This place is great! I don't like to go to chain restaurants, there is nothing original and if you are going to go out then go out and try the local flavor... I digress. I like their model, grab a bowl and fill it up with whatever you want with as little or as much as you like and repeat. I like my food spicy and typically you can't get really spicy food at a chain restaurant but now I can have a whole bowl of jalapenos with hot sauce if I want. I service was good, the staff was friendly and refilled our drinks without even asking. Can't wait to go back

Staff was friendly. Service was quick. Everything was sticky and it was like it had been sticky for awhile. The highchair. The table. The floor by our table was like some terrifying germaphobe obstacle course- one misstep and you risk your sandal sticking, causing your toes to slide and dangle precariously over the edge. Back in the day I was a pro at stacking that little bowl like it was a tasty Jenga. I'm out of practice so my plate was small but it was satisfying. I'll be back. I'll probably wear sturdier shoes.

Went here the first time about a week ago. I had no idea what it entailed but my friends had recommended it and said it was a pretty decent place to get some noodle dishes (that you could customize yourself!). The basic layout is buffet-style selection of the items that you want to have grilled. You pick a bowlful of whatever you would like with noodles or just veggies or meat and bring it to the cooks, they grill it, throw on a sauce if you have one, and that is it. I got the unlimited bowls and was only able to eat two, but for $17 it was a more food than I needed. The quality of all of the ingredients they have available is very good. There is a wide variety of vegetables to choose from, most of which you'd expect in a stir fry or thai noodle dish. There are also a good amount of different meats available (steak, different marinated chicken, fish, shrimp, etc.). The meat was good as well, so no complaints there. Overall, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good noodle dish that they can completely customize. It's fun to figure out the right combinations of veggies and meat to get the best tasting dish. If I go back (which I most likely will), I will definitely be more smaller bowls so I can try more combinations.

My family and I came here because our love for Hu Hot. This restaurant seems like a nice family friendly restaurant. Nice environment but a little crowded. The wait was a little longer than necessary. They had plenty of seating for five in here but we still had to wait around 20 minutes. The food isn't that great here. There is tons of options to choose from a nice selection of sauces. They have great meat choices and I loved the many selections of noodles. We all made our own bowl of food. The first time around was really good, cooked perfectly and had pretty good flavor. The second time the food was burnt. It had pieces of charr the whole plate was a dark brown with black flakes. The third time around was about the same. Not very impressive. The service: A lot of the servers are nice but there were some that were very rude. Our waitress only came to our table around 4-5 times. The grill chefs are very rude and act very childish. They are back there messing around the whole time and not doing their job properly. They are very unsanitary with the way they cook and are really slow. In conclusion, the service is okay. The food is pretty bad and burnt. I will have to say I will not be coming here again. I don't recommend this place at all. If you want good mongolian grilled food look elsewhere.

Irritated at poor performance of my waitress. She was very friendly, but so preoccupied with large tables had to wait forever for drink & plates. Not only that they had advertised a discount if I curved in with Yelp. Do you think they honored that? Nope, my waitress forgot to enter it in the register... And I didn't feel like waiting 20 more minutes to save a few bucks. I did really like the layout of the food bar. Shockingly EXCELLENT meats. The steak was as good as a nice cut from a good steakhouse. There was good selection of veggies and sauces. One pass I made was not a very good combination of sauces and too much garlic didn't get cooked down enough. But hey, that is the risk if you are left to your own devices and like everything... It can make it hard not to add too many different (not so compatible) flavors. Well anyway, my bad, and I fixed it with the next pass. To finish my experience here: They have porcelain tile right outside the front door which is as slick as ice if wet (and having residual soap or something on it). I stepped on something wet on the way out apparently, took one step out the front door, and promptly slipped. I would have totally bust my ass, but fell back into the door which bruised and took some hide off my elbow, twisted my back and generally pissed me off at this place. Most definitely better than flat top, but I won't be back. Lots of choices in the burbs, so no reason to deal with that again.

One of the cooks (young caucasian) working the grill turned his back while cooking and sneezed then turned back around and continued cooking. I asked him, you aren't going to wash your hands? He said I turned around. He was offended. Sir you are cooking food and there is a sink in your area. Nasty.

BD's exceeded my expectations. They've got a cool concept going here, like Chipotle, a buffet, and a hot grill had a baby. I filled my bowl twice. The options are endless: rice, various types of noodles; chicken, two types of steak, scallops, shrimp, crab, tofu; veggies like water chestnuts, bean sprouts, pea pods, broccoli, carrots, and red and green peppers; other toppings like eggs which they will fry for you. It doesn't stop there - add sauce like Buffalo, Thai Peanut, Kung Pao, Szechuan - I think there were about 10 sauces that ranged from sweet & mild, medium, and hot. If you still have room in your creative mind, there are seasonings and spices to be added as well. Pile food into your bowl, and they cook it right in front of you. You can fill your bowl as many times as you want, with as much or as little ingredients added. The scallops and steak were, surprisingly, cooked well. I expected the proteins to be overdone. When you include the soup & salad bar with the bowl buffet, it's about $16/person. I only had the tomato soup and later some candied pecans from the soup & salad bar, so I probably wouldn't do the "add-on" part again. I think the unlimited bowl option only is around $11. I washed it all down with a fabulous $6 cocktail from their menu called the "Orange Dragon," a super sweet concoction of blood orange and Dragon Berry rum. Don't miss the 15% off Yelp check-in deal!

I just went there, and it was amazing. They never seemed to have a shortage of staff (that checked on us all the time to make sure we were fine). They got right to the point, and gave us our bowls right away. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection. And the very idea to create your own dish is genius! If you can find one, it's great and you'll love it!

HELL to the motha N-O.....im sorry but when you just have raw meat all over the place and flies landing on the food thats just disgusting!! I know the place is different and unique, but different strokes for different folks! Just not my cup of tea, I like the fact they cook the food in front of you, but i would rate it 3 stars if the raw meat wasnt displayed. Its just not appetizing at least not to me, i wont return.

Eating at any BD's Mongolian BBQ is more enjoyable than a place like Big Bowl or Stir Crazy. Here you get to pick your meat or seafood, how much of it you want, and can mix items as well. And the Unlimited Bowl lets you keep eating until you're ready to explode. This location beats other local BD's because there is plenty of parking and it's FREE!! The management and wait staff are always friendly and the grill masters love to put on a show and interact with the guests. The only negative thing I have found at this location on recent visits is the bowl they put your finished grilled meal in. Before they used a long plate and that allowed easy addition of white or brown rice to your plate. This new bowl makes eating rice with it quite difficult. They have a few low priced mini desserts like Key Lime Cake. Just big enough to get the great flavor but not too much so you over stuff after the main grill meal.

My fiance is from Iowa and LOVES HuHot so when we found BD we thought, great let's go!. 1st try they said 45 min wait at 6pm on a Tuesday. Wow must be great. Went on Satyrday at 3pm. Glad we didn't wait the 45 min for a tables before as it was another half hour waiting in line for the grill. The guys on the grill are busy shouting like it's a party, but i found it annoying. Food was not that great, especially since they add your sauce right at the end for 5 seconds. Not much flavor added that way. I do not believe we will try again.

