They used to have an extensive beer list in addition to offering flights. When I came in recently and asked about it, the server looked at me like I was crazy. Don't know what prompted them to make this change, but it has certainly lessened my desire to dine in. I'm strictly delivery now.

I've had stuffed/deep dish pizza from only a couple places in Chicago. Bacino's is also pretty good. I shared the Bacino's Special stuff pizza with a coworker. Sauce is excellent! I wish they put more on. Lots of cheese just like the others other there. Server was attentive and they can open their windows in the bar area to give a patio feel. Nice place.

The pizza is amazing! The best I had while in Chicago. I was worried it would be too saucy but the way they add the sauce layer on top makes it blend perfectly. This was our first time eating a stuffed pizza and we loved it! It had just the right amount of cheese, spinach, and not too much crust. We also enjoyed the intimate and charming decor. Highly recommended!

Best pizza in Chicago! Definitely try the stuffed spinach!

We were looking for an authentic deep dish and stumbled upon this on a long walk. Spinach Supreme was DIVINE!!! Highly recommend. Super nice staff too.

By far my favorite deep dish pizza in Chicago! The spinach mushroom is just so tasty. The crust is flavorful without being greasy. Earlier this year I made a reservation for a large group, and they put us in the downstairs areas which was perfect. Some of my friends actually thought I reserved the space. Plus they set up our food on the bar so it was buffet style. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Space is excellent. I will continue to go back here again and again, and bring out of towners when they visit.

People seem to think this place is great but watch out. I ordered the Pesto Pizze and Chocolate Cake. The Pesto Pizze had an almost unnoticable amount of pesto. Plus, it tasted terrible all around. The Chocolate Cake is actaully a chocolate flan. Two completely different dishes; one doesn't expect the other if they order one. The flan was okay but, nothing to write home about. All this for $20 including tip for delivery. Kind of expensive for crap.

Yeah, I could eat. It's always there when you can't figure out what you want. The pizza is so good...the cheese is very fresh. Thick or thin crust, it's all awesome! Sometimes has a terribly long wait.

The best spinach pizza I've ever eaten, plus their baked calamari is very good.

I honestly didn't think this pizza was very good and it was way too greasy! The thin crust was better looking then the thick but it just didn't taste that fresh and wasn't satisfying.

Excellent pie and friendly service. I came here with my two kids on a Saturday night and had a great time. Will definitely be back again soon. Highly recommended.

Best deep dish I've had to date. Flaky crust that held up to the yummy toppings. Highly recommended. We came in a Thursday evening and no crowd. Great find.

My husband and I love this place. We never understand why there aren't very busy when we go there but they are always so nice and friendly when we come in. The olive and bread appetizer is amazing and a perfect light start for a meal. We've had both the deep dish and the thin crust and both are equally amazing. We've also tried the cheese bread which could use a little more seasoning to give it some more flavor but besides that, Bacino's is a great family restaurant or casual date night spot. If you're going to try anything, get the deep dish!

It's rare that I can't eat an entire pizza myself, especially a medium. I always order the spinach supreme stuffed pizza. Touted as their "Heart Healthy" option and I absolutely love it. I've been here plenty of times and always bring visitors here that are looking for a truly proper, Chicago-style pizza experience. The manager, Rob, is a great guy with whom I've built great rapport. I have yet to try the broccoli version, but one shouldn't mess with perfection. So cheesy and so thick. I love it. The most exciting part of bring my guests here is that I know that they'll get their extra slices to go and forget them in my refrigerator.

I used to go this place everytime I craved stuffed pizza. The spinach supreme is to die for. They even have slices now only for carry out though. I was not crazy about the crust the last time I had it.. it seemed undercooked..the best part was the ground beef added to it.. perfect cheese amount too! but the pizza was great! check this place out.. good prices too..

Obsessed! Best stuffed cheese pizza in Chicago. Delivery time is 1 hour or longer.. Rome wasn't built in a day. Plan ahead and order before you're hungry. I've also eaten inside the restaurant and the owner and all the staff are super friendly. I asked about a type of bottled beer I've never had before, which tells you how varied their beer menu is, and the waiter promptly gave me samples until I found one I loved!

Delicious! Went here mid-afternoon on a weekday and didn't feel like second rate customers. Got bruschetta and thin crust pizza with spinach and mushrooms. The bruschetta was tasty; you are served six slices of warm toast and a pile of tomatoes and spinach. Could have had more cheese on it, but still good. The pizza was amazing. Crispy crust and the perfect amount of cheese and toppings. Sometimes, you just need a change of pace from super-thick Chicago style pizza. Pitcher of beer: $12. Good deal and good beer. Large dining area and a downstairs area with bar that looked like it was being worked on. Will definitely be going here again! A+

As a NY'er in town looking to try "typical" chicago deep-dish pizza, I followed Yelp to Bacino's and was overwhelmed!! Absolutely fantastic pizza... I had the spinach version. Careful with the size though - I ordered a medium for me and a friend to share and I think we walked out with about five or six pounds of pizza. Lincoln Park is across the street so in nicer weather you can take your pizza to go and enjoy some sunshine.

I didn't order pizza with pieces of shredded plastic, but they brought some out anyways. The waiter was apologetic but because the manager was busy "on the phone," 20 minutes after they were made aware, it took that long for him to come back and tell us she took a whole $5 beer off our tab. Wow. Mabye she was too busy on the phone ordering more shredded plastic to figure out how to actually fix kitchen mistakes and instead had her waiter explain a pathetic $5 comp. Nice dodge of any managerial responsibility!

Holy cheese induced coma after eating the deep dish. I'm still not sure I actually like deep dish pizza, but as a newbie to Chicago I feel obligated to try a few places. So far, Bacino's was better than Giordanos. A little tip: the small deep dish is way to much for two people....maybe go for the "bambino" size if you don't want to take half a pie home for left overs. It is kind of a weird location underneath a chiropractic office. The basement level is a totally dated looking lounge, but these two quirky things give it a sort of charm.

Bacino's is my FAVORITE Chicago pizza place. Their stuffed pizza is just the freaking best! I went to DePaul University, a short walk from Bacino's on Lincoln, and never had a bad experience here. The down side of course is that stuffed pizza can take a while....so have a few beers while you're waiting! I've never had bad service, never had a bad pizza, and never had my order messed up. I always head to Bacino's when I'm back in Chicago visiting my peeps. LOVE IT!

Went because we had a groupon. Which now seems like a great deal. Ordered two small deep dish- one with sausage, mushroom and onions the other with pepperoni. Loved. it. would go back in a minute. Enjoying cold pizza for breakfast leftovers. Delicious.

NOTHING EXCLUSIVE! This was a part of my to-do list in Chicago. My initial plan was to go to Gino's (had seen it in Man vs Food Chicago episode) but Gino's has very long wait hours and therefore I choose Bacino's from Yelp. DECOR: This place is well done with beer /wine crate labels nicely placed on the wall. Trendy atmosphere and a cool place! FOOD: We ordered the Tuscan Style Bruschetta (Appetizer) and Spinach Supreme Pizza and Bacino Special Pizza (6 inches small/personal pan). By the way, on the menu the stuffed pizza's are the deep dish ones. Well, I didn't know that and had to ask the waiter. The Bruschetta was very fresh and was served with garlic bread. It was a soothing dish. My stomach was already filled with the Bruschetta and hence I could not enjoy the pizza. Also, one personal pan deep dish pizza is enough for two people. It is the stuffing that makes the dish heavy. The taste of the pizza's weren't that great! SERVICE: The waiter is friendly and polite. I went there on a weekend evening and did not have to wait. However, this item (deep dish pizza) takes 1 hour PRICE: Reasonable and per head was $ 10-15 approx if you order the 1 personal pan pizza and 1 appetizer.

The food was fantastic, service was slow. I have driven by this place several times while in Chicago and I have always been interested, but had other plans. I am glad that I finally had a chance to try it out This isn't some kitschy tourist trap, this is an actual neighborhood haunt and that is what I want when I am in this town The food really was great, their crust has great flavor and their sauce is great Pros: food, prices, menu variety, and atmosphere Cons: service was slow, and try don't serve Coca Cola (this is a Cardinal Sin if you are a pizzeria) I will go back

Might be the best stuffed pizza in Chicago, a true hidden gem. The cheese they use is amazing.

This place is so delicious it's almost disgusting.. The only reason this place gets a 4 star instead of 5 is that there seems to constantly be a tour group coming in for a pizza tour and it can get tiring listening to the history of my slice for the 1000th time..

Last time I was in Chicago I sadly left withouth eating any deep dish. That was not gonna lrt that happen this time. My friend took me here as we walked down the street of his Lincoln Park pad. The pizza did not disappoint. The Bianci's special which includes sausage, onion, mushroom and peppers was simple yet perfect. I was glad to see this place gets some best of Chicago pizza reviews. I understand why. Cheesy, good crust consistency and quality toppings. They also have a decent beer selection.

The stuffed spinach is my favorite. It has overtaken Lou Malnattis butter crust as my calorie-laden binge of choice. Delivery time is consistent - never more than an hour for me. Drivers are friendly (one is attractive ;) ). Their thin crust is great too. The cheese they use seems to be of higher quality than most other pizza joints.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on a whim while apartment hunting in the area. We were very hungry but the pizza was worth the wait! We were seated right away and received our piping hot, spinach, mushroom and sausage pizza 35 minutes later (as expected with a deep dish). It's local, has lots of charm and was delicious. I highly recommend Bacino's.

If you're looking for the best Chicago styled pizza, look no further than Bacinos. My favorite and I think soon to be yours. Their Spinach Pizza is really one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. Though to be fair, it say's heart healthy...it's definitely a meal you cannot have too often due to the amount of cheese and carbs. The other deep dishes are very good as well. You cannot go wrong with their pizza. As far as pricing, it seems fair for the quality. It does take about 45 minutes to prepare a deep dish so don't expect quick take out or dine in. Overall, this place is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I think you'll enjoy their deep dish pizza! (I've had Lou Malnattis, Giordanos)

Ordered carryout since they were going to be closing in a half hour, and got the Bacino's Special deep dish pizza. Their deep dish pizza is BOMB, and definitely more than filling, especially the 14" Large size. The sauce is delicious, the crust is an even better treat to munch on. All in all, huge fan.

So I tried Bacino's famous spinach deep dish after hearing about it and it was good but I was very underwhelmed by their sauce. I like my sauce chunky with pieces of tomato and super flavorful. I felt like their's was really lackluster...kind of bland and thin. On a good note, the spinach and cheese filling was really delicious and the crust was very good.. much better than a few other places I've tried, but for me the sauce makes the pizza and it just didn't do it for me.

4.5 stars, with minus 0.5 stars for the ambience given that it could be much better given its prime Lincoln Park location. With that said, I absolutely love deep dish, and Bacino's is without question the royalty of Chicago deep dish pizza for me. I usually bounce back and forth between this and the Wacker Dr location, which is closer to where I live. The ingredients are always fresh and the pizza never tastes soggy, unlike Giordano's. They also usually have a decent selection of microbrews to choose from if you are dining in. Ground beef is delicious...I've never tried any of their pre-designed combo topping pizzas. There's nothing distinct about their flavor like the Gino's cornmeal crust or the Lou Malnati's butter crust--it's just damn good and I usually feel less bloated after consuming it relative to the other deep dish behemoths. Still don't understand what they're promoting as "heart-healthy" pizza...but this place does make my heart quite content.

Loved the spinach garlic bread but the fancy truffle oil and wild mushroom pizza definitely disappointed. We've had a similar gourmet pizza at the LaGrange location and that was amazing. Stick to the more normal sounding choices at this place.

Carried out. Been here before, and to all the others, and the deep dish Hawaiian I had last night may have been the best pizza I ever had. Also, very much enjoyed the pear salad, even if it was a little expensive.

My band came through Chicago and as soon as we stepped into this fine city we wanted to find some killer Chicago pizza. Perhaps it could be that we hadn't eaten since 9 am (it was 10 pm) but that sh*t got me pregnant. A couple of Jamisons on the rocks and two slices later I was happier than a pervert at a boyscout convention. I shot tomato sauce and whiskey outta my moobs into a gorgeous firework-like display. Real happy I was. The pizza pie tasted better than all get out. Every last drop of all get out. I'm so pissed in am in DC now. I wish I had a little blow-up Bacino in my pocket. I like pizza better than politics and getting shot in the face.

Tried out a piece of thin crust cheese pizza at the taste of Chicago and it was great. It actually reminded me of a place around Cincinnati that serves similar pizza called La Rosas if anyone has heard of it. It definitely reminded me of that pizza which is a great thing. The crust was crunchy and just enough sauce and cheese (I don't like a lot of sauce, makes the crust soggy). I can't wait to dine in at the restaurant and have more thin crust pizza!

  • Diana R.

Thin crust is usually my choice of pizza, but I occasionally indulge in deep dish. The reason I tend to stay away from deep dish is there is so much cheese in it that it makes me feel like I'm dying. The ingredients are so fresh and high quality you can taste it in the slice. The spinach pizza is the specialty, but I have to say I liked the pepperoni better. The cheese is real which is great, but it might be too much. The slice is THICK and mostly cheese which made me feel like I was dying (which I'm not sure is a good or bad thing?). I had bruschetta as an appetizer and it was as good as any bruschetta I've had. I've also tried the caprese salad and that was phenom. The chocolate chip cookies are bomb.com (so soft and chewy). Wine and beer list is extensive and good. The only reason this isn't five stars is because it's too much cheese for my taste. I even had trouble finishing a personal pizza because of the cheese content. The wait is not unusual for deep dish, so that doesn't bother me but considering they're not usually super busy, they should definitely consider seating for slice-buyers.

I ordered a medium sized cheese deep dish pizza for carry out. It was pretty good. I am new to Chicago and didn't really like the deep dish I tried in the past but I decided to give it another try, I was certainly impressed this time around. I can't wait to try the spinach deep dish and maybe the thin crust too. I was full from just 1.5 slices! I'll have left overs for days lol!

I first fell in love with Bacino's at the taste. I went here yesterday for my sister's bday. The restaurant was kind of empty, We got the spinach and mushroom deep dish. It was delicious as usual. The hostess and waiter were both friendly. I liked where they sat our group. Everyone else ordered the bambino pizza's and one person ordered a sandwich. Everyone said everything was good. Over all a good dining experience and yummy pizza. The negatives were that my deep dish pizza came out kind of on the warmish side and not piping hot. The waiter told us they were closing at 9:30, when they never mentioned that before. I wasn't ready to leave at 9:30 so we still stayed till 10ish. The person who ordered a sandwich didn't get soup or salad, I didn't realize that until later. I was pretty sure sandwiches came with one.

I LOVE deep dish pizza. Until recently, the best I had ever had was Zachary's in Oakland, but I realized that I couldn't really say I'd had Chicago style pizza until I had deep dish in Chicago, so I visited Chicago for the sole purpose of making it my pizza odyssey. I did plenty of research, and read about this place in the local CBS article from September 1, 2011. I was super excited to try the place and made a point of waiting in front of the store 30 min before it opened to make sure I was first in line for the day. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! The crust was dry, there wasn't enough sauce. The sausage was greasy...overall, disappointing. If you want really good deep dish, go visit Zachary's the next time you are in northern California.

