Best stuffed pizza in the city. My personal favorite is broccoli and onions. I have coming to this place for years. I think the reason the food is consistently great is because i see the same people working there for years. Service is great, too. If you want stuffed pizza...this is the place. Must try it.

I live in Lincoln Park, just moved here from Boston. After reading some Yelp reviews yesterday I decided to place an order with Edwardo's for delivery. I ordered a medium pie with spinach, canadian bacon, and mushrooms. Also opted for the wheat crust and a side order of mozzarella sticks. Total price with $4 tip was $40, which I thought was a bit much but based on the reviews I felt it was a premium price for a premium product. Delivery time was pretty quick, so no complaints there. However, when the pizza arrived I took a bite and realized that the crust was not fully cooked. In between the crust bottom and toppings was a layer of raw dough. I've cooked pizza's at home and know this can happen if the pizza isn't left in the oven for long enough. It was uneatable so I picked off a few pieces of canadian bacon and mushrooms with a fork and threw the other 95% of the pizza in the trash. Definitely will never order again and would not recommend. Should have known not to stray from Lou Minatti's...

Wasn't impressed, it looks like the owner has decided to let this place go. They got rid of the soda fountain; the crust tastes like "pie", the sauce was dry and flavorless. The salads are basic and dry. I will not come again.

  • Adrienne T.

"Adrienne, you need to write a review for this restaurant. It tastes like cafeteria pizza." - Paul, My roommate. Imagine you were served a pizza-sized cracker loaded with mozzarella cheese and a generic marinara sauce. Simply put, you should avoid their thin-crust pizza. What bothered me most about this said pizza was the price. It was definitely not worth 12 dollars. Ironically, their fries and buffalo chicken strips were delicious.

  • Padma A.

The owner called and apologized and credited the $90+ dollars back on the card. Will give it another shot soon.

I'm not sure what's happened to the sauce. It used to be a great, fresh tasting tomato sauce on the pizza. Today it was too spicy for me. Now, I am someone who is sensitive to spice so others may not call it "hot" or "spicy". But I'm disappointed that the pizza I loved for years is no longer enjoyable :( Also, the lunch size mini stuffed pizza has shrunk in size to the point of comedy. Sad. Don't think I'll order again.

I gave it 3 stars when I would normally give 4+ for Edwardo's. We ordered a medium deep dish with spinach, mushrooms and red onion and the cracker chips (that's supposed to come w the tomato sauce). However, our pie wasn't piping hot like most deep dishes are when the first come out. After eating a couple of slices, we realized that the veggies were raw (except the spinach). The mushrooms were luke warm and not sautéed and when cutting my slice, I was actually chopping the raw mushroom. Same for the onion! The waiter and cashier were extremely nice and even took 50% off because of the undercooked pie. They even reheated it for us, but that didn't do much considering the pie was already assembled. Overall, it wasn't the best experience but the two guys there were really helpful and understanding. Also, we think they changed the sauce and the location up north doesn't give you complimentary chips w/ marinara like Oak Park does.

  • Mickey M.

Ordered their buffalo chicken and vegetarian pizzas. They were a little small and they arrived not hot. We did delivery and it seemed to affect the pizzas quality. Buffalo chicken was just okay. Flavor was there but it tasted mostly like hot sauce and not a homemade buffalo sauce. Crust was almost like eating a cracker. Wasn't bad as it did have decent flavor, just not my ideal pizza crust. Overall this place was okay but with so many options I don't think I will be ordering again.

Awful, awful, awful pizza. For a city that prides itself on pizza this place let me down in a huge way, especially considering that I went here (to Yelp) first and it seemed to be highly reviewed. I actually ended up throwing out an Xtra-Large pizza with only two slices (that I ate). Tasted like cardboard with crap-tastic sauce. Almost redeemed themselves with the buffalo chicken tenders - but paid a ton for the pizza and it sucked horribly. Don't order from them.

  • Nikhil A.

Got two slices to-go one thick crust one thin slice. The thin slice was cold and the equivalent of a piece of plywood, the thick slice was just okay. Giving it three stars because it is close by and I was starving!

  • Rik M.

Try Tex-Mex pizza for the first time. It was very good. Hot wings were awesome. I missed a call from the delivery guy and he came back around. Got great great service!!

I like this place but they should not be associated with restaurant. com since don't accept their certificates for their exact location on Halsted. No confusing their address- the certificate reads their Halsted address. Edwardos please contact Restaurant.com so people don't get ripped off buying these only to have you not accept them. Not cool

  • Casey B.

Cardboard crust, too much cheese, not enough toppings, the large was small and $26. So not worth it.

This place is tiny, much more for carry out than dine in - just a handful of tables. I mention this because our party of 8 converged on them just this past Friday night and they really rose to the occasion. And may I mention, 3 of our party had come from the Cubs game and 1 in particular was loud and obnoxious but the staff was nothing but gracious. That said, our server was sweet and accommodating. So much so, that when they ran out of the beer we were drinking, they sent someone out to buy more for us! Our food was served hot and delicious and without too much of a wait. I would recommend a deep dish spinach and mushroom - amazing. It really was a great dinner and I will definitely go back!

  • Murtaza A.

The food is great, but not when they forget to put your order in and make you wait two hours for it. Been ordering from here regularly but tonight was the last time - second time they got busy and forgot to put the order in with the kitchen. Completely unacceptable.

  • Matt D.

Pizza and Buffalo Chicken sandwiches and Bread sticks! That's what satisfied our Sunday afternoon hunger. We ended up walking and they were spot on with the ETA of the food being ready to go. Nice job!

