Exceptionally GREAT TASTE I was referred by a friend to visit this place. I am from the far NW suburbs and so I am a little out of my element in Bridgeview. When I walked into the place I was very skeptical but that was all about to end We ordered egg rolls to start .. They were very good but it wasn't until our entree's came did the Wow factor come into play I ordered the Mongolian beef ( I figured we would try run of the mill since we were so skeptical) The other entree was cashew chicken, ordered with the same frame of mind Both were ordered medium spicy All I can say is that the taste and quality of preparation of the vegetables and spices were the best I have tasted in many years. I heartily recommend this place I endorse it I urge you to try it

This place has the best Thai foods, hands down...in the sothwest side! The couple that run this place are so awesome, they were meant to have this place for us. The wait can be a little overbearing if it gets full, but only because it is the two of them. She cooks and he takes care of everything outside the kitchen.

The Place is very clean, bathroom as well. Hole in the wall place but definitely a must try. The food was fresh and amazing! The Crab Rangoon was so good! I will for sure come again.

I love their pad thai. Very nice owners. Not a big place so there isn't much seating. But don't let that deter you from trying their delicious food.

  • Muja B.

Super authentic and delicious. A cute little hole In the wall. The owner is so sweet and personable. They currently don't offer the papaya salad nor the mango sticky rice but the owner said they intend to in the near future. Prices are very reasonable as well. The pad Thai and Musaman curry were amazing with just the right amount of spice and flavor without being overwhelmingly greasy or spicy. A must try!!

Yum! Love Thai twin! It's so small that you'd probably miss it but such an awesome hidden gem! The owner is so sweet and attentive and the food is amazing! Plus Byob! Love that!

What a relief to have an amazing Thai restaurant in this very same spot as the old Bahn Thai. Sam the owner came out and we had a wonderful chat. His wife is 80 years old and an amazing cook - she is in the back producing real authentic Thai dishes - no bull, no fluff - FOOD. This is not "that" Americanized Thai restaurant - when they say hot - it means HOT!!! - LOVE. The Panang Curry was through the roof awesome. This is it! This is the new go to Thai restaurant in Chicago for us.

Wow, what a gem of flavor and authenticity! I was instantly transported back to Thailand at first bite. (well, more like first sight and smell - it is awesome!) This is a hole in the wall place run by an elderly thai couple - not sure how they do it, but that tiny lady can cook up a flavorful storm while her hub manages the tables and customers! It's attached to a shady asian store that only accepts cash FYI. The flavor is right, the authenticity is there, the portion sizes are generous and the friendliness is plenty to go around. My go to place whenever I am in the area! Three thumbs up!

I've eaten here multiple times within a two week span..Yeah its that good. Everything I had on the menu was top notch..Not cheap but worth it I wish more meat was given, but it is not a deal breaker for me. Dont let the design fool you you are in for a treat..spicy garlic shrimp, thai rolls, crab ragoon(OMG) , shrimp fried rice, red curry, panang curry, pao khing curry ALL worth trying! Can't complain with the quality and taste of the food! My favorite food near home.

Excellent food. A great option if you aren't in a hurry. It's a small joint and the customer service is very friendly, but definitely a longer wait.

Really enjoyed our evening here a couple weeks ago. The food is good. The atmosphere is decent. What I really thought was excellent was the service. We came with our daughter who is the most finicky human on the planet. Thai food for the finicky is difficult. But the man who served us was extremely accommodating with her. Basically we needed the plainest possible food. While we ate our pad Thai, curry, satay, etc., she ate plain white rice, super white and plain boiled chicken, and peas. And eat she did! It also wasn't expensive, and we all left satisfied. I understand that five stars puts this place on par with the greatest restaurants on the planet. I am a realistic person, but I am rating our single experience at this location. We left happy, and our daughter ate!!! That's five in my book.

I Love this little restaurant! You feel welcomed when you come in, the owners greet you and are very kind. My favorite dish is the Pad See Ew, the noodles are delicious. When I don't have time to dine in I get the Thai Tea and an Eggroll. Best eggrolls I have ever had! I also like the little grocery store here, it's convenient and the prices are reasonable. I've been coming here for many years and I will continue to do so for many more.

Yo, yo, yo! This was our second visit, and I felt a need to communicate on what makes this place fantastic. - First, if you come at night, GPS that ish...their lights do not illuminate the sign...(I passed it like a dummy both times that we came...even after knowing the address.) Rest assured, they ARE open! - There is a thai grocery store next door/conjoined. Cash only there, so save up your dollar bills that you'd been planning on using for polekatz and come get you some curry paste and some spices that you can't pronounce/identify. - This is a small, cozy, Mom and pop joint. I would not recommend more than a party of five, at the max. BYOB if you're an alkie, or just go without for an hour (ya damned alkie) and settle in with a thai iced coffee. - Nice homemade type of flavor here. They have a nice 'transition' type of menu for peeps that might not be familiar with Thai food. You can get regular, stir-fry food that's not doused in curry. (Why would anyone want that?!) It makes me confident that I can bring my Mother/Mother-in-law without them running for the door at the first sight of something that's not portillos or mexican food. So, in summary, if you're content with a small Mom'n'Pop type of Thai joint for great homemade flavors on the souuuuuth side, come here! And unlike their grocery neighbor, they DO accept credit!