I didn't think this place hit it like it used since I've been to the one nearby Union Station in downtown, but... A bunch of us from work went to Bacino's to grab some dinner due to two new employees, and we had some pitchers of beers I never heard of and 3 'zas: 2 stuffed pizzas (one was a spinach and the other a pepperoni) 1 pan/thin pizza, plain I had the thin pizza before and it was good but did not have the opportunity to try it; but had the stuffed pepperoni and it was delish...lottsa cheese, decent amount of pepperoni, though the pepperoni seemed to have lost it's kick after cooking. Still, it was a very good pie. Wait staff was good, had decent fills of water and beer, and took good care of us. Restrooms downstairs, not very friendly for the injured or handicapped, though they may have one on the ground level (I didn't scope it out). For warmer seasons, the windows are removed for enjoying some drink and food by the great city outdoors, a nice touch and a common thing in the Wrigleyville area. Parking I am not sure of, though it's street metered, but our group cabbed it. I ate well here and I am happy...will come back too.

I am truly, truly sad right now because as I write this review I know it'll be months before the spinach supreme can grace this mouth again. One unassuming Friday morning my friends and I departed from LAX, having no idea of the wonders that lay ahead. Amidst all the hassle in ensuring that we made our flight, we all neglected to eat breakfast. Several hours later we arrived at O'Hare, with the weakest of the bunch ready to pass out from the hunger pangs. "Please!" he cried, wanting anything from any number of the places we passed in the airport. Too bad for him, I run a tight ship and nobody shall be subjected to airport food when we were so close to getting out. So with promises of sustenance, I ushered everyone to the rental car shuttle and we were off - with me busily trying to find us some Chicago pizza deliciousness on my handy dandy Yelp for iPhone app. Eventually, I settled on Bacino's as a result of the reviews and relative proximity to our hotel on Michigan Ave (apparently 5 miles in Chicago is a lot more than 5 miles in LA.) We ordered the large Spinach Supreme and an order of the breaded mushrooms. We figured it would be enough for the 3 ravenous fools. Well, we were right. We had that pizza around 4 in the afternoon, despite the fact that I was starving I was only able to have 1 slice. After eating to our hearts' content, we still had half the pizza left (which worked out perfectly for post Rush Street noshing.) The Spinach Supreme left me happier than Popeye could have ever been and I felt just as rejuvenated.

I can't speak to Bacino's as an authority on Chicago-style pizza, because I'm not local and haven't been able to compare it to the rest of the places around town. However, I can speak to my own lifelong relationship with pizza, which is both passionate and extra-dirty-filthy. Bacino's deep dish tickled me in a way that would have been inappropriate were it not for the fact that it was a food that did the tickling.

I give this review based on customer service. When I ordered my x-large pizza I told them I wanted half cheese and half spinach. Also, I said I wanted it cut into PIE SLICES! Upon picking up my pizza I was charged $21.70 which is the price of a spinach supreme instead of the $15.95 for cheese. I thought it would've been a few extra dollars to add an ingredient. The problem here is NO ONE told me and confirmed the price when I called. My fault for not asking before I hung up but I was in a rush and didn't think much about it. When I picked up the pizza they cut it into squares as opposed to slices. When speaking with the manager he said "i don't see slices on your receipt". That's BS. I'm not in charge of what the person puts on the receipt but if you want to pull the phone records you would hear it. The pizza was good but I will most likely not be going back for POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Business owners should realize the CUSTOMER IS FIRST!

Knowing that Bacino's is a deep dish place I had held off to trying. Pequod's is my place for deep dish and anytime I stray there is always a let down in store for me. A friend raved about their thin crust, so I had to try. Since it was 100ºF, I had a pizza craving, and I didn't feel like going into a deep dish coma I headed to Bacino's. They have a great selection of beer, and the pizza came out quickly. They pile on the cheese and toppings. Their pizza sauce is perfect. This will now be my new place to get thin crust/regular. The only complaint I had was that it was a little inside. However this was probably due to the fact that it was so hot outside. If you haven't been, GO!

Ok. O-KAY, Chicago. You win. All deep-dish isn't the food of the devil, fit only to feed the likes of those "The Hills" dimwits (the blond ones; you know who I am talking about). I have spent five years gagging, avoiding and bad-mouthing Chicago stuffed pizza. And, then I came to Bacino's and had the stuffed Spinach. "Mmm. Pretty tasty. I haven't had to gag yet. Wait...no, false alarm." I was even able to eat two bites without chasing it with a mouthful of beer. For me, for stuffed pizza, that's a huge deal. I am not going to eschew (haha) thin crust, BUT if I have to eat stuffed pizza, I know where to go. My only remaining question - why does it take longer to get a stuffed spinach pizza than it does to get the filet mignon at Gibson's? On second thought, I might be back to being afraid of stuffed pizza again.

I was recently searching for Chicago's best stuffed pizza for the bff and we ended up going to Art of Pizza, even though Bacino's came a very close second in our research. After trying both places, I can definitely say Bacino's is #2 to Art of Pizza. The service here was ammmazing (Natanja) and the seating is nicer. The order took just the time they had quoted on the phone when we pre-ordered. Everything was great, the spinach stuffed was pretty good too, but something about it wasn't just as perfect. One, it was slightly undercooked and we tried to have it baked a little longer, they ended up adding more sauce that made the pizza crust soggy instead of crispy. Two, even after requesting light on cheese and easy on cheese, there was way too much cheese on it! Definitely the front-runner when compared to Giordano's or Gino's East!

As I'm typing my review and sitting on the bed eating a slice of Bacino's stuffed pizza, my friend turns the channel to Oprah telling overweight kids- "You are not alone..." Nice. Anywho, called in a dine in order for a medium stuffed pizza -half Spinach Surpreme (spinach with bacino's special blend of cheeses herbs and spices - fresh mushrooms optional at no additional charge) -half Bacino's Special (italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, green peppers and onions) Upon arrival, we ordered a pitcher of soda ($4.95) and I decided to try their Friday $5 mojito...but they were out of lime *wompwompwomp* I asked Lizette (our server) what she'd recommend and she said some sort of martini (it says on the bill 1 Xrated Flirtini, but I don't think that's what it was). My take on the food: -I normally eat the crust first (to get the worst out of the way) but the crust was actually good. -There were 3 of us and after one slice we were stuffed (no pun intended) -Martini was too sour/bitter. I only finished half of it (I dunno if it's supposed to be that way since it was my first martini ever. At least it looked pretty) It was my friend's birthday, and they comped a Tiramisu with a lit candle on top Cool place- except for the sketch restroom (with the sensor paper towel dispenser that tricks you into thinking it will work but doesn't) Highly recommended :)

Best Chicago style pizza period. I came on a walking tour of food shops and eateries on the north side nearly 5 years ago and loved it. I came back this weekend and lived up to the 5 years of hype.

My first taste of Bacino's was back in Orland Park over a decade ago (that just made me feel old) and I finally reintroduced myself after getting a Groupon for 12 pizzas for $65 (small stuffed or large thin with all the toppings you want-it was a good one!). The stuffed spinach supreme with mushrooms is my fav-and its "America's first heart healthy pizza" so I feel a little less guilty indulging in the cheesy goodness. AND-they can make heart-shaped stuffed pizzas-a surefire way to a girl's heart guys! I still have 10 pizzas left on my groupon, so I will definitely be going back for more!

We got the Stuffed spinach supreme. This was yummy and filling. We also got the Thin crust Bacino's special with pepperoni on top; not under cheese to make it crispy. The pizza is good but not the best i've ever had. Calamari was okay nothing special. They do have an extremely creepy bathroom in the basement. Like scary movie creepy especially when no one is seated downstairs.

  • Rich K.

Good deep dish pizza. Only problem was the pizza was cold by the time I got it home; and I really hate microwaved pizza. Calamari was also cold and a little fishy smelling. We only had a few pieces and threw the rest out. I will definitely try them again and hope for a hot pizza the next time.

This is/was my first experience with deep dish pizza in Chicago (not an Uno's version of it). I can say I didn't really know what to expect. We got a broccoli deep dish and a thin crust cheese pizza. The broccoli deep dish pizza was huge and intimidating, but the taste is so so delicious. The cheese is very thick, more the texture of string cheese than cheese you'd find on a pizza. This is necessary because the pizza is so deep and so cheese-filled, the thicker cheese is essential to keeping the pizza together! I would give it 5 stars, if it weren't for the thin crust pizza.. The thin crust pizza bring its down to 4 stars because it just wasn't anything special. The cheese was the same, which was just too overwhelming for the thin crust. Additionally, the best part of pizza is the leftovers. The cheese pizza did not survive overnight very well. The copious amounts of cheese froze and crystallized on top of the pizza and was too tough to eat. Very disappointed. Definitely go for the deep crust, but skip the thin.

This is my favorite place to get a stuffed pizza. Giordano's is good, but has a TGI Fridays feel to it. I just don't care for Geno's East, its too crowded and not as much cheese as Bacinos. They also have a good selection of quality beers. Plus last time I came here, there was blood smeared all over the men's toilet and a dirty tampon on the floor. What kind of woman would use the men's room and smear blood all over the place. I just thought that was special.

Of the 5 critical pizza criteria (crust, cheese, sauce, ingredient quality and balance/ratio of each) Bacino's gets a 3 out of 5. Crust: We got the thin and it's a pretty substantial thin crust, so much so I asked if it was the thin when she brought it out. Someone completely nailed it in its description: too floury and saltine cracker-esque. Cheese: Good but, again, as someone below has stated, they don't cook it long enough and it comes out just melted enough...come on, you need to get that nice caramelized, well done golden cheese going, it's pizza ffs. Sauce: 5/5, it's fantastic and really a major reason this place gets an extra star...semi sweet and made the experience. Ingredient quality: 4/5, we got the Bacino's special w Sausage (great) Mushroom (great), Green Peppers (good) and Onion (good). Balance/Ratio of the whole pie: 4/5, really pretty good, made the lackluster crust and cheese sort of an after thought.

I worked for Bacinos at the Taste of Chicago 2 summers in a row. This is where it all started for me. I'm also a native Chicagoan, so yes I love deep dish pizza. This is in my top 5 places to go for deep dish pizza. Bacino's has both awesome deep dish and thin crust. Lots of cheese and a tasty pizza sauce. My favorite is the deep dish spinach pizza!

What can I say? There's a reason that this pizza is always one of the best sellers at Taste of Chicago. I grew up about a block away, so I have been coming here for almost 32 years now. Bacino's has, in my opinion, the best stuffed pizza of any in town. It blows Giordano's out of the water, and is clearly better than Nancy's and Edwardo's and numerous other competitors with similar offerings. If you don't agree, try the pizzas side by side (you'll see that Giordano's tastes like a watered down clone of what Bacino's is selling). Bacino's is fresher and better tasting than its competitors, every time. The stuffed spinach is the signature dish and the best in town (always ask for mushrooms - they're free), and you won't go wrong with any of the other pizza offerings on the menu. A stuffed sausage, pepperoni and giardeniera is a beautiful alternative, and it works great as a thin pizza as well... As for the location, it's not the most beautiful space, although they have done a decent job remodeling. The ability to open the windows in summer makes it a great location to sit at a table, drink a few beers, and take it all in as you watch the world pass by. Finally If you're concerned about temperature, as some of these reviewers are, I recommend picking up, rather than having it delivered - show up about 5 minutes before the estimate they give you on the phone, and you're set. Fresh out of the oven, and even with the drive home, it's still piping hot when you eat.

After reading the reviews and seeing photos of the supreme spinach deep dish pizza, we went to Bacino's for dinner. There's a cute, little dinning area off to the left after entrance. We ordered fried calamari for appetizer and a small supreme spinach deep dish pizza. The food came out in 35 minutes. Calamari was a little greasy. Pizza was good, but hubby said all deep dish pizzas taste the same, maybe it did. Ambience was comfortable with TV and people talking. It was a nice dinner. Note: their special 1/2 off appetizers on Mon and Wed is no longer active. Also, if you order a drink, it's free refill, but if they see you let others have a taste...there won't be any refill. Ridiculous!!!

Friday afternoon tourist trap. We went for lunch and showed up at the same time as four tour groups. I had the wonderful pleasure of listening to four chatty tour guides gab away about how wonderful Bacino's pizza is. - "Did you know Bacino's is famous for their Heart Healthy Spinach Stuffed Pizza!" - "Did you also know that Bacino's is supplying the Taste of Chicago with all the pizza for the festival!" - "Did you know that Bacino's delivers to anywhere in the continental USA?" No I didn't know any of that. But what I DO know is that the service at Bacino's was so painfully slow I wanted to cry. I have to admit though the pizza was good. We decided to go with Bacino's Special Thin Crust Pizza which was served with Italian Sausage, Peppers and Onions. A medium pizza was 14" and was more than enough for two people. I would definitely consider going back and getting take out but another sit-down experience would drive me batty.

I know I'm going to be a little unpopular, but I'm giving this place 3 stars. I just got back from vacation a few days ago and like Old Mother Hubbard my cupboard is bare so I went to Yelp, found the highest rated pizza in my 'hood and rang up Bacino's. I ordered a medium (12") Spinach Supreme thin crust. The Spinach Supreme is basically a spinach and cheese pizza with their "special" cheeses and herbs. I love lots of distinctive flavors and this didn't do it for me. I had to doctor it with crushed red pepper and salt. First, Bacino's get into the 21st century already! They have a website, but for a different location. Additionally, the pizza menu is wrong on the site, a Medium is more expensive than a Large! Second, I thought the pizza was overpriced. I'll be the first to admit it I'm cheap - I love to get as much bang for my buck as I can. I thought an essentially 1 ingredient, 12" pizza for $17.50 (including tax), which I walked over to pick up was a little pricey. The medium Green Giant pizza I get from Nonna's is bigger, tastier, and cheaper (and it comes with more ingredients). Bottom line: Bacino's is convenient, but since the thin crust pizza didn't knock my socks off I won't be a regular pizza customer anytime soon.

Bacinos pizza is probably my second favorite for thin crust in the city (first is Pizanos). It's delicious and fairlly healthy, considering. Their delivery, however, is horrendous. You never know what you're going to get. Every time I call to order, I talk to someone who has no idea what they are doing. I usually have to spend 10 minutes explaining to the person what I want. Then by the time the pizza arrives, the delivery person is rude, and the pizza is typically less than luke warm. It's always disappointing. However, the taste of the pizza keeps me coming back.

We met some friends for after dinner drinks here over the weekend and the experience was one of the best I've had in the city. They were closing, but allowed us to stay, drink, talk, and catch-up. Our server was very friendly. I was drinking beer and the manager a/o owner let me try a few samples of styles that were similar to what I was drinking. The beer selection overall was pretty amazing too! Open air on a beautiful night -- a great night. We didn't get to try the food, but for the service alone I will make it a point to return very soon!

