What else can I say about this place that hasn't already been said.. This is my 3rd time going but my first time reviewing. It deserves a review!! Burgers are juicy, fresh, flavorful!! This time i tried the hash brown burger. Although it was delish, I think i'll stick to the burger with the bun. The burgers come with a pickle but if you're a pickle fan, make sure you order the bread and butter pickles. They're a MUST!! The ambience is sexy, lights are dim and the play a nice mix of neo-soul/hip hop/edm type music. Great date place!! Be advised that if yu go during prime hours there is a MAYJAH wait so be prepared and they don't take reservations.

Went to Au Cheval last night in hopes of finally trying this super hyped up supposedly delicious burger. I was fully prepared for a 2+ hour wait and planned accordingly. We put our name in at 7:30 (2 people) and were told roughly 2 - 2 1/2 hour wait. We returned at 9:30 and were told it would be another hour. No problem. We went to a nearby friends house and waited for the "text" we were supposed to receive. We never received a text or call. After a 5 hour wait we finally called it quits and ate something else. What kind of restaurant would just totally disregard someone like that? I don't care if its the best burger on earth, I will never be back

I had originally thought, "how good (or bad) could a burger be? They're all kind of awesome." The answer to my question is REALLY GOOD. Does not even compare to any burger I've eaten before. The egg and bacon are musts. I would describe the flavor if I could, but it wouldn't do it justice. Great prices, long waits (I got there at 4:58 on a Thursday and waited 1.5 hours). Worth every penny, every second, every calorie.

So the burger is really really good. And so is the playlist / music -- but a two, three hour wait?? I'm not sure that it lives up to that kind of wait. Best idea is go, put your name down with phone number in PERSON and then do some shopping or something. Just don't go expecting to eat straightaway. Good food and service but wasn't like blown away...

While doing some late night wandering around Randolph St some friends and I stumbled upon Au Cheval. The bar is smaller then some of the others in the area, but the atmosphere is great, with plenty of booths for groups of friends grabbing drinks. The bar had plenty of seating for smaller groups or those enjoying a beverage solo. Service was quick, cocktails were tasty, and the burger and fries were the best decision I made that night. Definitely stop in here for drinks AND even better- for a late night dinner/snack- when checking out bars on Randolph st.

I give this place 3 stars and that is being generous because the waiter was nice. I def do not see what all the fuss of this place is about. The two-three hour wait for this OK burger is beyond ridiculous. I have had much better minus the wait. The music was good and I liked the old school record player they had. Oh and the pickle back shots were good as well! Tip: your wait will be a little shorter if u wait for the 4 stools along the left side of bar to open up. Those are first come first serve.

Overall: Lives up to the well deserved hype. Worth every greasy, delicious, unhealthy bite. A Chicago must! The good: One of the best burgers I've had in a long time, if ever. The bacon was phenomenal on the burger, and the egg was amazing. The sides, especially the duck fat hash browns with egg, were perfection. The wings, like all the above, were the bomb. Service was friendly. Neat and cozy atmosphere. The bad: Small space for dining. The lighting was a bit too low. The AC was dripping right on me at times. Obviously the wait is ridiculously long, but so worth it. Mashed potatoes were good, but not the best. Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Food: 10/10

This place has mediocre food and makes you 3-6 hours. They need to get over themselves. The only good thing on their menu is bone marrow that cost 17 for one plate. Definitely not worth the price. Never go here unless your a douchebag.

Not that they need help reviews anymore, but this is my favorite food I've ever had in my life. Thanks for kicking ass

This place was good, but my tummy can't handle the grease. :( Cute atmosphere. Long crazy waits. Fries are amazing. The wings were good.
