So far, I think this is my favorite thin crust pizza. They have unique pizzas too, apparently the Jack Daniels one is amazing, but I didn't try it, I'm partial to pepperoni. Additionally, their ranch dressing is made in house.

Dude, so good. Dance with el Diablo grand slam pizza was awesome. I got it medium on the spicy level and it was extremely spicy so beware!! But spicy is gooooood. And the garlic knots= perfection. Fast delivery!

Great ny style pizza. Get the mac and cheese pizza, it is actually quite good. I just got a slice this first time to test it out but we will order it next time in a pizza. It was that good. Only issue was it took 1 hour and 25 minutes to be delivered.

Soooooo disapointed... We chose this place because of the great yelp reviews. We ordered a salad and a few slices of pizza, including the well reviewed mac and cheese pizza. The pizza was bland and we had to add garlic salt. The pizza was also burned. The greek salad was actually ok, but how do you mess up a salad? The price was decent, but we could have gotten dominos for this price. And to top it all off, there was a weird noodle stuck to my pizza. I hear subway makes pizza now. May be better.

Wow, the Yelp filter has been working overtime on this place. Fifteen reviews written and ten filtered...and maybe at least two more that should be. It takes balls to open a place just like Ian's less than half a mile up Clark Street FROM Ian's (or Dimo's as it is now called) but it takes even bigger balls to take them on head-to-head on their most famous item. Big G's advertises the best mac and cheese pizza in Chicago. Like, out of the two shops who now sell it? It's a battle royale. My contempt for this particular pizza topping is on the record, but otherwise I can get down with pizza toppings based on other popular foods. However, you can't succeed based strictly on a gimmick: the product still has to perform, which Big G's mostly does. First and foremost, Brandon A. is absolutely right--Big G's crust is probably the best around. I first had a pepperoni and mushroom triangle (walking home from Wrigley Field after my Phillies whaled on the Cubs 9-2 a couple of weeks back--boo yah) and was impressed by the superb crust and nice balance of the slice. My wife and I were disappointed that out of nine varieties either on the counter or coming out of the oven soon, there were no vegetable options. Technically two of the pizzas were vegetarian (based on pasta dishes) but we prefer vegetarian options with actual, you know, vegetables. That selection was improved on the occasion of my second visit, when they had a spinach/tomato/feta, and a mushroom/red pepper/feta. I enjoyed a slice of the latter, plus a slice of the barbecue pulled pork. The employee on duty (maybe an owner or manager?) offered to bake any type of pie that we wanted if we were willing to wait ten minutes. That was pretty cool. They were also sampling little squares outside on the sidewalk--mac and cheese and barbecue chicken, the latter of which I did nibble (for the sake of research). So overall I've tried four varieties and they were all very good. I particularly liked the mushroom/pepperoni and the mushroom/red pepper/feta, with the pulled pork and barbecue chicken coming in around the B/B+ range. So I'm going to give them a 3.5 because they do a better crust than Dimo's but overall I prefer the incumbent to the upstart on a couple of minor points such as variety of available slices and comfort of the dining area. But the service is good at Big G's and they are obviously trying to build customer relationships and carve out a healthy market share. So give them a try. When they reach 1000 likes on Facebook or 50 Yelp reviews, they will offer a $2 slice special to all customers. But I'm not sure if that is total reviews or unfiltered reviews, so 0/1 QMHs stay away.

Decent guys in a great location serving good food at a reasonable price. NY style. Had the Jack Daniels (pulled pork, fried onion straws, BBQ sauce and cheese). I'm not a MacNCheese pizza fan so I look forward to just regular Cheese Only pizza slice next time. What I love: the owner figured I would be offended by the verbiage in the music so he switched it without my asking or prompting. At that point, I could have honestly cared less but appreciate the effort all the same. Looking forward to going back. Told them about the Bike Benefits discount card for Bikers and the information was eagerily taken down so I hope they're able to offer something for bikers. I can't believe they are RIGHT ACROSS FROM WRIGLEY!! I hope the baseball season pays off for them. CHASE ATM across the street.

So I have to update my review because I am a stickler for customer service and Big G's KILLS IT in that category. 2 things I love- good pizza and good customer service. From Big G's I got both. After writing my last review the manager contacted me saying he wanted to make my experience better. Two days later, I received coupon for a free "1-20in pizza" with a waived delivery fee. (I have no idea what a 1in pizza is..sounds depressing..just saying). Anyways, the pizza that showed up at my door 45 minutes later was AMAZING! Floppy foldable slices that were perfectly greasy and tasted delicious. The pizza was fresh and hot when it came to my door. NOTHING like the first time I ordered Big G's. The crust was delicious, not flat, but puffy with a great taste to it. Not bland at all. All in all, Big G's really redeemed itself for me and I will definitely be ordering from them again. Even though my 20in pizza was free this time, they are usually really cheap anyways so I am excited for the weekend when I can break my diet and order Big G's again! Great customer service. If you are unsatisfied with anything I would really suggest talking to the management, they will do whatever they can to please their customers, which always deserves 5 stars in my book. The hospitality was off the hook! The Owners were cooking and serving us, and they really were awesome! The Mac and Cheese pizza really is one of the best pieces of pizza I have ever eaten what else can be said! Marvelous!

Thing crust is usually all the same, overpriced and tasteless not this stuff. The price was pretty good-about $3 for a slice, the slices were loaded in cheese and tomato sauce and it felt fresh and had a lot of flavor. They also have a lot of unique toppings which are original and make otherwise boring pizza exciting and different. A must do and they have boardgames and lots of good indoor seating for a group which I thought was great. One of the few places in that area also your kid can sit in and not be belched on by a fratty drunk 27 year old.

I can't get over the dough that they use for their pizza - it is ridiculously soft/light and really makes their pizza taste great right off the bat. Their pizza also has the perfect amount of sauce/cheese with a variety of different topping options. You can buy multiple slices or order a full pie (online ordering offered through Grubhub) and they are 20 times better than dimo's down the street for two reasons: 1. their pizza tastes better, and 2. their service is better. This is also a great place to pop into if you're next door at Smartbar and craving a quick bite - their slices are served up way faster than dimo's too. Super fast delivery.

