Healthy Meal suggestions for LongHorn Steakhouse

Gross disgusting sticky dirty menus and salt/pepper shakers. Slow and uncaring service. Long wait for initial contact, drinks, and food. We were never offered a refill on our sodas. Food was passable, but they forgot one add-on item my husband was really looking forward to. Never again!!

I invited several people to a luncheon at this location on a Sunday. The service when we arrived was excellent. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken promptly. The meals took a little long to arrive, but that can sometimes be expected when dining with a large group. The end of the meal was a complete disaster. We were given the option to split the check (which usually isn't the case with a large group). We thought this was a great offer and accepted....much to our dismay the two servers we had were unable to efficiently expedite the checks. I am not exaggerating when I say that is took 1 hour and 20 minutes for the guests to receive their bills. The assistant manager apologized and assured me that "they were almost ready", in my opinion that was not good enough. I will never return to this restaurant.

Went here with my husband for dinner and we were hoping for a nice night out since we don't get to have as many dates because of our little one. Anyways, we went here once before maybe about two years ago and came back. I was not impressed with the service this time around. We were sat and over 5 minutes passed and we were not greeted once by anyone. We had to ask someone for help and find out who our waitress was. Once our waitress was with us, I felt rushed by her. Anyways, we placed our order and once we got our food, my steak was way overcooked (I asked for medium-rare). Our waitress had no problem taking the steak back to be re-cooked but what I didn't like was when I was explaining to her why I didn't like the steak she just talked over me and didn't listen to what I had to say. Well, got the re-cooked steak and it was much better. Would I recommend coming here....sure, why not because I know some days can be bad days and I guess we went on a bad day but the food is pretty good, when they get it right!

This is put the fork down and pick up the friggin' meat w/your hands kinda eating. Writing this review makes my mouth water with the memories of the great meal I had here. This isn't puny diner steak either, this is real meat and it was delicious! I went to longhorn recently for sweetest day and enjoyed it 101%. Ok firstly, anyplace @ that serves baked sweet potatoes and fried cheesecake (take that Eli's...lol!!!) is my new best friend. My girlfriend and I both had T-bones with the baked sweets. We ordered them well done and they were truly well done but not overcooked and blackened and not tough at all! The baked sweet potatoes w/cinnamon tasted like I'd made them myself. The place was crowded when we got there but I figured it was because of the occasion and that was ok...even though the hostess said we'd have a 45 minute wait it was more like 20 minutes. Our server was great and came back to check on us often enough but not too much that we felt the need to shoo her away. Even the manager, who first apologized for interrupting our meal, and then asked how we were doing. We had a great meal, drinks and appetizer for less than $50 bucks! Hint...go to their website and sign up for their mailing list for a free appetizer...I did and it paid off!! What sweetens the deal is that I realized there's a Longhorn near my house...yay...local steak...good steak! Kiss my Outback...I'm eating @ Longhorn!!!

Average price. Decent food. I had Flo's Steak and Salmon. My wife had the prime rib. The salmon was just a wee bit overdone but very tasty. I like well done steaks. Mine was well-done and juicy, not burnt. My wife's medium-well prime rib was medium well. The honey-wheat bread was hot and very, very good. The only problem was the server was a bit slow to bring a second round of bread to go with the salad. All were friendly. The place was clean. I would return any time.

I really enjoyed taste and the quality of the food! (Plus a star) The servers were very nice, and there wasn't a single issue. (Plus a star) The environment was very clean and classy for a steakhouse. (Plus a star) The food came to our table in a decent amount of time and our server checked on us every 5-10 minutes. (Plus a star) The sad thing is the amount of food you get it a little less than Texas Road house and the prices to me seemed a little higher, to me. (Minus half a star) For a "classier" place than Outback and Texas Roadhouse I was a little disappointed in the amount of food for the price they charged but I guess it makes a little sense. Overall: 4.5 stars/5 stars Quality of food: Excellent Customer Service: Excellent Environment: Excellent Wait Time: Excellent Price over Quality: Okay/Alright

A very confused, yet very busy Longhorn. We love Longhorn, but this one certainly disappoints. Very limited bar with no bar tender in sight. I still don't know who mixed our drinks, but they were poorly done. The wait staff really needs training. My Strip Sirloin was thin, grey, and past medium rare by quite a bit. The bill for three was very confusing in the way the waiter allocated the ordered items. I'm still not sure what we were billed for, but I do believe that it's correct.

My family and I got here at around 6pm, I checked in with the person taking reservations and she said it would be about 30 minutes, it's about 7:30 pm now when I ask how long they tell me there's 3 people ahead of me. It's to late to go anywhere else so here we sit still waiting , this place sucks on being on time with a seating time. If you come here and they tell you 30 minutes , turn around and leave.

Staff was super nice; food was good. I only sampled small items so I have to go back but I plan on doing so.

Let's just go in order: 1. soup- we asked if it was spicy, going to share with baby girl, they say a little. Um, chicken tortilla was throat burning spicy. 2. salad- not fresh, wilted, brown 3. steak- parmesan crusted- suuuuuuper salty. meat itself, ok. 4. sides- broccoli is cooked well as requestd but the weirdest texture, like inflated rubber. mashed potatoes- the only great thing there. 5. price- overpriced for what we got.

