My husband is a wing fanatic, so when this place opened and offered delivery we were pretty excited. With the exception of a few issues I do mention here, overall we've been very happy. My husband gets the same thing every time - Original Garlic Parm wings and mozzarella sticks. He loves them. Other than the mushrooms, which I always get, I like to switch it up. I've had the burger, chicken sandwich, shrimp, wings, etc. and I've been really happy overall. SERVICE SUCCESSES 1) Delivery is great. The food is delivered so quickly after being prepared that the mozzarella sticks are still hot and stretchy with a crunchy coating and the mushrooms are still crispy. This is hard to accomplish for any establishment delivering fried items, but they do this quite well. 2) With the exception of one driver -- who I just chalked up to having a bad day, because we all have those -- the drivers are very courteous. And we order pretty much every week, sometimes twice a week, so I can confidently say the drivers are really nice and professional. 3) Online ordering is easy and reliable (*except for advance orders, reviewed below*), with text/email notifications not only confirming the order, followed by letting you know that it's being prepared, but they also notify you when it's out for delivery. The last one I love, helps to know when to expect it and it's a nice reminder to turn the porch/driveway lights on for the driver. FOOD REVIEWS 1) Original wings: the wing itself is meaty and cooked properly. Usually sauced correctly with enough flavor. We've always enjoyed them. 2) Boneless wings: The breading does get soggier than I prefer, but not a deal breaker. They're still good. Sometimes I make rice and top it with the Thai Chili boneless wings. So good. 3) Shrimp. Love those little things. Get with Lemon Zinger, Thai Chili or Sweet Samurai. And get plenty because others will be trying to steal them. I have to guard mine when I order them. 4) Dry rubs: I did it once and will not do it again. I didn't get much flavor from it because I was sucking down water to rehydrate my mouth. I've had some great dry rubbed wings and ribs in the past, but from Wing Zone, I will pass. 5) Sandwiches are great. I get the burger more than the others, but all are good. The toppings come on the side in a separate container which works out nicely. *ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT* The following was our only bad experience, but it really sucked so it's worth mentioning: Advance orders don't seem to have the right timing. I placed an online order to arrive at 8:45 this past Saturday night. I placed this order maybe around 2 pm or so. At 7:45 I got a notification that it was now being prepared. An hour in advance? Way too early to toss things in the fryer. There was still a lot going on that evening and we needed to be done eating by 9:15. I didn't get the "out for delivery" notification until 8:43, and it didn't arrive until 9:12. I was livid. On top of it, all the normally great stuff about delivery didn't happen. The mozzarella sticks were cold and stiff, the mushrooms got cold and the breading was soft so there was a gross texture to them. The boneless wings I ordered were beyond soggy, it was mush on the outside of the wings. The fries were nasty. Did I mention I was livid? But we were so hungry that we ate what we could and moved on to the rest of the evening -- which we were now late for. This tells me several things: 1) The advance ordering system submits the order to the kitchen WAY too early. Which means my order sat there dying and getting soggy/cold while waiting to be delivered - and then it took nearly 30 minutes to get to my house. Prep to delivery was 1.5 hours. So bad. 2) Multiple people were not paying attention. When the order went to the kitchen at 7:45, the person(s) preparing didn't take notice that we didn't need it until 8:45 and went ahead and prepared it anyway. Then the expediter boxed it up to leave it sit. At no point did either station notice that it was prepared way too early and correct the matter. 3) The driver was given too many orders in a single run or he planned his route wrong, because we live about 4 minutes from the store and it took 30 minutes to get there. That means the person assigning deliveries didn't pay attention that it needed to arrive at 8:45 and make sure it was delivered first. Or it was assigned in the system long before the driver actually left. I used to manage a delivery restaurant. I know what it takes to go right or wrong. I also know weekends can be stressful to get through. This was the only really bad order out of many orders, so we won't quit yet. Just pretty please improve these areas.