So, the boyfriend and I got a groupon for the place - never been, never heard of it. But we love pizza! We ended up getting the Philly Cheese steak pizza with the Caesar salad. The Pizza was DELICIOUS. We loved it. The crust was soft and crispy, the ingredients just melted in your mouth..... the salad, well, was a salad, but hey, it came with the groupon so whatever.... So why am I giving it two stars you ask....? So the place was BYOB. We decided to pick up some whiskey and coke, and both of us ended up downing a fifth of whiskey while we were there.... Needless to say, I got sick on the ride home - did I mention it was like 4PM on a Saturday? I'm sorry to fellow CTA riders.... I did the deed. So, I was convinced, yeah, I drank too much. Little 5'2" me doesn't know when to stop while I'm ahead.... Turns out, the boyfriend ended up getting sick later. As in, like 8 hours later after we had left the place and sobered up for the night, fully hydrated, etc.... He started getting warm, had a terrible headache, had to go to the bathroom about 23894723 times, and still woke up in the middle of the night to puke. We're convinced I lucked out by getting too drunk and puking it up ahead of time.... IT SUCKS BECAUSE IT WAS SO DAMN DELICIOUS....I want to give it a good review - but CANT.

Groupon brought me here, and I'm not leaving! For all New York style pizza, I am coming here. They have an interesting/creative menu that includes macaroni & cheese pizza, BBQ pork pizza and others. If you happen to be directly next to Wrigley Field, are jonesing for some Dimo's Pizza, and can't see yourself making the 3 - 4 minute walk to Dimo's, then you might be one of the only people with a legitimate reason to go to Big G's. This place is a carbon copy of Dimo's, right down to the types of slices and the crust. Even if they have been around for a long time and didn't directly copy the concept, it's an idiotic move to put your eatery so close to an already-established place which is so similar to your concept that the differences can be listed on one hand (that difference? Dimo's offers consistent quality, whereas Big G's is sometimes sub-par). They only get that second star because their carbon copy imitations of Dimo's pizza are actually very spot-on. Seriously, if you're looking for a copy of a great pizza place and you happen to be at Clark and Waveland, then stop by. If, however, you have a soul, then you will probably choose Dimo's.

Big G's is AWESOME! The pizza is creative and beyond delicious. There are so many different, fun pizza topping combos (like Jack Daniels pulled pork, Mac N Cheese...), and I can't wait to try them all. I will usually get a salad with my pizza, and the salads are always so fresh. All the ingredients in the salad options go really well together, my personal favorite being the Mixed Greens. This place also totally kills it with the tunes. They are always playing great music that makes me want to dance when I walk in. Not to mention the staff is always super friendly and attentive.

I think Big G's might be the best thing to happen to this section of Clark Street since... well... it's been a while since anything this good happened to this particular section of Clark Street (sorry, Cubbies). My mac 'n cheese pizza addiction is nearing catastrophic (for my wallet and my waistline) levels, but I just... can't... stop... If you've ever had it before, then you know how good it can be, and at Big G's it's the best. If you haven't had it before, take the plunge into mac-y 'n cheese-y goodness, and you won't regret it. You might even join me outside on the sidewalk when they haven't opened yet, with the pizza-withdrawal shakes, dreaming of globs of orange cheese, perfectly tender macaroni, and a just-thin-enough crust that creeps into your mind like the memories of a lost lover. Think I'm being melodramatic. Huh-uh, this is love, and it's for real. They have a ton of other specialty pizza slices, too, but when I find a good thing, I don't need to stray. It doesn't hurt that everyone behind the counter is friendly, helpful, and just all-around awesome. It also doesn't hurt that it's right across the street from my office. Before/after a Cubs game, after a long day or a long nap, a bad break-up, whatever is kicking you in the gonads today, I promise you that Big G's will pick you up, fill your belly and lift your heart. Been back many times...for a "non-traditional" slice in Chicago, this is the place to go. Highly recommend the Savage and the Jack Daniels Pulled Pork ... ohhh man... drool-worthy. Some pizzas have been just OK (the Chicken Parmesan for example), but the crust is freakin' amazing on all of them. Word to the wise -- when they say the "Dance with El Diablo" is hot, they ain't joking. I love spicy food, and this was CRAZY spicy (they pile on the habaneros, seeds and all). Plus, everyone who works there is super awesome and friendly, which is always a good thing. Definitely earned that 4th star...

Normally not bad but a bit disappointed recently. Had a groupon for the fab 5 pizza and garlic knots. Ordered carry out, mentioned the groupon, and they were really nice over the phone. They didn't even charge tax. My philly cheesesteak pizza was ok, but realized that there was no cheese on it. Good flavor, good meat, but needed less ranch and have cheese! The garlic knots that were part of the groupon were terrible, and the marinara dipping sauce was half frozen. I think this place can do better and will likely grab a slice sometime if I'm walking by, just make sure to order a pizza with cheese on it.

Finally a Pizza by the slice place near my house for the rare occasion I'm not in the mood for Pequod's incredible deep dish. $2.50 for a slice of cheese and $2.75 for pepperoni is perfectly reasonable, if not cheap in a neighborhood that is known for jacking up prices and cutting their deals when the losers in blue are in town. Cheers to that. It's good too, which is important for a 4-star review. I have a slight reservation for pizza that sits in a window under a lamp for an hour, just to be tossed back into the oven, but once the slice was in my possession, I couldn't tell the difference, and this is the same approach every place around uses (and many of them charge well over $3 per slice) And about the owner, this is a class act guy. You can tell he's here for the long haul, trying to make a go at this neighborhood. He's supportive of the other businesses, the local music, and the neighbors. He's trying to win over Wrigley one fan at a time, and I dig this approach. He's grateful for each slice you buy and each time you come in. So I'll come back often. Good luck Big G!

