Great food, huge portions for the price. It's byob and there's no fee for bottle opening. Just bring your own bottle opener! I love that it's mom and pop and the vibe is super chill. I'll be coming back for sure!

Went here on a very cold Wednesday night and the place was empty. The food was decent but I had the vegetable/tofu rice dish and was disappointed in the freshness (veggies weren't great and the tofu was sort of soggy). Brown rice was a plus.

I can't pretend to know authentic thai food, but as for Americanized thai food, dena does it well. Moved to the area in January and have had take out three times and dined in once. Prices are what you'd expect, $10-12 per entree. Pad kee Mao is spicy and delicious. Also have had the tom yum soup which is sour and spicy. Needless to say, will continue to visit while we're in the neighborhood!

I really like this new place! It's so much more welcoming looking than the previous restaurant at this location, and the people working there are very friendly. The guy who took my takeout order brought me a glass of water while I was waiting. The peanut sauce on the Rama Garden is thick and has a nice bit of spice to it. Each time I've ordered so far the food was ready quickly and they have given me a free egg roll. I've only gotten takeout, but there is a sign that it is BYOB.

I live 5 minutes walk away from this place. Ordered from them tonight more than an hour ago, still haven't got any food delivered. Called the restaurant, and they said the delivery guy left a long time ago with a car! Don't know what happened. But I sure want my 20% tip that I pre-paid back! Updates: Got my food, all cold and got rain on. No way to eat it. Called in to complain, the manager had a huge attitude. He laid out a whole bunch of excuses that simply sounded like they didn't wanna take any blame. Then he said according to their record, I'm a new costumer (which is not true at all! I've been getting food from them since they opened up!). Even if I were a new costumer, does that mean you don't need to appreciate my business? It took your delivery guy one hour and 15 mins to deliver to a 1-minute drive away place, maybe it's not me being picky, it's your service that sucks. So disappointed! Loved this place and their food so much. Even recommended many friends that live in Logan to go there. But based on my terrible experience tonight, I'm not going back there.

Dena Kitchen might be a solid five stars in my book, but I need one more experience to make that call. For a number of weeks, I ordered the basil chicken every Sunday evening. They prepare it just the way I like it - minced chicken, tons of flavor. Occasionally I would order a noodle dish too, and save the basil chicken for dinner the next night. The Pad Thai is amazing - pad see ewe is just ok. The one issue I have is that last time I ordered, they did not prepare the basil chicken the same way. It was made with sliced chicken instead of minced chicken. The sliced chicken just does not absorb the flavor of the sauce the same was minced chicken does. I am hoping that this was a one time thing, or that they will at least still prepare it with minced chicken upon request. If they do, I will update this review to 5 stars. The staff here is also very friendly!

Boo! Portions are way too small, not very tasty since it's totally Americanized and pricey. It would have been one star but the owners sister who was temporarily helping it was very nice.

Came across this place a few days ago when I was craving for some Thai food. I ordered the pad see eww with tofu and shrimp fried rice. The pad see eww was good, although it could have used a tiny bit more seasoning; the noodles were cooked perfectly though. The shrimp fried rice was good too. The shrimps were not stringy like most places serve em, but they were yummy! The dish came with sliced cucumbers and sliced tomatoes - very refreshing! I will have to come back to try the tom yum soup because that's one of my favorite Thai dishes. The reason I gave this place 3 stars is because the food was good, but it was lacking just a bit more flavor. I would definitely come back though, because you can tell the owners are very hard workers, and it's good to support local businesses! So, if you're ever in the neighborhood come in and try some Thai food!

Second time ordering and I found my go to meal. Extra spicy pad Thai, less noodles. People are right that they jam it with tons of noodles but asking for less is the trick. Logan Square, this is it for for pad Thai needs.

I have not had one bad experience at Dena's Kitchen. I love how authentic this place is. I've been going there once every couple weeks at least and tried almost everything on their menu. My favorites: beef noodle soup (super flavorful and reminds me of home), duck curry (hands down the best Thai duck curry in Chicago), and baby eggrolls. Their curries are great and my toddlers can down like 3 orders of baby eggrolls. One of my favorite things about this place is that their ingredients are quality and fresh. They use fresh noodles instead of dry noodles and I can taste the difference. I recommend that when you are ordering any noodle dishes, eat it right away! Don't wait because they will stick. And then there's those lovely snacks to go.... I am addicted to their sweet chips---both the taro and plantain. SO good esp when they are freshly made. I've been back in Chicago for 8+ years and haven't found a Thai place that I absolutely adore until Dena's. Lucky me because they are just a few blocks from where I live!