It took me many years of trying different spots in chicago but this place has become my favorite! Id have to reccomend the traditional deep dish with sausage and green peppers but if youre on the veggie side then the mushroom is just as amazing. This is always my reccomendation when people ask me where to get traditional Chicago style pizza!

  • Andy H.

Just going to keep it simple. Ordered online. My card is charged. Been waiting for hour and half for the pizza. They are now closed. I paid for a pizza and its not being delivered.

  • Angie M.

Definitely the best of the franchised deep dish pizza joints. The reason? Nice, rich, SMOOTH tomato sauce on top. None of those slimy, whole tomatoes seen on top of Lou Malnatis. Just luscious, yummy pizza sauce. Get a deep dish spinach pizza and thank me later. Psst: They're also on grubhub, making it the lazy woman's ideal pizza delivery spot!

    (4)
  • Leah C.

First, can I just say it's really easy to confuse this place with Edwardo's Natural Pizza Restaurant... especially when you're just ordering delivery from GrubHub. With that said, my review is based solely on the timeliness of the delivery and the actual food itself (no service). I ordered a thin crust pizza and chicken wings via GrubHub. My estimated arrival time was 1hr and 10min and the food was delivered right on time. Unfortunately my experience was all down hill from here. The thin crust pepperoni pizza was okay but by no means good. Although the crust was thin, it wasn't crispy at all and the cheese was kind of rubbery like it had been sitting out for a bit... probably for 1hr and 10min... Definitely left an "eh" impression. I'm still on the hunt for Chicago's best thin crust and deep dish pizzas!

  • Isaac S.

Recommended for straight-forward, uncomplicated deep dish pizza by the slice. Was looking for pizza by the slice after a show at Lincoln Hall. Found this place really pleasant, with friendly staff and simple, easy to eat deep dish (tried spinach and also sausage). The crust seemed to flake nicely and the foundation came across solid enough with a tomato sauce that tasted mellow and almost sweet. Might have liked it a bit warmer, but the temperature felt honest as we were there just minutes before closing. Glad to have found it. Will likely be back again.

  • Alex B.

Pretty good food, I'll give them that. I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday... it was a good compromise for a number of reasonably picky tastes in our group. Overall, I was impressed by the quality of food and the in-store service. Whether you want salad, pasta, or pizza, Edwardo's has god options. That's really all there is to it. Nothing too flashy, but good food and good service. I would recommend Edwardo's.

  • Dan S.

Best stuffed pizza in the city. My personal favorite is spinach and onion. I have ordered pizza from here for years and have found the quality/taste to be much better than the local Giordano's. Service is great, too. If you want stuffed pizza...this is the place.

  • Fred E.

understand that it's Labor day. was told that due to busy-ness delivery would be an hour to an hour ten minutes. Hour forty-five minutes, and two follow up phone calls, later a cold pizza shows up. should have just gotten a frozen home-run inn and saved $30

I work in the neighborhood and all tho I do like there lunch specials their delivery time is crazy. Over an hour for delivery and your food is ice cold. Ice cold french fries are not tasty...

  • Erich S.

Edwardo's is yummy. Their deep dish and thin crust pizzas are good and you honestly can't go wrong. I've had pizza, salads, and calzones on my numerous visits and I'd recommend it all. The deep dish does take some time so be prepared for a wait. The restaurant is small and they do have a TV for sports and such. One visit the Simpsons were on and my son started repeating some things he shouldn't have. The staff make no fuss over changing the station. The place is usually pretty empty. Most business is carry out or delivery.

  • Maximilian Z.

I really, really, really wish they'd open a location near me. I love getting stuffed spinach pizza from here. If it's a light traffic day, I get a large one to take home so I can have it again and again. The last time I was in the area I stopped in just after the lunch crowd so the pizza slices weren't immediately available - but the manager let me have 2 for the price of 1 and a free pop for my wait while the next pizza was in the process of cooking. The thin crust pizza here tastes every bit as good as the deep dish - not oozing grease, and the cheese didn't taste of chemicals. They have a full bar and a small dining area, so either get there early, or get friendly with the staff and find out optimum seating times.

  • Cecil S.

The wheat crust is different and unique but I actually grew to love it. Ordered delivery through Grubhub; the pizza arrived fresh and within the hour. I also got the toasted ravioli which was alright but not as good as the pizza. This would be a great place to also dine-in and grab a slice at any time during the day, it has such a classy theme and plenty of booths. Will definitely be dining in soon!

  • Kaitlin M.

I must say they have my favorite thin-wheat crust pizza in all of Chicago. I have had deep cravings for their famous spinach...and that is a craving I have to satisfy! Their ingredients are always fresh and the pizzas are never to greasy. They somehow manage to make a perfectly thin wheat crust that has enough stiffness to it so you can still eat it how your supposed to... WITH YOUR HANDS PEOPLE! This location is pretty simple but your not there to stare at the ambiance.... your there to eat good food!!! I just dare you to walk past the place and not want a piece just from the smell. There delivery is pretty typical for an specialty pizza place in the city and yes its a bit more expensive but that is what you have to pay for great quality! Order one... NOW!

    (4)
  • Courtney W.

I order delivery from here all the time! It never takes too long and the pizza is always exactly how I order it! I haven't even had the deep dish from here yet but I'm sure there will come a time when I'm craving it and it'll show up at my door in under an hour. The ingredients are so fresh and the wheat crust is perfect, I couldn't imagine any better. The prices here are great too, pizza can get expensive but not here. I also enjoy the fact that I don't have to sponge my pizza with a napkin to remove excess grease. No stray grease to speak of here!

