I've dined here several times and have always had a good experience. The service is fast and the dining area clean and pleasant. I've had a skillet, pancakes, French toast and many other dishes and enjoyed them all! This is by far our favorite breakfast spot in town.

Another great breakfast. Great food, excellent service. Friendly staff. Very clean nicely furnished.

UPDATED REVIEW: Lunch kinks are worked out, although I am admittedly primarily a breakfast diner there. There really aren't enough good things to say about both the food and the service. The omeletes, skillets, and pancakes are all first rate. And unlike the rivals, they still have the Greek toast I crave. Even on busy days, the staff finds a way to make our meal special. And on weekdays they treat us like royalty. No stars off for the fact that you have to wait for a table on weekends. It is annoying, but I understand why. Good food attracts people! Y&B is probably among the top breakfast places I've visited in Illinois. And it's worthy of your patronage too.

Here at Yolks and Berries before the Sunday Church Croud and Service SUCKS took 45 min till waitress showed up and then was all pissy with us she said and I quote you know what you want yet!!! I was like what the F*** not a good way to start my day!!!!

I was fortunate enough to meet with two of my former students and athletes while teaching in central Illinois. I owed them lunch so we figured Yolks and Berries would be a good midpoint. The last time I was in the area was July, when Bears Training Camp was going on. That's when I thought they had a chance to make the playoffs. As Marc Trestman has shown us, he doesn't know much about football. If I hear him say "It's a process..." one more time, I am going to process my head into a wall. Now onto Yolks. Very nice restuarant on 50. In the midst of Coyote Canyon, McDonald's, Baker's Square, and other chains, this place has a pretty tacky sign that is hard to miss. Arrived around 1230 and restaurant was empty. Had a nice corner booth. Waters were filled once and coffee was filled occasionally. Our server must've thought I wouldn't tip very well because it was three males (ages 16-26). Little did she know this teacher is on Christmas Break (double pay check...is it 1-15 yet?). Food orders: HS Kid: Chocolate shake for the kiddo with chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs Over easy College Kid: Over easy eggs with hash browns and sirloin steak Teacher kid: Omelette with pepper, broccoli, mushroom, onion, and cottage cheese and multi grain. Food was pretty good for Exit 315 on I 57. I am hopeful that I can come here when I have Bears optimism again. Man, I hope Cutty is still around! If you're looking for a small business to support around BEARbannais in July, this is it!

Perfect breakfast place! Lee was our waitress and made great recommendations on the California omelette and country skillet. The cinnamon roll pancakes were out of this world. The omelette was chock full of avocado, bacon, onions and cheese. No skimping on anything! Fast, very friendly service, and nice atmosphere- not loud even though the entire restaurant was almost full. Definitely worth a visit

We used to come here every weekend, but we haven't been in since our son was born (the newborn doesn't enjoy restaurants as much as we do). The waitresses recognized us every time and had my fiances order memorized (I try something new each time). The menu offers a lot to choose from and the food is always good. This may sound odd but- I had stopped ordering omelettes for years bc I always seemed to get a piece of eggshell in mine. Once we started coming here my fiance convinced me to try them again. Not once has that happened to me here and I order an omelette every single time. You have no idea how happy that makes me! My only complaint is the bussers. While I was pregnant (I couldn't sit as close to the table anymore) two of the bus boys hit my chair four different times with the dish cart. We asked the waitress to move us to a booth which she was happy to do.

This building has been around longer than I've been alive. But, a midst all the hype about this place I dragged my fancy daughter who ordered hot tea (insert British voice here) and pancakes (which she devoured). The portions are definitely not lacking. But, the food itself could have more flavor beyond salt. (I'm half hispanic so if the flavor doesn't kick my taste buds to a new millennium then it's bland lol) I ordered a breakfast skillet that came with biscuits and gravy, and to me it was just alright. I gave hubby the left overs. Now, if you ask him he loved it but his mother perceived water as a seasoning in food when growing up so..yep, I'll just leave it at that.

Food was quick, and reasonably priced. The cinnamon roll pancakes are decent, and not at all like I was expecting, but tasty. Meat and potato skillet was very good. Will be back!

If you are in the Bradley area and looking for a great place to eat, Yolk and Berries is your place. We stopped in there today after visiting Bears Camp and had an amazing lunch! The food was very fresh and the service was amazing! I have a few food allergies and the owner took the time to go in the kitchen and make sure that the food was being prepared as carefully as possible! The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone! So if you are looking for good eats right off of Interstate 57 in Bradley, stop by Yolk and Berries!

I keep coming here because the service is great and the food is even better. Forget IHOP, this place has the best pancakes, waffles, and crepes. Besides that, their omelettes are the best in town; they are fluffy and delicious.

