I've been highly impressed each and every time I've been to ToM. The ambiance is so much nicer than most places in Belleville but the real star of the show is the food. The first time I dined here, I had the Beef Marco. Delicious isn't even enough of a word! The beef was so tender, you truly could forgo the knife. I haven't had steak that toothsome and delicious anywhere. That same evening we had the wings and bruschetta apps, and they're absolutely delectable. The wings have a traditional buffalo-style sauce, but where so many have such a sour base, these bring a touch more heat. They're fabulous. The last two times I ate at ToM, I ordered the BBQ Shrimp app as my meal. You receive 6 BBQ shrimp (not BBQ sauce) in a savory, garlicky broth and served over goat cheese grits. Are you drooling yet?! If not, you should be. They serve this with toast points for sopping up that deliciousness, and it makes a perfect meal for both lunch and dinner. The service has always been good but on my boyfriend and my last visit for lunch last week, the waitress was exceptionally good. She was kind, friendly, and super personable. It definitely wasn't a forced fake kind of nice. While I should probably venture to more of the menu, I'm so stuck on these few incredible dishes. You won't get food like this anywhere else in Belleville. Keep doing what you do!

Always great food and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone. We are a family of 5 and our kids love going there for the pizza. we have never had anything we didn't like from tavern.

Excellent atmosphere, great food, great staff, excellent drinks (and selection), with a hard working owner make the experience very pleasurable. I do a lot of catering with these guys (shenanigans, Marco's on main, Marcos Express), and they always get it right for a reasonable price. Will always return!

We went there 2 weeks ago on a Saturday night with family. No wait for a party of 8 in the back room, wow! To start, the servers are sweet and friendly. The bread is amazing, it is different every time, what a fun surprise. The pretzel twist rolls were delicious, can't even describe their perfection! We shared the pizza, lasagna, and side salad. All were perfectly prepared, large portions for the money, and delectable. Dessert was yummy but nothing to yelp about. I live on The Hill in stl and I have to say this place is a worthy rival if you aren't across the river. This place is my new go-to when visiting friends in Belleville. See a movie at the Lincoln and save your money for Tavern on Main.

Had a mess of appetizers for dinner and I would still recommend the wings, shrimp and grits, and crab cakes...I do not, however , recommend the clams.. very small clams with undercooked Tasso ham. The broth was the best part, just get some extra rolls for sopping it up...bar service was good.

A great choice when looking to eat in downtown Belleville. All of the food was great. We sat inside due to the heat, and look forward to returning on an evening where the weather will be more pleasant to try the outdoor seating. Our server Krystal was fantastic! She really went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable.

had the lunch buffet...so strange. Food was in the hallway, selections were a little lite. I suppose it was just ok. May have to go back to see what dinner is like, because lunch kind of missed the mark.

Try the spinach flat bread and the sweet Italian salad. If the weather nice eat outside. Service is wicked fast and professional. Portion sizes are too large but that is the tradition around here. Don't miss this place

Love this place. Great buffet, burgers and appetizers. Very good service at well. My favorite is the mushroom app. Excellent

Excellent. The sweet Italian salad was actually very subtly sweet... Paired with excellent blackened chicken made for a lovely evening on the patio. Prices are also pretty good by gastropub standards. Worth a look.

The food is far better than I anticipated! It gets quite crowded, but everyone I've chatted with seemed like decent folks. I'd recommend getting a drink and shrimp & grits app on the sidewalk patio.

This time was the worst experiencet so far.We are regulars here and most of the time the food is decent.yesterday went there for dinner with 3 others. We had to wait more than 40 mins to get our salad and soup which was weird that it wasn't even busy and when the soup finally came it was in a cup which i ordered bowl.sigh...didn't wanna wait anymore so i just took the cup size.and the servers kept kicking on the kitchen door for the whole time we were there so of course it was very noisy and at the end it was just annoying.ordered seafood pasta with the 3 bad clams out of 5.scallops were over cooked and the noodle was over coocked also.maaaaaan.....

I've been here a couple of times now and am overall disappointed. It's a nice brewpub atmosphere and it's located in a neat older part of Belleville, but the food and especially the service were lackluster, especially this last visit. Our server said initial hellos and took drink orders, and then literally disappeared for 25 minutes. Not cool. Once we were able to place our orders and finally get our food, the experience was underwhelming. The pizza my friends ordered was not cooked well in the middle and very soggy. My caesar side salad was extremely mushy. We ordered quesadillas as an appetizer and they were very soggy and super greasy as well. The salmon plate was fairly tasty, but by the time I got it, I was pretty miffed at the terrible service. It will be a while before I try this place again.

