Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I came here for the second time last week with my boyfriend, just to stop in for dessert. The first time I was here we both ordered food , sadly I can't quite remember what it was. Food was good, service was good. THEN, we ordered dessert. White Chocolate Bread Pudding. OUT OF THIS WORLD. Like I said, this last trip was supposed to be dessert. Sadly, we are the type of people that always say, "let's just go grab some dessert" but it never actually ends up that way. We both ordered stromboli's. They were actually quite good, and considering it gave us leftovers, fairly priced. Of course we ordered one bread pudding for there and one to go. It tasted just as good the next day. The waiter thought we were joking when we said we loved the bread pudding, and he came back and was like holy crap where did it go?! It was getting slow and we striked up a conversation with the waiter. We talked for quite some time! He was genuine, intelligent, and funny. He alone would make us come back. His name was Libero. He did great, and always made sure we were happy. 4/5 stars, because the first experience wasn't too great besides the dessert. Though it keeps getting better every time I go, so I'll keep giving it a try. So if you ever give the place a shot, try the white chocolate bread pudding and don't forget to ask for Libero! He'll make you feel right at home.

This place is SO GOOD! Service is great ! Food is wonderful! Atmosphere is romantic . I had the baked zitti al forno. My husband had the lamb meatballs. Both dishes were excellent! I had the seafood soup also it was good. Love the olive oil and parm cheese at the table for dipping the never ending complementary bread, that was also very good.Prices are on point for what we got. I can't wait to go back!
(5)Hugo B.
You don't get the chain food feeling here, the service and the food are well matched. . The food is delicious and even the simple plate of pasta is well made here
(4)Marie C.
Love coming here whenever I fly to Illinois. Customer service is always good. Food is consistent and I love it.
(4)Jenya R.
Great food. Terrible customer service. I had a delicious mushroom chicken and 3 hours later felt really ill and hurled. After I got rid of the chicken I was fine. I called them the next day, assuming they would say they were sorry it didn't go well and maybe offer me a free dessert or drink. They REFUSED to acknowledge that it was their meal that made me sick. The person on the phone said. "There's no way you could know it was that meal that made you sick." Um, yeah, I did know because the rest of that day my husband and I ate the same thing at home and he was fine. I mean, really, just apologize for my bad experience and throw me a bone. I haven't been back since and never plan to.
(1)Raul G.
Great customer service & great food!! This was our first time there and we're definitely coming back .
(5)Josh G.
Fantastic Italian. Over-priced? Not really. Delicious? More than just that. The staff is warm and welcoming and always available to help you. Our server, Gabe, did not stop for a break even once! That's how you know that they really are there to help you and not just there to work. The food was delightful. My friends ordered half-sized meals and their portions were very appropriate. There are plenty of choices on the menu so take your time and enjoy your stay. Did I mention the huge wine list? Ask your server for the perfect wine to pair with your entrée or check out their specials which have their own special wine to go with them. Just don't eat so much that you forget dessert. A wide selection means there's something for everyone, and the choices are just as authentic as the meals!

Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen these days, but Biaggi's rises above the crowd of pasta places along Randall Road. Nice clean place, a little noisy, but not obnoxiously so. Attentive staff, pretty good pasta -- wonderful focaccia bread! Sauces are a little bland, and a shaker of red pepper flakes would help, but service was very good, food was hot, and the wedge salad was HUGE -- and delicious. Maybe not good enough to drive past a lot of other Italian places to get to, but if you're in the area, worth a stop!

Came for a business lunch, service was great, food was delicious. Pasta had this blob of delicious creamy sauce, so good.
(5)Allan C.
We reserved the large room from 4-8pm so u can't speak on how the service was for an individual table but the servers for the room were very nice. They were active and could morph to the liveliness of the party. The food was even better.
(4)Mark K.
This is fine Italian dining at a reasonable price, but without compromising on the food or service. We had a great experience. The food is really good, starting with the complimentary basket of bread and focaccia (baked with mashed potatoes, really delicious). The "half and half" combos are great for lunch - a small bowl of really good soup and a personal pizza, for only $10, works great. The desserts are also very good. The people were very friendly and helpful.
(5)Richard W.
The lunch menu is awesome! They have a nice selection and unlimited soup and salad. It is expensive, but it is good.
(4)Kenny L.
