Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Great place for a slice of pizza! Their slices are large and yummy. Stuffed artichoke was disappointing. The artichoke is completely hidden in bread crumb. Great service! Great lunch spot.

Set oven to 400, that's about how much effort goes into the food. There are so many better pizza places around. Chicken parm sandwich was decent, but pizza, salad, mostaccioli were bad. Also, said pick up would be ready in 30min, it took 50min as I sat and waited.

Delicious thin crust pizza. Thoroughly enjoyed one topped with Italian sausage and giardiniera. Unlike most thin crusts with giard, this stood up to the oil and remained crispy throughout. The giard has a nice kick and features generous slices of veggies. If you're looking for giard on your pizza, you'd be hard-pressed to do better than Armand's. The Italian sausage (Armand's own) presents a nice blend of spices as well. Gary (the owner) is a great guy. He's often around working in a multitude of capacities and is in great spirits. The entire staff is excellent. Although I've only stopped by the pizzeria, they have a generous delivery zone, too. And you simply can't beat the "2 for Tuesdays" deal!

Sorry Armand's - I wanted to love you but your inability to receive my order tonight results in one star, but I will admit you have tasty pizza. I would have loved to enjoy some tonight, which is why I ordered it, but unfortunately, this didn't happen. Had a few friends over for dinner and some football tonight. Everyone was starving but we decided to get Armand's just based on my friend living nearby and being a huge fan. We expected a bit of a wait but we were ready for it. Ordered around 715, order set to arrive around 830. Perfect. 830 comes and goes...so does 845. Around 9, the game is practically over so we call to see what's up. I call the restaurant, the have no record of my order. The woman who answers puts me on hold; then comes back and says that grubhub is on the other line and they never got my order. She's sorry and do I want my food still. At this point we are starving, so yes, still want my food. I politely asked if I would be refunded for my order to apologize for the issues and the epic delay in my meal. She says I will not be refunded if I decide I still want my meal. I understand that I placed the order through grubhub so I get that, but if a restaurant is signing up for this service and allow people to order online, they need to have a working fax machine. I get it, things happen, however I believe at the very least I should have been sent the meal I ordered for free to apologize for the issues but they didn't provide me with that, which is just bad customer service and will result in me not giving them another chance.

By far the best solution for a thin crust pizza that's not your typical MidWest cracker style in the North Center/Ravenswood neighborhood. Great sauce, has a sweetness to it. Quick and hot delivery. For sure you'll want to get the garlic bread with cheese to go with your pie. The meal compliments very well with Netflix and a good Chardonnay...or Old Style. Basically, this pizza takes the shame away from spending a Friday night binging.
(4)Julie R.
Pretty decent slices! Their salads are awesome too; they don't skimp on the good stuff like olives or artichoke hearts. Their garlic dressing is fantastic, too. Take my word for it... Ask for extra on the side!!!

Armand's has started sending out unsolicited text messages advertising their business. Without written consent, this is a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act (CAN-SPAM): consumercomplaints.fcc.g… If you, like me, are receiving this unwanted spam, the FCC recommends that you do NOT reply to the advertisements. Instead, most mobile providers allow you to forward the message to 7726 ("SPAM") to block the sender. You also have the option to file a complaint with the FCC, which will handle the matter of Armand's unwanted messages. There are instructions to do so in the consumer complaints link above. To Armand's owners - I'm not sure where you're buying your telephone numbers from... but this is pretty weak. Find a better way to spend your marketing budget.

Very solid pizza. Crust was thin but had great flavor and good crunch, but not like cracker. 18" is plenty for 3-4 people Ora very hungry 2. Will order again, as this place was just the kind of pizza I was looking for on a lazy Friday night.

I called Armand's on western to order a pizza at 6:45 PM just a simple 1 pie order. I have ordered from them in the past and they even had my information when I called. 90 min later i called to ask where my pizza is and was told they handed my order off to the Division location. I asked why and the woman told me it was a courtesy. She considered herself done with me and basically told me it wasn't her problem now. I asked for the number to division street to investigate. Once I called the division street location I was met with threatening expletives and an invitation to come over so I could get a beating. I just wanted to know where my pizza was. The Western location felt it was now out of their hands and I could just pound sand. I was also charged for the pizza that never came and was told they deleted the charge. We'll see? What a joke...

