High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

Although I really really like the food here, tonight our service really really sucked. Our server (who never told us her name) was maybe new? But regardless, was not very bright. We ordered queso and chips as an appetizer. Somebody else brought it out, as our server was "too busy". But putting that aside, it came out in like 45 seconds. Not kidding. So that was good as always. But then after we ordered, we decided that instead of pub chips, we wanted the fries. So we tried to flag down our server. We waited. And waited. And waited some more. Finally, she came by. We told here we had changed our mind, and she said it would be no problem. So we weren't too worried. But then our food came. I should have worried. Our club wrap came, and so did my nachos, but our burger did not. She said she would be right back. Then we watched here bring food out to another table, and refill drinks at another table, then take an order at the third table. Really? Then she brought the burger. It came with pub chips, as she said that the kitchen was too busy and she was not able to change our order. Um, likely story since the party room was emptying out and the restaurant was half full. (Or half empty) She asked us if we needed anything else, to which we responded we did. We told her we would like napkins, another salsa for our nachos since the one it came with dumped all over the floor on the way out, and refills. "Oh, you want refills?" No, I'm just gonna sit here with a cup half empty (or half full) of ice. Really? Use common sense. If the cup is empty, I want more! She came back right away with refills, but then asked us again if we needed anything else. We politely reminded her we would like an extra salsa and napkins. "Oh, yeah I'm sorry" as she walked away. Finally she came with napkins and a new salsa. So after receiving all our food (well, almost all of it) we continued our meal. When we were about halfway done eating, a different server came with our side of fries. (About time, right?) Then we paid. We had a discount card to use, and guess what? She had no idea how to ring it up. She had to ask two people how to ring it up. So if you read this rant (I do apologize but I am a little agitated) the just of it is this. Good food, good times, but if you get the wrong person, horrible service. I would surely come back, but man do I hope the service improves.

Beef's often has great coupons deals to save on total orders, which is highly convenient. Although the menu selection seems average, taste is typically good. Favorite choices: Fish Tacos Buffalo Chicken Wrap Boneless Chicken Wings

Have been there for lunch a couple of times with my mom. They offer a 1/2 & 1/2 sandwich & salad that was just the right amount for a mid-day shopping break. Had the Cuban & loved it. LOTS of TVs so would be a great place to watch sporting events. We will be back again.

I ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger for lunch and had it delivered. I paid nearly $15 after delivery fee and tip. I couldn't even eat it. The bacon looked like it had barely even been cooked and my burger was REALLY over cooked. The fries I got were completely mushy and gross. A couple of my co-workers had ordered as well and they only had a small handful of fries with their order. When I called to complain all I was told was that "we cannot give you your money back" and they offered to send new bacon. I ended up picking around all of the bacon and eating just the burger patty. Everything else wasn't even edible. Crossing my fingers that I don't get sick from the bacon being so raw. The best they could do is send me a gift card for the amount I paid, which, hopefully someone will buy off of me because I will not be using it any time soon...

Probably my favorite place in the Kankabourboley area! If I had to choose anywhere to eat with my friends, this would be it. There's just something extremely appealing about a strip mall pub. It's tucked away, so you feel like you've stumbled onto something great in a rather boring area of the world. Food is always great, staff is always typical-pub friendly, and it's never crowded. Speaking from the perspective of an Olivet student that rather detests the "Olivet Bubble," this is a great place to go to get off campus and actually feel like you're off campus - hardly any ONU students ever. (But if you are an ONU student, don't worry...they take Tiger Dollars. Just don't use them on alcoholic beverages.)

Spotless, kid friendly, good food, more TVs than you can count and a wonderful staff and owner. Definitely worth a visit to this Florida based chain restaurant while at Bears camp or otherwise.

BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger!! Much better experience than the last time. Better quality food, better service, better visit. This is what I expect from a local restaurant. I will be back and hopefully this visit is repeated.....not the previous one.

Food was great, service was great, and we like the new items on the menu. We tried the chicken dip with chips, very good. Coming here you will experience consistent satisfaction, quality service, and good pricing. The Ambience is a bit confusing; there are TVs tuned to sports and news but you can't hear them. The music is playing a bit too loud, the wall decor are photos of area landmarks, and the seating is booth, tables, or bar counter. We are not sure if they are trying for a family spot, a sports bar, or both. But we do recommend that you give this restaurant a try!

When the rumors of Beef O Brady's arrival to town started, the only way that it was ever described as was being a Buffalo Wild Wings rip-off. Sure, this place has wings, burgers and the like, but I just had some pretty spectacular ribs from Beef O' Brady's, something that B-Dubs doesn't even offer. We've been a few times and I've so far liked everything I've ordered. Past meals include chicken tacos, wings, burgers, sandwiches. I haven't tasted anything that I didn't like (my favorite was always the tacos.) The service is usually pretty good, but they do get really busy during sports games as they have a ton of TVs. Here's the breakdown of our take out dinner tonight: -St Louis Ribs: really fantastic, and a lot better than I was expecting. The sauce was good and the ribs had some kind of tasty dry rub on it. Only complaint was we did take out and didn't get any wet naps in our bag. -Cole slaw: this was a miss for me. I've had a lot of great cole slaw in my life and this was too watery for me. -Curly fries: pretty good and reminded me of Arby's curly fries. Could have been the same recipe. -Beignets with caramel dipping sauce: One of my favorite desserts, but these were only okay. I would probably order them again whenever the craving hit, as I'm pretty sure this is the only place in Kankakee county that serves them. While I still prefer the wings at B-Dubs, Beef O Brady's has a lot of great options that make them a good option too whenever you're craving some greasy pub food. I'll have to keep this place in mind more often.

The food really is sub par, but it's nice for a group of people or if you have kids with you. It's relatively loud in there. The service is OK and there is a good variety on the menu, but like I said it's mediocre at best. There is an adjacent room that you can rent out that would be nice for groups for a meeting or a birthday party, also it is clean, and that's awesome.

A kid-friendly "pub" serving standard pub fare. The ribs are tender, the burgers are big and juicy, & the wraps are stuffed with flavor. Multiple TV's make viewing your favorite sports team easy. Not nearly as noisy as Buffalo Wild Wings either.

I have only been to Beef O' Brady's once. The atmosphere is very nice and clean. (You can tell how clean a restaurant is by their bathrooms and theirs were excellent, even during lunch time.) We had the Angus Burgers and they were delicious. We had both the regular fries and the curly fries and they were very good as well. The restaurant is very clean.

I really like this place! Great selection of sandwiches and wings! The wing sauces go from mild to HOT, with lots of flavor. They have a sandwich called The Waterson, which is sooooo good! Very comfy decor with a sports theme. My biggest priority is CLEAN and this place is! Staff is friendly. They've just added an extra room to the restaurant which really helps with seating. Located in the strip mall where Jewel in Bourbonnais is, so it's ez to find and ez parking. Don't miss the chocolate eruption cake....save room for it. We like taking the grandkids here, it's very "kid-friendly".

When we went here, the place was packed - we only could sit at the bar. The food was OK and so was the service, we will probably go back at some point.