I am definitely a fan. Warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. Fantastic. Shrimp scampi is very flavorful especially with a touch of lemon. The fish platter is huge. Olives, tomatoes, potatoes, and a large serving of fish. Very moist and cooked just right. Pasta is very tasty too. Always a safe bet. A bit pricey, but nothing outrageous. Platter sizing matches the stated price with extra flavor.

Oh, Biaggi's. You are such a treat. We usually frequent the Deer Park location, but this one was just as great. Make a reservation if you can though, it's busy most nights, and especially the weekend. Us ladies at the table started with some white sangria - delicious! The men went with soft drinks. Of course, we gobbled up the "Biaggi Butter," which is their great olive oil, with a heap of fresh grated parm, and fresh cracked pepper. They put two types of bread on the table - a standard sourdough and (my favorite addiction) a delicious focaccia. We had three bread refills before the food came...it's hard not to! One dining companion had a "side salad." Beware - they are HUGE! He said it was delicious, I believe it was the Messina salad. I ordered the Chicken Marasala, which I'd never had before (I'm partial to their amazing chopped salad or the Penne Sardi), and it was PHENOMENAL. The sauce was laced with delicious butter, and my tongue's delight silenced my waistline's concern. The potatoes were so creamy and garlicky, the chicken (three large filets) was perfectly cooked. It was fantastic. I did end up taking at least half of it home, though. My husband got his usual - sausage stromboli (he eats it as a meal, not an appetizer). Dining companions had the filet mignon and cheese ravioli, respectively, and enjoyed both. And then, as if we hadn't eaten enough, we EACH ordered dessert. Because honestly, how could we not? I got my favorite - Biaggi's Lemon Tower Cake. It's light and airy, not overwhelmingly lemony, with a light frosting and white chocolate curls. Served with a little vanilla sauce and strawberries. My husband got the apple crisp, our friends got creme brulee and cheesecake. It was an awesome night. Everything I've ever had at Biaggi's is fantastic. The service has always been amazing, and that night was no exception, even though the place was crazy packed and the waiters and waitresses were obviously juggling many tables. Everyone was very attentive and quick and so friendly. Biaggi's is on our favorite restaurants list for a reason!

So after an underwhelming dinner elsewhere, my friend and I were in search of some decadent desserts....and boy did we find them at Biaggi's!! It was a Monday night around 8, so there were only about 5 other occupied tables, and we were seated right away. The hostess came over with some delicious bread even though we told her we were only ordering dessert. And no, it didn't stop me from eating some of it! :) I love the oil/parmesan dip that the waitress made when she came over. We got the dessert menu from our amazing waitress right away, and we asked her for her suggestion because everything sounded really good. She gave really good descriptions of her favorite things and took the time to explain why she liked them. You could tell this woman was serious about her sweets :) My friend ordered the warm apple crostada and the raspberry sorbet and I ordered the white chocolate bread pudding. Warm Apple Crostada: 4* Could have used more apples/cinnamon. It was heavy on the breading and low on the apple part. Raspberry Sorbet: 5* from my friend White Chocolate Bread Pudding: 5* It is like a realy decadent cake. It isn't too "pudding-y" like some others I have tried. And the melted white chocolate mixed with fresh sliced strawberries and chocolate shavings could have been a meal in itself. SO decadent! The only thing I regret is eating mediocre food before coming here! I was perusing the menu, and everything sounded amazing! I was actually considering getting things to go just because of the descriptions!! I can't wait to go back for dinner, and I will be sure to update when I do!

Biaggi's was nice. The 3-star rating is mostly for the food. The food was okay (I would rate it somewhere between Olive Garden and Maggiano's). I personally prefer the Francesca restaurants (which I would probably rate at least a 4-star). I started with some chicken soup, and my husband had the lobster corn chowder. Then I had the chicken cannelloni and my husband had the shrimp and crab cannelloni for the main course. The inside of the restaurant was smaller than I expected, but I think much of the building is a larger party room. I did enjoy the whole environment, as the server treated us as if we were at a much fancier restaurant than Biaggi's actually is. The restaurant is in a great location, by all the shops at the Algonquin Commons. I would definitely recommend for a first-date (very nice, but not toooo fancy).
(3)Dawn M.
We like Biaggi's for take out - Hubby and I grab an entree and a salad and head home where we share. (Hint: order ahead, unless you want to enjoy a cocktail while you wait.) Eating in is fine - wait staff when we've been there are been pleasant and helpful. Food tends to be very rich (a.k.a. high in fat), so save your calories for the day to eat here. Would I recommend: I would be willing to point people to Biaggi's. Would I return: Yes, usually for take out.