The food is delicious and the flavors are well-balanced. The Pad Woon Sen is extremely nice, and the papaya salad is quite tasty too. I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants, and this place easily ranks as one of my top three favorites. Dena Kitchen left a great first impression on me, and I will definitely be back for more.

This could be my new favorite thai takeout in Logan Sq. A sign that they're legit? Real chinese broccoli in their pad se ew! Skip the veggie egg rolls. They're overly brown yet soggy. They also included free crab rangoon my first time ordering, which was awesome and tasted awesome. Excited to try their other dishes soon.

  • Josy D.

i've ordered take out at Dena's many times and it is consistently good. My usual go to is the pad see ew tofu, they make that perfectly. The dish is always flavorful and portion sufficient. I haven't eaten at the restaurant but it looks clean and the people who work there are always polite.

Really glad to have this place in my neighborhood. People, please patronize it, so it can stick around. You'll be doing yourself a favor. Love the pad woon sen and all of the curries I've tried so far. Also, very nice people.

  • Ada L.

Love this place! Panang curry, pad kee mou, and Tom yum soup soooo good oh and the mini egg rolls too are yummy...I go there at least 2-3 times a month! One of my favorite Thai places! Oh and it's a BYOB! Yum

I don't like writing yelp reviews, but Dena Kitchen requires me to do so. This place is legit, in a sea of mediocre Thai places, it really does the trick. If you like thai food, order it spicy. If you don't like spicy, I am sorry. But do it anyways. You just have to. Please eat here. Great people, clean, fast, fresh food- all you need. Green curry forever.

After reading the Yelp reviews I thought it was safe to try Dena Kitchen. Finally a new Thai place comes to the hood. What a mistake I made ... it's almost like people are unfamiliar with what good Thai food should taste like! We placed an order for delivery. Pad Thai with tofu, cashew chicken and vegetable egg rolls. Pretty basic order. I opened the plastic container to find the noodles in a large coagulated block. The appearance of the food was very unappetizing to say the least. I thought I should at least give it a taste test ... what a mistake! There were no vegetables - usually there are carrots, maybe broccoli or scallions. Only remote vegetable I could identify was a few bean sprouts. There weren't even any chopped peanuts. It was a flavorless mess of noodles. In the trash it went. I was told that the Cashew Chicken was completely bland and had more vegetables than my Pad Thai. Imagine biting into a deflated egg roll ... well that's what we got. There was no crunch factor. They were soggy, over cooked probably just defrosted from the freezer. As a bonus for an oder over $20 we were given crab rangoon ... I didn't ever venture to go there! What a waste of money and waste of food! It's so sad that a chicken actually had to die for this dish! It's such a shame ... really wanted to have a new regular place for carry out. Try Jai-Yen if you want good Asian food at reasonable prices that actually have a realistic flavor profile.

Excellent, flavorful Thai with some go the friendliest staff in town. My order (via yelp) was delayed, so by the time I arrived to pick up my food, they had only just received my order. Even though it was no problem, they apologized profusely, brought me water while I waited, and threw in a free order of egg rolls--AND they got it ready (2 entrees am fan appetizer) in under 10 minutes! A+, friends.

Went here last night for the first time. I'm happy to say the food was delicious! I especially loved my chicken masaman curry- it was a warm, delicious bowl of happiness on a chilly night. The restaurant is simple, but cute and very clean. The prices are low and the server was so kind and helpful, despite her limited English. I will definitely be back, but I'm also excited to try delivery as well! Also, love that this place is byob!

    1. Good prices. 2. Fast delivery. 3 tasty food. Food me enough to become regular. So far the best Thai delivery in Belmont and Pulaski area.

  • Jonathan W.

Straight-down-the-middle menu with all of the standard items, only a handful of more interesting selections. I ordered delivery and I had the basil chicken and the glass noodles. Both items were high quality and fresh. I would say that Dena is pretty good and relatively authentic compared to other Chicago Thai restaurants but not the best you will ever have, however, 90% of most Thai places in Chicago generally totally suck and these guys do not.

  • Alex E.

OMG! So deelish. It didn't blow my pants off, but man was it tasty. The people that work there are crazy nice. My recommendation: ignore the fact that you might be the only people there and take your time and order a full course meal. Specifically, the crab Rangoon filling is deelish and fresh (like absolutely everything here), with a nice, substantial, satisfying crunch to it. Hell even the sweet sour dipping sauce is not bad at all. But the northern sausage appetizer...wow, totally worth the price. Be adventurous and take a small bite of the ginger and onion, or a teeny one of the uber spicy chiles after every sausage bite. What a nice fresh combination of flavors. Next get a panang curry to split with someone else, cause why not? Add some sticky rice on the side as well. And finish your meal with a Thai custard. Yum! Oh, and the place is BYOB if that's your thing.

