Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Best place to get pizza. Great beef combos, awesome dinners. The Guys are always polite and nice. They are fast even on weekends during the more busier times. And if it's taking a bit longer they always got cold beer and some sports on there big screen. Delivers are always less than an hour. This is the only place I'll buy my pizza from. Good food, great service, and always a good time to be had there.

Heard this place had great dinners and pizza. My wife and I ordered the sausage and peppers and a small Sergios special to split, both were very tasty. nice updated casual dining room. Oh did I mention they serve beer and wine.

BOOM! I hit this place twice a week. Get the Sausage @ Peppers, maybe a little lazana. Got to ask for more than one of the bread sticks because they are perfect. Kitchen staff is freaking spot on. One of the guys used to be a chef at Charlie Trotters but wanted a little bit more laid back gig.

This is the best pizza place in Barrington. Everything is made fresh when u order. Amazing deep dish pizza! the dinners they offer are phenomenal and the value is great. The pizza ingredients selection is pretty good too. Delivery and service is reasonable, sometimes a little slow when the place is getting really busy, but that's understandable.

Some years ago, we relocated from Los Angeles to this Norman Rockwellian idyllic Chicago suburb. It was for our daughter's benefit, we wanted her to have a great education in a safe environment, and grow up with midwestern values. For the most part, it was a successful move. At the time, after local exploration, (and my previous choice burning down, not my fault), my "go to" pizza became the thin crust at Sergio's. They've moved a couple times since then, and changed owners, but they are still grinding out great pies for the past thirty years. Passing through the burbs this summer, on a mission to look at some horses for sale, it was appropriate to re-sample Sergio's, and see how my memory compared to reality. While most people identify Chicago with "Deep Dish Pizza" (except Jon Stewart), the thin crust pies are really excellent, cracker crusts, mounds of real cheese, excellent sausage, and square cut. I had a 16 incher. They have larger, smaller, thick crust and stuffed - a full menu of other goodies, too, sandwiches, 'cue, pasta, salads, and small bites. Sergio's crust is flaky, the sizable hand-pulled sausage chunks are flavorful, and the pie has spectacularly high quality cheese. You'll also notice a distinctive difference with the tomato sauce; all of their sauces are made in house, and the pizza sauce is very hearty with a full tomato flavor. Another upside with Sergio's is they charge 15-20% less than local competitors. A welcome respite.

Awesome little pizza joint. They make everything from scratch and nothing is bland. Huge portions and huge menu. Meatball is amazing. Alfredo is amazing. They nail most everything. Pretty nice staff too. Kinda of a bunch of bros. Best pizza place in the area.
(5)Lauren R.
The best deep dish Chicago pizza. The crust isn't greasy, the pepperoni is good and spicy, the sauce isn't too sweet. All homemade, nothing corporate here. Perfection!

Good value, fast service, friendly people. Thin crust pizza is great. Sauce is seasoned just right, not too sweet or tangy. When you get toppings they don't just sprinkle a few it is loaded. Sausage pizza was not greasy at all.

Was nice to go back to my hometown and have pizza this good. A huge thing is they have GREAT gluten free pizza, loved it. They don't skimp on the cheese or extra's either. Highly recommended. Gave it 5 stars because Sergio's nails what it aims to be, a great little pizza joint with kick butt food.

The kids liked it more than my husband & I did. But the value was pretty good. The sauce is thick and really tomato-y... nothing sweet, if that's what you are looking for in a pizza.

Hubby and I order from Sergios on a regular basis for over 10 years....apps, wings, salad, pizza, lasagna and eggplant have been a regular staple for those nights I'm too tired to cook and want my meal delivered. Always a very good meal, delivered on time, hot and delicious. Really, really miss their St Paddy's day corned beef pizza....we must have been one of the few who couldn't get enough of it, as they no longer offer it. Dang shame!!! Unfortunately over the past year we've noticed a huge sodium surge in the food (perhaps we are just noticing that?), occasional mistakes in our order (nothing too major, but a missing topping or the wrong dressing is a huge bummer). and a general lessening of quality. The other night we placed our oder to be picked up and had a rather arduous discussion with the young lady who took the order (to make certain she had the order correct.) The final results were extremely disappointing. We were ready for the sodium explosion to our pizza, but not a cold pizza (picked it up on time and the drive home is not 5 minutes) that was also missing the extra sauce (not only was there not extra, there was NONE) and toppings were not exactly correct. It was horrible. Not sure if we will be giving Sergio's another try or be looking for a new local pizza joint to satisfy our cravings.