(4)Harat H.
Best evening out in a while start to finish. Upon entering we were greeted with a smile, sat and informed, greeted shortly by our extremely knowledgeable and wonderful server who gave us many wonderful recommendations. My husband and I really enjoyed our time here, meal, service, and drinks.
(5)Rita B.
Had high hopes for this place. It has a nice feel, updated and modern decor. Very classy. Loved the way it looked. Service was just ok. We were there for lunch. Only 5 tables full. Also, only one server. This poor guy was running around trying to get to every table. The server was very nice but I wish they had one more person there to help him out. Food...yuck. Never going to eat here again. I had the tenderloin sliders and I was not impressed. Whatever flavors they put into that dish did not work for me. It was more sour than anything. And it was accompanied by a small salad of pickles, onions and cucumbers with a splash of vinegar. OMG...talk about sour. For me, this is a no go.

So, this review is for the Grilled Pork Chops with Parmesan- Gorgonzola Butter. Seriously, what they do to the pork chops HAS TO BE ILLEGAL in several states ( my humble opinion) for it to taste that good. These are the best chops: marinated overnight with pure love ( again, my humble opinion). I could eat these chops morning, noon and night! Did I mention they have takeout? Do you crave the Rigatoni A la Toscana !! You can order a party pan for $65.00 and have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I'm not even sharing... No way!
(5)Karli C.
THIS PLACE WOWED THE PANTS OFF OF ME!!! They have a full GLUTEN FREE menu!!! The moment I was seated I asked if they had a gluten free menu (which i had no clue of) and they right away gave me one and made me a special gluten free bread to dip in yummy olive oil and parm cheese!! so good! Our amazing waiter......Im so sorry I forgot your name, But he was a tall African American gentleman with an amazing personality who kept my boyfriend and I laughing the whole time!! He knew eeeeverything about the regular menu aaand the GLUTEN FREE menu =). He really made our experience the best, next time I go I will find out his name! I plan on going to Biaggis for my Birthday!!! I'm so excited!!!
(5)Tom K.
Best dining experience in quite awhile! Very impressed with the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. The hostess was very attentive and our server, Susan, was wonderful. She made some great suggestions and very attentive. The food was great. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates for the appetizer--they were fantastic! My wife had the Lobster corn chowder which was very good. I had the Dijon crusted salmon on angel hair pasta. This is definitely a place we will be going back to again and again.
(5)Denise J.
The best dinner experience I have had in a long time!! I was going out for my birthday a few weeks later(cause i have a whole birthday month) and decided to try Biaggi's since I pas by it all the time while I am shopping. O BOY I'M GLAD I DID!!! We went on a saturday night, got a table right away and met our wonderful waitress Sam. She knew EVERYTHING about the menu items and even what the specials were, and I mean she was good and got me to change my order from a beer to yummy wine, and im so glad she sold me on it!!! I ordered the lasagna, which was HUGE! I sure couldn't eat it all by myself but knew I wanted to take some home for dinner the next night : ) Now like I said I was going there for a birthday dinner but didnt say anything to Sam about it, the only way she knew was from my ID when I ordered the wine....YES, I still get carded...HAHA after she had boxed our meals for us, she brought out ice cream with a candle in it. I thought that was so sweet of her to do.....she sure didnt have to cause my birthday was 2 weeks ago!!!Major points for Sam. So because of the Awesome food and our AMAZING waitress Sam I will be going back to Biaggi's a lot more!!! The pricing is average for an Italian restaurant, you do not get soup or salad with your meals though. they do have yummy fresh bread with oil and cheese waiting for you when you sit down : ) **they have half orders of all the entrees on the menu for a cheaper price**
(5)Julian C.
Day old leftovers from Biaggi's are better than a hot meal at many restaurants. Nothing is bad on the menu.

I'm traveling by myself for business and was looking for something other than Panera or another fast food type of joint. Thank you, yelp! You steered me in the right direction. I started with their delicious fresh baked bread and cheese/olive oil dipping sauce. YUM. And, a seasonal and might I say most delicious pumpkin pie martini! (i started with dessert, it seems!) Then I decided to be boring and get the calamari and house salad and put the calamari ON the salad. It was SO darn good. Kimberly was my server and she was sweet as pie and so accommodating and helpful while I sat alone and ate while reading my kindle. Plus, the price was right. $20 plus tip for all of that deliciousness? Two thumbs up!