My family and I walked into Armand's intrigued at the idea the pizzeria has been open since 1956. My mother and sister ordered some pizza by the slice and I ordered the meatball sandwich. The food came out of the kitchen very fast for a pizzeria that had opened only fifteen minutes ago which is a plus! The pizza came out hot and fresh. The meatball sandwich came with some sea salt chips and peppers on the side and a Pepsi. The meatball sandwich was average. However, the bread was very thick and crunchy and enjoyable. My mother and sister being as I call "bird eaters" did not finish the second slice of pizza they had. So, I took the job of finishing it off for them. The pizza on the other hand was stellar. It was a true beauty of a pizza in Chicago. The cheese was just light enough and perfectly topped with pepperoni. As I write this my mother wanted me to add "In the fifteen years I've lived in Chicago this is some of the best pizza I've had in awhile". Halfway through our meal a man with a very nice smile walks in the door and starts talking to my family. He started taking to us and was very friendly. After that, he offered free gelato! My family of course took him up on that offer. My sister got a Vanilla gelato which she said was amazing and I got a Peach gelato. My peach was perfect! It was some great gelato and I was very thankful! Overall, this place has killer pizza, normal other food, and most of all outstanding service. If I lived in the area, I would take advantage of the carry-out or delivery a lot!
(4)Rachel K.
Thin crust pizza with lots of corn meal, not too much sauce or cheese. I wish the sauce had a bit more zip of red pepper, but it's still pretty tasty. The Armand's Salad (not the same as the House Salad), which is huge, is always fresh and tasty with crispy lettuce, fontinella, artichoke hearts, and a few strips of roasted red pepper. One time I paid and then went outside to wait with my dog for my carryout, and when my order was ready, instead of calling me back in or letting my food sit and get cold until I returned, the very nice woman at the counter brought everything outside to me.
(4)John S.
Great pizza delivered hot and fast!! Delicious ingredients and love the corn meal crust!! Delivery guy was very friendly and professional. Love this place!!
(4)SC C.
By far, my favorite go-to delivery spot. Whenever I try a new place, I ended up wishing I'd ordered Armand's instead. Great crust, good sauce, always perfectly cooked - their homemade sausage is especially great. The apps are decent and the mozzarella sticks are good if a bit soggy sometimes. Customer service is solid too and I've never had any issues with delivery.
(5)Cesar R.
Average pizzeria. The pizza and salad was good. It's mostly takeout service but there are a couple of tables to sit at if you wanted to eat there.
(3)El Grande P.
Really good pizza, if you in the area I recommend this place. . Price is not bad at all.
(5)Shanti N.
Armand's was generous enough to donate the food for Open Books' pre-race pasta dinner this evening (Team Bookin' It 4 Lyfe!). The portions were ample and made for a convivial evening of carbo loading or simply appreciating the goodness of Italian comfort food for those who are less than diehard runners. The food itself was straightforward, but the preparation was clearly standout. Even salad, which can be ho-hum, was excellent in this case. The lettuce was crisp and there were plenty of good bits- cucumbers, cheese crumbles, tomatoes, roasted red pepper, and artichoke hearts. There were two pasta selections- a traditional baked ziti with lots of cheesy goodness and a vegan option, featuring sauce and pasta only. The cheese was just the right amount, and not overbearing. The non-cheese option was perfect in its simplicity, as I could appreciate the nuances of the red sauce. The crusty Italian bread was a nice touch and helped sop up some of the pasta sauce. I might add that all of this was carry-out and consumed off premises. The way in which the items were packaged and presented spoke volumes about the level of care that goes into each order. I am grateful to Armand's for supporting this very worthy cause and helping fortify us runners for the race ahead. Knowing this place offers pizza (thin crust!) and by the slice to boot, East Coast style, might prompt me to darken their door sooner rather than later, perhaps for a post-race slice.

Wow! What a wonderful business and team. Food is fantastic. Can't get enough. We'll be back.
(5)Alexis D.
Armand's was quick (40 minutes on a Sunday night) and tasty. It arrived very hot!
(4)S M.
Armand's makes a pretty great thin crust. The sauce is slightly sweet, the cheese is of a soft, gooey, falls-off-the-pizza-before-you-can-pick-it-up consistency. The crust contains generous amounts of cornmeal and butter, but I wish it were a little crispier. I wouldn't call it the best I've ever had, nor would I say that it's quite worth what they're charging for it. But if you're nearby, this place is definitely worth a try. Chances are you'll like it enough to start ordering it regularly.
(4)Chris F.
I would never order from the place again. I tried ordering a pizza for delivery here. I was told a driver would be here in 45 minutes -1 hour. After an hour and a half no one showed up. When I called the restaurant they said the driver came and rang the doorbell which is a complete lie. I even left a phone number and no one even tried to call me. The lady on the phone said they rang the doorbell and tried to call me. Both are not true. Some of the worst service I have ever encountered. No one apologized or tried to make it right. To make it worse by the time I called they said they were closed and can't deliver my order. There are too many great pizza places in Chicago to deal with something like this. I used to love this place but will now be taking my business elsewhere. I've never been one to complain but this was the worst experience I've ever seen with a pizza delivery. Get it together Armand's.
(1)Cary M.
As a Lincoln Square neighbor, I had no idea this place was located near me until last week when they catered the Open Books half marathon pasta party. I am so glad I know they exist now! The pasta was delicious, and the salad was one of the best catered salads I've had! I'm not one to go back for seconds of a salad - I tend to just force myself to eat some veggies to counteract the carbs - but I actually went back for more! Based on the deliciousness of the food, and their generosity for donating our pre-race meal for our small non-profit literacy organization, I can't wait to try out Armand's for dinner sometime very soon!
(4)Mayra R.
Pizza deal is $4.95 for a slice & a can of pop. The slice of pizza that I had was pretty good & at a great price! I liked the sauce & the crust of the pizza. They were also sampling Gelato & it was pretty good. If you are in the neighborhood & looking for a great & savory deal this is it!