I recently took a vacay to Chicago and did the Near North food tour (reviewed separately). One of the stops on the tour was Bacino's Pizza. We tried a slice of their spinach deep dish pizza. We were told it was pretty healthy, and the great part is that it did not really taste like it. Lots of ooey gooey delicious cheese.

3 things you should know about me before reading this review: 1) I am a native New Yorker and lifetime resident 2) I am a former fat kid, so every calorie matters to me 3) I am lactose intolerant. Cheese is a commitment. Bacino's Pizza was the last stop on the Food Tour. I came fully prepared with lactaid in hand. Before this, I hadn't had a slice of pizza in over 2 years. I'm not going to even get into that stupid NY v. Chi pizza debate. As far as that goes, T-Ball rules apply. Everybody wins, especially when the pizza is a good as what I had at Bacino's. The thin crust reminds me of a pizza I had in New Haven, CT once - a very favorable comparison. The crust is a fairly even combination of crispiness and chewiness. Being a stuffed pizza, there was enough cheese, spinach and tomatoes to make a quiche. The ingredients all had their own identity and all were able to play together nicely to give a uniformity of flavor. Sometimes, when you've got good ingredients in your food, you need to back off and let Nature take a bow. Bacino's, much to their credit, seems to get this. I would happily come back for a slice, hopefully sooner than 2 years.

I think Bacinos has the best stuffed/Deep dish in the city. I used to be a Gino's fan, but let me tell you, Bacino's has won me over. The sheer amount of cheese on that pizza, as well as the tasty toppings, fresh spinach, mushrooms, oh so good. Tasty sausage, and yummy pepperoni. I usually get it delivered and it is always piping hot and delicious.

An EXCELLENT way to fulfill my deep-dish craving which was 40+ days in the making due to Lent. As far as the crust is concerned, the place reminds me of Giordano's, which is one of my favorites. The sauce and toppings were perfect and the grease was flowing, which made me happy.

In all of Chicago I think Bacino's gets it right for both stuffed pizza and thin crust. They pile-on the cheese, which for me is a top priority. That's true of both thin and thick pies. All of the ingredients are tops. Great sauce. And for dining-in they have an obsession with great craft beers. This place is indispensable.

Ehhh I too had too high of expectations. The waitress was horribly inattentive and failed to tell us our app would never be coming out until she served us our pizza. We got the thin, which is not that thin :-( the pizza was below average and I would not order it again. Many better places than this! Do not go!!

I'm more of a New York Style pizza guy, but I do have to hand it to these guys for making a pretty damn good deep dish. My favorite is the veggie deep dish with giardinera (that's that spicy jalapeño, carrot, pepper, onion mix).

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The thing I miss most about not living in Chicagoland anymore is the deep dish pizza. And places like Bacino's just bring back to me all of the reasons why I miss it so much. Walking into this place, there's clearly no pretension here. It's not that Bacino's is dumpy, it's that it's comfortable. It's not chic or suave or sassy - it's just simple and earthy and natural. It says, "We're down with who we are, and we have no need or desire to be like anyone else" with the modest conviction of a humble rock star. The ambiance is just the beginning. As other Yelpers have already mentioned, the spinach special stuffed pizza is crazy delicious. It was good the first time. It was still good as leftover breakfast the next morning. We also got a stuffed Bacino's special (sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, and more). Between six big eaters, those two large pizzas were way more than we could finish off - in fact, we had a half a pizza left over in the end! As we were waiting on our pizzas (which took about half an hour to cook up - pretty standard for deep dish), one of the operating partners, John, stopped by to talk with us about beer. It's apparent that he's got a great passion on the subject. Apparently Bacino's is one of the biggest buyers of Rogue Ales in the Chicagoland area. Briefly after John left us to our own devices, he stopped by to share two little tasting glasses of one of the Rogues: the Santa's Private Reserve. It was a truly generous, unexpected gesture and it was some really interesting beer! One of our dining companions ended up getting a glass of it. I, of course, was already feeling pretty darn good from the one beer I'd had already, so I passed. Frigging yellow genes (grumble, mumble). Otherwise, I'd totally have gone for it. If I still lived in the Chicago area, Bacino's would definitely be on my short list of "locals." Great brew, great service, and even better deep dish. Thankfully, I'm an out-of-towner now, or I'd probably be a couple dozen pounds fatter than I already am!

By now you know I love my Bacino's. BUT PEOPLE, IT HAS GOTTEN EVEN BETTER. I've somehow managed to exist for this long without visiting the location in my own zip code. I still never have, since a delivery guy on a wintry night was too good to turn down. But here's the kicker--I finally swallowed my doubts and took up the Money Mailer on its offer to text "BACINOS" to 686868 for 50% off a large stuffed pie. No, I'm not the girl who texts "POPMUSIC" or "LOCALSINGLES" or "CELLPHONEMAHJONG" as soon as she sees an ad. This was a big step for me, and boy howdy did it pay off. Large stuffed spinach supreme + tax + delivery charge for $15! Just showed the delivery guy my cell phone with the text msg coupon, which has simple, unequivocal instructions on how to opt out from future messages (which they immediately honor, no problems here). Then proceeded to satisfy the five people in my house and fridge up the tasty leftovers. So good. So friggin good. Bacino's, you just don't even know how much I love you.

I finally went back here to get their deep dish. Yum-o! Personally, I prefer Lou Malnati's, but it's basically because of the buttercrust. However, this restaurant actually appeals to my deep-dish-disliking boyfriend, so it is great in my book. Interestingly, their toppings (or maybe just the pepperoni?) are sandwiched between two layers of pizza dough, which is topped by the cheese, and then sauce. Their crust is not buttery at all, and tastes kind of like thin crust/crackers. It's nice and light. Their cheese is also quite different from Lou's... I think it's healthier? Well, regardless. Deep-dish. Delish. Alsoooo. They have awesome specials. I believe Monday night is half off pizza night and Wednesday is 50 cent wing night (I might be wrong on that though, so don't quote me). But half off a pizza? Seriously? AMAZZZZING.

Steer clear of Bacino's and just make your way to the nearest Lou Malnati's. My husband and I went here in July when we were visiting the city trying to find an apartment to rent. It was hot outside and I recall walking for quite awhile around Lincoln Park prior to arriving at the restaurant. Bacino's was almost as hot inside as it was outside - at first it felt like there was no relief from the heat. Second, it seemed to attract a lot of annoying children and their parents' who don't know how to discipline kids. There was a large party of 2-3 families sitting across from us and the kids are jumping on the seats and practically screaming. The parents don't say a word about the behavior. Additionally, in the basement where the bathrooms are located, there was some kind of party after a little league game and same thing...out of control children. I know this is not Bacino's fault, but if you want to enjoy your meal without screaming children, I wouldn't recommend going here. Lastly, the pizza was alright. Not as tasty or memorable as Lou Malnati's.

Holy cheese. They put sooo much of it on their pizzas which I found to be pretty average. We ordered the Bacino's Special on thin crust, which is actually pretty thick so you don't have to eat an entire pizza to be full. The cheese is everywhere but seems pretty flavorless, although it isn't super greasy. They do a great job of baking their toppings into the cheese, whereas some places just dump the toppings on at the end. The sauce was really good. They have a ton of beers on tap and a lot of local and unusual ones which is cool. Our server accidentally put in our two pizza orders as smalls when we had wanted mediums, and gave us a free medium to make up for it which was really nice. The atmosphere is a little pizza-hut-ish but they have a cute downstairs loungey area. You can also walk in a grab a slice.

  • Bob B.

They need to figure out their slice situation . I stopped in in a rainstorm to buy a slice, but, they were going to make me eat it outside, in the rain, even though there were only a couple other people in the restaurant. I could understand if it were a busy time, and the trouble of maybe having different prices for service, or per slice, but they lost a sale, customer, etc. for no reason, IMHO.

If you've ever eaten thin crust at Chicago's pizza on Sheffield, then you know exactly what Bacino's tastes like. I swear they must have the exact same recipe, and both places don't cook their pizzas long enough so the cheese comes out barely melted and white. The crust was floury and undercooked as well, very unappetizing. We ordered the spinach garlic bread as an appetizer, which on the menu stated it was garlic bread with a spinach and herb topping with marinara on the side. We received a dish that was basically small slices of nasty garlic bread with spinach/artichoke dip in the middle, very heavy/creamy, not at all how it was described on the menu. As I write this I'm realizing that our waiter probably brought us spinach/artichoke dip instead of what we ordered, which just solidifies my 2 star rating. Definitely not worth a trip to Lincoln Park.

Just returned home from our 1st, and last, experience at Bacino's, Lincoln Park. Food: We ordered the thin crust cheese pizza and the antipasto plate. The antipasto plate was overly salty and drenched (and drenched again) in olive oil. The pizza, let's just say it was a salt-bomb, with a touch of even more salt. Our server, Dina, was less than cordial. Her subtle snips and visible attitude to our questions of menu items were not appreciated. Overall - not a good experience. Go to any other pizza place instead. For a Lincoln Park destination, you should expect a much better experience....

Not a huge fan of Chicago style pizza (I am a Detroit guy) but this place is damn good. Out of all of the Deep dish style places I have eaten at, this place takes the cake. Good crust, good cheese, the sauce is excellent, not too sweet, not watery, etc. Cheers.

If I could give this place a 4.5 but the pizza is just so good I figured I''d round up. Went last night and I have my usual side salad and pizze....and then a slice of my husband's stuffed pizza (Bacino's special) is the best. I don't care that the bathroom is disgusting or that the restaurant isn't even that clean....those are always the places with the best food anyway right? Last night my friend ordered just a small pizza for around $8 and then got four toppings (jalapenos, pinneapple, garlic and olives) and there were no prices on the toppings...when the bill came it was $1.50 for each....which is very pricey for garic and olives!!! I made a stink to the manager and he didn't really say much but apologized...but as we were waiting for a taxi across from the restaurant he came up to me and gave me a coupon for %15 off next time and said that we were right to complain because it was too expensive. I really appreciate things like that and it just makes me want to come back......I just love this place and if it was near my house I'd be a giant pizza blimp.....but a happy blimp.

This is not so much pizza as it is CHEESE, CHEESE, CHEESE, and more CHEESE. If you weren't lactose intolerant before eating Bacino's pizza you will be afterwards. after eating both their thin crust and stuffed crust pizza I have to say that there is just way, way too much cheese. Its overwhelming and gross. Similar to Chicago's which I also think has too much cheese, but there's even more. If you're looking for something similar I would say Giordano's similar pizza construction less 5lbs of cheese.

Easily some of the best pizza in Chicago is served in a nondescript location in Lincoln Park. It's on a street that only half a block up, caters to frat boys with money. No matter. 90% of the time, I order take out or delivery from here. Something about pizza makes me want to eat at home where I can get as messy as I need to and not be embarrassed when the cheese is all over the place. I usually get the thin crust Bacino's special. Now this is not a knock on the stuffed pizza which gets its name because one slice will leave you stuffed. (Probably not but they're free to use that statement on their menus.) It's a matter of preference for stuffed pizza vs thin crust. The pizza always tastes fresh and there is just enough of all the ingredients. I love green peppers and onions but make sure you're not going out with someone of the opposite sex after without first cleansing your mouth As for dining in, they have improved the restaurant since I used to go there as a teenager. They have a bar in the back with TVs and more seating downstairs. It kinda feels like a sports bar. The lighting is dim but this is not a romantic place at all. Go here for pizza. Nothing else. The apps I have tried have not lived up to the standard they set with their pizza. This includes their calamari which was way overcooked. The calzones are also nothing to rave about. Stuffed or thin crust. It's your choice and either way, you can't go wrong.

I found my spot! I found my pizza place, that I will always order from, no matter what time of day or my mood. I love love love the Bacino's Special. I usually get the thin crust because I'm too hungry to wait for a deep dish, but they always deliver it, fresh and hot and direct to my doorstep. I have never had a negative experience with the delivery or quality of food, and I can't really ask much more from my local pizza joint. Well done.

Bababa-reeba! If you want some real Chee-cago pizza - this is a must! This makes Lou Malnati's taste like frozen cardboard. Move over Papa Johns - this pizza crushes your camaro. Dominos - you've gotta steal this recipe! Pizza Hut - you may as well hang the 'going out of business' banner! Special mention to the fifth Beatle workin' the counter...we're down with that dood!

The stuffed portabello's were UH-mazing! The best I've had in a long time! Unfortunately, they butchered the caprese salad. How does one butcher a caprese salad you ask? Easily. The tomatoes had no flavor. The mozzarella was old. The basil was brown, and the balsamic vinaigrette was less a liquid and more a solid. No joke. Totally solid. Had I ordered the caprese first, I wouldn't have eaten the portabellos. The quality of such a simple dish was really disturbing. Never going back.

Oh, why don't you carry what is on your menu? We stop in for dinner and order a couple of beers, one a monthly special and, OK it was the first week of the next month so you don't carry it anymore - so take it off the options list. The other beer was an Italian import and well, they were out. So we get our new beer orders figured out and order the fried ravioli appetizer. Almost immediately after ordering, we are informed that they are out of those as well. I settle on the house salad which was not a typical house salad. I was pleased that was in fact mixed greens and not just romaine and/or iceburg lettuce. The olives and pepperoncinis were also a good touch. As far as their pizza goes, the thin crust spinach supreme is in fact supreme. The crust was almost a perfect thickness. The blends of cheeses, herb, and spices were definitely a step above the typical regular cheese and gave the pizza a lighter, more sophisticated taste. Unfortunately, our next disappointment came when we requested Tobasco sauce and were informed that the one bottle was presently at another table and therefore unavailable to us. What restaurant carries only one bottle of Tobasco? I know a little goes a long way, but please buy a couple so we don't have to share. The pizza saved this restaurant from earning a dismal two, but they really need to step it up if I am ever to go back.

Every trip to Chicago will have to include a trip to Bacino's. Having tried a few of the infamous Chicago pizza places, this one is my favorite because the pizza, service, cost, and special offerings combo is all exactly wonderful. I may get some hate mail on this, but Bacino's/Chicago pizza pie is better than New Haven pizza pie. The cheese is amazing quality, the crust exactly as it should be, the service prompt but not intrusive, the selection of toppings, excellent, and the beer selection: great local on-taps and a few regional sumpremo offerings. And for those of us who don't drink: an exciting extra, two kinds of fresh root beer on tap. One tip: sit upstairs, the basement seating needs a remodel badly. We had the stuffed spinach supreme and if you are visiting Chicago and trying to get the pizza experience, this will hand it over. The Cesar salad isn't very flavorful, but the green salad is great. Didn't have dessert.

As a native Chicagoan, I will let it be known that Chicago really can have more than one 5 star-quality pizza. Bacino's was there for us as we walked back to our car after the "Sleeping at Last" concert at Park West last night. I got a deep-dish spinach slice and my husband had 2 deep-dish sausage slices. We sat under the street lights in Oz Park, quiet, lovingly devouring our pizza, only looking up to smile and make googly eyes. Not a word was said during our late-night Bacino's experience. Some things are better left that way.