We ordered delivery from them on Thanksgiving Day. I specifically asked for no tomato sauce on my pizza as I was allergic. I asked if they could replace it with olive oil and they said they had no olive oil. What Italian restaurant doesn't have olive oil? So they agreed to replace it with white sauce. The delivery guy comes and bangs on my door so hard I thought the cops were raiding my place. Literally banging on my door. He was extremely rude and even my doorman said the same thing. We gave him a good tip regardless. Our order asking for no tomato sauce was all tomato sauce. When I called them about the issue, the man over the phone says "No you said easy sauce." What? How does saying no tomato sauce I'm allergic equal to "easy sauce"? Needless to say we will never order from here again.

Spinach deep dish pizza was pretty good. The crust was kind of bland but really crispy. I like their pizza options but it's not the best in town. Good location but service can be sketchy.

    (3)
  • Emmett F.

The pizza isn't bad (but not great, in my opinion) but the reason for the lower rating is the service. The restaurant seems very poorly run every time I go there, as if there are a lot of employees who don't know what they're doing and get confused easily. I think I'll head elsewhere next time I'm looking for a slice of pizza.

My friends and I had the munchies after an evening of bar hopping, so we decided to have pizzas at Edwardo's. One thing I like about this hole in the wall pizzeria is they are open late. You can order pizzas by the slice which is great. My friends had the sausage, cheese and I ordered the spinach. We inhaled the suckers in 10 minutes and it sure hit the spot.

  • Jen B.

My absolute favorite "deep dish" pizza. We always try the lunch specials which come with MINI pizzas and great salad. I love the place. Great owner and lovely waiters. You can not go wrong with this place. Get plenty of veggies on a mini pizza and a cold beer. Heavens!!!

Last night I was hankerin a pizza and since my husband and I recently moved back up to LP we weren't sure where we could go. I stumbled upon Edwardo's...so disappointing!! We ordered a large (hoping we'd have enough to eat again for lunches) it was medium sized by almost every other restaurants standard. The cheese was super rubbery and the sauce was sweet. I love pizza, and I would take a frozen home run inn pizza over this one...better crust AND better cheese and I wouldn't pay 23 dollars for a medium pizza. We picked up our pizza, grubhub estimated an hour for it to be ready and it was ready in a half hour. Only reason why it got more than 1 star. However, when we went to pick it up...it was cold. We had to heat up our slices for a minute in the microwave to warm up and we live super close.

  • Steve M.

Pizza by the slice at... Edwardo's?! Believe it kids. This is the only one in Chicago that does this. Choose thin crust or stuffed. After work, there's a great "beer and a slice" special too! Super friendly owners. Across the street from work. Cheap. Win.

  • Kyle M.

I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. Real good stuffed pizza. We got mushroom/canadian bacon/pepperoni and it was great. We were the only ones in there on a Friday afternoon and waiter was great...even threw in a few free drinks.

Had a party recently where we wanted pizza to satisfy 20 different palettes, and Edwardo's did a darn good job. I ordered 7 extra large pizzas the day before and asked for delivery at a specific time, and they were punctual almost to the minute. I appreciate their professionalism. Their sausage pizza is amazing, and I don't even like sausage pizza - small nuggets of spicy goodness, and the hubby LOVED the all-meat pizza, which has perfectly cooked bacon wrapped around sausage and other meaty goodness. The spinach pizza is good, although I wish it were the fresh bundles of spinach instead of the tiny slivers worked into the cheese. The pizza sauce (SO critical to a good pizza) is slightly sweet and tangy. I like Edwardo's. It has become a staple in our home, with fresh ingredients, reasonable prices, and fantastic service (I don't know how they managed to get us a medium pizza in 20 minutes).

  • Luke S.

This is my favorite deep dish in the city. I don't know how it took me 5-6 years to start thinking of this place as my go to pizza joint. Their spinach pizza cannot be rivaled! What makes this place even better is that they offer whole wheat crust and it is just as amazing. Many places (sorry Pierro's) also offer wheat crust, but the others always under cook the crust. Edwardo's still has the buttery crispness that you want in your crust! The only downside to this location is that the pizza is often not ready when you go to pick it up. No matter how much extra time I allocate I am always waiting and illegally parked outside. Even still the pizza is the best!

Lemme get some edwardos!!!! damn good food, damn good location, damn good hours, damn good delivery service!!! This is a friendly late night joint. The sports talk is good, besides one of the guys being a lebron fan! got some celebs on the walls too! 5 star for sure!

All of the employees are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is well-kept and clean. Service is timely and fantastic. Food tastes great and always fresh. I'm personally obsessed with the sampler platter. Definitely my favorite pizza :) And don't forget to grab a cookie, they're awesome.

LOVED my experience @ Edwardo's and I have a feeling I'll be going back! Our team at work, which is just 1/2 a block south from Edwardo's, was really in the mood for pizza one afternoon. So, we ordered a take out pie. While I don't like Chicago deep dish (don't start the hateful comments), we got the wheat thin crust. It was crispy & had that "wheat-y" taste I love! The toppings were delicious and the pizza sauce was really, really good. I don't know what they put in it or if they even make it themselves, but it was so good. The 4 of us girls noshed on that large pizza like it may be our last meal. It was NOT a pretty site. No survivors.... My only issue was that it was really hot inside. Not sure if that's normal, but it was kind of uncomfortable. So, if I were to eat-in, that would be an issue. B/c who wants to be sweating balls when they're eating a hot, right-out-of-the-oven pizza???