One thing we can all agree on- Chicago has great pizza. Everywhere I turn, pizza- deep dish, stuffed pizza. However, I think that there is an overwhelming LACK of good NY style, pizza by the slice. With this in mind, Big G's was a very welcome additional to my neighborhood! Upon entrance, we were kindly greeted and given an overview of how Big G's works (pizza by the slice, you can order the whole pie, but that requires a wait). They also incorporated a roulette wheel upon checkout for some savings- sadly, we weren't winners. I indulged in their savage slice, which is basically a chicken, bacon and ranch slice. It was amazing! I definitely savored every bite, because with my discipline I managed to only order one slice. I also got a salad, which was pretty jam packed with veggies. My guy ordered their mac and cheese (yum) and philly cheese steak. I didn't try the Philly, but he seemed to enjoy it. We ordered soda and water, but I believe they are BYOB. Overall, I like my somewhat ill-conceived notion that I am getting skinnier while still indulging... I walk there, I only order ONE slice of THIN crust pizza, and then I walk home. If only we could all have such an easy and satisfying diet plan ;-)

Walked in with my Mets t-shirt and was as happily greeted as if I was back in the Big Apple. Not a bad introduction. The pizza here reminds me very much of the pizza of my NewYorkian roots. Foldable, cheesy with a sauce that's tangy, not tinny. I haven't tried the mac and cheese pizza, but I can vouch for the pepperoni being some really good stuff.

I came in here for lunch one day with a large group of people. The guy at the counter was very nice and answered everyone's repetitive questions. I appreciated the large selection and interesting options. I got, if I remember correctly, chicken alfredo pizza. I think that one slice was a week's worth of calories. It was alright, but I wished I had chosen something else instead. My group seemed split, some people loved what they got and other's felt the same as I did. Still, nothing was bad and I would go back again.

Seriously BBQ steak and French fry pizza, and apple pie pizza. I can't wait to try the other types of pizza they have. Couldnt tell you if the food is any good here or not because I've been trying to order from them for 3 months now and the first 4 times I tried they werent open even though their website hours said they should be. I finally got someone one the phone today and wanted to use the Groupon that I had bought but was told they would not accept it. They have already been paid for the groupon but wont accept it. I recommend going to Dimo's which is just down the street on Clark and has amazing pizza.

Ordered the chicken burrito pizza, got a call that they were out of that kind. So we picked an option they gave us. It was some sort of chicken quesadilla. Do not order this pizza. It was gross. It was basically just dry crust with a little chicken. Very disappointing especially for Super Bowl Sunday.

Since moving here from NYC a few months ago, my husband and I have been on the look out for a some what comparable (by Chicago standards) pizza. We had a groupon for this place which was going to expire at the end of this month so went to Big G's for lunch today and got a large pizza. Half of it was the BBQ Chicken Bacon and the other half was the Jack Daniels BBQ Pulled Pork. The flavors were very very good but the crust on the pizza was very uneaven and that totally ruined the pizza for us. In some places it was nice and crispy and thin and in other parts the pizza was all doughy and just totally inedible. I had to throw out a LOT of dough and just pick off the toppings. I'm hoping that our experience was just a one off fluke due to all the amazing reviews I have read. We would probably be willing to come back and try the pizza's here again although I would probably come back with another groupon as I couldn't imagine paying full price for the pizza's here. The one thing that I must say is that the staff here was very friendly and hospitable. For that I would give them a 5/5!

i stumbled upon Big G's and I'm glad i did. its one of those places that sell pizza by the slice, but they have way interesting and numerous choices. i knew immediately i wanted to try what they call the savage, i have seen it labeled as bbq chicken bacon ranch. I was very happy to discover that their version is spot on. i have been back three days in a row. the third time i ordered a full pizza, of course savage, and it was ready in LESS than fifteen minutes, and they "hooked it up" , aka you look at it and its fully loaded , and looks and tastes amazing. this type of place is typically ruined by high prices, but this place charges very agreeable prices. try it. the savage.

I was a skeptic of this place when it was being built. Claiming to be the best mac 'n cheese pizza in Chicago before it was even opened seemed a bit pretentious. But, I had to try it, as it's in the neighborhood, and hell...it's New York-style pizza, which I love but can only truly get in NYC or Jersey (Though, Pizzaco's is very close). This place nails the most important part of New York-style pizza - the crust. It has a crunch and a good chew to it, that I haven't had anywhere else in Chicago. So with that strong base, this place goes crazy. Honest and truly, the mac 'n cheese pizza is the best I've ever had. I smother it in hot sauce to give it a kick. The fun flavor combinations (cheeseburger and bacon, Philly cheesesteak, etc.) are great as well. That's what puts this place head and shoulders above the rest. A funky pizza place with crazy topping combinations and an amazing, authentic, NY-style crust.

I've been to pretty much every place I know that is structured like Big G's: Ian's, Mesa, and DImo's (formerly Ian's). All these pizza places do a great job with specialty slices that have menu options like Mac & Cheese, Steak and Fries, or Chicken Black Bean Burrito. Overall, if you're a fan of Ian's, Mesa, or Dimo's, you will like this place too. If none of these ring a bell, the odd-ball ingredients make it worth a shot. They advertise as having the best Mac & Cheese pizza in Chicago. I would agree and say theirs is better than the places listed above, which is no slight on them. I think it's mainly the cheese. It may be of a higher quality or they may use more of it. I just noticed that the cheese was more flavorful on all of G's pizzas. My favorite Individual slice was the Sloppy Joe, followed by the Mac & Cheese, and then the Jack Daniels BBQ pulled pork. As a side note, I generally don't like BBQ pizzas (chicken or pork). They definitely have vegetarian options and I believe vegan as well. I have friends who have brought their slices into Wrigley before. Not many people know you can bring food into the bleachers (not sure about the rest of the stadium).

With over 35+ different pizzas to choose from, Big G's will have the right slice for you. I came here with friends after a long pub crawl night. Their Mac'n'Cheese Pizza and Jack Daniel's BBQ pizza are the best. They even have vegetarian pizzas and brownies! Craving pizza or a random treat? Stop by Big G's; you won't be disappointed. This restaurant is also a BYOB establishment, which for me gives this place two thumbs up!

