We discovered this place after walking out of "CATS" at intermission. We just could not take anymore and we needed a drink, fast. We walked to the corner and sat at this cozy little bar with a fantastic jukebox, and watched the cook behind the counter make the best damn chicken nachos I've ever had in my life! Fresh fried nacho chips, flame broiled chicken breast, three cheeses, peppers, a little creama drizzle, the works! All made right in front of you. We have been back 3 times since then. Fun crowd. Nice cold beer, comfy casual little bar, eclectic crowd and great chicken nachos. Can life get any better? (By the way; T.S.Elliot is unreadable and Andrew Lloyd Webber ruined Broadway) just say'n.

Came home one evening from a long day at work, and I was too tired to cook. Perks of living above a pub, easy access to food, so I figured why not? I'd only had their fish tacos, which are definitely worth a try. I ordered a sunny side up burger, medium rare. It was amazing. Incredibly juicy. And I'm the type of girl who loves having an egg along with her burger. It was cooked just how I like it, and I've had experiences when I'm asked how I like my meat...and it's not delivered. And boy, was that burger well delivered. Definitely come and try one of their burgers. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I stopped in, as so many others do, before a Paramount show. It's close by, just a 3 minute walk and they can get you your food quickly, if you just have an hour. For once, we went to this place without looking up reviews on Yelp (something I never do), and were duly punished. We walked in and were told "there's seats in the back". Ok. There was one table open; a tall table with 2 back-less stools. We sat down and were greeted 5 minutes later. There's really nothing special about this bar. We both had Stella ciders. Neither of us ordered appetizers. At the suggestion of the waitress, I had the fish tacos. She said it was a favorite among customers. However, these customers must not ever have fish tacos, or fish for that matter. My fish tacos were in a double tortilla. The tortilla was soggy and so soaked with liquid that it was bubbling. Only one of 3 tortillas was ok to eat. The fish was fried, but the coating was inadequate. It wasn't crispy like a fried fish should be. It was like it was stale or something. The coating slid right off and it tasted like it had been sitting for a while. My husband had the chicken tenders and said they were ok. Both of our meals came with fries, and they didn't screw those up. Those were actually decent. The meals were cheap, about $8 each. However, I would personally rather spend $4 more and go down the street to Two Brothers (their fish tacos are amazing). Thinking of walking in? Don't. Pick anywhere else.

I can't believe this is an actual establishment! Came here because everywhere else in town was booked by people who I suppose were doing the same as me and my group - going to see a play. The "food:" I thought I chose something "safe" on the limited menu -- chicken quesadillas and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were served with what I think was ketchup and not real marinara sauce. The chicken in the quesadilla was weird. Ugh, I don't want to keep talking about the crap food. The "service:" The service was absolutely horrid and extremely frustrating because the waiters kept disappearing. They don't have silverware. the waitress took my cup for a refill and never came back and when asked about it stated that they ran out of cups. Um, wtf did you do with mine?! Upon paying the bill, we decided to just send one of us up to the bar with the payment instead of waiting around for the waitress to never come back. The server did show up about five minutes later and asked about the bill. We told her we were taking care of it up front, to which she thanked us and walked away. When our friend returned, she asked if one of the servers asked us about the bill, we said yes. Well, apparently the girl that came to the table and asked us about the bill went up to one of the girls and told them they we refused to pay!! Um, what?! I'm done with this place and this review. You get the picture. Stay away!

came here for a quick bite to eat before heading down the street to watch Mary Poppins at the Paramount Theatre. My friend and I just shared a couple appetizers. We had the jalepeno poppers and onion rings. Pretty hard to mess up either of these since it's just fried but it wasn't anything spectacular.

The negative remarks and ratings from wealthy suburbanites use t massive structures and corporate places makes me laugh. This is a great independent gem in a awesome urban setting of downtown Aurora. Perhaps people who attend plays shouldn't come in here but this place has decent priced food in a non-pretentious atmosphere. The food is awesome and like I said the criticism of this place is mainly due to the fact that many suburbanites forget that places were actually small at one time and the grill was located up close for a personal experience. These people just hate mom and pop places and why there are so few in this day in age.

UGH, this place is AWFUL! No backs on their stools, seedy characters, and food cooked behind the bar on a dirty grill. NO THANKS!!!!!

