Good golly miss molly what a place. If you are sick to death of corporate food then this can be your Valhalla. I've had most of the items on the menu and all were well cooked and delicious. Want the best root beer ever? They have it. This is fast food that I grew up with fresh cooked to order. Nothing low fat or diet here as it should be. The staff are friendly and helpful. Next time your tempted to have a Mc crap burger come here instead you won't regret it.

Hot dog was ok. Asked for Chicago style got no celery salt, soggy bun, no poppy, sad pickle. Won't hurry back.

I can't believe I have lived in my house for 8 years and never got the chance to try this place out till recently. Hidden on Hill ave the doggie dinner is a falsh back to the drive in days. This place is the real deal including curb side service. For lunch I went with the hot dog and fries. They don't skimp on the fries eitrher. They give you a giant bag of great fresh fries that are perfectly seasoned. While I have had better hot dogs the hot dog was also quite good here. My only complaint is they don't have air conditioning so if you go planning to dine in on a hot day you are going to boil. I look forward to my next visit and getting a chance to try the burger. Great to have a place like this so close to home.

My business and I frequent this facility. I personally have tried almost everything on the menu. Rarely am I ever disappointed. We enjoy spending our money with this restaurant not only because we enjoy the food and atmosphere but because we like to keep places like this alive. The manager of this facility works hard, knows her stuff and always takes great care of us. Visit this place without hesitation, try their soft serve and root beer!

Awesome chili dogs and Homemade Root Beer. It's not on the main strip, but so worth driving to. Not from from Phillips Park Golf Course and Aurora Zoo.

The food was OK, but when they forgot to put cheese on my cheeseburger one of the lady's working there picked up a cheese with her bare hands and gave it to me over the counter. Never went back (this happened a while ago) Super cute place though, I enjoyed the old school decor and drive in look.

Doggie Diner is a cute place in a not so cute location, directly across the street from a dilapidated trailer park. For the longest time, we thought this place was closed because we never saw anyone here! There is seating outside, seating inside, or they'll deliver your food to your car with a tray. The chicken gyro and cheese fries were good. The portion of chicken on the pita was small though. I also ordered a root beer in a frosty mug, tempted by the boasting advertisements about their homemade root beer. I wasn't impressed with the root beer; it needed more carbonation and a better bite. It was basically flat A&W. The mozzarella sticks are perfect. They're cooked in fresh oil at the exact right temperature. We bit into these, and the cheese was still melty and stringy without a trace of oil, and the cheese stuck to the breading. My dad really liked the marinara sauce too, but I wasn't crazy about that. My husband ordered a chili cheese dog, but the cheese was a slice of American cheese plopped on instead of a melty, liquid cheese. He said it tasted better than he expected. This Doggie Diner is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. The location is cute, the food is inexpensive, and the service was really friendly. It's a good choice for simple foods like a hot dog and fries.

Ive been to one of the OTHER doggie diners in Woodridge and Bolingbrook. This by far is the best. Home made root beer, and a fantastic gyro was my doggie diner experience. We sat outside and were served by a very nice young lady. I came away feeling very happy to know that there is a quality gyro place in my area. I will be back to try the pork chop sandwich and a root beer float.

Really enjoyed eating here. A blast from the past. Having moved from California I hoped to find places just like this- real Americana. Good food at great prices. Had the patty melt twice and the two hotdog special on their sign. Whenever I drive past the location I have the strong urge to pull over and try something new- but I'm stuck on the patty melts! Anyone who has lived in California long enough would really appreciate the Doggie Diner as well as this great state. I came to find a home. Places like Doggie Diner make this place feel like home.

They have really good Hot dogs, and fries! Reminds me of the hot dog's I grew up with living in Chicago. Old time hot dog stands. This place is right on! Could be a cleaner ....

Doggie Diner is a cute, 50's style drive-in joint. If you're not familiar with the area, it's easy to drive past it like I did, drive by again and question if they're open, and finally drive by a third time and park. Once I made my way inside, I noticed that much like the outdated exterior, the interior could certainly use a good cleaning and coat of paint. But that would certainly detract from the nostalgic factor. Like Dan B. said, it's like you stepped back in time when you set foot inside. They have quite a bit to choose from as far as the menu goes, but on this visit I just opted for a 'dog with everything and fries. The lady who took my order was super friendly, which was a plus. The downside is that it was only her and the cook working, and the guy in front of me had placed eight separate orders (must have been a work lunch run I'm guessing) so it took nearly fifteen minutes to get just one hot dog and a small order of fries. At least I wasn't in a hurry. Back at my car, I first nibbled some fries. They were piping hot and had some kind of seasoning on them, which gave them brilliant flavor. They were definitely some of the best fries I've had in a long time. The hot dog on the other hand wasn't anything special. Not the best, and not the worst one I've had, but it was tasty. All the condiments could be detected, except the mustard, which was applied sparsely and mostly near one end of the hot dog. Everything else was good, but I found the tomatoes to be overly ripe, so I peeled 'em off and continued to chow down. Doggie Diner was certainly a fun place to experience, with all the dated decor and such. I'm not sure that I'd go out of my way to eat here, but if I was in the area, I certainly wouldn't mind stopping again.

