Cozy Corner is a great neighborhood restaurant. My family and I go there for breakfast on the weekends. The staff are all very good, good attitudes, quick and attentive. The bathrooms are clean and updated, a big plus. I sat at the counter today and just watched how the staff works so well together to get the food out to the tables. I was impressed at how they do it. The cooks were working non-stop, the servers were helping each other get orders to tables and customers just kept coming and coming. They didn't miss a beat. This is a great space, lots of natural light-big windows. You will want to go back.

This is really close to my friend's house, so she took us here for breakfast on our first morning in Chicago. It's nothing fancy, so if you're looking for fancy breakfast/brunch, this isn't it. Personally, I prefer places like this. Good, solid, American breakfast/diner food. Service wasn't great, we had to ask for water refills more than once, and it took awhile for someone to take our order. I had pancakes and bacon. To my surprise they cooked the bacon exactly how I asked for it. Really crispy, almost burnt, (less grease that way!) I liked my pancakes, and everyone else seemed to like their food too. Prices were really reasonable! If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd be back:)

Great omelets! ... and very spacious!

This..place..never..fails!!! Every time I come here the food is consistently amazing! It's affordable and it can get a little crowded but I've never experienced anything longer than a 15 minute wait. Parking can be a bit tight but again, I've never had to much of a problem. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that its not open 24 hours but then again I guess I'm just being greedy. ;-)

This place was awesome! At noon on a Saturday, the lobby was packed, but tables turned quickly. My boyfriend and I had to stand around for about 15 minutes to wait for a table, but we got to listen to the hostess, Nery, the whole time. Imagine a plump, old, little Mexican lady shouting the following behind the counter: "Whoever brings me a beer gets seated next!" "Step up, honey, don't be afraid of me! Hurry up! Before I change my mind!" "WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE GONNA DO WHEN I DIE?" She was sassy and bossy and hilarious. I would have given this place 5 stars on that alone. BUT! This is a restaurant review, so on to the food and whatnot: We got breakfast food (an omelette and skillet, bacon, toast, pancakes, coffee...) and it was all surprisingly cheap. The portions were huge, too. The food was your generic diner fare. We sat at the counter (less of a wait to sit there) where Nery poured the coffee and chatted with us. We watched our food being cooked on the fryer behind the counter - fascinating and gross, but sooo delicious. It seemed like there were a fair amount of regulars there as well. So, good sign! Bonus: they make their own salsa! I am not a salsa OR a spicy person, but I thought it was great!

Really this place was just ok but, it's important for me to mention that It is a step above IHOP. The service was great but, the food was pretty bland. I ordered the eggs and ham combo with french toast and I ate it but I knew it could be better. The atmosphere was loud and chaotic, not something I wanted to experience when sitting down for a nice brunch.
(2)Brian C.
I've been here a few times for weekend breakfast. The skinny: lots of regulars, fills up fast, smaller interior (say versus the 'Nug across the way,) good, good food, good coffee, CLEAN, middle-to-middle-higher on prices (but you're getting your money's worth.) My advice would be get there early. The crowds are the only thing that might deter me from going; overall a solid 4 stars.

My Friends love to meet here on sundays,Great for groups

So, I love pancakes. Especially on Sunday mornings. I was very excited to have a chance to check out Cozy Corner. A friend told me about this place so i expected it to be good. What I did not expect was just how great the service was. The staff really seemed like they enjoyed their job. They were very efficient while managing to joke around and have a good time. They were allowed to sprinkle in their own personalities while doing their job. The food was really good and the price was right but what I will continue to rave about is the service. Awesome!!
(4)Mark G.
i'm definitely with Kori on this one. this place simply does not every disappoint. i originall used to go to the CC on milwaukee before I discovred this one. this location is newer, cleaner, and bigger. the parking CAN be a problem but you should be able to find a place on the street not too far away. i have not ordered everything on the menu, but everything i that i have ordered has been very high quality breakfast food. i feel safe in assuming the entire menu is delicious. i make sure to mention the staff in all my reviews, and the staff at this CC has always been great.
(5)Greg C.
This is an awesome place for breakfast. I'm a regular here and have tried just about everything on their menu, I've also brought friends here for breakfast who request that we go there whenever they are in town. The prices are good, better if you get there M-F before 9am ($3.49 for some of their breakfasts) and they have all day breakfast and lunch specials. The staff is great, the food is delicious, and it's always inviting. Parking in their main lot can be hit or miss, but they opened a new lot just East of them. It also can get a bit crowded on the weekends, but the wait is never too long. I highly recommend going here as I'm sure it'll become one of your favorite breakfast restaurants.
(5)Courtney I.
I thought this place kicked ass the first few times I went. I realized how wrong I was the last time I was in there. THERE WAS A HUGE ROACH ON MY TABLE!!!! DISGUSTING. Seriously disgusting. I am sorry but that is unacceptable and I will never be back again. Needless to say, we did not stay to finish our meals.
(1)Neesa D.
i love this breakfast place!!! it is always packed in the morning so be sure to be early cause they close early too. i have been here a couple times and i am a fan. food is always good and seasoned right. the wait staff and cashiers are always nice and helpful. it is better than ihop, golden nugget and famous pancake house!
(4)Tina C.
5 stars for the steak chilaquiles, good service, and good prices. If you have never had the steak chilaquiles before please do yourself a favor and get them. They are sooooo delicious! I am not sure if they offer green sauce, but it doesn't matter. You must order the red sauce! Mmm...I'm hungry...
(5)Big R.
For all the years I've been going to this and the original I have NEVER had any kind of negative experience. The owner runs a very tight ship and it shows. It's always clean, the staff are courteous and professional, and the food is always good. What more can you ask for?
(5)Anthony M.
This is the place to go for big, affordable, done right American style breakfast. New customers be weary...the parking sucks. Luckily I was able to find pay parking on the street not too far from the front door. You can try waiting for a spot, but I hate to wait when I'm hungry and I'd feel more comfortable knowing that I could drive off in a snap rather than being blocked in which I saw happen here a few times. The good news is that I overheard one of the staff mentioning an additional lot coming soon. Walking thru the door you will encounter extra courteous wait staff. The food seems to be cooked very home style with more butter than oil or lard. My Hungry Man's meal was more food that I imagined. That and a glass of OJ only set me back $11. Can't argue with that!