Good place, decent prices and over all good food. The outlaw Ribeye is my favorite there along with the wedge salad. The break they bring out is always frozen in the middle and so is the butter. Staff is good and friendly.

Ok me and a friend decided to dine out here. Searing was quick. The appetizer mushrooms were delicious. Took the steak a while and still arrived cold. To wait for a refire we were offered some soup. The French onion soup they said is standard with 3slices of swiss cheese. You judge for yourself from my pic posted. The attending manager was polite and the head manager apologized when I reported our experience. After the soup came non appetizing we left. We do hope to return for a better experience. 1star for the mushrooms & 1 star for the manager.

Decent chain steak joint. I eat here often when I want a good basic steak (think Outback or Roadhouse). It's close to home and I have not been disappointed. During my recent visit, the service was pleasant and well timed. The server recommended the Primetime burger to my son. It's a shaved prime rib, with mushroom and swiss. He absolutely loved it! I had a taste of the garlic parmesan fries served with it and they were also delicious. My goto is the 20oz Porterhouse with a baked potato. Standard char fired faire. The salad and sides were pretty basic. Not bad, just nothing to write home about. The steak here is always cooked as ordered. I have never had it overlooked and that's a big plus+. Good food, good price. I'll eat here again.

Ok. Food is great but service sucks called from parking lot. Asked specifically for TABLE not booth for 2. Walked in and it's a 30 minute wait for a table. And then the girl we talked to denied she said there were tables available. I guess hearing isn't a requirement to work here.

I really have enjoyed every Longhorn Steakhouse, except the one in Bolingbrook. Stopped on our way home on our wedding anniversary. I was expecting the same excellent service and food I get in Des Plaines but this was poor. My wife ordered a ribeye which was not cooked as requested and the staff response was you ordered it that way. It didn't even look like a ribeye steak. Her mashed potatoes didn't taste or look very good, she asked the waitress if the potatoes were real or made from flakes - the response was "not sure they come out of a bag". The usual hot loaf of bread to start the meal was cold. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this location.

I had the prime rib what the mashed potatoes and it was very exquisite. my wife had the bone in ribeye and that cooked medium was excellent and the daughter had salmon with broccoli and she loved it. overall great atmosphere to be at and also with the food you cannot beat the quality Love it and will return for sure.

So I gave this place another try because after I wrote the review originally the relations manager contacted me for more information and offered me a gift card to come back and give them another try. I was more pleased with the second experience however I still can not give it 5 starts. I ordered a steak and my bf ordered a chicken dish. My steak was delicious! It was melting in my mouth. Nothing I would change about it. However my boyfriends dish was at best mediocre. It was bland and very very very greasy which is off putting. I tried a little bit of his food and was not impressed at all. I would come back here but the only thing I would order is a steak! I would not recommend any other dish here but I guess if you are going to steakhouse you should be enjoying a steak anyway. Also I would like to mention the staff was great this time. Our waiter was informative and was very nice. He was the one to recommend the steak for me, which again was delicious.

Skip it!! The steaks are certainly tasty, but they don't know how to cook them- I ordered a $25 medium T-Bone and got rare, as did my wife. The worst thing are the watered down drinks- ordered a "Perfect" Margarita, shown on the menu for $8.99. Not priced right to start with- and after a few sips it became obvious that it was almost entirely lime juice and ice. $9 for a sweet, high-calorie mixture of junk. Told the waiter that we were disappointed with them- he couldn't find the manager so never did anything to fix them. When we got the bill, he had the nerve to charge us for a Patron Perfect Margarita instead- $11 each- half-apologizing that he'd pushed the wrong button. Then there is Bolingbrook- the highest tax suburb in Chicagoland- adding its 15% liquor tax on top of its 8.5% sales tax, adding a whopping 23.5% tax to anything liquor, even though it appeared to have less than 1/2 oz. of liquor in it. No way I go back to this place- a Darden concept (run by the same struggling company as Red Lobster and Olive Garden), or for that matter, we're done visiting any restaurant, liquor store (or buying wine from the Costco) in Bolingbrook.

Service was great. Steak, however, was a different story. I'm not sure if the lid on the salt shaker fell off when the chef was seasoning the steak but wow it was way to salty. The waitress was kind enough to send it back for another, which was also salty so no steak eatin. The manager was very kind and picked up the tab for us.

After I attended the Elite event, my parents wanted to try Longhorn. We decided to dine early Sunday afternoon and use my $5.00 gift card. Overall, I think we had a solid 3.5 star experience. When we walked up to the hostess stand, there was no one there and we waited a while. A girl finally came to seat us and had to grab silverware and napkins for our table. The staff seemed unprepared. However, our waitress was friendly. She was prompt with the orders too. I decided to order a Blue Moon, and it came with a lime. I like Blue Moon for its refreshing citrus taste. Hot, crusty bread was also served, and my guests raved about it. Since I tried a steak at my previous visit, I ordered the chicken fingers. The breaded chicken pieces were generously seasoned. The chicken itself was tender. On the side, I had honey mustard dipping sauce. I could taste both the honey and mustard. I can't really gush about the chicken fingers, though. It was a pretty standard dish. My guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Everyone said the food was seasoned and flavorful. We had a pleasant experience at Longhorn Steakhouse and will probably return.