As out-of-state visitors, we wanted to try Chicago-style pizza at somewhere other than the ubiquitous Giordano's or Gino's East. We had to walk several blocks from the red line, but still, it was nice to get out into the Lincoln Park neighborhood. I'm sure it would have been nicer had it not been dark and cold. The service was very laid-back and casual, and it was no problem to get a table on a Friday night. I felt very comfortable here. The pizza oozed out cheese but I think that's how stuffed pizza is supposed to be. Yum! I'm pretty sure we got the smallest size and it was more than enough for two people...with a couple of slices leftover. Looked like there were lots of beer choices as well.

One of the more tame restaurants on Lincoln Ave in Lincoln Park.... Bacinos is home to the "heart healthy" pizza, in which you can order a pizza made with part-skim mozzarella cheese. They mix this cheese with the regular cheese, so it's better for you but also tastes good! The best part about Bacinos? It's sooooo cheap! I thought the bill was wrong when it showed that four of us ate for $30. Such a deal.

Those of you who read my review of Hot Lips Pizza in Portland, OR know that I used to live in Chicago, and that the one thing I really, REALLY miss is Chicago pizza. I can't even specify deep-dish anymore, because truth be told, I haven't even had a decent slice of thin crust since moving to the West Coast. Call me pretentious all you like, but ChiTown is the ONLY town for the best pie. And the best of the best? Bacino's, hands down. (Where does that phrase even come from? Guess I have some Wiki surfing to do after I type this up...anyway...) I could go on and on about the fresh, aromatic dough that forms the light-yet-crisp crust, the 100% natural gooey, plentiful and creamy mozarella, thick, spicy pepperonis, and (oh good LORD, the things I miss the most...) rich, cooked-to-perfection sauce. (To all Chicagoans reading this review: you have NO idea what atrocities are utilized as sauce out here! I swear to you, one place actually uses stewed tomatoes!) This is the pinnacle of pizza perfection - and any stuffings that you can think of are of similar quality and VAST quantity - biting into a Bacino's deep dish is like biting into an edible treasure chest, all of the flavors are balanced so perfectly that you can taste each, and yet somehow they exist as one single entity of flavor. How is a mystery, but one that I am more than willing to let go - just please please please keep it going...and maybe open a joint out here in PDX so I can finally show the natives what pizza is meant to be? I have to wrap this up...I'm jonesing for that which I cannot have, and it is actually starting to depress me. Chicagoans, you truly are blessed by the pizza gods.

Average across the board. I went in with high expectations and was greatly disappointed. The place is very casual and welcoming but they had strange music playing loudly and had the windows open on an 80 degree day. The heat by the windows was tolerable but we were sat in back by the [noisy] kitchen where it was 5-10 degrees warmer. Definitely was not a comfortable temperature. Service was fine, no complaints there. Price is comparable to other pizza places in the area. As for the food, we had the bruschetta and cheesy garlic bread as appetizers - neither of which was very good. Pizza (stuffed) came out after 40 minutes piping hot and looking delicious. Taste wise, though, the pizza was very bland. Good amount of cheese and ingredients and the pizza looked like care was put into making it but there just wasn't much flavor, especially in the cheese. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing special. Finally, parking in that area sucks - not really a strike against the place but it doesn't help. I live about 25 minutes away and probably won't be going back.

RED ALERT RED ALERT- BACINOS MAKES THE BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA, EVERY TIME! Bacino's pairs the most flavorful cheese with their tangy tomatoey sauce and slightly puffed crispy crust to keep me coming back for more. Inside, its warm and woody interior harks back to a time when Italian mobsters ruled the streets and pizza parlors were revered for breeding tough men who laugh in the face of the law and syphilis. Downstairs you'll find the bathrooms (individual, I might add) in the corner of a dining space for special events. Real gangsters, like yours truly, choose Bacinos.

Bacino's is as good as it gets for me. Win my love through my stomach and start here. Honestly, mentioning you've gone here once and I'll immediately love you, or at least make me lean towards liking you. I've been going to Bacino's ever since I was 8 years old and had a couple stays at Children's Memorial Hospital. My mom and I would go here when the Bulls were playing on cable because the hospital only got 2,5,7,9... The servers have phenominal memories--so good in fact my mom and I had to ask their secret which turned out that they were aspiring actors. I've gone there all days during the week and different times. Every time the service was great, hardly any waiting, and friendly staff. The pizza itself is heart healthy. I prefer thin crust with lots of veggies and ranch dressing. The garlic bread appetizer is delicious and sometimes makes me just want to order more and skip the pizza. But how could I? I'd at least take the pizza to go. This place is one that I'd feel guilty not going to if I was in the area. My Chicago outings sometimes feel incomplete without going here. Thank God my sister lives only a few blocks away. We are all addicted and not looking for a 12 step program out of this one.

In my opinion Bacino's has the best pizza in Chicago. I understand the gravity of that statement, have thought about it for quite some time, and still conclude that this is the best. However, when you read this please understand that I enjoy cheesy pizza. If you don't like cheese then you and I will be unable to agree on the quality of Bacino's. That said, here is what to expect: Baccino's is rarely crowded if you get there between 6-7:30. I almost always get a spinach and broccoli pizza. It doesn't matter too much whether you go deep dish or thin crust, they are both solid. I then enjoy myself a beer from Bacino's solid but relatively small beer selection. If you go in the summer the windows are open and you can eat while enjoying the rare nice Chicago weather. My only problem with Bacino's is the bathrooms are downstairs and located in a weird downstairs "club." That's all. Enjoy.

My parents were introduced to this little gem on the chicago city food tour. They raved about it until I was curious enough to go, and thank goodness I did. The pizza was delicious! Our server, DJ couldnt have been more friendly, and informative. Although Im usually not a fan of deep dish, this was pizza was made a little differently sort o f like a quiche, with two thin crusts one on top and the other on the bottom. AWESOME!! Cant wait to go back.

It's great during the summer, because I can rarely get the following combo: - Outdoor like seating watching people walk their small annoying dogs - Good beer list - Decent pizza The rest of the year: eh, so -1 I don't really like their pasta (oily), so -.9 I don't really like that the bathroom is downstairs, so -.1

Really kick ass deep dish pies, but the kicker is their awesome selection of local craft brews, many on tap. And the plentiful TV's make sure you can fill up and not miss a minute of the game before heading down the street or up to Wrigleyville to seriously destroy your liver and douche it up, Chi-town style.

I don't no what all the hype is about or what I'm missing but to be honest the pizza sucked. I got a large cheese, maybe that was the issue. I should have been more adventurous, and if I ever work up the courage to brave the pizza again I will. Lucky to have avoided 1 star in this case. The cheese was bland, and was the sauce, and the crust was chewy and lacking in flavor. I've cooked better pizzas myself. Maybe next time.

I ordered from Bacino's last night for dinner. I had been hearing about this place for a while, and it definitely did not disappoint. My roommate and I got the Bacino's Special. One of the best pizzas I've had in the city. They load on the ingredients. The delivery was really fast too. They told us about an hour, so I was considering going to pick up, but then decided I was too lazy. I was really glad I waited for delivery when it arrived in 30 minutes. There was a $3 delivery charge, but that's worth it to not get off the sofa after a long day of work.

I went to this place a while back and thought it was so cool that they're deep dish pizza can be ordered in a heart shape. Its my anniversary and I thought it'd be so awesome to go to this place and have a romantic evening and of course, an awesome heart shaped pizza.....NOT!! What did I miss with this place? Was there a new management change or has their service and food literally turn to shit?? We get there and ask for our heart shaped pizza and our waitress claims she has never in her life heard of heart shaped pizza being served at this restaurant and insists theres no such thing. My husband pulls out his phone and shows her how their is a picture of heart shaped pizza on their website which in turn made this girl go ask somebody who should know....our waitress asks the host who sat us at our table. They were literally 2 feet away from us and we heard the entire convo, which was something along the lines of "Its way too busy to do that just tell em we dont do it anymore." So our waitress literally turns around and tells us "we dont have that anymore". Ok I get it you're too lazy to grab a pan, clean it, grease it and prep it. Whatever. I'm still starving enough to stay here and order food. So I order a regular round stuffed pizza. The middle dough of my pizzza was so wet it literally tasted like raw dough. Our appetizers were sooo blah and in much need of salt. And boy oh boy was my soda flat. But its my anniversary so I'm making the most of the whack appetizers and normal round yet undercooked pizza. Before I left I took it upon myself to ask to speak to a manager. And surprise!! It was the host who sat us. No wonder everything sucked the manager's a lazy scrub who obviously doesnt give two shits about pleasing customers. The host proceeds to tell me prep time for a heart shaped pizza is up to 45 minutes...um i waited an hour for my lame undercooked round one. I told the guy I heard everything he said when the waitress asked him about the pizza. He gave me a half ass sorry and a bajillion excuses. I told him I came her to eat right...not for your excuses. He kinda shrugged it off and informed me that my waitress would take my debit card at the table for payment. When I paid I signed my receipt and did NOT give the waitress a tip. Instead on the tip line of the reciept I wrote : "NEXT TIME A CUSTOMER ASKS FOR HEART SHAPE PIZZA GIVE IT TO THEM!! THAT'S YOUR TIP!!"

We did the pizza tour of Chicago when I was there one summer. Of all the places (including Giodarnos and Pizzeria Uno), I'd say this was the best deep dish pizza of the top five places in Chicago! Also the thin crust pizza was AMAZING. I'm usually not a believer in paying for thin crust (come on -- get more value out of your money with thicker crusts) but this restaurant changed my mind forever. Thin crust here is amazing and definitely well worth it. Too bad I'm not returning to Chicago anytime soon.

Just got the one stuffed pizza with spinach slice because we were on a food tour, but WOW! All that wonderful cheesey stringy goodness. I thought I'd miss having the meat, but didn't. Can only imagine how good a stuffed slice would be with meat. Good times!

  • Steven S.

Awesome pizza and good service. The pizzas are totally loaded with cheese and toppings. I could only eat two medium slices and I was completely stuffed. My only complaint was that the food took a little long to come out (40 minutes for three pizzas).

Bacino's is, hands down, the best Chicago style pizza out there. I've been to all the ones that usually get mentioned (Lou Malnati's, Giordano's, Uno/Due, etc) and they pale in comparison to Bacino's. The crust here is that perfect buttery flaky/crunchy texture, and there's not too much of it. The pizza is perfectly stuffed--thin crust, like pie, on the bottom, cheese and toppings, then sauce on the top. The spinach with mushrooms is the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life, and I've been eating Chicago style pizza for over a decade now. As a bonus, you can pretend it's good for you, because it says "heart healthy" on the menu! Never mind the many pounds of cheese that must go on every pizza--it has vegetables! But whether it's heart healthy or not, it will be healthy for your spirit. It has that perfect blend of spices and spinach and cheese. mmmmm. They even make personal sized chicago style pizza. It's not my favorite way to go, because the ratio of outer crust to inner gooey goodness is not the same in the personal size, but it's a good way to please everyone if other people in your group refuse to get the spinach pizza. I don't recommend the thin crust pizza here--it's average. Go for the stuffed chicago style. Though if you have meat, be aware that the amount of meat and cheese in one of those pizzas can lead to a greasy experience simply because, well, meat and cheese are both greasy, and there's a lot of both in the pie! The space itself in the Lincoln Park restaurant is average pizza joint-esque--there's a bar, some booths, and a few tables. Downstairs there's more seating, but it's dark and a little dingy. The bathrooms (also downstairs) are a little sketchy, but the pizza makes it all worth it. The downtown location (Bella Bacino's, 75 E Wacker) is fancier/nicer looking but with essentially the same menu.

We purchased the groupon for 12 pizzas from any bacino location. We ordered the thin crust as take out from this location. The pizza tasted normal, but not as good as the location in downtown near trump tower. I believe the difference is in the sauce. The sauce from the other location is slightly sweeter.

I can't tell you how many times I've walked past Bacino's. Seriously, we never even notice it! This a a great little casual Italian place that is sure to please any palate. We started with the classic Caprese Salad because Tim has to try it at every Italian place we go. Although it wasn't my favorite (mine so far is Rocco's) it was quite tasty and Tim was happy. I ordered the rigatoni with Italian sausage and it was fabulous. We order pasta in a lot of places and we both agree that this was one of the best tasting around. Tim had the ravioli and we both agreed that it was delicious. The service was attentive and our experience as a whole was pleasant. I would certainly go back to Bacino's and bring a few friends to have a few beers next time! Well done my little local Italian joint!

Has been our favorite pizza delivery place, but have been disappointed of late. Tonight we were told it would be one hour or less and it's now been 2 hours with no pizza. No one there cares either.

After many years of eating pizza from the Bacino's stand at the Taste, I have finally visited the actual restaurant. It was empty when I walked in and the vibe was so mellow. The music that they played, the waitress's voice wasn't irritating...I don't know how this place could be so perfect. I felt like I was at home....no scratch that, it was way more serene than being at home. It was like I was at a spa and the pizza was masseuse. I ordered the thin crust cheese pizza as usual. So good. The garlic bread with mozzarella cheese on top was delicious and the lasagna was pretty good as well. Let me tell you the truth now before you're misleaded, Giordano's, Italian Fiesta, and definitely Uno's and Gino's do not stand a chance against Bacino's. The service was great, the pizza was great, the waitress was great, and the seats felt soft and comfortable. After being there for two hours and crying when I had to leave, I decided that I will eventually return to eat at Bacino's again. And please do not waste your time trying to get a seat at Bella Bacino's on Michigan and Wacker in the summertime, it's crowded as hell.

Food is good but I don't recommend EVER ordering for delivery because they will never get your order correct. I am always up for giving places a second and third try, but the past four times we have ordered delivery, two of those times something was missing from our order and once the order was completely wrong all together. When I asked for the order to be rectified the deliver guys came back with the most awful attitude even though we tip them again for coming back. I wish they could fix this problem but as of now we are boycotting bacinos.

I love Bacino's! I first came here as part of a food walking tour. We had their Heart Healthy Spinach stuffed pizza. It was GREAT! So was the tour. I have gone back here time and time again believe that this deep dish wins out over many of the popular pizzerias! Now mind you I am not originally from Chicago so I am not the deep dish expert, but I do consider myself a foodie of sorts and know what I like. Their crust is by far the best I have had in this city. I recently tried their thin crust pizza.....again, I am a fan! I do consider myself a thin crust expert. This one had the perfect amount of sauce and cheese and left me wanting more! I have even turned my boyfriend on to this place and his is a die hard on Lou Malnati's as well as Ginos!

If ever bringing foreigners to indulge in the great taste of Chicago deep dish stuffed pizza, I would highly suggest Bacino's in Lincoln Park. Granted it's not in a glitzier area like Gino's East or Pizzeria Uno downtown, but it is in a prime location for barhopping. When the weather is nice the windows are open and you can get some breeze. Bacino's features an upstairs and downstairs dining room with booth or table seating. Pizza can also be ordered to go, but do you seriously want to give a non-Chicago deep dish pizza out of a box? I think not! Eating at Bacino's is fine, and the pizza will take the usual forty minutes to load up. When ordering a stuffed pie, make sure to get spinach, green pepper, onion, and sausage and you'll be on cloud nine. While waiting for your pizza make sure to hit up some calamari and bruschetta. Kick back and drop down a couple of beers and you'll be nice and ready for a classic Chicago deep dish stuffed pizza. And for God's sake, anyone who does not tell their friend not to eat more than two slices of the pie is diabolically evil, or a glutton !