Awesome food! Fish tacos, wings, and burgers. During the week they have karaoke which is always a good time. On the weekends they have DJs playing everything. Check it out

This place is a ghetto ass, coke-bar shithole that I had the misfortune of walking in to ONE time. And that's gonna be the only time. Now I like rap music, and I know all about juking and whatnot, but there's nothing but trash that goes to this bar. People dancing like they might as well just be getting in it. The night I was there there was some nasty trannies there looking like fools. There's nothing wrong with trannies/gays/whatever, but these ones were busted. Dudes just sit around and stare at you. I don't like to be stared at. I don't think anyone in the A does. Either say something or look at something else. The bartender girl was nice, but that ain't enough to make me come back. One of my friends told me they came there and some slut was blowing some guy outside in a doorway with her man sitting inside. Damn whores!

After a 15 minute wait, which included two trips to the bar to see if someone would honor us with their order-taking presence, we were told we would not be able to get food in time for a Paramount Theater production. Apparently an hour and ten minutes is not sufficient prep time for this place. Never going back.

NEVER going back again - bad service, bad food, mediocre drinks. Four of us popped in for a bite to eat before a Paramount show. Terribly slow service was due to the fact that the waitresses were not only taking orders, but working the bar and cooking the food. Poor ventilation over the grill made a smoky haze over the whole room. Had wine in a dirty glass, ate with cocktail napkins and had a burnt hamburger after they asked me how I wanted it cooked. Had to ask for full size napkins, silverware, ice water, you name it. This place really needs to be coached by Restaurant Impossible, Bar Rescue or some other food network coach.

Ain't nothin but a gangsta partyyy. I went here last night to support a friend that was hosting a party. We paid $5 upon entrance which is whatever, I mean $5 is reasonable if there's a DJ or something and my bf paid so I didn't care. I work really close to this bar but since the only thing I want to do when I get off is go far, far away from Atown, I had never been inside. It's tiny, the bar itself is also small and they offer a minimal selection of booze (I think they had Grey Goose but no Effen/Belve etc). Seems a lot of people were ordering their "Midtown Mixers" which are basically long islands, but pink. Decent selection but I wouldn't go here looking for a craft brew or martini that will knock your socks off..it's just not that kinda partay. What kind of party is it, you ask? Refer to line one. This place is in the heart of Atown, and there is some priiiime people watching to be done here. I'd have to put this up in my top ten places where I've witnessed filthy drunken behavior. It's amazing how ridic people will get when you give em a lil of the sauce and throw on some hip hop or house music. Between the sixty year old man missing teeth and wearing a suit gyrating all on the floor and shaking it up on some ladies young enough to be his daughters and this chick that needed to not be wearing control top nylons with a skirt so short, I saw some things. Maybe things I'm not happy I saw, but I didn't even drink and I was entertained for the entirety of my time there. The staff all seemed really nice, and the bouncers actually looked like they could kick someones ass. I'd return since the music was great and I met a lot of nice people.

The food at Midtown Pub is fantastic... they have a great selection of burgers - the tequila burger is tasty! I had mango habanero wings last night, which actually motivated me to write this review. They are good size, and the mangos & habaneros make for a great sweet/spicy mix. The bartenders are very friendly, and the music at night is top notch. I might catch some football games at Midtown this afternoon. One of the best spots in Aurora!

I used to live a couple blocks from this place. It is a great mix of sports bar, dance club and dive bar. They have a pretty wide variety of customers that come in and you can usually meet someone interesting. The food is great, they have a really good cook. The menu is mostly bar food but does have some higher end items as well. I would recommend the nachos. They have good prices, especially compared with Ballydoyle across the street. All the bartenders are pretty cool and nice.

My last review for this bar was anything but positive. Aside from the wonderful staff, I had nothing nice to say. However, Midtown has redeemed themselves in my book and they are alright with me. They have improved their security so there aren't anymore fights or any serious altercations. The staff continues to be extremely wonderful, but that has never changed. They are always awesome and friendly. The more I come here, the more it grows on me. I have tried some of the food and it tastes better than the average bar food. Its actually really good and they have really great prices on them. It's better to come here during the week because it's not as crowded as it is on weekends. Overall, this is a nice local bar to go to and have a couple of drinks with friends or catch one of the live hip hop shows they sometimes host.

I visited Midtown Pub before a show at the Paramount. I was surprised to find it very busy as it was early in the evening. Had the chicken nachos with a cold Stella, my wife had a cheese burger. Must say the nachos were excellent and the best I've had by far. Burger was good according to my wife. Decor is interesting with random team flags and Mardi Gras stuff but overall the place is clean. Service was good considering how busy they were. We stopped in after the show and the place was packed. Mainly a younger crowd but we never felt uncomfortable. Overall a very good experience and will definitely be back to try the burgers.