The boy received a phat gift card for the holidays from his work, so of course we choose the meatiest choice of the places to spend it! Of all the chain steak places I can't say that I've ever been to LongHorn. I was indeed looking forward to getting a phat steak and celebrating! We both went for the 22 oz Prime Rib with 2 sides and bread for $24.49 (hey, if it's someone else's money why not go all out?!). We knew we wouldn't be able to eat it all, but we didn't know it would be due to the challenging experience with the meat! There was a ton of silver skin that needed to be cut off. I'm used to Prime Rib having a bit of fat; however, the silver skin just isn't edible or enjoyable to have to cut through. Our knives were dull as well, so this didn't really help our dining experience! I will say that the boy's Steakhouse Mac & Cheese (corkscrew pasta, four cheeses & bacon) as well as my baked sweet potato with cinnamon & butter were both amazing! We sat at the bar since the wait for the dining area was over 45 minutes. The bartender on Friday night was great, though she was a little forgetful. I'm sure there are some other good steaks at LongHorn, I just wasn't overly impressed with what we received. It was an ok steak.

Im definitely a fan. Great service. Food is tasty. Steaks cooked the way you want it . Great appetizers. I order everything when I come here. Ceasar salad is just ride and complimentary bread is actually fresh. Good for a date night or a family seating. Thanks Long Horn!

I went here today with my family for a family member's birthday dinner. It was, frankly, a hideous disappointment. First, the food was a mixed bag. Those who ordered steak were satisfied but those of us who don't eat red meat and tried something else, yuck! I got the tilapia with mango salsa and it was inedible. Gross. Another big problem was the service. Our waitress was the slowest! She messed up our order more than once. She forgot my vegetables and then when I was trying to find out what happened, she disappeared for at least 20 minutes. I asked another waiter who passed by about my vegetables and he said he would take care of it... Of course he didn't. The waiters and waitresses are really bad here. Many times, a bunch of them stood around chatting and not working. The last thing that was horrible was that there was this huge amount of people standing in the lobby and bar waiting for their seat. Meanwhile, there were several (like 8-10) empty tables! Bad management. Bad bad bad!!!!

Great experience! The staff was extremely friendly! I came in with a group of girls so we had a while to wait awhile which was fine. They brought us out free appetizers which was awesome! The food and drinks were wonderful! We will all be back for sure!

Havent been to a LH in years but 11 bucks for a small burger and a handful of soggy fries? Burger was good but over (injected flavoring?) seasoned for me.

I do usually love this restaurant, and when asked for a recommendation for a special occasion I will readily suggest Longhorn. But we went here for Father's Day this year and we were pretty disappointed. The one good thing was that we were told it would be a 2 hour wait, but it ended up only being about 30 minutes. Not sure if they tell people long times like that to scare them away or if they really thought it would be 2 hours. They seated us 2 inches away from the next tables though, making it uncomfortable for all of the diners. I kept having to apologize to the diner right behind me for being so close. I could barely move, so I was not comfortable enough to really enjoy my dinner. Unfortunately this has happened to me at other restaurants as well and I am not sure why this happens. I would rather have waited a little longer for a table I would be comfortable at. Food was great, as always. It kills me to drop my 5 star rating to 4 but it's just not perfect anymore.

Great food, service, environment, and priced right! I have been to this place several times and every time no matter what time of day it's been great! The steaks are awesome, potato soup excellent, and burgers are delicious. Also love the kettle chips with sauce. Overall excellent place for any occasion if looking for a great cut of steak at an excellent price!

This place is good for a group of people and want something a little better with a slightly lower price point. I had the longhorn salmon. It came with a starting salad (options are Caesar or house). The salmon is a little over cooked but the bourbon glaze was delicious. It sat on seasoned rice, and you have your choice of a side. I wanted to see how the Brussels sprouts were. It was too cheesy and too creamy for my liking. Dessert was the cinnamon sugar pillow donuts. Really good but it's a lot to eat on your own. Great sharing dessert. Overall, food is ok and service is nice.

Seriously becoming my favorite steakhouse and I only been here twice. First time with a group of friends for dinner and drinks. But this last visit for my mother's 62nd birthday was absolute dynamite. Our server Joanna S rocked! She took our party of 5 order like a champ. I even mentioned to her my mother's steak had to be served with no pink on it since my mom is a well done kinda gal. Joanna made sure that fire grilled t-bone was to my mama's liking and still burst with flavor. The crispy calamari appetizer with sweet tangy bbq dipping sauce was spot on good! The caesar salads were a great intro to our ultimate steak showdown. I ordered the Ranchers Sirloin 12 oz with a fried egg on top and bacon. Its wingman on the plate was a loaded baked potato. Geez I swear God cooked my steak cause it tasted like heaven! Perhaps Moses poured my seasonal Sam Adams tall boy cause even that was going down like water. Service was great and the prices are actually very reasonable. I love the fact that the ambience could entertain anyone from a birthday celebration or a lovely affair (not the cheat on your spouse one).