I am a massive fan of Mongolian BBQ, so I consider myself something of a connoisseur ;) The first one I tried was HuHots in Columbia,MO--and after that I was hooked. When I moved to Woodridge a couple years ago, I was so excited to see a Mongolian BBQ place similar to HuHots, and so close to my home! I've been there three times, but sadly, I am incredibly disappointed. The ingredients themselves, atmosphere, price, everything else is just fine. Servers friendly. But once you get your stir fry... Dear God. Every time we've been there, both of our meals were burnt and had little bits of black.. tar like.. stuff on them. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so we came back a couple more times. Nope. Even when we requested re-made dishes. Every time. It makes the dish taste burnt and gross. No other Mongolian BBQ place I've been to has had this problem. It completely ruins the dish. I have no idea WHY this happens! Fix this, BD's! I want to like you! Do yourself a favour and check out Genghis Grill in Wheaton instead! Much better!

Very good choice! Always a good bite. How it works: You design your meal. If you don't like it, then you shouldn't have design it! Also, the menu is very simple. Throw it on a bowl! If it fits on the bowl they will grill it. Then your ready to eat! If you sign up for their membership you get a birthday pastry... Btw it's very affordable.

We come here pretty regularly, but lately we've been disappointed in the stir frying. Basically, the food sits on the grill. Once in a while one of the cooks gives it a bit of turning. They cook it way too long to where it's charred. My veggies and scallops all have burned sides. The kids cooking are sloppy (throwing bowls and sauce dishes to where they bounce in the floor). Food gets knocked off the edge to the floor. They put the sauce next to the food where it burned off before it mixed in with my food. I had to go get an extra sauce to put on after. They spend a lot of time talking about what they are doing after work. When we first came here, food was really stir fried with a bit of effort put in by the cooks.

This place is nicer than the Naperville location in my opinion which earned five stars mostly for service. This location earned it for service and food and cleanliness. The food bar areas were immaculate and I felt like it was very well kept. The cooks were jovial and funny having a good time and singing to bring up the vibe. Our waitress was very nice and she was quick to take care of anything we needed. M

Simply due to cleanliness. Place is disgusting. Floors are sticky. Counters are filthy. Really disappointed as we usually enjoy their Naperville location.

Saturday night at 7:00pm and we only waited 15 minutes for a table. It was busy but not packed. The sound level was very loud. Blaring music made everyone talk over it. Server was very friendly and took our drink order right away. Then it took 20 minutes to receive our drinks. We started and the soup/salad bar. Almost every item needed to be replenished. Another server told us they were working on it. We decided to go up to fill our bowls. There was dropped food everywhere on the floor. I'm surprised no one fell to the floor. The wait to have food cooked took about 30 minutes. The cooks were yelling and acting silly in the kitchen. There was no need to toss plastic bowls around or smack egg shells around the kitchen. All the antics caused the cooks not to pay attention to what they were supposed to be doing...cooking food. Instead, they burned it. Also, one of the cooks had to leave the kitchen as he was splashed in the eye. My friend mentioned what happened to the server. She brought the manager to our table who offered an apology told us go up and create another bowl. It was not worth wanting another 30 minutes in line. I have been in similar style restaurants and the kitchen was operated on a professional level and the floors were clean. We were in the restaurant almost 2 hours with a great view of the kitchen and food stations. Never once did we see anyone attempt to clean up the dropped food from the floor. This was our first and last time visiting any location of BDs Mongolian Grill.

It's a nice choice since you make your own bowls. Something for everyone. You also get complimentary rice, lettuce wraps, and tortillas for your food. They have a big selection of meats, veggies, and sauces! It's a good deal for all the food you get. I usually only get through half my bowl and the cookers are always a fun and entertaining touch.

Oh man! I forgot this chain doesn't have the fluffy pita/naan bread the others do....bummer. Decent, but at $15.99 it's getting a bit steep from the $10 days not long ago...

I'm a little torn on this one. I have no real complaints. It's just not my favorite stir-fry chain. The pros and cons are kind of even for me though. I would never actually drive over here to eat, but it's a nice option when shopping in the area. I do like that they have a larger meat selection than other places. The sausage was pretty good. Overall, the meat was good, even though the containers/utensils did seem a bit sticky. My real complaint is the sauce situation. I'm used to places where the server helps you on the sauce. Here you are left on your own. I always forget exactly which combination I like. I guess it's my fault but I don't think it would kill them to suggest a few things. The service was efficient in every other way. The drink menu is decent and cheap too! It's still one of the best options in this mall.

Not the best make-your-own stir fry option but pretty decent. Pros: they have Gardein "beef" and "chicken" as well as tofu and that was all I need! Our waitress was friendly and I think we got a lot for our money, and there are many sauces and spices to choose from. Cons: There can be a long wait standing around waiting for your food to be cooked. You can't have your rice added into your stir fry; you have to do it yourself at the table. And while the sauce selection is extensive, they all seem kind of similar... thin, salty, heavy on the soy sauce. Not bad but I'd pick Flat Top over BD's in the future.

This place is an absolute disaster. If flat top grill and a garbage dump had a baby, this is what it would look like.

I gotta say, the food's not bad. But it's definitely not worth the $16.99 that I'm paying for it. Royal Buffet also has their version of Mongolian bbq and it's INCLUDED with the buffet. If you go there on a weekday for lunch, your spending about $11-13 for ayce Mongolian bbq, sushi, dim sum, desserts, and other dishes. This place isn't bad at all and the fact that it's close by is a plus. However, it isn't worth the price in my opinion.

This place is great! First time here and I was pleasantly surprised they have Gardein in addition to the meats. They also have which sauces etc are gluten free, vegetarian etc right on the wall with the "suggested" recipes so you know exactly what to make if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. When I went up to the grill, the grill master? Noticed I had Gardein and asked me if I'm a vegetarian, when I said yes he scraped off my section of grill and put two metal grill fences to stop my food from accidentally mixing with the next guys. The guys manning the grill were fun and interacted with the people waiting. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Check in on yelp and get 15% off your bill. Great place. I'm just bummed I found this place right before I'm moving

I guess I don't have much to say other than the kids working here are rude and loud. Actually, I was watching my food being prepared when one worker (who was off his shift) jumped the counter and started rough housing the man preparing my food. What is this? I understand this is not a "top of the line" establishment, but like, good god get a grip. Protein on the bar was pretty warm and I'm pretty sure if it was temped it would be unsafe to eat. Haven't gotten sick yet, that'a s plus?

I really enjoy Mongolian. My only issue is the cost. I usually overfill one bowl but two bowls is too expensive and too much food. That being said I ordered to go. I ordered a tall Lagunitas and two bowls plus tipped bar tender and grillmaster I ended up spending about $30.. $22-$25 with a beer and tip would seem more reasonable. Anyway, I do really love the concept and food quality. Mongolian is awesome.

