Maguire's is my absolute favorite bar in Bloomington. They run drink specials almost everyday and the food is great. Maguire's has a lunch special every day and runs the following drink specials: $2.50 domestic aluminum pint bottles; Tuesday $1.50 domestic bottles; Wednesday $2.75 22oz. domestic droughts; Thursday $2.00 22oz. domestic droughts; Friday $2.50 Corona / Corona Lt. bottles; Saturday 10.50 for a bucket of 5 domestic bottles. There is no drink special on Sunday. For lunch there is a special every day...from pizza on Mondays to Shepard's Pie (my favorite) on Thursdays. They are all great! They have chili and a different soup every day. Lunch service is from 11:00 to 2:30 with dinner service starting around 5:00. There are lots of TVs usually showing sports, a couple arcade type games; dart boards, a pool table, and Buzztime Trivia. There are a great group of regulars here and it won't take you long to be considered one either! I can't say enough good about Maguires; however, the guys bathroom is a little different, they have only a half wall for the stall and one of the old style cloth towel rolls. Hope to see you there soon!

Who markets a bar as a place to watch sports and then plays music over Sunday night football! Pathetic!!!!!!! The service isn't bad, but slow as bartenders are more interested in their social scene over getting drinks for their wait staff.

Maguire's is somewhat on the dark and dingy side for my taste- but this seems to be the typical Midwest interpretation of an Irish Pub with Sports Bar aspirations. We tried the $1 burger special and found it OK, just this side of "good". The best part of the sandwich was that there was no up charge for onion, tomato, pickle and lettuce unlike some places that I have been to. The extra cost cheese was nothing to write home about but not horrible either. We shared an order of fries and felt that they were good if somewhat bland. I seldom dunk my fries in ketchup but these fries were crying out for some tomatoey help. Maguire's has lots of TV's, darts and Golden Tee to keep any and all patrons entertained. Street parking can be a bit of a challenge but there is a public parking ramp a short 2 blocks away.

Yesssssss... Great service at the bar. Are you kidding me, pizza for $5 and a tall draft for $2.75 ! Music jammin and happy people. Thanks a bunch Maguire's crew...

An excellent place for a casual evening with a group of friends. Lots of TVs, and a solid selection of drink choices makes this one of the better, less populated spots in town.

Not a regular? Not a townie? Does this really matter when it comes to customer service? Don't tell me my satisfaction matters less to you because I'm not from Bloomington or because I do not frequent the establishment! Guess what... I'll never be back and when people ask your place will be the last place I recommend. You claimed to be the owner... You claimed by me playing I love Rock n Roll by Joan Jett that it chased patrons out of your establishment and you skipped that song and one or two more of mine because you and your friends didn't want to hear them. Don't run a public jukebox if you don't want to hear what the public wants to hear... I don't like rap and had to listen to 10 rap songs in a row to finally hear my song only to have it skipped. Honestly it wasn't a matter of the songs being skipped it was how you devalued me as a customer. Every customer makes a business... Every customer is valuable!

Maguires is a big ole room with a long bar, lots of room for standing around and tv's to watch, trivia, darts, pool. Wide open, just the right layout and atmosphere for a rockin good time - I'm sure. Early Tuesday evening has a few regulars. Nothing too creative on tap, or in the bottle for that matter - but I whole-heartedly welcome $1.50 bottles of domestic. Menu has typical bar fare - nothing over $10. I had the "mild" wings and dang! they were hot! A great place to hang out for a few beers and fun.

I like Maguire's, especially since it expanded back around 2006. They have 22 ounce draft beer (usually $2.75) and some good specials from time to time. They've added some projection screens and large flat screens, so it'd be an okay place to watch a game. The bathroom here is shameful. There are two urinals and one toilet with no door and only half a wall. Also, the door opens so that you see right in. Call me a prude but I don't expect to see people peeing out of my peripheral vision every few minutes. There are typically 1-2 waitresses working the room and that's not really enough but they work hard, so it's not too bad. I've tried some of the food here but not enough to judge it. Lastly, they have live music here from time to time and that's always good.

