Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I would have to agree with one of the comments below about some of these are the same. However today my fiancé and I decided to dine here for lunch. We each got the buy one take one home and got a sampler appetizer with gnocchi soup. First let me say normally in this order it always seems like food it rushed out (which I suppose doesn't bother me I understand the chef needs to be quick to make orders and send them out). Anyway our server was Luis and the GM was Ashley. Luis was probably one of the best servers I've seen. Very friendly and not unnecessarily chatty. But he dropped off our appetizer sampler and ASKED us "let me know when you would like me to bring the soup" and even smiled. I HAVE A CHOICE? YAY! Our soup with bread sticks came 10 seconds after our appetizer was finished. Our drinks were never empty longer than 20 seconds. And our server was ALWAYS near by (I see some servers at other places take frequent smoke breaks or texting on their phone). Food was delicious and hot and fresh. I had the cavatappi with asiago garlic alfredo (I loved it!). My fiancé had prosciutto tortellini alfredo (which I tried a bite of, was also delicious).

I always have some kind of problem when I come to this restaurant. Twice now my buzzer hasn't worked. After waiting double the time we were told and watching two couples get seated who checked in after us... I finally went up to investigate. Only to be asked by 5 different people if the buzzer vibrated or lit up! Then the main front desk person (out of the 5 standing there) says "oh that's the broken one". No apologizes... I'm glad my boyfriend said something to the manager about the wait because we got a free appetizer. I did think it was rude that the manager said he would be back to take our order for the appetizer and never came back...not even to check how things were. Good thing it was free, the Smoked Mozzarella Fonduta was absolutely terrible. I ordered the Tour di Mane (a mix of three shrimp dishes- shrimp calamari, ravioli and shrimp pasta). It was absolutely delicious. My partner got the Five Cheese Ziti; you can never go wrong with this, plus it was on the buy one, get one menu. It's pumpkin season so I had to get the pumpkin cheesecake (as if all the cheese I just finished eating wasn't bad enough). It is topped with whipped cream, caramel and ginger bread cookie crumbs. Very sweet so I could only eat it in increments, but delicious none-the-less. Of course my favorite is the Roscato wine; pairs nice with any dish (or maybe I just tell myself that so I have a reason to have a cup). Service: Good Food Quality: Great (minus that appetizer) Wait time: Extra long especially on weekends (only parties of 6 or more can make reservations)

I regret giving this place another chance...... Portillos pasta is better then this dump!

We have nice service - by Nabil A, but I have to gave 2 stars only, Food was soso, drinks were great especially tropical sangria. I ordered Capellini di Mare but there was more pasta than Shrimp, clams and mussels, ha a lot of shells, barely I found some sea meet. And wo stars why - because i is italian restaurant and I ordered espresso, and yes it was in small cup - and it was all related with espresso. it was look like my office caffe from drain machine, taste ok but no foam at all, and visiting italian restaurant I except great espresso, and I was very very disappointed.

Great Italian food. The very first time I been there I love this place immediately. The house salad is very large and refillable, good for same group to share. I recommend this restaurant.

What's there to say, this place hasn't changed in the last 15 years...

I am a fan of Oliven Garden, I think they have great food. It's decently priced, and although it isn't authentic Italian, it's pretty delicious. This Olive Garden has great service, everyone who works there is very friendly, and the food is worth the price you pay. We got in quickly, and our server was wonderful. I would definitely come back again.
(4)Erin B.
I'm not going to the Olive Garden again. We were under the impression that it would be an inexpensive meal. But the food quality is worth at most $9 an entree, and we're paying $17. The breadsticks are bad, super-salty. The salad is the best part of the meal, but really, there's not much to it. Everything else seems like a high-end microwave meal. The staff was friendly, but our waiter left (shift over) half way through our meal and we were wondering what was going on. There are wonderful local italian establishments who are dying to get customers who charge less then OG. Their food is fresh, not frozen and heated up. Not sure why OG's everywhere are packed every weekend. Maybe it's good advertising, leading people to believe they're eating for less.