(5)Meghan O.
Holla! I really like this place, besides the delicious nutella banana creeps, country fried steak and hot coffee filled to the brim....Its Americana. It's fairly large so don't get discouraged by the long line (if there is one) it moves quickly. I was there on a Sunday (father's day) at 12p and only waited about the est time, 15min, but I was too excited to care about the line, finding a good, cheap northside bfast place is a hard task. I'm a southsider, so waiting for things like mediocre service or food OR parking is a no-go. My friend had the Mark Rubio (sp?) omelet, and seemed to enjoy it; I'm not a huge fan of chicken in my eggs.. Oh yeah and the staff, everybody knows everybody, it's a little city in itself, LOVE IT!
(4)Sam R.
Only Good Things To Say. Cozy Corner is accessible, straightforward good, delicious and very inexpensive. The servers are charming saints and make you feel at home. My advice to hipsters and yuppies (my clan, I admit): The food is super cheap - but tip on your experience, which is going to be great. Be respectful and nice to the regulars; they are V.I.P.s. Sure, it's the type of place where everyone feels and is treated as VIP - but given that that is a restaurant/home, let's keep the positive energy flowing. Don't over think it - just don't be maleducado. If you can - get there early to avoid waits (duh, on brunching). The line moves pretty fast.
(5)Eric G.
Same consistent service as food as the first time I went.
(5)Dennis C.
Food is great. Service is pretty good. Cleanliness is superb! Parking is plentiful. Hours are a little too short; late-night hours would be a most welcome addition. Prices are a bit too high compared to other diners in the city.
(4)Bryan G.
This is what a diner is supposed to be. The wait staff is impeccable. They're attentive and very quick. Everyone called me "hon", "sug", or "sweetie". I sat at the counter and observed the operation; it is an efficient, well-oiled machine. Despite this, it maintains its warmth and friendliness. The food was high-quality diner food. Nothing spectacular, but honestly, I'm not really looking for spectacular when I go to a diner. It was plentiful and reasonably priced. The space itself is nothing special, but it is clean, bright, and well-maintained. I think the theme here is taking fairly unremarkable things and turning them in an exceedingly pleasant experience that leaves you feeling simply satisfied.
(5)David L.
I have lived over here for a few years now. This place is basically the only clean and well serviced restaurant in this neighborhood. A diamond in the rough. Great skirt steak and the turkey sandwich tastes like it was actually carved right off the birds breast. Good service.
(4)Elisha P.
AMAZING! Just had brunch there today and can we say YUM!!! The food there is SO affordable, great portions, clean, fast, and friendly service. The perfect casual dining spot to get some good food w/o breaking the bank. will definetly return!
(5)Bex F.
It's diner breakfast, plain and simple. Always packed, always a wait but it goes quick. Their bacon could use some help but I love that they put whipped cream on top of my chocolate milk. It's a get-'em-in, get-'em-out joint and service tends to feel rushed, but the food is pretty decent. Really, there's not much else in the area to hit up for some breakfast food. Ah crap, I meant this to be about the Logan Square spot....I must be getting too old to read.
(4)Israel D.
I took a day off last Monday, so i decided to have a nice and delicious breakfast with my wife in this place. The service was good, the food it's OK, and the coffee couldn't be better. We get our food 8 minutes after we ordered,. I ordered an omelet , hash browns, and french toast. My wife ordered Sunny side up eggs, bacon and potato pancakes. I was surprised when i didn't see my french toast on my plate , so asked the waiter for my french toast, but she said she will give me a separated order, she told me that the order was 4 pieces, but she could give 2, nice ah? We finished our breakfast and the waiter was setting up forks, spoons and knives into a napkin or something like that, but she forgot my french toast :(. Well , I was going to ask her what happened with my french toast , but I changed my mind, after all is not a big deal. I will be back this Sunday, do you know what my first order is going to be, french toast !, I'm sure I can give them another star.
(3)Alicia F.
Mmm, cheesecake stuffed French toast! Plus, a parking lot. Our service was quick and attentive. The menu was large, my daughter all but inhaled her grilled cheese. It's a little out of the way for us, but I'm sure we'll be back!
(4)Joe K.
Great chilaquiles. Who knew that this place was in my old neighborhood. I was in town for the holidays and my buddy took me. I'll definitely be coming back. Great atmosphere. A mix of all sorts of people from the area. Nice waitress.
(4)Bob D.
My girlfriend and I wanted to stop and get breakfast before furniture shopping on labor day. We stumbled across this place as the exterior was inviting. We walked in to see that there was a wide array of people there; mostly Hispanic, which is expected considering the neighborhood . The hostess was very hospitable and the place look pretty clean inside. The breakfast was darn good and at a very good price. We had biscuits and gravy, a skirt steak skillet, an egg bacon and cheese sandwich and a side of corn beef hash... all were top notch. The service was good too. The wait staff all looked happy to be working there and were on top of it. If you're looking for a cheap breakfast place and happen to be in this area I would definitely recommend it.
(4)Marlyn L.
How come I can NEVER park in their lot!?!? It is always crowded. However, the turn around here is quick. The wait staff is always awesome. I like their breakfast. I usually get pancakes and hash browns (they are so good here!) and bacon. Their club sandwiches are good, too. I've never had a bad experience here. The bad part is that they close at 4 pm or some lame hour like that. Give it a chance! It's newer than the Cozy Corner on Milwaukee Avenue.
(4)Jess S.
So glad this Cozy was nearby when I moved into the 'hood last year. Same fun, fast service and delicious menu as the Milwaukee/California location but obviously newer and, yes, just a bit cleaner. Definitely my old standby.
(5)Brigette S.
Excellent place for a weekday breakfast or weekend brunch. They have your typical full pancake house menu of sandwiches, soups, dinner platters, etc. Stick with the breakfast menu and milkshakes. The other stuff is okay. But their omlets, hash browns, and sausages are where it's at. I think their omlets are cooked in lots of butter, but to some that's a good thing. Very family friendly. Weekends (especially Sundays) are super busy. They close at 4 each day. Parking lot is tiny. So if you're not from the area to walk there, just park down the street somewhere. Even though it's always been busy when I go there, I never feel rushed and it's very spacious, unlike most breakfast diners. Service is excellent and friendly. Except I don't speak much Spanish and some of the staff don't speak much English. So if you're a picky eater and need twelve extras sides and substitutions or a special color of drinking straw, you better be really patient and have a good sense of humor. It's not greasy spoon cheap. Not worth the price for most lunch and dinner items. Totally worth it for the tasty, large breakfast items.