I met a friend for dinner and drinks last night. First off, we had Erica as our server and she was on top of it..... She made great suggestions for our dinner and told us about the better deal of buying a bottle of wine versus by the glass. She would appear when we needed her and disappear when she was not needed. I ordered a chicken capaella, it had cheese and bacon. I wish I could give a better description but it was so dark that I had a hard time seeing my plate to cut it up. I got the rice, which was steamed to perfection. You could also get a potato. I had the house salad, it had bacon need I say anymore.... My girlfriend ordered the salmon with the baked potato, she was as pleased with her choice also. This is a great date place, and dinner place.

I appreciate this joint's effort to invest in and help revitalize the main drag in my home town, but I'm always disappointed in the terrible service and food that can best be described as "just okay." I met my family here while passing through town. The waitress disappeared for a solid thirty minutes, which she blamed on being assigned tables both outside, and in the rear of the restaurant where we were seated. That in and of itself makes zero sense. My father's pasta dish (pasta...boil the noodles, throw on some sauce and call it a day), came out after the rest of our party had nearly finished our meals. The waitress did not apologize and actually copped an attitude with my mom when she asked about the delay. And we still paid for the pasta - wasn't worth revisiting the fiasco by the time the bill came. Watching traffic in and out of the kitchen was totally unappetizing. Lots of facial hair cooking up your food. Get it together, folks. Belleville is a great town and locals are clearly enthusiastic about this place. Train your staff.

Better selection of drinks than most of the Belleville area. I love the upscaledness of this pub. Belleville definitely needs this. They have amazing little mushroom strips. I was the only one to eat them (mushroom hating friends), but I didn't mind. They were really good and had horseradish sauce to go with them. Perfect little combo. Tequila lime shrimp is pretty good. Creamy lime sauce really hits the spot. I've heard the lobster BLT was the best pizza there. I can't wait to try it. Really interesting menu which I love. If I was single this would definitely be one of my hang outs.

Wonderful service, atmosphere, and decor, but the food is just okay. I came here with 2 girlfriends on a Thursday evening and the waitress was awesome and very accommodating. There were 2 groups celebrating birthdays with champagne and it is indeed a nice place to celebrate! I loved how flexible they were and willing to split the pasta in half, salad in half, and the bill in half without any hassle. It's rare to find a restaurant who makes splitting easier and I was grateful they didn't charge extra for us to split the pasta entree. The restaurant is in downtown Belleville near the fountain, a great location. I split the Linguini ala marco pasta with my friend because the waitress said it was a big enough portion for the two of us. Our house salad arrived first---and it was my favorite part of the meal! It had romaine and iceburg lettuce with provolone, bacon, and sweet house dressing. I don't usually rave about salads but this salad made me want to eat more salad. The linguini ala marco arrived with yummy toasted garlic bread. The shrimp was cooked just right and very scrumptious, but it was about the only flavorful thing in the pasta...the sauce was lacking in flavor despite having chunky garlic (which I love) and I found myself adding salt and pepper a couple of times. I would've loved a bit more cheese too. I did enjoy the mushroom and shrimp, just not so much the pasta sauce itself. My other friend ordered the Capellini bolagnese pasta and seemed to enjoy it as well. She had enough leftovers to bring it home in a box---they have big portions!

