I normally have a good dining experience here, but the last few times have been absolutely dreadful. The cashier was rude each time and I had to take my order back because it was wrong. Today I stopped by and got my usual, a cow tongue burrito with no lettuce or tomato. I took it to go and went home to watch the colts and bengals game. I took a bite and my mouth was insantly full of both lettuce and tomato, there was very little actual meat inside the burrito. I called and tried to speak to a manager named "Nancy" who was beyond rude to me, I could barely get a single word in once I tried to tell her that my burrito was stuffed with the exact ingredients that I asked for none of, she never gave me a chance to speak and continued to insist that I never specified no lettuce or tomato, although I always order the same exact thing, not to mention I had a friend with me who also heard my order. I lost my paitence with this establishment, although I gave them multiple chances. If you want really good mexican food, try El Coyote on pulaski south of 115th right after the street.

Definitely the place to stop if you're in the neighborhood and have a craving for a burrito. Big, kick-ass Southside burritos with all the fixins. Tortas rock too. Lest I forget their nachos. They pile it on thick here. Meat, plenty of cheese, guacamole, sour cream, whatever your brain can conjure up. Whether you're around for lunch, dinner, or the on the way home from a local watering hole, El Gallo does Mexican food right on the Southside!

Great place to eat after a night of drinking. It's definitely open at 2am. They are in the business of delicious drunk food. They have rice water which is always a plus. They have lengua which is my fave. Pretty cheap and a good place to go for your Mexican food craving if you don't feel like going too far to get it. I don't know if I've ever had El Gallo sober, but I'm sure it's okay then too.

I have been coming here for a few years now and have tried many different things on the menu. They have the best pastor tacos in town, I honestly have yet to find somewhere that has them beat. I used to get rude service at the counter but now they have a young man there often and he is always friendly. They accept credit cards now! No more ATM fees, woo!

I ordered the strawberry shake from here while a buddy ordered some food and man was the shake good! Different but good..the food was quick and looked delicious...I ended up coming back the next day and the steak tortas are amazing...love this place!

Out of all the small Mexican food places that Ive been to, this is is my favorite. Food is always good, service too. Same people cooking the food for years, no turnover. Their plates are cheap and they give you good food. Its not a 5 star establishment but I didnt come here expecting it to be so. Good food, good service, cheap prices, what else do you want.

Burrito joint is back on point. I had a streak of bad luck for some time, but recently swung by for a bite after a year hiatus.... annnnnd now I can't stop myself. Tacos, Burritos, Sopas: The Trifecta of Perfecta. By default, these tacos come with lettuce & tomato, but I advise cilantro, chopped onion, and cheese instead..the way the Taco Gods intended for them to be eaten. Things have changed because they are now much more generous with everything from sides to napkins. Cooks are trimming the meat with more care these days, but ya still get the occasional bite of a whatthef*ck. No seafood on menu, but great chop sauce with just the right amount of heat.. I wish they'd be more consistent with keeping Chips fresh though..The ladies waiting tables have always been dolls..that was never in doubt.. They won't disappear on you, even when it is insanely busy. Service is crazy quick. Bonus points for cleaning up the Women's bathroom.. I'm *really* hoping they kerp things on the positive. CASH ONLY. You'll often find Chicago's Finest in small packs grabbin' mad snacks, which is always nice to see because such late hours can bring out a bit of parking lot dram-o-rama. ;)

Wow wow wow, their best in my opinion are their sopes de Al Pastor. This place is truly very authentic and I love the service they provide. My advise if you are not sitting in to dine give them a call to have your order ready. Due to their authentic dishes they are VERY busy every single day. ** CASH ONLY **

Great authentic Mexican food~ just go! This place rocks and I love their spicy pico. I could eat here everyday! Always loved them from their 63rd street address but I'm glad they have one closer to home!