Short: Good thin crust pizza that the world's pickiest pizza guy (me) liked. Long: I'm from NJ and MA, so I like East Coast pizza. Unfortunately I haven't like pizza from any place that delivers to our house. Now I don't want to denigrate the local pizza places, I just don't care for them... Better that I would make make personally, and I would never buy pizza made by me. Armands... Now I liked their pizza. I had it the first time 2 weeks ago at a neighbor's house. The crust is very cornmeal'y, not East Coast what's so ever, but had good melted cheese. A little bit of zing to the sauce. Intrigued, I ordered a few pies last week. I am a fan, I will order from them again. I would say that their pizza is like the 'za from Peace which I also like (and who does not deliver to my house). I also like Santullos who 'za has East Coast style crust, but the cheese and sauce is maybe a degree below Armands. I would suggest trying it. ~John

We ordered from Armand's for delivery last week. The reviews seemed mediocre, so we did expect anything super good or bad. And that's pretty much what we got. We ordered a large sausage and spinach pizza with a side of 12 piece buffalo wings. The pizza crust was fine, but we did feel that the cornmeal made too big of an appearance. We all had cornmeal on our fingers and shirts after eating. The sausage was flavorful, but the spinach was the frozen type, dropped on the pizza in clods. We ate the whole pizza, but it certainly was not our favorite pizza in the area. We also ordered buffalo wings, which came with celery and blue cheese dressing. The wings were small and very soggy. The flavor was fine, but they don't really measure up to other wings places in the area. Delivery was a little slow, I think we waited about an hour for the pizza. I would order from Armand's again, in a pinch, but for the most part it was a mediocre experience.

They catered an event I went to last night and I was very impressed! I can't speak to the pizza, but the baked mostaccioli was fantastic, and I consider myself something of a connoisseur of baked mostaccioli. Would definitely order from them again!
(5)Luke M.
Armand's pizza was phenomenal. I ordered the original thin pizza with sausage and everything about it was fresh tasting and authentic. The homemade gelato was a great way to cap off the meal. I highly recommend this place.

Thanks so much to Armand's for donating their delicious pizza, pasta & salad to NPN's 2015 New Year's Celebration!! Food was great and much appreciated!!

I've been eating their pizza since I moved to Chicago more than 20 years ago. Was happy when they opened the take-out location not far from me. All I can say is thank god for them that they make a good Chicago-style thin crust because that's all they have going for them at the Western Ave location. The crew that manage/work this location are the most inhospitable, unfriendly and ignorant suburbanites you could ever come across. Zero personality, completely apathetic to any attempt to engage in friendly and cordial conversation. A simple "hello, how are you?" is almost met with a sort of weird suspicion - very strange vibe in there. Tonight I waited for the cashier to appear for 5 minutes. I could see her in the back watching a video or something on a computer with the manager and another guy. I didn't think much of it, figured my pizza wasn't ready. When she finally came to the front she was carrying my pizza which had been sitting there in a box the whole time. I live less than 2 miles from this location and the pizza was lukewarm to the touch when I got home. As good as the pizza is I will have to give some thought to whether or not I want to give them my business anymore.

Best thing crust in the city, hands down. Reminds me of the old O'Fame back in the day over on Halsted & Webster. I order from here all of the time, too much in fact. It's consistently amazing every time. I've lived in Chicago since '96 and haven't had a better thin crust than Armand's.
(5)Jack P.
I stopped here for a couple of slices. I found out they have the usual cheese, Pepperoni and Sausage choices, with an occasional special. The slices are large and about one quarter of the pizza. Unfortunately, those left late on a Saturday were pretty dried out from hanging out in the little warming booth. But they were still very tasty. And the crust nice and crispy. About $7 bucks for two ample slices. You can also fold them like a New York slice, which is handy. I would not recommend, however, eating a slice while you're driving your five-speed car, no matter how hungry you think you are. No matter how much all that sausage might make you drool. You will end up with spots on your pants. Grease spots. Armand's is definitely a good place for a slice or two. Just get 'em fresh, if you can.
(4)James H.
Middle of the middle of the road classic Chicago pub-style thin crust. I think all these corner pizza places get their crust, sauce, toppings and cheese from the same distributor, which is why they all end up looking and tasting about the same. Just find the one closest to your home.
(3)Karla B.
Despite being born and raised in Chicago, I've never been a fan of deep dish pizza and have searched high and low for a solid thin crust that I can count on. I finally found it in Armand's. Driving by the shop on Western one day, I was enticed to try it for my next delivery. It was so good, I ordered it again the next day. And the following weekend.... I was hooked. But then, there was an incident with one of the orders I placed. Without detailing specifics, I called the shop to complain, and they rectified the issue immediately - with the owner himself driving over a new pie and included a free, and amazingly delicious, tiramisu to boot! I am very impressed with this pizza and it is now my go to for thin crust in Chicago. Do yourselves a favor and try it!! Delicious food and exceptional customer service.
(5)Anthony R.
Armand's typically has excellent food, but this location has screwed up my order too many times and has also used borderline spoiled meat in my Antipasto salads way too many times, which is why I haven't been there in almost 2 years now (yes, maybe it's improved since then, but then again maybe it hasn't). They slice the Antipasto meats too thick and sometimes they put olives and pepperoncini's in it and sometimes they don't. They're very inconsistent in that respect. They were also very inconsistent with their meatball sandwiches too (I ask for extra sauce and instead end up getting none whatsoever). Now, I grew up eating Armand's at the old Grand Ave. location for 30 years so I know exactly what I'm talking about and exactly how the food should be made. The people at this location don't have a clue. In 30 years at the old location, I don't remember them making a mistake EVER! Also, they have their delivery drivers taking orders, which is mind-boggling and probably part of the problem. The best Armand's locations are the Elmhurst location and also the Wicker Pk. location on Division St. I haven't been to any of the other ones. The pizza is excellent though!
(1)Eugene C.
The pizza is not bad. I got a thin sausage, mushroom and green pepper and it was pretty decent. I'd say it's typical middle of the road pizza and sometimes you're in the mood for that. It won't disappoint and it won't overwhelm you. You know what you're getting at a reasonable price. Also The online ordering system is a nice touch. I picked up my order and the service was nice and prompt.
(3)Amir L.
This place has some of the best thin crust pie in the city hands down!! Make sure to order on Tuesdays cuz you get 2 for 1 pies which makes this place an over all 5 star score !!
(5)Michael E.
Really tasty and I love the double crust. They also have a great extra wide pizza for kids parties. Hours are erratic and sometimes they close early which is annoying.
(4)Julee W.
I enjoy stopping at armands for a quick slice. I really like the crust & I never feel heavy after eating here. Keep up the good work!
(5)Erica H.
Simple but tasty homestyle Italian food!
(4)Marshall G.
I've never said this before but a gross fast food chain like Pizza Hut makes better food than Armand's. Flour, water, globs of tasteless cheese and a lack of flavor and outrageous prices are what you can expect from Armand's. Do yourself a favor and go to your neighborhood grocery store and buy a frozen pizza and pay $5 instead of $35 (if you add toppings besides cheese it adds $20, no exaggeration). It will probably taste better too. It baffles me how this chain gets away with ripping off it's customer's by passing off this junk as high-end food.
(1)LeDub Z.
This is a review for the downtown pedway location. I have not been to any other Armand's location. Hmm. I came here because I work in a building connected to the pedway, and I've had my eyes peeled for a spot I can get a slice of pizza. Enter: Armand's Pizzeria! The slices are fairly large, and somewhat reasonably priced. The girl working behind the counter was pleasant and gave my friend and I ranch dressing for free. The good news ends there. The pizza was god awful. It definitely tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. It was soggy and kind of sour. For the record, both my friend and I got the veggie pizza (really glad I didn't go for the meat selections). When you order, they get your pizza from the display and run it thru a little oven. Unfortunately, it was still cold when I got it. I can deal with that, though! The taste was just so bad. I ate about 1/2 then called it quits. About 30 minutes later...well, let's just say that my friend and I had to make a mad dash for the nearest bathroom. I don't know if it was due to grease or ingredients gone bad or if it was becuase the pizzas are pre made and then sit out for who knows how long. I can promise you that I won't be going back, and I've already told everyone I work with to stay away. Yikes.

