Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

New Hunan is hand down my favorite chinese restaurant. You wouldn't think much of the place from just looking at its cheap outdated interior but seriously, these guys can cook. They have excellent lunch specials providing abundantly huge portions that aren't over-riced and yet still only cost around $6. I've never had a bad experience yet. The service is quick and food hot and tea is nice. The sesame chicken and general tso have top be my favorites. NOTE*** They no longer have a liquor license though.

Cute joint, good egg drop soup. But my orange chicken literally had NO chicken in 50% of the pieces. The sauce was amazing and the portions were huge. But really? No chicken in my orange chicken. It was just fried bread with orange sauce. :(

If you notice there is a theme in all the reviews, which is pretty consistent. If your looking for fancy, elegance, romance and ambiance this place is not it. Because of this, this place is probably rated lowered than it deserves. If your shooting for great food, healthy portions at an affordable price, then this is it. I would not call it a dive either because while it is not fancy, it is clean. If your on a budget with a family, this is the spot. And what the reviewers have said about the staff knowing their customers by name and favorite foods is spot on. After two visits they already knew my family. It certainly is the best Chinese food in the immediate area - I would not say Chicago though. China town has some pretty amazing spots. That said, this is the only place for Chinese cuisine for us in this neighborhood.

Love the food not expensive at all and you get big portions! I can spend less than twenty dollars for two lunch specials and still have food left over for later! Best Chinese restaurant in carpentersville! My opinion.

Ok let's face it for a suburb restaurant it's considered world class dining, compared to some of the fantastic Chinese restaurant headed towards Chicago-- not impressing at all. I would recommend ordering to go instead of dinning in because its an awkward dining experience. It's a small restaurant that is extremely quiet and has no background music to mask/hide the conversation from neighboring tables. Wish they would consider doing something about that. Also, the portions are a lot bigger for take out for those of you who are looking to stretch your dollar to the max. Overall, it's a descent restaurant.

So, I decided to give New Hunan a second chance and I am glad that I did. I ordered the shredded pork in garlic sauce lunch special and it was actually really good. It comes with a small soup, egg roll and a huge portion of bbq pork fried rice. It was seasoned really well, cooked perfectly and came piping hot still. They definitely redeemed themselves today.

New Hunan is a little bit of a dive, but they have an impressive selection of lunch specials and the prices are good. I have never dined in, but their carry-out operation is pretty efficient. Portion sizes are above average. While definitely not my favorite Chinese restaurant, for a quick lunch, this one gets an "A-OK" in my book.

Decor is pretty cheesy, but you forget about that when your food arrives. Really tasty food - we have yet to have a bad meal here. Portions are huuuge; you always go home with a doggie bag.

From egg rolls to egg foo young; it's the typical Chinese restaurant. But unlike some other Chinese places I've been to you don't have to wait a looooong time to get your food. I really like this place. I especially like the people here. I used to come here a lot with my family and they started to recognize us. They knew about what we liked and how my sister would always order beef sticks. The food is just what you'd generally expect at a Chinese Restaurant.