Yum! Yum! Yum!! Can seriously become addicted to this place! Took my son and husband here last week after experiencing a rocking time with the Yelp crew at an event. Was craving the steak and sauce ever since!! Everything was once again spot on! Wild west shrimp - amazing!! My son's bacon wrapped white cheddar filet - So damn good!! And our split porterhouse for two? Cooked to perfection!! Service is wonderful and attentive! Not only is the food spot on, but super fast service too! Pricing is reasonable! and it's a much much better option then chains like outback! My only regret? Not knowing that the cobb salad was available as an optional side! Note for next time! You need to eat here!!

My boyfriend and I went for a late lunch and we really enjoyed ourselves. We started with the happy hour wild west shrimp tacos and they were so good I could eat them all day long. Then for dinner we split the salmon salad as well as a calamari. Ive had the salmon salad before and it was very juicy and tender perfectly cooked. The calamari was okay It wasn't as spicy as I hoped but well cooked. I would have traded it for those tacos for sure! The server, Christy was very sweet and attentive and the manager Sarah was also very delightful. It was a very enjoyable dining experience.

For a chain restaurant its a good steak. But it was the bartender that really sold it for me. Tina was awesome, she was fast, friendly and makes a mean mojito. I was there on a Wednesday, I don't know when else she works but sit in her section. The food was pretty damn good too, get the green beans as a side, they kick ass.

Stopped by the day before Mothers day and even though it was only 5 the place was packed. The restaurant isn't a large place and when we were leaving the wait was an hour plus. With 5 of us, the food ranged from average to good. Service was okay for as crowded as it was.

  • Dave S.

This restaurant is not even close to being near the top of my list for steak in the SW burbs or anywhere for that matter. Our server took care of us OK but he was very cold almost to the pint that we were just waiting for him to come back to are table and butcher us with an ax. If you like your food salted so much that it is all you can taste or so much salt that it immediately sends your blood pressure into the danger zone, then you would have loved our meal. My steak was pretty lousy. I don't know what my steak house mac-n-cheese even tasted like as my mouth was filled with salt and that is all I could taste. Hey Longhorn FYI salt is supposed to accent/enhance flavor and not be a flavor

We stopped in here for dinner yesterday while we were out for a walk while staying at the local hotel. My 2 1/2 yr old niece is handicapped with a terminally illness called SMA. The staff really did a good job to accommodate her 6 foot store wheelchair and our waitress included her in her visits to the table. So, many tend to overlook her and act like she is not there. It made our meal so much better. We also enjoyed the food choices we had and a couple of upcoming items they had as specials. We will be back.

I really enjoy long horn for a comfortable, relaxing dinner place. Nice side caesar salad and the bread thats served to everyone is good when hot. The Sirloin steak is my go to and they cook it exactly the way you ask them too. Clean place and a hundred times better than apple bees. No comparison

My boyfriend ordered a medium-rare New York strip steak... And it came out medium-well. He wasn't pleased. The waitress was incredibly accommodating and she put in an order for a new steak. The second came out a little less done but not much and it was far too seasoned with pepper to be enjoyable. They had two chances and failed both times. We won't be returning and I advise all of you to be weary of trying this place out for the first time for a steak.

Ok I really like this place! First off I love that they play country music! I love the decor in there as well. Always good service when I go. Great service at the one in Orland Park as well so good job guys! I have had the steak and shrimp combo here in the past. YUMMO. My new love here is the BLT steak salad. I went for lunch and had it. Steak was cooked perfectly and it was almost hard to finish. Great size for the price. Great Peppercorn Ranch dressing and plenty of bacon. MMM BACON!! :) I will be ordering that again. If I remember right from another trip they have some yummy drinks. They had a few new Sangria's on the menu which I need to try. I will have to remember to go back and just sit at the bar and have some drinks. I like the set up there. If only they were open later for drinks after work. CHEERS!!

Enjoyed a Black & Bleu burger at the bar with sweet potato bites. They have a couple of Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap, so you have a few good beer choices. Thanks to the cowboy inspired decor, I didn't even mind the goat-roping music. I was hoping that Cowboy Curtis would sidle up. A tip of the Stetson to Longhorn!

I usually never review chains but this place is not a huge chain in Chicagoland, plus it is so good I think it's worthy of my review. The staff is super friendly and effecient and if they mess up, which has happened to me before, they make it right with instant discounts off the bill. The steaks are to die for, juicy and made right! This is one of the best steak places in Chicagoland. Now before you snip at me and say Chicago has plenty of good steak and is known for it, I must remind you that this is not before 1971, when the Union Stock Yards used to plate Chicagoland with the finest cuts of meat. Since that meat packer closed down Chicago has not been the same for steaks, so that is why this chain runs away with one of the best in my opinion at an affordable price too. May I recommend the Mac N Cheese!? Excellent, but not healthy LOL. They have excellent appetizers I can't remember which one I had last time but it was excellent it was some kind of dip. Lastly, keep in mind this place is slammed on weekends with long waits (not the restaurant's fault), so if you want to eat at 6 for example, show up at 5!

