Rarely have my wife and I been to a newer restaurant and been this taken with our meals. We usually travel to St Louis for BBQ and go to some of the more well known establishments, however, we will no longer need to go anywhere but Beast for the best BBQ around. I got the brisket and it was juicy, flavorful, and tender. My wife got the ribs, and we both agreed (she let me sample one) they have the best ribs either of us has ever had before, period! We both got the brussel sprouts with pork belly which was a wonderful treat. We also both had the Cole slaw which was super. Almost all the meals are served with homemade tortillas and they are exceptional. I've read some of the other reviews about delays and such, but none of that was present on our visit. Everyone we dealt with at Beast was wonderful. They all helped each other and the customers and answered questions about their food and drinks with a real happiness. We will definitely be going back... Heck I'm thinking about going there for breakfast tomorrow!

The food here is AWESOME! Love it! Love it! Love it! The Burnt Ends- AWESOME! The Brussel Sprouts - AMAZING! The hand-cut Fries are GREAT! And the Tortillas, add the meat all wrapped up with their homemade BBQ sauce?...... Comfort food meets WOW! The Ribs are OVER THE TOP!

More like 3.5 stars but closer to 4 than 3 so 4 it is. We made the trip to Belleville from STL on the Sunday before Memorial day. The drive was nice and it was a beautiful day. Beast Craft is in a fairly unassuming building and the decor is pretty basic. We were there at an off time so it wasn't too busy but if it were busy they would fill up fast. Bonus * They support local farms and community. From their website---"No killer, No filler - no freezers, no cans, & no microwaves, we push the limits of fresh BBQ." The cashier girl was friendly but had trouble finding several of the ciders I tried to order. I finally just said pick whatever cider you can find. No biggie, she seemed kind of young. The hubs ordered the turkey plate with coleslaw and potato salad @ $12 and I ordered the 1/2 chicken with fries and coleslaw @ $9. Both came with flour tortillas which I think is odd and I still don't get it but we both nibbled on them and they were good. Both the turkey and chicken were nice and juicy with good flavors. The coleslaw was bland and too saucy and I wouldn't order it again. The potato salad was way too creamy for me but the hubs liked it a lot. I think it could use some mustard and some seasoning. The fries were not awesome but I think they just weren't my kind of fries-thin with not much too them. The hubs enjoyed them and ate the rest for me. Also, the sauces were thin which is ok but thicker would be better. The cherry chipotle was too sweet and fruity for both of us but their regular sauce is good. They accidentally put an extra item on our ticket but they apologized and took care of it. We will mos def be back at some point but I think I'm going veg again so it might be awhile.

I stopped here last week and tried out this beastly bbq joint. The que was really good but not quite to my tastes. I had the pulled pork and the sausage. The sausage was out of this world good and definitely worth another trip back. The pork was cooked to perfection but something about the smoke flavor was off. It was really juicy and tender so the pit master knows how to smoke some meat. They had smoke bacon mac and cheese that day and it was really good but with all of the cheese, the bacon didn't lend any flavor to the dish. My other note was that ordering was really slow. There were only 4 people ahead of me and it took almost 25 minutes to get to the counter. They should maybe review this process and try to speed things up. If you like bbq and are a hipster, this is your place!

Very good modern BBQ joint with interesting menu, and the food is good which is the important thing of course. I was surprised, even slightly annoyed, when they did not give me a knife when they gave me a fork for my beef brisket, but I quickly realized that I didn't need. The meat literally fell apart upon first touch, it was that tender. The two table sauces are vinegary, which I'm not really a fan of, but they were fine. Like everyone says here, the cherry chipotle is interesting. The best part is their beer selection, with at least 4 or 5 different IPA's. I highly recommend the Hop Nosh IPA from Salt Lake City.

Amazing BBQ. Couldn't even finish all the food and sides. The server was so nice.. It was like 5 min past closing but the yelp listing had the wrong times but she still let us in and told us we could even eat in if we wanted. We took it to-go. She gave us like two extra sides cause it was near closing time.