Disclaimer: I'm not into trying what I would call "weird" pizza. For instance their "Mac N' Cheese" pizza is something that sounds disgusting to me and I'd never try. So with that out of the way I went to Big G's solely for a slice of pepperoni or sausage. I saw two pieces of pepperoni that looked like they'd been sitting out for a while, but gave it a try. The gentleman threw it in the oven, which made it crispy and seem fresh again. It was decent pizza. For those like me going for just cheese, pepperoni, or sausage there is nothing groundbreaking here. It is a good price, but I honestly think Bacci is better, although they're close in quality. At Bacci I could get a giant slice for $5 and a pop. At Big G's I would definitely need two slices, for a total of $5.50 and wouldn't get a drink. It would be a little more pizza than one slice of Bacci, but not by much. I'm not ragging on the place, but for those who like me just want normal pizza then there are better options, but they probably won't be as cheap as Big G's.

Big G's is by far the best pizza joint in wrigley. Better than Dimo's and Bacci's combined. If you are a fan of crispy yet chewy pizza, Big G's is the right place for you. The staff is friendly and helpful and the pizzas are fresh. Savage and the Mac and Cheese can't be beat!

Please do not see this one star and think that I am knocking the food, because I haven't tried it yet.....which is part of the problem. I called two days ago to place and order and no one ever picked up and the voicemail stated nothing out of the ordinary so I tried calling back and never got a hold of anyone so I moved on to another establishment. I gave them another chance and called last night to place an order, again no answer. So I decided to drive over there and pick up a pizza. Sign on the door says - closed for the week. First off, seems odd to close a pizza place for a whole week. Secondly, how could you possibly not state this on your voicemail?!?!?! I basically drove over there and got nothing - I feel like I am jumping through hoops just to try this pizza....which I won't be doing anymore. I have given up on going there, it's too bad - pizzas look good.

It's around the corner and perfect for late night pizza. I haven't seen it overly crowded like you would Dimos or the other late night spots, which is a huge plus for me. pizza is also very good.

The Mac n Cheese pizza is good, but get your taste buds ready for the Jack Daniels BBQ Pulled Pork (BBQ Pulled Pork, Fried Onions and Cheddar) and The Savage (BBQ Chicken, Bacon, Cheddar, Ranch) pizzas. So freakin tasty. I'll without a doubt have more of both before I die. I've also had the one with french fries and will not be having it again. It was average at best and doesn't come close to the mouth watering goodness of the other two I've mentioned. The crust is awesome no matter which one you get. In a word...nummers.

After a guys night out in Wrigleyville I stopped in for a slice. I was pleasantly suprised!! Crust was crispy yet chewy and the toppings were fresh! Cubs game or not, I will be stopping in next time I'm in Wrigleyville!!!

Okay here's the thing . I moved all the way here from Philadelphia and had been missing my cheesesteaks like crazy (Jim's on South Street in particular). I refuse to eat one elsewhere. It would just be a disappointment. Anyway one not so sober evening I decided to give Big G's Philly Cheesesteak Pizza a chance. My friend and co worker suggested we get it. It was quick and cheap so I expected some bland pizza with taco bell meat on it. Grabbed some honey, hot sauce and parmesan to drizzle on there and sat down. WOW. The hazy clouds parted ways and the angels sang from above in that first bite. We giggled with the employees and enjoyed every minute. I have been a frequent customer ever since!

I was a huge Ian's fan as far as "specialty, value slices in Wrigley" were concerned, but after I tried Big G's and those bold flavors rocked my world, I'M NEVER TURNING BACK. I visited this place and came away wanting more. They have a delicious diverse menu and you can even get salads. The pizza is very good and you can try a different variation every week. My favorites are the savage, nachos, and mac & cheese. Can't go wrong with the prices as they are very reasonable.

I just woke up from a 3 1/2 hour nap. I was hungry even before I slept off all of those calories. A call from a friend got me mobile and being mobile made me realize that I should probably try something new at 10:21 p.m. on a rainy Thursday. The newly opened Big G's was that place. I stepped into what seemed like a carbon copy of Dimo's (formerly known as Ian's) minus the magic of Ian's. The magic of Ian's was the array of "oh yeah, we went there with pizza" flavors mixed in with in the silly atmosphere of drunk Cubs fans, high Lakeview residents, and what-could-have-been instances of Chicago (mainly Cubs) history if only Ian's were there. God knows what will happen to Chicago now that it's gone and it can't prevent future dilemmas. God knows what will happen to this twin of Diman's (Dimo's + Ian's). For those that aren't loyal to Ima's, this place will give you an extended variety of what you are used to without having to worry about trying to adjust to a new kind of crust. It has plenty of volume for dipping or for just good ol' fashioned white bread chewing, like mom and pop used to do. I got the Jack Daniels BBQ pulled pork with crispy onions and cheddar cheese, which fit in perfectly with graduation season. If I don't get pulled pork around this time the world just doesn't feel right. Now that I'm graduated, I might as well start getting as many things as I can with alcohol mixed in. I may need it. Of course, I didn't need any additional alcohol with this piece of pie. It was reheated well and seemed to be a legitimate enough reason for an elderly woman to come get over and over again (this story was told to me by the pizza man behind the counter). After scoping out the other slices, I don't know if I would have gotten anything besides the BBQ pulled pork. It looked the freshest, but not by much. I'm sure it's better at other times than 10:21 on a rainy Thursday. I was inspired to demolish my slice as much as the OKC Thunder were demolishing the San Antonio Spurs on Big G's one flat screen. It made me wonder if the Big G underdogs were going to mount a similar rise in the Wrigleyville against the veteran Ianmo's. Since most of the clientele are likely to be some form of inebriated, I can see some well placed marketing bring this place up in the ranks. They may have to change their name to really put themselves up there though. Just like the former Seattle Supersonics.