Huh. Not a bad place at all. A couple of my girlfriends and I were to meet up for lunch, and we were limited in where we could go as some of us had to get back to work within the hour. So it had to be in downtown Belleville, and Mexican was out of the question. So someone suggested Tavern on Main, followed with the words, "lunch buffet", which pretty much sealed the deal right there. I'm so glad spring has arrived in the Midwest as we got to sit outside, and it was a gorgeous day. And the place was packed. I like how if you didn't get to grab a table outside, the establishment leaves its doors and windows open so it's kind of a free-flowing airy setup. It is pretty dark indoors though. Lunch buffet is $9 and consists of soups, salads, pastas, pizza, and desserts. I love how there is also salt, pepper, and parmesan shakers on the edge of the buffet that you can take back to your table. The soups were okay (I tried the corn chowder and the tomato bisque)...they were nothing to write home about, but the pizza really hit the spot. They are thin crust, and they put out a medley of offerings from veggie to sausage to cheese to pepperoni. I also really really liked the bowtie pasta salad; it was delicious. The toasted ravioli was a bit hard, but the sauces, especially the meat one, were fantastic. The salads were fresh, and dessert included cookies and brownies. We went on Friday, and as it is Lent season, they had fish tenders, which were pretty good. I think they may have chicken wings or something else when it's not Lent. They also have lunch specials, and Fridays just happen to be lobster ravioli, which I can't wait to come back and try. I only knew about that because I was perusing the website before heading out; the waitstaff didn't bother letting us know about that. Otherwise, the waitstaff was pretty efficient in picking up our empty plates and so-so on the refilling of drinks. My friends got their sweet teas refilled pretty regularly, but my water stayed low for quite awhile. I'm going to have to come back for dinner too...the menu looks delicious...and they do have a pretty good selection of drinks. Finally we have something in downtown Belleville that's just as good as Wine Tap! For the full menu, go to tavernonmainbelleville.c… .

I agree with the review that states a great place for drinks with friends. The food has been disappointing for more times than not. I don't understand how one time you go and the salad is good (never great). The next several times it is just plain bad. No consistency. I feel they are just too busy to produce quality. They have a great place with awesome atmosphere but we are just getting tired of being disappointed in the food. The service also is hit and miss. Again, if just going for drinks would highly recommend. Just wish the food was consistent.

I went here at 1:30 pm with my WONDERFUL extended family and got a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. The buffalo was not too spicy, but had a perfect flavor with some better than expected fries. I had a bite(or 2) of my brother's cuban sandwich, and it was decent. All in all, it's pub food. Good but not great.

I want to personally thank owner Mark Onstott for allowing me to grow as the Executive Chef at Tavern on Main. I have appreciated all of our customers and am sad to be leaving your establishment. From opening day until this past Saturday, I have learned a lot. Good luck my friend and I wish you nothing but success.

It's a good place for drinks and a conversation after work. Decent craft beer selection in bottles but only eight taps. Eight draft lines isn't terrible but from what I gather, other than the seasonal line, they never change. I wish they had more local beer sections and rotated four of their lines. Service and staff have always been good!!!

I'm a big fan of the lobster pizza. I've had some questionable service here from time to time though so I can't give five stars. Definitely a place worth trying if you're on Main Street in Belleville.

Been here several times, great meeting spot for drinks, and a good pizza. But, the steaks I have had here have been pretty fair at best. Applebees might have a better steak. (Yuck). Oh, and stay clear of the scallops. They obviously have no clue how to prepare them! Twice, they were mushy, with ZERO sear on them. Inside is beautiful, but, there are better options for food locally...

The seafood catch-of-the-day here is absolutely amazing and priced very fairly. I would easily pay $5 more for it, but please don't raise the price! :) The chefs here are true professionals and artists as is obvious by the taste and presentation of every dish. Then there's the servers... Wow, what a fun and attractive bunch! They are all so genuine, so personable, and so willing to get to know you on a first-name basis, yet impeccably professional. If you're tired of driving over to St. Louis just to get away from Generica restaurants, this place is for you.

Favorite place in the B.L.V. Decor strikes chords of pub, sports bar, meeting-place, and casual restaurant all at the same time, depending on where you want to sit. Can't recommend the Caprese Pizza any higher other than " you'll regret not getting it". In addition, the menu is varied enough to satisfy every need from bar food all the way to nice dinner. Been coming here weekly since they opened. Can't get enough of the most re-vitalizing venue on Main St.

My wife and I had a double date the other night and really wanted try tavern. Well it was a good choice. The wait staff was great. Always made sure we had drinks and everything we needed. The menus where just printed off from the computer and stapled together but to me that was the only thing bad about the place. There were to many things that sounded great on the menu which is a good thing I think. It is a bit pricey but for the food it's not that bad. My wife and I go over to St. Louis all the time for a place like this. It was great not to have to this time. We will be going back for sure.