  • Ron S.

Pizza is great, but delivery and customer service stinks Whenever we get the urge for deep dish, my wife wants Edwardo's. Like every place we order from, they say 45-60 minutes. Most places take about 30-40 minutes but Edwardo's usually takes an hour. Our last order took and hour and 40 minutes and calls to the restaurant yielded a tepid response offering 30% off the next order, saying the delivery person was new. We decided there won't be a next order. There is too much good pizza in Chicago to put up with poor service.

Just walked by to see what was in the neighborhood and had to run into the bathroom. I was denied. Really? You won't let a neighbor use the rest room even when they ask you directly and politely? If you can't be neighborly, then I will never give you my business and neither should other neighbors. Good riddance.

Oh my goodness. I was road-tripping to NYC from California, and I came here with my 2 sisters. Whoever served us (I'm sorry, I don't think we got his name!) was a total sweetheart. We got there right when it was opening, as we were eating Chicago pizza only while in Chicago. We had other pizza the night before, but it was NOT as good as this place. He made our salad big enough for three, made the best pizza ever, and then we checked in on Yelp for the free cookie, and he gave us each one of the gooiest most delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies. Amazing, and hoping to make another trip to Chicago soon mostly just for this pizza!!! So hungry just thinking about it...

  • Rob L.

So one of my goals while living in Chicago was to find the best pizza in the city. I was fortunate enough to try Edwardo's within the first few weeks after my move; every place I've tried since doesn't even come close. The deep dish is classic Chicago pizza -- full of cheese and only the freshest toppings. My personal favorites are the spinach and the pesto, which is great if you're in the mood for something unique. Recently gave the whole wheat thin crust a shot too, and it was fantastic. But what's kept me coming back to Edwardo's other than the delicious food is the wait staff. They are always friendly and always welcoming any time you visit. In fact, the staff here have made it a point to get to know me; it's definitely got the feel of a friendly neighborhood joint. Long story short, go to Edwardo's on Halsted. You won't be disappointed.

It's rare when the staff of a pizza place is nice and accommodating. These guys are top notch. I come in a lot for the whole wheat crust pizza and they are always friendly. The pizza is extremely good too. It's hard to find a pizza that is at least a little bit better for you than normal pizza.

LOVE THIS PLACE! All the servers have great personalities & are very friendly and willing to customize any menu item to your liking. (without the typical "sigh" from servers) The pizza is great! The calzones are GINORMOUS!! Easily eaten half for dinner and half for lunch the next day! :) Two meals in one! They serve pop in a can, kind of weird but kind of cool at the same time. They're usually playing sports on the TV. Only 5-6 tables in the place... I've never seen more than 1 other table filled when I'm in there. :)

Stopped in for cold drinks and hot pizza during the Pride parade. The place is quaint and the waiters fantastically helpful and friendly. My fiance and I tried the thin-crust Edwardo's special and a pitcher of Dr. Pepper. When we noticed that the people who just came in and sat behind his were served first, we were told they actually got our order and there was a mix-up. I'd say so since we had been waiting for our food for 20 mins!! But the waiter was so apologetic, and really nice about it and comp'ed our initial pizza (a medium, which they packed to go) and only charged us for a small pizza that was coming out in a few minutes. The pizza was pretty good, bubbly cheese, and looked nice. It didn't suck but nothing outstanding. Just good pizza. We appreciated the waitstaff more than the pizza; and might stop by if we're in the neighborhood but nothing to go out of the way for.

Easily one of my favorite deep dish pizzas in the city! Spinach, cheese, and the delicious crust are all you need! Everyone is really friendly here and the pizza is ready pretty quickly. I'm anxious to try their whole wheat crust-not sure if it can top the original!

Since I've moved to Chicago, I've had an Italian beef sandwich at about 20 places (seriously), and I've got to say, Edwardo's takes the crown. You might ask, "What sets Edwardo's apart from everyone else?" and I would answer: the bread. I do not prefer the dripping, sloppy jus-drenched offerings most places serve. Instead, I like a nice, hearty, rustic bread capable of retaining the cooking liquid (which in the case of Edwardo's, is wonderfully flavorful and herby) while maintaining structural integrity. Their bread is always fresh, and piled high with secret-recipe beef and mozzarella, delivers a tasty and filling meal. Shoe-string fries on the side are crispy, and the pop, cold. Add to all of this a very warm and friendly staff, and my vote is cast easily to Edwardo's for best Italian beef.

Very delicious deep dish but the real winner here was the friendly waiter and ambiance of the small pizzeria. Also the basil salad with house vin is just divine. Really, really good. Love the area here too. So much within walking distance to do. Great place to crawl.

Came in tonight with a larger group, and the staff was very very accommodating. We had planned to go to Kingston Mines, but they were closed for a private party, so we decided to eat first. Being as some of the people were from out of town, we had Chicago pizza. Edwardo's is easily in my top choices for Chicago pizza, and this location of Edwardo's does not disappoint. It turned out that our waiter was none other than the manager of the place - Faraz - (planning for a slow night in the rain, probably). He pushed tables together for us, and was very courteous during ordering. He was very very attentive, and refilled water and drinks when need be. We had a great time and would definitely come back to this location.

Best pizza in Chicagoland - let's hear it for Edwardos deep dish spinach and cheese. Its winter in Chicago but thank God for Edwardo's for making it TASTY!! Also major props to Lou Malnatti's and in the burbs Old World Pizza.

I've lived at my place on Halsted now for 2 months and I've been here way too many times already. It's sad really. The pizza is good, not great, but it's literally the easiest way to get fed. The dudes working here are pretty cool though. Super friendly and laid back.

