Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

My wife and I went there last night with a couple friends for dinner. I have always liked Olive Garden in the past so I thought this would be a good idea. We were disappointed in the food quality. Loved the salad as I always have, but my baked ziti was WAY over baked and very dry. The bread sticks were ok but Fazoli's are better. The service was however, very good. Our server Mary was excellent. It's a shame the kitchen can't mirror the service the waitress gave. I can see now why they are struggling to stay relevant.

Fell for the TV ad for 'lasagna fresca' and I was thoroughly disappointed. Half an inch thick, virtually no sauce or veggies, just layers of pasta so tough I needed a knife. New to Yelp. Any way to do zero stars?

I have enjoyed all the dishes all the time. My all time favorite are, Salad, chicken Marsala, Calamaris.. and bread stick. :)

first impression was set low due to the couple of female host, who looked pissy and didn't look up once to actually be a nice host. we were seated very quickly, but then had to sit and wait just for our drink order for around 30 minutes. the waiter was extremely friendly and tried to keep the experience positive even though service was sow due to how busy it was. Wouldnt reccomend going in the evening and one more thing, i dont know why but it is like 50 degrees in there. so cold, almost ruined my dinner.

Came here late on Mother's Day because we were gone all day picking our son up from college. First came in but seemed as if no one wanted to serve us (as we heard servers in the back debating whom would/should serve us)! Note to servers: Don't talk so loud! Anyhow, a young came to serve us by the name of Conner! He is purely the reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars! He was cordial, courteous, as well as personable! I ask him heat my soup more because I like my soup very hot. He quickly said he would do so but said in a microwave which sort of turned me off but when he returned he made sure to inform me that the chef sauteed the soup instead! Thanks so much for that kind gesture Conner and Chef! All the while Conner was giving such good service we could constantly hear the other servers complain of their day. Please, just be quite, servers! Conner was so nice that since we did not like the spicy calamari and the kitchen was closed...he offered a free dessert to replace the calamari. Wife ordered the "White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake"...and it was deliciously filled with a chocolate-raspberry taste, thru and thru, along with a scrumptious crust! Afterwards, Conner offered to give a bag of bread sticks along with our take home leftovers! Thanks Conner and blessings with your school work in Physical Education!

Hey folks, it's a chain. After the bread sticks, and the salad, the food is mostly mundane. But it's clean, friendly, and as I stated, for chain food it's A-OK.

Alright, yes I am aware that this is an Olive Garden. However, this Olive Garden is something special. They are always packed (probably due to the lack of good restaurants in BN). I feel like this helps them, the food is always fresh and delicious, BETTER than most Olive Gardens I have been too. If you are looking for a good decently priced Italian-ish food this is your spot. I know I will be back.

The food is fine but this is quite possibly the slowest place u have ever been. The endless soup and salad may as well be a single serving because there is no way I would wait long enough for seconds there. We have been there for nearly two hours for lunch several times and they weren't even super busy. I keep hoping they will get it figured out or just had new servers or something but it is like that every single time.

Enjoy the large portions, endless salad and bread sticks. Food could use more seasonings to give it more flavor. A little on the bland side. Best time to go is when they first open and BEFORE 6pm.

I came here on business. The wait staff was rude. I got the all you can eat salad and bread sticks two mins before my meal came. In mid bite of salad the waitress asked if I was done with my salad and was removing my salad plate. My drink came at the end of my meal. I used to love the tour of Italy but it was small and tasteless. I ordered dessert to go because I just can't wait to get out of here. If you have a choice, I'd go almost anywhere else.

I can make most of their dishes for half the price and my dishes are much better. There dishes are basic and uninspired. I wont be going back.

My girlfriend and I were celebrating a new job opportunity and looked to olive garden to provide a decent place to eat.....was I wrong! The first issue I ran into was the Hostess, all 6 of them standing around making extremely obscene and rude comments towards coworkers. It took around 15 min to be seated, typical of a thursday night no biggie there. Our server was the worst, No refills on drinks, breadsticks, or salad. We spoke to us 3 times the whole meal. We saw him probably 5 or 6 times during the evening but didn't pay attention to us. The food was terrible, I had the Pescatore dish, it was terrible no flavor just a lot of heat. We sat at the table for 25 min waiting to get the check, neither I nor my girlfriend could wait to get out of there. I would have gotten better service at McD's......that's saying something. This place ruined my evening, if you want Italian go anywhere else but here

This place is very popular. I was slightly hopeful - who was I kidding. Second visit of this CHAIN in 10-15 years. The menu looked good. Certainly the *impression* of fresh, tasty ingredients mixed with top-notch noodles. I ordered *something* but the noodles were pasted together and the sauce was canned. I was really let down - but I knew I would be. You will get a HUGE helping of -stuff- guarenteed.

Chicken scampi is always perfect. Best food of its kind!

Good was delicious. Server was wonderful. Great experience.

Decent food at decent prices. Had the AYCE soup, salad and breadstick lunch. Had the chicken gnocchi soup which was pretty good and then had a couple of bowls of the pasta fagioli which was good. Last time that I had the SS&B a few years ago, I remember some of the soup being very salty. They've either cut down on the salt or I just had different soups. Server tried hard but seemed a little new because he originally forgot to bring the salad.