Been here twice now. One for my brother's 23rd birthday and then my husband's 28th birthday with family. Never lets down! Join Club Mongo BEFORE your birthday so you can eat here for free though. If you don't know what you're doing with the sauces, someone will help you up there if you ask. FOOD: You make it yourself, so you can't complain :) Endless meat, veggies, pasta and sauces! SERVICE: It's cool to watch them do their thing on the grill. We had a long wait the second time, which was slightly annoying but they move along efficiently AMBIENCE: Perfect for a family outing. Loud and lively -Hungry Hungry Pongy

Service was really slow. Waited a long time on drink refills and tortilla refills. There was only one person working on the grill and he was swamped. I wanted to jump back there and help him out of the weeds. Manager was not present or at least not noticeable. The food was good and that's about the only positive I can say for this visit.

this place is not so great. First of all very dirty. 2nd. food not fresh. tables were almost all dirty, and they didn't have utensils for our food.

We love BD's. We live in Tinley and think that the drive to Bolingbrook BD's is well worth it. The food is always fresh. My kids love the fact that they can pick out whatever and how much of what they like. It is their "own" creation and they have pretty much perfected their bowls. I love the fact that I can make my dish however I want it, if I'm in the mood for more meat or just chicken or seafood I can make it that way. The veggie selection is awesome there is something for everyone. Even meatless selections for those who like that. Plenty of spices to spice it it and give it flavor - don't forget to add it in as it makes a great difference on how your dish tastes. They have a plethora of sauces. Little spoons for you to taste test. The staff is always there to refill the food and sauces and are very attentive to keeping it clean. The cooks behind the grill keep the food moving and at times are entertaining. Good work guys - and kudo's for standing over the hot grill to get our food ready! For the price you get at dinner time salad and soup are included as well. Which is a nice touch. We don't always go for it because we want to save our appetites for the main course! Sometimes the wait can be a bit frustrating. And some advice I would give to the girls that stand around the reception desk it to hustle a bit more and get those tables cleaned off. They need a little bit of management to keep things moving. Once we had and issue and the matter was resolved by management immediately and they went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. One last note: Please bring back the old bowls the curved ones make your food fall out when you are eating.

This place is amazing! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who had kids or wants a group together! I love the concept. You get a bowl from your server and you go up to the "buffet-style" stations with meat, seafood, veggies, and sauce/seasonings. Then you go up to the large, donut-shaped grill. The cooks are very friendly and outgoing. The food is amazing. I also would recommend it to anyone who is planning a birthday party.

I'm a pretty big fan of BD's. I prefer it over Flattop. The crab rangoons are some of the best I've had in the area. I'd say they're even better than some authentic Chinese restaurants. The stir fry is usually pretty good, my only complaint is that they could make the bowl a little larger for ingredients. As for dessert, I've had the fried Oreo's, which are very rich and yummy. My favorite dish is their caramel cobbler. They load a mug with ice cream, apples, caramel, and whipped cream. It's the perfect combination of salty and sweet. BD's is more on the expensive side, but you know you'll get a good meal.

I've been many times and enjoyed it, but last night was a nightmare. Waiting 10-15 min for drinks. Not getting rice until 5-10 min into our meal. What bugged me the most was I told the mgr as he walked by and he couldn't be bothered. He was in a hurry to move on. That is a place that screams don't come back- they don't value your business.

This is a nice casual place if you enjoy asian food. It's on the cheaper side compared to most of the restaurants in this category. You get to create your own stir fry, and they've always cooked it to perfection. They also do a LOT to support local fundraising groups. I had a $10 gift-certificate I got from a local HS. If you're interested in supporting a local organization and want to get a $10 gift-certificate to bd's Mongolian Grill, then visit the store at goboostershot.com .

This is a less pricey version of Flat top grill if you go for lunch. The chefs have fancy swords with which they fry the food. They have a big selection of spices and sauces and salads. If you go with the unlimited option you can experiment a lot. Be careful with the spices bcoz if you add a spoon of each your dish would be on fire and same with your ass in the next hour.

Had a great first experience at B.D.'s today! Stopped in with my mom for lunch earlier today not totally knowing what to expect other than they offered a similar platform to Flat Top Grill. Our waiter, Patrick, was ah-may-zing at taking care of us and making sure we knew what was going on. Seriously, if you get this guy waiting on your table, be prepared to leave him an incredible tip because you're going to be impressed. One thing that's tricky about this place is you are responsible for your own food! If it sucks- well, you're kind of at fault. On the bright side, Patrick made it sound like they would've hooked us up if we didn't like what we created. I threw together some broccoli, water chestnuts, green peppers, potatoes, onions, edamame, and baby corn together in a bowl with their asian black bean sauce. SO GOOD. (Oh, and fellow allergy/limited diet/vegetarian people, never fear: they have a separate area where they cook your concoction so it doesn't touch any contaminate.) Back at the table they had white and brown rice for us to mix in with our creations which was really neat. Definitely different from flat top in a good way- I didn't have to worry about filling up my bowl with noodles or rice, I was just focused on the vegetable goodness :) After our meal was totally scarfed down, Patrick came back to our table and offered us a dessert on the how because that's just how awesome he is. We declined because we were totally stuffed but appreciated the gesture from our great server. I think B.D.'s made two new fans today!

Wow, this place was not what I expected. Having been to Stir-Crazy several times, I guess I've just been spoiled. But, the boyfriend had a coupon, so I figured I'd give it a try. You choose your own meat from a buffet-like table. Gross! Sure, there's a sneeze-shield, but as someone who hates buffets to begin with, this kind of grossed me out. The shrimp and scallops were on ice, meaning some of what you put in your bowl is warm (if it was on top), or frozen (if it was underneath). Yuck. The veggies were really a mess... Semi-frozen and mushy looking snap pea pods, mixed up bamboo shoots in almost everything, and dirty tongs with mashed food stuck to them. Then the 3rd buffet table has sauces and spices... Slopped all over the place. They were all so mixed up, I am convinced it wouldn't have mattered which sauce I chose from, it would all have tasted the same. Instead of using individual clean woks to cook your meal in (like Stir-Crazy), this place has a large, round, hibachi-style table where each one of the guys rotates around, each taking a turn touching your food with their yucky looking, long utensils that they had just used on the food for the person next to you. Gross. And I'm not entirely sure all the shrimp on my plate were cooked through enough. Those that didn't look quite pink enough were left on my plate. Our waiter could have been a bit better- I had to ask for water 3 times before I got it. He wasn't very attentive and we had to flag him down twice for refills. And his bright orange t-shirt with the phrase "I'm feeling hot hot hot" on the back kinda creeped me out. Next time, coupon or not, I'll insist on Stir-Crazy instead.

Good atmosphere. I wish they had different salad bowls though. Today some ingredients needed to be restocked more from the salad bar and the food bar. And a vinegarette other than just the oil and vinegar. Negatives other than that are the spoons for soup are always dirty, the salad bowls are sometimes dirty. So that's kinda gross since you're eating off it. They don't have my favorite tomato bisque soup anymore which also kinda sucks. But on the positive side, the server, Jonathan, I had today was above and beyond any server I've had at this location or any other bds. So he was a major plus. Very polite and attentive to our table. Great personality. Bathrooms are also generally clean on each visit I've been here over the years. Love the food and always enjoy the selection here.

Sat outside. Was told my server would be right with me but ended up going in to tell someone I needed service and caught her at the door. After that the waitress/service was fine Nice food but slightly overcooked the seafood, not the first time it's happened here. Fun place though, I'd come back with friend's.