I came here on a Sunday with a friend for lunch ...I used to like the soup and salad for $6.95 deal..it's still a good deal...but the quality has gone down a notch... :( .. Food: Soups: I'm not sure if it's just this location or if it's Olive Garden in general...the soups all tasted bleh and were VERY VERY watery...definitely not recommended House Salad: tasted ok... Pasta: I tried their pasta towards the end of the year last year with my friend and we both were not pleased with our meals...everything tasted the same.. or tasted bland... I'm not sure what happened because I used to really enjoy their soups and salad..but the quality went down a lot!... Costs: they've been having a lot of good deals for food.. like the soup & salad for $6.95 and 2 entrees for $25.00.. maybe it is due to the quality downgrade.. Customer Service: our server was nice and attentive... Parking: plenty of parking.. but on Sundays for lunch.. it gets really packed so parking may be limited or you might just need to walk a little. I don't think I'll be coming here again for soup & salad..soo sad.. i used to like Olive Garden!

I really wanted to like this place but the food was simply not good enough for me to recommend. The biggest plus of this restaurant is really the decor and style. From the outside it almost seems like you're entering a fine Italian garden where you are greeted with a nice spacious foyer upon entry. The rest of the restaurant has lots of decorations and details that make you feel like you're in an upscale restaurant. This feeling continues with nicely printed menus, nice glasses and cups for drinks, and nice heavy plates. The problem really comes when the food arrives. Besides freshly baked breadsticks, the food isn't impressive at all. The soups are a bit on the thin side with a lack of vegetables, pasta, or meat to provide bulk. The zuppa toscana lacked creaminess for me, minestone was too salty, pasta e fagioli had too many beans and not enough beef, and chicken & gnocchi was a bit flavorless. They all seemed a little on the oily side, indicating that there was no effort to remove the top layer of fat from the soup. The five cheese marinara with shrimp had small shrimp and was quite dry. The asiago and roasted garlic tortellini with grilled sausage had giant chunks of tomato that were relatively sour and was also dry. The shrimp primavera had small shrimp as well and was less dry but the peppers and mushrooms were a bit overcooked so they lacked the bouncy texture that is enjoyable in this type of pasta. Rather than getting a feeling of a spring-time dish from it, I felt it was more less a messy mix of different ingredients. The spaghetti with four cheese meat sauce looked like plain spaghetti with pasta sauce thrown on top and a handful of four types of cheeses randomly mixed together. The flavor was unimpressive as well. The dolcini desserts were not too bad although a little on the sweet side. Chocolate Mousse with Dark Chocolate Cookie Crust was pretty similar tasting to a chocolate cake. Strawberry & White Chocolate Cream Cake was decent but not everyone will like the taste of white chocolate. Amaretto Tiramisu with Almond had a good flavor of amaretto and almond but really lacked body. For the price paid I'm not sure the trip was totally worth it. I've eaten at some "home style" restaurants with better presentation and flavor than these dishes. Even if the flavor wasn't up to par, I at least expected better ingredients for the price. The Chicagoland area is pretty competitive for Italian food and I feel choices like Biaggi's, Maggiano's, or Moretti's are a better value.
(2)Me T.
The quality of the food has changed. The sauces are watered down. The Zuppa soup has little no kale, the gnocchi soup has NO gnocchi at all just huge hunks of very dark chicken. The salad had hunks of old brown lettuce. The wait staff is ok. However, it is very difficult to communicate with them do to the language barrier. When the waiter has to ask another person to help him underatand their English customers it becomes a bit of a hassle. The floor was dirty and the table was sticky. Will not go back.