(4)Burton B.
This place is awesome. Great service. Great food. What more can u ask for.
(5)Cat M.
Great Food. Great Price. Great Workers. Two thumbs up in my book
(5)C S.
Other than Dawn being a nice waitress, the food was ok, $2.49 for a plate of mushy, freezer burned hash browns was disappointing to say the least....given the reviews I would've thought that the food would be scrumptious but it was barely acceptable - I've had way better food at IHOP and for less $. The syrup was so watered down it was like brown sugar water, kids menus were given to us wet so they weren't able to color on them, and other waitresses came around and asked us to place things on our table while we were eating.
(1)Tim A.
I am so glad to have this place in my neighborhood. A well-lit, clean general interest restaurant with a Latino/Mexican bent. Very friendly service. I've been here multiple times for breakfast/brunch and have never been disappointed with their Mexican breakfasts -- chilequiles especially. The menu variety is on par with what you might find at a Denny's or Perkins, but with lots of variations and extras, so even the pickiest diner eater can find something they like here. If Yelp were to allow half stars, I'd give this place 4-1/2 out of 5.
(4)Elena R.
Embarassing but I've been to Cozy's 5 times this week! It is good, fast, diner food. I love their coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes, chicken noodle soup, Cozylicious sandwich, hasbrowns .... mmmmmmm good diner food, period.
(5)Emcee A.
Went in this morning... Brought my girlfriend from aurora. Thought it would be a good place to eat... Until... One moldy tomato and one hair in my pancakes later... I came to the conclusion it wasnt the right place. Check your food everyone! Thank God whip cream is white and she hates tomatoes!
(1)Andrea S.
Clean, quick, freindly staff. My friends love to get the breakfast here, but I am not a breakfast person so I always end up ordering from the lunch or dinner menu. It's always good ... in a diner food kind of way :) My friends really really like the breakfast!! It's always really crowded but they are still quick at serving you. Sometimes parking is a bitch.
(3)rachel s.
This is the same menu as the cozy corner on Milwaukee, but clean, FAST and with fantastic service. Diner food at its best.
(5)Martha Z.
this no frills diner whips up a hearty and tasty batch of belgian waffles. service was prompt and my tasty coffee was being constantly refilled. what stood out the most was the cleanliness, which isn't always common for diners. only open til 4 pm
(4)Sean W.
great service, great food
(5)Erin F.
Great service and food. Although the interior is a bit stark, it's better than a dark and dingy diner. I will say one thing, I have a love/hate relationship with omelets. I always order them and they are soooo greasy - they taste good, but I feel sick later. The omelets here were so light and fluffly, I even took the rest home (which I NEVER do with breakfast food). Will definitely be back!
(5)M K.
There are two cozy corner restaurants. This location is FAR superior. Why? The employees. ..they're old fashioned Chicagoans who 'get it.' They're happy and genuinely concerned about not only the customers, but their fellow man/woman. They smile, talk ask questions like, "How's your day?" Therefore, it makes your day better and you're happy to go back to 4356 W. Diversey. On the other hand the cozy corner on Milwaukee Avenue hired a NON Chicagoan and she's the 'host.' She has the personality of a 'doorknob' and she works the customers like a factory worker (who hates their job), works the assembly line. The reviews for the Milwaukee cozy corner reflect these comments. I've been to the cozy corner twenty times on Milwaukee ave (never once saw the 'doorknob' smile). She (doorknob) has made snotty ignorant comments on several occasions, in front of customers. There's one owner for both locations...a nice enough fellow named, Peter. Someone needs to tell him about the 'doorknob' he has hosting the cozy corner on Milwaukee Avenue. I live a half mile from Milwaukee Avenue cozy corner and 3 miles from 4356 W. Diversey cozy corner. But I'll drive the 3 miles to stay away from the 'doorknob.'
(5)Vivi A.
Not the tastiest food but pretty decent. I definitely don't see why the long wait sometimes but I'm assuming it's because there's really no other breakfast spot around . Double check your phone orders ! And I have patience when calling in.
(3)Rachel D.
Our server today, Victor, was amazing! He was quick, nice, funny and apologetic about restaurant blunders that were out of his control (our meal coming late). It is really close to where I live and it has two parking lots for your convenience.
(5)Margaret A.
The service is always good. The selection is enormous. I have never complained or been unhappy with anything in this place.
(3)Eric N.
Love the abuelita skillet, the chilaquiles, & the banana, strawberry, & nutella crepes. simply to die for!!
(5)Jesus G.
Love this place! Now that they have an extra parking lot I am def going back more. The service has always been great and the food is always on point. I always get either an omlette or the skillet (meat lovers skillet is my fav!). I also like that the waitress/waiter always keeps the coffee coming while you are there. The location itself is super clean which I like. Just be ware that on Sat/ Sunday mornings it gets really crowded so be prepared to wait or just come in early (before 10am). Enjoy!!
(5)Zach A.
A great breakfast spot at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy but it's a great diner with tasty traditional breakfasts. It's perfect for friends, family or kids if you want a quick bite to get you started.
(4)Mireya R.
It always my favorite place to eat breakfast and lady's are very nice and so kind and very helpful
(5)Ily L.
One word: Delicious! ! Great food and good atmosphere. Staff had great customer service and are pretty nice. But food definitely takes it, you must try.
(5)Rene M.
I came in from out of town and heard this specific location was a must. I went on a weekend and it was a little busy but counter space was available so there wasn't an issue. The servers all seemed pleasant and the french toast stuffed with cheesecake was ridiculously good. The only bad thing is knowing there isn't a Cozy Corner in Las Vegas. This place is a must for breakfast.
(5)Kris G.
My go to when I'm hungover on a Sunday. Grab the country skillet (hash browns, cheese, your choice of eggs, country fried steak, country gravy, with a side of toast). A little too much hash browns for me, but I just don't it all of it. Service is quick with a smile, food is consistent. I've told two of my friends about this place as well, and they walked out happy and full of delicious breakfast food. Fair warning though, that Sunday church/family crowd pack this place quick in the morning. But every other morning, I've only had to wait 5 minutes max. I miss this place already writing this review.