Love, love, love their pizza. Their red sauce is very good, and I don't like sauce on pizza very often. Their mac and cheese pizza is also fantastic. They are always very friendly when we come in, and even joke with us about our IU clothes, since one of them went to another big ten school. We have done both carryout and delivery and have been happy every time. It is so nice that they will deliver slices, since sometimes you don't need a whole pizza. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

On my recent trip to Chicago, I had the pleasure of stopping in at Big G's Pizza for a quick bite. When we walked in, the amazing smell of fresh baking pizza is the first thing that over takes you. Once you get to the glass case full of amazing looking pies, the sky is the limit. While my companions saddled up to the wonderful meat topped pizza selections, I opted for the amazing macaroni and cheese topped pizza. Perfectly melty, delightfully crisp crust, and perfect sized to be full from one slice but not uncomfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, offering a joke and smile as we placed our orders and paid out. The parlor was clean and neat, lots of seating, and there was no wait at all when we walked in around 9:30pm. We were heading to a show nearby at the Metro, however, so we got to see all the craziness that happens after midnight at Big G's Pizza as we waited for a cab. The establishment is BYOB, which was awesome, so be sure to bring your favorite adult beverage to enjoy with some amazing pizza.

What a great experience! We are from out of town and came to Big G's based on reviews from yelp and we are so happy we did! Not only was the pizza phenomenal (chicken alfredo penne), but the owner was so nice and friendly we felt like we were sitting down to chat with an old friend! Great place! To this day I thought we only had 2 options for sliced pizza in the wrigleyville area until I was told about this little gem by my pizza loving friend. I had their Thanksgiving pizza. The name says it all. It was topped with stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, and turkey. The coolest part was that they donated proceeds from this pizza to the local food bank! I thought that that was really going with the holiday spirit and a way to give back to the Lakeviee community. The fact that they have great pizza and is not that crowded makes me really like this place. I'm in and out with my pizza on a late Friday night without being surrounded by drunkards.

Love the understated elegance of this place. Sure, an interior decorator didn't design the place but come on, it's a pizza joint. Went there for the first time right after they opened while going to a cub game. Mac & cheese pizza for my son, Jack Daniels BBQ for me, pepperoni for my daughter, and a Philly Cheesesteak for the husband. All were amazing. Told the guy I found the place on Yelp. He asked where we were from, you know, small talk. Fast forward to over a year later when we went back again for another visit. The guy remembered us and that we were from Wisconsin! Great memory. He even made us a special order of garlic knots (this was before it was on the menu and they had been letting people sample them). We've been back a couple more times to get take out, just because we were near the area. One time we weren't even hungry but we knew we'd eat it all anyway. This is my favorite place to eat in Chicago besides Chinatown. :-) Keep killing it Big G's and we'll try to get there as often as we can.

The group was looking for a post-game bite to eat. When we first walked in, I didn't quite understand the depth of the menu and ordered a slice of something that was on display. Little did I know there was so much more! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger slice. This is one of those places that takes your (large) slice of pizza and throws it in the oven to "freshen it up". Well, let me tell you that process WORKS. The pizza was fresh and tasty. In hindsight, I should have just gotten the slice of "Mac N' Cheese", which they tout as "the greatest". But I was happy with my selection, and it hit the spot just right. The price was reasonable and it did the job.

Mac and cheese disgusts me, but spread it out on a NY style pizza crust and I will have it any time of any day. The mac and cheese pizza is amazing and I prefer it signficantly over Dimo's. The macaroni is a perfect softness and texture while the cheese's taste and ooey-gooeyness is wonderful. Other pizzas I've had from here is the pepperoni...amazing as well. Thank goodness for both a northside and southside location!

Adequate at best, I would recommend to only get slices here so you can try the different creations. Parking is incredibly difficult here for pickups, I would highly recommend delivery! Great place for a late night slice when taste buds are at a high!

Big G's itself gets 4 stars--delivery service gets 0. Let me elaborate: I ordered a pizza last night (3/23/15) and had it delivered. I specifically asked the person on the phone to tell the delivery guy NOT to buzz up to my apt, but to just give me a call/text (buzzer freaks out my dog). Well, the pizza arrived in the time frame they said it would, but the dude buzzes up. I go meet him in the stairwell, and the pizza box is ice cold. To their credit, I called Big G's and explained the situation. I mean, I know it's cold outside, but the pizza shouldn't be THAT cold. They offered me a $10 credit and explained that they had told the delivery person not to buzz. I've never heard of a pizza place farming out its deliveries, but maybe you might want to reconsider that. The pizza itself--once it was warmed up--was delicious though.

Visited Big G's for the first time around midnight on a Sunday after having a few drinks at Guthrie's. This is a great alternative to Dimo's (and better than Dags in my opinion) if, like me, you need a break after being there the past two times and a) an all-dudes kickball team screams 90s hits at the top of their lungs and b) random dudes coming up to you and rapping and stealing hats (it's not you, Dimo's; it's me). Here's what I thought: Interior: 3 stars. Interior reminded me of a cover operation. I will also acknowledge that I was the weirdo random person who was not drunk enough to be wandering into a pizza place post-midnight on a Monday morning. You don't go here for the atmosphere. Pizza: 4 for initial appearance; 4.5 for taste. Initially, the pizza looked cold and weird in the case, but I was buzzed, cold, and hungry enough to go for the Macaroni pizza.. It was very filling and warm. Perfect for when you want something heavy and delicious followed up by passing out for the night or a looong nap. Service: 5 stars. Only my friend and I were there. It was super fast. Workers were nice but brief, which I like. I will go again for sure, and it may become my go-to in the neighborhood.

We've all been there: it's late, you're hungry, restaurants (at least the ones where you want to eat) are closed. No fear, Big G's leaves the light on for you into the wee hours! It's almost become a ritual for me to stop into Big G's after going to shows at the Metro. There are so many positives to this place besides being open late. Firstly, they offer a lot of creative toppings that appeal to the...ehem...late night crowd, like mac and cheese, buffalo chicken and bleu cheese, and bbq steak and fries. Secondly, they offer their pizza by the slice, so you try a few different styles and share with your friends. Thirdly, they are BYOB, which is so convenient for it's location in Wrigleyville. Finally, the staff here is always friendly and patient. Yup, there's no shame in the late night pizza game, especially when a place like Big G's does it right!