Not a OG fan like I used to be, but we came here for family birthday celebration dinner. All the locations are basically the same. The last few times Ive been to the OG, the food experience wasn't the greatest. The hubby and I ordered soup to be on the safe side, which wasnt too shabby. We had a group of 9, so they gave us two servers for whatever reason, and they were horrible. All they had to do was handle 4/5 of us each and they still messed up! A little salty that gratuity was added to our bill when we had two servers and they each had their own little group. I personally would have liked to have taken a percentage off my servers gratuity, but oh well...
(2)Amanda D.
Really great service! Bobby the manager really cares about his customers and makes the whole experience better! Great drink specials too! Our family enjoys this location more then the Vernon Hills one.
(4)Jim O.
Yes, this is a chain, but the food is consistently good. Wait staff is always attentive and friendly. Salad is especially good, and always fresh every visit.

I've been visiting Olive Garden (various locations) for 17 years now, and the food has always been fabulous. We visit this location quite often. On my recent visit Thursday, we arrived for a late lunch. There was one server for a few sections as they were in-between shifts, and he worked diligently to make sure all his tables were cared for. My husband wanted a certain beer but the server notified him that it had been taken off the menu. The manager heard about his request and went above and beyond and located a few of the beers for him anyway! He personally brought the beer to our table. We ordered drinks and calamari in addition to a meal. After our calamari, a different manager brought out our meals, skipping our salad course! We told him of the mishap, and he graciously apologized and assured us that we would be brought fresh dishes after we had our salad. It was so refreshing that his reaction was so professional and was not tainted with a sour attitude at all. Our main courses came out, (salmon bruchetta and fettuchini alfredo,) and it was hot and fresh, definitely not kept in a warmer. We had a wonderful experience at Olive Garden, and the server and both managers definitely went out of their way to insure that we enjoyed our time there.
(5)Mallory S.
Why are people knocking this place? Olive Garden had really stepped it up as a whole and their food is good!!! I've never ever had a problem here and the decor is actually pretty nice
(4)Kristen M.
Love the soup and breadstick deal! Fills me up and unlimited!
(5)Mary D.
Something has happened at this location and it's not good! We eat here often and have for years. Always pretty consistent and service is good. Lately......not so much. We were there Sat about 4. Had to wait for a table, okay no biggie, although there were plenty of empty tables. Oh well, could be a shift change. Our waiter took a long time to get us our drinks, water, tea and then there were long intervals when he disappeared. Not blaming him, I think they don't have enough staff. When we left about an hour and a half later, tons of empty tables, but loads of people waiting up front. New management? Not enough staff and the food is not quite as good either. Cheaping out? This is the 2nd time that we have noticed this, along with dirty tables, not such good service and food quality that is going downhill, not sure if we will be back. Too bad, used to like it here.
(2)Caroline M.
As far as Olive Gardens go, this one is pretty good. I mean, it's an olive garden, so you shouldn't be expecting that much. The parking lot is a little odd getting into. The service was quick. Olive Garden is basically an overhyped overpriced TGI Friday's with Italian food. It was $48 for 2 entrees, 2 drinks and a dessert not including tip. Really, an Olive Garden shouldn"t be that expensive.
(3)Amanda L.
They just remodeled this Olive Garden, it looks really nice inside (although I always thought it was clean, just a bit outdated). The service is good, the food is good. Nothing to write home about, although perhaps their lemon cake is...I do have a soft spot for lemon cake...
(3)Danielle S.
For an Olive Garden, this location is great. It's always packed, and the food is consistently good. I have been to this location 20+ times (probably more like 30+) in the last 15 years, and I don't think I've ever been disappointed in the food or service. The parking lot is also a little small, but there's a huge lot across an internal-shopping-center-street so you can always park there if need be. The only pain in the butt is the wait, which tends to occur on the weekends, but as lon as you're prepared, it's not a problem. Plus, they have a bar. Go get yourself a glass of wine.
(4)Mehul P.
They have decent food. I feel that they can be quicker on their service. Alfrado with brocoli and asparagus is delicious. Its a convenient location. Not too far from my house. My kids enjoy going to this place as well.
(4)P C.
I've been to many restaurants. Olive Garden is one of the many that I have been to. The location of this specific location is a little hidden. It shares an entry drive way and parking lot with a run down strip mall and Chili's. Not very appealing. But it seems that on a Saturday the location of this place did not matter because the wait for us was 20-25 minutes. 20 minutes on the dot, our buzzer went off. We had a very courteous server. Everything was ordered right. I had no issues with my ordering. Just an fyi...If you think you can go there and order the endless pasta and share it with someone or have 2 kids share it then you're wrong. They will let you share it, yeah, but consider that the end of your endless 9.99 pasta. It was clean, the staff were professional, the bathrooms were tidy and clean, our food was hot-to-warm. My kids were happy and full after we left. I give 3 stars because the food is eh. I had the shrimp and chicken carbonara pasta. And I have to say it was not worth 18 bucks. I didn't get a good selection of chicken and shrimp to fill my plate. It seems that I was cheaped out of my meal. I think I could've made this meal myself for cheaper.
(3)Erica P.
Always great service, great prices and good food! Unlimited breadsticks, soup and salad, what more can you ask for?! I'm a regular here!
(5)J J.
I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and our bill was about $50.00 for 2 entrees, with the tip. And, we only had water to drink, no appetizers....nothing but 2 entrees. It was a total rip-off and way over-priced, especially for a lunch portion. My chicken with a tiny bit of crab on top was like $20.00. This was for lunch too, so it was a lunch serving size. No excuse for this...I will not be going to Olive Garden anymore. I used to love Olive Garden, but I'm smarter now and I know that there are a million places I can go for lunch, for a fraction of the price and that taste much better too. you simply do not get what you pay for here.
(1)Stephanie M.
I came in last night with a friend for dinner, but had to catch a movie 30 minutes after we sat down. The waiter Manuel came over and got us set up and took our drink order. Then the manager Remoun, came to take our dinner order to help out our server. At that time I told them that we were kinda rushed due to the movie we where seeing, and he was great about it!!! Remoun took are order right there and said he would have the check on the table at 920 and he did!! Everything was amazing, I'm a server myself and I'm very judgemental when it comes to other servers. But they really gave me one of the best experience I've had at a restaurant in a long time!!! The food was always wonderful too of course. I ordered the chicken and crab dish, yummy!! My friend had the chicken parmesan! I look forward to returning a lot sooner then I typically do!!! Thank you Manuel and Remoun, your the best!! :-):-)
(5)Taylor M.
I think Olive Garden is way overpriced for imitation Italian food. You could get better at an authentic Italian restaurant for less money. I really cannot understand why people go here for anything other than the all you can eat soup and salad at lunch for $6.95 or the all you can eat pasta special for $8.95. The specials don't make the quality any better, but it does make it less expensive! When I went last week, I had the all you can eat soup and salad for lunch and I was shocked by how much salt they can pack in. I could not stop drinking water! Too add to the shock of increased sodium intake, I had a vacant waitress who disappeared after our first order and had to find someone else to bring us water. To sum it up Olive Garden= High Salt, Poor quality and terrible service.