My friends and I were in the mood for Pizza and according to the GPS this was the closest thing available. We walked in and the hostess looks at us like we were begging for food. She says "in or out", we are a group of 6 mind you. I said in and she proceeded to give us menus and find us a table. We waited, waited and waited. Nothing. After ~10mins, no one looked our way; not even for drinks! I felt like I had my cloak of invisibility on or something. My friend got up and asked what was going on and all she got was a "I'll be right there". After that, we got the hint and left to Pat's Pizza a couple of blocks. Worst customer service ever.

Do you know what is better than Edwardos pizza? Edwardos pasta! I live in Lincoln park and am usually broke and ALWAYS looking for a good deal for eating. The slices they have are always fresh and tasty and a great price. Three words BARBECUE CHICKEN PIZZA! So one day I decide to stick around and dine in for lunch with my lady friend. The guy behind the counter who is the owner (I think) was soooo friendly. I told him I wanted to try something other than pizza and he whipped me up some AMAZING spicy chicken pasta. Better yet it was on the lunch menu and another great deal. My lady is on a health kick and the guy recommended the stuffed spinach wheat crust and she loved it! Long story longer stop in and of course go for the pizza BUT THEN try the pasta. So fresh and tasty and not expensive.

Went here for lunch and it was really good! Had the lunch special which is available everyday 11-5. I had the mini stuffed with sausage...really tasty. Also had the Caesar salad which was lettuce with bottled dressing but the garlic bread croutons made it worth it. Very friendly service too.

This restaurant is across the street from my office so we frequent it pretty regularly and have sampled most of the menu over the past two years I've worked here. It's really basic, middle of the road "Italian" food that can be heavy on the cream and butter. The lunch specials are cheap, and the little individual pizzas are pretty good. I won a free deep dish pizza in their business card drawing and it was really fantastic (spinach and tomato - lots of spinach... yesssss.). They also have diet cherry coke which makes me happy. The best thing on the menu is the fried zucchini (yum!). Stay away from the grilled chicken which is always grossly dry and reminds me of the turkey from "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." The staff is really great and will do special orders if you ask nicely.

Very small restaurant with VERY BIG taste! They have an excellent (and inexpensive !!!) lunch menu with all types of Italian goodies. I highly recommend the stuffed pizza and the spicy chicken pasta - you cannot go wrong with either.

I really liked the Chicago-styled stuffed pizza. The crust isn't a thick or hard as a traditional chicago-style, but that's what I like about it-- more of a fresh bread crust, than a pie crust. The ingredients are also very fresh, but the cheese is the star of this thing. It's a little more gooey than usual and is obviously plentiful and delicious. I was a little turned off by the sausage, which looked like it was pre-cooked and frozen. I expect any good chicago pizza place to be made in house or cooked at the restaurant. It's definitely a little more pricey, especially when the toppings add up. For example, a small, one-topping stuffed runs about $17.50. Pizza holds up very well for take-out. Each location has plenty of seating. Though I wasn't really wowed by the inside, it's got an old pizza restaurant dine-in feel-- by no means divey. They also ship their pizza frozen-- I may have to send one to my parents some-time.

So, I just ordered from this place for the first time. I got the pesto pizza on wheat thin crust. The crust was not very thin, and just not good. Also, for pizza, one extra topping, a canned soda and bread sticks, it was $28 plus tip. Lastly, and this is just annoying, as soon as I'd signed the receipt, I realized they had not delivered the canned soda. I told the delivery guy as he was waiting for the elevator and he said "I'm just the delivery guy." At the very least, he should have reimbursed me for it. Annoying.

Great pizza, fast delivery, excellent value! These guys were so friendly on the phone. If your looking for a good meal, fast easy and cheap Edwardo's is the way to go.

Haven't tried the pizza yet because it's in the oven-- arrived cold, 15 minutes later than estimate (total time from order placement to delivery: hour and 40 minutes). I get that we're a little far (Lincoln Square) from the location, but if you can't a) make the delivery in a timely manner or b) have the food arrive hot, you shouldn't offer delivery to those areas at all. Also we got an "extra large" which cost in total $34 (pizza + $5 delivery + $4 tip) and not only is it late and cold but is FAR from "extra" large. I actually was so surprised I measured it - "16." I'd say that's more like an average large, but I'd hate to see what "large" is. I noticed on that the website does not specify number of inches for each size, and it's now easy to see why. Icing on the cake-- included two sodas, requested both as Sprites and got two Cokes. If anything else about this experience were better, I wouldn't even mention it, but seriously, not a single thing went RIGHT with this order. Maybe it's better if you dine in or live closer (only tried this place out because of good reviews), but even if they deliver to your area, I wouldn't try it if you're more than a mile away. UPDATE: Ate the pizza (thin crust veggie special)--completely average and almost flavorless. So I wouldn't bother trying this again even if I DID live closer.

Ohhh man, three words: buffalo chicken pizza. It is perfect here! The buffalo sauce is complemented with the sweet roasted red peppers on top. The flavorful monterey jack cheese is complemented by the crunchy celery, and the crust and chicken complete a great pizza!

