but I would not recommend substituting for a green wrap for anything. 113/365

I crave Freshii all the time! This is my go to for fast and healthy meals and they have great snack options I can grab. The new management team is super nice and accommodating if I ever need anything. Can't beat how quickly my lunch is prepared and with such fresh ingredients!

I have to update my previous 5-star review. Today I found a LARGE BUG in my salad. It looked kind of like a moth (gray-ish in color) and was alive. I immediately called the store to complain, so they are aware of it, but I also wanted to post. I'm not sure if this bug sighting means that the store is having cleanliness issues or not, but I hope that it will be looked into. It's a shame because I have always had great service there -- but after this, there's just no way I can eat there again.

    (1)
  • Brigid M.

I used to order lunch from here because like the food, but the service really sucked. I mean, how hard is it to put some Sriracha in a cup and then put it in a bag? The girls at the register were always nice, but they were always super frazzled and would then be expected to jump in and prep food at the same time. If you're the Freshii next to CBOT and the LaSalle St offices, you would expect to be busy and that your clientele needs their food fast. Management should have set better expectations and procedures. If I am going to go to a Freshii, I just use Palmer House now.

One of the healthiest options in the Loop, Freshii on Jackson get's five stars for excellent staff and excellent quality of food. I eat here 3-4 times per week either for the oatmeal for breakfast (Which they do an excellent job of navigating the tricky waters between watery gruel and the more likely glue like substance that you often find other places), and their wraps or burritos. FULL STOP Don' think that you are getting a loaded to the gills, filled with sour cream and cheese and greasy meat burrito here. The name says it all: Freshii. Easy on the dairy, easy on the heart. Also easy on the portion size. However, as a big guy, It's still as big a portion size as I need. Other commenters have noted that the make-your-own can get pricey and I agree. Most often, When I change something, I start with a pre-made something and then change 1 or 2 things which is often a much more efficient (read cheaper) way of getting what you want without breaking the bank. Get in there and try something! Some of my personal favorites are the Bangkok Burritto, the Steak Burritto the Chicken Club Wrap, and Oatmeal with blueberries and brown sugar.

I really wanted to like Freshii. It's right next to my work, the ingredients are fresh, there are a lot of different options... Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I'm more than willing to pay if the quality (and quantity...) is there, however in this case it was not. My wrap ended up being $12 and there was barely anything inside of it! Including lettuce... it was basically all wrap and no filling. What a disappointment! I can't think of any situation in the future that would lead me to want to spend $12 on a tortilla... I will give 2 stars because I liked the space, the counter staff was super friendly, I'm a fan of the idea, and what little wrap I did end up receiving was pretty good. Also to be fair, my friend got a bowl and that portion seemed much larger, albeit still $12.

Staff is very friendly and I love that they have healthy options. My asian chopped salad was good- my only complaint is that I think they put the dressing on the salads beforehand so the lettuce wasn 't super crisp. But the $1 off coupon I was handed on the street was great! I'll definitely be back.

3 stars for the life support smoothie. ITS SUPER GOOD! However everytime a different person makes it, it tastes a little different. Lol but always good all the different ways. I've ordered a few food items and the wait is usually long and the food is alright. I'll stick to the smoothies. Service is good! They are very nice to me!