I am an American, a native of the Midwest, and a Chicagoan of many, many years. Put all that together, and you get someone who knows pizza. Armand's offered a 20% off deal on pizza on election day, Feb. 22. I was serving as an election judge in the 47th ward, only a few blocks from Armand's northside location. When you're an election judge, you're in a room from 5am till probably 8pm. Pizza may be your only hope. We ordered 2 extra-large and 2 large pizzas around 11:15am, and we had them shortly before noon. We had a pepperoni and cheese, a sausage and cheese, a cheese with zucchini and and black olives, and a cheese with onion, green pepper and tomato. They all arrived hot and delicious. I had everything but the sausage. A good portion of the pizzas disappeared at the lunch hour. Later in the afternoon, when citizens of the 47th ward were not coming out in big numbers to vote, we all nibbled on the leftover, cold pizzas. Boy was this good stuff. It was good piping hot, and it was good room temperature. There was nothing left but a piece of crust or two when we cleaned up at the end of our long, long day. When your fellow Americans are blowing off their hard-won right to vote aa people in the Middle East are, literally, dying to have a vote, pizza may not make everything better, but it sure helps. My only regret is, I will have to eat broccoli for the rest of the week so I don't have a big gain when I weigh in at Weight Watchers next week. But sometimes, you just gotta have pizza.
(4)Chas S.
We have block parties with the neighbors nearly every Friday weather permitting. We used to get some cheap-o football pizzas to feed everyone, but at some point we started to rethink the quality. After all, you can't drink all night on an empty stomach! Armand's location on Western is great for delivery, and their "yard" pizza, while not exactly inexpensive, sure feeds a few. The taste? Zero complaints. The sausage half VANISHED In about five minutes, while the kids were coming back for more cheese. Everyone was satisfied that this is one great pie, and we're starting to come back more often (Yes, we've had it more than once and the quality is CONSISTENT). The crust is nice and thin, but the cornmeal gives it a nice kick. Sauce is tasty and the cheese is just right - not too much, not too little. Toppings are plentiful. All in all, 4 stars. The beauty of Chicago and Pizza is variety. Lots of pies, lots of REALLY GOOD options. You won't be disappointed with Armands. Give it a try! Finally, I have no idea how someone could call this "the worst pizza ever" or give it "zero stars". It's really hard to take those reviews seriously, and to be honest, it really doesn't sell me on Yelp either. Too many haters in the world. If it was that bad, just call 'em up and get your money back.
(4)Anthony Z.
Most of the times that we have ordered from Armand's, it's been great, but the last time, they used canned mushrooms, and the crust was meh at best. I believe that they need to work on their consistency.
(3)Michael M.
We have been ordering pizzas from this location regularly since it opened. At first, Armand's pizzas were outstanding. However, over time, Armand's pizzas have gotten progressively worse to the point where they are now almost inedible! Tonight was the last time we will ever order from them.
(1)Rico T.
As posted in one of the Yelp talk threads last week, I was able to use my phrase that Chicagoans would be familiar: "Gimme a combo...dipped...sweet" And damn it was tasty!!!!!!!! $6 for an enormous sandwich, but quantity did not outshine quality. The beef was flavorful, but not overly salty like most fast food joints. The sausage was delicious & big enough to feed two people. Of course I ate the whole thing...I'm the size of two people. The dining space was small, but nice use of the space. It's a take-out restaurant with a few seats if you need a place to snarf down a quick slice of pizza. There was something missing though....the "snap" from the sausage casing. Not a big deal, but I did notice it while devouring my awesome meal. For all I know its because they're using better than average ingredients. Whatever the case (horrible pun, I know) I'm going back....quite possibly today.
(4)Rebekka L.
I would recommend this place. I got the Pizza Nova Quattro Formaggi and it was deliciously filled with ricotta, fontinella, mozzerella, gorganzola, garlic, tomato and basil; all very fresh ingredients. The pizza was hot and delivery was fast. Working at a pizza restaurant for 6 years, I know fresh ingredients when I taste them! Armand's definately has them. The only con I had was with the girl who answered the phone. She couldn't answer the simple questions I had about the food. However, the driver was nicer than most, very friendly.
(4)Jane D.
Excellent. Now eat.
(5)Chicago A.
Ordered one of the Nova pizzas.... Not good. It's basically a flat pita with raw tomatoes and warm sausage on it. When they described it on the menu as "very Italian" I was thinking of traditional Neapolitan pizza, I was so wrong. Bummer.
(2)Ke M.
I recently transferred to a new office for work and when I asked where we should order pizza from one Friday the answer was immediately "Armand's!". It's the only place we've been ordering from since. Great customer service, good delivery times, and of course tasty thin crust pizza! They also have good weekly specials (I think it's buy one get one on Tuesdays!).
(5)Shauna D.
I really thought I'd love it. But I hate square cut, especially for delivery because it gets cold faster and it just isn't the same as a good 'ol pie cut. I'm not just looking for something wrong here, I literally curse the skies when I get square cut pizza. Yes I am mad at myself for not specifying pie cut, but when I see that it seems like a New York or New Haven-style pizza with cornmeal crust (my favorite) and I see this picture of big, glorious slices, I assume I am getting pie cut. If there is a next time, I will specify. I think I would LOVE this pizza if it were not delivered as a bunch of tiny cold squares. Especially for an 18 inch pie, I want to grab a big gooey, stringy slice. Not 15 cubes of already hard cheese. :/ And they forgot the ranch I ordered, and it was a bit pricey. On the plus side, it didn't take too long for a Saturday night. So I recommend ordering it PIE CUT and finding a coupon.
(3)Mike F.
Outstanding thin crust pizza highlighted by a corn meal crust. Armand's is also very generous with their toppings. The place is small. There's a handful of tables, but this seems more like a takeout and delivery place.
(5)Leticia R.
Their pizza is so delicious because it's crust is different than regular pizza, sort of like cornmeal. Regardless, so delicious and fresh! I recommend you order at least 50 minutes prior because the wait is worth for the delicious taste of sauce and oozing cheese! The ingredients are fresh and usually piping hot. I personally like the pan pizza, not too thick and not too thin, and the crust is definitely baked to dliciousness!!!!! You can order on-line or call in the order, regardless they have other item menus worth ordering. Other pizzerias have tried being in business at this same location, and so far this one has been successful/delicious!!! Not a big location but you do have the option of sitting in or eating out on small patio. Either way there is only space for maybe 8-10 people!