I think maybe a lot of people just don't know the difference between stuffed pizza and deep-dish. If you're complaining that there is too much cheese, maybe stuffed pizza isn't what you meant to order. Because the cheese is what stuffed pizza is all about, y0. There are places I'd recommend for thin crust and other places for deep dish. When it comes to stuffed, Bacino's is the place to be, and in my opinion the best place to show out-of-towners what Chicago pizza is all about. Ooey-gooey cheesy goodness with actual pizza sauce (NOT spaghetti sauce!) and a tasty crust. It's just a lot more flavorful than Giordano's or Edwardo's, and the cheese is way better. I mostly order delivery from them but I have dined in several times. The appetizers are nothing extraordinary, for the most part, but don't forget we're here for the pizza. If you have room afterward, the tiramisu is quite tasty. If only I could merge Bacino's with my other favorite, Rizzata's (delicious sauce but nowhere near as cheesy) I'd be one broke, very fat but really happy chick....

We were introduced to Bacino's while on a food tour in Chicago, it was the last stop on the tour and we tasted their stuffed spinach pie...delicious! So good, in fact, that we were inspired to grab a bottle of wine on the way back to our hotel later that evening and order a Bacino's stuffed pie for ourselves. We took delivery in our room and happily munched away on a stuffed pepperoni pizza that was hot, fresh and delicious. Paired with a salad and our wine, it made for a perfect in-room evening. We're so glad that Bacino's was included on the food tour, otherwise we would have never known the bliss of sinking into a stuffed slice. Yum!

I've stopped in here twice for a slice of pizza. (Side note: Chicago needs more places that serve pizza by the slice!) The first time, I was pleasantly surprised. I got a nice slice of cheese pizza (thin) and a Diet Pepsi for $3. THREE DOLLARS! It was hot and delicious. The second time, it was still $3, but the pizza was cold and less delicious. Bacino's doesn't stick your slice into an oven to warm it up before you get it. Nope. It comes right out of the glass case and onto the plate. So if you stop by for a slice, you'd better hope that they just made the pizza. I'll just walk the extra half-mile to Cafe Luigi from now on.

I had a deep dish 3 topping delivered to me and it was pretty good but nothing extraordinary. The crust was too grainy, flaky on the bottom. The ingredients were not superb, they were not cut small enough to be in every bite or to take a part of one without the rest falling out. The canadian bacon seemed like lunch meat. It was luke warm, took about an hour. However the cheese was good and stringy. Two pieces were all I could eat in one sitting. It was a very thick deep dish with lots of my chosen ingredients included. Price was fine for the amount of food I got. Nice that they included little packets of parmesan and red pepper flakes stapled to the outside of the box, as well as a menu. I've had better, but I've had alot worse! I might not get a delivery from them again but wouldn't mind going to the place to eat since the crust probably tastes better fresh.

After reading Yelp reviews skipped Geno's and tried Bacino's. The four of us that went really enjoyed our deep dish pizza - I mean our stuffed pizza with roni and sausage. We also had some hot wings that were decent enough and worth ordering. Hot but not too hot. Chrispy but not too crispy. None of us are from Chicago so we will still try other pizza places in the future but if I lived in Lincoln Park I would be all over this place on a regular basis - I would also be 250 pounds! We didn't eat any thin pizza but looking at the slices under the heat lamp made the crust look almost like a cracker with sauce and chesse on it. After we ate we took a walk in Oz Park next door. Pleasant little park with sculptures of Dorothy, Toto, theTin Man, the Scarecrow and my favorite, the Cowardly Lion. It was nice to walk after the pizza.

A personal deep dish here will set you back under $7 and yields the equivalent of two nice sized slices! Guess what else? It tastes just as good as all the 'big name' pizza joints in the city. Adding to Bacino's greatness is the fact that the owner is a beer aficionado, so you can expect to find a nice selection of brews on tap that aren't all that common (Rogue Ales, seasonal brews, etc.). Cheap prices on the droughts too! Best of all, it's location in proximity to the Fullerton L stop requires a nice stroll to and from the restaurant, so you don't have to worry about feeling guilty after consuming 2000 calories worth of food and drink in one sitting.

Great take out thin crust last night. We have always liked Bacinos but last night we tried spinach on the pizza (my attempt to get more veggies in the kids). The way they put it on (finely chopped and with the cheese) kept it from getting soggy or overcooked which no one likes but kids hate. Everyone loved it and it was a little healthier. I also was pleased that it was ready for pickup 3 minutes early. Great pizza and service is all I want in a pizza restaurant.

Coming from New York where the best pizzas are thin I was very pleased to discover a deep-dish pizza that I actually like. My first experience with deep-dish pizza in Chicago was at Lou Malnati's. I honestly cannot say that I found that pizza memorable. My only memory of it was that it had too much garlic. Now, Bacino's ... well, that's a memorable pizza! :) I've eaten there twice, both times with out-of-town guests wanting to taste an authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Since Bacino's is close to home my boyfriend and I took our guests there. Everybody loved it, including this NY thin-pizza snob! :) The sausage and spinach is my favorite. Prices are reasonable, you don't need a reservation, and the food is very good. They claim to have the only 'heart-healthy' pizza in the city. I asked them what makes their pizza heart-healthy. I expected to hear that they make it with a multi-grain crust. Wrong! They say it's the cheese. Hmm ... well, I dunno how cheese can be heart-healthy but I don't really care! The pizza is awesome.

First, full disclosure: I have been coming to this place for pizza for as long as I can remember. We ate here every time my family drove in from the suburbs growing up and I have over twenty years of good memories with this restaurant. But even if I didn't have a history that went back to when the side bar room was decorated like a race car, I would still love this place. Their stuffed pizza is amazing. I'm not convinced that it's as heart-healthy as the menu claims, but I really don't care because this is Chicago pizza done right. The sauce has more zing than Gioradano's and Lou Malnati's, and the crust is delicious. The cheese is the perfect consistency to hold everything together, and the ratio of sauce-to-cheese-to-toppings-to-crust is spot on. Also: amazing leftovers. I have never really been a cold pizza person, but I will happily make the exception for Bacinos. The restaurant itself is a little short on atmosphere, but the prices are reasonable, the service is good and the appetizers/beer/food are all great. My mom calls from the road to pre-order the pizza every time my folks come in from the suburbs, and they've never screwed up the order or the timing--which is pretty impressive. Even better, they have a wide delivery area so I can now have my favorite pizza at home! My boyfriend didn't believe me when I told him about Bacino's--he thought I was just fond of it because I'd been going there so long--but one pizza was all it took to convert him. It's amazing every time.

We went on a Sunday afternoon. It was so hot in there we were sticking to the booth seats. There was no air circulation. Pizza took an extremely long time to come out and there was only one other table needing service. We had to request the Parmesan cheese - duh, that goes on pizza. The drinks were not offered to be refilled and the pizza just ended up being 'okay'. I am not returning here and am bummed about my experience.

The first thing I have to say about this pizza it was the cleanest stuffed pizza i have ever had. Not that the messiness or lack of messy makes a difference in the taste but I think it provided a better pizza and here is why. Since it was well put together and didn't slide around, the toppings (stuffings) were generous in every bite. I had read about how their spinach was something special and it certainly was. All of their ingredients were fresh and it made the pizza stand out among the numerous stuffed pizzas I have eaten. I didn't feel like I ate a brick of cheese which was a nice surprise. We got it for carry out on a Friday night and it was ready in 30 minutes.

I have visited Bacinos twice now and it is by far my favorite pizza in Chicago. The spinach stuffed pizza is to die for and the thin crust Bacinos special is equally as great. Their appetizers and variety of beer makes it even better. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would call ahead to be sure it isn't busy since it's a popular place. Definitely check this place out you won't be disappointed!

The search for the perfect thin crust has ended! I can't give my normal AFA, but for takeout, here we go: FOOD: This pizza takes the cake. I used to be a purist: only deep dish for me. Well after co-occupying space with a thin cruster, I've learned to appreciate the pizza. We first tried this place while at Taste of Chicago -- their stuffed-spinach pizza is worth trying for sure. We had a taste for pizza one night and ordered. And we are quite thankful we did. Like other posters have said, the crust, sauce, cheese and toppings are the perfect blend of sweet, savory, crunchy and just plain goodness. I think what separates this place from other pizza joints is the crust. Too many places can't get the crust right, but this place seems to have dough that has just the right amount of salt and they bake it just the right amount of time to get the crust perfectly flaky and crunchy throughout. If you can get the crust right on a thin crust, well, you've got a helluva start. To date, I've had the stuffed spinach, a stuffed spinach and sausage, thin crust sausage, thin crust pepperoni, and plain cheese. My top would definitely be the stuffed spinach and sausage. Wowsa! These guys even deliver north of Belmont for those of you in Lake View, which isn't always a given with places south of Fullerton. In any event, give this place a try, especially if you haven't found your "to die for" place yet!

I didn't even realize this place was still open, until I ran across other Yelpers' reviews here. So while I haven't been here in many years, I'll put my two cents in. Back in my 20-something days, living on Surf St. in Lakeview, our little Friday-night-out crew used to frequent or order from Bacino's. Not being a big fan of big wads of choking cheese in my mouth, I was never that big on deep-dish. My mother always warned me that too much cheese may result in Wisconstipation. And I seem to be lactose intolerant when it comes to too much cheese. But I did love Bacino's spinach and mushroom stuffed pizza. In fact, now, if I close my eyes and concentrate, I can have a litle taste bud hallucination of that nice earthy combination of spinach and 'shrooms mixed in with the cheese. And just enough tomato sauce, too. I gotta go back there and git' me some o' dat vegetarian deep-dish delight. As well as full pizzas, the have it by the slice, too.

I have been gone from Chicago for five years. Now I am back, and I am eating and rating pizzas. I love pizza.I really, REALLY missed good pizza. Here we have Bacinos. A 12" (med) stuffed crust pepperoni pizza weighed in at about 5 pounds or so. Ladies and gentlemen, it's cheese. IT'S CHEESE!!! Lots and lots of cheese. You know what else? It's damn tasty. I loved eating this pizza. Next time, I will get the small (10") because the 12" was just too much for me at one sitting (I eat pizza as if somebody has a gun to my head...that 12" pizza could easily feed 3-4 adults). It was...awesome. There are millions of great pizza places in Chicago. This is one of them!

Honestly, the pizza is probably a 4, but the great service put it over the top for me. Bacino's has a very professional staff who give their customers their utmost attention. (I actually spilled my water at one point, which was somewhat embarrassing and they cleaned it up right away). As far as the pizza, of the big 3, it is most similar to Giordono's. Very clean, good ingredients, fresh and thick crust. (I'm more of a Loumalnati's fan with the corn crust and whole tomato sauce, but for this style, it was executed well.) Other than the oddly angled booths, I really can't say anything bad about the place. I would recommend it.

I am so happy to be back in the Bacino's delivery zone! I've ordered here a number of times since moving back into the Lakeview area and happy to report their stuffed pizza is still the best. I made the mistake of ordering their thin crust though and cannot recommend it. Although it tasted fine it was way too expensive for what you got. Looks like I'll be driving back to Bucktown to get PIECE when I'm craving the thin stuff.

I really enjoyed my meal. The only really average part was the caesar salad. A little blah. Went for lunch and we were treated quite well (a really sweet waiter took care of us). The Stuffed Spinach pizza was perfect. Super cheesy (I mean, really cheesy) with just the right amount of sauce. I thought the sauce, cheese, spinach..ok, the pizza as a whole was exceedingly fresh tasting. And I enjoyed the buttery crust. I'd definitely go back.

Best. Pizza. Ever. This is really the paramount of pizza. Just the right amount of cheese, a garden's worth of spinich, and a crust that's not too thick-not too thin-and flakily delightful. And the deep dish, well, if there were poets who sang the praises of food, this would be their muse. Great odes would be written about Bacino's deep dish pizza. So cheesy, so saucy, so full of all the things pizza should be full of... And it's allegedly "heart healthy." Not sure exactly how they're pulling that off, but hey... I'm not going to question it. If it is, Nobel prizes should be in order. If not, whatever. Either way, the pizza is The Best.

I went there around 9:30pm on a Saturday night. The place was pretty empty and we were sat right away. Our server eventually came and took our orders (sadly she didn't seem to make any small talk or even say what the specials were). We ordered the Gorgonzola salad which was really tasty with peppered pecans and pears. We decided to get two small pizzas to try out different styles. The thin spinach was just ok, neither one of us cared for the spinach that reminded me of the canned kind I had as a kid. The stuffed one was good, we got ours with pepperoni and green peppers. Overall, the food was pretty good, I do love the sauce and both styles of pizza. The service was definitely lacking which is why I only gave them 3 stars. Our drinks were always empty, we were never checked with to see how everything was, and no dessert was offered.

Forget Gino's East and the rest - come here for Chicago pizza. Bacino's might not have the flair or atmosphere of some of the others, but this is where the real pizza lives. Service was exceptional - waiter was just the right amount of friendly. We ordered a vegetarian deep dish, and the wait was just what you would expect. The pizza, though, was de - wait for it - licious. We ate to our heart's content and still had some leftovers. They were still amazing reheated. I can't think of a single complaint, other than that the atmosphere was nothing special - but I'd rather pay for the pizza than pay for walls to carve my name into. Just saying...

My experience with Bacinos is limited to take-out or delivery. I spent many years downing countless deep dish/stuffed pizzas from B's and was pleased every single time. I also had Cheese, Sausage, Mushroom, Onion or the Hawaiin. The CSMO was first class, always cooked to perfection, and combined one of the finest tasting crusts, and sauces anywhere. The hawaiin is equally good, with Canadian Bacon, and pineapple - easily the best Hawaiin I've ever had. Unfortunately for me, through a series of mistakes followed by a bad decision, I was forced to move to Milwaukee, so Bacino's is now only a dream.

Okay. So, only my second review but I wanted to do a classic before I head back to LA, where I now live. Let me just say that I loved my time in Chicago. Best night life in the US and some of the best food (not a decent mexican place in the city - but I survived). Now to my review... I have had pizza from all over, NYC to LA and the only pizza I consider worthy is Bacino's. It is easily the best pizza I have ever put in my mouth. When I lived in Chicago I even lived above a Bacino's pizza just because I could walk down everyday for a slice. I'm much more a thin crust guy vs a deep dish, but all are good. Forget about NYC you ;put a Bacino's thin crust vs a Ray's and Bacino's wins everytime. All I'm saying is have a Bacino's pizza to complete your pizza education. I live in LA now and have a pizza delivered as often as I can. Enjoy. :)

I can't rate the food here because I never actually got to eat it. There's an open window that looks out onto the street, and I was looking out onto it when I stumbled slightly, grabbed ahold of the bar and it snapped slightly. However, it snapped right back into place and no damage was done, but an employee saw me and insisted I file a damage report. We refused, saying that there was no damage done, and actually snapped it in and out just as I had before to show them. The guy still insisted, and said he would call the cops if we didn't file it. This was ludicrous, because we had done absolutely no damage whatsoever. The cops came (two cop cars) and said the same thing, and were angry at the employee for wasting their time, because he had made it sound like there was an all-out brawl (LOL). The cops let us go, but we never actually got to have any pizza. Which, by the way, although we never ate it, the employee insisted we pay for. Apparently this guy was the "manager", or at least was until his boss got back. Anyways, my experience here was terrible and I wouldn't recommend going here to anyone. It was also quite noisy and the same employee was shouting at one of the other employees when we got in. They seriously need to hire some new staff!