I haven't heard much about this place, and a bit surprised about that. It's very good bbq, served as it should be, w/o smothering it in sauce. I had the brisket, w/ slaw and baked beans. The brisket had really good flavor, but took a bit to cut with a fork edge (not the most tender ). Still the flavor was good enough to make up for that. The slaw was creamy type, and very fresh and tasty. The beans were the highlight of the meal. Great taste, consistency, and loaded with bits of meat. Probably the best beans I've had in the area. Overall, a very good meal, and worthy of a return trip to try other meats. That brings me to my only disappointment of the visit. They have a 4 bone option w/ 2 sides for $11. They also have a kids 2 bone portion for $5. I had ordered my brisket w/2 sides, but also wanted to try the ribs. I asked if I could get a kids 2 bone to try them as I already had the sides w/ the brisket meal. They wouldn't accommodate me. They weren't rude about it, but it was obvious I wasn't the first to ask. I think they would make a a killing having the kid portion as an side option for everyone. The staff were friendly and professional.

Not what I expected. The girl at the register could not answer question when asked about the food. I ordered chicken and kielbasa plate with beans and slaw. The chicken was dry and had no rub or seasoning. It did not even have a smoked flavor. It was nor like baked chicken? The sausage was also dry but you could taste the smoked flavor. The beans were runny and tasted like they used beer to thin them out. They tasted like I spilled my beer in them. The coke slaw had way too much celery seed and the sauce had no flavor. Not real sure I will return. I know I won't make a special trip to eat here.

This is serious quality barbecue here. The pit beans are so full of smoky, warm flavor that fills the soul. The pan fried kale was also great, just enough garlic to not overpower it, and cooked so that it's still got a crisp and firm feel without being soggy. And the pork snoot was just bomb-- so good! It was crispy and full of flavor you'd expect from skin, and put on the perfect paired thick bread, you've got a winning sandwhich there. Add some cool gourmet sodas and this is a true hidden gem!!

This BBQ place is amazing. The owners are super nice to their whole customer base, which is hard to find now a days. Their BBQ is some of the best I've had! Highly recommend the pork steak!

I've only been here once, but I was very impressed with this BBQ joint! I had the burnt end sandwich and Brussel sprouts with pork belly. I know what you're thinking "Brussel sprouts with BBQ"? Oh hell yes! These are the best brussel sprouts I've ever had. The BBQ was fantastic as well, and the buns appeared to be home made with just the perfect consultancy between soft, but solid enough to hold it all together. I can't wait to come back a sample the ribs and brisket ( which looked fantastic BTW).

  • Mike N.

Absolutely the best ribs in St. Louis. Also had the huge pork steak. Didn't need a knife to cut it since it was so tender. Loved the sides especially the Brussel sprouts with fat back!

  • Brian Z.

This one of the best bbq establishments have ever eaten. Their sauce is fantastic. I ordered several things to try ribs, kielbasa, burnt ends, pork steak sandwich, brussel sprouts with pork belly and roasted kale. I could only eat half of the pork steak, 1 rib, 1 piece of kielbasa and all the burnt ends. First of all the burnt ends were and pork steak were my favorites. Next time I will have to try the burnt end sandwich. I didn't really get why there where two tortillas in the box. The really didn't go well with anything. I would have preferred to see a roll or slices of white bread. No excuse me while I slip into a bbq meat coma. Zzzzzz

  • Beth B.

Barbecue is amazing!! Best burnt ends ever! I loved the Brussel sprouts and candied bacon as well! Give it a try, you won't be sorry! The only thing I didn't care for is the soda choices! I'm a Coca-Cola girl!

Watch out Pappy's, you have a real competitor to the east. I ate at Beast Craft BBQ today in my hometown of Belleville, IL and was really impressed. I had their brisket sandwich with spicy mustard, pickles, and smoked onions. I would order it again - the brisket was extra tender and had great flavoring and smoke rings. As a backyard BBQ enthusiast (Big Green Egger) and a certified BBQ judge through the St. Louis BBQ Association, this place is legit. They will be winning competitions in the future. In addition to the meat (I also tried their extra juicy smoked chicken), I also highly recommend their smoked (whole) chicken wings, the organic roasted kale, and the brussels sprouts & pork belly. This place is perfect for Belleville. The only down side is how crowded its going to be because the BBQ is scrumtrulescent. They also offer "more meat" as a side...a BBQ connoisseur's saucey dream.