Let me preface my review by saying - I fully know that, no matter what I have to say about this location, people will not stop people from eating here. Somehow, it's always busy. Some people are suckers for chain Italian food, no matter how poor the food and service is. My wife and I decided to live up Valentine's day by going to the most cliche place we could think of to celebrate. Olive Garden was the easy choice. We even suffered through an hour wait (really, people?) The parking was/is a nightmare. The best part of the whole experience were the hosts. Friendly, accurate, and patiently-courteous to everyone who came in the door on a wild holiday evening. From teenage-blossoming romances to families of 6, the entrance and the entire restaurant were packed (makes sense for such a romantic location on such a romantic holiday...yikes). The biggest issues were service and food quality. Our server was flaky, didn't make eye contact, took 15 minutes to bring us a water/iced tea and rarely checked on us. She asked another table if she could have his credit card before he even saw his check. I saw another server get confrontational with a 10 year old over what he ordered. "Um, I checked what I put in and you did NOT order the lasagna. So, are you going to keep this and eat it or do you want me to put in lasagna for you?" Damn...love was in the air for sure. Sure - the place was slammed. So what. What a great opportunity to show how cool and calm you can be. Just because you're busy doesn't mean you have to give me sub-par service. Or does it because you're a chain? And the food. Chain or not - the food should still taste good. Alfredo sauce is pretty easy to make (even when you're reheating it in a microwave). And when your server looks at you with concern when you order the steak medium-rare you should run...and run fast. Both failed. The effort exerted to eat my meal was a bit much. Having to tug on steak to cut it (when it's not cooked well-done) shouldn't happen. Nor should you receive a dirty look from your server when you tell her you don't want dessert. ::sigh:: Overall, disasterville. Population: me My bar was set pretty low but I always hope to be wowed. I wasn't. I won't be going back. For the same prices I can find a local, made-in-house Italian place that will take care of me and not make me feel like I'm just another table to turn before the night ends.
(2)Yordan I.
One of my favorite restaurants, I've been there many times and never got bad food or bad service. 5 Star place to eat. The bread is the best part. The moscato wine is great.
(5)Nektaria R.
It's olive garden. I'm giving extra star for my server that was super pleseant and helpful in deciding on our meal. I am not a big fan of the super carby Italian foods. She help me find something that was not so bad and more on the healthier side. The salmon on the healthier faire is good choice for those that like seafood. Not super fattening and good flavor.
(4)Mick B.
In my experience, the majority of restaurants in a chain are fundamentally the same, with only a few details to distinguish them. I feel that one of these distinguishing items is the attention and service that patrons receive from the staff. During a recent visit to the Arlington Heights Olive Garden, I feel that we received excellent service; from the first contact with the hostess to our server who offered to wrap leftovers without being prompted, I felt that we were treated as valued and appreciated customers. I felt our overall experience was as good or better than some high end restaurants that I have visited in the greater Chicago area. Tip: The Arlington Heights Olive Garden is a great choice if you have a large party- they have lots of space.