(5)Mildred N.
I love it here....friends even joke and say I'm part owner because I go so much. Food is always good. Some of my favorite choices are Country friend steak, country friend steak skillet, and the typical egg hash brown and sausages, and the Fiesta skillet (it's chorizo) mmm. The sausages are fat and juicy. Also you can substitute them for turkey sausages. They make great sandwhiches. They only thing stopping me from giving it a five is the fact that sometimes it gets so full I've had to leave like twice because of the wait times and that's usually just Sundays. Other than that awesome place!!! Check it out
(4)Kathryn K.
I stumbled across this diner while looking for a place to kill some time on a Sunday morning. I lucked out and found a parking spot right in front (their parking lot fills up fast on a weekend morning!) The line for seating was out the door and down the block. I walked in to give my name and saw open spots at the counter. Sweet! No waiting to sit at the counter - this is a great option if you don't have a group. I'd never been here before, so I asked my server what she recommended. She asked if I wanted savory or sweet and I had to go for sweet. Her choice was the stuffed pancakes or french toast and I picked the Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast with eggs and bacon. Service was fast and friendly and I love that they have flavored creamers for the coffee. When the food arrived, I had to take a picture of it. It was as good as it looked. The sweet cheese stuffing in the french toast was much more like a cannoli filling than cheesecake but it was delicious, with just the right amount of strawberries on top. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was crispy, the way I like it. The only complaint I have is minor - I had trouble getting my server's attention to get my bill, since she was swamped at the cash register. I recommend getting there either very early (they open at 6) or around lunch time. The mid morning after church crowd is tremendous and if you have a group, you'll wait at least 30 minutes at peak time.
(5)Mike I.
Excellent diner. Service and food was really good. I got the greek omelette with pancakes and hash browns. The omelette was moist, which is what a omelette should be like. Orange juice was freshly squeezed too. Plenty of seating. Breakfast time its usually very busy. They are in a parking lot but thats almost always full. Terrific choice if your in the area.
(5)Diana F.
Pretty much my favorite restaurant. The food is made quick and is delicious. Occasionally I've had a bad waitress who is slow or doesn't check on the table but usually they have great customer service. The only con is that this place gets full quickly!! But it's to be expected, like said it's a great place.
(5)Nessa N.
My family and I have been coming in here for the last 12 months and it's always a great experience! We usually come for breakfast/brunch hours during the week...there's never a long wait and the staff is always nice , fast and friendly. Everything on the menu is delicious, big portions, and reasonable prices. Our server today was Victor, he was super professional, attentive, and friendly! Victor you rock!!..and thank you for the great service! :)
(5)Yesi D.
This place is amazing! this is my go to spot on Sundays for brunch. Their coffee is not the best but it's decent, but my husband prepares it to make it extra delicious. He makes it just right. We always try to order different things, but I usually go for their chilaquiles rojos which are thee bomb! If not, the fiesta skillet is just as awesome! He usually gets the crepes de cajeta combo. The staff is always friendly and we've never had to wait more than 20 mins to be seated. I give this place 2 thumbs up! Keep up the great work cozy corner!
(5)Kristen B.
Not sure where the 4 star rating is coming from here, our experience was extremely blah. Poor service, bland food, even the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE diners.. Cheap, no-fuss breakfast food is one of my favorite things, but this place sucks and we won't be back. SERVICE: Our order sat in the pass for at least 6-7 minutes before anyone brought it to us, and when it arrived I let the waitress know the order was wrong. She said "oh" and walked away with no further comment. Our corrected order did arrive quickly but the eggs were overcooked and the whole thing was under-seasoned. FOOD: Tastes like it was barely salted, scrambled eggs were overcooked to the point of being browned and rubbery. Also, what they're calling "salsa" here tastes like spaghetti sauce. Maybe OK for people who haven't had or don't like actual Mexican food, but it was pretty gross to us. ATMOSPHERE: It's a diner, I'm really not expecting much, but the servers all seemed like they were panicky and one of them stood at the pass and SHOUTED across the entire restaurant everytime another server's food would come up. Listening to someone scream VICTOR!!!! LUPE!!!! VICTORRRRRR!!! was pretty obnoxious, would be way more efficient if she just took the food to the tables instead of standing there screaming.

I've found my new favorite breakfast place in Chicago in the wake of Dillmans untimely closing. Diner? Check. Perfectly cooked hash browns (crispy, but still slightly chewy)? Check. Fresh Avacado for my omelet? Check. Willing to accommodate a fussy customer who likes a skillet with ingredients in the kitchen, but not necessarily on the menu? HUGE check. Friendly service? Check. The only knock I could say about this place after two visits thus far is that they can be a little slow to refill the drinks, but if that is the worst thing you have to deal with for a reasonably priced, high quality breakfast in Chicago, you'll endure. Plus, the waits have been super short on my visits (a Saturday morning and Sunday morning), though I'm sure their other location is more crowded. Thanks for a great meal Cozy Corner; I'll be back soon!
(5)Gaby T.
Good spot for breakfast or lunch. Take advantage of the early bird specials before 9am during the week. This place gets really packed on the weekends. I used to loveeee their spicy green salsa chilaquiles. But then I got sick to my stomach and I've never ordered them again. Recommend the banana Nutella crepes. Pancakes are good too!
(3)Tracela B.
Great food, great staff. We arrived early, got in and was seated immediately, upon leaving the line was long, people waited patiently to get in the place. A group of five, we enjoyed the meal, atmosphere, and our waitress who was super in assisting us with the combination of the meals.
(5)Rose L.
My husband and I dine here almost every week. It's a cozy place and although there is a wait on the weekends it's worth it. We tend to arrive before 9 am (sometimes 9:30 am) and almost never wait. The service is great and food is tasty for the price you pay. There is one server that doesn't write the order down so it's kind of annoying especially when she forgets something. They usually make it right, but the inconvenience of having to return the dish leaves you wondering what hands it went through to arrive back on your table. It's just annoying. There is a separate parking lot to the east of the establishment, coffee is good especially now with the flavored creme, weekday early breakfast specials are great, chili is the best but sadly only available during fall/winter. Recently I went on a sunny, warm vacation and didn't come here for 2 weeks!!! I was extremely excited to come back to cool, gloomy weather just so I can have my Cozy Corner breakfast. There's not a lot of places that have that affect on me.
