Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Their food is always delicious!! It's always consistent and service is good. I honestly think that it's very cheap taking in to consideration their great quality food and the large portion they serve. I love going to this place and I def. recommend it!

I've been here about 5 to 6 times I'd say and each time is pretty bad from the service from the waitresses to the food and pick-up. Usually we'd be poorly attended. Seems like they pay less attention if you're not a regular. Food was served very slow. Took about half an hour to get two simple tacos so they were very cold. The waitress that we got on one night was very rude and honestly made us never come back. Oh, and pick up? More like dine-in since they never wrote down my order.

A place that doesn't get too much press but is well worth it. After new management took over, the food and service got way better. Everything I've tried her is to die for and their prices are reasonable. There's a Cocula's not too far from this restaurant and their savor doesn't even compare to Cinco Estrellas. They also serve alcohol for those who are interested. Seriously, if you feel like venturing out to the south side and trying some delicious Mexican food, go there!!!

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the south side of Chicago. From the hand made tortillas to their fresh waters everything here is great. They sell beer and its a big restaurant which is great cause you usually never have to wait. Not a lot of people know about it but you won't regret trying it. 5 stars!

I gave this place a couple of visits because one visit is never enough to gauge a good feeling for it. On weekdays it's pretty dead, with just the TV's playing in the background. On weekends they seem to regularly host private parties which means service will be pretty subpar (unless of course you're a guest of the private party). You can test out the waters on your own, but there are far better Mexican Restaurants in the area.

Great service. Great food. Enchiladas are the best! I just wish they would serve a little bit more rice. Karaoke night on Friday and Sundays! I love it here! I come often.

This restaurant has very AUTHENTIC Mexican feel of a restaurant , i have been there 3 times in the last month, and loved everything! the have the cheapest and most delicious mexican breakfasts!! for like $6 you have choice of eggs! (not even at mickie D's you get something like that) with handmade corn tortillas (although they also have flour tortillas if you like your breakfast more Tex-Mex style) I highly recommend this place for steaks ( and fish too!) everything is delicious. And if you are the kind of person who likes to be entertained while you dine, theres DJ, live music and dancing on weekends (they also have a jukebox) This place is awesome, this is the place I go for my Mexican food fix ;)

I'm visiting from Los Angeles and my aunt brought my siblings and I here. The food was great! I had the Arrachera a la Tampiqueña, an enchilada with Mole, chips and guacamole... ALL had wonderful flavor. I had a Tequila Sunrise and it was prepared perfectly. I loved the atmosphere and service--very friendly and accommodating. If you want great REAL Mexican food, this is the place for you.