Great atmosphere!! That was the best part of my meal, but that is worth a fair amount when it comes to a restaurant. The food was decent, but not special by any means. I had the bourbon chicken. The chicken was cooked well, so at least there's that. But the bourbon sauce was way too acidic. Also, it didn't seem like the chicken was marinated, but just cooked with sauce on it. Perhaps if it was actually marinated it didn't sit nearly long enough to absorb anything. And lastly, the chicken was a measly five cubes on a skewer. For $13, a couple cubes of chicken, an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes and an iceberg lettuce salad just didn't seem like quite a good deal. But I did not hate my time there. The food was edible, I still ate it all. It just wasn't anything to write home about. Given the atmosphere, I'd go back for that. They had a live band on the patio which was nice. And it wasn't obnoxiously loud either

This was my first experience with a "limited" opening. The first three times I tried eating here, I failed. For a long while, they only had an operational bar with no food. Apparently, this is what's called a limited opening. I guess it's easier to gradually introduce to facets of a restaurant rather than make sure everything is ready to go for a grand opening. Meh. I'm going to go ahead and assume this sort of thing would only go down in Bellevegas. The night I FINALLY got to try their food, I was quite disappointed. My salad was not all I had hoped for. With dark greens, goat cheese and nuts, you really can't go wrong -- but I'm fairly certain they left the flavor sitting on the counter in the back. It was totally flat. Nothing popped. Even the dressing was ho hum. Since trying their food, I have only gone back for a drink or two. Their let down of my favorite kind of salad still saddens me and I cannot bring myself to try anything else save a beer or two. This is what happens when you get your hopes up for fine dining in Belleville.

The downtown area of Belleville is experiencing somewhat of a rennaissance of eating and drinking spots. Tavern on Main is one of the newer ones. The interior is very nice. Lots of color combined with the old bricks and timbers give it a great ambience. The menu is fairly extensive. I had a prime rib sandwich which was very tasty and of high quality. The service was very good. If I had a problem with this place, it was flies. I spoke with some friends who had been previously. They said they did not have this problem. On the day I was there, though, there were flies everywhere. I cannot, at this time, give Tavern a four star rating because of the flies. I plan to go back in the near future at which time I will update as necessary.

Stopped in after a visitation...found it via Yelp. Service was prompt & extremely friendly. Sunday night vibe was low key with the tunes & the various games on w/ volume down...which was a nice change from most places. The portabella app was awesome followed by BLT pizza! The waitperson recommended the BLT & she was right. Loved all of it only wish this place was on the STL side of the river.

Came on a weekday lunch with the wife. She had the mushroom Swiss burger and I had the lunch buffet. The waitress offered to replace the pizza on the buffet with a sandwich if I did not like the pizza. The burger was great with large mushrooms. Large portions as well. The buffet was cold salads, including pasta salads, toasted ravioli, several soups, and pizza. I am bit of a soup expert and I quite enjoyed all 4 soups that I tried. The rib eye soup was good but it was fatty. You expect that from rib eye. The bisque was the best. It is a casual place that I would not hesitate to being a business lunch. Have not experienced the night crowd but I may do so soon.

I ordered the Lobster BLT pizza to go; it was good, nothing great. It was really oily, not sure if it was the aioli (seasoned mayonnaise--which was way too much) or if they added something else that was oily. I usually get the Alsatian from The Wine Tap (too die for!!) but I thought I would switch it up. The service was great, I ordered it before I left my house and it was ready and waiting for me when I got there.

We had planned to go to the Wine Tap which we knew we both loved, but my friend and I kept hearing about the Tavern so we decided to give it a shot. So glad we did!! Calamari for an appetizer. She had the "infamous" Lobster BLT pizza we had been hearing about. I had surf and turf. Everything was cooked to perfection. It was delicious!!! I had originally wanted to try the chocolate cake but by the time we were done with dinner, I was stuffed. Atmosphere was great. Staff was fantastic and we thought the prices were reasonable. Not cheap but definitely not pricey either. Just right - like everything else. Love it.

Greatest restaurant this side of the river by far. The food isn't just great it is fabulous. The service is better than any other place. The atmosphere is awesome. The bar has an ice rail to keep your drink cold to the last drop. My friends and I say it's the only place in town where the last drink is colder than the first drink. One dining room is dark and quiet for an intimate experience where the other is full of TVs. You can watch your favorite game and enjoy the best meal of your life or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink with five TVs of their own.