Quaint in the right kind of ways. Service isn't the fastest, but it's always been right and the owner is kind of awesome. It's quite laid back. The food is good. And, there are plenty of inexpensive options. It is BYOB. Heads up.

We stopped in for an early dinner, Thursday 4pm, two other groups were already dining. The host / waiter seated us promptly and brought us water and menus right-away. The dinning room is small, but quaint. This is a no frills, thai place, that hits the mark. Thai Twin is BYOB, we brought a 6-pack and ordered the crab Rangoon for an appetizer. The elderly gentleman brought us two frozen frosty mugs, and took our order. I decided on the massaman curry with chicken and Super Hot! The crab Rangoon was good, hot, crispy and tasty, but I have had better. My massaman curry was excellent, and super hot is exactly that... really hot, but still very flavorful. All of our food was freshly prepared and piping hot... you know that they put the time and effort to make every dish great. Overall, I would definitely return, and recommend this place to all my friends. The price, the quality and the service, plus BYOB, make this place an easy 5 star joint. This is definitely a nice, quiet, hidden gem, that I would take a date for great food, and conversation.

I went to Thai Twin yesterday for the first time since the month they opened (I used to go to the Thai place that was there before, Bahn Thai) and had a fantastic meal with my girlfriend. We had the chicken satays (4 massive pieces) that came with very respectable peanut sauce and an order of crab Rangoon, which were both large portions, inexpensive, and quite good. She had a huge portion of the drunken noodles, which were again fantastic and I ordered the panang curry (hot) and sweat through a tasty dish, though this portion could have been larger and more complex since it was literally just pork, curry, and white rice. The service was adequate and relatively quick, though the waiter didn't ask us what we wanted for drinks. The best part of the experience was when we received the bill and saw it was $30 for the massive amount of food we received. Totally a deal for how much we ordered and the quality of it as well. Overall, the experience was quite good and I will definitely come back again.

Love this place. The owner is great. He knows who I am whenever I call just by the way I order my pad see ew. Very friendly and accommodating. I've never sat in and dined here always take out. But, the food is always good and I've always been happy with the service.

  • Kanani E.

Super good as always.. and the food was ready really quickly..

  • Alisa M.

Still love this place after all this time. The service is still the same (LONG). Like I said before, you will be sitting there for awhile to get service or refills on your drinks... but because the food is oh so good (this is probably the most authentic you can get to thai food in Thailand), I can put their slow service to the side. The couple is getting old and have been talking about possibly closing. I hope this does not happen because there is no other place on the southside that makes food anywhere comparable to this place.

  • Nicole M.

I've been eating here for years. The owners are such nice people and the food is amazing, not the mention the price! I've had nearly every dish here and I can't complain about any of them. Their Tom Yum soup just happens to be my favorite, very flavorful with a little kick. Enjoy!

  • Tracy R.

Best Thai food around! The Fish cakes and drunken noodles will make you swoon and the couple who own, cook and wait on you are adorable and treat you like family. ....as far as I know, they don't serve alcohol but you can BYOB :D

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa! I am completely shocked that the best Thai in Chicago is in Bridgeview Illinois. Well I'll be! Had some takeout from here given to me in the office. Say what now? It was so delicious! So, a few of my work crew friends and I went over for lunch to check it out. We each ordered something different. Chicken satay, Crab Rangoon, Thai egg rolls for appetizers. The coconut soup with shrimp (Tom Yum - coconut - lemongrass). Drunken noodles, crab fried rice and pineapple fried rice with chicken. EVERYTHING was delicious! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some great, authentic Thai food in the middle of nowhere.

  • Erin G.

Sam is awesome. He's always very accommodating and friendly with our two small children. The place is very small and the wait is long but you get fresh food that tastes great! The prices are very inexpensive and you get nice sized portions. We've tried other Thai restaurants and they don't compare.

As a thai food fanatic, living in clearing on the southwest edge of Chicago has been a series of fruitless searches until I stumbled on Thai twin over the summer. The food is good and the prices are average compared to a Lincoln park/ lakeview offering. While the interior isn't much to speak of there is an attached grocery store that adds a unique character to the place.

