Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Just visited my home town. I was pressed for time but wanted an Italian beef sandwich so the closest place was Giordano's. Their south side Italian beef was the THE WORST beef in the history of Italian beef. I'm so sorry I wasted 1 of my meals here. I didn't think you could screw up Italian beef, but these guys found a way.

Your pizza is truly 5 stars! However, when you don't open until noon on Sundays...takes away from having pizza for lunch and watching some football. Rosati's opens at 11am and I had their pizza at my door 15 minutes before Bears-Packers kickoff, I just didn't want to wait until 1pm or later for Giordano's. Just sayin.

So I work literally across the street, I call in about 6 and order a Cesar Salad with grilled chicken. I paid $13 for a salad with stale croutons and 6 slices of chicken. Which I paid $4 extra to add. Took an hour and 20 minutes for someone to take my salad across Randall road. Not too pleased, waste of money. I'm sure the pizza is better but the salad needs some care.... And was I wrong for assuming the grilled chicken would be warm instead of fridge cold?

The thin citrusy pizza was. Good. However the crust was crispy. The service was good and quick

This is our second Giordano's location we've dined in. We are not native to the state, but enjoy their stuffed pizza so consider it a treat when we can fit a visit around a trip... The atmosphere, food and service at the Algonquin location were all good.

Came here over the weekend as a guest of a private party. There were about 60-75 people, so a pretty large group. I had been looking forward to pigging out on some deep dish all weekend and it was time for some grub! We got here and the party room was still hosting another party. I'm not sure if we got here a little early or if the previous group stayed late. Either way, we waited about 20 minutes waiting for the party to leave and for the staff to flip the room. FYI, their waiting area has only a couple seats. Once everyone was situated at their table the wait staff was hurrying and working their tales off to get everything out. Drinks, salad, plates, cutlery etc. For some reason though, the kitchen/management did not have their act together. There wasn't enough food for everyone. Once all the pizza was eaten we were all waiting for the second wave of pizzas to come on out. Not everyone had gotten a slice of pizza before it was all gone. The party hosts were. not. happy. Our group was pretty easy going so I don't think people were upset, at least I wasn't. I used to work in restaurants and I understand that things like this happen. None the less, food was good - when you were able to find some. Previously, I'd never had the thin crust from Giordano's before and it was tasty. I don't think I'll ever order it myself since their deep dish is why you come here! Shout out to the waitresses this weekend. They worked their tales off to try and keep a very large and hungry bunch of people happy!

Great deep dish pie. TIP: you can purchase frozen deepdish pizzas if you call in advance. Bust one of these bad boys out to when your next unexpected guest shows up and you will be an instant hero.

I never write reviews but felt this was necessary due to the most pitiful service I had ever experienced. It was so bad, it's hard to describe....HISTORICALLY BAD! Just to sum it up, the place was dead, the wait for pizza was off the charts long, the pizza was messed up, no accountability or apology, it was almost laughable! Please, please, please Mr or Ms or Mrs Franchise owner......FIX THIS!
(1)Angelique D.
Let me preface this by saying that I do not usually write bad reviews. But, since I left so unhappy, here goes. Slow service. No apologies for complaints about being charged $5.90 for 2 kids' rootbeers when the menu says soft drinks are included in kids meals AND our pizza wasn't hot enough when it came out the first time. The kids pizzas are tiny, so my kids were starving after they finished their food. The only redeeming point was the chicken chopped salad, which my husband and kids loved. My Greek salad was fine, except there were so many peppers on it, it seemed as though there were more peppers than lettuce (and of course, I don't like peppers)! Who puts green, red and yellow peppers on Greek salad anyway?! The waiter never came back for the check, although he made eye contact twice with me in the ten minutes we waited before taking the check to the counter. The cashier basically wrote off my complaints and told me that he hoped we would be happy wherever else we took our business. Well, it certainly won't be there again! Very disappointing!

Will never return. Called in over an hour early for a 6:40 pickup... 7 pm... Still not done. Food was cold.. Pizza was mediocre at best. Our delay was validated, in their minds, that the they are behind and delivery was taking 2.5 hours. They had two chefs and two managers with out hair nets or anything make food. They had one waitress on staff. The only compensation that was offered for our wait was a free two liter of pop... When we spent $70.00. Will never be back and will tell everyone to avoid at all costs. They clearly don't have good business sense or customer service skills.