I live in Belleville and try so hard to do things locally, but then whenever I do I have such a horrible experience like I did here which is why I prefer to eat in St. Louis. The ambiance was nice eating outside and there was no wait despite it being Saturday night. It was great they brought out my kids food first, something I value in a restaurant. My kids had the fettuccine Alfredo and spaghetti, I took a bite of the fettuccine and it had no flavor. I ordered the steak and my husband had the tavern chicken. They both had no flavor, the salad was depressing the lettuce was limp and it was just lettuce and dressing. The potatoes tasted instant and the carrots were over seasoned. The worst part is everything was terribly over priced. There seemed to be a lot of people, but maybe it was for the alcohol which I didn't partake in, but I'm not sure the appeal other than proximity, but don't waste your time.

I've been to ToM four times, and my experience has been pretty consistent. Great service and atmosphere, excellent and extremely reasonably priced drinks, but the food is mostly only ok. I've never had a bad meal there, just not one that was so good I thought about it for days afterward - until Saturday. I have been wanting to try the BBQ shrimp and grits the last few visits, but something else always won out. Finally got to try it this weekend, and I'm hooked. The shrimp is great, but the grits are the star of the dish. I have no idea what they put in the grits, but they were ridiculously flavorful. I'll be getting it on all future visits. Overall ToM is a totally worthwhile choice for a dinner out.

It's wonderful to have another good restaurant option in Belleville. Sometimes I just don't feel like driving to St. Louis or Edwardsville! The Tequila Lime Shrimp are a bit bland and I'd advise a different app choice. BUT the wasabi-encrusted salmon was amazing! One of the best pieces of salmon that I've had outside of Great Britain. It was completely unexpected. I can't wait to go back and try it again.

Been here several times before today. Always had great food and pretty good service. Today's lunch time visit was not so great. Went in for late lunch arrived about 1:20pm and sat at the bar. Female bartender came to the bar area and visited and gossiped with some of the other patrons seated behind me. Not once even looked in my direction or asked me if I needed anything. So after the bartender came to the bar area several times and me getting zero service I got up and left. I really do like the place might have try again but no time soon.

IN SHORT: An upscale restaurant and bar in Belleville that isn't a chain and which has decent food? Sign me up! THE FULL STORY: Tavern on Main is probably the best restaurant you're going to find in Belleville if you're looking for a blend of Italian food, steaks and seafood in a place where you can also get beer and wine. It delivers on all of the promise of Marco's on Main (which is on the opposite end of town, but also on Main Street) -- it takes all of the things that Marco's does well, throws in some improved dishes and offers it in a restaurant location that's nice, new and loaded with pleasant atmosphere. (It's also not connected to a dive bar like Marco's is to Shennanigans -- a plus if you're trying to enjoy a meal in the evening hours.) Tavern on Main is something of a sports bar, something of a restaurant, and something of a place to hang out and drink with friends. It's really well-suited to the Belleville demographic. I'm not sure it'd play quite so well in a different area, but for Belleville, it's quite upscale compared to other local options. The tables are nice and seem to be solid wood. The chairs are comfortable. Even packed and full of loud people, the place isn't deafening. The lighting is pleasant, allowing you to see the people around you clearly without being too harsh on the eyes. Pizza is definitely one of the specialties you'll find here, and it's very good - the crust is thin, but not cracker-like, and there's a nice variety of toppings to choose from. The prices range from $10-20 per pie, but a $15 12" is more than enough for two people to share. (I'd note that if you want pizza to go, you can get the same pizzas for around the same prices from Marco's Express just a couple of miles away). The house salad is a pleasant blend of lettuce and cheese with sweet Italian dressing. Just be warned if you're a vegetarian - they do put meat in the salad, so either ask for them to make you a fresh one with no meat or get something different. My wife ordered the Prime Rib special, which was a 14 oz steak with two sides for $18. It was way more than she could eat, and probably suitable for sharing with another person. She said it was quite tasty, and is looking forward to having the leftovers tomorrow. Our friends both enjoyed their food as well. We had our 2-year-old with us and, while there was really nothing for her to eat or do (something we anticipated after seeing the lack of a kid's menu, so we brought her a snack bag and some activities!), she really did like the pizza. That's not to say that it's a perfect experience -- the place can get really crowded quickly (though it's only been open for a few months, the locals love it!) and there's no system for letting you know when a table is ready, which means you've got to crowd in the lobby or bar area and wait. Also, children are tolerated, but not encouraged -- this place is really more for adults than for families. We were also there on a Saturday night, which meant that the service was fairly slow (though the serving staff worked together well and made sure we never wanted for anything). In the end, we'll definitely be back. We just probably won't go on a Saturday night... and we might drop off toddler off with her grandparents before we dine.