After having been introduced to them at a yelp event and finding out they have macaroni and cheese pizza, my two favorite things together. I had to go try this place out, and I was not disappointed. Although I was specifically looking for the macaroni and cheese pizza I was pleasantly surprised by the unique and diverse types and flavors of pizza they have. This place has got to be the best pizza place as far as unique combinations of pizza and they do them justice because they are delicious. While there I tried the savage as well as my macaroni and cheese slice and they definitely hit the spot. I was disappointed that I couldn't try more but I was too full after that. They also change up one or two of their pizzas to go along with the seasons and events in that area. I can't wait to go back and try some more of their great pizza.

On my first trip to Chicago I wanted to see Wrigley Field and get some Chicago pizza. Although this place didn't have the traditional deep-dish pizza I was looking for, I was not at all disappointed by the creative and diverse variety of specialty pizza that was ready to eat immediately. I got a slice of Jack Daniel's pizza and slice of the buffalo chicken. The Jack Daniel's had onion rings on top of it and sweet and savory. The buffalo chicken had nice chunks of pizza with a custom wing sauce on it that was everything I could want from a buffalo chicken pizza. The crust was a nice thickness and had seasonings in it as well, so it made the perfect base for these creative pizza pies. Will make it a point to revisit this joint when I actually make it into Wrigley for a game. I wish they sold beer here, but I think you can BYOB.

OK pizza...ordered the Latin Lover which was quite tasty but a little doughy. Ordering online was seamless. Delivery was 45 minutes. Side note: whenever I order pizza, I crank up the oven to 500 so I can crisp up my slices upon arrival. This way it doesn't matter if delivery is late, pizza cold etc because you're ready and prepared.

Really, really good pizza. With the recent demise of my beloved City Pizza, this is now my go-to spot for thin crust in Chicago. The crust was perfectly done - golden-brown and fold-able with a slightly chewy texture. The toppings were excellent - we had the sausage/pepperoni/veggie pizza - generous and fresh. The sauce was good, if a little pedestrian. The Garlic Knots were perfectly seasoned. I only had two small complaints. First, the prices were a little on the high side ($4+ for 3 garlic knots??), but you can still easily feed 4-5 people for $30-35. Second was customer service. The cashier charged me $2 for a $1.50 soda and slipped the $0.50 into the tip jar when my back was turned. Yeah, I probably would have done it anyway, but I would have at least liked to have the option of doing so. All in all, we will be back the next time we crave thin crust. It's conveniently located a short walk away from the Red Line and/or the 22 bus.

My husband and son have been here twice and both of our experiences were great. The second time we came, we had our friends along and we had fun playing The Battle of the Sexes game (which they provide there, along with other games); that made waiting 15 min for a slice of pizza being made easier! I love the fact that you don't have to buy a whole pizza but you're able to try out new and exciting pizzas like the Mac and Cheese by the slice. My all time favorites is the BBQ steak and fries and the chicken Alfredo pizza (it's called a different name I believe). I also tried the Latin Lover, sloppy joe, burrito, and the buffalo chicken pizza. The only thing we didn't care for was the brownie.... it said it was a 40 year recipe which tasted like it was described. All in all, we love that place and will be back to try some more!

When I come back late from a show and am hungry, but nothing is open, Big G's is there to save the day. Their wide variety of creative and tasty pizzas is the perfect fix. I just moved away from the neighborhood and will miss them, though I'm sure I'll stop by after a Metro show again.

This place is rock solid. In a city full of deep-dish and specialty pizzas, it was refreshing to find a reliable plain cheese pizza that would make the Ninja Turtles proud. I look forward to trying some of their toppings too, though. Our wings were fantastic. We did the Frank's Red Hot and the Jack Daniels' Honey BBQ. Both sauces were perfect and the meat was practically falling off the bone. We left nothing behind and with little effort. It's worth noting that the wings tasted (and looked) like they were cooked using more than just a traditional fryer. Hard to describe, delicious nonetheless. Cowabunga.

Great novelty slices that are affordable. People need to stop complaining about card minimums--if you're in a big city, bring cash with you (or shut up and buy a soda).

As a NY area transplant of 6 months, I have had a hard time adjusting to the deep dish pizza thing and what Chicagoans refer to as regular pizza. Even the thin crust around here is slathered in cheese and not so thin. As luck would have it, went to Big G's last night for a networking event and had a chance to eat 5 different slices (what a concept a SLICE!) of pizza with a variety of toppings. To say I was a happy boy would be an understatement. A nice crust, just the right amount of toppings and everything made in house so it was nice and fresh. We had (in no particular order) The Savage - with BBQ chicken, bacon and ranch. Salty, sweet and delicious! The Jack Daniel Pulled Pork Pizza - with fried onions and said pork. Also excellent but one of those "you can probably only eat a slice or two before you are stuffed" The Mac & Cheese - by far the best one. Not too heavy, crust was crispy so it held the pasta up nicely. Seemed to have a layer of ricotta under there? Not sure but my favorite of the bunch (and they were all excellent) The Venus - (Spinach, Feta and Tomato Pie) I know, I thought this one was going to be odd but it turned out to be my second favorite. Again, the tang of the cheese nicely balanced by the sauce and just the right amount of spinach (you know - enough to feel like you ate healthy but not too much where you fee like you ordered a veggie pizza) A Mystery Pizza - It is not currently on the menu but it too was delicious. Flank steak, nacho chips, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and sour cream. Basically a Taco Pizza! We had one of these back in NJ and it was awesome. Was so sad to not find it out here but now it looks like we have. I know, I know, you may think I'm nuts raving about pizza as much as I am but I've really been missing NYC pizza since we moved out here last year and now it looks like we've got it. Thanks Big G's! We will definitely be back!