This is a really good pizza-by-the-slice place. The menu is huge, but I just got the $4 slide and soda special. They also have salads, sandwiches, appetizers, soups, and pastas. I got a slice of sausage, mushroom, onion, and green peppers. The thin crust was surprisingly crispy for how thin it is. Which, in my book, is a good thing! They use sweet onions that add a nice flavor. I just popped in off the street and wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was really friendly too!

When a new pizza joint opens within blocks of your house, you order pizza. There's a sign in the window: $4/slice. For that reason, I didn't try the pizza for weeks. Finally, the curiosity got the better of my cat, and I pulled up the menu and reviews and prayed that Armand's would exceed my expectations and impress its way into my heart. The blast of accordion music clamoring out of their website is unappreciated and disconcerting. Hit mute before you pull it up. When I picked up my order, I was able to take a look at the $4 thin crust slice by which I had been so beguiled. It was chincy, at best. Sigh. I always try the thinnest pie possible, and thus opted for the 10" Pizza Novas, described as "very thin, very rich, and very Italian." That they were. It's nice to have fresh tomatoes in lieu of sauce, and the olive-oil based crust is decadent. Each is a personal portion. Two for two people was just enough, with no leftovers for lunch. In all fairness, I shouldn't judge a pizza place without trying a nice big saucy pie. Another reason I didn't go for the biggest pizza possible, which is 18" and $15, is that each topping costs $3. Sometimes I add my own basil at home, but when I start thinking about sautéing my own onions for a pizza, I know the toppings are too expensive. The price point prickled. Armand's suburban history, while charming, comes across as a little forced at this quick-stop location on Western. My curiosity has been satisfied; my criteria has not.

The only good thing I can say about Armand's was the speedy delivery. I paid $26 (pizza, delivery charge and tip) for 1 large pizza that taste like cardboard! There are too many pizza places in Chicago that you being able to get more bang for your buck.