As being part of the Promenade Mall, it's one of my fav places to go eat. If you haven't been here before, it's pretty simple. They give you a bowl, and provide all meat and ingredients and sauces/spices for you to create your own kind. You take your full bowl to the cooks (they are cooking this stuff in front of you) so don't forget to tip as there is a tipping container. The food is good, what really makes the taste is the sauces you pick, So choose wisely!

Ewww. Can I just leave it at that?? Time after time, BD's has been nothing but a major disappointment. I have countless friends who enjoy dining here and I've yet to figure out why. Is it fun to make your own dish? Yes. Is it fun to watch somewhat cook it? Yes. It is fun when it tastes horrendous and you just paid 13 bucks for one bowl of crap? Not so much. BD's reminds me of a confused Flattop Grill or Stir Crazy. When I think of stir-fry, I think of Asian flavors and ingredients. So you'll have to excuse my confusion when I see Italian style meatballs and sausage chillin' in the meat selection. Oh, let us not for get the spaghetti or rotini noodes. No worries, you still have your standard brown or white rice, rice noodles, veggies, a wide variety of meats and seafood. You have your traditional Kung Pao, Teriyaki, and Pad Thai sauce. And then you get confused again when you see Marinara and Spicy Buffalo sauce. Ok, so is this stir-fry buffalo? Stir-fry Italian? I don't know and I give up. So after packing your bowl with meats and veggies, you bring it to the cook. Every single time my meat is overcooked and the dish has a film of that burnt, char-like substance that cooking on a dirty grill leaves on your food. Maybe I've just had bad luck or maybe I just have higher expectations. So you sit back down, and the waitress offers you rice or tortillas. Yes, tortillas. This one threw me for the biggest loop. You look at your dish and wish you had made something else...but you can't redo it now. Nearly every time I choke down my meal and wish I had just gone for the unlimited soup and salad bar. At least I know what the end result will be. Do I recommend BD's? Hells to the no. If you want a make your own stir-fry experience, hit up Flattop Grill or Stir Crazy. In my book, that's where you find true stir-fry.

Not a big deal here. The food is good indeed but not mind-blowing and quite overrated. I ate here twice and failed to be highly impressed, mainly because they charge too much for what you actually get. One bowl cannot fill up a large eater like me (and I am no fatty), but I eat good, and I was disappointed when they asked for more money for another bowl. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good as a matter of fact. The reason for three stars is because they charge too damn much-and the quality is not good enough to match the price, but hey that's what you get when you dine out corporate. Mongolian BBQ is a chain and acts like a chain, can't expect more, get ready to spend when it's not worth it! At least the food is quite good, just not good enough for those prices.

Always great service and so much bang for your buck!!!! Literally anyone can find something they love here and the cheerful staff make the experience that much better. Don't forget to try the mango madness cocktail ... It's awesome and only 5 bucks!!! We'll be back real soon.

Awful. Just plain Awful. The purpose of going out to eat is so someone else does all the work for you, preparing your food, getting you napkins and forks, etc. At one point I thought that they were going to make me wash my own bowl when I was done eating! If you have never been to this place I would say stay away. The floors were very dirty. The salad bowls at the salad bar were dirty. Our table was sticky. Just an all around bad experience. I'm not a cook, I don't know how much of what to put in my 'bowl'. I know that I will never be going back to this place. 0 STARS.

We haven't been here in a few years. I am eating gluten free, so I knew this would be the place to get a meal without the grains. I love that the salad bar is included with the dinner bar. Really is a good price for all the food you get. For $2.00 more, you can get a second helping at the main food bar. The staff is really friendly - our server was Chelsea - she was a sweetheart. They were quite busy as we came at the Saturday night rush, but everyone (staff and customers) were in good spirits. My gluten free steak bowl and salad was quite tasty. My daughter fell asleep after taking a few bites of her meal so Chelsea brought us a To Go container. My only suggestion for this place is the floor looked really dirty (grossly dirty) under the counter at station 1 where you wait for your food to be grilled. Also the floor in the hallway going into the staff kitchen area near station 1 (very gross). There looked to be dried gum in the floor and it looked like it had been there a long long time. Please do a better job on the floor in that area! On a positive note, there was staff constantly checking the salad and meat/veggie bar to ensure stuff was stocked and in order.

decent place. a bit overprice for the amount of food you can get unless you upgrade....over all good.

Came here for lunch with coworkers during a day we had an extra long lunch time. I didn't know it was a make your own stir fry place! We came in a large group so the waitress took our drink order and also gave us rice and tortillas (weird?) with our food. Reminded me of a cheaper flat top grill. I was nervous at first because I have no idea how to make my own stir fry...what if it tastes gross? I ended up just grabbing tons of veggies, noodles, curry , sauce, and herbs. In the end my food was delicious (the best part is watching them cook your stir fry)...and not only that but this place was really inexpensive...I was very surprised with the price.

This is a good place to eat. A good date spot because you have plenty of opportunity to interact. Variety is good. Kids love it because they feel they are cooking their own food.

This place is disgusting. Food was old, think Old Country Buffet. The grill is so nasty, my finished bowl had things I never put in it because they mixed everyone's food together. Complete disregard for diet restrictions. They had a fundraiser going on where they allow random, zero experience people to make a mockery of the food you're about to eat by cooking it on the grill. I complained to both the manager and waitress in a desperate measure to get out of the bill and leave that place. Manager made a joke of my complaint. Never go here. If you want a classy and worth your money experience, go to Flat Top.

I've been here a couple times in the past as well, but when I went yesterday with a friend, we were slightly more disappointed than usual. It's been a couple years, but I did notice a few things that were different, and not in a good way: 1. I was very upset to notice that this place no longer has the option of using chop sticks. I don't know if it's just me, but I think it's just wrong to eat stir fry with anything other than chop sticks. 2. As a vegetarian, I was surprised to discover that they longer had a discounted vegetarian bowl, it had become one price for everyone. Personally I think that if I'm not eating the meat, I shouldn't have to pay the same price since the meat is what would make it so expensive in the first place. And to make it worse, the price for a regular bowl had largely increased from $9.99 the last time to $13.99 now. 3. The overall energy of the place had strongly diminished. Normally, it's a loud and fun place to eat at, but yesterday (and maybe it's just because we went on a Tuesday) was practically dead. Even the cooks were boring instead of their normal entertaining selves. 4. My drink came with a wonderful brown smudge of some old food on the inside of the glass. This is embarrassing of course for any restaurant, but it certainly just made the previous disappointments more apparent. That being said, the food itself was pretty good. Although, it's kind of hard to mess up a create-your-own stir fry and give it straight to someone to cook. I had a bowl with noodles, tofu, meatless chicken (a happy surprise to see this new vegetarian option), brown rice, broccoli, baby corn, and carrots, topped with teriyaki sauce, peanuts, and sesame seeds. For dessert, my friend and I shared a chocolate Bistro cake for $2.75, which was essentially chocolate mousse with a chocolate cream and chocolate chips on top. I'd recommend the restaurant, but maybe a different location.

Was a little scared when I walked in the door. I have a lot of stomach problems so I get nervous eating new places. Have to say very impressed with options and attention to food allergies. A little bit of a wait at the stir fry window but so worth it. Drink menu needs a little work. But they have great healthy options like steamed brown rice & lettuce to wrap your stir fry in. These options are upon request. This is a great healthy Asian place. & no stomach ache that night or the next day. I'll be back for sure.