  • Melissa M.

I love this place! My husband and I go here for a "nice" dinner but don't want to spend the money that Five-star places charge. You can dress up if you want (we always do) but definitely don't have to. The customer service is always great. I had to ask for the manager a couple times and got what I wanted. I had been a waitress for ten years and know what they can and can't do. I always get the filet mignon. He changes it up between steak and salmon. We love them both! I always get mashed potatoes and veggies, love. He always gets mashed potatoes and extra mashed potatoes! haha I haven't had dessert there yet, but i bet its fabulous! T HIS is going to be my christmas present to everyone this year! The only bad thing is taht there isn't one closer to me, I'm in Glen Ellyn :(

I'm kind of reluctant to give 5 stars for only eating here one time, but it was that good! We ordered the porterhouse for 2 and my mouth is still watering just thinking about it. The steak comes with a steak sauce made table-side. steak sauce, really? as a steak connoisseur, why would anyone use steak sauce? well, i wouldnt recommend that you eat this steak without it! it is that good. I even tried to match this sauce (with a little less luck) at home. the sides were ok too, but you dont come here for the sides, you come here for this steak! i'm not sure i'll ever be able to order anything else from the menu!

Just got home from an absolutely delicious dinner at LongHorn! I had the small fillet and my husband had the prime rib - both cooked to our specifications. Our baked potatoes were huge and nice and 'fluffy' inside. And, I don't want to forget to mention that we started with the spinach dip which was so creamy and rich! Special kudos to our waiter, Justin, who was knowledgeable about the menu and who kept a close eye on our table without hovering - he was awesome!

Good food, especially for the price. The pretzel stick appetizer was excellent and for $40.00 we had the appetizer, steak, potatoes, dessert, tea, and a beer. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I will be back!

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. Sarah, one of the managing partners, came to our table to speak to us personally. She is wonderful. Ray was our waiter and he was very attentive. Jana, the other manager, was able to get us anniversary treats. We had a full dessert plate with anniversary decorations. As always Flo's Filet was delicious! Go here for special locations.

I've probably tried to come here at least 2 times and today was the first time that the wait period was do-able (20 minutes) and now I finally know why they have such good traffic. First of all, great food at great prices. For a steakhouse, I was expecting to have put a dent in my wallet but surprisingly, the price range (which is top 2 on my list, #1 being food quality) was quite decent. For the most part, most of the food seems to be around $12-$24 range. For around $12 you can get a chicken entre and or 6 oz. steak and have the option to add more sides for extra cost or choose their existing combos. I chose a $15 combo of 6 oz. steak with grilled shrimp smoked on a plank (like 5 or so). Every entre comes with the choice of 2 sides or a side and a salad. I chose a rice pilaf (which was amazing!!! the best I've tasted: full of flavor and juice) and a salad mix. If you get the salad, it would be brought out first as an appetizer and the portion is quite large (a good plate full). They also give out unlimited freshly baked bread that was really good. In the end, I didn't even have room for desert. I went with a friend and we each received a salad, ate the whole basket of bread. He had the Flo's Filet (which as super tender and moist-- I definitely recommend) and a good slab of salmon for only $23. Altogether, our bill of 2 came out to be $38 before tax, a really good value considering this is a steakhouse. I would definitely visit again!

Surprisingly we got sat right away on a Friday evening. It's a nice clean place with a cowboy feel. Ordered a sangria and sipped on that while I chewed on some warm bread they bring to the table. We all ordered steaks and they were very flavorful. They came with two sides. Good food, great price!

We stopped in for a little lunch right when they opened and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of everything. The place was almost empty when we walked in so I wasn't expecting the best service, but everyone was nice and the timing was perfect. We were pleased The pricing of the lunch menu was very reasonable, with items averaging around 10$ or so. I had the grilled trout, and it was delicious. The kid's burger was a real sized burger with fries and an adorable kids cup full of whatever you want. Our server was very nice and the manager came to check on us as well. The best part of our whole experience however was the dessert. The chocolate stampede is hands down one of the best cakes I have ever had in my life. It was fluffy cake with chocolate mousse and layers of chocolate on top of that. It was so big that I had to bring some home. Even if I don't eat here, I will probably come back just for the cake. Awesome.

Wow. Me and my wife were looking for some place to get a steak for dinner that we have not tried. We came across this place and it had got reviews so we thought we would give it a shot. We where amazed. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The waiter was very attentive. Most of all the food was great. We will return again soon.

Delicious, went in a week ago with a friend and got the outlaw ribeye and the parmesan crusted chicken and split both, we left stuffed! Definitely recommend both. The server Ray was very quick to refill drinks and greeted us promptly despite the fact the restaurant was slammed. Great experience, only complaint was there was no small plates on the table so when we got bread we had nothing to eat it on but oh well not the end of the world, otherwise everything was fantastic.

