This is my favorite restaurant for breakfast in the channahon area. They have amazing skillets. I love the bacon skillet it's what I get 90 percent of the time there. The service is good and the management is also good. They also have good lunch food. And I like the fact that it's family owned. I have been coming here since I was a young kid and I will continue to come here for years to come.

Lonestar is an excellent family restaurant. I've been going there for years and they have quality breakfast food for a good price. Their skillets are especially worth mentioning. Overall a great Greek-style diner with quick service and a quality product.

This place is pretty standard from any other Chicago, Greek diner. They provide good service and good food, but nothing really sets them apart except that it is the only one in the area.

Lonestar is a monthly usual for us. We get great service. (Plus a star) Fast service and meals. We usually only stay for about an hour every visit for 6 people (Plus a star) The food can be good depending on what you order. I had a apple cinnamon waffles once that tasted like it came from a can. That was fun. But other than that one meal they have great food! (Plus a star) The environment is a clean normal family diner. (Plus a star) The prices are decent and reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. (Plus a star)for a diner this is what I would expect and it's not the best diner but for the area it's pretty excellent. So my father-in-law lives five minutes away and has a love of diners. Lonestar has been our destination quite a few times. Most recently. We went in for dinner. Four adults averaging $12 per person. The price is right. The service is attentive and everyone is soooo nice. The food. It's average. The soup is lacking chicken chunks, but has plenty of noodles. My father-in-law ordered breakfast and was very pleased. The hubby went with a BLT. He is tomato-particular and they passed. Two of us went with fried chicken. Not overly greasy, less than flavorful. The parking lot is weird. Kinda lacking in space and everyone stands around outside. The restaurant is easy to find on the main stretch and we will likely be back again soon.

4.5 stars Its nice to have this nearby, especially when you're looking to get a sizable dinner for under $10 (a majority of the menu items fall under this criteria) and isn't a chain. Got a poorboy to go with swiss cheese, fries, and soup for $8 and it took less than 5 minutes to prepare. Even though I wasn't expecting it to be Merichka's good but it was damn good and the portions were also good. One of the better Greek-style diners I've been to.

We've had breakfast here a couple of times, once recently while visiting friends in the area. I wouldn't say anyone is over-the-top friendly here...it's a diner type place, but we got pretty decent service even without a smile. We had omelets that I thought were a little overcooked. I thought all omelets came with cheese, but if it doesn't say cheese, no cheese will be in your omelet. The coffee was ok, which I'm very picky about. I don't like gas station old tasting coffee. Now that Sara's is closed down, our options for breakfast are limited when visiting, so we might come back. I just hope the hostess works on her response to those that walk out saying Thank You, which we did. Her response was You're Welcome! Really? Most hostesses respond with Thank You back as in Thank You For Chosing to Eat in Our Restaurant.

if you're looking for a good, hot breakfast with large portions served fast, you gotta try Lone Star. Service is very friendly and your coffee cup won't go dry! Love this place!

My dad owns this place and I wanted to get a review on the map. I grew up in this restaurant. I saw it go from a honkeytonk to a lounge to a family restaurant. Of course I'm giving the 5-star b/c it's my dad. There is definitely room for improvement, but you're always going to get good, comfort food at a good price. I no longer live in the area, but the Lonestar Channahon is the place for breakfast. It's more of a greasy spoon joint, but it's very clean and has a nice ambiance. They also have a full bar and server lunch and dinner. You can get everything from a Rueben to Surf n Turf, which is pretty funny if you think about it.

I love this place, the food is yummy and the wait staff is very friendly. It is definitely a family place, especially after church. Of course it's no fancy restaurant but if you want some good food and friendly service, this is the place to go!