Any Sammich... ANY Sammich will satisfy the taste buds! Potato salad & Brussels sprouts w/ pork belly, I recommend. Try any meat (pulled pork, brisket, pastrami) with their hot cherry bbq sauce. Friendly staff and quick service. I'll be back! They have steady hours compared to other BBQ joints that close when they run out of meat...

BEAST BBQ has a chance to become a great BBQ joint. The décor is spot on, especially the menu on the wall. We ordered the Fed Well Meal, basically a meat platter. The sausage was fan-tas-tic. The brisket and pull pork were a bit on the dry side. To become a great BBQ joint, you would never served the dried meat. Then comes the sauce. A great sauce could rescue some dried meat, but this sauce couldn't help anything. It was too sweet, too runny, no tang and no kick. Next, the star of the show, the Brussels sprouts with pork belly. Now, I am not a fan of Brussels sprouts, but the first was gone so fast that we had to order another one. This is a start to a great BBQ joint. You can feel the passion and friendliness of the staff. Two things that they need to fix. First, do not serve dry meat. Second, get two more sauces, give your customers a choice.

I love BBQ and had high hopes for this place. It was good. But it was not fantastic. There is better BBQ in the metro area. I had Brisket, side salad and fries. My husband had ribs, side salad and coleslaw. The side salad was good. Though our meal came first. I'd have rather had the salad first. The brisket was good. The ribs were good. Neither were exceptional. The fries. . . well I don't really like limp fries. I've had worse. I've had better. The biggest problem for me was the sauce. It has the consistency of vinegar. There is only one sauce option. And it was just . .. eh. Not even ok in my opinion. It should not run off my meat. I want sauce. I want it to stay on my meat and not run all over my tray. Honestly the sauce might just be the biggest hesitation in my return. I'm sure we will be back at some point, but it isn't at the top of my list for BBQ. One other note: I don't get the tortillas. I don't want to wrap my brisket in a tortilla. And with the ribs? Ummm what? I'd rather have a nice slice of toasted french bread or sourdough. When did BBQ turn Mexican? We arrived at 4:30 pm on Sat and they were out of many things already. That's always a risk with BBQ. Hopefully they can figure out how to plan and keep things on the menu for longer.

My husband and I have been looking forward to eating here since we heard it was opening. It's fantastic to see a restaurant on this side of the river so committed to locally sourced ingredients. The interior is a vast improvement over the previous establishments and is clean and welcoming. As soon as you step inside, it smells amazing. We ordered dinner portions of the beer-battered brisket and pit-roasted chicken, along with two sides each and the recommended beers for each entrée. Our food was served promptly, and everything tasted great. The chicken was sweet, savory, and juicy. The smoky brisket fell delicately apart. The borracho beans were flavorful, and the kale was cooked and salted just right. Do yourself a favor and try the brussels sprouts with pork belly. I promise you've never been happier to eat brussels sprouts. The barbecue sauce was rich and sweet without being cloying. The fries were spot on. We loved everything, and with the generous but appropriate portions, we can't wait to eat the leftovers we took home. Each member of the crew stopped by to check on us. They were courteous and attentive -- nowhere close to overbearing -- and fixed any minor issues before they could become a problem. We had a wonderful meal and look forward to going back very soon, and bringing friends. BEAST is absolutely worth checking out.

This is really not one of my fave places to eat in Belleville. They were out of ribs at 4:30pm. Really??? I did like the brussel spouts and that was about it. It wasn't bad, it just was not what I like.

I'm a bbq snob. Well, kinda. I compete in bbq contests, and I am a certified judge. This is legit bbq! Been there 3 times, had ribs, brisket, and burnt ends. All were spot on. Not sure about the choice of the burracho beans however. A good bbq "pit" bean would fit far better. Its a bbq joint, not a tex-mex place. The other sides, potato salad, and slaw were decent however. The choice of Excel sodas is a very cool touch, along with Exel beers. Can't go wrong here. Try it!