Our waiter took my order and our drink orders and walked away from the table before my fiance was even able to order her food. Next time I saw him walking by I flagged him down and told him she didn't even get to place an order. Then he brought out bread and butter for us but with no plates. The waiter avoided our table so I couldn't say anything about it. After out food was brought out by on of the other staff members we never saw our waiter again. We sat there with dry glasses for the entire meal. Worst service ever. The manager was asked to come see us, and I explained to her what had happened. She did apologize and took care of our bill. I hope that the service is not like that when they are busy. I may eat there again but not sure.

Went for dinner with my son last night, and we were in the mood for steak, so we went to Longhorn. This place was kind of fancy, they tried to be upscale like the more prominent places, Fancy, expensive, fair service, mediocre food, The steak was way to fatty, the asparagus was stringy, potato was fine and the ice tea was very good. The fire alarm went off while we were sitting there, all the staff left but they forgot to tell the customers what was going on, too bad we had already paid, but we decided to leave when the fire dept pulled up, I did not want to be cooked well done. Next time it's Ponderosa for me.

My first time at a LongHorn Steak house. My husband, 18 yr. old son and I went at 2pm on a Sunday. We had a very good experience. The waitress and other wait staff could not have been any nicer. The food took a little long to get out to us but that is ok. The waitress recommended their new appetizer of fresh potato chips and dip for $3.99. It was ok. I think I have had better at other restaurants. Husband and son's chopped steak was cooked perfectly to their order. Good mash potatoes, good fries. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken salad and it was terrific.

We have eaten here many times. The food is always good and the price is reasonable. My only complaint is how slow it is to get our cocktails. It doesn't matter if it is busy or not, the drinks usually arrive after the appetizers. I have had the same experience each time I have been there. Not good!

I can't remember the last time I saw a washroom this clean. Actually when I was waiting for my friend I noticed that the whole place looked like my mother did a number on it. Nice atmosphere and very inviting. Wednsday at noon and the place was empty for the whole time we were there. I mean 6 customers total. I guess that's how they keep this place spotless. Our server was on top of us like nobody's business. We both had the salmon salad. Mine was with the caesar. It was very tasty but both of our filets were black on the top and very dry? There are tumble weeds going by this place. Does the cook have anything better to do? Everything was great and I would have given it another star. But I didn't order blackened anything.

I was looking forward to a great steak. The atmosphere was there, the staff was pretty good, but the food was nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal was the fresh baked Honey-Wheat bread. My wife and I both ordered steaks cooked Medium-Well. Mine came out Medium-Rare, and my wife's was Well Done. The manager took mine back to cook it a little more. I thought it would be okay, because I had ordered a side of ribs, but the ribs were very disappointing. Way over cooked. I've had some good "fall of the bone" ribs, but the meat was mushy and tasteless. The BBQ sauce didn't help, either. All-in-all the meal was a disappointment.

I've never tried a Longhorn Steakhouse but this recently moved out to Bolingbrook so I figured, why not! It was goooood!! We went for lunch so not a huge appetite went with! I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken Sandwich which was a grilled, fresh chicken breast topped with melted provolone and a parmesan & garlic crust, served on a grilled sesame seed bun with parmesan spread. It was yummy! I was pleasantly surprised! I don't know what I expected but this place lived up to expectations! It is a fairly small restaurant so your better off going at a weird time. Thumbs up!

Server was great. This is the second time I had Flo's Filet and it has been terrible. Strawberry Salad was great though. I am not sure I will go back. In the past the steaks were great, not sure why the quality has gone way down.

The Father's Day mission was to eat good-quality yet affordable steak and stay away from downtown Chicago. Mission accomplished. Six adult dinner meals including two large appetizers, a few alcoholic drinks, tax and 20% tip cost about $160. (NOTE: After signing up for Longhorn's online mailing list, we had received a coupon to get 1 appetizer for free, so that shaved $8 from the total.) As expected, it was crowded. LongHorn didn't accept reservations, but they had an electronic system that accepted "call aheads" (i.e. meaning you call ahead 30-45 minutes before you arrive to cut down on your wait time) and special requests. We wanted a table for 6 by a window for 4 p.m., along with cutting down our wait. So, while another party who did not call ahead had to wait an hour (or more) to be seated, we waited about 40 minutes even with our special request. Over the phone and in person, the staff were very professional and courteous. Almost everyone enjoyed the food, even with slight mix-ups on orders (i.e. sides). The star of the day thoroughly enjoyed his OUTLAW RIBEYE and BAKED POTATO, while others enjoyed the FLAT IRON STEAKS (particularly the one with portabella mushrooms). They were glad that A1 Steak Sauce was not needed. One person felt the RENEGADE TOP SIRLOIN was not juicy enough though. Also, they enjoyed the warm, UNLIMITED HONEY-WHEAT BREAD and CAESAR SALADS that came with the steaks. The FRESH GREEN BEANS were loved as well. As for what I thoroughly enjoyed: WILD WEST SHRIMP ($8.99): Spicy, tasty, and an ample amount for the table. WESTERN CHEESE FRIES ($7.99): I got caught up and accidentally tasted this starter. I did my best to avoid the bacon and chili. It was pretty good. The cheese was real, not liquid goop. GRILLED SALMON SALAD ($13.99): The hefty salmon was perfectly-grilled, medium-well, bourbon-marinated goodness on top of huge salad. The portion size was out of control, but I'm not really complaining. A whole head of lettuce had to have been used, along with chopped tomatoes, shredded cheddar, cucumbers, croutons, and red-onion slivers. The chipotle ranch sauce that I ordered on the side was a perfect compliment. WHITE PEACH MARGARITA (frozen, $?): It was a delicious cocktail and likely the white peach puree helped. The size was appropriate. On a side note, someone ordered a watermelon martini that was shaken & served tableside. The shaker was left, so actually the amount was of two large martinis. She loved the watermelon-flavored candy/sugared rim as well. I didn't care for the medicinal taste of that drink, but it's hard to avoid that in melon cocktails that rely only on melon-flavored liquor. The decor and music were country, and the restaurant was clean. There was a long bar, along with seating in the front which helped distract from the wait time (which again, could have been spent in traffic toward downtown otherwise). The outdoor benches could have used some shaded cover. I was surprised that the women's bathroom didn't have more stalls than 2 or 3. Also, after the first rush of people, I did notice that tables were not cleared right away (although, our great waitress Beth started clearing ours). A manager asked about our meal at the end and offered our party a few more coupons for a free appetizer. We wanted desserts at first, but our stomachs weren't up to the task. We had a great casual dining experience at LongHorn. It may become our go-to Father's Day destination!

