IT IS THE KIND OF PLACE THAT I COULD ALMOST AFFORD TO EAT AT EVERY DAY. GUS IS GREAT, I'm not sure if he is an owner or just a cook. Either way, he is a very nice and hardworking guy, who appreciates his customers. I'VE GIVEN THEM A LOT OF BUSINESS because THEIR PORTIONS ARE BIG AND THEIR PRICES ARE REALLY GOOD, your order is ready quickly, and I like their staff. I've had just about everything on the menu and my ratings for the food vary. Some items, like their grilled chicken and chicken kabobs, are VERY BIG AND VERY GOOD. I also like their side of rice pilaf. Their fish and chips however, are just frozen fish fillets.Their breakfast prices can't be beat. They obviously focus on portions and prices, so I'm rating them based on that. It's basically a fast food restaurant that's a few steps above your Wendy's and more than a few steps above McDonald's.

My stomach is still smiling from my lunch. The chicken is marinaded in this amazing wonderfulness- and no matter how you order it- it comes juicy and full of flavor. I went with the chicken parm sandwich, and I could not eat it quick enough. No joke. The bread was fresh and soft and I already told you about the chicken...heaven! The fries were fresh and the staff was friendly. It is a family owned restaurant- and you can tell. It is a clean environment. It's only a little ways a way from my office- and I WILL be returning!

I work not far from Eden's, so I came here for the first time with a couple people who already went here for lunch before. The place is almost across the street from the Sauganash area Whole Foods on Cicero. Based on the seemingly endless stream of people coming, looks like a great lunch spot. In the 30 minutes we were there, I saw maybe 15-20 school kids, suit & tie types, and even construction workers with orange vests stop in for food. Eden's has a really small eat-in area consisting of 4 booths and 3 tables in the middle, but it also has an outdoor seating area for nice days. The interior is very clean, the menu board looks new, well-structured and easy to follow. Eden's offers breakfast, lunch and dinner selections. While I chose the half-pound cheeseburger, both my colleagues chose the gyros. From the look of their platters, I should have done the same. My burger was awesome too, don't get me wrong. Even the edges of the patty were seared crisp to my liking. The burger was larger than the bun, and it was loaded with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. No disappointment at all, but the gyros just looked so hot and fresh that I should have ordered it instead. The food came quickly too. Seemed the gyros only took 2-3 minutes from the time we ordered. My burger took a little longer but very reasonable wait time. They are well-staffed and the orders just keep coming. I will definitely make this a regular lunch place in lieu of Backyard Grill on Devon, since service here is so much better and it's not as expensive.

Mom and I stopped here on a shopping outing today. She had one of the lunch specials ... a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a tuna salad sandwich. Both were pretty good. I had a cheeseburger, fries and a cup of chili. The burger and fries were decent, though I wasn't expecting to get mayo on my burger. The chili, however, was most decidedly from a #10 can. I tossed most of it away. They seem to do a good business there. Lots of people in and out. The prices are decent for what you get. I might stop by some time in the future, but I don't see it as a regular stop.

Ok, this place, awesome. I am going to overlook the fact that they serve everything on plastic... yes plastic. Yet I'm still giving them 5 stars. They gotta be doing something right, don't you think??? My mom and I came in for some breakfast. Skirt steak and 3 eggs, hash brown and toast for $11.25. Ordered one of those, coffee and an orange juice. OJ is bottled. My mom loved the coffee (she's super picky). $16 for both of us, not bad. Now on to the food. So glad I ordered one for us to split because there is NO WAY either of us could have eaten that whole plate. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. Potatoes were nicely cooked and eggs over easy just like we like them. I honestly didn't expect such great food. The rest of the menu is very reasonably priced and I look forward to heading back to try something else. Or for another steak and eggs breakfast!!!!

I'm pretty sure I have found my new favorite 'fast food' place that's not a franchise. The menu here is HUGE!! The first time I went I had the gyros plate... loved it! The second time, I had the chicken parmesan sandwich... Yum! Even the fries are great! Edens is small with only a few tables, but it's so clean and neat that you can be very comfortable eating there. I think their only downfall for me is that they are closed on Sundays... bummer.

Somebody said East of Edens down the road is better. I have to disagree. This place is small, but great. The food has always been great. I really love their breakfast. Their ham (off the bone) and cheese sandwiches are my favorite. And the people that work here are very friendly. Very affordable too.
(5)Danny M.
Great food, great staff and Gus the owner really takes care of you! Breakfast is the bomb with ham off the bone and huge portions!

Absolutely love this place. Fresh food, great service, great location! All the workers are on their game every visit, and my burgers and fries have always been perfect. This place has the freshest soups in Chicago. You will not be disappointed. Keep it up!

Sometimes when I finish my grocery shopping at WFM, I look over and wonder about Eden's. The place sits there, lonely like, on most days. Down the street is another gyros joint that usually has cars coming and going. But Eden's, just sits there, yearning for attention. On Christmas Eve last year, I decided to grab a quick meal before heading home. Tons of options in a typical Char restaurant like burgers, dogs, etc Though I opted for a gyros sandwich. I'd had a pretty decent one in Milwaukee recently and wanted something more "Greek" and Chicago style. The gyros were alright as were the french fries and fried mushrooms. But these days with many more "fast food" spots offering hand-cut fries, one has to wonder why they don't ditch the frozen kind for the normal kind? According to a hand written sign, their rice pudding was "homemade." One has to wonder.. Food was alright, but all stuff I could probably muster from frozen products purchased at a grocery store. When you're too lazy to cook, it's an alright stop. A single would spend roughly ten dollars or more depending.

This place is amazing, just had fried fish sandwich it was delicious. Service is great here and friendly people, parking, everything is fresh. Plus they have amazing breakfast wow!!!