So, there was a second great schism, and this time is was not Christianity splitting in two, but the former Ian's Pizza, which was really great. Ian's became Dimo's and Big G's opened up Clark St. And life went on. Except I didn't realize Big G's was part of the equation. I just read "Ian's is now Dimo's" and ran with it. However, Dimo's just wasn't as good. The people weren't as friendly and delivery times soared. Gave Big G's a try one night and haven't looked back. Great people, the salads are way better than you'd expect, and they have the chewy, tasty crust I'd been missing. Michael's in Uptown is my favorite, but this is a close second and a great change of pace.

My husband and I were strolling through Lakeview on a cloudy day hoping to find a place for a slice of pizza when we ran into Big G's. I'm really glad we decided to walk down that particular stretch of Clark because the pizza at Big G's was delicious. I had a slice of Chicken Cordon Bleu pizza and my hubby had the Chicken bacon cheddar (it might've been called something else.) Both were delicious. I'd definitely go back again if only to try all of the other pizzas. They all looked good. It was hard to choose. The interior is small and there are a few tables. They have bar-style seating along the open windows. Pretty typical Wrigleyville layout. The place is clean and the staff were really friendly. I got the mac and cheese pizza. It was like the Luol Deng equivalent of pizza. It did a lot of things well, but you always knew there was room for improvement. Delivery guy was fast and I like that he called me Mr. Zack. Made me feel like Bubba Blue when he talks about seeing a real shrimping boat.

Ordered delivery on a groupon today and my mac n cheese pizza came quickly with a perfectly toasty bottom and squishy crust. So good. The delivery dude was nice and the guy on the phone when I ordered was great too- even suggested an awesome brownie to go with my order so that I could use a credit card. The large is huuuuge. I'm excited to eat my leftovers the rest of the weekend.

Remember when you were a kid watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Michaelangelo made those pizzas with insane toppings? Well, this place borders on that. In a good way. Just about any topping you could want is here, in both sweet and savory variations. Fancy a sloppy joe with French fries? They got that. Portabella mushrooms and roasted red peppers? They got that too. Jack Daniels BBQ with onion strings? No doubt. How about a S'mores pizza with marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate? It's here. There's enough different combinations to keep you busy for a while. Thankfully, anchovies and peanut butter or sashimi with whipped cream hasn't made the menu. Yet. I wouldn't put it past these guys to try it...

I had the opportunity to try Big G's Pizza at a Yelp event and I was BLOWN AWAY!! Wow! I heard that they had a Groupon. I bought it for $16 for a large specialty pizza and garlic knots. The pizza we got was the bbq Jack Daniels pulled pork with crunchy onions on top. It was amazing!! I can't say enough about this pizza. It was so good. The garlic knots were just okay, but the pizza was the star of the show. I will go here for pizza again. The only bad thing I have to say is that it took 90 minutes (they told us on the phone that it would take that long) for delivery. Yummy! Yummy! Order now!

Make sure you are hungry because this was absolutely the largest pizza I ever ordered in my life. We had it delivered (the 3 veggie pizza) and was bumping the sides of the box against the doorway as I brought it in to my apartment. Great, thin crust, the veggies were fresh (and I'm a huge fan of spinach on pizza) and the slices are so large they are very filling. But wait, we ordered garlic knots. Oh, the garlic knots, they are manna from heaven. Hot, covered in garlic and they come with a dipping sauce. You have your choice of marinara or ranch and I went with marinara (the thought of ranch with them makes me ill). Order them and the pizza, you will not be disappointed.

Big G's is one of my favorite pizza places in Chicago. Unfortunately, this review is about their service. I ordered a cheese pizza and garlic knots tonight. After waiting some time i buzzed the delivery man in, sadly, when I buzzed him in he responded with the words "I have the wrong order" I asked how long it would take to have the proper order returned, he said "5 minutes." after 15 minutes had passed I received a phone call from the restaurant. I was offered a "large pizza half mac n cheese half bbq chicken pizza because the place they had delivered MY PIZZA had eaten it." Does that mean they were going to pick up my pizza where they had accidentally delivered it and try to give it back to me?! Needless to say, As a vegetarian I refused and stated that I would still like my 12" cheese pizza. I was declined and then hung up on because their hours of operation were closing. Sadly, I will never order from this place again because they were unwilling to fix a mistake THEY made."

I've ordered delivery via Grub Hub twice in the last month...on the 2nd time, the delivery guy recognized me. Props to him for having a great memory. I have a tendency to order a lot of food with the intention of having left overs....sometimes, it turns into an all day graze fest, sometimes-I am far hungrier than I planned. I've had their BBQ Chicken & Bacon Pizza, the Bacon Cheddar Burger Pizza, plus most of their desserts. The crust was great and is in the hand tossed vein. It was slightly chewy with some crunch. Great taste, wasn't soggy-even with the gluttony of toppings, and provided a great foundation for the topping. The pizzas were really good. They have a wide range on their menu, from the more typical 1-3 meat + tomato sauce pizzas all the way thru more adventurous combinations. Some oddballs, salad pizza, Chicken Cordon Bleu Pizza, and Mac N Cheese Pizza. The desserts were nearly diabetic coma inducing...The SMores Ravioli make me want to move up a weight class. The Smores Pizza & The Apple Pie Pizza both will be ordered again. The biggest challenge will be only ordering one at a time. They also sell wings & salads-I haven't tried any of those. I'd like to try their pizza in store. The idea of doing a pizza sampler of 3-4 diff slices is appealing...except, I think I'd probably leave feeling sick since so many of them sound so good.