Yum - I was so happy to finally try this place and was overall pretty happy with the experience. I loved the menu - they had things that you don't see at every other steakhouse that you go to. They had a great variety of steaks as well as other things like chicken and fish. They offered a great variety of everything really - beverages, desserts, salads, appetizers - a lot of choices in all of the menu categories. An entree comes with a choice of side and a salad, so you get plenty of food. I liked that they offered several different sides to choose from including unique things such as a sweet potato with butter and cinnamon and roasted asparagus. They also have a pretty good kid's menu that offer several non-expensive entrees that come with a side and drink. The prices were about average - but more importantly I felt like I got portion sizes that were appropriate for what I was paying for. My only complaint here was that our service was a little slow and our waitress was a little off. She never brought us bread until we realized that everyone else in the restaurant had bread and we asked for it, when I ordered a T-bone steak she came back and said they were out, then came back and said they had some afterall - but in the end I got a different cut and when she brought a refill for my drink she brought the wrong drink. None of these things made the experience bad - but I could have lived without. What we specifically got and LOVED: I had the cherry limeade to drink, they offer this and a few other concoctions that are both made to order and are refillable! They also had a pretty extensive alcoholic menu as well (including yummy margaritas) but it wasn't that kind of night. We started with a seafood cheese dip which was pretty good - but I would probably try something else next time, they had a lot of appetizers. I tried to order the T-bone, but ended up getting a NY strip steak. There is a note on the menu that they don't freeze any of their meat, which is why the occasionally run out of stuff. For that reason, I am okay with the substitution. My husband had the Porterhouse - both steaks tasted excellent. Mine was a little overdone, but not enough that I would complain about it as it was still very flavorful and juicy. I got the loaded baked potato which was average - my husband got the sweet potato which was really good. Overall a really good experience - we will be back again and hopefully will save enough room for dessert next time.

Sirloin Steak sandwich - very tasty and reasonably priced, a good sampler to gage their steak products. Have it with the stuffed baked potato. Chicken and Portabella Mushrooms - Very good, but a little salty. (the wife) Strawberry Limeades - great, and bottomless! Firecracker Chicken Wraps - also very tasty appetizer - share it if you don't want to spoil your supper! Molten Lava Cake - awesome, but larger than the picture. Make sure you have belly-room before ordering. Atmosphere - clean and classy. Country music was on too loud for the mellow lunch crowd, but we understand. Maybe some alt-bluegrass next time, mr. dj? We are Northerners, after all. ;-) Waiter: Adrian. Good job, sir.

We were here on Friday night and a couple weeks ago as well. A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I came on a Sunday around 3:00pm and were surprised at how busy it was. We were seated right away, but it filled up quickly. Anyways, we ordered the Firecracker Chicken Wraps as an appetizer - Good, but not as spicy as I guess we would like, or expected. I ordered the Grilled Chicken & Stuffed Portabella - which would never order again. I just didn't like the mushroom sauce and the stuffed portabella mushroom that was on top was the size of a dime. My boyfriend ordered the Bacon Wrapped Filet - and it was very good. Our Friday night experience was much better (in my eyes). We ordered the Wild West Shrimp (enough to feed 4) - AWESOME! I ordered the Sierra Chicken, it was cooked perfectly! My boyfriend ordered the Loaded Sirloin and said he would order that again if we ever go back. We don't live close to a Longhorn - so for us to go back, we will have to make a trip! And with so many other places like Longhorn around us with the same quality (if not better), I don't think we will be back any time soon. Good food, good prices - and worth a try if you are in the area.