WOW! and WOW! is all i have to say about this place. I'm in love with this place and i've been back 3 times already in last 6 months. It's rare for me to go back so often but the choices for my bowls here are amazing. I highly recommend joining the Club Mongo - you'll get your food for lot less.

Pretty good food, lots of flexibility and great service. Is it a destination restaurant? No, but if you are at the Promenade and want something a bit healthier, give it a try. I met a friend here today and they let us talk and talk plus recommended a better way for my friend to use her coupon and save even more money. I would go again!

I'm not the biggest fan of buffet or food line restaurants, however, I've been here twice & the food has always tasted well. The last time I dined here, we tried an appetizer. Best crab ragoons I've ever tasted!!!

This restaurant is the same as Flat Top Grill or Stir Crazy. For a set price you create your own stir fry. While they have more options and cheaper prices, I do not think the quality is as high as Flat Top or Stir Crazy. I would probably not return.

Horrible. Don't understand who they are trying to cater to. Service was a little slow. If you have a purse or coat with you be prepared to take it with you to the grill or leave it unprotected at the table. My wife and I had to go separately so one of us could stay at table with our stuff. Each of our trips to get food and back to table was over 10 min. They charge more for a smaller bowl than all other similar places I've been to. The way the cooks all rotated around the grill and cooked our food was disturbing. Won't be back

Back when this place first opened (2006?) it was... really good. But I went back a couple weeks ago to relive the past and let's just say it wasn't the walk down memory lane I'd expected. A few things had changed since I'd been gone. The last time I ate here, I probably wasn't able to drink, so I tried a strawberry peach sangria or something like that, it came in a tall glass and was very tasty, no complaint there. There were some new sauces, most of which tasted pretty good, but for some reason, the food wasn't all that. I will admit that some of that could've been my fault. Since I've been away, I've been going to Flat Top quite often, and I'm convinced they're way better than this place. Anyway, I guess I'd forgotten how they work because I ended getting my veggies first and assuming my meat came in a separate dish, but nope! All I ended up having room for were some little shrimp I was able to stack on top of my vegetables. Then, I after I resolved the first dilemma, I picked my sauce and seasoned my food. Ok, but when I got it, it just didn't seem very flavorful. Nor did the meat or sauce sections look very clean or put together. I was sure to wipe my hands on the wet naps provided by the chefs. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience, but did I leave happier than I would if I had gone to Flat Top or Stir Crazy, no. Therefore, I probably won't be back, at least not any time soon.

When this location gets some adult supervision, I might be back. Last night we went there and were seated immediately. After ten minutes of being ignored by the wait staff, we walked out. Interestingly enough, the greeter who seated us, wished us a good evening -- in between her chit chat with at least four servers. I walked my 6'4" into her space and reminded her that she had seated us ten minutes before and no one bothered to serve us. We were leaving. Unfortunately, whoever owns this franchise doesn't bother to keep an eye on the staff on their busy nights.

I love this place! The hubby, who is the ultimate picky eater, loves this place. But this place is kind of perfect for picky eaters. You choose what you eat and if it doesn't turn out good then go back up and try again. You can order prepared food from the menu, but I have never done that so I don't have anything to tell you there. The real appeal is the stir-fry. After you're seated your waiter/waitress will take your drink order and ask if you would rice or tortillas to go with your meal. We always opt out of both because there is so much food in the stir-fry. Then you go up and choose your food. You grab a bowl and start with a few kinds of noodles. Then on to meat or fish which you can mix and match (they suggest not mixing fish with anything like beef or chicken, only mix with other fish). Then you choose from a large variety of veggies. Lastly sauces and spices. You choose your sauce (if you know what you're doing you can mix here too) and put it in a little cup. Then there are some seasonings you can add as well. Then you take your concoction up to the grill where they have a few kind of hot sauces you can either before or after your food is cooked. Somewhere along the way you can also pick up raw eggs which they will mix up with food. It will help your food stick together and make eating with chopsticks a bit easier if that's your thing. I'm clumsy with chopsticks and I find that egg takes some of the spice away that I always try so hard to achieve. At the round grill you give your food to some very entertaining grillers that somehow keep track of who belongs to what even though you and the food are usually constantly moving. If you tip, they will hit the gong. They do have a small, less entertaining side grill for those of you with allergies. Anyone with allergies should use this because with the regular grill it is very possible to pick up a stray piece from your neighbor's meal. Once you're done cooking, return to your seat and enjoy one hell of a good meal. If you're up for it, you can do it all again once you're finished. Another note for someone on a diet and specifically Weight Watchers, this is a great place to come. A very filling meal for next to no points. And I did get the point value from the WW dining out book so it was specific to this restaurant.

I have to say I do like the one in Naperville better, but sometimes it is just way to crowded. They just are not as attentive or personable at the Bolingbrook location. Our waitress forgot to bring out the rice and tortilla's. The grill guys don't pay much attention to you, and I don't add the egg because they always wind up letting it burn into the grill. They just seem more on top of it in Naperville..... Anyhow, that does not stop me from going there. The food is awesome. I love the lamb and shrimp. The ingredients are always nice and fresh. One day I will have to try a salad, I always stuff my bowl full, and then I am done.

This place is kind of like a lower-class Stir Crazy. Here's my two cents: stick to Stir Crazy. As someone else pointed out, the meat and seafood are sitting out in the open. The serving utensils for the meat and seafood were sticky - and I do mean really sticky. Oh, and did I mention that the place was swarming with kids who were picking out their own meats? Yeah, there's not enough hand sanitizer in the world. This place seems to be pretty darn popular, and I must be missing something because I just don't get it. It's like going to Subway when there's a Jersey Mike's a block away. Oh, and my husband was sicker than a dog after eating there. Never again.

I was so confused by this place. It feels like they were a stirfry place but maybe that wasn't working out so they kept adding stuff on...Like burgers, nachos, quesadillas, wings, salad bar, etc. It's like going to a fusion of fusion restaurants with all of them being kinda half-assed. The stir fry part was entertaining. The guys cooking up the stirfry are loud, a little wacky and probably high, but it adds to the ambiance as they bang the loud gong for every first time comforter. They also have a magician that does card tricks for the kids. A little creepy but the kids seemed interested and not crying, so great for everyone else in the restaurant. The food itself isn't awesome. The salad bar sucks. Not much to it especially for the added $6. The stirfry offers a ton of choices. They give you a bowl to put your meat (no sauce or it'll burn), then you add all the ingredients at the bar. They should really make suggestions or give you ideas since I think the options are almost too much. I saw a lot of really terrible looking and tasting dishes made, then subsequently going to waste. But it is interesting that you can do Asian-influenced with rotini noodles or marinara with rice noodles. But in reality, perhaps some things were just really not meant to be. They have a new appetizers menu which basically was a bar-food kind of menu--- wings, quesadillas, potstickers, nachos, etc. We had the chicken wings which were decent in the BBQ and ginger flavors. They were served kinda cold after our waitress kept telling us they weren't ready yet when I could see them sitting under the heat lights in the kitchen window. No one at our table partook in the burger bar so can't really comment on that. The food isn't awesome here, but this gets an A-OK since the variety makes it pretty easy for most people to be happy-ish with something on the menu, especially with large groups. It's great if you want Mexican, Asian and burgers all at the same time. PLUS: only 2 dollars for kids under 11 to eat on Tuesday and Wednesday. Great for families with little kids.