Writing a review for Art of Pizza reminded me that I hadn't yet written a review for Bacino's though I've been coming here for nearly 10 years. As a naive little Blue Demon, I happened upon this place one random day and decided to bring home their supposedly "heart healthy" stuffed spinach pizza. Surprisingly, it was love at first bite. I am a carnivore all the way, but this is one pizza for which I'll gladly pass on the meat. Seriously. It's so good and has the perfect blend of all things delicious. One of my favorite Chicago-styles, for sure.

It is not a trip to Chicago without pizza and Bacino's was the place chosen for our group by the local office. My very vegetarian pizza was delicious and the atmosphere comfortable with good service. Lots of fun.

Pretty decent pizza! We ordered pizza for carry out with sausage peppers and green olives. I was really excited because most do not carry green olives. It was decent and conveniently close to my apt.

Best deep dish pizza in the City (in my opinion)! The bambino pizza is the best deep dish deal in town for a one person, quick meal. $5.65 for a 5" deep dish pizza. The atmosphere is nothing special, although they remodeled the second half of the restaurant into some type of a bar in early 2006. Nobody ever really goes to the bar to drink, only to eat or the delivery drivers counting their tips. The staff is average and the managers tend to walk around bossing around the drivers who wait in line by the door for the next delivery. Get carry-out or delivery if you can. There are plenty of free delivery coupons out there. FYI, credit card minimum is $10. If you have friends in from out of town and they want authentic, Chicago pizza, this is the place to take them!

Overrated. I was expecting their deep dish to be the best thing ever because of the reviews, and I was really not that impressed. It was AIGHT.

I have been a loyal Bacino's fan for years, but in the last few months I think it has gone downhill a bit. The last deep dish we got was so overloaded with cheese, it was so stringy, you could barely ear it - and as I have been a customer for years, I know what their deep dish is supposed to be like. The thin crust is too thick for my liking - it is very bready. But what I really want to warn readers about is that if you get delivery and pay by credit card, the receipt is printed out with your entire cc number including expiration date. This is what gets stapled to the box and probably most people don't think to tear it off and shred it - but this is the easiest way for someone to steal your credit card info so if you do order, be aware!

This place has won the award for the first heart-healthy deep-dish pizza in America (yes, I know it sounds contradictory). The stuffed spinach pizza is fantastic! I ate with a very eclectic group (some who were terrified of deep-dish pizza) and everyone loved it. The crust is good, sauce is tangy and the cheese is not oily. Not a huge fan of the atmosphere, but the staff was very kind.

As I sit here enjoying my cold pizza for lunch, I thought it was only fitting to write a review. This is my hands-down favorite pizza. Their thin and thick is absolutely great. The cheese is perfect, the sauce has a great, tangy taste and their crust is so crispy and tasty. What more could a girl want? No problems with delivery, never dined-in.

Bacinos gets a 5 star for their stuffed pizza. I have never tried the thin and probably never will because the stuffed is that great. I love all types of pizza and I think Bacinos is the best in Chicago. The ingredients are fresh and the tomato sauce has a sweet unique tomato flavor that is addictive. On my last visit I tried the breaded ravioli which was excellent also. For those who gave it poor rating due to the thin crust give Bacinos another go with the stuffed. Side note, their pepperoni is spicier than most. I have been eating there since 1995 and have yet to be disappointed.

One of the best Chicago deep dishes I've ever had. The spinach is amazing! They also have great sauce and cheese. The pizzas are vibrant and not too filling (amazingly). I would definitely eat here again. The crust was the perfect texture and had the perfect hint of butteriness (the only word I could think of). They also have that amazing Sprecher rootbeer. It is very creamy and if you're a rootbeer fan.. it's one of the best! The only thing that I would say was horrible about the place was the god awful music they played. They somehow had a music compilation of the worst music from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's. blech! Just make sure you have friends to talk to to give you audio distraction. ;)

  • Jay K.

This place supposedly has the best deep dish pizza in town. In my opinion, far from it. The crust is on the dryer side, the sauce is good, the cheese is lacking, and the final product is a middle of the road generic deep dish pizza. If you like bland foods, then you'll prolly love this. If you like spicy, exotic, vibrant foods, than you're better off going elsewhere. I feel most of the other places try something different (i.e. Geno's has cornbread crust, Giordano's uses lots of cheese and sauce, Lou Malnati butters their crust) and in the process gets people who love their pizza and some that hate it. Bacino's plays the safe route and serves everything down the middle. May be your cup of tea or you may actually think it's generic like me.

Everyone has their favorite pizza place - this is mine. I really like the stuffed spinach pie. And I like that it's not overly crowded like other places, so you can actually get at table on a Saturday night. The staff is pretty friendly, the beer selection is surprisingly strong, and the prices aren't bad at all. If you are looking for a new place to try out, especially if you like spinach, then give Bacino's a shot!

I've lived in Chicago for a while now, and I honestly didn't think I could be surprised by deep dish anymore. Bacino's deep dish is making me re-think that. It's possibly by far the best deep dish I've had. Really, really fresh tomatoes, good amount of toppings, nice solid crust. Bacino's has just jumped to the top of my list for deep dish.

Bacino's still has it - they are my top ranked, go-to Chicago-style stuffed pizza place! With a set of friends, I recently conducted a Chicago pizza taste test, and they agreed that Bacino's spinach and mushroom is the best.

I ordered the lasagna and should've stuck to the delicious pizzas I saw being delivered to nearby tables. The lasagna was greasy, bland, and had too much of everything -- like a layer of hamburger for the meat and a layer of ricotta/romano cheese that was about 1/4 inch thick. On the plus side, the overall portion was sizable for less than $9, but I'm not super excited about having leftovers of this dish. I was disappointed in the pasta, but would return to try the pizza that they're known for.

Ah, Bacino's. In my quest to try as many deep dish/stuffed pizzas around Chicago as I possibly can, I discovered Bacino's of Lincoln Park (on one of those lists that boast the best deep dish pizzas of Chicago). We had been planning on dining here for months before the stars finally aligned and we made the 40-minute trek from the 'burbs. We were able to score a pretty good pay-to-park spot, which was exciting considering Lincoln Park can be tough because there are so many parking spots that require a permit. We walked in and were surprised to discover that there was not a soul dining at Bacino's on a weeknight. There were a bunch of workers sitting around listlessly using their phones and joking around. We (of course) got our pick of seats, so we opted for a booth. The booth was pretty big with tall backs such that I felt enveloped in a very pleasing all-encompassing way. Comfy! I'm not sure why I thought this was a good idea at the time, but when David C. asked me what size we should order, I said "large." We got the spinach stuffed large pizza. We waited about 35 minutes for it to be ready (exactly within the quoted amount of time). It was a very large and in charge pizza, stuffed to the brim with ample cheese and spinach. The menu said something about it being the only "heart healthy" stuffed pizza and I'm wondering if this is meant to be a joke? Clearly there was nothing (but maybe spinach) "heart healthy" about this bad boy. And we weren't complaining. Naturally, we were way too stuffed to even take a look at the dessert menu, but our friendly waitress still gave us tiny homemade chocolate chip cookies. This was such a treat and a great touch! Bacino's is definitely one of the best stuffed pizzas in Chicago and is very deserving of a spot in the top five. Is it *the* best? I've yet to determine that, as I have more exploring of the Chicago pizza landscape to do.

Great deep dish (and thin crust) without the crazy weekend lines at the downtown tourist hot spots. I love that you can get a personal pan (bambino size) deep dish here - no more arguing over toppings! My family always makes it a point to go here when they visit from out of state.

The pizza here is delicious. But, at $5/slice for an average size, it's excessively expensive. No free water available, they charge you $3 for a bottle and refuse to give you tap water. I asked for parmesan cheese and they acted like I was bothering them. Shocked this place isn't failing, it's crazy expensive and overrated. Avoid.

Out of town looking for some good Chicago pizza- Bacino's came highly recommended from a friend and did not disappoint: First, the garlic bread was AMAZING!! For only $3, you have to try it! Sit, relax with a beer and enjoy a great lunch. It was a beautiful summer day so they had the windows open. My husband ordered the stuffed pizza while I had the "thin"- which is more like our "regular" back home in Texas! Service was great- food was great- atmosphere was great. NO complaints!

We went using a groupon pizza deal for 2 for $27. Had an amazing dinner! The small thick pizza was perfectly cheesy and enough for 3 people. I will definitely be back here when I'm in the area. I forgot to mention that our server was absolutely delightful. Very attentive and made a good local beer recommendation.

We found this place because of you, fellow yelpers, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. The place is in a great neighborhood, and right next to a dairy queen (ohhh yaaa) People must mean business in here, since when we came in around 6ish on a weeknight the place was packed and the phone was ringing off the hook. We sat in the bar area and started off with a beer flight, some wine, the caprese salad and the wings. (looked like we hadn't eatin in days) Of course we needed more food so we ordered two individual pizzas. One pepperoni and cheese, and one supreme spinach without the mushrooms. Both were a perfect size. Overall, it wasn't the BEST deep dish I've tasted in Chicago, but I would recommend giving it a try for something different. Shout out to Alex, our server, for being so friendly! The place was busy, and he handled the crowd well. Bravo Bacino's!

I'm gonna' keep it short; best pizza I've ever had in my LIFE! The stuffed pizza was amazing, and amazing is an understatement. I went to Lou Malnati's and that place couldn't even compare to Bacino's. The service as Bacino's was excellent and the food was to die for. It took 40 minutes for our stuffed pizzas to be made but it was well worth the wait. If you're in Chicago, don't go anywhere else for pizza.

Just ordered a medium stuffed pizza with Italian sausage and pepperoni and it was fantastic. The cheese was a very good consistency, sauce was delicious, I was impressed at how well the pizza was sliced, typically its very difficult to pull out a slice of deep dish and that was not the case with Bacino's. If you like stuffed/deep dish pizza Bacino's is definitely worth giving a try!

Definitely one of the best pizzas in town. The stuffed spinach is to die for, and there is something on the menu that says its "heart healthy." I don't understand how this absolutely fabulous pizza could be good for your heart, but its simply too good to wonder about logistics. I'll just eat it and not feel guilty about devouring as many slices as I can stuff in my face because its "heart healthy." :oD

Bacinos forgot lesson 1 of customer service. When you delay the promised delivery time and never call to alert the customer, that is a problem. When the delivery stretched 25 minutes past the promised time, we attempted to call the restaurant. We were put on hold-twice- and after another three minute hold had to redial once again. Ultimately the manager answered the telephone and stated that when taking the original order, his employee left off one of the numbers of the charge card. Of course these mistakes happen but what you don't do is delay the order and not even call the customer, busy or not. Instead he just had the pizzas and salads just sit there waiting to be delivered. What the manager should do do and what he never did, is apologize profusely and explain that the pizza will be delivered immediately. This manager, who said he's been employed at the restaurant for five months not only did not apologize for his employee's error but didn't even make the gesture of deleting a delivery charge or even send a complementary desert. Either gesture would have been appreciated and it's a pretty standard reaction on the part of a restaurant. I attempted to provide the manager with an opportunity to make up for the error and calmly stated that I've been ordering from his restaurant for over 17 years and rarely run into problems. But tonight this delay embarrassed me in front of several out-of-town guests who are visiting and who earlier in the day had visited the restaurant at my recommendation. $70 is not a small bill at a pizza restaurant and I wondered if the owner (Dan) was aware of the poor attitude and incompetence issues existing with his manager of five months? I would find that hard to believe! So sorry Bacino, your normal five stars dropped to one star. And in your world of greater consumer choices and intense competitive pressure in the deep dish world, this can not happen too often. And yes, I know your year's success is based not on guys like me only buying $70 of pizza or others buying your $5 slice but instead Pitch Fork or Lollapalooza (I forget which one you supply). However don't forget the lesson your old neighbor Enzo taught you, that selling the festival is great but sometimes is not enough to carry you when your employees fail you and let you down. And buy the way, tonight's poor experience really left a terrible taste in my mouth and not even your tasty pizza and salad helped remove it.

Even though I've never been too Bacino's, I've had their taste portion deep dish spinach at the Taste of Chicago, AND OH MY GOD IS IT DELICIOUS! I'm not kidding, when I used to go to the Taste of Chicago(I don't anymore) Bacino's was always the first stand I would look for. I used to take the South Shore to Van Buren and if I remember correctly, Bacino's was always set up on the northwest corner of Columbus and Jackson. For the longest time I've been wanting to make it to their restaurant. I haven't yet, but I will eventually. I can't wait to check out what other delicious items they have on their menu! Edwardo's Pizza has an excellent deep dish spinach pizza too, but still not as good as Bacino's.

As a pizza connoisseur, i wanted to try this place out for the first time. A group of friends and I came to try this place out because i heard so many good things about it. So here's my take on Bacino's... First, the restaurant itself is old and nothing special to look at. In fact, tables are cramped in and you'll be bumping into the people behind you every time you need to get up. A 4/top is extremely cramped with two medium pizzas on it. Second, the pizza itself must have sat out before they brought it out to the table. The cheese wasn't cheesy, and the pizza itself wasn't piping hot. and it also took twice as long to come out to the table. The server said allow 30-35 minutes for the pizza to come out. It took an hour for both pies to come to the table. Maybe something to do with the service itself. As far as taste, not Chicago's best, if you're looking for Chicago's best there are many better pizza joints. As far as pricing, on the more expensive end of pizza and expect to pay full price even for half toppings (ridiculous) we did a half specialty spinach pizza and the other half with two toppings and said "since im paying full price for the toppings, i want the full portion of both on that side" and portions were very very light. The second pizza was no different, both came out together, both nothing special, both were not hot at all. To give you an idea, an appetizer, a medium and a small deep dish, and three drinks with tip over $100-ridiculous. Now service, one would think with what you payed for the food, that you'd get dazzled with the service and the service was the worst of all of the aspects of the evening. The server was inattentive and he disappeared for 30+ minutes at one point, even things such as refills when he would come to the table we would have to ask for. Even seeing, or expecting him to see the empty glasses, he still didn't ask if we needed refills. In any event, if you got money to burn, time to waste, and don't really care about the taste of your food, then by all means go there. But if you're looking for some truly great pizza, you can't go wrong with Malnati's or Pequod's and probably save a few bucks as well.