I'm a typical white girl in that I come here drunk like "lehs eat takoz, mmm, takoz." However, my Mexican self is like "lightbulb!...let's go to Blue Island and drink so we can go to El Gallo after" so that must mean this place is legit. I mean, I live in Pilsen and can eat tacos all day errrryday and don't have to go far to do so, yet when I hear "El Gallo" I'm instantly hungry. I've had their burritos. I've had a taco or two. I've had some rice and beans. However, my favorite thing, hands down, are their sopes. Talk about a perfect sope, then they go ahead and put a bunch of their delicious meat on it and BAM! I never finish them, but it works out nicely because that means I have leftovers. The people that work here have always been really nice. The cooks accidentally put sour cream on my sopes once and the waitress saw the look on my face and knew something was wrong even though I insisted it was fine. (I'm not good at hiding emotions and I guess I looked really sad, or something.) I never send food back, but she insisted and even said "nope, it says right here no sour cream, they messed up" and saved my meal. That waitress was the real MVP.

Terrible service four employees 6 customers. I had to wave down the server for coffee then for tortillas. Not once did she come by the table, we even had to wave her down twice for the bill.

I love the Southside for places exactly like this!! Went to the Sox game followed by a few other establishments, and I knew what I was craving around 3:30 in the morning. Yes, a steak burrito as big as my head! It was flipping delicious! The guacamole is the bomb too. I would love to try more menu items a little more sober. I betcha everything is delish! The staff was great and fast! I'm not sure I would still be smiling at that hour? Thank you El Gallo you did not disappoint me! See ya next year

Best Mexican food in the area! I come here at random times and the food never disappoints. The service is awesome and the prices are even better. If you're ever in the area go here!

This place is hot trash. Went there for the first time to pick up some tacos after a hard days work on a friday. Found them on yelp after and saw they had some good reviews. Ordered 12 tacos with a large guacamole/ chips. I didn't look at the order before I left because I was tired. Went home to realize that I didn't receive 12 tacos, received 9. And I didn't receive a large guacamole, I received a small. There is no way the size I received was a large, it was so small that would mean the actual "small size" is shot glass sized. The tacos are over priced as it is, so to be charged for tacos I didn't receive it ridiculous. The steak tacos were NOTHING to brag about either. They might have other good food there but they will not be receiving anymore of my business.

  • Natalie N.

El Gallo has some fantabulous food! Not too shabby prices either! The only real complaint that I have is that they have an entire "American" food section. I am not hispanic at all, but I feel that when you go to a Mexican food restaurant, there should not be hamburgers and cheese fries on the menu! Other than that, I love the "Mexican" food! I will for sure go back!

    (5)
  • Sue D.

Love this place! Best guacamole, inexpensive for the stuffed tacos and burritos with lots of flavor. Waitresses are wonderful. My hubby likes fries with his burritos, go figure, but he likes them. I will keep coming back.

    (5)
  • Ryan P.

Best steak burritos anywhere, period! Service is extremely fast even when busy. Have never had bad food. First ate here in 1994, and have been coming back to the old stomping grounds ever since.

Love their food so much never had a problem. Authentic, great tasting food always a joy to eat the food

  • Melissa S.

Excellent Mexican food! We love coming here. Very friendly staff and they seem to always remember you. Prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommend this place! I wish they had more locations.

    (5)
  • Tim S.

The worst burrito ever. How do you screw up a burrito with no beans? Morons. When someone gets off work and they are no drunk they actually care about what they eat. You guys suck if I could give 0 stars I would I hope you go out of business

    (1)
  • Mike S.

There's another El Gallo right next to my house, but I'd rather drive an extra 20 minutes to come here! Great food, great service and the horchata was excellent! I'll be back soon!

    (5)
  • Julie O.

El Gallo on 111th was my standard when we in lived in the area. We ate there once or twice a week. Never really tried menu items aside from tacos and frijoles, but they do have a good size menu. Made it a point to go back when we were in the area last week. Nothing has changed. Place looks the same, staff is the same. The staff is very pleasant and the place is very basic, but really, it is all about the tacos. And the tacos were good, served hot and fresh and full. The way I see it - we got dinner for two under $20 - with leftovers. Free parking.

Great for lunch, dinner, or a 2am late night snack. I have been coming here for years! Their fries are great too and your friends that dont like mexican food can have a yummy burger...

    (5)
  • Vita L.