I've lived in Bridgeview my entire life and have never been to this place - driven by a million times. I was never sure if they were opened - there are never any cars in the lot. Went tonight with a group of 11. The place only seats 15, so we took up the joint. It is a BYOB, so that is a huge plus with my group. The owners were really nice and welcoming. Service will be slow, since I think it is just the two of them. Food was average to not good. The crab rangoon were deep friend wonton wrappers with nothing in them - nothing. Some of the dishes contained no vegetables, even though the description on the menu said the should have veggies. We had to argue with the owners to get vegetables, even though they insist they don't come with veggies, even though the menu says they do. So, the brought the sad looking veggies out. The food was just not fresh. I had red curry seafood hot! It was hot and the seafood was decent, but the veggies were just such poor quality. We were in the joint for 2.5 hours. During this time, only one other party of 4 came in, ate and left. Nobody came in for take-out, to dine in, or anything. It was very strange. Not sure how they stay in business. Again, owners were really nice. The food is just not good. There are 2 other Thai BYOBs in the area, both are much better. Sorry - I really wanted to like this place.

This is a great hidden gem! Thai Twin is a small family owned restaurant. It is BYOB Thai style! At first, it may be easy to miss. However, once there it is a small, cozy place where you seat yourself. You are then greeted by one of the very friendly wait staff. They will offer you glasses to go with your wine and water too. They even brought us out ice for our wine! I had the Vegetarian Spring Rolls as an appetizer...delicious! For dinner, I had the Vegetable Stir Fry cooked mild. It was delicious! It came with a plate of white rice and another with the stir fry of mixed veggies such as pea pods, corn, asparagus, broccoli, and my favorite, zucchini! You can spice it up with the curry sauce on the table if you please. Each plate is a very generous portion, and believe me, you will not leave hungry! I was even offered a refill of my rice! It's a perfect place for a date night, girls night out, or just meeting with a friend. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Bridgeview area! My only drawback is that I wish they had brown rice available as a choice over the white.

If I could I would add another half star. This restaurant is very-very quaint and very-very-very informal. I counted six 4 x 4 tables evenly spread apart and one 6 x 4 table. When my wife and I entered, there were two other groups seated and all the rest of the tables were un-bussed. I guess the owners are the husband and wife team who were the only ones working. The husband greeted us very warmly and told us to sit wherever we liked, (apparently the wife was doing the cooking). He then proceeded to clean off our table, bring menus and a few minutes later, water. He was extremely warm and accommodating during our entire visit. It took a while for him to take our order as he was bustling about, tending to various duties, but he finally got to us. This wasn't a really big deal for my wife and I, but knowing how some people monitor service very carefully, I'm just giving you a heads up. It's a bare bones operation. My wife had the Pad Thai, I had the Pad See Ewe and we had egg rolls for an appetizer. The food was good. It definitely was not great, but it wasn't bad. The portion sizes were average. We really liked the food at Penny's Noodle Shop on Sheffield, but that location is closed and Thai Twin is much closer to home for us. Thankfully, more Thai restaurants are opening on the south side and we intend to try them all. We will certainly return to Thai Twin also, to sample more dishes.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I was introduced to it by some friends and I was completely blown away. The owners are very nice and friendly. the place is small but comfortable. there usually isn't a lot of people dining in because many order take out. the food is delicious! and so fresh! and it is also BYOB. if you haven't given this place a try I suggest you do. you won't be disappointed.

Best Thai food in Chicago! You cannot go wrong. Everything is fantastic and the owners are so nice! I am a new fan and won't be eating elsewhere going forward! Will not disappoint.

Just an incredible find, if you can find it. It is between 79th and 71st Streets on Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview. Husband and wife duo with wife preparing the dishes. Absolutely incredible! Not for the novice. Made for the adventurous and/or the experienced authentic ethnic cuisine buff. BYOB seals it.

A divey exterior & interior - just view it as camouflage for a gem. Good food, Thai egg rolls & spring rolls are WONDERFUL. I also love their Thai curry version of Mongolian Beef. Great Thai Iced Coffee!

Great food, but it's not a restaurant type place. Looks like old living room mixed with kitchen. But everything is clean though. For me thats what matters. Food must be good, place must be clean!

Went here for the first time today, and couldn't have been happier. I think it's true what they say about having to cook your food with love for it to taste good...this quaint establishment overflows with love. The owner is just the most humble and kindest man, and he smiles at you every time he comes by to ask you of everything is well (it was) Ok, so bottom line: Clean and tasty water, so you know all else is good. Ordered the noodle soup with beef, and it was big enough to share between my friend and me (and the owner actually told us it would be so that we wouldn't order too much). It was ridiculous. It was perfect. Sweet and spicy. Not a single ingredient was overlooked or overpowered/ing. Balance at its best. Then, we moved to the curries. My friend had the red curry with chicken, which se read about (it was her first Thai experience, but she's a big fan of curries in general). I had the panang with chicken and rice--magnificent. I couldn't stop eating when I was full. The rice was perfectly cooked, as was the chicken. Next time, coming back for the soup. Only negative is I wish they had more side options. Total for 2: $27.09 + tip Satisfied!!

