My husband and I went here today. My husband had the" Da Itis" and I had the Meat Omelets Turkey Bacon. The food were delicious. The cafe is very beautiful and the servicer was helpful, very friendly the prices are very reasonable, and the portions are large for your $$. The owner Cheryl came out and she was very nice I would recommend if your in the Broadview area to stop by and have a breakfast or lunch at The Corner Spot Cafe. My husband and I will certainly come back since we live 4 blocks away from the corner spot cafe.

Saw this place had good reviews and was passing by. Nice atmosphere and easy listening music but I don't think the service could be any slower. Place has been open a year and it looks like they just moved in. I ordered an omelette and it smelled like mildew and the biscuit was rock hard. My friends food only had half the ingredients she ordered. Don't want to bash it too hard but it was really just unacceptable.

Had breakfast there this morning. The food and service was amazing. This is a great neighborhood restaurant. You won't be disappointed

This is a new place in my area so I decided to give it a try. The dining room was open and spacious with bright colors. Because it was a new places there was no wait with a choice of seating. Service was friendly and accommodating. I was surprised they had turkey alternatives in sausage and bacon. Oh, did I mention they have grits? Overall great experience, the food was good with a feeling of home. Very affordable and economical. Will be going back....

Oh it was yummy listened to Debbie S.'s review and tried it. OMG the eggs were perfect, the potatoes yummy, seasoned just right, homemade buscuit was so light. Have to try the pancakes next time. Lovely decor and Debbie they have artwork against the wall on the floor now they must be getting ready to hang, and you didn't mention the fireplace that is a huge plus. Very good service, even told the owner we would be back. Just a really nice Sunday morning there.

I was running an errand in the area and wanted a bite to eat. There seemed to be nothing but fast food and greasy spoon places so I decided to head back to my hood when I saw this place. I'm glad I stopped. It's a charming little place with nice artwork on the wall (I meant to ask our waiter about the artist). I ordered the Jerk catfish and my hubby had almost everything on the breakfast menu. There was only one other table with customers and it took a long time for us to get our food. Our server was very polite and attentive, but needed to check with the cook when we had a couple of questions. When we finally got our food it was tasty. It seems they use quality ingredients and my husband said the pancakes were some of the best he'd ever had. If I lived in the area I would definitely patronize the place, but I wonder how they handle the Saturday or evening crowd.

Good food and good staff. I stopped at this place on my way to Chicago for breakfast. I enjoyed the food and the staff were really friendly too.

This place is walking distance from my house, so it's perfect for grabbing a REAL Saturday morning breakfast before running errands! Ive only had the peach cobbler pancakes and they were perfect both times! The atmosphere is really nice, not stuffy/pretentious and not circus-y. The wait staff are very friendly. The only reason I can't give them 5 stars is because of the wait, even when you're at the only occupied table . It's not so bad when you're engaged in adult conversation, but if you have hungry kids with you then it's a different story. I think they should consider leaving the menu on the table, so you can start deciding what to order as you wait . It just makes the wait seem even longer when it takes 15-20 min for someone to bring a menu and then another 30-45 min for your food. Again, the food is really good and I think its reasonably priced with good sized portions, this just isn't a place you go to because you're hungry. It's more the place you meet friends before shopping that happens to have good breakfast!

Service was excellent, pancakes were definitely homemade (and delicious), presentation was exquisite. Obviously a very high level of pride in their work! BGM was a touch too loud but nice enough to not be overbearing. Our server was super hospitable and kind.

Good atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. Clean and neat settings. The Cesare salad was delicious. It had freshly made croutons dashed with fine cheese and spices. I was limited to one selection on the lunch menu being vegetarian but I was not at all disappointed.

Horrible! I went in because I live in the area and saw the good reviews on here We were the only people in there all the way through our meal. Bad sign. Food looks appealing but it lacked flavor. Some of it was downright gross. The pancakes had a strange taste to them and my friend wondered if they used "old flour" LOL. I was very disappointed because I had a hankering for breakfast food. I foresee this place closing down in the near future. It was that bad.

I visited for breakfast with my daughter and we both ordered pancakes. The pancakes were thick and dry. They were awful. For the first bite, I wanted to leave, but felt obligated to stay. The first thing that came to mind was, the Cafe is certainly in need of an experienced chef. My visit to the Cafe was on my mind for a long time because I wanted so much to give feedback, but I didn't want it to appear as someone who was complaining. I do want my comment to be constructive. I guarantee you, if they brought in a superb chef for just one month ,business would indeed soar.

Went here for breakfast today because I found it through restaurant.com . They have a very cute, clean and welcoming atmosphere/interior. I wouldn't recommend dining in if you're looking for a quick breakfast, we actually had to get our food togo but we didn't do the best job planning ahead. It's nice and quiet so it'd be a perfect spot for a relaxing breakfast/brunch. The menu here is not huge, but has just enough variety without overwhelming you with what to choose. The server was very sweet and attentive, I loved that he wasn't overbearing!!! We had the 2 eggs with potatoes, sausage and toast, everything was so good! I loved how their potatoes were not too bland and not too salty, seasoned to perfection!! The biggest issues I have at most breakfast places are that their potatoes are tasteless and I hate that!!! So this was the icing on the cake! I also would recommend their mini pancake sampler! Oh my!! Came with cinnamon roll, red velvet, chocolate chip and walnut pancakes and they were not so mini!!! I wish we lived closer to this place because I would be here all the time for their breakfast! Can not wait to come back!! The only down fall is that they're on Opentable but I couldn't make a reservation...