Clueless wait staff. I'm familiar with this style of restaurant, like Flat Top Grill, and I still felt lost after our waiter tried explaining to us how it works. My family that was visiting from out of town that had never eaten there before was even more confused. Oh and the waiter never asked if we wanted our rice, tortillas, etc that you get with your bowls. We had to ask the grillers preparing our food and they told us that our waiter should have asked us. When you have a non-traditional restaurant style you should really make some sort of effort to explain the process to customers that say they are new. Very frustrating and annoying visit.

Well my wife, oldest son, his girlfriend and I all went out for a nice weekday lunch. We were celebrating her Independence Day birthday. Finally had a day when we could all get together. Our family likes this style of restaurant, select your meats, veggies and sauces and have everything stir fried up together. We usually like Flat Top or Stir Crazy more but there is nothing wrong with Mongolian. Well with 4 one bowl buffets, a shrimp fried rice and four drinks our total bill came to roughly $58 dollars. The selections are varied, meats, fish, etc. Also with quite a variety of veggies and sauces you have to be able to find something you like. The place is clean and the service is friendly. The pricing maybe a bit high but we usually leave feeling full in that sort of healthy way. If you haven't stop over at Mongolian Grill BD at the Promenade in Bolingbrook give it a try. You should at least once and as I said you have to be able to find something you like stir fried up with the vast variety of choices on the buffet line.

This whole chain of restaurants is extremely overrated. Sure the food is good, but are you really getting what you pay for? At dinnertime you pay 15$ for a little bowl of stir fry and a tiny bowl of rice. If you wanted any more food you have to pay another 2$ to fill up your bowl again and have teenage boys cook it for you. When we came in last night we opted to sit in the bar area so we wouldn't have to wait, but even the bar tables were reserved, which was weird. So we sat at the actual bar and probably received the best service we ever have here. Normally at the tables you have to flag down a server for anything, especially if you aren't having the stir fry. Servers really neglect you here. I am not a big stir fry person but they just bring you your bowls without asking what you want. It is super annoying. Bartenders are trapped behind the bar so they are right there when you need something. Perfect! There is a full bar here and they do have some specials. Friday night had 3$ pints of domestics and a couple alcohols as well. Not too bad. I just had the spicy fried shrimp appetizer. It was fantastic and served in a margarita glass, which was fun. It is also served though with chopsticks sticking straight out of it, and from what I understand is a bit of a snafu. I will probably be back, but this place is super blah.

First time having Mongolian BBQ in Chitown and I was not disappointed. The hour and a half wait on a Saturday night, so I was told, is typical. I can see why. It's like Korean BBQ minus the Banchan. Instead of grilling it yourself you go up buffet style, pick out your meats, veggies, spices, etc and they grill it up for you. They have taken traditional Mongolian BBQ a step further at BD's and added some rather gluttonous desserts (cheesecake as big as your head...no lie) which further cements the US's reputation as the most jiggly nation on Earth. However, methinks Genghis Khan would have been pleased with the mile high sundae... Recommend you get here after 9 if you want to avoid the crowds. Can't go wrong with the prices ($11-$14 a plate sans drinks) and the fruity drinks are potent if not diabetic coma-inducingly sweet.

I have visited their other locations in Grand Rapids Mi. & Naperville. Always a good meal and fun dining experience. You make your stir fry by adding the ingredients. If you follow the recommended recipie cards, the food turns out great. The place is just great and the value is exceptional. the location is great as well. You can take in a movie nextdoor or walk around the promenade. It is busier on the weekends and less busy during the week. Great stuff!

My mouth savors at the thought of this place. I know there are many others like it, but I love them all the same. Very great selection of vegetables, meats, sauces...pretty much everything. A great place to come to with a great group of friends if you're looking for an amazing feast. Really have no complaints. Fantastic service with a smile is always a plus. Prices are great, I think. Well, I suppose if you eat enough. It's worth it though, regardless. Mongolian BBQ is amazing! So EPIC.

I love BD's! We always go as a double date with another couple who are also big fans. If you don't like it, you only have yourself to blame because you make up your dish! The best part of our last visit was what they called a cervezarita- a frozen margarita with a Dos Equis beer bottle placed upside down. The service always leaves something to be desired, which makes me sad. The food is always great!

First time here..never heard of the place. Basic stir-fry concept (think Big Bowl or Stir Crazy or Flat Top) but right off the bat I was HORRIFIED. THE RAW MEAT IS SITTING OUT IN THE BUFFET TABLE ALSO!!! Seriously, I was assured there is ice from below but it made me dig to the bottom to get the most refrigerated meats. The food was good--I liked that you could include an egg in your stir-fry unlike the other chains. The waiter was attentive and explained everything for us. Fine enough food but because I've never seen this chain before it's not like I'm going to seek it out.

I always love BD's Mongolian. I've visited both Naperville's and Bolingbrook's locations many times. Last visit to Bolingbrook was horrible. This will be our last time at this location. The waitress told us that "corporate" took over that location and now the waitress needs to provide us with our plates. So for our second trip up, we had to ask the waitress to give us a clean plate. Not a big deal, but took 10 minutes to come back with our plates. Also, when we asked for refills, it took over 10 minutes to come back. In the meantime, the manager would walk through the dining area, glance at our empty glasses and not do anything about it. After our 1 1/2 hour meal (due to our slow waitress), we visited the bathroom which looked like a bomb went off in there. Tissues and toilet paper all over the floor, no soap in the dispensers and water everywhere. The bathroom was disgusting!!! We told the manager who had a "OH WELL" attitude. Take the extra 10 minute drive and go to the Naperville's location.

My mom wanted to go here because she said she went somewhere similar when she was on vacation & that it was really good. Well.... -___- i didnt like it. It was not all that and felt like I was at a buffett which I hate. Server was very blah. Food was very average. Would not come back again. I shouldve listened to the reviews on here but i said ah what the heck. Theres better places to eat at the Promenade.

I love this restaurant. The food is great (of course, you mix and match your choices yourself), and I love that they have an allergy zone where they cook your food separate (my daughter has a severe peanut allergy). The only thing that turns me off is the group of teenage boys doing the cooking. They are so loud and annoying. On this particular night they were making lists of movies and they were so distracted they grabbed the person's sauce next to me and put it on my food. I tried to stop him but it was too late, I was already juggling my kids plates and trying to hold hands, so I had to walk back and make my stir fry again!! By then there was a crowd, so my table was all eating and I had to wait in line for a mistake I did not make!!! I did get an apology, but I was pissed!!

I'm a sucker for a Mongolian BBQ joint. And BD is no exception. However, I have a minor gripe to get out of the way. I have been to a couple locations in the BD chain and they have been the same setup where you pull together your ingredients and drop it off at the grill. However, BD is the only make-your-own-stir-fry type place that forces you to stand at the grill while they make your food. I think this is pointless. I'd much rather go back to the table and enjoy conversation with my friends/family. On this particular visit, I was standing trying to balance four bowls - an ingredient and sauce bowl each for me and my son. My hands got shaky and it was just a waste of my time. When it comes to ingredients, BD has it down. They had ALL my favorites and I was thrilled with the final product! I also enjoy the option of brown or white rice and I'm a sucker for a tortilla any day of the week. Our waitress wasn't very memorable but in a place like that, its to be expected. She really was only responsible for replenishing rice, drinks and tortillas. I don't remember a shortage so in theory she must have done a good job.