We (two couples) went to Tavern on the Main Sat night for dinner. We stood in the bar area while we waited for our friends to arrive. I ordered a black and tan - but no Bass! So I had a Guinness and Southwick Ale combo- (black and someone). We were seated in the first dining area to the left. The husbands immediately complained about the dining chairs. Personally, I thought they were comfortable. We ordered 4 different meals: linguine with shrimp, the surf and turf, the tortelloni, and the scallops. Everyone had the house salad. For the first time I can remember, everyone was happy with the meal of his/her choice. We were all surprised that the scallops were nicely prepared. I guess we are scallop snobs. My shrimp with mushrooms combo was really good. My husband's steak was actually cooked rare - which is hard to find in most restaurants. My friend ordered her meal with broccoli because she is avoiding carbs. Actually, I wanted to order the Frutta Mare but I was afraid to do it. I am originally from New England and ocean seafood usually disappoints me, in the Midwest. Maybe I will try it next time. And, yes, there will be a next time. The prices were a little high but the food was quite good. My only complaint is the dining area is a tad noisy. And, the dining room was not completely full. But, it is nice to go to a non-franchise restaurant.

Great food and atmosphere! My wife and I really love warm bread and usually get a good idea about a place from their bread. This place delivered! I had the "surf and turf". The fillet was perfectly cooked and tasted great. The scallops were pretty tiny but were also cooked perfectly. The prices were very reasonable with nothing costing more than $18. We finished the meal with a slice of homemade Bailey's cheesecake, which was great. The only drawbacks were that the vegetables were clearly from a frozen bag and were overcooked and the coffee was below normal restaurant standards. Overall it was a great date and I'd go back.

I've only been to this place once but my main gripe is that it's way overpriced for standard pub fair. I got the wings and my girlfriend got a fancy salad which didn't look very fresh. After a couple of beers, the bill was remarkably high for what we considered similar to what we'd revive at aJoe Nobody's greasy spoon in every town.

Took newly re-located friends, from the Champaign area, to dinner there last Friday eve. Wanted to introduce them to our lovely City. They were impressed that Belleville had a historical building renovation into a classy bar / restaurant. Actually they loved the whole Downtown Belleville ambiance. We did have an hour wait for our table, but that really was not such a big deal. We enjoyed before dinner drinks at the "horseshoe" shaped bar. The ice ledge is an upscale addition to the bar. Look up and notice the martini glass light fixtures! Mark has taken the extra steps to make his new endeavor to another level. My husband was impressed that the menu was not the regular "bar food". He totally enjoyed the Steak Marco, I had one of the evening specials, Grilled Salmon with a Terryaki sauce. Friends stated they could cut their steaks with a fork. Of course we all had the signature Italian dinner salad. All of just happened to choose the same sides, wild rice & a Mediterranean mixed vegetable medley of steamed broccoli, cauliflower, squash & carrots. There seemed to be a splash of white wine to season them. A surprisingly nice accent to the veggies. We were all very impressed with the latest addition to Downtown Belleville. Nice job, Mark! We will be back.

Menu sounds good...execution...not so much. Me and three friends went on a Friday around 930pm. There was no wait. Our waitress brought us water, dropped it off and walked away. We had already been waiting for a while to get that so we actually wanted to order appetizers. She then walked around the restaurant and was going to just walk right past our table and i had to flag her down to order appetizers. The portabella strips were really good but the other apps we had...hummus and tequila lime coconut shrimp were mediocre. I ordered the surf and turf which came with a side salad and a baked potato. I got the sweet italian salad and it was not good. It had a lot of undercooked bacon, a few sprinkles of cheese and was supposed to have scallions which i didnt see, with iceberg lettuce. My steak was undercooked to my liking so i sent it back and then when it came back the outside of it was burned. The scallops could have been seared better and were lacking in flavor. My friedn ordered tomato bisque and did not like it. It was very chunky instead of smooth like a bisque. And my other friend ordered a ceasar salad with grilled shrimp and she was not impressed with that either. She said the dressing was nkt a typical ceasar but it was kind of sour and bitter. So...none of the food was impressive and it was expensive for the quality of food. The icing on the cake was that me and my three friends had been there for at least an hour and a half and had finished eating and everything. Some other fruends came over and ordered a couple of drinks. Tell me why the waitress charged me and my three friends for gratuity bc she said we had a party of 8? I argued the fact that we had been done eating when our friends joined us. She tried to explain why but i wasnt convinced and didnt feel like arguing but that was pretty bogus in my opinion. I will never eat there again.