  • Daniel W.

Very authentic BBQ. Burnt ends and all. Ordered a full rack of spare ribs...enough for 4 meals of BBQ and smoked and seasoned superbly. Pulled pork and kielbasa were also excellent. If you have an issue maybe its a bad day or you didn't insist on a replacement. Thoroughly good BBQ. Not to be missed.

Great food, the brisket is amazing and tender the sauce is homemade and the beans and home cut fries are tasty. The drinks are off name brands from ski which is kinda cool plus they have different types of homemade beers and drinks. Highly recommended and you won't be disappointed.

I can't get enough of this place ! I love the Brussels sprouts , cooked to perfection , the pork steak is so tender you don't even need a knife to cook it !

The food is dry and tasteless. The whole operation appears to be run by teenagers and the food and service show it! Not recommended.

I had the brisket sandwich and the macaroni and cheese. The brisket was phenomenal. It had very grainy mustard on it which I love. All of their BBQ sauces were good and I tasted the BBQ chicken and the Kielbasa which were both very good also. I don't get to Belleville very often but I will be back. I can't wait to try more things on the menu.

Mr D and made it over to Bellville for our latest BBQ Wednesday. It's a bit of a haul but it turned out to be worth the drive. We found BEAST to be in the top tier of places we have been. As a bonus, they have a decent selection of bottled, local craft beers. I ordered the Well Fed Beast platter and a half rack of ribs besides. This was a ton of food and as I write this, Ms T and I will be having great leftovers for dinner. Brisket - well done, nicely smoky, tender, moist, perhaps dressed just a little. Missing a great bark. Pulled pork - good flavor, moist, shredded, with a thin sauce on it that did not interfere with the meat. Burnt ends - I don't' really get the burnt end thing, especially since I know that most places make them on purpose to meet the demand. You know, like boneless wings that are not from wing meat and country style ribs that are not ribs. However, these were pretty good, not too dry, but also not very burnt. They also seemed to have a similar seasoning as the pulled pork and brisket. Ribs - These are spare ribs - they were well done, smoky, nice flavor and good rub. Tender, moist. Kielbasa - I was skeptical since this is usually Hillshire Farms that someone warmed up. I think this was not that commercial. I spotted a lot of mustard seed in the sausage which is nice. It was smoky and appeared to have the house dressing on it. I actually really liked it. Even if commercial, they have done a good job with it. Bonus - Nothing needed salt. Slaw - creamy/tangy. Good balance, not flat and boring. It did have too much celery seed which made it bitter, but was still decent. Pot salad - Way over dressed and a little boring. But not overloaded with onion or yellow mustard. Roasted corn and cuke salad - hmmmm. This was a daily special. It had some onion and cucumber. I don't know if the cuke had been roasted or was raw. I was underwhelmed. The use of cucumbers in this just did not work for me and I like them in salads. Sprouts - This was the only thing I had that needed salt. Meat in them was non-descript. They seemed flash fried because the outer leaves were crisp. They were underdone for me, still crunchy. They were OK but need a little work BEAST has a very good barbecue joint feel. They know what they are doing across the board on all of the meats that I tried. This is definitely mid-western style barbecue with the dressing on the brisket and pulled pork. Mercifully they don't load anything with a heavy sweet sauce. This is probably the best I have found except for Salt+ Smoke. S+S has somewhat better brisket because they are successful at approaching Texas style. But I really like the more humble feel of BEAST. This is a strong four stars and I may raise that when I see the consistency. It is a bit of a hike, but was worth it. They have chicken, turkey, huge pork steaks and snoots besides the large sampling that I did.

Lucky pick from Yelp! We were looking for something close by for lunch in Belleville. This place had good Yelp reviews, so we gave them a try. They have eat in and take out areas, and tvs in the take out side. The bbq smell in the parking lot let us know we had made the right choice. They have an entire wall covered with a blackboard, which was the beer / ale / cider / stout menu. The main menu changes depending on what is fresh. We had the half rack of ribs, a pork steak sandwich, and a turkey sandwich (pics attached). Bbq, fries and the brussel sprouts with pork belly were all excellent. We'll be back to try more!

