Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This is a great take out Taco Place!! Excellent Steak burritos and we love the Chicken Tacos! Service is friendly and speedy! If you don't feel like cooking some night.....stop by. This place isn't fancy but the food is solid...great Mexican Food. It is also more affordable than Chipotle. The Pork Pasteur Taco's were also very good.

The restaurant La Palapa is no longer. It is now called Taqusria la Esperanza. The new place is great. Make sure you read my review. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

This place is decent, but not ranked highly amongst the many other taqueria type establishments in the Aurora area. They've changed hands several times, but the food seems to remain the same. It is consistent, so however you feel about it the first time will likely be how you feel about it the next. The portions are very average sized, maybe a little smaller for Mexican taquerias. The Al Pastor is decent, as is the chicken. The burritos are what I would call "medium" sized. Probably fine for most appetites, probably not enough for the larger appetite.

Front is clean. Pretty quiet. Little slow on ordering. Staff seemed new but friendly and accommodating. Food seemed to need a little salt. Tasted fresh. Ordered the combo taco, chili rellano and tamale which were pretty good. Carne asada in corn tortillas was a little bland, needed cilantro and onion. Pork tamale was decent, already husked. Rellano a little greasy but still tasty. Came with rice and beans. Tortilla chips seemed home made and salsa needed something. All and all, I'd go back to see if improvements were made.

Not that great, the food is too greasy and flavorless I've given it a few chances but it just doesn't cut the salsa. The prices are a bit high , but not terrible for mexican food, but that's for decent mexican food. There are approximately 800 other mexican places in Aurora to go to and most of them I've been to are better than this place. I'd skip it. The lady at the front desk was nice though.

For some reason, I am VERY picky when it comes to Mexican food. I find myself leaving hungry and wishing I ordered something different. La Palapa was okay. I had the chicken tacos which were fine, my husband had the steak tacos which he RAVES about. We ordered our food to-go, and I was disturbed by the fact that the young girl (teenager) packing our food up had to do so one-handed because she was eating an ice cream cone! Hello, health department!

The food was great. I had a steak burrito, and my 2 coworkers each had beef fajitas. They wanted chicken, but they were out of chicken. We waited about 20 min to get our orders, and we were the only customers. Our orders didn't come out at the same time. Each order came out about 2-3 min apart, and mine was last.

Ok place, we go here every couple weeks. Very hit or miss in how good it is. I think it depends who's cooking. Burrito or chimichanga is a solid option.

Got an al pastor burrito dinner, which was solid, had quite of meat and cheese ingredients. The guy there recommended the steak torta when I asked him what he liked, and it wasn't bad either, steak had a good slight seasoned taste to it. The horchata was average, not bad or anything, I've had better and had worse. The hot sauce reminded me of a tex-mex style as the intensity was mild and had a chili spice taste to it. Service wasn't bad, but the guy seemed skiddish kept verifying the order to me, when all I ordered were 2 dishes and a drink. Not a bad place, but overall, I've had better in Aurora.

Living in Aurora, I have a large selection of Mexican cuisine. Out of all the taco joints in the area, I have to say La Palapa is my favorite!!!AMAZING!! La Torta rocks to! I heard its the same owner. I would highly recommend the steak! I usually drown my mexican food in sour cream or salsa. The steak has such a great taste no need to add any extra flavoring High quality of meat and Im picky. Food is made fresh everytime! The staff is very friendly!

My husband went over to La Palapa recently to resolve a guacamole craving we were all having. My neighbor has raved about this restaurant for some time, so we thought we'd try them out. In addition to getting guac, he also came home w/ some steak tacos. First, the tacos are excellent. The meat was perfectly done, and the red and green salsa you can add on top tasted great. My husband said he got two tacos for something around $2.50 which is not bad. However, the guac was a bit of a ripoff and is why I'm marking them down to 3 stars. We've gotten an entire container full of guac at a competing Hispanic restaurant for a fairly reasonable price. La Palapa puts one scoop of guac into a square Styrofoam container and charges the same price. You get maybe 4 chips worth of guac before it's gone. I could not believe the container when I opened it and saw there was merely a spoonful inside for the price we pay elsewhere for an entire container full. Plus, we had to pay extra for the bag of chips and only needed a few of the chips that they supplied in the bag considering how little guac they gave. It was really disappointing since guacamole was the purpose of the visit and I had to fend my husband off, so I could get the most (lol). I'm hoping it was just an over-site there. We'll probably try it one more time - if not for the guac, then surely for the tacos. However, buyer beware when it comes to guacamole. Make sure you're actually getting a full container - otherwise, don't plan on sharing it.

When you are good at something, don't change a thing! Now they're serving hot dogs & burgers & the menu of mexican items is serverly downsized. My tacos today were ok, but my gordita was awesome! Had a unsual quesadilla made of the thick masa that makes up the gorditas. It was not your usual tortilla-still kind worked though.

Found this place today with some friends. It is very delicious food and authentic. Decor was very cute and welcoming staff made it that much more special. I have eaten at serveral mexican restaurants in the area and this one is the best. Prices were very cheap and you get large portions. I will definetly come back again and again.