Olive Garden is the type of place you go to because it is a known quantity. The food, service, and atmosphere are generally very consistent. My wife and I went for dinner. We hadn't been to an OG in quite some time, and we were looking for a quick meal. It was a Friday night so there was a bit of a wait (10-15 minutes). Once we were seated, we were offered a taste of wine (we passed). We were ready to order as we had already decided on our meal while waiting to be seated. I ordered Chicken Gnocchi soup with salad and breadsticks and a side of alfredo sauce for breadstick dipping. My wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs and a minestrone soup. Our soup came out quickly. The gnocchi was very good. Typically there is not much chicken or dumplings in the soup, but my bowl had a substantial amount of both. Unfortunately, we sat for a while after finishing our soup before my wife's meal came out. This wouldn't be a big deal, but we didn't see our server in between when our soup was dropped off and the delivery of the spaghetti. We needed refills on our drinks and some more breadsticks. Once the spaghetti was brought to the table by some other waiter, we asked him for drink refills and bread sticks which he obliged. That was the last time we saw someone until we asked for the check. We paid in cash and didn't need change, so we got up and left. We saw our server 3x the whole meal. It was not the service I am used to at OG, but the place was very busy. Our meal was still good despite the slow service.

Have been here twice, once with an online order pickup and one other time for dinner on a Saturday night with the significant other unit. Your average Olive Garden, with varied menu (seasonal specials) and interesting drink features. They do have a heavy hand with cheese and fried foods on the menu, but there are several healthy options if you know where to look. For our Saturday night dinner we had the famous salad, I ordered a half lemonade and half iced tea (Arnold Palmer) and he ordered their berry sangria. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce, not much sauce on the spaghetti, but it was flavorful. He ordered the chicken scampi. The portions were huge so we brought leftovers home for another meal. Our waiter was a little distracted but courteous. At one point in time he brought someone else's empty plate and left it on our table. I really like the Olive Garden style since they refreshed the restaurants. Nice bright mediterranean decor, very comfortable, and overall great budget Italian experience.
(3)Dev S.
Very disappointed with the quality of food today. Will give 4 stars to our server but only 2 stars to kitchen team for their food preparation. I understand we went on a weekend and it was busy but that's no excuse for serving food not prepared to the Olive Garden standard. Our appetizer Lasagna Fritta had no sauce which is one of the main part also. Second came our Five cheese ziti. This dish literary had unflavored pasta all around the dish. Was very surprised and in fact two table down even they felt their food was not to the standard. Request to mgmt team at this location don't push kitchen team on busy nights for quick turn around.