DO NOT GO HERE. Health code violation, bug in pizza, and extremely rude & disrespectful owner. I am writing about what happend in regards to my Sergio's order and experience in early July of 2014. I ordered a large pizza with sausage for a family gathering in Barrington, IL. About half way through eating a slice, I noticed that there was a dead "shell" of what appears to be a cockroach or similar insect. Upon further inspection, I confirmed that there was, in fact, a cockroach in the pizza that I ordered. Disgusting. My friends have already spread word of this incident and warned our fellow friends and family members in the Barrington, IL area to avoid Sergio's Pizza. I will never order from these people again, and I encourage others to AVOID this place in the future. UPDATE 9/5/2014: The photos of the cockroach that I submitted on Yelp were deleted by the owner, which is CLEAR EVIDENCE which suggests that the owner knew about the incident all along, but is trying to cover it up! It is funny seeing an owner trying to save his reputation, but failing in the process! So who is the clueless one? The owner, obviously! UPDATE 8/16/2014: On 8/3/2014 I received a nasty and disrespectful comment reply from the owner of Sergio's, Tony Dioguardi, who is appearently blaming me of "lying" and "getting back" at them in this review. I do not respond well to such heartless and inconsiderate behavior, especially from the owner of the restaurant. I'd like to view this "dialogue" as a clear indication that Tony is trying to "cover up" this unfortunate turn of events for his business, in a desperate attempt to protect his reputation. HERE IS THE COMMENT FROM THE OWNER: """"""""""""""""Since my restaurant doesn't have any cockroaches in it I find it hard to believe you got a pizza from us that had one in it. Baked in the cheese, nonetheless. Which means in all the white cheese which we put on by hand, there was (in your own words) a LARGE cockroach just sitting there waiting to be put on a pizza. Of course it had to be dead, because I;m sure if you or I picked up a large cockroach and tried to put him on a pizza he's surely try to get away. So we have this LARGE BROWN DEAD cockroach just laying in a tray of WHITE cheese and 1) No one sees him AND 2) Someone picks him up and sprinkles him onto the pizza with the cheese, totally oblivious to his presence. Somehow Bob, I don't think so. So you CLAIM this really happened. Did you call us? I take this shit seriously and would have come out in a second to verify and if needed rectify the situation, but we received NO CALL. According to your post you send a pic of it to the Lake County Health Dept,? I've spoken with them and they have NO RECORD of anyone contacting them with ANY TYPE OF HEALTH/SANITARY ISSUES. So it seems you either forgot to contact them or you lied about contacting them, which pretty much means you lied about the whole episode. Let me paint another picture for you Bob. You or one of your friends were somehow offended by something or someone at my restaurant. You complained, we found your complaint baseless and sent you on your way. And now you're trying to get back at us. Yeah, that sounds a lot more realistic than the series of lies you have spun here."""""""""""""""" I am just outraged at how disrespectful and rude the owner of Sergio's is treating me. If you want to keep your business image and reputation clean and in good-standing, you better treat your customers with the highest respect, Anthony. It really makes your business look good by using ALL CAPS and words like "shit" and "series of lies" towards a customer. What I said in my review is 100% truthful and honest. I found a dead shell and body of a cockroach in my pizza. I took pictures of it, and I even included them in my review as SOLID EVIDENCE AND PROOF, but the owner keeps DELETING the pictures to cover up this incident! Meanwhile, the owner is repeatedly trying to claim that I am lying and trying to "cover up" this incident by editing my review, but this is farthest from the truth. I am editing my review to give more information and the specifics about this incident in a clear and concise manner, since the owner clearly doesn't believe me yet. The fact of the matter is, I am NOT returning to Sergio's either way. The staff should have accepted that fact that they had a unhappy customer and moved on. However, I am NOT OK with the owner slamming me and blaming me of "lying", when I CLEARLY stated that I am NOT returning to Sergio's. Sergio's is a very popular place in the Barrington, IL area so I doubt my review is going to do anything detrimental to their business. Chill out, kids at Sergio's. What happend to offering the customer a free pizza or an incentive? Accept the fact that you messed up, and treat your customers right. I will NOT be returning to Sergio's and I encourage others to read my review and I encourage others to AVOID this place and go somewhere e

GREAT pizza! I've eaten here many times and it's well made and perfect every time. My only wish is that they would get a bigger sign, since they moved across the street....Hard to find, but worth the effort. Me thinks "Bob," from Itasca needs to find something better to do with all the free time on his hands! :) Try it, you'll love it!

My family swears by this place. My dad simply will not get pizza from anywhere else. Their go-to order? The Sergio Special. But just call me the queen of a la carte. They eat the famous meaty pizza and I always require something more complicated sans meat. For whatever reason my order is ALWAYS messed up. And once instead of artichokes I got ANCHOVIES! BLAH! That said, be sure to reiterate any special orders.

I would not even give this place ONE star. I just did not have any other option. I just got a new job in barringtion and did not know of any good places to order food that delivers. I did my research and found Sergio's Pizza. I had read the reviews and based on those I went on their website and checked out their menu. Reviews were good so I decided to give this place a try. I called them up and the gentleman on the phone was VERY nice. I placed my order. About 10-15 mins later some weird old man come up to my door and is standing here. I go to help him open the door to find my food all over the place. The bags were ripped, the sauses were every where, the food was falling out of the bags. He told him he was sorry and that he could not find a box. Heres the part that will make your jaw drop..... HE TOLD ME WHEN HE WAS DRIVING THE SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS AND MY FOOD FEEL ON THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He then told me he will not charge me AND THAT HIM AND I ARE NOW EVEN! He put my food on one of our chairs and the sauses ruined my chairs! I was so furious, I will never ever order from this place again! Absolutely Unacceptable.

RIP Sergio. The pizzaria is still open, but Sergio is no longer with us.

I stopped in to Sergio's Pizza on my way to work about a week ago. That day I experienced the single greatest Italian Beef sandwich that I have ever had. The food was great but what really blew me away was the unbelievable Service. I've been to many "high end" restaurants and never before have I felt so well served as I did that day at Sergio's pizza. I'll tell you what, those guys managing the counter are going far in life. I will be returning to Sergio's Pizza for another Italian Beef in the future without a doubt.