Love build-your-own stir fry! I come here for lunch sometimes because it's not far from work and I'm always pleased with the freshness of the food and the service. I love that they have lots of veggies to choose from and they switch up some of the foods sometimes so there's always something new to try. Make sure you join their Mongo club and you'll get a free birthday meal - totally redeemed mine yesterday! I prefer this location over the one in Naperville because Naperville is just too crowded plus it's super loud in there. This BD's seems bigger. Plus they have $1 light beers if you're into the liquid lunch thing...

my family drug me here on a saturday afternoon for lunch. interesting place, different......kids love it, kind of fun to build your won sitr fry. but. the bowls are tiny, and the kids that work the steel plate (grill) are a cross between obnoxious / embarassing and entertaining. although, you can get additional bowls for like 2 bucks each. and you don't have to stand there and watch them cook your food. it's also kind of a lot of work to basically to feed yourself.....and then they try to make you feel obligated to tip both the waiter and the kids at the grill. also, the hygiene of the buffet was a concern. bunch of tongs, raw meat, kids diggin in it...etc. overall, a good place to take kids for something interactive and noisy.

First off, I love the concept, execution and result of a Mongolian grill. I've never disliked the food I've eaten at any Mongolian grill, so let that skew my review. (1) Pick any meat or veggies you want (well, that they offer - I don't think you can BYOM&V) (2) Throw 'em in a bowl with a sauce of your choosing (3) Someone else cooks it for you A big problem here, as many reviewers note, is that all the ingredients are just sitting out in the open all the time. I'm sure they are all refreshed fairly regularly, and this place kept everything on top of ice. I felt perfectly fine afterwards, but I'd bet some people have had incidents... The other problem is choice. YOU make your meal and YOU can be a real moron, admit it. I stuck with onions, mushrooms, sprouts, green peppers, shrimp and beef, with a savory shiitake mushroom sauce. Delicious. My lady-friend chose chicken and veggies but went a little wonky on the sauce. All Asian ingredients with a sauce super-heavy on Cilantro. Good in theory, but tasted funny. The main complaint I had was that, unlike most Mongolian places I've been to that hand you bowl with some depth, they handed us your typical smallish cafeteria cereal bowl (for $11?!). I agree America needs to teach itself portion control, but I won't be leading the charge when I take myself out to dinner. It was such an obvious flaw that the waitress had a pre-prepared speech with tips on how people start with veggies and pile the sticky meat on top, because they can get more that way. Bless you, Cindy - it worked like a charm. Aside from the do-it-youself, this place also offers appetizers: Pot stickers, egg rolls, fried shrimp and, uh, quesadillas. Hmph. I only had the pot stickers and shrimp. The stickers had a good pork flavor, but a little too tough on the outside. The shrimp was actually pretty awesome. Thick, fried outside, but with so much sauce that it was soft, not crunchy. Awesome. Unfortunately, this stuff is pricier. $5 plates are fine, but $2 per small egg roll is dumb. So, food-wise, I'm talking a 4-5 star, if you know what you're doing and know what you like. The star off came from the absurdly-contrived family-friendly Disney atmosphere of the place. I know it's part of a shopping center, but Jesus - just make the place nice and train the staff to clean it and smile. I don't need cutesy names on the menu, or signs around the place to tell me to "GO MONGO!!!" It was very amusement park, very Vegas. Do not make the mistake that you've experienced Venice by staying at the Venetian. Also, the place was damn LOUD. The high-ceiling and materials were flawed to echo every sound around and, since the cooking is done in the dining area it's a bad place to get to know someone. The service here was good though. Good enough. The HR model seemed to be to hire cute, young suburban girls for waitresses and hat-backwards frat boys for grillers/cooks. This is a very strict policy. I heard some gems ("Dude, this was totally my jam, back in the day" - from a 19-yr old, referring to "Sister Christian"). Whatever, everyone was very nice and helpful and the grillers were lively. The bad taste in my mouth came later when I found out why. Along with our check (which I had to pay -1 star) came a fancy electronic survey tablet, with some proudly advertised instant WiFi connection. Because we shouldn't settle for Bluetooth in our survey tablets. Out of some 10 questions, 3-4 jumped out at me: Q) Were you greeted in a warm and friendly manner? A) Yes, the hostess smiled, took our party number, then immediately walked away to bus a table. Another hostess creepily appeared in like 4 seconds and used the exact same phrasing as the first, useless girl. Q) Did you see the manager interacting with the patrons? A) NO! And I demand to see the manager because of i-.... oh, wait, Self-fulfilling Prophecy. Actually, "Megan" came up to the table and insisted that we know she was the manager, right when I was about to bite into a pot sticker, which was really f**king annoying. Go away. Genghis hungry. Q) Were your grillers lively and entertaining? A) Gagh! Really? Can't I pay $6 for a bowl of food instead of $11 and forgo the "entertainment? Yes, they sang along to "Hot Blooded" while I watched them cook, and they insisted that EVERY child who walked by had to bang the gong (LOUD). It was, I admit, simple fun, but soured when I realized there was a gun to their heads. Long review short: If you run by one of these, you'll probably enjoy the food, but with an ample helping of corporate fun-factory. Don't look behind the curtain - that's where the suit sits collating survey tablets and cleaning his Glock.

Overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth, literally. I frequently enjoy Flat Top Grill and Big Bowl in Chicago, when my friend and I found ourselves in the suburbs we thought we would give this a try. Unfortunately both of us agreed, we won't be going back. Similar concept to Flat Top and Big Bowl but the quality of the food was very poor and as one earlier reviewer described it as a "circus", I have to agree. We overheard another customer complaining that her mahi mahi was "slimy". Our food lacked any real taste even though we both selected one of the supposedly spicy sauces. I gave two stars instead of three as the service was very friendly and at the end of the meal they do bring you an electronic device to complete a survey, so perhaps the restaurant is doing what it can to improve.

My fiance and I met our friend here who had also never been to this type of restaurant, and all of us had a great experience. The mango margaritas were fantastic. The waiter was nice and explained the basics pretty well. They had a nice selection of meats, vegetables and sauces. The cooking station was a little confusing at first since the person in charge of directing customers to step forward was slacking. The salad bar was decent, but they didn't have a large enough selection of dressings. They didn't have ceasar and I'm pretty sure a few of the dressings were mislabeled. They only had 1 soup and it was not labeled.

I am a picky eater -- mainly, I do not like many types of foods. Yet, I found a good variety of foods that I liked and filled my bowl to overflowing. Watching the food being cooked is fun, although I noticed that sometimes a piece of food from a neighboring customer may get mixed into your own meal. If that piece of food is something that you do not like, that could make you meal inedible. Fortunately that did not happen to my wondurful and very tasty meal. The salad bar was just okay, nothing great, but satisfying. Service was pretty good; the waitress attentive and friendly. The restaurant is a bit noisy, but fun. The gong rang a few times - once for someones birthday. Overall, a fun place, decent food, and a place to come back to.