    (5)
  • Christopher D.

Wow what a surprise! Coming from Texas it's hard to make a Bbq impression on me, but Beast Craft BBQ did that last night. THEY CAN, IF THEY PAY ATTENTION, DOMINATE THE BELLEVILLE FOOD SCENE. Yup, the food has that much potential. Great location with a ton of parking. Decent size dining space inside, with a lot of room to expand outside if they wanted to. They have a nice menu - sausage, chicken, pork, and beef. Quality sides (who doesn't like crispy Brussels sprouts with pork belly!?), and a good beer selection. Standout feature (other that the perfect pork steak and brisket) last night when I dined in was the front of house STAFF. Very friendly and informative, and when they weren't helping customers they cleaned. Little things make the difference! They offer discounts to military / vets / first responders (nice touch!). I went with sliced brisket (very moist and fresh at 5pm!), Brussel sprouts, and the awesome sautéed kale (garrrlic......), and my wife chose the surprising pork steak with potato salad. They give you flour tortillas, which is nice, but they were a little rushed and not all the way cooked - not a big deal because I was there for meat. Overall the experience was fantastic, and I look forward to more meals here. I hope they don't forget those little things - make sure the food is right before sending it out, and hire an expert to figure out a way to keep flies out. I know it's a challenge, but it's hard to enjoy any meal when you are constantly shooing away flies.

Truthfully I wanted to rate beast as a 3.5 star but that's not an option so I will give it a 4 star. When we first walked in, we had an idea of what we wanted. Everything we wanted was not on the menu, featured during certain days of the week, or after 5PM. So we started at the menu for a good 5 mins before deciding what to get. We kinda felt rushed in a way but it's all good. The restaurant is very clean inside. How they take orders seems to be a little confusing but manageable. It's a pretty small place! What we had.... Half rack of ribs...these are definitely fall off the bone ribs! They are super delicious and cooked very well! Not many people can eat cartilage but the one on these ribs were soft enough! Kielbasa...it was alright! I'm a fan of sausage but this one is ok. Maybe It was the mustard that threw me off or I just ordered the wrong thing that day. Sides... Brussels sprouts...the best Brussels sprouts I've had from a BBQ joint! It was a little bit on the salty side but still good. Cole slaw...didn't care for this at all. Not sure what was wrong with it but I've had better! Candied bacon...this was pretty good! Super sweet. The sauces....didn't care for any of them. They were just all so sweet. Overall, this BBQ joint is not a bad place for Belleville! I wish they I will be back to try other goodies! I hope they make brisket nachos a permanent menu item! Something I'm dying to try!

I really enjoyed my first--and so far, only--visit to BEAST. Delicious and PLENTY of food. I like the concept of local--even down to the Excel Bottling products for sodas. I've never been a fan of stand-and-order set-ups because I feel rushed. I know..it's just me, and I also understand this is common in this type of restaurant. I just don't like it. That aside--great food, cool atmosphere, awesome craft beer selection. Pretty great place.

  • Chad R.

I got the BEAST meal. Everything was wonderful, but the brisket and kielbasa really stood out as well as their "standard" sauce. I got the brussels sprouts and bacon Mac as sides. I can't wait to go back and try more. I also loved what they did with the interior, which used to be a Hi-De-Ho (basically a Waffle House). They kept the bar in place and have tons of great local draft beers and all the soft drinks are local too, including my favorite, Ski! Kudos and good luck to the owners. Thanks for supporting local businesses, now locals it is your turn to support them. Bring out the Beast!

I've been very excited for this place to open, and couldn't be happier with the results. All the meats are great, and the sides are incredible. Can't get enough of the Brussels sprouts and pork belly, as well as the kale. My fiancé and I share the "well fed beast" meal, and we both eat for $15, not bad. Doesn't hurt that they source locally and you can feel good about it.