(5)Amanda H.
If you reference my review of the location in Logan Square, you'll see why we came here. The manager at the other location was rude but we really wanted delicious Cozy Corner breakfast/lunch. So we came here and explained our situation. We got sat right away and the waitress listened to our poor experience at the other location, apologized, and told us she would speak to her manager/the owner. Apparently these two locations have the same owner or they're related. Anyways, the staff was friendly and prompt and our order was correct and delicious! We'll be coming back to this location even though it's a little further from our place.

Love this place came here early on a Sunday morning and was greeted by such a funny and outgoing host, that happened to called herself Queen Bee and It was such a crazy coincidence because everyone calls me Bee. She was very sweet and made my whole time there just fun, I complained to her about how terrible or a night I had with no sleep and she offered me coffee and water. Really hard to get me to laugh being not even 8 am yet lol. This wasn't my first time eating here but it was my first time taking it to go. I got there Meat lover's skillet which was cooked with Onions, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and ham, green peppers and red peppers it's just soo good and I usually ask for my egg over easy and it was done perfectly and to top it off on the drive home it didn't crack I don't know, how that manage to happen but I was happy lol food is just amazingly good not too greasy or over drenched with butter! A little upset it isn't open 24 hour, since a few times after a late night out I've tried to go to sober up, and I'm either too late or too early lol. but I will live lol. Def recommend this place to anyone for a good breakfast spot! and want to skip on that IHOP or Denny's (blah) lol

I love this place. They have amazing food!! Their chicken supreme sand which is really good and they give a lot of fries with the order (you probably won't eat them all though) the cheese burgers are big and really juicy! And my favorite is the meat lover skillet I mean Its great, they put a great amount of hash browns meat cheese and of course two juicy eggs on top :) the waitresses are normally sweet and nice but once in awhile they can be rude and un-expectable but understandable because it can get extremely busy. Sometimes you wait 45 mins just to sit down and the line is out the door literally.

The food is just ok, for any morning you really don't feel like cooking yeah it's eatable but not wow so I was ok with eating in or picking up food however the last time I ordered a skillet to go which comes with salsa tell me why the manager charged me an extra dollar when I asked for extra salsa to go?!?!!! What the heck!!! So you're telling me I can have all the salsa I want only if I eat it but if I'm doing take out you charge me for the extra salsa?!! As if the freaking salsa were amazing, NO IT IS NOT so get your act straight management I AM DEFINITELY NOT paying for extra salsa or eating in, you lost a customer for your stupid $1 charge! And no it's not about the $1 it's the trying make money at any cost mockery crap, next time friends suggest your place I will suggest another and spread the word.
(2)Rebeca R.
I have had so many things on the menu. I love the Red chilaquilles no meat (green are too tangy for me) Cheesecake french toast is very good. The Tortilla Soup on Thursdays is delish. Skillets are good. oh and the Country Fried Steak is very good. Service is always good Iv never had any problems.
(4)Lisa F.
Great food and unbeatable prices! I haven't tried something I didn't like yet. The Santa Fe salad with the cilantro dressing is my new obsession. And the half soup/half sandwich combo is the perfect amount of food. Get the chili - you won't regret it.
(5)Thomas W.
Our regular breakfast place. Good for lunch, too. Decent, not expensive. They do close early, though. They are not open for dinner.
(4)Christine L.
Super fast service and delicious food. I so wished this place delivered. It's a typical breakfast diner with some of the best breakfast foods. They have a $3.99 Early bird breakfast specials from 6AM-9AM. For less than a McDonald's breakfast meal you can get a Ham & Cheese Omelette with hash browns AND pancakes. They have a few other options for the special that provide just as hearty a meal. Why would you go anywhere else for breakfast? Soups. AWESOME. Biscuits & Gravy. YUMMAY. Skillets. DIVINE. Omelettes. HUGE. Wraps. (skip - these were only ok). Their lunch/dinner foods can be hit or miss but their breakfasts more than make up for it. Service is always very very quick and very very friendly. They are really good at getting people in and out.
(5)Jasmine C.
I've been here a few times for breakfast and I love the Fiesta skillet! The abuelita skillet is amazing too! The Abuelita has everything the Fiesta has but they add pineapple(takes breakfast to a whole other level). I've had version of Mexican breakfasts at other restaurants but Cozy corner has the best tasting! I had mine with a side of pancakes. The pancakes are kinda dry but a little butter and syrup soften them up a bit. Service is always great! Full of friendly people!

I'm really struggling to understand how this place is rated so highly...! I've only visited once and I'll try one more time just to see if it's worth revising this review, but I was unimpressed. The place looks really cute from the outside and it's awesome that they have a parking lot, but that's about where the pro list ended for me. My boyfriend got the corned beef and hash with eggs and the moment he took his first bite he made a face and a "thumbs down" - I took my first bite in my Greek omelet to find zero flavor, and the hash browns were equally bland. I did get chocolate chip pancakes and they were delicious...but those are pretty impossible to mess up. There was plenty of seating but with the set up and non-carpeting it was SO loud. The diner was far from full and we were struggling to hear each other. The service was decent but not overly friendly or attentive, food was cheap but still not worth it, and both of us left thinking about how much better our next meal will be, regardless of where we went. I'll give this place another try just to see if I'm being too harsh, but I'm in no rush to revisit...

When you're good you're good! What else is there to say... This place is so good and by the looks of the line, it shows. Doesn't take long to get seated, so don't let that stop you from checking it out. The service if spot on and the food even better.
(5)Vivian W.
I love the Cream of Broccoli and Cream of Chicken with Rice Soups served on Mondays and Tuesdays.
(4)Colleen T.
Love coming here on the weekend for a delicious and laid back breakfast! It gets pretty busy (service doesn't reflect that) so be mindful of that.
(4)Fadi S.
Good spot to have a nice brunch if you happen to be around the area. Service and food timing was good. The menu selection was your tradition breakfast food so nothing special but not saying it wasnt great. Overall 4 stars. My ONLY real complaint is the freaking parking lot. The resteruant is pretty big compared to the 9 parking spot they have outside.
