Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I had this place bookmarked off of another Yelpers review, and I am really happy I checked it out. This is a tiny stand-alone building on Pulaski, but has great signage out front, so you will not miss it. By tiny, I mean if there are 3 people inside at the counter, waiting to order, it is crowded. They have outdoor seating for about 20 - which is great if the weather is nice. Otherwise, this place is strictly take-out. I hit them up around noon on Saturday. There is 1 table with 2 chairs inside, and 2 stools to sit at, at the counter. There is a window to order from and the menu is posted on the wall. I just went with 3 tacos to get a baseline - a carne asada, a chicken, and a chorizo - and an order of guacamole. The space where orders are taken and food is prepared is probably 8 x 4, with 3-4 workers maneuvering around each other. They have this down to a science. Everyone was very friendly. The place quickly got crowded and me standing inside waiting for my food was not an option, so I sat outside. It did take about 15 minutes, and in that time, people that came after me received their food. I wasn't in a hurry, so I just enjoyed the gorgeous weather. When they brought my food, they did apologize for the wait. I couldn't wait to get home and try these. The tacos steamed in the wrapper and I am sure only got better during my 5 minute drive home. They were AMAZING. The chicken was probably my favorite, but all were so good. The guac was average, but at $3.50, a good deal. I will make this a destination spot for take-out authentic Mexican food. They have a pretty decent size menu, and I look forward to trying more options. I am not sure if you can call your order in, but I would give it a try, because they don't have the kitchen space to put together a large order in a short amount of time.

Delicious and inexpensive taco and great customer service depending on which crew is working. I've visited the restaurant and been the butt of the employees jokes. They were speaking in Spanish because they assumed that I wouldn't be able to understand and I chose not to entertain it. I brushed it off and said I'd never return again. But I did visit again because if their late hours and my tacos were extremely greasy.

Very good and very cheap. The only complaint would be that the amount of meat in Taco is too little.

Ate here one night I wanted a burrito AnD didn't feel like driving to zacatacos. Decided to try something closer to home. My girl warned me, that I was going to regret not driving the extra distance. She was right. They piled a lot of rice in the burrito AnD the steak was dried, old AnD reheated. Never again. It was big, but the quality of the food matters more than the quantity to me. I'm good on them. Friendly though AnD tamale was good.

Simply the best place on the south side of Chicago to get your favorite Mexican dishes. I always go for the steak burrito, it's the best in town! No fake food like chipotle or any other "tex mex" chain.

A gem pretty well hidden and forgotten. Excellent for adventurous yelpers, who knows good taste and not judging a book by its cover.

Great!!! It's a tiny place and sometimes the wait can be discouraging but their chicken tacos are soooo good I love them... it's good to call ahead to order that way everything is ready when you get there.

Woooh I swear. Best Mexican food I've had in a long while. Very authentic. Bilingual. Good service. Food always tastes great no matter what I order. Only thing they lack is a bigger space. Best to get take out since they only have a little corner table for 2 & the ordering counter for 3-4 people.

Food is always good! This little shack is the bomb, this place is always pack and this place as limited seating but leaving close is a perk...always to go is good for me.

Best Mexican restaurant I have been to in a while. The food is excellent, the service is great, and the wait isn't that long. The only downside about this place is the size of it but I can't complain. In the summer I like to sit in the tables outside and eat my meal. Haven't had a bad experience with this place yet.

Not a very big place, but don't let looks be deceiving very good authentic Mexican food. I always get the chicken or steak tacos and yet have I ever been the slightest disappointed with the food. I've never dined in, I wouldn't recommend dinning in just because of the lack of space but the good is EXCELLENT!!!!

Hands down, this is the best Mexican taco shack on Pulaski. It is very inexpensive to eat here and the quality of the food is top notch. The employees are very friendly and the portions are huge. They stay open very late and offer much better food than their full service Mexican counterparts. The sopes are to die for but the nachos could use some work. Oh, order a horchata or jamaica to complete your meal!