This place is cool. Its pretty cheap which is good, and the food isn't bad. Its nothing I crave. The inside needs to be updated because the windows fog up really bad and gets stuffy inside when they are cooking. We usually get pizza puff and fries and my husband gets italian beef which is ok. The give you a bunch of fries. You get a bang for your buck.

Cute place, good food, fast and cheap! This restaurant looks like a 50's style diner and has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a list of daily special posted on the window. There were tons of items to choose from on the menu - sandwiches, gyros, burgers, corn dogs, wings, ice cream, and the list goes on. I came for the Wednesday $3.75 Italian Beef sandwich special and was not disappointed. It was packed full of thinly sliced beef and very tasty! I also enjoyed the fried mushrooms and the pizza puff. The pizza puff was deep fried to perfection! Daily Specials Monday - $2.25 Cheeseburger Tuesday - $3.30 Gyro Wednesday - $3.75 Italian Beef Thursday - $3.30 Texas Burger (double patty with cheese, and top secret recipe sauce) Friday - $2.75 Pork Tenderloins Other locations include Hinsdale, Plainfield, Woodridge, Bolingbrook and Romeoville.

There have been a number of places I've reviewed throughout Chicagoland called Doggie Diner. They all seem to be unrelated and they all seem to have different menu's, aesthetic schemes and ways of making food. When a friend of mine suggested I head out to Aurora to visit yet another eatery going by the name of Doggie Diner I was at first a bit skeptical, but soon we were off on our way to visit. This particular Doggie Diner is noteworthy for a few reasons. First and foremost is it has the design of a 1950's carhop drive-in restaurant. I strongly suspect that this location was once a "Dog N Suds" at some point in its past. Right outside the restaurant they even try to play up this 1950s theme with an Arthur Fonzarelli looking cardboard cut-out. The inside has old clearly 1950s or early 1960s vintage seats. The tables and other fixtures inside have the same feeling. The overall atmosphere is that you've stepped back in time. I'm not sure if they still have drive-up service. But they do have a large number of tables set up outside as well if you choose to eat there under a covered section inbetween parking spots. In visiting this particular Doggie Diner I decided to try a hot dog. With it I also got fries and a drink. It's worth noting that they serve Green River soda here, this is always a plus. The hot dog I received came on a regular, non-poppy seed bun. There was a thin pickle slice and two thick tomato slices on top. The application of mustard, relish and onions was fine. There was no celery salt that I could detect, nor were any sport peppers served with this dog. The sausage itself was skinless, and was well heated. Overall this was a slightly above average hot dog. The fries included here were thin shoe-string fries with some other seasoning (possibly pepper). These were brilliantly executed, they had a good amount of potato paste, were nice and crisp and weren't too salty or too greasy. I was very impressed. Overall this is the best of the places I've visited called Doggie Diner in terms of both food quality and in terms of being an interesting place to visit. I'd say it had above average food with a great atmosphere. I am going to give this particular Doggie Diner four stars.

Very solid food stand I've had the burgers, beef, wings, malts, and most of their fried apps. We went Groupon crazy there and just stocked up like Turkish slaves Very solid, you won't leave disappointed in the slightest

A cute little diner that sells hotdogs & fries for cheap. They are quick & very nice. We had a living social deal and got 2 hotdogs, 2 fries & 2 drinks for $6. However, I noticed on the sign that they usually have 2 hotdogs, 1 fry & 1 drink for $5, so the savings weren't huge, but it was nice to try something that we usually don't go for. We will probably go back, on a day when it's not raining and can enjoy the picnic tables!

Don't you miss those old time drive in carhop restaurants from the '50s '60s and '70s? Well take a step back in time and try Doggie Diner . It has all your old time faves . Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Corn dogs and even a Fried Pork Tenderloin almost the size of your head. If you add fries to your order be ready to share because a whole basket of fries is the small order. The carhops get your order and a few minutes later its time to fill up. Be sure to order Root Beer in the frosty mug its delicious!!!

My wife and I each had the gyros. The gyros were filling. I found mine to be a little greasy. I think that may go with the particular food item. The service was excellent. There were a bunch of 50 and 60's cars there.

I love the fresh root beer here in frosty cold mugs. I've had their burgers, coney-style dogs, fries, onion rings & malts. All are awesome! The coney sauce is bar-b-que flavored, and generous. I've never tried the Cowboy Burger, but will eventually. Yum!