Do not be deceived by outer appearances. The food here is amazing. The flavors are to die for. We had the spicy Drunken Noodles and Beef Pad Thai and fried egg rolls. It was so delicious that I will not go anywhere else and I can't wait to try other items. I would give them 6 stars if I could !!

  • Kristi K.

This small mom and pop place is amazing. Sam the owner is a delight! The best Thai food ANYWHERE...everything is fresh and delicious. It is a place we regular. We usually order and carryout because the place is tiny and usually full. I recommend the Tom Ka soup....best in the city!! Sam can whip up special dishes when he's not swamped....we have never been dissatisfied!

  • Tatiana G.

Great food! Went for my b-day today and it's delicious. We had the satay, egg rolls, beef salad , pad thai, and garlic pork. Everything was so flavorful. Once I started eating I wanted to order so many more dishes but was sooooo full so I'll will have to wait until next time :) Goes to show you not to judge a book by its cover!

Best Thai on the Southwest side of Chicago! Vegetarian friendly! Staff (Sam & his wife) are very friendly, nice, and accomodating. They will remember you if you go frequently.

  • Tatiana B.

Outstanding food!!! The place looks deceiving from the outside but it is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to! It's my go to place! The owners are super friendly and the food is just amazing. I highly recommend Thai Twin to anyone!

  • Carm B.

It's definitely different... The food was pretty good, the restaurant threw me off a little bit. There was a strong smell (not sure if it was sewer or what) in the dining room. I can't really say anything bad about it but I can't agree that it's fantastic either. I tried it once based on Yelp recommendations but I probably wouldn't return.

I've only eaten here once, but it made a lasting impression on me. Some of my coworkers also eat there and the verdict is always the same. Good food at a good price. The place is easy to pass if you don't know what to look for and I wish they had a bigger sign. Once you get inside you're greeted to simple decor, a handful of tables and an old couple who runs the place. The old gentleman is about as nice as they come and even poked fun at me for eating my bowl of soup the wrong way. But after the slight ribbing, he told me that this particular soup was the cure all for whatever illness you may be suffering from. Let's just say the day after I ate this massive bowl of soup (which I got for under 6 bucks), I felt great. The soup's flavor was excellent and all the different components came through. The crispy squid appetizer was also very good too (not greasy, good dipping sauce and very crunchy). If you want a small, quaint atmosphere (you're basically eating in an old couple's kitchen) and some of the best damn thai food the city has to offer, pay them a visit. They are great people and serve excellent food. Plus with the byob option, you can complete your dining experience with the beverage of your choice. The only reason I cannot give them five stars is becasue I've only eaten here once. When I eat there again, I'm sure their rating will keep going up.

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for over 3 years now, we have tried 20-30 thai places all throughout the city, north side/south side/ downtown and everything in between, and this place is BY FAR the freshest, tastiest, most authentic thai place we have been to. My girlfriend is from Thailand area so we are very picky when it comes to asian cuisine......The 2 owners are a husband/wife combo who are the only people that work in the place so it is always consistently the best. Both of them are the sweetest people you'll ever come in contact with, this place is as good as it gets!

  • Al A.

My family of four went to this wonderful Thai restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! They had the chicken fried rice, Yum Nui salad, red curry chicken and Mongolian Beef. It was all outstanding. This is a very small place. Don't be fooled by the quaint surroundings. This is a high quality Thai eatery!

Sorry, over the summer I was so in the mood for Thai, but because I live on the South Side there are not many over here. So I decided to go with my partner and we were very disappointed. What happened was it was summer and warm, we order beef salad for startes, but stopped there. What we found in the salad was not at all what expected, and so therefore no more for us. I would not recommend ever because they didn't seem like they were really careful.

IMFG. It's so good I actually used an abbreviation. Outstanding Tom yum, Thai food, all at a very good price. By far the best I've had here in Chicago, and possibly better than what I've had anywhere else in America (some pretty good stuff in Hollywood and Seattle, though). The owners have been there every time I've eaten here; very friendly and helpful with food choices. Everything I've had here thus far has been delicious. They definitely will make it spicy on request, so be careful what you ask for.