Like BBQ and beer pairings? How about craft beer in the recipe? If so, then you should be very happy here! Walk in, hang a left and you'll be in line to order. See the hand written menu selections, most with a recommended beer pairing. Place your order and pay, grab a number and find a seat. This is a foodie friendly joint that appeals to craft beer enthusiasts. There were 8 in our party, who all liked to share samples. We ordered ribs, smoked chicken, pulled pork nachos, smoked & half sauced wings, kielbasa, the pulled pork sandwich, Brussel sprouts w/fat back, potato salad, fries, and smoked corn on the cob. Brussel sprout topping on the pulled pork nachos are brilliant. Solid, not soggy, chips and a large portion. I enjoyed the dry rub and only needed a small amount of the house BBQ sauce on my ribs. The tender pork meat was smoked lean and had just enough charring. Kielbasa cut on the bias, potato salad with a distinct amount of dill, crispy fries with some skin on, and those Brussel sprouts with fatback! Large portions satisfied everyone's appetite and provided some nice take home boxes too. Started with Urban Chestnut's Wing Nut & finished with an O'Fallon Wheach. Stag is available. Again, the menu recommends food and beer pairings. It also notes which beers are used in their recipes. Nice remodel. Three monitors over the vintage stools. We enjoyed the classic rock tunes, friendly service, and overall experience. Definitely added to my dining rotation.

I am so glad I decided to give this place a try. Seriously some of the best bbq I have ever had. It blows away Pappy's. I had the spare ribs and nachos topped with brisket. Everything tasted excellent and the service was superb. I no longer live in St. Louis but I may drive back down there from Chicago just to eat here the next time I am craving good bbq. Yes, it's that good!

We ordered seconds immediately after finishing our meals. Not sure if I've done that before, but I'm sure you'll want to do the same. Get the Brussels sprouts and the kale and anything beefy.

Great BBQ. I had the half chicken and it was so moist and full flavor. I thought the sauce and tortilla that came with it was a bit weird when I first saw it but it was great! The beans were delicious, the potato salad was horrible, ewww no flavor just a bunch of mayonnaise not mayo salad like miracle whip. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good but could use just a pinch of salt.

My third favorite Midwest restaurant. It is behind some of the greats like Pappy's and Sugarfire. This amazing BBQ can hold it's own. Don't let the Bellville location fool you. This is a BBQ that will be one to remember and one to always go back and visit. Their food is well smoked, well seasoned, and delicious with every bite!

Down to earth atmosphere, paired with delicious BBQ and local craft beers. Has been busy every time we've been here, but the staff is efficient and friendly. Everything we have tried is very good. A welcome renovation of the old Hi-Ho Cafe. We will continue to come back.

I KNOW and LOVE BBQ!! Had high hopes for the newest BBQ joint in B'ville. The fam & I tried it out on a Thursday night. Pretty crowded, but then emptied out not soon after we got there. They were out of a few things, which is fine, because there were other things to try! Here is the crit of the food we had: Pulled Pork - good but stone cold! Temps need checking! Loved that it was served with fresh tortillas. That was something I had not seen before! Ribs - Really great flavor, but almost dry. Kielbasa - great flavor but, cold Rib Tips - couldn't eat Chicken Wings - so-so not served with sauce Brisket - Dry, tough and again cold Best thing there were the sides! Brussels sprouts w/pork belly, bacon mac & cheese. So glad someone is doing a good mac & cheese in B'ville! But the SPROUTS!! OMG!!! Slaw could be really good if it was allowed to marinate in the dressing for a day or two. I liked the potato salad but fam didn't. The sauce is REALLY good!! Very different from anything I have ever had in ANY BBQ joint. I will go back to try the chicken if I can get there when they have it:):) I will for sure go back for the sprouts and mac & cheese!! Another cool thing is their drink selections! RED CREAM SODA!!!

After hearing great things about this place, I thought I'd give it a try today, driving from two towns over. Unfortunately, I left disappointed and hungry. All I wanted was the beef brisket. What kind of barbecue joint runs out of beef brisket at 4:45 on a Sunday afternoon? Can you imagine if Pizza Hut ran out of cheese and pepperoni? If you're looking something in particular, call ahead...