We recently ordered from this location and just didn't care for it. I've had thin crust from another location years ago and loved it but this pizza had a pretty thick crust for being considered thin at this location. We were disappointed. I ordered a house salad and there must have been something in the dressing that was spicy like red pepper because I couldn't even eat it. That was a bummer too because the description of the dressing sounded light. We also ordered an Italian Deli Sandwich and that actually was good. So, at least we had something we liked :-) Just not the place for us when ordering thin crust pizza.
(2)Shawn K.
Stuffed pizza is amazing. For best experience, get it to go. Very slow wait staff.
(4)Paulie W.
A sad, sad experience. This was my second visit to this location and it was a dealbreaker, never again. Our server was painfully slow and indifferent. I had to get up and chase him down to get our party's order going otherwise we would still be sitting there now. The end result was that 45 minutes after our pizza order was taken we were told that it was going to be 15 minutes yet on the large and 5 minutes on the two small ones. Huh??? Sure enough about fifteen minutes later we were brought two small pizzas that were barely room temperature and five minutes later came the large one which was steaming hot. Did I mention that our apps were served separately also?
(1)Michael K.
Stop in for a bite to eat and it was a little busy, and there was only 1 waitress working. It took approx. 15 min to even get drinks and even longer to place a food order. I noticed the manager standing around doing nothing while the waitress is doing the best she can. The pizza was awsome but it shouldn't take 2 hours to order, eat and then leave. Thumbs up to the waitress for giving it her all, but you need to work on your managers responsibilities.
(2)Merrill M.
Great friendly staff. Loved the deep dish pizza. I will go back for sure.
(4)Ljana M.
The pizza is great, but we've had two problems in a row with the delivery service in a 2 month time span: First time, they gave us the wrong order, but they refunded our money, so that was really great service. The most recent they didn't slice the deep dish and the cost was more than they said on the phone. It's not the end of the world, but kinda annoying when mistakes happen over again. Still love the food.

Yesterday I was with a group of 3 other people and we were looking for somewhere to eat in the Algonquin area. We all agreed on Giordano's because you just can't go wrong, right? Wrong! We put our name down and decided it would be wise to pre order. I ordered us a traditional thin crust pizza because someone in our party is mildly lactose intolerant so a stuffed pizza would not be a wise choice for us. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated and another 25-30 to get our pizza. What was the point of preordering if we still ended up waiting "standard time" to eat? My fiance ordered about two different beers that were not even in stock and not draft as stated on the menu. Our waitress came out with a deep dish pizza (not to mention it looked more like a pan pizza than a stuffed pizza! The whole point of deep dish is for it to be a thick layer of cheese but that's not even the point of this review) so I immediately told her we had ordered thin crust & she said "well what do you want to do? Keep this one or wait another 15-20 for another one?" Rude! No apology whatsoever from our waitress Ashley. Our choice was to wait longer for our correct order and basically let this one go to waste? By now we were starving and pressed on time so I told her to leave it & to see what her manager could do for us in regards to the bill since it was a mistake made on their end. We had to order a small thin crust for our group member that couldn't have that much cheese. He was frustrated as we were that we had to eat our pizza before it'd get cold and basically wait for his to arrive later. Not once did John West, the manager on duty, come to our table and apologize for everything going wrong nor did he try to accommodate us for our inconvenience. I have had bad service in the past but no matter what, fast food or a fancy dine-in, the manager always makes sure that the customer leaves happy. We ate our pizza and I went to the register to speak to the Manager. I explained what had happened in a civilized manner & he continued by telling me that because of that, he had not charged us for the small pizza & had knocked off a whopping $4. His attitude towards all of this was unbelievable. He basically kept shrugging his shoulders and said there's nothing else he could do for us. I mentioned to him that he failed in apologizing, which he still had not said sorry about it. All he said was that accidents happen. Yes that is true but as a manager one should always make it a priority to make sure that the customer leaves happy and returns in the future! He was not doing us a favor by giving us a free small pizza when it was not our fault to begin with that this happened. I insisted that there had to be something else he could do in adjusting our bill total but he said it's policy and that was all he could do for us. I have worked in customer service for almost 10 years now and where there's a will there's a way and he was set on not finding a way. I was there for an extra 45 minutes going back and forth with him on this. I asked for Peter's contact information & I was told he was on vacation and couldn't have his direct number so I asked for an email address and the number to corporate. I waited 45 minutes for this: 1 bogus phone number to "corporate" (I called and it was the Giordano's in Beverly) 1 other phone number to "corporate" that was just a full mailbox 1 general email address that i am convinced it does not belong to his manager, Peter. All in all, for a manager to not have their manager's information handy nor the direct number to the corp. office is completely unacceptable. He was looking for these phone numbers off of google on his cell phone! I, as the customer did the same and called all of these so-called phone numbers to anyone that would actually do something for our terrible experience but to my dismay didn't accomplish anything and I was livid when I left because he got away with poor service. I have never witnessed such horrible service in my entire life. I hope this message is seen by Peter or someone from corporate and for them to reach out to me and prove to me that this is not how the Giordano's corporation goes about dealing with unsatisfied customers and accommodate us for this mess.