Let me preface this review by stating I am a total Thai food snob. Not, the lame Lincoln Park or Wrigleyville pleb who thinks they know Thai food just because they live in the city or went to some tourist trap in Thailand for a week. (Why do Chicagoans always go on and on about Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon? I had Pad Thai maybe 5 times in 5 years there and never once had crab rangoon!) No, I lived in Thailand for 5 years after college, my wife is Thai and I just got back from visiting family in Thailand for 3 weeks in January. I am used to buying Thai food at little street stalls in Bangkok, not fancy expensive restaurants or beach resorts. I gave it 5 stars because of the very authentic food, the very nice owners Sam (Thai name Som) and his wife Windy (Thai name Somthawin) who are very nice and great to talk to about Thai food, Thai people, etc. if you take the time. And because one reviewer here, Damien, gave it one star because he doesn't know Thai food from southside roadkill. Seriously, how can someone diss such authentic Thai food? If you don't like authentic Thai food, then go eat at Taco Bell or something, ok? I was actually looking for a Thai grocery store since Thai Grocery closed a few years back and then noticed that this grocery store had a restaurant attached (Thai Twin). So I decided to take the family and try it out. Having read the reviews here it sounded like it might be authentic. We walked in and were the only customers at lunchtime on a weekend. Hmmm, what did we get ourselves into? It is a very 'simple' restaurant to put it kindly. Yeah, the TV is inside a wooden box or something, haha, pretty funny, but we were able to watch Thai TV, so that was a bonus. The bathrooms, on the other hand, look recently updated and are very clean, which was a nice surprise. We ordered Pad Si-ew and egg rolls for the kids (my son saw egg rolls on the menu and had to have them, what are you gonna do, you know?) and Basil Beef and Beef Salad (Pad Krapow Neua and Yam Neua) which we ordered Rot Jat or strong, authentic flavor. Well, they did and we were not disappointed, really nice and really spicy, just like in Thailand, real Krapow not some other type of non-Thai basil and the Beef Salad was mouthwatering and fiery! Maybe not the absolute best Thai food I have ever had but really really good for the US and one of the very few Chicago Thai restaurants I will actually spend money on. We had some great food some great conversation, albeit in Thai, and even the kids enjoyed it (they tend to like fried salted fish for breakfast and sweet rice deserts wrapped in banana leaves as well as moo-bing and sticky rice when in Thailand, stuff you can't get here, even at a Thai resaurant). This place is a typical hole in the wall with great authentic dishes nicely prepared to order by someone who has run several Thai restaurants over the years both in Chicago and Kentucky (yeah, I said the same thing, Kentucky?). They have been running Thai Twin for about two years now. If you really don't like the Thai food here then you really don't like authentic Thai food. Oh yeah, BYOB!

This place is the best Thai spot on the southside period. The decor is not great but who cares when the food is good. The two ladies that run the restaurant were very friendly. I'm thai, so I know how the dishes are suppose to be. I was with three of my friends and they loved it also. And they are not thai. We ordered the beef salad, mixed meat fried rice, shrimp green beans, chicken satay with the delicious peanut sauce and pad thai. Can't wait to go back there. Delicious!

  • Jim C.

Best Thai food place on the south side, period! Easy place to park and get some great food that is not over priced and amazing in taste and flavor and looks equally amazing in preparation! I do feel bad as Sam and his wife can only do so much being two and wanting the best experience for their clients that do it all, cook, serve and take the orders. So be patient and ready for some great food!!! The place is small but cozy and easy to get to, max it could hold is 20 with the 4-5 tables that are there. If all the tables are full you can expect to wait a bit to get your food if you are a newbie, otherwise Sam will take care of you since he knows you :).. The items that we had that were great!!! Combo Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, Pad Thai, Crab Rangoon, Panang Curry Chicken.. Strongly recommend you try this place if you are in the area or stop by as they do have the best Thai Food I have ever had!!!! Thanks Yelp for finding this place for us!!

You must understand thai spicy is not Mexican spicy...its real...these people work very hard everyday to please every customer....if u have a special request please tell them....if you haven't been to Thailand then you don't understand what thai food is really about....not to be critical. .but just saying If you don't know what your ordering....don't leave a bad review. .ask first....the food I like and know is good...its also hard to get products from Thailand that are fresh...please try them....they're awesome. ...

The owner here is the nicest restaurant owner I have ever met. I came in and didn't have anything but an American Express card to pay with, which he told me he doesn't take, but he insisted to make the food for me anyway and gave it to me free ! I could not believe it, he just told me to make sure to come back again as a regular customer. I had Pad Si Eew and it was good, but I like my sauce sweet for this dish and it had more of an authentic flavor going, which wasn't bad, just different from what I expected. I can't wait to try out other new dishes as this seemed like really authentic thai food.

I read all the really excellent reviews before my daughter and I went yesterday, needless to say, we had high expectations and Thai Twin did not disappoint! The food and the service was outstanding. The man working there was so sweet and genuine. I wish it wasn't so far away, otherwise I would stop eating Thai downtown and stick with Thai Twin. The place was clean and charming. You feel like you are in the dining room of a friendly Thai family's house. Also, they have a store attached where you can buy, i'm assuming, Thai groceries. I have been searching different stores, even the Euro Fresh Market and have not been able to find Thai Basil, the little store attached to Thai Twin has Thai Basil - Yay! Can't wait to go back!