I had not been to Olive Garden in years and my husband took me recently to this one. We had great service and the meal was acceptable. I do not blame this particular restaurant, but the company in general for a deterioration in food quality. The breadsticks were delivered hot and fresh, but tasted like garlic salt. Were they also brushed with liquid butter? Maybe. :-( There was no pleasant yeast flavor of a genuine bread, but a very unpalatable cotton ball texture after the bread had cooled. They deteriorated in quality after only two minutes. Again, this is a corporate issue, because the restaurant did their part in delivering this stuff hot and fresh. I had the gnocchi soup, which was very, very bland and tasted like it was made in a factory far away and not in the kitchen in the back. As with most chain restaurants, this is most likely the case. Again, a corporate issue. I want to add that the staff are extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us happy. We were greeted pleasantly by at least four people during our dinner. Management made sure that they took care of what they had the ability to influence.

On my way to this Olive Garden for my brother-in-law's birthday dinner last week, I was forewarned by my brother over the cell phone that the restaurant greeter had no smiles to anybody, while he and my Mom were waiting in the lobby area. I haven't been to an Olive Garden for years, since I feel that there are always long lines and long wait, the food is not that great, and the prices are not low for that level of foods...so I was preparing myself for a not that great dinner. When I arrived, all my family was there already (9 people for that dinner), it still took them a while to let us in, it was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was not full. By the way, my sisters had decided that the greeter was not unfriendly, he just didn't know how to smile. Surprisingly, we all had a great time at this dinner thanks to 2 very smart and friendly waiters! From the photos that I took, I saw the name tag of one waiter being Jorge. Unfortunately, the other one's name tag was obstructed by a couple on straws in his pocket, so I couldn't figure out his name. Anyway, they were very accommodating and bringing boxes and bags when we were thinking about asking for them! They also offered to box the leftover foods for us. They were happy to alter recipes for us, and very patient for all kinds of requests. The services made up for the not so great food. Basically, nothing came out very hot, especially the soup, and I like my food hot. The food would be more like 3 to 3 1/2 stars. Services would be 5!

"When you're here, you're family" and when you are with family, you know exactly what to expect! The OG is predictable and consistent for a night when you are feeling less adventurous in your culinary pursuits. Sure it's a bit bland but it is very filling and inexpensive. The service was excellent and our family felt well cared for
(4)D J.
Good food and speed here. Not a fan of their breadsticks in general.
(4)David L.
It's been awhile we visited OG. So many changes to menu but decided to give it a try. Food wasn't too bad. Tried the $25 special. Loved to service by Christopher. Wanted to take unfinished soup home and he brought out a fresh bowl for is to take. He was consistently on top of things, topping our drinks, breads and soups. Two thumps up for Chris.
(5)Katrina D.
This Olive Garden location is very consistent. The food is always good. I do feel like the prices have increased lately. There's something on the menu for everyone and it seems like they're always adding new items or have a deal of some kind to draw you in. Let's not forget their delicious bread sticks too!! The best! There are new small plates on the menu, which next time I will try. One con: during dinner hours my friends ordered the soup and salad. It was $10.79. For only a few dollars more, they could have gotten a whole meal in addition to their soup/salad. Just a heads up.

Have you ever been to Olive Garden? Olive Garden has everything you can imagine. It has ceaser salad, pasta{every type}and a lot of other stuff I can't even name all of them. Now let me tell you the story of when I was at Olive Garden.I finally did it I was at olive garden.I sit down and look at the menu.I tell my mom, "Mom I'm going to get my usual food{pasta and ceasar salad}.Then my food comes I am so delighted I almost scream. I eat it so fast I had 2 plates of pasta and 2 bowls of ceasar salad. It was so yummy. One thing I don't like about Olive Garden is that it takes forever for the food to come but I'm also okay with that because the food is so good.