(4)Alecia G.
Gypsy skillet and pancakes with fresh squeezed oj!! Yum!!! This place was delightful!!
(5)tia r.
I love breakfast at this place. They give you a ton of food for a reasonable price. Only problem i have is waiting in line for seating because they do not accept reservations.
(5)Ann S.
Ordered a veggie breakfast, it was cooked just right. Many places either cook the vegies too long or not long enough. So I was impressed when I didn't have any complaint. Price is a 2 thumbs up, coffee is better than Ihop! Parking is so convenient, servers are attentive.
(5)Happy A.
I have visited this location a handful of time and it was just okay, it wasn't the greatest but it did the trick. A week or so ago I ordered the Veggie Skillet and I picked it up (didn't eat at location) went back to work to enjoy my meal so I thought. I am eating my breakfast and a few bights into it I realized there was a NASTY HAIR in my food. Of course I stopped eating and called the location, to my surprise they offered me a new meal anytime I wanted it. At first I was thinking nope not going to do that again but I wanted to give them another shot. I ordered the same thing again today but this time they screw the order up. I am beyond disappointed at this point and will never ever give them my business again. If your smart you'll stay away. Oh I forgot to mention this was the second time I found hair in my food!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(1)William M.
Yeah I mean, ok it's decent but give me any other option I'll take it. It's always super busy, the coffee is decent. The wait staff is rushed and sometimes forget about you. Eh, two stars may be a little of a kick to the groin but this place kinda sucks
(2)Anna T.
My usual breakfast place. Everything I've had has been excellent. Try their Reese's pancakes. I didn't trust them at first but they're 10 times better than chocolate chip pancakes could ever be. Great service. Your food comes super quickly and the waitresses are so friendly. The coffee is pretty average and the hash browns are a little greasy but it's the perfect diner food. My friend and I go here about 3 times a week and our bill is never more than $25 for both of us even if we get milkshakes. Delicious, dependable, and friendly. The perfect Chicago diner.
(5)Amanda C.
Food here is delicious and fresh. Everyone in here has a great attitude. My father is a regular and they already have his coffee to go ready for him before he walks in. I went with my dad once and ordered my coffee and honey. A week later we went in for breakfast and enjoyed their 4.99 special. The lady who works the front brought me over some honey even before our waitress got there. We both had eggs over easy with pancakes and hash browns. They actually had turkey bacon and didn't up charge me for it with the special. I thought that was great. Eggs were cooked perfect and pancakes were delicious. My Dad loves this place and so do I!!!! You feel right at home at Cozy Corner!
(5)Belisario C.
Love this place for my Sunday morning breakfast. You need to come early Saturdays or Sundays because their food is so great that the wait time to get a table/booth can be long. I love their French toast, omelette and cream soup.
(5)Lia V.
I really liked this place! We went for an early breakfast. The staff was SO nice and attentive. I overheard the server next to us tell her table to be patient because she saw how the eggs turned out and wasn't satisfied so she had the kitchen re-make her eggs! I just thought that was nice and thoughtful. The food was good - we got skillets. I mean.. can you really go wrong with hashbrowns, meat, and eggs in a skillet? I don't think so. Really large space. I'd return here for sure.
(4)Bianca A.
Awesome food ! I'm in love with breakfast it's my favorite meal of the day and this place especially :D So I thought I should try working here as a part time job. I never got called which is ok. I'm still an addict of this place .. I'm not going to stop going. I just don't understand why they're always running short on their cashier staff . I don't want to sound like an upset unemployed costumer I just don't understand why they're always looking for people to work and then get applicants and never call them back. And this year alone at least every month I've seen their wanted sign up. :( kinda sad I love the food industry and working with people is my strength . Anyway I'm not saying this because of myself I've had family and friends told me that they've applied there too and never gotten called. My dad worked with the company so does my uncle. He's still in the company. But anyway Cozy corner you guys are great! Like I said I love the food ! It's the hiring managers that need to realize you need to hire people diversely not just the ones they like ..... Other than that can't wait to be back there soon !
(4)La Tonya G.
I have been to Cozy Corner a few times and I have to say that I truly like the staff and the food! I have only had one item I didn't like from them and it was the corn beef, I didn't know it was going to be hot and I just wanted a nice corn beef on rye unheated...smile, but what made me like this place is, when I told them I didn't like it the manager came over told me she was sorry and my waitress came back so I could order something else! To some that may seem like a duh moment but trust I have been to places that make you feel like you just asked for their first born because you didn't like something that was sat in front of you, but not Cozy Corner they were great! They restroom was clean and that is something that is very important to me! The coffee is addicting and the food is fabulous if you are in the area I say try them out! They do get busy so if you have a large group know you may have a small wait but it is well worth it...you will do a happy dance, I know I did!!
(4)Tawanda W.
Its always busy, but I love this place! The food is always good and the staff is very friendly!
(4)Lucy F.
I came here for breakfast, the place gets pack and their is a small parking. The service is ok, but I feel like they like to rush you out. The food is average pancakes, bacon, some Mexican breakfast portions. The prices are ok not to expensive or to cheap, the food portions are ok as well. I just didn't like their coffee it felt like it was sitting for to long. We waited for ever on maple syrup and ketchup. They do get extremely busy, but that is not an excuse on why you have to wait on your essentials things like forks and napkins.
(2)Jaime G.
Very good Mexican diner. Old fave's like huevos rancheros and chilaquiles done right. Esp love the huevos rancheros verde...spicy and incredibly good! Ask for a side of warm fresh tortillas cause you'll need them. Plus, they have some good options for kids like the buttermilk pancakes, crepes, and waffles. The place is big so dont be scared off by the line...it goes fast. Friendly staff and good coffee make it a good option for sunday breakfast/brunch.
(5)Sara G.
The most amazing breakfast that you will ever have... It doesn't matter what you try from here just know that whatever it is will be delicious! I'm a repeat customer because of the excellent service, the superb quality of the food and the fact that they have such a diverse menu. Parking can be a problem some times, but definitely check it out!
(5)Nathalie G.
I loved how nice and friendly they were here! I ordered the chilaquiles Mexican breakfast and my husband the cheesecake pancakes. I couldn't even finish my plate because of the huge portions. It was pretty good. definitely would come here again for a quick breakfast.