There aren't many places to get Thai on the southside, but holy carp is this place fantastic despite the lack of competition. Can beat the tar out of most northside joints any day. They even have some northern Thai dishes, which are hard to find because most European descended people would consider them, well, odd. The owners are really sweet people, and are always willing to talk to customers or take special requests. If there's something you like and don't see it on the menu ask them - if they know how to make it and have the ingredients at hand, they will make it for you. If they get enough requests for it, they will add it to the regular menu. You like spicy? They will make it as spicy as you want. Tell them as hot as a native Thai would eat it, and after you are done crying from the burn you will have clear sinuses for about a month. Favorite things: Tom Yum soup - very lemongrassy; great when you have a cold that you want to kill; probably the best I've had anywhere in the city (or at least is a close second to Roseded's). Jungle Curry - its best with chicken; we're very proud to be part of the "lobby" that got this one on the regular menu. The only drawback is that there's no delivery. But dude, its worth the drive over.

I've been to 70 bajillion Thai places. Next stop, Bangkok. Meanwhile...remember those horseracing video games where the horses, neck and neck, head toward the finish line, and it's a pixel or two that decides the race? (Ok, maybe it's just me who remembers that race, which exists only in my head.) Anyway, Thai Twin wins my (perhaps imagined) horsey pixel race. So many Thai restaurants do so many different dishes well. But it's hit or miss. My bet is always Beef Salad and Pad Thai. Thai Twin wins on both. I've already discussed the subtlety of the beef salad, but this time, the Pad Thai Tofu also won me over. Fried Tofu, not too sweet, noodles al dente, lovely fried egg, and a bit of spice. The owner, (who is a doll) will ask you how you prefer it, and he and his staff will make it as such. It's a small space, and if your looking for ambience, calm down and enjoy the food. There's also a Thai grocery next store, if you want to cook, or buy a Lime plant. This is my go-to Thai place now. Worth the trip.

The only place in the Southside where you can get authentic thai deliciousness. I absolutely love their pineapple curry along with ALL the noodle dishes. Also, I enjoy stopping by the grocery store adjacent to it. The service is wonderful and the couple who run it seem to really put so much effort in to making every single customer feel welcomed. ... and its BYOB. I would give it 5 stars if their beef salad came with more greens.

In town for work for 3 weeks. Coworker suggested this place last Tuesday. Have been back 4 additional times! Food is insane. The Tom Kha is the best I have ever had, and the green curry was perfect. This place is the real deal.

This place is the best Thai restaurant in the southside. I used to pass this place for years and always thought it was just a grocery store. I've been going to this place for the past 2 years. The owner is the nicest and coolest guy too. I highly recommend this place if you happen to be in the southside.

We stopped by for a late lunch today and got excited to see that the restaurant was open. But then we went inside and it was closed. After standing there for a few minutes trying to figure out why the posted business hours did not match what was actually happening, we were told they just hadn't flipped the sign to "open" yet. Ah, mystery solved. Like the other reviewers have stated, the decor is pretty minimal. There was only one old lady working both the front and cooking, so service was very slow. The lady spoke Thai and I was able to order all our food "Thai style", i.e. not as Americanized. Woo! The chicken satay was good and came with very tasty peanut sauce and cucumber sauce. The cucumber sauce was light and refreshing. We had shrimp Tom Kha and amazingly, it came with 8 large shrimp! We also had the Yum Nua and pork Pad See Eew. The latter two dishes were also good, but were ignored a little as we got stuffed. Overall, a decent selection of Thai food with a chef that can cook it. I would go back to support such a small business, but would note that the single staff results in slower service. Also note that it is BYOB.

One of the best Thai food I have ever had. The service was quick and very kind. The ambiance was not very great but waa cozy, like home dining room, small and cute. I went there one Saturday eve and there was no proper sign. They surely need a bigger and brighter sign outside.

This is a hidden gem in bridegeview. To begin with the service is great, even with their light staff they always manage to serve their customers promptly.Their spring rolls and pad Thai are some of my favorites. Everything tastes original nothing blend, you can tell that everything is made fresh and from scratch. Every time I visit this place I try a different entree and so far I haven't been disappointed.

The food was absolutely fantastic! Spring rolls made my day & the pad thai had the perfect amount of noodles, chicken, heat (medium) and the perfect portion! Fair warning, upon arrival you walk into your grandma's basement. It was startling to walk into a long table seating 10 and other randomly placed tables without knowing whether to pick a seat or wait for the owner to offer one but after that intial reaction it was very comfortable. The owner was freindly and after the other patrons left, he handed me the remote to the TV! And on Thursday! My favorite TV viewing night. How did he know that watching Parks & Rec while eating an amazing Thai dish with my boyfriend was exactly what I needed?