Ever had a reluctant review? You know, when you'd like to rate something worse because you know its not THAT great, but you keep going back time and again like an addict so it can't be that bad? That's Olive Garden. I will refrain from completely ripping on their advertising campaign and the way they continually butcher the pronunciation of italian words and phrases... let's focus on this building in #blono. The staff is YOUNG.... like high school young. Which isn't a bad thing, but you will deal with an element of awkwardness from the staff from time to time. Give a little grace, we all have to learn how to talk to people at some time, right? Food is as you would expect it. Fattening, yummylicious creaminess with more food than a human being would eat. So plan to take some home. You'll never make it to dessert. Unless that's all you order. Ooh that's an idea. Breadsticks and dessert. I think I have a new menu idea. Best deal is lunch soup salad and breadsticks. All unlimited and you can sub the standard salad for a caesar (apparently I'm in the minority with this one). The Chicken Gnocchi soup would be the right choice. Just saying. The house wine blows, but after a long day at work, when the young chick pours me the sample, I can't turn it down. Good marketing ploy. Ya got me. Ok so here it is... they do NOT take reservations! You guys are on crack. The wait is atrocious! And you have no seating despite the overabundance of old people you serve. Get with the program and cater to the customer. But i do like the bar area. No one knows you can just sit there without waiting. Darn it... secret revealed.

The manager here is nice. The service is okay, save for #3 below. I feel sorry for them for working for this wreck of a company serving counterfeit Italian. So somehow I got drug here for a group/family thing. I had something of an antipathy to Olive Garden going in, and this visit didn't change anything. I'll save you all the "American is going down the tubes and the success of this place is exhibit 382" rant. My general complaints - independent of the fact that the whole concept is grossly Americanized - all fully applicable to my visit at this location, go as follows: 1) The last three times I've eaten pasta at the Olive Garden, the vegetables are simply not cut right. There's no other way to describe it. There will be bits of of green pepper that are cubed, and then other bits that are in long strands. Onions and mushrooms will be finely chopped and others will be left wholly intact. The kitchen staff here just comes off as careless in its preparation. 2) The bread and salad, independent of the fact that they are not representative of Italian cooking, are just not good. Overbuttered/salted and overdressed. 3) The wait staff seems inexperienced to a fault. And I do NOT want your grated pseudo-cheese on my potato soup, overcheesed fettucine, or dish that simply does not call for cheese, so do not like at me like I am from Mars. 4) From an architectural standpoint, having your only bathrooms behind the area where like 30 people are waiting for tables is a pain in the butt, and it's that way at every Olive Garden I've been to. 5) Olive Garden uses every method in the book to hide the fact that they buy and use low-quality products.

First of all, the concept of writing a review for a single unit of a chain reservation strikes me as somewhat ridiculous. That said, people in town here seem to regard this place as a "fancy restaurant" and that it is totally the bee's knees. Now I'll chalk a lot of that up to a lack of experiencing "real" restaurants because the Chain Restaurant is King in B-N...but I just thought I'd be a voice of reason here. I must say that Jenna M has some misleading info in her review. Olive Garden does NOT take reservations. The best you can do is call ahead and get your name on the wait list so that your wait will be minimized when you get there. I used to work at Olive Garden, so I can speak to the quality of the food better than most. Now don't get me wrong, the food tastes pretty good, but it's not that fresh. The pasta you ordered was probably cooked at 8 AM that morning and has been sitting in water since then. Most of the sauces are not handmade, they come in as premade deliveries. Olive Garden would be a lot better in my eyes if they were honest about what they are. If you go in there now, they have all this crap about the "Culinary Institute of Tuscany"...that isn't a real cooking school, it's some schlock that they created to trick people into thinking that they are eating authentic Italian cooking. And the commercials with the 90 year old Italian guy talking about how his family always goes to Olive Garden to enjoy family and the food of his homeland? Please! The so-called "ambiance" is no good, either. That isn't really Olive Garden's fault, though. It's the simple fact that a lot of families come in there, and kids tend to be loud and disruptive. Combine that with the white trash yokels who are constantly demanding more breadsticks and coke, and I can think of dozens of places, even in this relatively small town, where the ambiance would be better for a date or something of that nature. That said, most females LOVE Olive Garden, so I am sure I will be returning in the future whilst on dates. All in all, it could be worse: They could be trying to get me to watch the Sex in the City movie.

Olive Garden isn't any more Italian than Taco Bell is Mexican, but I don't think they're fooling anyone. With that said, I'm addicted to their alfredo sauce and bread sticks.

Jerod was great.

Don't understand what the draw is to this place either, food is all soaked in butter which gives it the good taste (but makes me sick every time!). Gimmicky Italian food, go to Caffe Italia or Benningos for authentic and well priced Italian.
(2)Kristi R.
I'm not sure I could say it any better than Ryan. However, I don't think that "everyone" thinks it's a great place to eat. Many of us consider it almost as schlock as Avanti's without the cheap prices. Over the years, their portions have gotten smaller, their prices higher, and the service has gone way downhill. Back in the late 90s my hubby worked there and it wasn't a bad place for a date. 11 years later and I cringe when someone wants to go there. Give me Beningo's or Biaggi's any day. I will admit, though, that I love their zuppa toscana. ;)