Great food and the service is really nice! I've gotten free appetizers from them and they are always happy to see me. The lighting is a bit too bright for my tastes but it's always a good time in there.

I've ordered food from this place several times and it never lets us down. It's hard to find a place that makes good pad thai. The crab rangoon is pretty good too. The food is always nice and hot when its delivered got to appreciate that. They have made me a regular customer. Don't hesitate to give them a try.

These folks just recently opened, and I'm glad they did. There's a lack of good places to eat in West Logan, and not only is their food delicious but the whole staff is very friendly and go out of their way to provide great service. I love Thai food and this place is solid.

Great spot for Thai Food. Very friendly and it's byob. I had the green curry and Thai sausage. Both were very delicious! Will be making this my go to spot for Thai in Logan Square.

I came with two other people, we all had curries and they were delicious, but the best one was the panang curry, its the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The staff was also very nice :)

  • Lisa S.

As a vegetarian, I would say this is the best Thai restaurant in Logan Square. They don't have tofu satay on the menu but they made it for us when we ordered last week. Their soups had fresh ingredients and they weren't afraid to put a little heat in it. It was not the hottest I have had but still some heat. My meat eating friends said that the crab rangoon had no hint of crab -- not even the fake pink crab stuff. They had veg egg rolls which were adequate but we did not get any spicy hot mustard or hot sauce which was needed. While we waited to pick up our take out order, they gave us a glass of water which is not something I have experienced often. Overall, I felt like this place is a solid take out for thai.

  • Frankie T.

This place is right across the street from me and it's amazing. Not only is the food great, it's at a good price, and they are SO NICE here. Both times I've ordered take out from here they've given me free stuff with my order because of some special they have going that I didn't even know about.

  • J P.

I live around the corner from this new found gem. I am really picky about Thai food; I always trek from my home in Logan Square to Lincoln Square to Opart Thai. Dena Kitchen really cleaned up this location, which was formerly a badly lit, run down Vietnamese restaurant. There are new tables and chairs and a much needed new coat of paint. Generally I judge Thai food based on the curry. Here, I had the yellow curry and it was delicious with a nice kick. It was every bit as good as Opart. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my mom ordered a chicken soap and, while delicious, had a shrimp floating on the top of it - not a problem for her, but for someone who doesn't eat shrimp it is.

Good food, good service. I live around the corner so this is my go to spot for Asian food. It's BYOB. They usually give some free egg rolls or crab rangoons on take out orders, which is always a plus.

Affordable, fast, nice people, great taste. Have enjoyed everything I've eaten so far, curries, noodles, soup, mini egg rolls, crab rangoon. We need a place like this in the neighborhood. When you want a to-go order or delivery, it's a great alternative to the chinese take-out places that are often greasy and leave you regretting what you ate. Been 3 times so far in the last couple of months. BYOB

  • James C.

Decent. Nothing that blew me away. Fairly priced for what you get. Attentive service. Best Thai food in Logan Square. Then again, that's a low-bar. Advice to restaurant owner: Change the sound track. While your millennial staff may appreciate a lyric like "I don't give a f&*&" from Big Sean, it makes for an unpleasant eating experience for your older clientele. All the best.

  • Laura M.

Unfortunately my regular local Thai joint closed it's doors recently. When I had a craving I needed to look a little further away. This place was worth the extra distance. Their Larb Gai, my favorite Thai dish, was delicious as were their steamed dumplings. The dumplings came six in an order which was a nice surprise, but then again I'm not sure what is standard. Would recommend if you want Thai in the Logan Square/Hermosa area. Will be my new go-to for sure.

  • Brian K.

We ate here last night and the staff was really pleasant and friendly. The food was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, both me and my girlfriend are sick today and this was the only thing we both ate all of yesterday. Either it is a coincidence or we got some contaminated food. I did not want to write a review like this - but I also don't want anyone else to spend their work day running in and out of the bathroom like I have.

  • Lizzie E.

Awesome place! The employees are SO nice. They were incredibly busy last week and were so apologetic that they would need to take awhile on my take out order. I couldn't say no because I've been there so many times and they've always been wonderful. BYOB is always a plus. Great food, better service. Definitely going to be my round the corner Thai place.