This place is a gem!! Had the seafood garlic stir fry (medium spice). It was spicy but delicious. Plus, it's a BYOB.

Just got home from having a GREAT dinner at Thai Twin! My dad knew the owner back when he owned Thai Smile and said that we needed to check out Thai Twin because how good the food has always been. We ordered the Pineapple Curry/tofu, Cashew Curry w/tofu, Red Curry w/chicken, Chicken Laab, spring rolls, and the squid appetizer. Every dish was fantastic! My mom and wife tend to like their food on the mild side and my dad and I love our food spicy. Everything was cooked exactly as ordered. At the end of the meal the owner came to the table with complimentary Thai custard which was very thoughtful! Disregard what the restaurant looks like on the outside, it's the fantastic food and genuine warmth of the owners inside of the building that will make you wanting to come back again and again! PS While the restaurant does not offer alcohol it does offer the option to BYOB

Since the closure of Preaw whan, I have been mourning good, high quality, authentic Thai cuisine until one day I stumbled upon this little place in the middle of an Arab-Polish neighborhood. I thought, "huh, don't expect much, grasshopper, you're in an Arabopolish hood. These poor people probably don't get much of any business." So I went in to the small cafe-like restaurant and was greeted by the owner, I looked at the specials on the board and knew that I was in for a treat. Since I LOVE Thai cuisine, I like to order a few different items to eat through the week to give the place a fair shot if they're weak in one area and strong in the other. MY GOD! OMG! Thai Twin move to Chicago!!! If I had the money, I would open up a Thai Twin Jr in Chicago. This place is outstanding! The owner is so humble about how good the food is. I have come up with this conspiracy theory that the city Thai restaurants dish up mediocre Thai food for the masses cause they can get away with cutting corners, while the suburban businesses stick true to the cuisine they enjoyed in Thailand and still do in their homes. My gosh, this place. I can't be more effusive how delicious the food is here. 1. Laab gai--phenomenal, perfectly executed, no skimping on the toasted rice powder, nice touch of pla and lime juice, plenty of fresh herbs 2. Yum nua- the best, absolutely the best. The beef is perfectly sliced and perfectly cooked, the portion is ample, and the ingredients are top notch 3. Red curry- again, full use of fresh ingredients, nicely sliced meat. I wish I had the menu with me so I could recollect whatelse I've had here, but it all skips my mind. I really hope this elderly couple succeeds with this restaurant, they are so polite, so engaging, and so eager to please! The owner is so kind, he remembers (i've only been 3 times) the first time I ordered and asked for sticky rice (which they don't have), but the subsequent times he always would remind me "please call a day before and my wife will make it for you!" (they need a day in advanced cause the rice has to soak for 6+ hours prior to cooking). If you love authentic Thai cuisine, this is definitely the place to go. Just as a general reference, if you see a low rating for a restaurant, I would suggest looking at what that person's reviewed-- if it's all American, Mexican, or other non-asian food, it's probably unlikely that they're a big fan of it. Also I would take into consideration what exactly wasn't good about it (a piece of hair? big whoop, imagine what you *don't* see), if that's not there, I would take the review with a grain of salt.

I was a little leery about posting about this place -- I want to keep it for myself, but the owners are so AWESOME! The food - SO DELICIOUS!!! The freshness and combinations of the amazingly tasty dishes speak for themselves. My friend had the (shrimp) panaang (sp?) and I had the (chicken) red curry - spicy - how I like it - but the laying of flavors was just unbelievable. so many different ingredients all come together and all I can say is wow! all white chicken in my curry, the shrimp were large and tender in the panaang. For about $8 or $9 each. It IS a little hole in the wall, but clean and the owners are so attentive and accommodating. BYOB. What more could you want? You leave with a full belly, and a somewhat full wallet too! I'll definitely be back....

After I got off the plane from Seattle, I headed over to Thai Twin to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised as I was greeted by the owner's Sam & his wife who does the cooking. I told him I wanted to treat a friend who had never had Thai food to their restaurant the next day. The next evening we showed up and was again greeted by Sam. My friend looked all through the menu but didn't know what she'd like. I explained several of the dishes and we choose two with an appetizer, Chicken Satay. I ordered the dishes in Thai as I could speak a bit of Thai after the USAF at U-Tapao Air Base during Nam. My friend really enjoy the food and said she'd bring her family back in the future. I know Thai Food very well as my daughter in law runs a Outstanding Thai Restaurant in Kent, WA. "Grandma's Girl Thai". grandmasgirlthai.com I would recommend Thai Twin if you are interested in great Thai Food on the SW side of Chicago!