Bad Service. Food didn't taste the same way too cold and no taste they should have more friendlier staff

The red box coupon is invalid. It doesn't give you a code, it just tells you to show an employee that you should get it for free, but obviously there are no employees at a redbox.

My husband and I preferred Olive garden for occasions to celebrate, but the chicken & gnocchi soup keeps tempting us to visit more frequently! Of all the places we've dined, Olive garden serves the softest bread sticks, fresh from the oven! Loved many of their chicken recipes, classic Lasagna and martinis, especially the chocolate martini! Wait time was never more than 20 mins.

We went there last night with our five kids. The food was served ultra fast (which is a huge bonus when entertaining kids), the staff was attentive and prompt. Portions for kids meal where a little on the small side, as my kids all ate theirs and asked for more food which is unusual, but they all loved it. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meals as well. There was a Ritz cracker under out table, and there were ants crawling on top of it. It was pretty obvious, and I did point it out to the staff, but have no idea how long it was there or if it was removed. That was kinda gross.

I normally would not bother reviewing a big chain place like this that already probably has hundreds of reviews, but I couldn't help myself after going there last night. First off, this location has the worst parking setup I have ever seen. Shared with another restaurant, 90% of the parking spaces are on the side or behind the restaurant. Not good, particularly in bad weather, but ok.....I can deal with that. Second, this has be be one of the busiest places in the area (which I would think speaks well for the place) as I went at 7:30 PM on a Tuesday night and still had a 20 minute wait for a table for 2. Finally.......since when did Olive Garden get so damn expensive. I am far from cheap, but come on! One adult and one 5 year old. I had soup and salad with an ice tea, my son had just soup with a child's drink. At the end we ordered 1 desert. The bill was $30 before tip!!!!!! This is soup/salad and nonalcoholic drinks folks!!!!! $30 isn't a big deal to me, but for what we ordered, come on! I won't speak to the quality of the food. If you have ever been to Olive Garden, you know what you get. They have had consistent taste at every location I have ever been to. It is what it is so take it or leave it. For my money..........I found a very good knock off recipe for the Olive Garden Pasta Fagioli soup on the web, and it tastes nearly identical. I will stick with this since that is my favorite thing there, and avoid actually going to OG unless I have no other choice. Here is the recipe for the soup in case any one is interested. I have made several pots of this over the past year and it is VERY good and much less expensive. It also freezes well (without the noodles of course) so that is a plus also. food.com/recipe/olive-ga…

OK, I admit I was expecting to dislike this place based on my experiences long ago and the fact that on a Monday night at 7:45 there was a fair wait! Yes, the great unwashed do come here in droves, but I felt had to evaluate it fairly based on my own experience. Aside from waiting 15-20 minutes on what should be a slow night and time, I was quite surprised how good it was. We did avail ourselves of the "Unlimited Pasta Bowl" promo because I was feeling cheap that night. Once we got seated in the nearly full dining room, our server only gently pushed the "sample the wine" pitch, then took our drink order. The service that night was really first rate and the entrees, Pasta with their Mushroom and Sun Dried Tomato sauce over Angel Hair pasta was surprisingly complex and well prepared. The starters, mine their ubiqitous salad, was fresh and nicely "accessorized". My wife prounounced her soup first rate also. Both were offered with "a little cheese on that" - perhaps a parody of the usual suburban Italian Restaurant, but it was appreciated. Service was excellent (by Javier and some helpers) and and overall this was a very pleasant experience. And, yes, it was also inexpensive (not "cheap") since we ordered lightly. I doubt I'll run into any true Foodies here, but it serves up a good evening.