Just mediocre. Used the coupon code for the orange juice. It was free so could not complain but was mighty surprised at how mini the small juice was. I ordered the skillet with a strawberry banana Nutella crepe. The garden skillet needed seasoning and plenty of attention. It was bland. The crepe nothing exciting as well. But I enjoyed it enough to give it three stars. All in all the food came out fast even during a busy Saturday lunch period. Also the servers were very helpful and attentive. Not a bad place but probably would not come back again.

Huge menu. Healthy options. Sweet tooth options. Great service! Pineapple upside down pancakes were great. Cinnamon roll French toast was perfect. The healthy scrambler had a lot of flavor and the pancakes were thick and fluffy. New favorite breakfast place!

Group of 6, seated and served quickly. Good selection of breakfast food, everyone ordered something different and everyone liked the food. Good serving sizes. Will return here if in town again.

Great customer service. Very fast to the table with food. Food looked great tasted good. Wished the skillet had more hash browns. Fair prices would recommend.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, for sure. I always love having a huge breakfast and then choosing to eat light during the rest of the day. This past Sunday I had worked overnight and not got much sleep. Although I always feel guilty skipping church, I knew that my attention span wasn't going to be long enough to sit through a 2 hour service, so we decided to hit up the Farmer's Market and go to breakfast. I never really went to VIPs more than a few times, as it wasn't really my scene. Now that the owners have remodeled and given it a hipper vibe, I feel that any type of person could come here and enjoy it. The floors are all hardwood and the booths have been touched up to make this look like a more modern version of VIPs. On to the food. Their menu is huge and have way too many choices. I prefer a menu with a few options or else I end up just staring at it for days and days not being able to make a decision. I was between the stuffed biscuits (biscuits stuffed with an egg and some other stuff) and the skillet. I ended up going with a skillet and I'm glad I did. It was so delicious. I can't remember the name, but it had gravy, pieces of sausage, mushrooms and peppers - with eggs of your choice on top. It was really good and HUGE. I ended up eating half of it and saving it for the next day for breakfast. My husband had the greek omelette and I thought it was better than mine. I love feta though and this had a lot of it! Our waitress was very attentive without being the overly smothering kind that just makes you want to scream "we said we're okay -- LEAVE US ALONE." She showed up enough to let us know that she was there to help and let us enjoy our food. The only real complaint was that their OJ was way overpriced. I ordered a large for $3.00 and some change and it was the smallest glass I've ever seen. I'd stick with just water next time. I really liked this place and am glad to see such a great local business. This will definitely be my go-to breakfast spot as I happily kick IHOP to the curb.

I told Lee exactly what I wanted in my skillet, and she made substitutions to one on the menu to save me a couple of bucks compared to the build-your-own. Lee was very friendly and the food was cooked to perfection.

Excellent place for breakfast! Their southwest breakfast wrap is delicious! The fresh avocado is a great touch. Food is fresh, served hot, and great tasting. The menu is expansive so there should be something that everyone in your group would like. Stop by and give them a try.

This is the best option in the area for breakfast food. A little pricey and inconvenient hours for us college folk at Olivet. But I will wake up early for some stuffed french toast and some hash browns.

We went here yesterday and found this restaurant to be very clean and welcoming. Our waitress was very kind and helpful with the suggestions of items we may like to try. We tried four different dishes and found all of them to meet our expectations. When in the area I am sure we will stop back.

Huge menu, good coffee, nice ambiance and friendly service. I'll be back.

Super yum!!! We were driving back from Chicago and decided to try this place since it is a local spot and they can be really good. It did not disappoint! First the food. Hubby got the stuffed biscuits and he gave them a 9 out of 10. I got one of the skillets which came with a side of pancakes. Both were delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and light. Both our other items could have been greasy if the chef wasn't careful but they weren't and they were fast getting it out as well. There was so much that even with my husband helping we didn't finish it all! Second it was also very clean and the wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable too. Also if you check in on yelp you get a coupon for a free something. Mine was a free cappuccino! We have to come back to Chicago soon, this will be our breakfast stop for sure!

I love this place. The staff is always super friendly, it's a nice atmosphere inside, the price is fair, and it's just an overall breakfast/brunch experience that you would expect to get. The menu is huge, and I always have a hard time deciding what to get. My only complaint would be that the customers can get a little loud for the space they're in, but they're usually the senior citizens, so it still basically contributes to the brunch experience I guess.

I have been here twice now and definitely plan to go back. The service is pretty good and the food is very good as well. I've had an omelet and pancakes both times and was not disappointed in any way. I think you really get your money's worth and I am crazy full when I leave here. Usually my girlfriend or I brings food home because we cannot eat it all. Overall, so far up here it's my favorite place to eat breakfast.