The sweetest owners and even better food. The crab rangoon is out of this world, not sure how Thai it is. They actually make things spicy and will adjust anything to your tastes. Very fresh.

I have been going past this place for years.Did not know this was here till I read the reviews I have lived in Oak Lawn all but 4 years of my life and I'm in my 50s..I like a few others don't want to tell for fear we will never get a seat again.OMG it was fantastic we tried a couple of different things..Each one better than the one before.I will say be very careful we told the young lady taking care of us that we would prefer med.Have to say it was running extremely hot .My husband couldn't finish what he had it wasn't near med it was over the top hot.But now we know.Cant wait to go back..Ordered a couple of appetizers. They were fantastic Had the Spring Rolls and Tempura Shrimp both were excellent.I had the Pad Thai My husband had Chicken Curry..Both very very good but like I said way hot,Thought maybe it was us but a family sitting near us said they are running very hot tonight. With that being said still one of the best Thai places I have ever been to very friendly clean and fantastic food..Decor pretty bland but you cant eat decorations.Give it a try you wont be sorry.Would give it five but little to hot .

I love it!! MY favorite it the garlic chicken!! I actually went to Baisi Thai today at the Oakbrook mall & yes its very nice inside with great service but the food is NOTHING compared to Thai Twin!!! To be honest, I probably won't even go back to Baisi Thai. I live right down the street from Thai Twin & it's awesome. Coz You might have to wait quite a bit for the food but it's worth it. Love Sam & his wife!! GREAT people.

My friend took me here for dinner the other night after finding out about this place on Yelp. Based on my first impression from the outside, I was a little skeptical, but we were greeted kindly by the owner. The food was delicious! Perfectly prepared and perfectly spicy for my liking after all I said was, "I dunno, medium spicy please." The dish was the right amount so I didn't leave hungry or overly stuffed. They know what they are doing here! YUM! And...BYOB...bonus!

Second chance does not disappoint. Stopped in to try the pad thai with tofu and I must say they did a great job. When I ordered the pad thai they asked how spicy I wanted it, so asked for medium spicy. I have to say that anytime you ask for spicy or see the red pepper on the menu it almost always lets you down, not this time! I had a runny nose on the medium and I will order the hot next time. Can't wait to try more.

So, I'm not gonna lie. I've been in love with this place since I was a little kid when I first started going to this restaurant. I think the first time I went here was in around 1994. Back then it was called Bahn Thai and it was a brother sister operation. When they closed in 2006 it left an empty space in my gastronomical heart. I tried many different thai restaurants throughout the city and suburbs and nothing could compare to that old feeling of Bahn Thai. And just when I thought that all hope was gone, (especially after VTK- refer to a previous review), my prayers were answered. After a two year hiatus Thai Twin came to be. That flavor, that authenticity, that food so spicy it gives and takes away your sinus infection in a matter of a whiff. Yes... it's back. You want Pad Thai you got it. You want pad se ew you got it. You want Tom Yum, Yum Neau, and so many curries it looks like the colorful olympic rings of death, you got it. The atmosphere isn't something you're gonna find downtown and I like that. This isn't about all of the gimicks, or the fancy furniture, or the server with the apron that was made by Dolce & Gabbana, or the music that sounds like an acid trip. This is just a brother (Sam, the waiter) and his sister (the cook) doing what they know and love. He can barely speak english, but he knows what you're talking about and how you want it. And they've perfected it. Flavor. That's what this food is about. Flavor. No need for uber fancy plating. The food speaks for itself. What's also nice is that the restaurant is connnected to an oriental grocery store. In that, my philosophy is any restaurant that is connected to a market involved in the same capacity, you know it has got to be good. So in culmination, yes the T.V. frame may look like something McGyver mad with a hanger, paddle, and rubber band. Yes, the linolium flooring may squeak under your feet. And yes it's byob. But my recommendation is if you think you've had authentic thai food, come here and put that first bite in your mouth, and you will realize you're sitting in Bangkok Palace.

Awesome little gem! This place is small to eat in as it is half grocery store and half restaurant. I went with a rather large adults and group 6 and a 1 year old (big mistake) we did get accommodated rather well. There is only about 3 people on staff 2 cooks and 1 waiter. It is BYOB which is great you can bring a cooler or a few bottles of wine and he will keep them in the back for you. It does take quite a bit of time to get your food but it is worth the wait as everything is fresh. I ordered the drunken noodles and we had other dishes beef fried rice, pad Thai and Mongolian beef. We also ordered appetizers spring rolls and pot stickers. Everything tasted great! the drunken noodles were spicy but not overbearing it was my favorite of the dish of the night. I will be heading back to eat there very soon, but since it is small unless your kids love watching tv (tv in dining area) and are old enough to behave and not run around I wouldn't recommend bringing them. They also do carry out!