We'd been seeing the signs going up for Armand's Pizza in the exact same location as the short-lived O'fame, and were anxious to try them out. I stopped in on Wednesday, and the owner (I presume) informed me that they didn't technically open until Friday, despite the fact that I could smell delicious pizza in the air. I took a menu and he asked me if I wanted to try a slice that they had made already. Yes, please! I just wanted a quick slice for lunch anyway - love when places will just sell you a slice when you don't need a whole pizza. Anyway, the owner gave it to me for free to try out! I love this place already, I thought. Great way to welcome neighbors into your new business. Turns out, the family who owns/runs this place is from Melrose Park - same as my family, so I knew they were actually Italian and that it was going to be good. It's the same Armand's that's in Elmwood Park and Elmhurst. The tomato sauce tasted really fresh, the thin crust was crispy, but not too thin, good amount of cheese and the made-in-house sausage was delish. We had a Halloween party last night and ordered a few pizzas and there wasn't a piece left - it was a huge hit! Prices are good too, considerably less than Girodanos, not surprisingly, and less than Apart Pizza even. Looking forward to trying out their Italian beef. Overall, friendly staff, great pizza, affordable prices. Welcome to to the neighborhood!

Sorry to bring the ratings down, but our pepperoni pizza experience didn't have the pep that was promised. We were lured by the prospect of slices, but at $4.95 each (can of soda included), we decided just to go for a whole pie. We walked up, ordered, waited a reasonable 15-20 minutes and walked our pie home. The crust, I would say, was very satisfying -- unlike most other places. I think crust is an art, and this one was very special. The cheese was cheesy but not flavorful, and I didn't taste the sauce at all. Mostly I tasted, and still taste the next day, the salt, salt, salt that was my pepperoni. It was sooo disappointing to know that a place this well regarded just salted the sh*t outta its ingredients. All in all, the whole thing didn't hang together well as a consistent pizza should. And for $17 and change, I'd rather take a coupon to Papa John's and get two pizzas I know I will love.

Pizza was 30 min late. Called restaurant very rude girl answered phone. Pizza was cold and hard. The crust is awful has no flavor at all! Does not taste like corn bread. Ordered the four cheese pizza, w garlic, tomatoes, and basil. Hardly any basil. This is the 2nd worst pizza I have ever had!!! I will have to stick to Pete's and John's Pizzeria for thin crust. At least I gave it a try. Good thing I am starving... Else I would have to order from Pete's or John's

I was there one of the first days that this location of Armands opened. Everyone (staff) was very courteous and I really, really enjoyed the pizza! I was with my bf who is a chef and the owner graciously gave us a quick tour of the kitchen - pretty awesome, duh. I definitely recommend this place to all who have not tried! Now, we only consider Armand's as an option when we want pizza. In fact, I think I'll order tonight. :-)

My partner and I are opening an auto repair business a few doors away from Armand's, and a few days ago after cleaning and scrubbing all day, we were starved and thought we'd try Armand's on the corner. We had a friend with us and we love pizza, so we went for it. We were really hoping it was going to be good, since their location is so convenient for us. Well, Mike behind the counter welcomed us with open arms. We told him about our shop opening nearby and soon we were like old friends. We ordered the sausage thin crust and we loved it! The three of us were fighting for the last piece! So today, we were back power-washing at the shop and went back to Armand's for a late lunch. The three of us ordered the beef sandwich with chips. The sandwiches were big, juicy and just delicious. I had the sweet peppers on mine and they were plentiful. I usually have no problem finishing off a beef, but just couldn't do it at Armand's. Came home with almost half. Just great! Went back to work cleaning the shop and picked up an Armand's pizza for dinner. My teenage kids loved it, as well. Needless to say, we're so happy we found a great place for lunch or dinner or like today... both! The place is spotless, the service is fast and friendly and the food is terrific. What else could you want? For us, we got all we wanted, a great place to eat near our shop and some great new friends. Highly recommended.

Let me start off by saying I went to the underground location in the loop within the pedway right by the south shore line metra stop. With that out of the way this was Potentially the worst pizza in the city of Chicago AND they charge you for a cup of water. Are you kidding me? If you are gonna charge 50 cents for a styrofoam cup of water at least put some ice in it so its not room temperature... The pizza was completely lack luster, it was soggy and greasy beyond belief. The pizza reminds me of a crappy rip off of a NY style slice. The people who work there are incompetent and seem like they have never worked behind a register before, which is awful because this is a place that gets very busy during lunch seeing as how its in the loop. I don't know if the real restaurant is like this but this location is and I would not suggest that anyone goes there. If I could give you half a star I would and that's me being generous solely based on the fact that it was only $4.50 for a slice. Which for lunch downtown during the work week is a decent price. Pick your game up Armands you have a giant picture on the wall speaking of how you are a family business, now make food that seems like you're a family business if I wanted Pizza Hut I would go there.

Armand's is solid and the people who work there are very nice. I do say, the Armand's salad (I think that's what it's called) is really good. It had mucho artichokes and parmesan with a grand viniagrette. The North Center outpost, is a wee bit small, so it may be best for takeout.
(4)Allegra S.
I had Armand's for the first time today and LOVED it! The pizza was so thin and crispy--they add corn meal on the bottom, which makes it GREAT! The pizza tasted fresh and delicious. I also had a taste of the Italian beef. It was juicy and a huge portion! I'm a big fan of Italian beef and Armand's was dang good! I definitely recommend Armand's. They deliver and for the quality of the food, the prices are good.