I had to try their stuffed pizza while visiting Chicago. The service was friendly. I got there a bit early since no one was there besides another family. It was good but ever since I ate at Lou Malnati's, I couldn't really enjoy the pizza. The tomato sauce didn't have the tangy kick like what I had at Lou Malnati's. I feel bad for comparing but I can't lie that this place just had okay pizza.

Really good deep dish and spinach-artichoke dip. Our waiter, whose name I forgot, was really nice. However, there was a tall blondish dude who also worked there who was just talking smack about one of his coworkers to all of the others the entire time and that got old really quick. I definitely don't go out to eat so that I can be inundated with the establishment's drama.

Can we say AWESOME!!! Corporate training brought me to the Windy City. Hunger with a couple of eager young guys to eat and drink with brought me to Bacino's of Lincoln Park. We had a great waitress named Lauren. Lauren just moved to Chicago from Ireland. She had a great accent.I had ordered a Chicago style deep dish - Bacino's Specialty with Spanish and Cheese. It was beautiful made, and I loved it. I only got to eat 2 pieces from the small because it was so filling, but it was well worth the price. I am not a big drinker but this night was kismet and I found Hard Cider to be my friend. I asked for a tiny sample- a sip, and Lauren brought me this flute of ACE PERRY hard cider. It was so refreshing and it went really well with my pizza pie. I now had to buy a pint of the hard cider, because I was hooked. It is on tap. Oh how I wish that there was a Bacino's in San Diego! I also ordered the flourless chocolate cake, very good.

I am going to say the only bad thing of this review was trying to find parking. The good: everything else Our waiter was super knowledgable about the food and the beer. He suggested that since we were getting the stuffed pizza, it would be best to get beers and an appetizer. All I said is that we wanted local brews and he pointed us to his personal favorites, and let me tell you he hit it right on the head! His service was great, the pizza was phenomenal (get a size bigger than you think for the day after). The waiter even helped hold the pizza just right so I could get the perfect shot to send to all of my friends. This was by far the best dine-in pizza experience I had in a long time. Well worth the money!

As Chicago deep dish pizza goes, this is excellent. The ambiance is understated, casual, and fun. Not fine dining by any means, but a worthwhile stop for pizza and appetizers. Good wine list as well.

I can't give enough stars! We were so lucky to have stumbled upon this place. My boyfriend's parents ended up speaking to the owner John McMahon who was originally from their home town of Peoria, IL. It's a small world. John brought us 4 hot chocolates on the house since we came in from the 21° weather. Our spinach, mushroom and cheese stuffed pizza was the BEST we had ever eaten! It was better than Lou Malnati's and Giordano's...sorry to say. John told us about how particular he is with sourcing his ingredients and not only use he use 100% REAL CHEESE but especially made for him. He also has stayed loyal to a California tomato grower ;-) Real people. Real good food.

Smaller establishment with friendly, helpful service and great pizza! We started with some hot wings which were good, pretty standard--and then went with the stuffed spinach pizza and added some Italian sausage. It was fantastic. We came at a not busy time, but the pizza came out quickly and our server, Tom, helped expertly dish it out with his deft hands. The spinach is NOT overwhelming or gross as spinach can sometimes be, there was plenty of delicious cheese, and a perfect amount of sauce. As far as crust goes: one of the best I've had. Crispy, not soggy, not too thick or thin, and with an almost flaky texture. High five, Bacino's. The beer selection is also extensive so go crazy. There is a large room downstairs that would be great for parties which is also where the bathrooms are located. There's only stairs to get down there though so I'm gonna go ahead and say they are not handicap accessible as far as I can tell. Five Stars for Tom as well. You go, Tom.

Bacino's is probably some of my favorite deep dish pizza in Chicago. The portabella panini is also delish and though I usually get the side salad, the fries are also really good. I usually go for delivery or carry out, but ate in for the first time this last weekend. Service was fine and restaurant was relatively quiet which was nice. I was pleasantly surprised by their drink prices and opted for a flight of 4 beers for only $5. Our table of 4 left stuffed for under $80. Tip: You can actually some things (two free toppings or a free side of wings with large thing crust 2 topping pizza) with 10 Belly points here whereas most other Belly accepting places seem to be 25-30 point minimum.

Can I just first say, I hate square-cut pizza! It reminds me of being at a kid's birthday party. When I order a sheet pizza, I understand that the slices will be square. It's a rectangle. That's basic geometric understanding. So when I order a circular pie, how come that same understanding doesn't apply?? Long story short, you have to specify pie-cut if you order a pizza pie. On to the actual pizza....ordered an Italian special thin crust for delivery. Pizza came in a reasonable time, however I'm guessing we were either the last stop on multiple stops or they didn't immediately put our pizza out for delivery as soon as it was done. I know this because of the cheese. They layer it on thick so you know fresh out of the oven it's really gooey, but by the time it got to us it had hardened. Plus, the box that it came in was lukewarm. I probably won't order delivery again. Maybe I'll eat in there, but doubtful anytime soon.

WHY I WENT THERE: I had actually been to this same location during a visit in 2013, primarily because I (a) wanted deep dish, (b) firmly believe that any city cuisine duopoly--e.g. Gino's East and Lou Malnati's--makes the "#3 spot" the preferred option, and (c) found that this place has "heart healthy" status as bestowed by the chicago heart association. As far as I can tell, that means that the cheese is spiced with spinach. AMBIANCE: Casual, neighborhood pizza joint. FOOD: Split the spinach pizza, which was fantastic. My group described the crust as "graham cracker", and the filing was appropriately hot and savory. For appretizers, we sampled fried ravioli and chicken wings, both of which were tasty but not as memorable as the main event. If you want to eat light, this is NOT your place. DRINKS: Meager draft selection, but the can/bottle selection is a good representation of the Midwest beer scene. SERVICE: Appropriate for a place this casual. SPONTANEITY FACTOR: You can go there at the drop of a hat. SUMMARY: In the battle of "best deep dish in Chicago", this place is not at the top of the list, but that's its strength--they can focus on the food, not the tourism.

I ordered two large half baked then frozen pizza's on line to take to my cousin in Colorado a week before Christmas. When I arrived to pick them up, I was told that they raised their prices a few weeks before, but hadn't updated their website, so my $24 pizza's were now $29. I think they should have honored the price on the website. not simply given me the friend and family discount of a few bucks. Also there weren't any directions for finishing the baking process. Not impressed.

Simply amazing! The stuffed spinach pizza was worth the drive across town, parking 3 blocks away, risking getting towed and driving back to my hotel as quickly as possible to get a bite of this delicious pie! When I picked it up, I swear that it weighed 5 lbs, which had to be the cheesy hot mess that awaited - YUM!! :)

What a great place! I had been craving Chicago deep dish pizza all week and this hit the spot. It's a cute place. The service was great! Very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Great food...definitely order the special pizza. So yummy!!

Waited a hour and 45 minutes for a delivery and when I called they started explaining why it was taking so long, but they weren't even explaining my order, they had the wrong customer information. When I then mentioned how long it had been for delivery and I didn't want a cold pizza delivered, the person on the phone was rude and hung up on me. I will never give them my business again. Terrible customer service!

Would have been 2.5 stars but this place knows what customer service is. I ordered the Bacino's Special stuffed, 2 their special pies (take note of this) and gave me a side of peppers instead I don't know why you can't add to their specials but it is what it is. Ordering is easy & customer service is great Delivery guy shows up and rather than delivering to my door, calls me and asks me to come to the lobby of my building to pick up my pizza (I hate when drivers do this). He forgets to deliver the side of Giardiniera but I didn't notice till I got back up to my place. I call back and the guy on the phone pretty much assured me that he would make sure I get the peppers b/c I paid for them, he sends the driver back with the remainder of my order. The pizza is awesome! Delivery can improve, phone ordering was surprisingly easy and nice.

**** Edit: Owner of Bacinos called us and apologized. Offered good explanation, refunded our card and gave us a credit. However, it took over another month to get the credit and I had to contact them again. Boo. ******************** Instead of writing a review, I'm going to cut and paste an email I sent them about their service this weekend. They charged us for a pizza that they never delivered. They won't reverse the charge either. I've been eating here for 20 + years, its too bad. Attn Manager: On Sunday we ordered from Bacinos around 1ish and were given a 1:15 quote. It was the air and water show and you guys were busy. We called back after an hour and half and were told our order hadn't gone out but it would be to us within 15-20 minutes. We called back after 2 full hours. The person who answered the phone was Steve. He apologized but told me our order still had not gone out. He said that his driver also was not back. I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life, and worked in service for 8 years. I know it was a busy day and traffic was bad, etc. But we should have been called at 2 hours. I told Steve that I wish he'd let us know, so we could have had other lunch plans and I cancelled the order. I was disappointed we didn't get a call or a comp or a percentage off, or anything. But you run your place as you see fit. However, the charge... for the pizza, was not reversed. The name is (our name and contact info here). The charge was for $31.78. We've been eating at Bacinos for over 20 years... I'd like the charge reversed immediately. We can ask our CC company but it doesn't seem like we should need to. I'd also like an answer to this email in the next day... if you're unable to do it, Ill call our CC and you will lose us, along with many others as customers.

I stopped in for a quick bite before heading to the airport. The food and service was great! I had the bird on the grill panini and my buddy had the Cavatapi Con Pollo which was excellent! If I had more time I would've tried the stuff pizza. I will definitely come back to this place and try other items on the menu too! Place was clean, cozy & casual.

Perfectly balanced stuffed pizza with a great ratio of cheese to sauce to dough. The only downside to Bacinos is having to decide between the stuffed supreme and stuffed spinach/mushroom. And if you're in the mood for some wine, the Catena Malbec is a perfect pairing!

Bacino's used to be my go to place, right around the corner and usually delivery within 30 min no longer then 45. Recently the deliveries have been much longer and the quality has suffered. My last order was called in at 6:45 PM and I was still waiting at 8:00 PM. We called to find out what was going on and were given a bunch of BS like the driver just left he is on his way. Once the guy arrives 90 min later the box looked like someone stepped on it. I opened it and half the pie was stuck to the top not to mention ice cold. I attempted to send it back with the driver and he said I need to call. He even denied any fault as he blamed the guy at the restaurant. I refused delivery and called immediately I spoke to a manager who gave attitude and had to be convinced that the order was completely wrong. After a long deliberation he reluctantly agreed to send another pie. 30 more min have passed without any dinner. Remove the Bacino's menu from your drawer. They have lost my business.

One of my favorite pizza places. The stuffed sausage and mushroom pizza is delicious and the crust holds up very well to the abundant toppings and sauce. It also warms up very well in the oven the next day. 325 for 20-25 minutes and it tastes as good as fresh. They also have a very nice assortment of beers on tap and in bottles. Service has always been good and friendly whenever we've been there.

We had the stuffed pizza with sausage and mushroom. I thought the crust was very good - nice and crispy. We ate in so I'm not sure the crispiness would have been the same if we did carryout or delivery. The cheese was REALLY superior to other deep dish pizza places. Nice and soft and velvety but not salty. Could have had more sausage on the pizza - thought that was a little sparse. The house salad was good also. It was very fresh with the most delectable little house made croutons/crostini. If they bagged these, I would eat them like chips! Bacino's now falls 3rd in my list of fav Chicago deep dish/stuffed effectively shoving out Lou Malnati's. #1 is still My Pie for superior crust, excellent sausage and epic sauce. #2 is Gulliver's.

its currently freezing and drizzling outside, but i decided to use this "3 dollar off 15" coupon i got in the mail. i walked over to pick up a medium spinach supreme thin crust pizza and a side of meatballs. Worth the 10 min walk and i would order again.

This is a hidden gem in Lincoln Park with designer pizza. The service was awesome 'with a great smile' though we had some hungry kids. They catered to the needs of the kids and adults. Some great wheat beer on the menu.

I have been frequenting Bacino's for about 30 years or so. Their pizza is what I grew up on and thus it is what I define as "Chicago-style deep-dish pizza". It's so good. The crust is buttery, the sauce has just the right level of sweetness and the sausage is stellar. The creamy garlic salad dressing is wonderful too! (I can't get it here!) I live far away now. Every time I visit Chicago we schedule at least one night to have dinner at Bacino's. I have even flown back to California with some of their half-baked pizzas to enjoy at a later date! I have never had delivery of a deep dish pizza, but I would think it wouldn't be anywhere as near as good as an in-restaurant experience. Just my two-cents.

My aunt took me here when I was in town visiting her. I died when I ate the Chicago style pizza. It even tasted awesome the next day when I re-heated the leftovers. I also loved their craft beer selection. My old fashioned parents asked for Bud Light and I had to crack up when the waitress had to tell them that they don't carry beers like that. So they had to "suffer" with high quality craft beers. I am happy that they were able to give them a little education on beers.

We live in MN but every time we visit Chicago we make a stop at Bacino's. And we always have deep dish pizza (although my brother raved about the spaghetti which was a good sized portion). My favorite is sausage, garlic, mushroom and green olive. The key is that the garlic compliments the light, tomato sauce on the pizza. They also have beer flights but stay away from the two rabbits - it tastes like lemon pee. ;)

I ordered an individual deep dish supreme spinach pizza with mushroom, and it was awesome. The pizza was excellent, the box is cute, the service is great and it's pretty cheap. I also ordered a tiramisu, and it was very good too, and pretty big for the price. I recommend this place!

Overpriced pizza. Their deep dish is good, but nothing to run home about. It's really the only thing worth ordering. Otherwise, their regular pizza (or thin crust) is near $20 with tax and tip for a large. You could get a medium, 2-topping from across the street for a third of the price at Dom___o's and tasting better. Don't quite get the management and servers in here. None of them are Italian or even from Chicago and they are quite rude. They have coupons on their menus but never mention those even when you are local. Oh, and we were served dirty classes. Check out the picture. All in all, go somewhere else.

Maybe I came on a off night but I certainly wouldn't suggest this place if I was out with friends and we had other options. I ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was cold. I sent it back and 10 minutes it comes back hot and chewy. Clearly it had been warmed up in the microwave making it chewy and inedible. I was able to get my servers attention and he confirmed it was warmed up. Initially I asked that he please replace my order with a fresh batch bit on second thought, just canceled the order. For my entrée I ordered the thin crust with truffle oil, it had a a unique name which escapes me at the moment. It was really good. My sister got stuffed spinach with mushrooms and it was ehh... Lastly my son got a thin crust with sausage and cheese, which tasted pretty avaergae. I admit I wasn't expecting fireworks but the thing that disappointed me the most was the service. Again, I am hoping it was an "off" night but or server wasn't very attentive. He never followed up with me on the Gelato I asked about and we had to find him to return the calamari. So my typical 20% turned into a 15% tip. I may try another location because I heard such great things about this location but the Lincoln Park location gets a C-. Oh and one last thing , there was 1 toliet. Not one for women and one for men but ONE bathroom. This place is too big to only have one toilet people.