I went with a group of family and friends, and we came to the consensus that this place has some of the best BBQ we've ever had. Between the seven of us, we tried the brisket nachos, pulled pork, smoked turkey, brussel sprouts, kale, a side salad, cole slaw, baked potatoes, and a number of the beers and hard ciders available. Everything was wonderful, my smoked turkey was great with the spicy cherry bbq sauce. I've missed good BBQ since leaving Texas, and this is a more than acceptable substitute. I hope they keep up the awesome work.

I ordered the St Louis Style Ribs with a side of beans and brussel sprouts. The ribs were fall off the bone good. BBQ sauce was awesome too. The Brussel Sprouts are a must! My wife ordered the pork steak and it was humongous and delicious. They were out of some items but that's to be expected when it's prepared fresh daily. Overall, definitely a must try!!!

I ate their for the first time recently after hearing great things from friends. I had the pulled pork with slaw sandwich. The meat was juicy and the slaw was just right, not too sweet. I had a side of potato salad and it didn't disappoint either. I really likes the hot cherry BBQ sauce, even though it's not really hot. They had a lot of hard cider variety on the menu too, much more than any other place locally.

This was an odd experience for me. First of all, the first time I drove by they didn't have an open sign so I assumed they were not open so a drove down to another BBQ competitor a few blocks away. Today, I finally managed to stop by and give it a try and what a disappointment. I ordered the pork sandwich with a side of beans and brussels sprouts. The beans were cold/tasteless and the toasted bun was cold.. The pork almost tasted baked instead of smoked....very bland and also was cold. The Brussels sprouts were good :) I hope they can turn things around because it's nice to have a few BBQ restaurants to choose from, but for now the other competitor down the street has "NOTHING" to worry about.

The best BBQ in the area hands down!!! If you want generic BBQ head down the street. This place isn't for beginners!!! Just great handcrafted local BBQ and sides smoked with local hickory and cherry woods! The beverage menu is even local witch blew my mind! Craft sofa and beer from local companies. Next time your out and hungry be sure to give this place a try our you will be sorry!!!

We ordered at 5:43 p.m. on the Sunday before Memorial Day. Because it took 24 minutes for our food to arrive, I had plenty of time to consider all the features of Beast Craft BBQ Company. They serve Excel soft drinks and they were very tasty. The soft drinks and tea are all self-serve. Sauce is on each table in squirt bottles. The tea is from Kaldi's and it is very good too. Beast Craft has been extensively remodeled from its days as the Hy-Ho and The Patriot to include the restrooms. Beast has a Facebook page where they post photos of the current menu, which changes when items run out. We were told that when they run out of stuff, it's usually brisket. I ordered the Smoked Turkey with Cucumber Sandwich. It was excellent. Very tender turkey and very fresh, sweet cucumber with Swiss cheese. I squirted some cherry chipotle BBQ sauce on it and it complimented the flavor of the meat. I had the kale as the side item and boy, was it good. Mmmm. My wife ordered the Brisket Sammich and a side of Bacon Macaroni and Cheese. The Sammich was very good. I thought it odd that they schmeared it with Dijon mustard. It was very good with both the cherry chipotle and their standard BBQ sauce. The snag in our meal was the Bacon Mac and Cheese (BM&C). Although our order took 24 minutes to arrive, the BM&C was cold. An attentive member of the wait staff asked how our food was and my wife asked for a re-do of the BM&C. Several minutes passed. I finished my food and the same member of the wait staff came to collect my tray. She asked if my wife was done and my wife replied, "I will be when my BM&C returns." The server suddenly dashed back to the kitchen to retrieve the BM&C. (I think she forgot about it.) It was kind of warmish on top and really hot and steaming deeper inside its Styrofoam cup. My wife picked at it and then decided she'd had enough for one meal. She thought it had pretty good flavor, all things considered. Beast Craft BBQ has a lot of potential and is worth a visit. The staff tries awfully hard to please. We will most certainly return to try other items. The Candied Bacon sounds awfully tempting.