We searched and searched for a reasonable price steak house to take our mothers to for Mothers Day. I came to yelp to read reviews and at first was a little skeptical of coming to this place . The comments on their western Decor and county music kind of made me question the integrity of the atmosphere. When we got there we were seated almost instantly. We had to wait for them to join tables to meet the size of our group . I noticed the decor instantly and thought that it was nothing like I had imagined it would be . Nothing gaudy at all and the music was at a nice level where you didn't feel you needed to shout over it to talk to someone at the other end of the table . We were given lunch menus (because of the time we went) but requested the dinner menus. The dinner menus offer a way bigger selection then the lunch menus . So I recommend the dinner menus. I do wish they were given automatically cause I would have never known things were missing off the lunch menu if i wasn't at there website the day before. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable . They aren't coming to your table every 5 minutes after you have just taken a bite off your fork to ask if everything is okay. They come around at appropriate times and refill your beverage without being asked. Was very accommodating. And on to the main reason we go to a steak house ... The food ! We had the shrimp and lobster dip in addition to the stuffed mushroom caps.. They were both delicious and the never ending bread was a nice bonus. The steak was melt in your mouth amazing. My father in-law ordered the lobster tail addition to his steak and was very pleased . The steamed vegetables are crisp and compliment your meal. Overall ... We were very pleased and every one of us in our party of 6 left with good memories and happy tummies. I would definitely recommend Longhorn to a friend. -Bon Appétit

This place was great! A gift card brought us out and we were glad it did. We came in for a late lunch on a Saturday. Lots of cars in the parking lot, but to our surprise, no wait. Since it was lunch, we decided to split the steak and salmon entree. We upgraded to a Ribeye and also asparagus. We also got the chicken roller appetizer. They were delicious and came plated among lettuce, tomatoes and sauce, my only regret was getting the salad with our meal because of this. Drinks and bread were kept replenished. When our meal came out, we were surprised at the huge portions of both. And we were even given an extra plate for sharing at no charge. The salmon was great and full of flavor but the ribeye stole the show. So juicy I cut mine with my butter knife and needed no sauce. It was perfectly cooked - well done just the way we like. This place was kid friendly too. Menu, crayons and even Teddy Grahams to tide our little guy over while we waited for our food, which came up surprisingly fast. We were too full for dessert and a little sad that our only left overs was salad. We will definitely come back for shopping in the area as well as a fabulous steak.

Visited 7/19/12. Sat at the bar and Tina was very nice. She was little preoccupied with the Famous Dave's employees that were therE, but that was fine. I have Flo's Filet 7oz. and my Husband had the 9oz. The filets were cooked as we like them because we asked for medium and they come out medium rare which is what always happens nowadays. I had the mashed potato side and Sweet potato side for my Husband. All in all the food was good. Salad was big and fresh. 4 stars on food as was cooked well and tasty while not being over seasoned. No steak sauce required. The cocktails were so-so and were always made out of sight which led us to believe they did not want to show being poured. We thought they were week considering price. Corona was $4.49 in bottle, 7&7 was $5.69 and 1800 Margarita was $7.99. The margarita being the best value. On top of the price of drinks is a 14% tax that is special to the Town of Bolingbrook. That in itself brings it down one star. Presentation so-so. So good food, avoid the high priced and weak drinks and have a good time.

I went here the other night with my boyfriend. He had no complaints about the meal. The atmosphere was nice, and our waiter was down to earth and very friendly. However, I came here for a good steak. I ordered the Porterhouse, Lobster Tail, Mashed Potatoes, and Mixed Veggies. The steak was of low quality. I swear I've had better steak at IHOP. It was VERY over-seasoned, and WAY too tough. The Lobster Tail was over cooked, hard and rubbery, and smelled WAY too fishy. I made it through one bite, and couldn't bare to eat anymore. The Mashed Potatoes and Veggies were great!! Drinks were GREAT too. But very disappointed in paying $26 for a nasty steak, and $10 for a nasty Lobster Tail. Ewww.

I have eaten here 5 times. Each time the service and food were great. Not disappointed. The steaks were seasoned and prepared perfectly. On several occasions the manager stopped by to check on us. My wife and I are pleased with the consistency of the food and service.

Ewww.

Gross disgusting sticky dirty menus and salt/pepper shakers. Slow and uncaring service. Long wait for initial contact, drinks, and food. We were never offered a refill on our sodas. Food was passable, but they forgot one add-on item my husband was really looking forward to. Never again!!

We have eaten here many times. The food is always good and the price is reasonable. My only complaint is how slow it is to get our cocktails. It doesn't matter if it is busy or not, the drinks usually arrive after the appetizers. I have had the same experience each time I have been there. Not good!

  • Rob V.

Stopped by the day before Mothers day and even though it was only 5 the place was packed. The restaurant isn't a large place and when we were leaving the wait was an hour plus. With 5 of us, the food ranged from average to good. Service was okay for as crowded as it was.

Great experience! The staff was extremely friendly! I came in with a group of girls so we had a while to wait awhile which was fine. They brought us out free appetizers which was awesome! The food and drinks were wonderful! We will all be back for sure!

Sometimes inconsistent but the ribeye, when cooked properly is delicious, and the prices is more than right.