Generally Speaking, i am not a fan of franchise restaurants. Olive Garden is an exception to that. I find that they produce a consistently good product, with choices that can appeal to most palates. One suggestion i would make would be to improve the quality of the lettuce in the salad. Iceburg lettuce is just inferior to a mixed variety or romaine lettuce. Usually the iced tea is quite good but this time it was watery, like it was poured over ice too long before it was served.

I was there on Sunday lunch time and absolutly loved the service and the fact that it was busy but no waiting list like the Schumburg location.. Salad was fresh and the soup with kale was tasty.. I will definietly be back..Good price for the value and service with smile. I actually flelt like the young man was happy with his job and cared about his cutomers.. You don't see that very often anymore in this kind of chain of restaurants...The host and hostess very pleasant and smilling.. Bravo for hring and tranning the right people..

Olive Garden is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. In fact, it was an Olive Garden restaurant that got me hooked on Italian food. They have so many different varieties of pasta from your traditional Meat Sphagetti and eggplant parmesan to their Seafood pastas. Their menu is always changing per the season, so they are always introducing new Italian dishes like their Chianti Braised Short Ribs with Risotto rice (my new favorite) as well as the pasta filled portebello mushroom in white cream sauce (my other favorite). I also love the free soup or salad, and breadsticks that comes with your entrees. The bread is always served hot and fresh and is always a perfect compliment to your soup or salad. Their bread has a nice buttery taste and is so light and fluffy. I luv that you can order as many soups as you want, and you can order a different type of soup each time. I personally go for the Soupa Toscano first (with spicy sausage, potatoes and greens in a creamy broth, similar to an Italian Wedding Soup) then I order another round of soup, this time a Pasta Fagioli (with red & white beans with ground beef, tomatoes and pasta) and finally their Chicken and Gnochi soup (a creamy soup made with chicken and Italian dumpling and spinach. By the time I am done with my third soup and breadsticks, I am already full. That's the idea, being the cheapo that I am, I take my entrée to go so I can enjoy it for dinner the next day. Its like getting two meals for the price of one. Oh, and don't forget to go online where you can usually find $5 off coupon for Olive Garden

This is one of those more basic places that you don't think of reviewing normally but it's worth a few words. More or less I have to say that there ARE coupons for the Olive Garden you can find in the paper so clip them out. The meals there are normal for getting a big plate of Italian food (about like 11 some bucks before tax) so if you go with a bunch of people you'll be happy you have a coupon for a bit off your meal. It's a nice place to go with family or friends to chat and have a casual dinner. They do have some good dishes, I recommend their steak/veggie dish which is a little more money but VERY tasty. Also they have a kickin' fettuccine alfredo. Breadsticks are nice and warm and soft, very good, even better if you mop up the house salad dressing with them, which by the way is very tasty. It's not the classiest joint but it's a nice night out and a very popular chain.

This is like an "italian" Denny's. Food is gross. The first and last time I ate here was about 7 years ago and id was a horrible experience. My pasta tasted like MUSH. Don't think they know what aldente means. Also, our waiter was wasted. He reeked of cheap wine. You couldn't pay me to go back.

Who the heck would review an Olive Garden? ME! Who wants to stand around in a lobby with 23 yelling kids while waiting for a round disk to buzz and flash? ME! This was the first OG experience I've had where the dish had flavor. Garlic chicken something or other. Who was pleasantly surprised? ME! 50 minutes wait time on a Saturday night is pretty standard. So come armed with friends and good stories to pass the time. And if you wink at your waiter, you'll get some extra mints at the end.

They have pretty good fod but the service very BAD.

And, it comes full circle. I went from loving Olive Garden, to being the uber-hip urban hipster who mocks people who like Olive Garden, to craving it once again. Must mean it's time for me to move to the burbs. Salad and breadsticks? Yummy. Pasta? Eh. And don't even ask my why we had to wait 15 minutes for a waiter to arrive at 3 on a Saturday.

Ok service. Ok food. Nothing really special...

Always crowded always wait involved for pasta? For this price? Plenty other Italian places around. Not worth to wait.