Good is just "ok". When there is so much competition aims, you would think they would try to give you nice service. Last few times I was in there, the most unpleasant Mexican woman "serviced"me. I was picking up take out, she didn't even acknowledge me. I had to get HER, when I told her I'm picking up, she rolled her tires at ne! And after giving me what I later found out, a messed up order, she went back to what she was doing...no good bye, nothing. I've never felt more out of place or more offended by anyone...seriously, the most unpleasant woman ever, and my orders are never right....never going here again. :-(

  • Leang E.

I so appreciate my friend taking my craving into consideration as I got to embark on my quest for a Mexican spot in the burbs. We came in and picked up our order and it's quite spacious spot. I got myself the beef tostada, a chicken and the Mexican Special taco. I also got the guacamole and the haracha and all of it was very tasty and delicious. You can't order a single flauta here as they come in 3 for an order. I may have to try that next time. The prices are affordable, and the portions are good as well.

  • Cesar M.

3.5 **** I have been here a few times and it is usually late, really late. I guess it is kinda cool that they are open so late. Yesterday coming back from the bar and a little hungry we stopped here around 2 am. In previous visits I tried tacos and burritos and they were good, but just good, not enough to write a 4 or 5 * review. Yesterday I tried their tortas, breaded chicken, steak and a steak burrito. I was surprised, tortas were good. The bread was soft on the inside and a little bite on the outside. I was a little less impressed with the burrito but it was ok. The chips are really good, be aware, I think that they deep fry them in lard so if you are vegetarian or don't eat pork ask for regular chips. Service is always nice and the prices are ok. Sometimes they get really busy.

  • Lesia C.

Great mexican place, the sopes have great texture and the tacos are delicious. Chicken is a little bland, but the flavor of the steak tacos more than make up for it. Only reason this place doesn't have five stars, is that the rice is a little bland, and they also don't serve alcohol! We usually solve this problem by getting ours to go though

    (4)
  • Alisha M.

Now granted I always go in here when I've been out at a sox game or completing some portion of the western walk at like 3 o'clock in the morning but I tell you what they have AWESOME food and great service every stinkin time. The chicken nachos are great, chicken tacos are fantastic, steak tacos are super yummy and the pastor is my favorite. My friends get their burritos and always enjoy them and now they even accept Visa!! Hello 2014!

    (5)
  • Bob H.

This place is horrible so inconsistent, I order a breaded steak torta it was still frozen in the middle. I wouldn't waste my time or money at this garbage place. Never again you suck

  • Bridget K.

I love Mexican so I'm hard to please. I walked into El Gallo on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 pm with a few friends. We sat down. We took a look at the menu while eating the chips and salsa. Now the salsa was decent but the chips were lacking. I was hoping for some freshly fried thin and crispy corn chips. There were not to be found at El Gallo. A little later our waitress came back to take our order. I got the taco dinner. I ordered two chicken tacos and one beef which came with rice and beans. The tacos were ok with the corn tortillas. The rice had no flavor, I felt like I was back in my college cafeteria eating there version of Mexican. Everything else was ok. I'll be back but next time I will skip the taco dinner and maybe opt for just the tacos.

  • K D.

Always delicious, even at 430 AM! It's a small taqueria style restaurant, and I have always got great service here. Try the chicken torta, you will not be disappointed. I had that and the pork tacos. And it was PERFECT as always. I usually call my order in and they have it ready for me when I arrive. Also I love the fact that they have Good Horchata and Jamica. When I bring this home no one has any complaints.

    (5)
  • Dan D.

Come here as a regular and absolutely love the place. Perfect for a late night burrito after some beers or some quick tacos on the go. The Jamaica and horchata are brewed fresh daily and the sauces as well so there is a definite homemade taste. This place is known for miles and it's easy to see why.

    (4)
  • G S.

I had a steak torta and it was good. First time I have had a torta. I think in finding a great torta would be in bread selection. For those who have never had the courage to order one it's in my eye a Mexican burger. I think the bun could have been better but would like to try a few other places to get a grasp of the torta bun. Any good suggestions sent them my way.

This is my favorite place to go for Mexican food and I love that they're open super late. The staff are so wonderful and nice, they know my name and order as soon as I come in! Not to mention its great food at amazing prices and the service is crazy fast! Love this place!

    (5)
  • John D.