If you a fellow racer, you know those places that are on your route but you never really quite pay attention to them? Well next time, take a moment--you just might find a hidden gem. But chances are,if you are as competitive as I am, your only focused on your heart rate and the next kilometer. But I digress! So, I was craving something but it was after 10pm and in Chicago that means either pizza or a dog. So I settled for the first option. I logged in to Yelp, went on my kitchen patio, held up Monocle, and surveyed the terrain. When Edwardo popped up, I clicked it because the name was familiar from my runs. Now for the awesomeness. I called to see if they had any slices left. Unfortunately, the answering machine came in. Disheartened, I started the search over. But then my iPhone buzzed. It was Edwardo's calling me back! Who does that? I was immediately hooked. I asked if they had any slices and he told me sure and to come on in. The place is warm, inviting (white linen and candles on every table), quaint and nothing like most places that serve after 10pm. I was immediately greeted and informed of my choices. He even offered to warm it up since he knew I was walking. And to top it off, I got a free cookie for checking in on Yelp. When I got home and tasted my deep dish (still kinda weird to me as a relatively recent transplant), it was everything that expected and more.

Delicious pizza and pasta. Even if i feel full i can't help but go back for more! Everything tastes so good it's hard to choose what to eat. Only one word can express how i feel "YUMMY!"

I came here for the first time today for lunch. The pizza was good, but I was most impressed with the prices. They have great lunch specials! I got a personal pizza with a drink for under $6! I also got a Caesar salad with freshly baked croutons. Yum! And the service was excellent. I will definitely be back.

I love this pizza - actually I would have to say the thin crust is my favorite.... The spinach and broccoli toppings are delicious. And the fact that you can get a whole wheat crust that is mighty tasty - nothing short of perfection. The deep dish pizza is outstanding as well.... as are the spicy chicken pasta and spinach and pesto chicken salads (not usually why you go to place renowned for its pizza....). With so many overpriced pizza joints lacking in quality in the city, it's nice to have a fall-back where you can go whether you're in the suburbs or in the city.

Our Edwardo's delivery tonight: 1. The pesto spagetti was leaking olive oil through the brown bag and into the plastic bag. Needless to say, my girl and I had oil all over ourselves! 2. The pizza came uncut. No, literally, they didn't even cut the f'in pizza!!! 3. We ordered two chocolate cakes. They gave us a chocolate cake and a cheesecake. Grrrrrrr!

They have a really good vegan pasta dish. Unfortunately it's only thing on the menu that's vegan. Oh well at least they have that.

I had my first Chicago-style deep-dish experience at Edwardo's. Got the standard cheese-and pep. The slices are nice and thick and will definitely fill you up. They also give you some sort of bread/cracker appetizer that is dece. They also have Mr. Pibb (score!). The price was a little on the high side for the pizza joints I am used to (~$25 for two people), but that by no means makes for an expensive dinner. Also, it could have just been that I wasn't used to how much dining out costs in Chicago (I am from out-of-town).

I've got to hand it to this Edwardo's, they rock. It seems family run, and the guys who work there are so friendly. They commute an hour or so from the burbs each day, but they genuinely care about their customers and are always happy to see me. They genuinely appreciate your business and they let you know it. And they're not making much off of you, at all. I would get their lunch specials, which was lasagna or pizza, salad, garlic bread, and a drink for about $6. It was huge, and it was greasy, and it was excellent. When I did order for delivery, they were quick and the pizza was hot. There is probably better pizza in Chicago (not by a ton), but this Edwardo's is easy to fall in love with. They're the kind of restaurant you feel good supporting, even if it wrecks your waistline.

In the five days I was in Chicago last week I ate 4 different pizzas. Unfortunately, I have to rank Edwardo's as number 4. The place was cozy with about 8 tables and we sat down right away. The beer is bottled and the service was good. There was a playoff baseball game on the tv in the corner. It really was just the pizza that wasn't as good as Lou Malnati and Pizano on the north side. That's not to say it was bad. In California this would be one of my top 3 pizza places but since it's in Chicago it was kind of just plain and lacking a standout taste overall. Sorry Ed.

Food is great- I bring ALL of my out of town guests there for pizza and of course, they always love it. I try to limit my deep dish pizza eating to only when I have guests otherwise I would be eating it all the time! But to top off the experience, the owner and the staff are SO wonderful :) Very accommodating and friendly.

I have had Edwardo's twice; both after drinking quite a bit. Once I picked it up, because I live right around the corner, and the other time I had it delivered. I don't remember the pizzas too much other than that they were deep dish pepperoni. I know they were both good, but I was seriously hammered both times. It was, all in all, a good experience both times. Even though I don't remember the pies, I do remember this guy that works there. He's awesome. One of the most laid back guys I have ever had the privilege of ordering pizza from. Seriously, I will go to a place again and again for service. When I picked up my pizza, I chatted with the guy and had a few bottles of beer while my pie was cooking. Very chilled out. The pizza I had delivered was supposed to have whole wheat crust, but for some reason it didn't. I called back, and got this: "aw, hey, man...you know...I didn't know about that whole wheat, bud, but I'll hook you up next time, man. 30% off? Naw, man, 50%!" I'm sure he meant it, and even though he won't remember the conversation we had about it, I am sure that he will hook me up. You know, man...it's all good, right?

As a native Chicagoan, I'm very picky when it comes to pizza, as I believe that if you've been given the privilege to sell pizza in this great City, you have to be both consistent and use the freshest ingredients. After having ordered from Eduardo's for the past few years, I have to say that there hasn't been a single occurence where they delivered the pizza late or screwed up the order, and the pizza is amazing every time. As a result, this is our go to place for thin crust pizza. I'd reccommend trying the Canadian Bacon as it's leaner and less greasy than both pepperoni and sausage, and theirs' tastes great!

  • Jennifer R.

