Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Forgettable... in Every Way Forno is located between in the Hyatt McCormick Place and the actual Convention Center. It a convenient place to grab a meal because the sit-down restaurants are usually mobbed. Offering some salads, grilled sandwiches, and flat bread pizzas, Forno is pretty limited actually in it's offerings. The staff are nice and helpful. I ordered the grilled chicken breast panini. It was actually deli sliced chicken rather than a grilled breast. The chicken was bland and the artichoke spread was non detectable. The bread was a whole wheat focaccia that was fine. The cheese was ok but also very mild tasting. Overall, the sandwich did not taste like much. You could do worse, for sure. But, you can also do a lot better.

Small, walk up place inside the Hyatt for some great gourmet single serving pizzas and some other sandwiches and salads. The thin crust pizza has a very crispy crust and is thin and light. It was a worthy lunch stop while at McCormick Place.

Thought id try this place due to the fact that there is very little vegetarian options ANYWHERE around here (other then salad). Fairly reasonably priced for being located in a Hyatt. I got the grilled veggie panini. Pretty much what it is. Grilled veggies in between grilled bread. Sadly lacking in flavor... very bland. Just because something is vegetarian doesn't mean it can't have taste. Try adding something like a reduced balsamic glaze to add a little zest.

This place is in the Hyatt. Close to McCormick's place. Very cute pizza and salad joint. Ambiance is modern with quirky salt and pepper shakers. I didn't get to try the pizza but they have half and half where you can choose between salad, soup or panini I suggest you go with that because the portions for half and half are still pretty big. I had the chicken, pear, candied walnut and gorgonzola salad and carrot and ginger soup and cannoli. The salad was really good, portion was really big and a little too much cheese for me to finish but all in all good. My friend told me the carrot and ginger soup was amazing but it was ok. He even commented that it wasn't as good as he's tasted before so maybe they change it up sometimes. I'm not a fan of cannoli so I can't be a good judge of that but it wasn't drowned in sweetness as I'd expected it to be. It was under $10 for my half and half not including the cannoli. All in all I think this place is cute, if your at McCormick Place visiting definitely come here rather then getting over prices food at the convention center. The Yelp map makes it look as if it's really far but if you map it on google you will see Hyatt's right next to McCormick's. It's actually connected so you never have to go outside.

Perfect place for a 20min lunch. Self service tables. Soup, salad, and the French dip sandwich recommended.

Had breakfast and dinner here this weekend. Very attentive staff. A friend with me had strict dietary needs and they accommodated with no fuss. Made sure to ask if we needed anything before we left and gave us bottled water and a beverage to go. For a hotel based operation, it was top notch. Especially the staff!

If you are working at McCormick Place, eat at Forno! We grabbed lunch for the staff each day and they did not disappoint! Food for everyone!

Service was awful and slow and deserves 1 star (at Forno and Shor), had beg for soda refills so as not to choke on dinner. Margherita pizza was pretty good, 3 stars- not fresh tomatoes or enough basil, but fairly tasty thin crust if you're stuck at the Hyatt....better idea, order directly to your room and avoid the disappointing wait staff and rude hotel staff all together when possible.

Brick oven pizza at it's finest. This is a great alternative to Connie's. I actually prefer their thin crust pizza to Connie's deep dish, especially if you have to go back to work after lunch as you tend not to feel so sluggish or drowsy afterwards. My favorite was the chicken and prosciutto with a nice helping of sweet basil in the center. They also have a nice assortment of panini's, salads and sandwiches which I have yet to try but my co-workers seemed to enjoy. Plenty of indoor seating or if the weather's nice the Hyatt has some outdoor tables conveniently located just a few steps away. This is always my favorite place to grab a bite when I'm at McCormick.

First, this in the Hyatt at McCormick Place. For a hotel, this is actually quite good....open in the strange hours that one sometimes finds themselves wanting to eat when working 16 hour days at a trade show or conference at McCormick....and surprisingly, they make a pretty decent Salad Nicoise for an Italian joint. Too many cherry tomatoes for my liking but, one can easily pluck those from the leafy dish and roll them down the hallway.