Best burrito on the south side. Period.

  • Nick G.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants (the other one is off of LaGrange and 131st). Everything here is fantastic and comes out super quick. The staff are always helpful and polite. This is a very casual restaurant; not fancy at all.. but you'd be crazy to not like this place and their food!

  • LAURA S.

I can't believe some of these reviews! Pricey?? Are we talking about the El Gallo on 111th street in Alsip? This place rocks! They are incredibly reasonable. Excellent steak tacos, excellent service. I've been going there for years. They serve great food 24 hours a day. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are nasty. Waaaaaaaay better than Scummit (Summit). Oh, and great guacamole (cheap!!)

  • Daniel F.

Last time I was here was about five or six years ago. I was actually kicked out for... well, never mind. I'm pretty sure I was the first customer of the day, they were obviously open and was really impressed that I actually got to see someone cleaning the grill. I figured I'd have to wait a little bit for my food, seeing though they're not finished cleaning as of yet. I paid for my burrito and and bottle of water, turned around to get my water, turned back toward the counter, and there was food waiting for me. I was a bit skeptical at first. I was looking at this brown bag on the counter, while someone was still cleaning the grill.... humm... confusing. I sat down at the table and could feel the heat of my food through the bag. I opened it up, and it was steaming. I figured I just got a left over nuked burrito from last night. Hoooray! I was STARVING! So, I ate it. If you've read any of my other reviews, I state on several occasions that i'm not too picky. If there is a meal that I don't finish, its because it was really bad. Not only was this thing blazing hot, there was grease dripping out of the bottom of it. I hate grease. So, I ate about half of it. I immediately washed my hands. There bathroom was actually really clean, I guess they get one star for that. As soon as I get to my car, I get a phone call from my mother. Not sure if this is what started my nausea, or the TERRIBLE FOOD I WAS JUST SERVED! I ended up making my way back home, only to find myself the king of my own throne room for about the next ten minutes. Please, do not eat here. I remember why I was kicked out, because I complained about the food being horrible!

    (1)
  • Michael C.

Great Burrito.......good tacos....been here numerous times and as my buddy Kev says you never get a bad meal here. The only drawback is the bathroom its like a phone booth.

  • Michele S.

This is my all time favorite taco place, and I drive from the north suburbs to eat here :) I was converted when I was dating a south sider, so thanks for that! haha Get the steak anything....and slather in the red sauce....yum!

  • Ahmad N.

Tamperqeanea was awesome. Good food for great prices.

    (4)
  • Mark G.

Ah yes. Finally. A real taqueria (with a real taqueria name) in a heavily Irish populated south side suburb. Compared to living on the north-west side, I've come to realize over the years that legit taquerias are few and far between in Oak Lawn and it's few surrounding areas. But Ell Gallo passes all the legitimacy tests in my world. I'm stuck on the tacos al pastor. Give me about four of these bad boys, and I'm set. Unfortunately, they don't have salsa verde. But the red salsa is quite good. They give you complimentary chips and pico de gallo. The chips are never stale and the pico tastes fresh and spicy. I've had the steak burrito here and it's pretty decent as well. Plenty big. Pretty good horchata as well, and the guacamole is tasty and cheap. My significant other always orders the chorizo tacos with cheese, and she marvels over them every time. Unfortunately they don't take credit card. So bring cash if you want to avoid the ATM fees. El gallo definitely falls under the "cheap eats" category so I can't complain too much. Oddly even living in an area where there's no shortage of taquerias, I crave me some El Gallo quite often.

    (5)
  • Michael W.

Great food, at least the burritos and tamales. They (finally) take credit cards (at least Visa).

    (5)
  • Joanne W.

One of the only reasons I visit my parents on the Southside is to eat at El Gallo afterwards. Not only is this the perfect place to meet after a night of binge drinking (with a designated driver of course), but this is a taqueria I am not ashamed to visit while sober. The service is great. As soon as you seat yourself, boom, you have a glass of water, a basket of warm, delicious homemade chips and salsa in front of you. Had a chance to glance over the paper menu on your table? No, cause the waitress is already taking your order. (Side note: Pray you get the waitress in the tight shirt and jeans and platinumy hair. Honey Honey is the greatest waitress of my life. My husband and I have nicknamed her thus, since she ends every sentence with, honey. EVERY. SENTENCE. HONEY. At first it got on my nerves, but now it's endearing. And she's always taking care of you, honey). I recommend trying the guac and the Bistec a la Mexicana dinner. Yum!!