I was extremely disappointed in my food this time at Edwardo's. I ordered through grubhub.com (gotta love it on the weekends!) and whether it was grubhub or Edwardo's - they put mushrooms on my pizza when I asked for no mushrooms. It completely changed the taste of the pizza in my eyes. The crust on the thin crust pizza was by far the only good part. There were not nearly enough veggies or sauce and too much cheese for me. In order to the meet the $20.00 minimum order I got "buffalo wings". Buffalo wings they were not. Try crappy chicken wings breaded w/ a if you call it "spicy" coating and fried and served with ranch dressing. Come one - it's bleu cheese with wings and hot sauce -not breading! None the less, after my 55 minutes of waiting - I was surely disappointed.

This review is for the Halsted St. Edwardo's... I have been going to Edwardo's in various locations for over twenty years. I have always loved the pizza. While Edwardo's is as bad for you as any other deep dish pizza, it somehow feels healthier... In any event, the deep dish pizza is great. It is unlike the other Chicago style pizzas that you might try at Giordano's, Ranalli's, Malnati's, or Gino's. However, it provides a great change of pace from those other pizza places (which are also great). The sauce and the ingredients at Edwardo's are first rate. I highly recommend the spinach pizza. Edwardo's crust is great, but I would recommend the regular curst. Avoid the wheat crust. The wheat crust may sound like a good idea, but it is too dry and it is relatively tasteless. The other items we have ordered from Edwardo's have been fine, but the pizza is the star attraction. I would recommend the Halsted St. location for delivery because the folks who run this restaurant are great. The owner/manager has delivered pizza to us on a couple of occasions, and all of their delivery people are really nice and very efficient.

This pizza is the bomb - my favorite deep dish pizza in Chicago. Get it with the whole wheat crust. It's savory and amazing and you can convince yourself it's healthy. This review doesn't take into account the thin crust pizza - which is fine, but nothing to write home about. The whole wheat deep dish gets give stars on its own. I always do delivery - I'm not a huge fan of the atmosphere.

I have to agree their deep dish spinach pizza is FABULOUS!! I have never had a better deep dish pizza! I got it with the whole wheat crust.

This place is pretty good. Sure, the pizza isn't anything that stands out, but it is definitely good eats. The other options aren't bad either, and they run great lunch specials. I work down the street from them, and it's an easy and cheap lunch for us. Whenever we call to place our order, the call us "Buddy" and remember what we usually get, drinks and everything. They are super nice guys. Every time I go in to pick up food, they strike up a casual friendly conversation with me. It's good to have them in the sometimes annoying neighborhood of Lincoln Park.

Usually our office downtown orders Edwardo's pizza and I always have liked it in the past. Therefore my wife and I figured we would drop into the local Edwardo's near our apartment in east LP. We both had Calzones which were delicious. This review is actually to point out the phenomenal service my wife and I received from our server Mike. It was just too ironic and we were both ending our week complaining about how we are so sick of people not caring about their jobs anymore or simply going out of their way to make things difficult. Mike made our night because he was so polite and courteous throughout the meal and was extremely attentive. On top of that, some people were smoking near our table outside and he came over and politely asked them to move away from the entrance minutes before I was ready to approach them. It's nice to know that there are still people out there who care about doing the best they can. We chatted with the manager, Farraz (spelling? sorry!), and let him know how pleased we were. He was extremely friendly as well. For this reason, we will definitely be coming back to dine in as opposed to ordering in. It makes a world of difference. Nice work guys.

Good food, terrible service. I've been to Edwardo's several times, and every time I go the wait staff is incredibly rude. Get delivery or take out from here, but don't bother coming in to the restaurant!

  • J.B. S.

I used to order Edwardo's delivery all the time to my apartment, summer of 2007. The pizza is fresh and tasty, and much less decadent than other pizza places. High-quality ingredients, no over-powering rich cheese or salty crust. I always get thin crust here. Do not eat in, delivery is the way to go.

I really like this place. The toasted ravioli is damn good. The pizza is also pretty good. I recently tried their buffalo chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Overall, I give this place 4-stars because the twin brothers that work there are good guys. Also, I won a free pizza party...so... correction! Automatic 5-stars, say what! Haha, they really know how to grease the wheel. Now I know how those people in the hotels.com commericals feel ;)

My new Edwardo's. I'm right down the street from the Edwardo's on Dearborn, but experienced terrible customer service under the new management -- used to be my favorite. This Edwardo's had two wonderful, friendly people on the phone, went out of the way to deliver to me, offered specials, and behaved how people should when they value business. SUPER!!

    (5)
  • Ilya B.

The pizza is tasty and the Calzones are delicious. But if you like good customer service - don't go here. The people that work here make you think that you work there too and that THEY can walk all over you. People that answer the phone are rude and they don't know how to smile when you walk into the door. Learn some customer service skills Edwardo's!!! Once you get that part right, then maybe I'll give you 5 stars.

    (2)
  • Miranda B.

I love Edwardo's. The service is outstanding. The guys in there are very accomodating and make you feel extremely welcome, whether you're dining in or calling to pick up an order or request delivery. If I'm supporting a place, it's all about the service... and this place, to me, feels like "Cheers" (meaning, they take the time to get to know you). The pizza is also very good. The lunch specials are very reasonable, like $5.95 for a personal size pizza plus drink (non-alcoholic... but you can also purchase a bottle of beer for a few bucks). Their hallmark seems to be the deep dish pies, especially the spinach. I am a fan of it as well as the thin crust. You really can't go wrong here, so definitely give them a try, particularly the Halsted location as they're great. The only downsize is that seating is a bit limited, but that's to be expected with any shop around here.