(4)Cory C.
Ok food, very slow service. Good size portions tastey olive oil and bread.
(2)Matthew A.
I think this place is great! When you walk in expecting to drop $30-$40 a plate because of the atmosphere, consider my surprise when not a single dinner was above $20. Very affordable. Anyway, I ordered a "soup of the day" and did not like it. The waiter noticed and asked if there was something wrong. I apologized and told him I did not like it. He was nice enough to give me a different soup! The service was timely and we got our food on the quicker side. The four of us were not even done with our second breadbasket with the appetizers came out. What is most important is the food, and the food was great and enjoyable(except for the soup of the day at that time, but it may just be my taste buds), no complaints. Dealing with our waiter was about as pleasant as the whole dinner which made the experience even better! He was funny, friendly, and was spot on with everything. Fancy atmosphere? Check. Affordable plates? Check. Freaking awesome waiter? Check. Timely service? Check. Good food? Check So, I give my whole experience a 5/5. Honestly though If I had a less enthusiastic waiter it would have probably been 4/5.
(5)Alex K.
Sometimes is nice to go to a italian dining place. They are very reasonably priced and have decent customer service. We went there for lunch one afternoon to take a break from shopping and had a decent time. I tip very well when we have good customer service and they were tipped quite well.
(3)Kate C.
I love the bread at Biaggi's. Also I have had great experiences at many different locations. It is by far my favorite resturant in the Commons.
(4)Marie B.
We frequent Biaggi's because of their location, EXCELLENT G-FREE MENU and wonderful service. We love their beer and wine selection. A microbrew on tap here and there is a true treat in the suburbs. LOVE their spaghetti marinara and gluten free za. The food quality has been slipping lately and it would appear that they are possibly making budget cuts (charging for g-free bread at table, smaller portions, veg not always fresh etc.) PLEASE keep your quality high Biaggis!!!
(4)Keri M.
I am having conflicting feelings about this place. It seems that anything pasta wise is pretty safe, but when you get into the realm of salads, all I have to say is WTF? I had ordered the Filet Mignon Salad with the dressing on the side, meat cooked Medium Rare with an emphasis on the rare. The salad arrives with the dressing on it, when does this not happen? So they make me another one. I begin to cut into the Filet Mignon to find it completely well done (and not the good kind). Crest fallen, I start to pick through it and start to realize there is no crumbled cheesy delights, no asparagus no delicately sliced red onions... but what to my utter horror, but raw carrots and raw squash? WTF I am thinking, W...T...F. Now these aren't normal julienne carrots, but weird chunks of carrot pieces. So unless they have Andrea Bocelli stashed in the back chopping carrots they have no business being in this salad or any salad. The waiter did comp the meal so that was nice to know that the customer service rocks, but I was really let down after having other meals here. So be warned, SALAD FAIL!
(3)Joe Z.
stepping in, you think your about to drop easily $100. atmosphere amazing, food even more amazing (even the bread/oil is amazing), deserts so delicous and different, and very reasonable prices for what your getting. There's free wifi access, and when we were there, the manager (owner?) visited our table and asked if everything was going well (he probably visited everyone's table). So very freindly, very appreciative, and great food.. I think this is easily my favorite new restaurant. Even with appetizer and desert for two people, I think we paid maybe $60. typically dinners run $10-$18.
(5)Stefani E.
This was my first time at Biaggi's and it was fantastic! I had the Garlic Shrimp Oreganata for dinner and the White Chocolate Bread Pudding (to die for!) for dessert. I tried a bite of my boyfriend's Lasagna and it was delicious, will definitely get that next time! The service and atmosphere was great. Will be back!
(5)Tank M.
Two stars. Why? Because, compared to the other two dozen Italian restaurants within 5 miles of this place, it is below average. Nothing is particularly bad, but every dish leaves you feeling like it could have been so much better. Bland. Like corporate Italian food. Especially if you compare it to other places in the area. If you want eat Italian, try one, two, or three of the other places in the area before you stop here again. You might be surprised at what you've been missing.
(2)Peter G.
Shrimp zitti was BOMB! Affordable place and good food.
(5)Jennifer H.
Fantastic food with a great price! The black noodles with lobster is assume.
(5)A. M.