The only thing I look forward to when the season changes is the daily soup selection at Eden's. Everything on the menu is delicious from a hangover cure breakfast to just about the best fries in the city. Large portions and extremely friendly staff, don't pass this place up!

Found this place by happenstance, as my wife and I had some time to spare before a wedding at Queen of All Saints. A few quick thoughts: Free parking lot in the rear is a plus. Chicago style hot dog did not disappoint, and it was nice to have a classic since we now reside in the Raleigh area. Fries were crisp. Wife's boneless rib sandwich seemed to be agreeable to her. Other menu options that appealed to me would have been the quarter and half chicken dinners, as well as the gyros. Prices reasonable. Staff friendly. Reminiscent of my undergrad days at DD Dawgs in Evanston.

It's a nice, clean, family owned place. We wanted to forgo the typical Burger King and Wendy's but needed fast food because my husband had to get to the next call, so we stumbled upon this lovely place. Food was made to ordered. I ordered the chicken gyros combo, while my husband ordered the gyros combo. They were great! The Greek mom was very nice and personable, and she was also flirting with the police officers! The atmosphere was very inviting. I noticed there are several places contained "Eden" in their names, but this one is diagonally across the Whole Food Market. There seems to be parking on most of restaurants in the Edgebrook neighborhood, so you won't need to struggle finding a spot.

I have to say their food at Eden's is delicious. We had the chicken breast plate that was outstanding. The staff is amazing and so nice. Their fries are crisp and yummy. No greasy fries here. Clean oil definitely. If you want delicious food and great people to talk to go there. Next time I'm getting their soup with my meal. It smelled stupendous. I can't wait to go back.

I work like a block away from this fabulous greasy spoon, so its safe to say that I'm well aquainted with the staff and the food. I feel like I have a special relationship with their cheese fries, but I dont wanna make the burgers jealous. So shush! They also make AWESOME breakfast! Their sausage links are huge and juicy and for like $5 you get a delicious medley of eggs, sausage (or bacon), toast and hashbrowns. Now thats a deal! They have a pretty extensive menu aside from the traditional hot dogs and burgers. Their marinated chicken breast is the JAM, and their gyros and italian beef are not far behind. They also have cold sandwiches and salads, but if you're eating at a greasy spoon I don't think you are here for a salad. The staff is always friendly. Its nice to go to a place where they always remember your name and in my case, my order! Edens is a great little place for breakfast, lunch or dinner; so if you are ever in the neighborhood be sure to check it out.

I have been going here for quite sometime since I live close by. The food is good and the service pretty quick.

I love this place, especially their breakfast! We ordered potatoes, eggs, pancakes, and skirt steaks. And everything was delicious and I mean everything! It's very hard to find a breakfast place that makes the skirt steak right but this place got the taste and texture right.
(5)Annette U.
I got a Groupon for this place. We got the gyros and chicken gyros-very delicious and huge portions. Also got the pizza puff-probably wouldn't pay full price for that again, but all the food was good.
(4)Kristin L.
I go here for one thing, mainly, and that is their chicken gyros!!! YUM! Something about lamb gyros bothers me mentally, not sure what. I felt I struck gold when I found their chicken gyros! Their fries are great, also! I've heard they do a decent breakfast, one friend of mine likes the strawberry pancakes in particular. They remodeled the place in 08, and it's much cleaner looking and modern. Be careful, it gets packed around lunch hour and hard to find a seat.. Usually after 1pm is when the crowd thins out... Go for the chicken gyros, you'll love it

East of Edens is much better and right down the road. If you are in the area, go to east of Edens. It is a step up from Eden's.
(3)Jean Z.
Exactly what I expected...Greeeeeeeeasy gyros. Good Fries. Couple tables outside(need umbrellas, guys!) and they take plastic for payment.
(4)Greg S.
i'm a big fan. nice staff, good food, chicken sandwich solid, gyros better than east of edens fo shizz, and great shakes. if they opened for sundays i'd give them 5 stars.
(4)Matt B.
Food is ok here may return again not sure.

The food varies in quality from acceptable to great. Their onliene menu is wildly outdated on its prices, which severely hampered my most recent visit. $9 for three pieces of fish for a fish n chips order is bullocks.
(2)Edward C.
Friendly, great service, great food and fast! Gyro plate and burgers are the main items I get along with the homemade baklava. This location has better fries and food than the other ones.
(5)Ryan H.
Yummy greasy spoon. Doesn't try to be more than it is. Staff is friendly and they'll make whatever you want. The breakfast sandwiches are loaded and delicious.
(4)Gerry T.
The best skirt steak sandwich I've ever had in my entire life, thick, juicy, flavorful, very much worth the $11.95 per sandwich. I've had this a couple of times for lunch and ended up not having dinner due to the sandwich being so big.

Everything about Edens screams awesome. The food, the malts, everything is amazing food. The owner is a great guy, and I assume it's his mother, is a riot with her cane uses. I will ALWAYS go to Edens if I'm in the area. THis is a must stop!
(5)David K.
I am a disappointed regular and will never go back again. I saw old man owner at outside rear door on a smoking break when I was parking my car. Once inside, I was standing at the counter ordering my food. The woman owner cashier turned around and asked the newly entered old man owner to make my milk shake. The disgusting old man didn't even wash his hands after coming in from his smoke break. Food was good and service was good. And yet, what I experienced is unforgivable and reflects badly on the restaurant. Only they know what other bad habits this guy has.

I worked in the area for about a year and went here a couple times a week for lunch. It's a really solid lunch spot. Fast, affordable, tasty. You can't go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu, but I usually got the grilled chicken sandwich on a pita with hot peppers. Seriously amazing stuff. It can get crowded around lunch time but if you come around 1:30 or so you should be able to get a table.