  • Christy L.

Never too crowded, good prices (especially the 20 lunches under $6!), and fresh ingredients make this place fabulous for a "healthy" version of pizza. Our server was attentive yet forgetful though... forgot the Diet Cokes despite having come chatted with us twice since ordering them, etc... I think his head was just somewhere else b/c he was still very pleasant and such. Maybe he's in love or something, haha. Also, one of the few places where in the deep dish pizza you can actually still taste the crispness of the vegetables you order in the pizza... mmmm. :-)

  • Shannon L.

I just ordered the thin whole wheat crust Homestyle BBQ chicken pizza, and it was AMAZING. It was delivered within a half hour, hot and crust still cripsy. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the small was perfect for my roommate and I. Thanks so much- will be ordering again.

I am a big fan of this place. It is right around the corner from my apartment and the staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel welcome. The food is good and fairly inexpensive too. Not the best pizza in the world but it's still very good and worth the price. It does have a unique taste. The sauce has a spice to it and there is plenty of cheese in the stuffed pizza. Definitely worth a visit.

    (4)
  • Carlo B.

I think I found my new favorite pizza (as of 4/24/11). The crust was very buttery, but not oily/greasy. The cheese and sauce was not overpowering, but it seemed they were light on the spinach (that they are known for). The garlic sticks were meh, but it's hard to find good sticks out there. I can't really rate the place's atmosphere since I got takeout, but the guys there seemed nice enough - it was a slow day.

  • Swati S.

This place is amazing!!! The owner is super friendly =) This Edwardos is unique with a huge variety of food items. The lunch specials are super inexpensive and very tasty. I'm vegetarian and this location has so many tasty options!! They're open late night too so go have a slice after a night out on Lincoln Ave!

    (5)
  • Clayton J.

It's a very convenient place to grab a slice of pizza for an excellent price. I didn't think that the quality of the pizza was very high, but it was good enough to eat. I would imagine that ordering a hot pizza here would be much better than eating an hours old slice, so check it out. It's a little hard to see if you don't look closely, but it sholdn't be too hard to find.

Try Tex-Mex pizza for the first time. It was very good. Hot wings were awesome. I missed a call from the delivery guy and he came back around. Got great great service!!

  • Rob M.

    (1)
  • Pavel U.

Wasn't impressed, it looks like the owner has decided to let this place go. They got rid of the soda fountain; the crust tastes like "pie", the sauce was dry and flavorless. The salads are basic and dry. I will not come again.

    (2)
  • Adrienne T.

"Adrienne, you need to write a review for this restaurant. It tastes like cafeteria pizza." - Paul, My roommate. Imagine you were served a pizza-sized cracker loaded with mozzarella cheese and a generic marinara sauce. Simply put, you should avoid their thin-crust pizza. What bothered me most about this said pizza was the price. It was definitely not worth 12 dollars. Ironically, their fries and buffalo chicken strips were delicious.

    (2)
  • Padma A.

The owner called and apologized and credited the $90+ dollars back on the card. Will give it another shot soon.

    (4)
  • Casey M.

    (2)
  • Sam W.

Best stuffed pizza in the city. My personal favorite is broccoli and onions. I have coming to this place for years. I think the reason the food is consistently great is because i see the same people working there for years. Service is great, too. If you want stuffed pizza...this is the place. Must try it.

  • Ajahnae H.

    (3)

  • Stuart F.

    (1)
  • Nikhil A.

Got two slices to-go one thick crust one thin slice. The thin slice was cold and the equivalent of a piece of plywood, the thick slice was just okay. Giving it three stars because it is close by and I was starving!

I like this place but they should not be associated with restaurant. com since don't accept their certificates for their exact location on Halsted. No confusing their address- the certificate reads their Halsted address. Edwardos please contact Restaurant.com so people don't get ripped off buying these only to have you not accept them. Not cool

Just going to keep it simple. Ordered online. My card is charged. Been waiting for hour and half for the pizza. They are now closed. I paid for a pizza and its not being delivered.

    (2)

Best stuffed pizza in the city. My personal favorite is spinach and onion. I have ordered pizza from here for years and have found the quality/taste to be much better than the local Giordano's. Service is great, too. If you want stuffed pizza...this is the place.

understand that it's Labor day. was told that due to busy-ness delivery would be an hour to an hour ten minutes.

NOW!

Pizza by the slice at... Edwardo's?! Believe it kids. This is the only one in Chicago that does this. Choose thin crust or stuffed. After work, there's a great "beer and a slice" special too! Super friendly owners. Across the street from work. Cheap. Win.

I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. Real good stuffed pizza. We got mushroom/canadian bacon/pepperoni and it was great. We were the only ones in there on a Friday afternoon and waiter was great...even threw in a few free drinks.

All of the employees are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is well-kept and clean. Service is timely and fantastic. Food tastes great and always fresh. I'm personally obsessed with the sampler platter. Definitely my favorite pizza :) And don't forget to grab a cookie, they're awesome.

Annoying.

I came here for the first time today for lunch. The pizza was good, but I was most impressed with the prices. They have great lunch specials! I got a personal pizza with a drink for under $6! I also got a Caesar salad with freshly baked croutons. Yum! And the service was excellent. I will definitely be back.

Grrrrrrr!

I have to agree their deep dish spinach pizza is FABULOUS!! I have never had a better deep dish pizza! I got it with the whole wheat crust.

SUPER!!

Also, one of the few places where in the deep dish pizza you can actually still taste the crispness of the vegetables you order in the pizza... mmmm. :-)

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