Apparently, if you grew up in the general Elmwood Park area, you knew Armand's. It was an institution. So imagine my Fiance's joy when she saw one opening up, just down the street from our hood. We stopped by yesterday for our weekly pizza fix and I gotta admit, it was a damn fine pie. Let's just keep it simple: after eating their thin crust pizza, it was apparent that it was just a well-made pizza, using great ingredients. The crust was really impressive, being a cracker-like crust. But at the same time, it's a very firm crust with good crunch and pull and I loved the used of semolina (or cornmeal), as it always gives that little extra chew. The sauce was probably one of the best pizza sauces i've tasted. It basically tasted like freshly stewed Italian plum tomatoes with a touch of salt....it was tart, acidic and balanced out the nice salty, richness of their cheese blend. They're definitely going into our regular rotation! A truly welcome addition to the hood.

Delicious, fair prices and reasonable delivery times. Will definitely add to regular pizza option list.

Let me start by saying that I didn't eat the pizza here, and based on other reviews, the pizza sounds great. I was working nearby and really wanted a salad so I walked over to Armand's, mainly because there's not a lot within these couple of blocks. I ordered a Cesar Salad and their "specialty" baked artichokes. I LOVE artichokes and had high hopes for these, since they were apparently a family recipe that had been passed down for generations. Needless to say, I should have ordered the pizza. The salad was small, overpriced, and served with old stale Italian bread that was impossible to chew. But the artichokes were a whole new level of disgusting. Literally, they took a whole artichoke, including the toughest outer leaves, doused it in olive oil, and covered it in probably a pound of bread crumbs. Seriously? No flavor, and a mushy mess of soggy bread crumbs. When I did hit a part of artichoke amidst the nastiness, it was usually flavorless and so chewy I had to spit it out. Plus the whole dish just looked disgusting. I probably ate four bites before giving up completely, and even the room full of hungry young guys had no interest in tasting the dish full of grossness. If it's a "specialty" I expect something special. I have trouble believing that generations have eaten that nasty, mushy mess of a side dish. AVOID.
(1)Joe W.
I am biased since I had grown up with this place. But this new express place on Western was just as good as the old. Special sausage and artichoke dishes. I try to stop in every chance I get. The staff is always nice and accommodating.
(5)Howard K.
Delivery order from the new Edison Park location was disappointing. Do not order the stuffed artichoke--a meatless, heartless artichoke buried in flavorless breadcrumb mush; I cannot imagine how this came from a kitchen with many favorable artichoke reviews. The Armand's Special pizza was good with plentiful ingredients including good fresh mushrooms, though thick for a thin crust pizza and extra thin was ordered. A new place may get another chance.

Hello! we are in Chicago.... Home of some of the best pizza in the world. Why would I ever order from Armand's again? The pizza is something I would expect from a gas station in the middle of here and Indianapolis. I ordered a large sausage pizza and wings. They went out of their way to mention on the menu that it was "homemade sausage". Wow, I was expecting something special, not in this case. It was horrible, like worst than Chucky Cheese in 1987. Nothing great about the crust... Blahh. So at least we have wings to save the day, well I was real disappointed. It was served with six sticks of warm mushy celery on top of the nasty, tiny, chewy, wings and two generic peal away dressing containers on the side. I would have been better off stopping in Jewel and grabbing some wings from the deli and a frozen pizza for a third of the price. Im sorry folks, Im still upset with my Friday night dinner. Just bad pizza. I dont know how they managed to make "bad pizza" but they did. I didnt think there was bad pizza in Chicago. Unbelievable.... As tempting as it is to try some new pizza in town, please stick with what you know to be good. Calo, Giordano's, Art of pizza, even Chicago pizza. I would NOT eat this pizza again for free. Oh but the guy who answered the phone to take my order was very nice and spoke very clear.
(1)Yvette F.
I crave the thin crust with sausage and jalapenos.
(4)Ed S.
Great pizza!! Can't beat all the side dishes too. Baked clams and a well saugage pizza. Yum!!!
(5)Jane J.
Very nice pizza. I am a fan of thin crust pizza and I love their pizza. Also, their sausage is delicious. Normally sausage is to oily and ruins the pizza for me, but not here! Very flavorful. I've also like their salads. Looking forward to trying other menu items soon. The owner is very friendly and truly cares about bringing great pizza to the area.
(5)Mike L.
Have no clue about their delivery or the negative comments I see but I can tell you that the slices are as good as the old original Armand's on Grand Ave. in Elmwood Park that I remember when I was a kid!! 10 stars and Kudos to these guys!! The Salads are also fantasitc!
(5)Brian P.
We ordered in from Armand's tonight. Pretty solid for pizza in Chicago, which tends to have the strangest idea of what constitutes good pizza. Thin crust, could have been slightly crispier, but sauce was tangy and tasty. One pie was 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni. The meat was nothing special. The other pie was all onion and green pepper and I like that they used long slices of the veggies rather than diced. Delivery was on time. Price was high -- those two mediums (granted they were big mediums) + delivery charge was $35. When did pizza get so expensive?
(3)Erin G.
Armand's is tasty! I enjoy your thin crust pizza and their soups. Perfect stop in for a bite to eat or just a craving for some great pizza. I haven't tried their pan pizza yet, but I look forward to it!
(4)Colleen F.
My husband is from Elmwood Park and was so excited when I told him that I saw an Armands popping up near our place. The food is really good, my husband thinks it's as good as the original. I think that they have definitely been playing around with some of their recipes and although it has been somewhat inconsistent in the first 6 months the food keeps getting better. The pizza is really good and my husband loves the artichoke although I think it's always heavy on the brad crumbs. This place is a little pricier than your average pizza place but I think it is worth it.
(4)Caley R.
For some reason I used to HATE Armands pizza when I was a little kid. Growing up in Elmwood Park this was the staple pizza place though and as I grew up I began to really love it. I was super excited to find out my boss had ordered Armands for lunch one day and they were so close to my neighborhood. Pizza here is great, everyone at work loved it and so did I.
(4)Lindsey C.
My husband and a high school friend had always raved about the original Armand's on Grand in Elmwood Park. I was surprised to see that there was one coming to the north side back in the fall. This location does NOT disappoint! We've only gotten take-out or delivery but everything is great. The crust is thin, crispy and delicious, rolled in cornmeal before it's baked. The toppings are great too- I'm a huge fan of mushroom, pepperoni and garlic. Plus, they have a promotion that if you collect 7 of their cards you get a free pizza!!!! LOVE Armand's.
(5)Ted M.
Ask for well done and extra sauce - at least we like it that way here. Really good thin crust pizza. Reliable delivery and they have not screwed up an order yet (unlike most other places we have used over the years).
(5)Gary B.
Armand's is great! It took a while to find a dependable, quality pizza delivery specialist for where I live in Logan Square and I am pleased to say that Armand's is the one! We have only had the pizza but maybe the artichokes might be on the menu next time. Any combination of sausage, spinach and pepperoni usually does the trick. Always top notch and piping hot. Delivery is fast, have never waited longer than 50 minutes before and you will always get a realistic time when you call in.
(5)Dawn A.
Try the Italian Beef with peppers....you will love this monster of a sandwich that does not skimp on the amount of quality beef on good Italian bread. This is how a Italian beef should be and rarely found on the north side.
(4)Kristin C.
There may be an "Express" in the title but don't be fooled. My favorite pizza in the city and I don't have to drive all the way down Grand to get it. I love this pizza SO MUCH. You must try it, trust me. Haven't ordered anything else yet (even my beloved baked artichoke) but I can't see passing up their pizza. . . ever!
(5)Anne D.
I used to live in Elmhurst and had been to the location there several times, and always enjoyed it. So I was thrilled when I found out that an Armand's was opening up just a few blocks from my apartment! I've gotten takeout pizza from here twice so far, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Really thin crust, quality sauce and cheese. What more can you want? I also really enjoyed the Caesar salad here. If you live in the area, definitely give it a try! I plan to keep coming back. It looks like they have a pretty limited menu, but I hope to give the pasta a try sometime soon.