Look, there's a lot of good Mexican food in the Midwest. This place looks like it will serve up good Mexican food, but unfortunately, it's trying to do too little in order to underwhelm the people who come here--people who haven't had truly good Mexican food--so that they'll think it's authentic when it's just mediocre. Strike one: Why is the ordering system so complicated? I'm very familiar with places where you order at the counter and sit down and wait for your food. But to have a completely separate line for takeout orders? Why? (A separate cash register might be fine, but not on the other side of the counter.) Strike two: How is it possible that a bean-and-cheese burrito is off menu? Yes, I understand that there aren't as many vegetarians in the Midwest, but there aren't too many vegetarians in East L.A. either, yet I can get a bean-and-cheese at any taqueria worth its salsa. Strike three: Long waits. I realize there were a lot of people waiting for their takeout orders, but I also saw how many people you had working. Maybe if you didn't have two completely separate lines, you could have that second cashier helping with food prep. Bonus star for offering chile-relleno tacos. They weren't delicious, but I'd never even heard of that before, so I had to try. It was a good attempt.

  • Kimberly M.

I remember the first time I ate here years ago. One of my high school friends took me here and all she told me about the place is that the burritos were HUGE. We made our orders and filled up the passing time by eating chips and salsa. They were yummy. Not long after, our plates came out and I was amazed at how much food we got. After that first day, this became one of my staple mexican food places. It is a cash only place so remember to bring some cash.

  • Nicole L.

I used to go to this location all the time almost a decade ago. Nice to see they are still in business because the food has always been good. Funny story - my husband and I once accidentally dined and ditched here, but as soon as we realized it we went back to pay. Whoops! I read the reviews before coming here after so long and at many people's suggestion I tried the pork taco. While good, I much preferred the steak tacos. They are some of the best I've had. Visited: April 29, 2011

  • Wilma F.

A bit disappointing. I haven't been there for a while, it was pretty dirty. The salsa on the table was awesome, chips not so much - but the food was medium at best. Usually you can count on the smaller places to serve up the real deal on Mexican fare. I would suppose if it was 2 in the morning and I was leaving the bar after a night out - it would probably be the best giant burrito I've had. But when your sober and hungry at 4 in the afternoon, not so much. However, I am a fan of good authentic Mexican food, I have had good food in the past - so I will probably give it a try once again when I am in the neighborhood.

I love me some El Gallo! This is my go to spot for steak tacos in the area, and I crave them regularly. I often look for other good spots, but always end up coming back through El Gallo Tapatio's doors. The tortas are also good, which is a hard sell for me at most taquerias. The staff has always been friendly to me, and you will usually see the same familiar faces working there. A good afternoon place, a good evening joint, and a good late night spot. Always good, no matter the time.

great food !!! best Mexican food on the south side ...keep up the good work

  • Kim A.

Stop me if you've heard this one... You know what "el gallo is Spanish for?" ... "THE Gallo" And so someone would say this (sober or drunk) and off we'd go, to the Gallo. This spot is so ridiculously familiar to me, and those closest to me. We longed for it in college, drunkenly visit when spending nights on the southside. I think the staff is super nice and patient, especially when the cougar bar next door (the former BG Fellowes... but you know it's still a puma hunting ground). The food is good. Seriously. It's perfect when you are starving, and it's perfect when you need a little old fashioned grease to soak up cheap beer. Th guacamole is delicious, and I usually find myself drowning my taco in the pico de gallo.

  • David J.

I went to El Gallo on Saturday and had a very good experience. The food and service was very good. I had steak tacos with sour cream and beans. They over did it with the sour cream and beans a little and it made it very messy/soggy. Everything tasted great besides that and I had very good service. Cash only! (They do have an ATM just in case.)

    (4)
  • Mike R.

Unless it is after 2am and you are drunk, find a different place. It is your common cheap, sloppy Mexican place.

