Best breakfast joint around. The belly buster is the bomb. sausage gravy is the best around. Lunch is great also. My family goes once a week. Everything is good here. Love the staff, very friendly and attentive.

This was my first trip and I had breakfast and saw no reason why they did not deserve 5 stars. Service was fast and friendly and food arrived quicky. Being a biscuits and gravy critic I tried the #3 combo which was 2 eggs hash browns and a half order of biscuits and gravy. The gravy was excellent and biscuits fresh. Hash browns were top notch nicely browned with the middle nice and fluffy. Price was under 8 bucks with coffee. I have heard lunch is good too so will be back but will be hard not to get the biscuits and gravy.

Good meal at reasonable prices. All-you-can-eat walleye dinner was awesome fresh and hot and tasty served with fries.

Took family for breakfast, what a bad decision. I paid almost $10 for their "belly buster " which turned out to be comical. About a normal serving of hashbrowns and eggs. Bacon was terrible. Out of the five of us, my wife's was the only decent one which was an omelette. They wouldn't accept a credit card or check and said I had to pay cash and I could use the atm. I never write reviews on here but felt I should bc it was a total ripoff and people should know. Shame on that sorry bunch

Down home diner kind of food delivered here. I love the weekday $3.99 breakfast special. 2 eggs, choice of meat, toast and and awesome homemade hashbrowns. Eggs were cooked right and added onions to the hashbrowns too. Tried their chicken fried steak and it was okay, but was more like a pork tenderloin instead. Good sausage gravy on top.

Went in not expecting much and my expectations were met. The atmosphere is pertty no frills. All the tables have mismatched coffee mugs sitting at the tables. Like the mugs the chairs don't all match. The staff was friendly and let us choose our own seat. Breakfast and lunch menus were given. Specials are up on a whiteboard near the door. I had the fried chicken lunch special. Was given a choice of light or dark meat and told it came with a drink. The chicken came out pretty quickly (a little too quickly in my opinion) but was still warm. Came with mashed potatoes and a white gravy, some green beans and two pieces of white bread. The white bread was awful. It was probably just a slice of wonder bread and came with a tub of fake butter. The gravy for the potatoes was ok, not a lot of flavor, but not bad. The potatoes were kind of chunky (which I liked) and tasted a lot better with the addition of some pepper. The green beans tasted canned and were over cooked. The chicken was just okay. The skin had some flavor, not a lot, but some. The meat was somewhat dry and almost completely lacking in flavor. The iced tea was delicious. Based on the decor, the service and the atmosphere I expected the prices to be cheaper than they were. $8 for the chicken special is somewhat expensive given the quality. I may return for breakfast one day, but this likely will not be a go to lunch destination.

Really, good, solid diner food at good prices. Best pork tenderloin sandwich around no contest. They have RC products. The iced tea is on the weak side so they could improve this easily.

Hi, I've eaten here a lot. Here's what you can count on: Whatever you order it will be prepared well, presented well and be exactly what the menu said. Also, if there is something you don't like, tell them and they will fix the problem. The owner is there virtually every day and she cares. I've taken real food snobs here who were pleased with the quality of ingredients and the fairness in pricing. Best ham and eggs in town, period. Also, if its 9 AM and you've been up since 4 AM and ask nicely, you can get a burger (best in town) and a fresh salad. The owner is also very proud of her tenderloin sandwiches and with good reason. I've dined at some of the finest restaurants on the planet and Aleta Janes, taken for exactly what it is, is splendid. Lastly, nice people work here and they've always kept my wife's coffee cup filled.

Cute small town atmoshpere, no frills, basic breakfast choices which personally I love. Small parking lot with more space in back, cash only but they do have an ATM :-) Coffee is decent with half and half on the table. Really enjoyed the pancakes! Homemade and flavorful with real maple syrup! Eggs were good and so were the hashbrowns. Husband said the biscuits & gravy were ok but try are better at GOP. Overall a good breakfast option on the south end of town if you're not high maintnance and the basics make you smile. Oh great service! Our waitress was all smiles and attentive :-)

This is what is considered in my mind to be a Dinner! If you are looking for some comfort, old school, dinner food with friendly servers, then Aleta Jane is the place. They have locals that visit all the time which are greeted by name when they enter. The atmosphere is laid back and simple. Much like a family owned Dinner seems to be. I was there for breakfast and ordered one of the omelettes which are made all with 3 eggs. I was allowed to tweak it to my choice. Toast and fries or hash brown accompanies the dish. The food came out fast, warm and tasty. I recommend this place for all who would like to feel the old school Dinners atmosphere.

I used to eat here a lot with my mom on her lunch breaks from work. The interior is dated and unappealing, but that didn't deter me. I'm not a fan, in any sense. I won't eat here, even if someone else wants to. I haven't had any dishes that were better than I could make on my own. The service has always been friendly, so that helps. I have never had anything from here that was better than homemade.

This is a small business whose most endearing quality is that it is so bush-league. But isn't that what you're looking for in a diner? You want to feel like you're getting away from the test market approved color scheme, the visored and polo'd team that has obviously been instructed to smile and offer you meal suggestions that are new to the menu. If you're heading to a diner you're looking for some no-bull service (not that fake abusive service like at Ed Debevic's) - someone who will give you what you ask for - nothing more, nothing less. You're looking for C-grade service because if you weren't, it'd your fault for coming here. Sure the coffee mugs don't match but why would they? We're talking about function not aesthetics here people. IF this description scares you, head next door to the best Thai restaurant in town. But if this sounds like a place you could handle, order up some scrambled eggs and hash browns and enjoy.

We try to find places like Aleta Jane's wherever we go (as opposed to Denny's, Bob Evan's, Starbucks, etc.) and we just happened to be in Bloomington to take our favorite college student to breakfast. And it was a decent A-OK breakfast. I like mismatched mugs and chairs and a ladies room that last saw new tile in 1979. The men had the chicken-fried something with gobs of white stuff on top. Two suggestions: cook the flour a tad more so it doesn't taste so raw and add pepper, pepper and more pepper. Can't add it later. You have to cook it with pepper. Eggs requested as over medium, NO jiggles - but still a little jiggly for my taste. Potatoes, I think they were called country potatoes, were great, as was the half-order of biscuit and gravy. Friendly people. Will remember it for our next visit.