So, last night I was hibernating and taking refuge in my apartment from all that damn snow I was walking around in yesterday when I came to realize I had nothing substantial at my place for dinner. Sure, I stopped/checked in at Walgreens to get my Coke Zero and a few other essentials but no real food type items. Enter Big G's Pizza, which I had remembered from a Yelp Soiree' that I attended and I thought enough of them to get a Groupon Deal for them. And, what a deal it was! Now, I am having a love affair with groupon,, it has been good to me throughout this last year with some sweet little deals and I am most appreciative because it has saved me some bucks and I sure like that! And, I started 2014 off with another great Groupon Deal. So, my deal was a large Big G's Pizza, my choice of Cheese or Pepperoni 1 order of garlic knots with ranch or marinara for dipping purposes and this was all for the low Groupon Deal price of $11.00 minus tax and delivery. Now, I know enough about pizza to know that whenever I have ordered a large pizza before it equals about a 14 inch pie, which is more than substantial. Oh, Big G's, you put the BIG in your pizza because your large pizza equals a 20 inch pie and when I saw it I freaked out because I thought I would be looking at this pizza for the next week at least! And these were those BIG foldable New York Style slices, pretty incredible! I mean, it is just me here at home, Oh yeah, Bugonia and Trouble are here too... And, the garlic knots were incredible, still warm and soft and garlicky, and the marinara topped them off beautifully. Wish I took a pic of those garlic knots, they were truly a work of art but I pretty much devoured that order of 3 knots. And, I have to give major props to everyone at Big G's because I called at 5pm and you told me there would be a 75 minute wait/delivery time due to the snowstorm from Hades and boy, did you impress me because you came a ringing my bell right at 6:15pm Impressive indeed, Big G's, a well deserved 5 star rating for your pizza, garlic knots, and service. Thanks for bringing me out my pizza in that Nasty weather, and I did tip my driver well, he sure deserved it... I think I may be passing around my pizza leftovers to my friend Gina upstairs, I think she'll love it as much as I did..:)

After a Cinco de Derby bar crawl I obviously needed something to soak up the many Corona Lights I enjoyed and ended up at Big G's Pizza to fulfill this need. I will say that the menu on the wall there is seriously overwhelming. They'd do well for themsleves to get it organized. People love their toppings and need to know what is what! After giving up on reading the menu I started checking out the pizza they had in the display case. A gorgeous conconction that was chock full of cheese and ranch dressing caught my eye. I inquired about the pizza and learned it was their "Savage Pizza" (it can be found in the Grand Slam section of the menu). A slice loaded with grilled chicken, bacon, barbecue sauce, ranch dressing and tons of cheese. I decided I had to have this beautiful piece of pizza and got it to go with a coke. Upon arriving home I practically inhaled the piece of deliciousness. It was that good! I'd definitely recommend Big G's pizza. I now have a laundry list of things to try next time I make it back!

Sampled several different slices at a recent Yelp Elite event downtown and was pretty darn impressed. The BBQ Chicken, Sloppy Joe, & the Jack Daniels BBQ Pulled Pork were all quite tasty. The Mac N Cheese was not that impressive. Also had a slice of the Apple Pie which was a tasty finish to the meal. Definitely worth a visit.

Just had my first experience via delivery. Ordered the Chicken Parmesan twenty incher. Phone ordered, super simple- as it should be. Price was not bad at all for Chicago- $28. Delivery time also gets no complaints- about 40 mins or so. And let's be honest, anyone who ever bitches about delivery time in a city has either A. Never worked at a delivery restaurant B. Believes there is a traffic control wizard out there or C. On a power trip The pizza was fantastic. This coming from your average pizza lover with a little extra experience in the pizza business. Not dropping with grease, which was relieving. The cheese tasted like cheese and was not over nor under loaded. Sauce has a good garlicish aftertaste, and the toppings tasted fairly fresh. Overall, I would recommend this place for delivery and eats. I'm happily fed, I'm not sick, and I'm not broke.

Disclaimers: I've only ever had slice; I've only ever eaten in and I've pretty much exclusively dined on their Mac n Cheese pizza. Also I prefer Chicago-Style Deep Dish Pizza to thin and I try to avoid Wrigleyville like the plague (save Slugger's, The Metro, Uncommon Ground and this place). I offer these disclaimers because possibly all of these traits make me an atypical Big G's customer. That being said, this is my favorite by the slice pizza place in Chicago. Though I love deep dish, sometimes the New York style slice is called for and this place delivers a unique take on the old trope while still maintaining quality. The service is friendly and relaxed, relatively speedy and not too expensive. They have a lot of options (including many vegetarian friendly ones), but do yourself a favor and have the mac n cheese.

A large pizza at Big G's is a really, really large pizza, especially for two people. The crust at Big G's is probably the high point of this thin crust experience; very chewy, doughy, not a hint of overcook. We used a Groupon on a large pepperoni pie, and the pepperoni, cheese and sauce were pretty ordinary. Our order came with a small order of garlic knots, which were good but too dense for me. The marinara sauce that came with the knots was also just ok. The space is big enough for 15-20 people to eat so good space; the combo of loud music and a loud TV was kinda weird but the guy behind the counter moved fast and was friendly during our visit. If I come back, I want to try the slices, since that's where the magic seems to lie--like Dimo's, there seemed to be some creative-looking toppings behind the glass.

TL;DR version, because I don't want to harp on the negative: waited an hour, call from Eat24 -no delivery, go to pick up, food still not ready, Eat24/fax machine snafu. Crabby. The lone, frazzled employee (owner? Big G himself?) talks me into waiting, which I agree to because 20 minutes for pizza is faster than starting new somewhere else. Then the customer service kicks into high gear: I ordered a large pizza, wings, and a salad. He charged me for ONLY the wings, and upsized to an extra large pizza. No hard feelings here, then! Oh, and the pizza is really, really good. I went traditional - pepperoni, onions, and mushrooms, and all the toppings were solid. And my NYC brother-in-law, who had to wait just as long as I did, declared the thin crust fully up to snuff. The wings are fine -- grilled wings just aren't going to be as good as fried, if you ask me -- and the salad was pretty good. But the pizza's the star. Anyway, they went beyond professional and into the reaches of generosity when it came to dealing with their mistake. So I'll be back, for sure.

Awful. Ordered for delivery. At the 1:15 mark, I called to get an ETA. I was told they were busy with rushes (my order doesn't rate!?) and they normally take 80 minutes for delivery (wish I knew that when I ordered-we were hungry). 1 hour 50 minutes after ordering, pizza showed up cold, soggy and slimy. Just gross. Attempts to warm it up didn't result in any improvement, so the pizza went into the garbage and we had cereal for dinner. Never again.