We have eaten here six times now. The first few times the I pad died stopping ordering etc but that hasn't been an issue lately. Nothing fancy but the food shines. The food has been above average everytime, especially for the Illinois side where shortcuts and sub par usually filter into many places I think to save money? Not here the staff is helpful and works their butts off to accommodate the small seating area. It is REAL food and includes green veg if you so desire! We have had the ribs, burnt ends(my fav),chicken, handcut fries,Brussels sprouts with pancetta(?),potato salad, slaw ....so far! The BBQ we have had is fantastic! They change specials and sides on FB kinda like SugarFire does in MO. They have a self serve real sugar pop line and also serve beer. This leads me to drool on my laptop and happy they are not in Edwardsville or Maryville because I would want to eat there more often.

My Family and I have had this at least a handful of times so far. The food is AMAZING! The pork steak is unbeatable and is basically almost like 3 meals for the average person. The pork steak is gigantic! Snoot day is Tuesday, and they are fantastic too. I have also tried their burnt ends, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. ALL amazing! I mix the cherry chipotle sauce with their regular sauce, half and half. The brussel sprouts, beans, and slaw are amazing! They also have Ski soda which I love. I always purchase some "Scooby snacks" for my Lab every time I visit. Be sure to CHECK YOUR CARRYOUT ORDER as I have been shorted one side on my last two visits (My Wife called them about this issue). This is hands down the best place to go for bbq, can't be beat! Beastcraft gets their meat from B&D Market, Wenneman's, and Schubert's. I shop all three of these markets. Beastcraft has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I hope that this place stays around for a long, long time to come. I have been spreading the word around to friends and family. We brought a big carry out order to my Mom and Dad (and other Family members) two weekends ago, and they all loved it! BEASTCRAFT RULES!!! Stop in and taste a whole different world of BBQ, you will be amazed! OMG!!! :)

This place was great! Way better then I was expecting. The food was extremely good. We ordered the well fed beast, and it came with rib tips, kelbasa sausage, pulled pork, brisket and your choice of two sides. That was way more then enough for the two of us! There wasn't a thing we didn't like. Not only was the food good, but the customer service was excellent! It was our first time in, and it was obvious. We were quickly greated and shown how things work, in a friendly way. I will definitely go back!

Look out Sugar Fire there's a new sheriff in town:-) My husband and I went to Art on the Square and are so happy that we decided to drop in and check out Beast BBQ. Our visit was outstanding on every level. The food and service equally great. My husband had the Burnt Ends which is served with tortillas (great idea and tasting) and his side choices were fries and out of this world Brussel Sprouts. I had the Brisket sandwich with the amazing house mustard, topped with onions and a side of Organic Pan-Roasted Kale. OMG! Really folks, the BBQ and sides truly do not get better than the Beast. They also had wonderful, premium beverages and craft beer. We sampled the Turkey and the Kielbasa and both were off the charts. Kudos to the Chef and staff. Excellent! What a treat. Thank you for this plesant, delicious dining experience. We will return soon. Oh, forgot to mention the two BBQ sauces; Cherry Chipotle and I believe what they labeled as The Standard - doesn't get any better.

Amazing pulled pork, French fries and Salad! Clean, quick and excellent little home town food!!! This was our second visit and I am even more impressed this visit. The pulled pork is full of flavor and so tender. The French fries were so tasty that I ate them first. So much food for such a great price. Very busy on weekends, so plan to wait. If that is the only time you can come, it's worth the wait. We went during our lunch time today and no wait time at all but it got more busy as we were there. Delicious!!!

Excellent food. The brussels sprouts are phenomenal. The one down side. It's format. If you are in the mood to stand in line to order, stand around and wait for a table and then eat quickly so someone else can have your table, then it's perfect!

Food was great. Brisket was great. I like the self service style restaurant. Even though the staff is real helpful. Great concept with the local craft beers and sodas.

I think I had a little bit of everything! The ribs were fantastic and I have no complaints about anything else. Try the brussel sprouts, I'm usually not a fan, but theirs rocked. I will be back very soon!