Tonight I had the good fortune of stopping at Armand's Pizza and picking up some pepperoni and some sausage pieces along with the Gorgonzola Salad. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. While i find most thin pizza options in this City over-rated (ie. Spaccanapoli and Apart Pizza), Armand's has finally brought the perfect thin and crunchy pizza to our neighborhood. If anyone out there grew up in the North Suburbs with "Barnaby's Pizza", you'll know what I'm talking about. It's nearly exactly the same thin pizza with the sandy stuff on the bottom and crispy thin crust. The pepperoni is absolutely the best and (like Barnaby's) they bake their pepperoni on top of the pizza so it gets crunchy and delicious. The gorgonzola salad was also fantastic.. The two men working behind the counter were obviously invested in the success of the restaurant and in getting to know their customers. Clearly, they would like to become a neighborhood favorite and they are well on their way.
(5)Sara C.
I love love love this new express pizza location. Armand's is the best pizza place in Chicago and they have opened close to my apartment, thank goodness. The prices are just right and it's perfect as last minute dinner or as a tasty hang over cure. I love their thin crust. Plus the guy at the front counter is really funny and tasty looking, too. 4159 N. Western Open 11-11 sun-thurs. and 11-12 on fridays and saturdays. (773) 463-5200

We've ordered Armand's at least a dozen times now that we've lived in North Center and each and every time, it's been fantastic. The thin, corn meal crust is outstanding and the ingredients have always been fresh and well cooked. We recently tried the Hawaiian and it was superb! So happy to have Armand's in the neighborhood!
(5)Mark M.
I was so excited when this place opened just down the block and I so want to love this pizza. Unfortunately, their pizza is mediocre at best. My family has ordered it multiple times and finally have given up. First attempt was a little dry and undercooked but the crust and toppings were otherwise good so we thought we'd try again. The second time we ordered extra sauce, well done - after we picked it up we actually went and looked at the ticket to make sure they wrote it correctly as it was drier than the first although cooked properly. The pizza nova are okay but pricey for what you get. The best luck I have had with their pizza was when I stopped in and had a slice one day. $4 but a good size and comes with a pop - although not much selection (cheese or sausage)There are too many other good pizza places in Chicago to waste anymore time on Armand's - no matter how close they are. I can recommend their Italian beef sandwich, however. Loaded with beef, nice gardinera and a bun that can handle it. Worth every bit of the $6.
(2)P C.
We love Armand's Pizza! It is not the typical Chicago thick or deep dish stuff. It is thin and very good. Ordered the yard of pizza for my daughter's birthday party. Everyone was asking where the pizza was from...Even the big guys who generally love the deep dish appreciated the tastey thin crust. Highly recommend!!
(5)Mike O.
Great pizza and a nice addition to the neighborhood. Had the cheese and sausage thin crust and was one of the best around. Prices about 10% too high, so only 4 out of 5 stars from me. Loved it, though!
(4)Dawn R.
if you are fussy about the sausage on your pizza, and you are like Guy Fieri who appreciates old school pizza like vito and nick's on the south side, then you will absolutely LOVE this pizza. we are sooooo happy to find them and will be driving down from edgewater whever we need a pizza fix. small but spotless dining area. toppings were generous and top quality.
