With a name that is synonymous with Chicago's "Little Italy" neighborhood, the seven location Taylor Street Pizza in Chicago's NW suburbs has a rep to live up to. Primarily a delivery and carry-out operation (with dine in available at the Elgin location), Taylor Street offers thin, double dough, and deep dish pies, as well as standard Chicago fare like calzones, Italian beef, hot dogs, ribs, fried chicken, and a host of appetizers/sides. I was motivated to try it today as I had a $10 coupon from Restaurant.com , and I'm usually ready to try a new pie purveyor, especially when I am passing through Chicago, a city that has so many great pizza places. My usual order is a thin crust, Italian sausage, green olive, and extra cheese, which was the choice today, as well. A 16" pie with the three toppings came to $12.30 after the coupon. Spoiler alert: Taylor Street carries Pepsi products. It took less than 25 minutes to be ready, and came out of the oven piping hot just as I arrived. Aesthetically, it was a work of art. Taste wise, for my pizza palate, it was perfect. Flavorful sausage, mild sauce, a sprinkling of herbs (such a small thing always makes a pizza special to me). The crust was crispy on the outside, and chewy as you worked your way in, as it should be. Excellent "pull" on the cheese, and best of all, cheese, toppings, sauce all adhered to the crust nicely. Taylor Street will be one of my "go-to" places when I'm in Chicagoland, for sure.

Recently moved to the area and being that I grew up in the city I hold pizza at a very high standard. We ordered a bunch of different things to try out and there wasn't a single bad or negative thing being said. My husband can't wait until pizza night again. He was even boasting about the cold pizza the next day. I cant wait to try more items on the menu. Glad we can order awesome food when we have company over. And they are right around the corner.

I like this place. Double dough is the way to go... But asked for is "pie cut." Otherwise the outside pieces are all crust. The pizza is good carryout pizza. Try "The Boss"... BBQ sauce w/ sausage bacon and onion.

I really don't get the bad reviews for this place. As far as local pizza goes, this place is my all-time #1. We've ordered several times from the Algonquin location and each time have had fantastic pizza ready right when they said it would be ready! They even took my phone order before they were open so that it was ready as soon as the opened. The desk gal was very friendly and they send out some solid coupons as well ($5 off a $20 order, etc.).

So this is one of my favorite pizza places around but I haven't eaten here in awhile because my boyfriend only likes crappy pizza. It reminds me a lot of Chicago pizza and it took me awhile to find a good pizza place out here when I moved from Chicago. Taylor Street, I bring you up to all my friends, and they have never heard of you! Put your name out there a little more so the Algonquin/Crystal Lake/Lake in the Hills people know what GOOD Chicago pizza taste like!!

These guys are great. It's a classic pizza joint with classic pizza, so many of these reviewees are so ticked off at the world that they have nothing else better to do than go give bad reviews online to make them feel good. We just moved here earlier this year, and we've always been happy with the food and the service when we pick up or get delivery. Honestly people, life is too short to be so hostile towards others or businesses. It's a pizza place, enjoy it! : )

Pizza that was delivered to my house for dinner was raw and when we called the receptionist to let her know about it she was nothing but rude, didnt care to accomidate or fix the situation, and responded with "maybe next time u order a pizza u should request for it well done" and hung up. Worst service ive ever received in my life. Idk how this place is still in business. Telling all my friends about it and i will not be coming back. EVER

Well, I didn't even have the chance to eat from this place. I called they took my order then called back about 10 minutes later and told me to call their Crystal Lake store and because they were too busy. (they should have done that for me). When I said I didn't want to do that they said they wouldn't get there till over an hour later so I said ok and then they said the owner wanted to close early so they wouldn't even do that, ridiculous. So i asked this young lady to speak with the owner and she said he wasn't there so i asked for a manager and she said she was the manager, sounded about 16 years old. So now I will have an authorization on my credit card, on the chance that she cancelled the order correctly. I then called Tommy's and ordered some slices and thoroughly enjoyed them. I can see why no one has reviewed this place, most people probably don't even get their food when they order.