Food wise it's four star.... Not having enough time but hungry we wanted to buy slices of pizza. The lady said slices are for to go orders only. we ask for an exception she said no can do. She will not allow us to sit there plus at that time their slice choices were vey limited. So we had no choice but to order a whole pizza. She showed us to the dining area and of course there were only one other party there. We wanted the deep dish but she told us it will take 30 minutes. So we opt for thin crust and well unlucky for us that also took 30 mins or more. A group of people sat behind us 10 minutes after we ordered but somehow they got their pizza first. Hungry and disappointed by our experience we were hoping the food was good. When it finally came out the pizza was piping hot.. Too hot to eat, so we had to wait for it to cool down a little. Finally time to take a bite, super delicious, their cheese, and sausage plus veggies were so amazingly good. I was very surprised by their crust it was perfect crisp. Overall if u didn't feel force to order a whole pizza I would have given them a higher Rating.

Decided to order pizza from Bacino's tonight since I had a coupon for $3.00 off. I had never ordered from there before and decided to give it a try solely due to the coupon. (I mentioned the coupon when I placed the order.) The pizzas arrived when they said it would, but after I signed the receipt, gave the driver the coupon, and he left, I noticed the $3.00 were not taken off of my bill. After eating the very mediocre pizzas (and when I say mediocre, I'm being generous), I called Bacino's to inform them that the discount had not been applied. The man who answered the phone put me on hold then came back and said there was nothing he could do since the bill was closed out. I don't believe that for a second. He could always have issued a credit to my credit card. He said to mention the coupon the next time I order. There won't be a next time. Apparently my return business is not worth $3 to them. In short, I found the pizzas to be not great and I found their customer service to be unacceptable.

Absolutely the best stuffed pizza in the city. I took out of town guests here and we ordered the stuffed spinach with mushroom. The cheese they use is heart healthy cheese, something they are known for and I think it taste better than other cheeses used by other pizza places. I also think the tomato sauce is the best I've ever had. This is amazing pizza and I would skip Gino's and other pizza places located downtown and come here. My out of town guests loved the pizza. They had stuffed pizza for the first time and it was a very memorable experience for them. I highly recommend all you Chicago tourists to come here. If your staying downtown , you'll need to cab it, it's worth it. You can call ahead and preorder on the phone and you'll have only a short wait for your pizza when you arrive. One more thing this is the pizza they serve at the Taste of Chicago, but without the mushrooms, just stuffed spinach, so if u can't make it to the taste in the summer, it's here all year round. Service is also good. We all had a nice walk thru lincoln park to get there , but if you drive parking may be difficult. The also have a good selection of beers.

I use to work across the street from Baccinos. I walked in for lunch with friends and had the Penne Al Forno. 2 years ago!! Now STAY AWAY!! at least from delivery standpoint. I moved location and there are times I crave the Penne. So I have it delivered, yet WHAT A BUNCH OF CROC! The delivery guy (not being racist) he is an Asian who had been there since I remember. Always has such a stink face, like he hates being there. Attitude to the 10th power. Tried to be nice but NADA. So this guy is the man who brings my food?? :\ He always forgets to place something that he should know would go in the bag. Not only, when calling the place and calling them on it. I get an attitude. REALLY?? The service I remember was not good, always took long to come get our order or was rude. I wondered why no one really was there during lunch hour. The pizza is okay. Definitely not the best. (GINO'S EAST IS) I gave them 2 chances to redeem themselves and now BLAH! Over it. I suggest you don't go here.

This place reminds of my youth. One of my favorite pizza parlors I used to frequent when I was a teen. My fellow cheerleader friends and I would go to after a weekend game. We would get our pizza, a picture of root beer and some fries and have a blast. There was a juke box (5 plays for quarter) that played some awesome tunes. Back to reality, my date and I ordered a deep dish with spinach, which happened to be their specialty. The pizza was well made with fresh ingredients. We had wine, it was decent. Finally, dessert which was tiramisu and it was very good. The server and host were very helpful and friendly. I had a pleasant experience here.

Sunday is our "Pizza Night" and we try to order from a different place every other week or so. This past Sunday, we were hankerin' for a deep dish pizza, and decided to give Bacino's a try. I ordered a deep dish pepperoni pizza and side of garlic bread over the phone, charging about $28.00 to my card. The delivery was pretty speedy- about 45 mins. The pizza was really, really good. Probably some of the best deep dish I have had in the city. I am a cheese person and the pizza was oozing with so much cheese, it was hard to chew at times. There was a lot of sauce and a generous amount of pepperoni, and it had a blend of spices that added great flavor. The crust was good too! The garlic bread was nothing special, but complimented the pizza nicely. The delivery person brought coupons to use for our next order--, which will probably be soon.

Being an east coast transplant, there are a few things that I am picky about and pizza is one of them. I have the blessing/curse of living less than a block away from Bacino's and I may be their best customer. They do pizza right and do both Chicago style deep dish and New York style thin crust. I usually get the thin crust with pepperoni and sausage. They put the toppings under the cheese and it is to die for. Don't get me wrong, no pizza can compare to my hometown pizza shop pies... I still don't get cutting pizza in squares????... but Bacino's comes closest. Definitely your best bet.

What a shot in the dark. My girlfriend and I wanted to have a light dinner before going out for the night and we happened to have stumbled upon this joint. She took a glance at the menu that was posted on the front of the restaurant and noticed that they served calamari fritti, which is something that I have been craving. We ordered one order of the fried calamari. My girlfriend ordered a bowl of the soup of the day, which was Minestrone, and we split a personal-size stuffed spinach pizza (I told you, we had a really light dinner!). Anyway, the server brought out the fried calamari and my girlfriend and I both looked at each other right away in secret agreement. They. Use. Frozen. Fried. Squid. How did we know that they didn't use fresh calamari? Hmm, where are the tentacles? They are nowhere to be found. The calamari was a dark-golden brown and heavily breaded. Initially, I wasn't bothered at first since I just wanted to satisfy my craving for calamari fritti, so I ravenously shared the appetizer with my lady. The calamari plate did come with a small serving of salad greens, so I didn't feel too bad about taking in mostly fried breading and oil. My lady's soup was "mediocre, at best." We weren't in a hurry to leave, but it took a while to get our personal-size pizza. We were both quite disappointed with the pizza. Mind you, once you've had pizza from Lou Malnati's, you, too, will become pizza snobs like ourselves (heh!). No, seriously, folks. The personal pizza at this place was far below mediocre. The crust was so dry, it was like eating saltine crackers. At least saltines had flavor. The pizza pie was split into 4 slices, but I only ate one, in disappointment. The cheese in the pizza was pretty good, but every other disappointing element just overshadowed the good qualities. To make matters worse, the service was lacking. I don't mean to sound like a stickler, but I think that once a patron finishes his or her glass of water, you need to refill it before the glass is empty. I was in such need to quench my thirst after munching on the dry crust. We were already ready to pay for our less than satisfying light meal. Our waitress was nowhere to be found for a short while. We just left in huge disappointment. If you want authentic stuffed pizza, go to Lou Malnati's. I'm still looking for that great plate of real calamari fritti. Any ideas?

Love it. My first 'real' Chicago deep dish experience. We settled on the broccoli deep dish (aka stuffed pizza)... and man was it stuffed! I think shock and awe are the only words to describe my feeling when seeing what they brought out. Huge is an understatement. The second I saw how thick the slices were and the gooey cheese filling oozing out the sides... I immediately questioned our decision to order a second pie (thin crust - cheese)... silly us for thinking one large stuffed would not be enough. I think I was full before even making it through my one stuffed slice... yet I still tried to down one of the thin slices as well. Managed about 3/4 of it before deciding I had to stop. Moral of the story, stick with the deep dish. It will definitely fill you up and it is by far superior to the thin crust. But luckily, our leftovers transported well and did make for good late night snacks and breakfast back at the hotel!

Every time my parents come into town, I take them to Bacino's for some pizza, wine, and beer. Their gorgonzola mixed green salad is always a staple in our order. It is perfectly mixed with caramelized pecans and crispy mixed green greens. No browned, soggy lettuce up in here. The deep dish pizza? Always cooked to perfection, crispy crust with gooey cheese dripping from every bite. To please everyone, we usually get the spinach or veggie, which are consistently scrum-diddley-umptous. There is also a little bar connected to the dining area where you can grab a beer of mixed drink while you wait. Being right on Lincoln Ave also helps, good for people watching and spying on passersby. Although there is usually not a long wait, there has been a couple times I wanted to go back there and steal someones pizza after waiting in hunger for so long. However, on one occasion, the manager saw me drooling on myself and brought us out free complimentary beer and wine. I immediately felt better. I definitely recommend this place for some great Chicago pizza and cozy dining.

Their special spincah - stuffed or pan (whatever they call it) is heavenly!!!! yet a bit hellish as you can tell it is not good for you in anyway. The crust and the filling go so well together. It is like pizza stuffed with spinach and cheese apitizer dip. Amazingly tasty and when I want to be bad- they are one of the places I'll call! If you have no worries about your calorie intake- YOU MUST TRY THIS PIZZA! (not sure about their other pies... but the spinach special is the one to at least start with).

You know what? This is pretty darn good pizza. I was a little skeptical, but both the thin crust and the "stuffed" are good enough to be ordered from time to time. The crust was really nice and airy--very different from some of the other deep dish crusts in the area--and the cheese tasted very nice. I also ate an Italian beef sandwich here, and it was pretty tasty too. The bread was excellent, and the beef had an interesting spicy note to it. I really liked too that it wasn't super-wet, but came with a cup of the juice, so you could wet it to your tastes. All in all, a nice experience eating at this place. We'll most likely be eating this pizza again.

Good pizza here, some of their selections are advertised as "heart healthy", I think those include any pizzas where greasy processed meats are absent. Their dining area is pretty casual, I've not recently experience any sort of wait for a table, though perhaps I have just been lucky in that regard...

Yum yum for the tum!! Best stuffed Pizza in town! I've been coming here for the past 11 years and I love it as much as I did the first day I went! needless to say I have made some good friends and family fans too!! You have to try their Bacino's Special stuffed Pizza, spinach cheese garlic bread and their Salads are great!! Their wine list isn't great and a bit to pricey for the quality of the wine.

Love their Point 2012 Black Ale on tap from WI (black, fizzy, slightly sweet, nice caramel -will seek this one out next time I'm at Binny's. 2nd time here at Bacino's. Tried their thin crust since I didn't want to get too stuffed/full this evening for some reason. Flavorful toppings, enjoyed their sauce. Thin crust is just as good as the stuffed pizza here. Recommended.

Behold the power of Groupon. I got sucked in by the amazing deal last year, and I got hooked. The stuffed crust is otherworldly, mostly due to their divine cheese, with a nod to their tangy, chunky tomato sauce and their crunchy, flavorful crust. They even do individual stuffed crust pizzas for around $6. Pretty sure I'd be at least two pounds lighter right this second if not for Bacino's. Damn you, delicious Bacino's.

Best stuffed pizza in the city...Any of the Bacino chains are hands down my favorite pizza in the city. Their stuffed spinach supreme with fresh mushrooms (optional) is to die for. I love the flavorful crust and fresh tomato sauce. All of the i I have yet to find a stuffed pizza that beats Bacino's taste and quality. My friend and I ordered delivery from this location a few weeks ago. The pizza arrived in a timely fashion and met all of my expectations.

LOVE this place. Great Chicago pizza (both thin and stuffed) and excellent customer service. I just held a bachelorette party here for 20 girls, and they gave us the basement room private - very spacious and cozy, staff was extremely accommodating and helpful!

I went here on a food tour. They were good with service, although we did have a reservation. They had a "healthy" deep dish... you just wonder how healthy can it be. I mean is it just healthier than other options? I was surprised though; I would never order spinach in my pizza and now I'm a fan. I'm actually ordering for my family back on the East coast. They do deliver long distance!!

The pizza is wonderful, of course. But if you're not in the mood for pizza, try the sandwiches (especially the Botticelli) and the pasta dishes (I love the one with sausage and peas). They're very good, too. :)

i absolutely love this place. way better than it's sister just south of the river. it's quite simple: american pizza is the best in the world, chicago pizza is the best in america, and bacino's is the best deep dish in chicago. my suggestion: keep your deep dish simple. if you add too much you start to lose the amazing flavor of their sauce, and lose the texture of their crust. i usually go for a plain ol' cheese, or when i'm with other people who demand somthing on their pizza, i go for spinach and mushroom. mmmm!

we tried the deep dish pizza with pepporoni and sausage, it was good, but, I thought there was a bit too much cheese on it! & I really enjoy cheese. so, I would try a different place next time...

Wow. Was excited to try this place being the our house is very close and we have never tried it. Pulled up and walked around the corner to see what the wife and kids wanted me to order and the owner runs out questioning me on his loading zone that he pays for. They should win an award for being the fastest in Chi Town to deliver poor hospitality. What a great example this man must be for his team.

I know a lot of people love and praise this place, but to me it came off like every other Americanized pizza joint. Typical menu and flavors. I thought the pizza was ok, but I've had better. Maybe I'm too picky, but if I wanted pizza, this isn't a spot I'd be rushing off to. I think Bacino's is ideal for those who don't want any kind of fancy or "old world" kind of pizza or Italian. It's the place to go if you want Americanized Italian food. Heaps of pasta with sauce, big thick greasy pizza, beer, etc. Not my thing, but I'm sure the Lincoln Park bar crowd would love this spot.

Best pizza I have ever had in my LIFE!!! And I have eaten a lot of pizza. My only regret is there is no Bacino's in San Francisco, but I will fly to Chicago just for a Bacino's stuffed pizza.

As a person who doesn't really love the whole deep dish thing, I tried this pizza on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I had a slice of the spinach pizza and it was so cheesy and amazing! I will definitely come here again.

Small old place but the wine list is good with reasonably priced bottles. Food was great! Got the calamari and prosciutto pizza. Actually came here cause everything else on Lincoln was close during lunch. Happy I stopped by! Friendly staff as well! Wish the windows were open but understand cause the weather kinda sucked.

#1 in Lincoln Park for a reason...everything good even for delivery. The paninis are even crispy. I get the pizza without cheese (lactose intolerant) and even it is still good. Also one of the few places i will order a salad from for delivery :)

Bacino's was my favorite pizza place the first year I moved here, because it was close and always open. With that said, and a recent visit, I found the staff to be less than on pointe. We waited quite a while for our server. If I'm ordering a stuffed pizza, I like to get the order in asap, because it takes forever to bake. Waiting longer than usual is not cool. Also, we were seated in a booth, which didn't have much room. I was quite squished, and I'm averaged sized. I wondered how on earth larger people could even be seated there. I will give Bacino's props for tasty pizza. Their stuffed spinach is my favorite.

My first introduction to Chicago-style pizza was at Zachary's...in the Bay Area. When I came here and had Gino's and Giordano's, I didn't think they were that good, but I stumbled on Bacino's with some visitors, and it was the best Chicago deep dish I'd had actually in Chicago. The broccoli Bacino was great, and the visitors had cheeseless vegetarian. Everyone was happy. Good beer selection too.

Bacinos (of LP)! What can I say? The pizza that me and a fellow pizza connoisseur ordered for delivery was phenomenal! I had heard much of the deep dish, but we went for the thin crust with g-peppers, italian sausage, and pepperoni. This choice I do not regret, I dare say it was the best I have had in this fine city so far!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