Okay place. I think they were new? The selection seemed light but sparse.

I love the bajeezus out of this restaurant. I love the entire chain, and I'm not normally a fan of chain restaurants. You get to pick from a wide variety of meats (including lamb and squid) for your dish. I'm automatically a fan of any place with squid. The quality of your dish is very defendant on your ability to pick ingredients that taste good together. (I've had a few missteps. Peanut sauce with ginger- what was I thinking?!) The drinks are good too. I'm a huge fan of the Mongolian Sunrise. On Friday and Saturday nights this place is packed. You have to wait in a long line to get your food cooked, which sucks a lot if you want to go back to the grill more than once. It's better to go for lunch (cheaper too) or on a week night.

It is hard to complain about food at this restaurant when you choose it yourself, all the employees do is fry it on a flat iron. The choices for your meal are fresh, healthy, and pleanty, which is great. The salad bar was also very fresh and had many choices. The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept up. The wait staff was quick and friendly.

My husband and I walked in looking for something to eat before going to the movies. We did not know what to expect. The server was friendly and told us how to use each stations. There's the protein, veggie, and sauce/spice station. I was a little overwhelmed so the cards with ingredients suggestions was very helpful. I loved that I could pick what I was in the mood for. I got shrimp and chicken then loaded up veggies then my sauce and some spices. The table side choice of white or brown rice as well as tortillas was the right finishing touch. The food was really good and it should be I picked it. This is a great concept. Getting fresh protein, choosing what veggies, condiments, and making it as spicy as I want it. I will be back for sure.

This was the first time I'd tried B.D.'s and it was very good. I've gone to Stir Crazy in the past, but I found this one a little more casual, although it was busy the day we were there(Sunday afternoon). Both my husband and I created our "lunch" and it prolly took about 10-15 minutes for us to this. Everything I chose was fresh and there was chopped garlic/ginger on the day I was there. Our waitstaff was good, attentive. We had a desert(and I can't remember what I had but it was very good) and were stuffed when we left. The downside? It is casual/family, there are kids and there were a lot of parents there on the day we went that thought it was very cute to let their children run around and scream. I really had to control myself because the evil me wanted to trip the brat that kept running around our table!!!

Recently, I wrote a review about Flat Top Grill. This place has the same concept as that restaurant and I hate it. I think this place has better choices for sauces though (so it makes it easier for me to make something that actually tastes good). My food was over cooked or something because the meat I got had a rubbery texture. It was weird. The service is alright. Not the greatest. I understand that the customers have to create their own dishes but whats the harm in stopping by to check up on drink orders and stuff? The last time I went there was my first time going there, along with a few other friends so we didn't really understand how to actually eat here. We sat at the table for maybe 20 minutes waiting for a waiter to come explain what the hell we were supposed to do. The host was awesome though. The waiter never even came back to check up on us afterwards. The place itself is nice. The booths looked comfy. :] I probably won't be coming back here for a loooooong time. Maybe when I become a better cook..? D-.

I cried when they closed the restaurant in Wrigleyville, but jumped for joy when one opened up five minutes from my house. This is the beginning of what I hope is a passionate love affair between bd and I. All-you-can eat build your own stir-fry has a special place in my heart. And I wish I had enough coordination to handle the big knife-like things the guys use to stir fry your food on this humongous round grill while you wait. If I were to try it, someone would be losing a body part. They also have a small salad bar, and offer appetizers, but me, I just go for the stir-fry (about $10). Since this is a brand new location, they were really, really overstaffed. And our waiter seemed to be afraid of me, and I don't know why. Every time he came by to see if we needed anything, and I said no, he would reply back "Well I was just checking, it's all right if you don't need anything." and then run off, casting frightened looks at me over his shoulder.

I wanted to dance when I heard they were building a Mongolian BBQ in the mall right next to my apartments. I liked the one in naperville but can't stand the yuppie downtown area. And it was always packed. I always seem to max out on all the seafood. And I like making a little fajita plate for the tortillas they bring out. (had to ask the bimbo waitress twice for the rice/tortillas) Its a good deal if you do the unlimited plates. The teen boy grill guys are kind of obnoxious. And my boyfriend almost had a hissy fit cuz one kept staring at my chest. But it's nice because it's not that crowded and I can pick my own stuff, get it cooked, and sit down fairly quickly.

Okay, so someone is going to have to explain to me these restaurants where you have to do all the work and then pay extra for it. This place is right up there with "Fuddruckers", where you have to put all the toppings on your own burger and then pay 8 bucks for it!? What exactly am I paying extra for, for some High School kid to supervise me? So I walk in this place and it's a 3-ring circus. The lobby area where you are supposed to wait for your table is about the size of a Mazda Miata. After waiting about 30 minutes, (which I'm told is pretty good for this place) they take us to our table in the middle of the room so close, you can rub elbows with the table next to you...or eat off their plate. The noise in this place is equivalent to a rave on the tarmac at Midway airport. So as I'm yelling to my date, we get the menu and see that for the low, low price of $14 you can get one bowl of stir fry and one trip to the salad bar. Okay, these must be some big portions, right? So imagine my surprise when I grab the bowl for the entree and it's roughly the same size as a cereal bowl...but what the hell its almost bikini season. I will say that there are more choices than you could imagine, which made it all the more frustrating when trying to cram them all into one little bowl. They even have "taste spoons" for all the sauces, what an idea! Until I saw some filthy animal use the same spoon to try 3 different sauces, are you kidding? I opted for one that he didn't sample and tried to pretend that no one else would do that, for the love of God has no one ever heard of double dipping? I was looking around for the hidden camera and someone to tell me I got "Punked". Desperately trying to repress my memory, I bring my bowl up to the giant ring of stir fry. And there I see 5 dudes that look like they should be working the tilt-a-whirl at a county fair, complete with neck tattoos and a daily visit from their parole officer. I'm staring in amazement as two of these guys are talking about how wasted they were last night, while they point out the "Milfs" walking by. Here's the best part, they have a tip jar! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not cheap and I'm a bartender so I understand the importance of tips. But what the hell am I tipping for, when I go to restaurant and order food I don't see anyone going into the kitchen and tipping the chef and he's doing all the work! So after I put all the ingredients in a bowl myself and hand it to some dude who was on "Cops" last week, to throw on a grill and hand back to me, I am expected to tip him and further support his crystal meth habit? I can't complain about the food, it was pretty good. But I would bring your appetite and get the "all you can eat" option, its a better deal. I don't see myself going back here, but it gets 2 stars for not screwing up the stir fry.

I am usually very good at mixing and matching ingredients to make a pretty good dish. That is why I like this place. I also like all you can eat which is why I also liked this place. This place is solid and when I am in the area I will stop in again to eat my fill. The place was packed and they did a good job of keeping the ingredients full. It was a little messy but nothing that would deter me from coming back. The selection of ingredients is not as large as some similar places. Everything tasted really good though. The service was nothing to brag about. Our waitress was very flighty but she kept up adequately with us. She did give me a bit of crap when I disputed the bill, but she finally gave in in when I proved that she was wrong. This is a decent place if you are in the area. I would go on a day that is a little slower during the week maybe

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