Lots of empty tables, yet we were told there'd be "like about an hour wait" for a party of 2. Okay, technically not a food review but nonetheless reflective of some service-related issues.

Tried this new place for dinner Monday night and was impressed. The place looks great compared to what was in this location before. Bar area was classy, dining rooms were open, and best of all the bacon-wrapped filet was wonderful. Service was better than expected for the recent opening. Some kinks to be worked out including menus printed on the office computer (I'm assuming this is coming soon) and limited dessert selection which the waitress said was coming as well. Would definitely return to try another dish.

Went with a group of friends for a nice dinner night out. Service was slow and took awhile to get drinks refilled. Salad was very delicious for the meal. I got the pesce marinara and my girlfriend had the linguini ala Marco. The pesce was flavorful but there was supposed to be scallops, shrimp and clams. There was 1 scallop and it was very undercooked and extremely chewy. The linguini ala marco was very tasteless and almost tasted out of a box. Had to add a lot of parmesan cheese to be tasteful enough to eat. Value of taste for price of food was not satisfactory. The setting was very pleasant, but we will not be back to eat , but would be back to have drinks.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Dane H.

(4)Jim B.

(4)Kenny R.
had the lunch buffet...so strange. Food was in the hallway, selections were a little lite. I suppose it was just ok. May have to go back to see what dinner is like, because lunch kind of missed the mark.
(3)Norel P.

Excellent
(5)Gavin H.
Excellent. The sweet Italian salad was actually very subtly sweet... Paired with excellent blackened chicken made for a lovely evening on the patio. Prices are also pretty good by gastropub standards. Worth a look.
(4)J-Bird G.

(3)Colleen M.
Delicious food and a lot of fun! Heather was our server and she was fantastic...will definately make the trip to come back!
(5)Tina S.

(2)Lesley S.

(4)Anthony H.
(5)Chris S.
(3)M V.
I'm a big fan of the lobster pizza. I've had some questionable service here from time to time though so I can't give five stars. Definitely a place worth trying if you're on Main Street in Belleville.
(4)Chuck S.
(3)Lindsey T.
Very accommodating for large parties and events! Had my wedding rehearsal dinner there and they set up a nice private buffet for us, which everyone loved! Nice atmosphere, and the musicians that play outside are great entertainment!
(5)Chris U.
I ate here on a Sunday for their buffet. I was very impressed with the food all around & will definitely be coming back to order off the menu.
(4)B W.
Mom got the pork chop. I went with the Mahi. Good as always. Great night & great place for people watching.
(4)Kevin S.
(5)Octavius C.
Very nice local place to try out. It's nice to have somewhere close by to try without going over to St. Louis. Everyone was very friendly. Fast service. We will definitely be returning.
(5)Audrey H.
I love this place it's one of the best pizza I have ever eaten love Tea night fantastic drink service and atmosphere was also fantastic thank you I really enjoyed myself and so did the other 4 people in our group Went back to ST LOUIS and we all talked about it for days how delicious the food was and how much we enjoyed the atmosphere Thank you! !
(5)John B.
(4)Matthew H.
(4)Allie O.
(3)Bridgett J.
We held my sister's baby shower here a few weeks ago and everything was perfect! The food was great and the service was spectacular!!! Thank you Tavern on Main!
(5)Anastasia D.
(2)Russell B.

(4)Davidfoodexpert O.
(4)Rashelle G.
(3)Debbie H.
Love it.
(5)LeeRoy G.
(5)Amber K.

(4)Julie M.
(4)Greg R.

My husband and I really enjoy this place! We are so happy to have somewhere close to home with a nice atmosphere where we can get a beer and a good meal! The service has been good, we like the food and we really like the decor.

I love appetizers. I tried an appetizer here I have never seen before; Mushroom strips w/ a horseradish dipping sauce, AMAZING! These people own Marco's Express & Marcos on Main so pizza is great too! Perfect location and friendly atmosphere.