Pizza is amazing, but that is the only good thing. Services is horrible. Good thing there pizza is good because that's the only thing keeping people coming back.
(3)Preston H.
Still the first place we come when back in town. Don't listen to the reviews that say it takes too long. There is a reason it takes 45 minutes to make a proper pizza. Never disappointing.

We ordered some Pizza, both deep dish and "thin" crust after my little sister's high school football game a few weeks back where she played in the band at half time. Good show the Jacob's Golden Eagles put on and fancy-dancy new band uniforms they got to show off. We were freezing out pa-tuttis off and all agreed that a nice hot pizza after the game was just the ticket. We called in our take out order and it wasn't quite ready when we arrived to pick it up, but that's OK. They gave my step mom something to drink while she waited. In fact, the pizza came out a few minutes later and the staff just told her to take the cup home. This is not a to-go cup, kids, one of the tumblers they use in the restaurant. Thank you Giordano's! She was excited to have a cup to call her own at home now. We got home and cracked into that pizza as if it was the first time we had seen food in a month. We're all kinds of pathetic, though. I don't think one of us actually finished an entire piece of deep dish sausage pizza crust and all. It's so filling. I didn't realize that I'm such a fan of Giordano's until this pizza. The sauce is almost sweet and they don't skimp on the meat. It was delish!! We also ordered a thin crust pepperoni which is actually what I would call hand tossed, not really thin. I wasn't able to stomach another bite, but I will point out that they cooked it on the well done side, which I'm a big fan of. They really know what they are doing. Watch out Lou Malnati's!! You got some competition with these guys!!
(4)Mike R.
I loved the stuffed pizza and this location always cooks it up right.
(4)Phil C.
Pizza is pretty good if you eat in at the restaurant. Their thin crust pizza's don't travel well but their deep dish rocks. The sausage is always cooked so you don't have to worry about waking up with cramps and stabbing gut pain. It is amazing how many places don't cook their sausage correctly - very dangerous. NO SUCH WORRIES AT GIORDANOS. As for the service in the restaurant. Well, let me put it this way. I don't think the management inspires their people. You clearly get the sense that it is just a J.O.B. for those working there. A real shame, since the original restaurants were known for their passion and love of patrons. If you don't care about being serviced with a sense of appreciation, then eat in and enjoy the food.
(3)Jennifer Z.
I put one star because I couldn't put zero stars- the salad was ok but for a pizza place this pizza was awful! We got the thin crust chicago classic. There was basically no sauce and zero flavor. It tasted like boiled and watery vegetables. All four in our party thought you can get better pizza at little Caesars. Honestly maybe it was an off night but I think it is inexcusable for a pizza place to put out such terrible product even on a bad day. If you really want a good pizza we have found georgios to be amazing! We will definitely be going there from now on and you should too if you want a pizza with flavor.
(1)Susan S.
This is very good pizza, and I would choose it any day over other well-known chains. Although Giordano's is known for its stuffed pizza, the thin crust is the real star of the show, in my opinion. It's a thicker thin crust than some, but it's crisp, and it's dusted on the bottom with some kind of seasoning or breadcrumbs -- something that gives it a little extra flavor, and helps distinguish it from other pizza places in the area. I do like the stuffed spinach pizza, and the individual sized ones are a great deal. Giordano's does not skimp on the cheese or toppings, and its sauce is sweet, garlicky and fresh-tasting. Carryout is good at this location; staffers are friendly and polite, and the pizza is ready when they say it will be ready. I've gotten pizza from this restaurant at least a dozen times and never had a bad experience. Recommended.
(4)D M.
yikes.. I wonder if all the good reviews come from people who know what a good pizza actually tastes like. Ok.. the sauce and toppings were great, especially the sausage but the crust on both the thin crust and deep dish tasted like it had been frozen. In fact, when I asked the waitress if it was made fresh, on site, she couldn't answer which tells me that it is indeed made off site and brought in each location frozen.. eeeegads..
(2)Thomas C.
We stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Since the pizza thin crust was 20 min , and the stuffed was 45 min... we opted for sandwiches. We had the chicken parmagiana sandwiches and the kids ordered the mozzarella sticks for dinner. We were nearly the only table, although there was a party in the sideroom. 45 minutes or more until the food hit the table. The food was hot and tasty.. but seriously, if you are going to wait 45 minutes for cheese sticks ..might as well get a stuffed pizza. If this was the only time I have been here, I would let it slide, but the last few times we have been here.... The wait from the kitchen is way too long.
(2)Gregory P.
The staff did a great job of taking care of our large group that showed up late for our 8:45 pm reservation on a Friday night. The place loses some of it's appeal being way out in the burbs, but still good overall. If you don't mind the wait on the deep dish Chicago-style pizza, then you shouldn't be disappointed.
(3)Ivy P.
Got Giordanos tonight. Can't recall if I've ever had it, but I know I never will again. It was SO over priced, sooooo greasy, burnt, yet soggy, it was just aweful.. And the cheesy bread was just as bad...
(1)Sam H.
This place is terrible!! Service is far from par and the management is clueless!!! Stuffed pizza came out half was cooked and half of the bottom crust was raw, we ate 4 pieces before we realized the other half was still uncooked. When we told the manager he promptly came and offered to cook the remaining pizza a little longer! Really!!! Cook a half of a stuffed pizza!! Really..... Place is a joke!
(1)Jay S.
Used to like the deep dish/stuffed years ago, but now it seems like the crust is always undercooked. Thin crust is still good though, just not as good as the stuffed used to be. In all honesty I think this may be the case in a few other Giordano's as well. Just wish you could order online from this location.
(3)Kelly O.
Here is the thing. Giordano's pizza is in my opinion, the best stuffed pizza. However, this particular location is the WORST WORST WORST at delivery. Tonight marks the fourth time in a row that they have delivered here and been at least 30-45 minutes late past the promised delivery time. I'm about 20-30 minutes away from the restaurant TOPS and you'd think they were delivering to Afghanistan. You might ask, why order from them again? I don't get pizza much, and when I babysit my niece, all she wants is pizza and the only kind we like is Giordano's. I had to share the delivery point because frankly, I am beyond the point of understanding the reason for this delay EVERY SINGLE TIME. Tonight will mark my last time ordering here.
(3)Danielle K.
For a faster service Itailian-ish restaurant they are great! I've been here a few times, they are one of the few places around that actually has great roast beef sandwiches! Fresh bun, good beef and au jus! The interior is very casual very typical fast Italian food with checkered tablecloths and wooden booths. They have a good selection and really great service when you dine in. I've never ordered out, that might be a different story! When your in the mood for less expensive great food go here!!
(5)Tracy K.
I have been here countless times since they opened last year. It gets a little crowded at certain times, but I've never had to wait more than five minutes for a table. They've got awesome salads that are large enough for a meal (and then some!) and all kinds of tasty appetizers, sandwiches, and pizzas. The staff has all been friendly, particularly the women who work the weekend lunch shifts. If I still lived in the area, I know I'd be a regular here.
(4)Joanna P.
I am not a big pizza eater and usually go for the thin crust but this place definitely won me over when it comes to their stuffed deep dish pizza! It is truly delicious. There is nothing better than biting into a slice ooozing with cheese. It is a must if you are in the Chicago area.
(5)J F.
Ordered a couple of pizzas moments before closing time. Despite the late time, the manager was very accommodating and the pizzas were excellent. Had a thin crust and a stuffed and both were cooked perfectly.
(5)Tomkat g.
The service @ this place is awesome! They have let us get food @ the last minute on multiple occasions even though they probably had to stay later because of it. Plus of course the food is amazing!
(5)Colleen F.
I have eaten here more times than I can count and absolutely love the Chicago Style pizza! Perfect flaky and buttery crust and top quality ingredients all packed together in a little slice of heaven! I've never had to wait any time I've gone in with a friend or group of people and love that the servers are friendly. The appetizer sampler with zucchini, cheese sticks, and mushrooms was the best I have ever had and wasn't greasy or overcooked. I really feel this is the best Chicago Style Pizza in the Fox Valley!
(4)Chris R.
soggy thin crust, sour ranch, $2 for a side of ranch, $5 delivery fee and I live less than a mile away.