I may or may not be a breakfast snob. I love breakfast food and pancakes and eggs and waffles and crepes and I could continue. I will even eat it any time of the day, calling it brunch around noon and brinner in the evening. But Yolks and Berries was mediocre. We were out in Kankakee for camping and decided to stop for breakfast as we headed home. It was a busy Sunday (on labor day weekend). We were seated quickly and had great service. The menu had a ton of options, which was nice but also difficult when you are really hungry. I cannot recall which dishes we ordered and I usually remember these little details. The coffee was okay and we'd stop and give this place another try but we aren't very local.

Ok. Let me just say this place is much nicer inside now. It was a greasy spoon and then it changed. I was not happy about the Ruben I had here. When you make a Ruben, it has wet kraut as part of it. You put toast down on a plate. You put meat down on that toast. You put kraut on top of the meat and the top slice of bread down. That keeps the wet kraut from destroying the bottom toast. This did not happen for me. I got a severely floppy soggy bottom bread. They wanted to fix it. But I don't really trust anyone with food I send back. So they brought me a new piece of bread. Un toasted. Kinda funny. Not the experience I wanted to pay ten dollars for. So, I grab my proverbial "berries" to you. I do not really like american food anyway, so I won't go back here until my family wants to "take me out for my birthday" but it has to be someplace that "everyone" likes. (but me). ^sigh^

The restaurant is beautiful...warm and inviting, if like you were at home! The staff is friendly and happy. I first ordered the mimosa and when I took my first sip I could taste the pulp from the orange which was is different from other mimosa's I have had. I loved it! It was refreshing and tasteful. On what I wanted to order was the challenge.....everything looked amazing! I wanted to order breakfast so I got the countryside skillet and my mother in law ordered the ultimate Belgium waffle that is a special request. When we took our first bite it was delicious! My skillet was perfect not too greasy and not to dry, and mind you big enough for 2 people! My mother in laws waffle was loaded with different fruit, added a little maple syrup and it was amazing! Last but not least was we wanted a breakfast dessert so we ordered the chunky monkey with without the bananas. We received 2 large crepes filled with chunky peanut butter drizzled with warm chocolate syrup! Can I say it was heaven on a plate! We were so happy we will come back again! If you are looking for delicious home cooked meals this is your place, and mind you the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get! I had to take my skillet home! Come for breakfast or lunch and you won't leave here hungry I promise you! All I can say is DELICIOUS!

The food was...alright. But then again, for the price, I can't be too picky. It is very affordable and the hot chocolate is relatively tasty :) As far as the entrees I tried, they were average: 1) Zamboni Crepes: really did not live up to its expectation. The flavors instead of coming together, just clashed with each other. I could taste the saltiness of the hollandaise and the sweetness of the Crepes but they did not mingle well. Very disparate tastes. Also too much hollandaise lathered on there, in my opinion. 2) Philly Beef Sandwich: One word - Blah. I don't expect it to be Philly quality or anything, but a little bit of spiciness by switching out the white onions for grilled red ones would be a great start to making it a little bit more palatable. 3) Baked Cinnamon Apple Crepes: Much better than the zamboni! The apples were fresh, so that is always good. The crepes are not thin like crepes are supposed to be, but they are appealing taste-wise, so I would recommend getting this dish....one of their better dishes. 4) Navajo Skillet: Nothing out of the ordinary. It's supposed to be spicy but the pickled jalapenos in the dish completely throw off the ensemble. Cooking with fresh jalapenos might be a big improvement to the dish and the flavors being presented. If heat is an issue, maybe take out the seeds from the fresh jalapenos and just put the seedless pepper? I think that could have done wonders for the dish. 5) Chicken Skillet: Finally a dish I thought worth commending. The description on the menu doesn't allow it to stand out (neither is it an alleged customer favorite or recommended) but it is prepared simply. I am a big fan of spice and heat but I still found it to be delicious of all the dishes I ordered because they didn't try to do something different. They stuck to the basics and created a tasty, down-to-earth dish. This dish defines the type of mom-and-pop store "Yolk and Berries" is.....friendly, homey, comfortable. The server was sweet and very accommodating! Can't complain there......I would recommend visiting this restaurant at least once.

Still eat there on a regular basis. No change in my opinion. Excellent food and service. I think their prices are fair and comparable with other restaurants offering the same type of menu.
(5)Linda M.
Had their banana pecan waffle today. It was very good but they deliver it with one tiny plastic cup of whipped butter and about an ounce of syrup. I resent always having to ask for more. If you're in the breakfast business put a pitcher of syrup on the table. Server was attentive.
