Drove past this Checkers many times on the way to hockey games. Finally got the chance to stop and have a burger and fries. The food here is defiantly better then most fast food places. The burger had great flavor and the fries are quite good. Only complaint is no indoor seating. Chicago weather usually isn't conducive to eating outside. Wish we had more of these in the area. Much better then Mcpains or burger sling.

The food at Checker's is always amazing but you go to the hood to get it and therefore you receive hood service. I'm talking a drive - thru clerk who will interrupt you with a "anything else?" before you even finish. I'm talking a "please pull around, we'll bring you your food in 20 minutes, and it will be wrong". Granted, they always correct the order, and the food is served hot. I think if they practiced more patience and accuracy at the drive-thru everything else would fall in line. I give 5 stars for the food and 2 stars for service.

The only reason why I'm giving this 4 stars is because of the fries. There is NO GREATER TRUTH THAN CHECKER'S FRIES! I also got an order of the grilled cheese sticks. BIG MISTAKE! I'm pretty good about finishing everything on my plate and not throwing away food, but those were impossible to eat. No lie, they aren't frying their foods in any great quality oil, and you can taste the very low grade oil on the food. Maybe it's because their fries are seasoned to perfection that oil-taste doesn't hit your palate as much with their fries. So yeah, go here for the fries but not for your other fast food needs.

This Checker's recently opened and I am concerned about how many burgers I am going to be eating. I pass it on my way home from work every evening! As a side note I feel that it has had a very positive effect on the corner! Nice change from the vacant lot that has been there in recent years. I have been here a few times since they opened maybe a month ago. They food has been consistently good. The people there are very friendly and very upbeat. I have had a few different burgers, I have not been disappointed, they generally seem to be running a sale of kind and I have yet to try the fish, chicken, wings or ice cream. The ice cream looks really promising! The only drawback, it is now November and the pedestrians among us will have to stand outside to order as they are pretty much geared toward drive through. There is and outdoor seating and ordering area, but this is Northern Illinois and winter is approaching.

The most horrible experience ever!! Went through the drive through on Sunday around 11:00pm, very unpleasant & unprofessional staff. Got home with the food one order was totally messed up. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone checkers gas really fell off! Food wasn't fresh fries tasted like they had been recooked & the burgers were not throughly done so I wasted $10.00 on a lousy meal

After driving by this place every day, on my way home from work, I decided to take my son to try it out. I didn't know you couldn't eat in. Anyway, that double bacon burger was awesome! Messy, greasy, shrooms, onions, bacon! I didn't check out the menu, but I'll go back and try something different. Top off my fast food places