(4)Matt M.
I've been to all the diners in the area looking for the best omlette and cozy corner takes the trophy for sure. The service is great and everyone's very friendly. The place is modern, clean, and looks new. The omlette is huge and comes with hash browns and a side. Overall if you want a quality breakfast, go to cozy corner. There's a parking lot right in front but it does get full.
(5)Heather W.
I've heard a lot about this place...The eggs, the bacon, the pancakes...A must try! Well, I would have loved to try it but after waiting for 10 minutes without as much as a glass of water I left. I can understand if it was a weekend day or during breakfast, lunch, or dinner...but it was during the week in mid afternoon. Thanks but no thanks. Customer service is a must!!!
(1)Maria D.
I have, sadly, eaten here too many times, including yesterday (my boyfriend will eat their omlettes since he's not very particular about breakfast). The food is horribly bland at best and pretty bad at it's worst. I have had undercooked pancakes several times, including yesterday - you know, when you cut into them and the batter runs onto the plate. The bacon is rubbery and their coffee is undrinkable - it would help if they actually put some coffee in their coffee. I'm not a big fan of hot brown water. As for their service - too eratic, sometimes decent and sometimes brutally bad. My last comment is to warn anyone away from eating their "whole grain toast!" We sat at the counter in front of the grill yesterday and I watched as the various cooks handled the bread as they put it in the bin under the warmer - after they touched their faces, etc and then watched as the young woman calling out the orders played with her hair, wiped her mouth with her hands - and then touched the toast as she moved it around to make room for more. So gross -and I had a lot of time to watch since it took them 30 mins. to get our order. In short, if you don't care about the quality (or safety) of your food, this is the place for you. If you do, avoid this place!
(1)Renee E.
Oh Cozy Corner...thank you for being one of the only restaurants within a few blocks of our house. We got spoiled in Logan Square, so now that we're in Belmont Gardens, we've got slim pickin's for restaurant options. I love breakfast. I really do. And I love it even more if I'm a little bit hungover. Cozy Corner does a mean omelette that definitely satisfies that hangover craving (our faves are the California and the Mexican.) We usually end up only able to eat half of our breakfast, but that just means more breakfast later in the day! Win! My only complaint is that the hashbrowns could use a little more....something. They're a bit on the bland, slightly under-cooked side. Then again, I like a crispy hashbrown. Big bonus is that they also do carryout, so when you really want breakfast but don't want to wait or sit there, you can call ahead and pick up your meal.
(4)Lisa M.
Love it
(5)Hector G.
Was told by a friend of mine to try this place that the breakfast here was excellent. I tried it for the first time today and she was right on the money. I ordered a veggie omelet with hash browns and toast and it was all cooked to perfection and not all slopped up with grease or butter. The lady who took my order was super friendly and had me laughing early in the morning which is hard to do considering i was on my way to work. Excellent customer service. Will eat here again soon.
(5)M P.
Ugh, $9.50 for a Denver omelet w/ cheese, hash brown and a couple pieces of toast. We're talking about breakfast, right? Here's the kicker, when I opened the container, I had not only a half order of hash browns, but they were overcooked and extra crispy. You'd think for what they charge, you'd get some decent food. Sadly, no. I usually go to their location on California and Milwaukee (never had a bad meal there) and order their "$3.99 meal deal before 9am", but they were closed for remodeling. Here at this location the "before 9am deal" is $4.99. It was past that time but I figured how much more could it be. DOUBLE! Wish I went with my gut and hit the ol' Breakfast diner on Armitage and Cicero instead.
(1)Nancy A.
Decent breakfast but you get small portions. Friendly staff. Im just bummed that they close at 4pm.
(4)Adri T.
I was looking forward to trying a new breakfast place for my pancake fix. However, despite the good reviews and that when I drive by it seems to always be packed, my experience with the food and our waitress was not so good. Perhaps it was that we went on the busiest day, a Saturday morning, and although the wait was not long and the line moved along pretty good, the quality of the food was mediocre honestly had better at the other well known breakfast spot. It took forever to get our coffees refilled...the waitress was not attentive..when we were sat down...the used coffee creamers were still there..the food was overly salty...and for what we got..it was a bit on the pricey side...I highly recommend for the quality and service the breakfast spot on western/elston/diversey.otherwise....if you want to overpay for so-so service and bland food....Cozy it is....
(2)Michael W.
This place hits the spot. I am partial because its near my casa. The food is decent and I only eat breakfast here. I love the Latino options. That's what keeps me coming for more. The staff is great and always on top of their tables. It is what it is and it ain't bad. Plus its clean and the neighborhood here is getting better.
(3)Brandon V.
There isn't too much I can say here that hasn't already been said. This is one of a few places in my neighborhood that I have been meaning to check out for a long time and just never seemed to get around to it. Popped in yesterday afternoon around 3pm and got even more than I expected. Tons of great food for your dollars (if, like me, you love crappy diner food), EXTREMELY friendly and fun staff, and a very clean and nice restaurant. Definitely will be back; this may very well be my new favorite lunch spot when I'm home.
(5)Laura N.
Usually crowded but for a good reason - food is yummy even the non-breakfast food. My grandmother is is 89 and very old school Mexican. She liked the chilaquiles. Nina our waitress was very prompt and helpful! Definitely coming back to try the breakfast menu. My corn beef was pretty awesome though!
(5)Jo G.
Love this place...go here every Sunday morning for breakfast. The food is delicious and fresh!!! Service is fast and the waiters are very pleasant. Highly recommend.
(5)Emily H.
Talk about a well-oiled machine! This modern diner is always hopping on the weekends, yet still delivers fast and friendly service to each customer. Normally when you have 6 - 10 servers whirling and zooming around the same tiny prep area you are going to have some crashes, but watching the waitresses at Cozy Corner maneuver around each other with huge trays of food is like watching an artful ballet. Breakfast and a show! The waitresses are typically over-worked, but tenaciously cheerful nonetheless. They don't skimp on the coffee service or the favorite-aunty-style sass. The Cozy Corner Restaurant serves up classic American diner food (egg combos, sandwiches, burgers, shakes) and a selection of Mexican breakfast items. My particular favorites are the chilaquiles verde and the stuffed french toast. They also make a mean cup of fresh squeezed orange juice. I've tried a number of different foods there with a number of different people who vary in their picky-ness and we've never had anything bad or left mad. This is a great place for family breakfasts, hangover curing, or brunch-n-munch urges.
