Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

When I think of Pizza Platter, broasted chicken is what comes to mind and is what I usually order. Their broasted chicken is as good as any place in the area and it's pretty inexpensive. Their pizza is not terrible, but there are better places like Anthony's and Al's in the area to order pizza from. Like their broasted chicken, it is also inexpensive. Pizza Platter also has a good delivery service.

I order from this place way too much, they even have a nickname for me (no, it's not fatty lol). They have great beef sandwiches, good fries, delicious mozzarella sticks (not half frozen like some places) with good serving portions. Their stuffed pizzas are pretty good too. Their delivery is fast, definitely a good choice if you want to veg at home and have greasy deliciousness delivered.

First off, let me say I've never had their pizza. This review is for the catering only. My family orders their Eggplant Parmesan and Lasagna for dinner. The Eggplant Parm. is so GOOD!!!! We all love it. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The Lasagna is alright. It's a good deal and great for feeding a large family.

This is a good place to grab something good at a good price. Only draw back I had so far is that I ordered a bacon pizza twice from this place and twice had different versions of bacon. The first time was the norm I usually get from places like Pizza Hut (which I am used too). The second time was basically strips of bacon cut up and put on top of the pizza. It would have been good too if the bacon was cut finer. I love the double cheeseburger and fries value meal. It is great 'mom and pop' establishment.

Generally I don't like slamming a place after a single visit, but I will not be returning to Pizza Platter unless forced to do so at gunpoint. It's been several months since my encouter at "the platter" but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If I could, I'd give the food 2.5 stars and then the service a negative 2.5. The pizza (cheese & sausage) was edible but forgettable. The rib tips were very greasy, chewed like gum, and the sauce is your average grocery store BBQ sauce. I know the difference between "pizza joint" ribs & "slow-n-low smoked" ribs - the above comments are based on pizza joint rib qualities. Now, it isn't the fact that the food was just caloric that has turned me off to the Pizza Platter. It was the snotty and somewhat belligerent young woman behind the counter. First she couldn't be bothered to come to the register to take my order. When she did, there was no "hello" "what would you like" nor a "thank you" - it was just "Yeah?". Then when she gave me incorrect change she copped an attitude like it was my fault. At this point I should have simply cancelled my order & walked out, but I figured I should give the food a shot. I ran a nearby errand & returned in about 35 minutes. I waited less than ten minutes, got my food & went home. While I was there the young woman didn't even acknowledge me, a guy from the kitchen brought my order to me. He was nice, said hello and asked if I needed extra napkins etc etc and then said "Thank You". Meanwhile "the employee of the year" leaned on the end of the counter sipping a soda ignoring the world around her. If the food was more than just filling I'd give it another shot. Then again - why would I do that? Benny's is like a block away & I've never been treated rudely there and this area has dozens of other pizza joints.

Disclaimer: This review is for delivery only. I definitely have had better 'za than here, but when it's 12:45 am and have been drinking Wild Turkey and Coke all night in my friend's basement and this place will still deliver, it's all good! The pizza was just standard thin crust, nothing exceptional, except for the fact that it was delivered hot and fast to the door in under the estimated 30 minutes. The onion rings were 3 star worthy though. They were nicely breaded and the onion didn't fall out of it when I bit into it. I just hate that. Plus, the driver had change for a $50 and he gave us a free liter of RC. So, this might not be a place that I would want to frequent regularly, but when it comes to late night munchies, it's ok in my book.

Ordered the special on Monday, rib tips, 14" pizza, and broasted chicken. It was ok, not great - pizza was doughy, rib tips just ok, the chicken was the best, it was pretty good. I would probably order the chicken again. Service was fast and friendly. They have a large pizza special - $10.

I've been a regular customer since at least 1995. In the past they have been very consistent with not much change which is good. Recently this place has been going down hill. I just don't know what's going on with management. Not what it used to be. The slices keep going up in price. From about $1 to 1.75 or so. The price has almost doubled in recent times. I'd rather just go down the street to Anthony's and get a big fat slice and a cold soda for $3 even.

  • Paul N.

Not crazy about the pizza, but they have the best rib tips I have had anywhere for a very reasonable price.MUST TRY RIB TPS!!!

  • Alixx C.

Yeah I'll pass. This place is not good at all. Just my opinion. I've had so many different things such as beef and pizza and the food is just bland. There are other places to go to. I suggest just about any other.

  • Michael R.

Cheap and good! $10 for a 1 topping large pizza (double cheese for me) plus a liter or soda!? YOU CAN NOT BEAT THE QUALITY AND PRICE!

  • Joe B.

Ok this place needs more credit! I have ordered from here about 4 times and the pizza is pretty good. The delivery is very fast and I like how they make a pizza that is not greasy and also looks good. I always think of ordering from somewhere else but if I want consistency I always come back here for some good pizza.

  • Amber B.

if you want cheap & greasy then this is were you might want to go but if you want good food thats worth the money than please go somewhere else. Their foods so greasy it makes me nauseous! It tastes like everything comes out the freezer and thrown in the fryer, it really seems like they don't care about the quality of the food they serve. If you have a choice go somewhere else Please. #Keepin-it-real