    (2)
  • Michele K.

Yum, the tacos and burritos are delicious. Super fast service and nice hot salsa!

    (4)
  • Mia L.

Not sure if the kitchen is clean due the exterior appearance, but the food is friggin good. I usually get steak tortas. Their guacamole could be better. I wish they accepted credit cards.. It's cash only.

There is so much hype about this place but its not really good. Try jalisco express down the street much better. Far less drunks far better food

    (2)
  • Laura O.

Salsa is a little hot. Steak tacos were bland and somehow were missing cheese. Chicken Enchiladas Suiza were delicious along with the beans and rice. I felt like I was in a Chinese restaurant - I ordered a Coke and they brought the can out with a cup of ice.

  • Amy J.

I have to admit, I have never been here before 2AM. But when school is in session and us college kids have had a long night of drinking this is the place to be. Love the staff. They put us with us. The food is good. But what is with the ridiculously hot salsa and guacamole? What do you have to prove El Gallo? LoL =P

    (3)
  • Rena K.

Mmmmm good stuff! More authentic than your average Chipotle and slightly greasier! Really good chips and salsa. I like the steak on anything!

THE best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Better than the Mexican food I had in Mexico. Great good (best guacamole; no other place can compare), friendly staff, nice prices and hours. Buy extra to go!

This El Gallo on 111th is the best El Gallo. As great at 2pm as it is at 2am.

Any of you old time south siders will remember back when El Gallo's on 63rd was THE ONLY game in town. Well, this one in Alsip is the original, relocated. A lot of familiar faces still working there, probably glad to be gone from the original 63rd location, which has morphed into an abomination in a high crime neighborhood, with bastard burritos that cause their fathers embarrassment. I love this place. Taste the same as it did 20 years ago. The red sauce and "chop" sauce is worth a visit alone. eat in and gorge on chips and salsa, and take your unfinished burrito or taco home. Steak is standard goodness here, but my favorite has got to be the Al Pastor(marinated pork). I guess most might not consider this "authentic" It is excellent in flavor. I've had other Al Pastor, with the onions and pineapple still in the meat. I'd rather have it this way---the end result. Leave whatever it is marinated in at home. Have it with cilantro and onions. the chorizo is also exceptional. Have it plain(without eggs) in a burrito or taco. It is the GREASIEST meat known to man, but also the best tasting. Probably 5000 calories.....but what a way to go. I frequently carry out huge 44 ounce cups of both salsas for weekends or parties. people will rave.

its the only semi good food in the area unless you like chain stuff. the staff is rude, well at least all the times i been there ( sober and drunk). the food is ok. little much on price and little on food.

    (1)
  • Richard D.

We lived off this stuff in college. The greasiest spoons in town but the burritos are great. I recommend the steak burrito and the nachos covered in cheese and, of course, steak. Open 24 hours, but I would avoid Friday and Saturday nights if possible...lots of freaks!

    (4)
  • Edward R.

El Gallo is great for late night tacos. I really dig their steak and the pastor is A+. Burritos are pretty large sized and filling. Sometimes I get a combo burrito wwith borth steak and pastor, it's amazing. They also serve up your food pretty darn fast. On a good day you can get your tacos or burrito in about 2 minutes. I tried a banana liquado there and would not recommend going that route. They have homemade tamales that are pretty tasty. Service is usually good. Don't forget to use the pico de gallo.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Cheap prices and good quick food. The staff has always been pleasant to me as well. They only accept cash though.

The BEST Mexican fast food in the area (even better than any i've had in the city). Always hot & fresh. The steak, chicken & pork are all excellent. They are also very cheap. I can spend $10 and get enough food to last me and my wife for 2 meals each! This is their best location. Far better than the one in Palos Hills. I live closer to the Palos Hills El Gallo, but I drive the extra few minutes for this one because it's so much better.

A little pricey for the greasy pile of food on my plate. Good if you're looking for a 1am alternative to White Castles. I'd rather just spend the 10 minutes making my own tacos or quesadillas then waste my money here.

Yo me gusta el gallo. Chorizo and egg burrito is the old standby, but after reading the other review, I'll have to try the pastor...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