This is my favorite bar in Bloomington, hands down. Great service, ALWAYS. Tremendous beer prices. AND TRIVIA. You stole my heart. My fiance and I love the trivia and it's way better here than BWW's for sure. There are tvs everywhere for the avid sports fan. The Cheers crowd midday are super nice and really welcoming and they play trivia too :) The food is great. I can't say a bad thing about Maguire's. Love it. Recommend it. :)

I ate at Maguire's for the first time this weekend. I had the turkey burger. The goods- the coleslaw is AWESOME. really good. The pickle was good. It's not super expensive. The bads- the burger was overdone :( The service was POKEY, It's RC products....just yuck.

I had heard that Maguire's had great chicken wings and burgers . . . unfortunately, I ordered the steak sandwich. I order steak sandwiches a couple of times a year and this was probably the worst one that I've ever had. The steak was so tough and chewy that I had to actually pull chewed up food out of my mouth several times because I couldn't chew it enough to swallow it! The only reason that I'm giving them 2 stars is that my girlfriend enjoyed her meal (sorry this was a few weeks ago and I don't rememeber what she had). Luckily, we've been dating for a long time so she could handle me pulling chewed up food out of my mouth!! :-)

I enjoyed my time there, but that had little to do with the bar itself and more to do with the people I was there with. The place had a great look and feel to it and had plenty of "regulars" at the bar that you know spend every night there, but the selection of liquor was terribly disappointing and the beer menu was even worse. They served nothing but Busch products, so when I went to get my usual Miller, I was let down. Maquires also makes the claim of being an "Irish Pub," which I thought was a little unsettling. The only Irish drink they had on tap was Guinness and the only other Irish (or English, for that matter) beer was Harp, while the only Irish Whisky was Jameson. The menu didn't reflect the "Irish Pub" mentality and neither did the look and feel. A few Guinness posters and shamrocks an Irish Pub does not make. Another issue that I had was the price. I wasn't ordering top shelf drinks all night, I was drinking tap Bud Light plus a couple mixed drinks, and I couldn't have had more than 4 or 5 beers, but at the end of the night my tab was $50. It just didn't make sense, I was apparently paying far more for my beer than anyone really should or they overcharged. I don't know for sure about that, but what I do know is that I will not be going back.

My husband and I were in for lunch today travelling from Pekin. The draw was Buzztime Trivia. A gal, who didn't give her name, was our bartender/server. Drink specials were pretty good, Buzztime was great, service? blah The menu listed wings and my husband asked about what was medium. Her response was "wild" and he ordered that. Unfortunately he did not like the "wild" thinking it was TOO hot. She never did ask how things were so we didn't tell her. We are writing this instead. Had to ask for sugar packets for my tea after asking once. She spent most of her time at the end of the bar talking&catering to the regulars. My food was just ok - a toasted tuna sandwich on cold toast. The soup was a cheeseburger chowder, interesting, and just ok. Maybe service was less than stellar because we were in about 2 and lunch was almost over. I don't know but do not think we'll return.McQuires Bar&Grill in Bloomington IL

I have visited Maguire's many times in the last couple years and I keep coming back. I go there to eat their Mushroom and Swiss Burger, Spicy Onion Peels, and Fried Mushrooms and also to enjoy the nice selection of beers on tap that are always cheap given the oversized mugs. It also has buzztime trivia, pool, and huge tv screens all over the place with every sporting event imaginable on. Monday night football equals $1 hamburger night!!! Weekends equal bands and crowds but not till later. Kids are allowed until 9p or 10p due to food but I rarely see any. Lunch is also served fast and I've been there as early as 11am. Cheers!

Best Place Ever.....Great Food and Great People

Went here because they have Buzztime Trivia, darts and billiards. Big, open floor plan here with lots more stools than tables. Bartenders were friendly and beers were standard. Saturday must have a late crowd since there were only 20 people when we left at 10:30. The music was playing much too loud given the minimal patron noise. Bathrooms had the old-school, continuous roll cloth towel contraptions. I didn't have any food so I cannot comment on it.