Lots of parking available around the restaurant. You are greeted very nicely when you come inside the front door. The appearance inside is outstanding from the hardwood floors to the fire place. The waiter showed outstanding customer service skills and the food was delicious. This is most definitely the best breakfast restaurant located in Broadview hands down.

1st review: My father in law gave this place five stars. He says the food and atmosphere is great. My husband and I always say we wish there were a GOOD breakfast spot in this area. We hate going to Oak Park/Forest Park, and putting our dollars in other communities. We are definitely going to check it out. 2nd Review: NOOOOOOO stay far far away. We checked it out after the recommendation from my father in law. It was horrible. The portion/price ration needs to be adjusted. For a breakfast place, they are very overpriced for the quality and portion size you get. I ordered salmon cakes. They didn't even try to make them taste like they didn't use canned salmon. It was so apparent. So I thought maybe it was what I ordered, wanted to give them another chance so we went again. This time we ordered "The Itis" for $12 and some change. Well I did not get the itis. Matter of fact I sent half of my plate away. The eggs had a soapy after taste, the pancakes were standard pancakes and the turkey sausage was very dry. Twice is enough for me. Also the menu's are printed out on regular copy paper and ours had a stain or two on it. SMH. Card stock does not cost that much. I have passed it a few times in the last few weeks and have seen a closed sign. I hope they are re- strategizing, re inventing, re something, b/c they do not have the breakfast concept mastered.

Ok so i live 2 blocks away from this spot and wanted to check it out. It opened about a week ago. I was kinda disappointed that they didn't have a website so i could check out the menu before coming because i didn't know what type of food they were serving. I went in and noticed it was a brunch type of spot. They serve breakfast and burgers and salads. They also have gourmet pancakes. I ordered "the itis" which was 2 eggs, homestyle potatoes, bacon and sausage and my choice of biscuits or pancakes. The potatoes were exactly how i like them! Crunchy but tender. I wanted to try the biscuits because they are made in house. My server was polite and attentive as well as management. I love that. Everything was good until i got to the biscuits. They were hard and tasted old. I asked my server if i could have the pancakes instead because the biscuits they gave me were terrible. She said "no problem and brought me some pancakes. These pancakes were absolutely Delicious. Probably the best pancakes i've ever had. Even better than mine. And when I was done with my food the she apologized for the biscuits and brought me 2 FRESH biscuits NO CHARGE. This batch of biscuits were absolutely delicious. It was like day and night. I applaud the management for correcting their mistake and will definitely be back. Highly recommend. Its refreshing to see a black owned establishment with superior customer service. Looking forward to going back soon.

I'm a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due, and Corner Spot cafe definitely deserves 5 stars. The food was so good that my cousin and I went two days in a row (I'll admit we were on some extra fat booty mess, but it was calling us after church). So my first visit was on a Saturday morning with our book club, and while the service was a little slow, the waiter and waitress were extremely friendly and accommodating to our large group (7ppl). When the food did arrive (OMG!) it was much more than we were all expecting and it was DELICIOUS!!!! I ordered the pancake sampler and a side of sausage. Unlike you would probably expect from the low price these are not medallion pancakes, they are a pretty good size (large enough that I was able to share and have leftovers). The pancakes (cinnamon bun, ed velvet, pecan praline, and chocolate chip) were in the top 5 of the most ridiculously good things I've ever eaten, the other 4 I probably cooked myself. I highly recommend them. I vaguely heard the appreciative comments of the others in my group (I was in deep ecstatic concentration with my own plate). Needless to say, I ordered the exact same thing when I returned the next day.

I've been here a few times and the food and service are always great! Coffee drinkers won't be disappointed either.

This might have been the best-tasting restaurant breakfast I have ever eaten. The Sunday Morning Omelet was SO flavorful. I really appreciate the fresh ingredients and the care with which the food is prepared...It just...took...SO... LONG...I was prepared for a wait, but an hour and a quarter from ordering to eating? I'll be back, but I'll bring a newspaper and NOT my impatient tween-aged kids:-)

Went for coffee for business meeting. Coffee very good, not great, more than satisfactory. Returned a couple of weeks later for full breakfast. Both occasions very attentive server. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes. Excellent, taste, texture, density. Find me a restaurant which pays attentions to syrups and other toppings for pancakes. Pleeze! Did I mention the pancakes were divine! Bacon, fried crisp and very tasty. I wish the breakfast menu wasn't so al carte. However, it was worth it. Money tight right now, but will ensure I frequent a few times a month. I want this place to thrive. Decor nice, clean, efficient minimalistic. Could use something on the walls...but I came for the food and enjoyed it much. Do not go out to breakfast since moving back four years ago. Choose not to spend my money...Oak Park, Forest Park, Lombard, Berwyn...you get the drift. However, I'll definitely come here for breakfast/lunch.