(4)Kevin B.
The reviews of this place must have been from friends and family. The place sucks, has no taste what so ever! The original Cozy Corner is GREAT, why does this one suck so much? I rather go to Ihop!
(1)Edgar P.
Now I'm not sure if you know this but I'm a huge fan of everything Breakfast...it's my favorite meal of the day and I can have it at any time of day as well. I'm always looking for new places to try out and I happened to hear of Cozy Corner by word of mouth. Walking in, you're immediately welcomed and seated at a table, after that, the server comes over and takes your drink order while you browse their breakfast menu thoroughly. I personally got the Waffle Combo Meal that came with two eggs, bacon, ham or sausage and one of the crispiest waffles you will ever have. I thought the service was amazing and that went well with great food. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to taking another visit to this fine establishment in the near future! Enjoy! -Papa Bear
(4)Adam P.
Love it. Try the chilaquiles. Absolutely delicious. Also, the Cozy Skillet, cream cheese french toast and blueberry pancakes are incredible.
(5)Jean C.
Boy, this place does what my folks would have called "a land office business." For you young whippersnappers, that means they are hella busy. We arrived about 11:30 on Easter Sunday and ended up waiting for about half an hour with a gazillion other people of whom I was probably the crankiest about having to wait. But it was worth it. I actually passed on all my usual first-visit dishes (Eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes) and tried their French toast. It was light and tasty with just the right amount of crisp and none of that weird metallic flavor that French toast sometimes has. The coffee was average, the bacon was done perfectly! (Most places either serve bacon too limp, which makes me want to yak, or over-done which means it's pig-flavored charcoal. Bacon must be chewy!) The place is clean, the service is fast and friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. What more could you ask?
(4)Ashley M.
I probably come here 2-3 times a month since I live 1 block from the place but their breakfast and quality of service blows away other restaurants of this variety. It's great to go to a neighborhood establishment where the food is good, the service is outstanding and they recognize you. Also, if you go early in the mornings on weekdays, they have a awesome breakfast speciail. For ~$4 you will get a full breakfast.
(5)L J.
So happy that this place is getting the great reviews that it deserves! Professional and friendly staff, super clean environment, yummy diner food. This place is not for when you want a fancy-pants breakfast to take your girlfriends for mimosas. This is a solid spot for a good ole regular breakfast, and everyone needs one of those. Thanks for being mine, CC!
(5)Allan M.
Very easily a better choice, than any IHOP location on the northwest side. I was with a friend, and suddenly remembered about the second Cozy location on Diversey while helping a friend do an errand(thanks for helping me recall the address, Google 411!). From my experience here, I'm very glad I suddenly remembered Cozy's other location, since I've always thought the south half of the NW side has a mysterious void in decent eateries. At least this is a start in the direction it should go, along with Bread Basket(one day I'll make it there...) by Belmont/Cicero. And if you're lucky enough to wake up before 9am, they have super-cheap breakfast specials for (I believe) $3.49. Be advised if you're driving out to this location(and I could see that, it is the less crowded sister location of the 2!), their strip mall lot often fills up. If that happens, look for a space in the residential blocks north of here. Don't park in the residential blocks south of here, (edit) most of those blocks have 24/7 permit parking.

Yes, 5 stars for a diner in Logan Square. The first time I visited this place was in 2007, then vanished until this past week. The $11.29 8 ounce NY Strip Steak is restaurant grade (wished the waitress ask me what temperature I wanted it) and my wife's Chorizo Pineapple skillet was something to die for. She had it for the past 2 days now and I just got done eating her leftovers. She thought the Nutella crepes with banannas was OK, but she is European and has higher standards for these types of things. I also appreciate their home made chicken noodle soup and mashed potatoes. Not a fan of their corn which is a standard veggie side.
(5)Annie W.
I'm shocked that I love this little place as much as I do. It's a clean little diner on the West side with super friendly staff. I love to sit at the counter and watch the practically all-female staff working the restaurant - it's a great example of some really excellent team-work. The food is also quite good - not your typical greasey-spoon diner crap. Very tasty!
(4)J D.
this is a nice nighborhood breakfast joint with good food and good service. I'm glad theres finally a decent diner / cafe open in my old hood of Hermosa.
(4)Ryan M.
I ate here twice with a friend I regularly meet on Thursdays at 11:30am. We had a bit of a wait-- 10 min or so each time-- not bad. The food was satisfactory considering it's modestly priced, and promptly served. The main issue here we experienced was that they were busy and both times we were asked to leave when we were finished eating so they could seat other patrons at our booth. The second time, we had only been seated for 35 minutes and our plates had just been cleared. I understand their need to turn tables over but I thought that was too quick considering we waited for our booth and to be served. That said, my friend and I will find a different place for our Thursday meetings-- somewhere we can sip our coffee and have a conversation without being pushed out.
(3)Janet W.
Fast and friendly service. Good food. Very affordable. Casual atmosphere. What else can you ask for in a breakfast diner? I missed their parking lot the first time I went and I can't remember why. But parking in this area isn't a problem - you can easily park on one of the side streets.
(5)Lyndon T.
The food was great!!!! Helpful service and good portions. Great neighborhood spot for breakfast, but it gets busy. Try the skillets!
(5)Kelly W.
I was introduced to this place by some classmates a few years ago. We went near the end of the semester after a Saturday class. I had never been there and was still getting adjusted to living in the city. Holy waffle hell! The waffle I had was soooo good. I have wanted one since I first had one almost 3 years ago. Fast forward to today. I stopped in there around 9:30am and was offered to wait for a booth or have a seat at the counter. I chose the counter. I was some of the quickest, friendliest service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. I ordered a Belgian waffle and two scrambled eggs. The waffle was good. I like my waffles a little on the crispier side, so that could have been better, but the taste was as good as I remembered. The eggs were good, and this is saying a lot because I am not a huge fan of them. I'd asked for them to be fried 'hard' and they were pleasantly cooked just right. The coffee was good too. Overall, this is a booming little spot with good food and excellent service! Oh and they have added an additional parking lot adjacent to the building off of Diversey.