Our usual lunch or dinner spot when we are done shopping at Algonquin Commons. I do miss the lobster pizza they used to have more often. Now sometimes it's a special if once in a while. They offer the lunch specials of half salad/soup/sandwich which is great too. Perfect for business or a ladies' lunch place! The staff is professional and I've never had a bad meal or service here.
(5)Melissa M.
Great place to bring your kid for lunch! They raised the price of a kid's meal to $5.99 (previously $4.99) but they give them an ADULT sized pizza, a drink with a take home cup and an ice cream sundae. I love having bread/oil to snack on while I wait...wayyyy better than the Olive Garden's breadsticks. This is where my mom and I always go out to lunch. I almost always get the Chopped Chicken Salad. It's grilled chicken, avocado, tomato, red onion, gorgonzola, bacon and a sweet/tangy house dressing. Really tasty and large, but $10 for a salad is kind of pricy. I've had the Chicken Pietro before and it's really good, as well. Very nice atmosphere/ambience. Convenient for lunch if you're shopping in Algonquin Commons. I'd say this place is a big step up from Olive Garden...I say it's better than Macaroni Grill also. If you don't feel like driving to Schaumburg for Maggiano's...or making your own Italian food...Biaggi's is a great choice. My only complaint about my last visit (birthday lunch with mom) was that we were overcharged for my son's meal ($9.99) and the free dessert coupon was not applied, so we were charged $6.50 for it. Thank goodness that I was there, my mom never checks the bill. I pointed it out and it was fixed. Sooo, word to the wise? Always review your bill...anywhere you go.
(4)Mark W.
Have had both lunch and dinner here. Food has always been above above average. Good wine selection, wait staff friendly and attentive. Prices reasonable for quality fare
(4)Tim S.
We're there often - food & service is always excellent.
(5)Jenny J.
My absolute favorite restaurant. HUGE portion sizes. Scrumptious dishes. EXTREMELY affordable. Gracious & stylish atmosphere with tables, booths, bar area & private party room. I always go there for business lunches and also had my wedding shower in the private room. It was large enough to host over 50 women!!!
(5)Richard B.
The thing I remember about Biaggi's is that it looked enormous on the inside. I was really pleasantly surprised. I went here with a friend. It was decent. They had a very interesting menu... I'm more of a "basics" kind of guy ... and there's a super long list of ingredients that I don't eat so it was a bit hard for me to choose something that I thought I would enjoy. The food ended up being alright though. Not the best Italian food, but, still tasty. The staff was also friendly and at the time the price was a bit out of my budget (I was unemployed)... but, looking back it's a good amount for what you get.
(3)Julie L.
I like Biaggi's. We always receive great service and the food is pretty darn good. I have had the Chicken Cannelloni. Pretty good. One time I had a Tilapia dish that was really good as well. My husband enjoys their fillet.
(4)Amykate C.
I like this place A LOT. I've been here twice and both were very good experiences. it looks like more expensive than it actually is, only a bit more than olive garden I love their bread and dipping oil and their food is filling and the staff seemed friendly and inviting, we will always be coming back :)
(4)Franklin D.
There aren't many options for Italian food that I'm aware of near to here. We were coming back from an afternoon in Chicago and wanted something Italian. We used "phone-a-friend" and got this place back as an affordable suggestion. It was about 8:15 when we got there and we were told the wait would be 20 minutes since we didn't have a reservation. it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. The waiter-lady asked us if we'd been there before and we said no. She poured some olive oil on a bread plate and sprinkled parmesan over it and told us how great it was going to taste with the bread. Uhmm, ok we've had oil on bread before, maybe she could have just asked us about that. She left and we waited about 5 minutes before realizing she wasn't coming back with any bread. We asked, and she blamed those lazy old bus persons for the lack of bread. Maybe 5 more minutes went by and she informed us that the bread was just coming out of the oven and would arrive at any second. Another 5 or 10 and we finally flagged a bus boy to bring us some bread. She showed up just after we asked this other guy and sets down a basket of cold bread on the table. Seriously, there was this doughy kind and the center was like they had just got it out of the fridge or something. So what was all that crap about it being in the oven? The bus boy showed up in under 3 minutes with bread, and it was warm. So we waited something like 15 or 20 minutes for cold bread "just out of the oven? Strange. For dinner I got a ceasar and an order of linguine alfredo with scallops but it was a "special", not a regular menu item and it had some other fancy-sounding name. My salad showed up and it was pretty good. My wife got a bruschetta appetizer (gigantic, enough for several people) and an entree of some kind of chicken in red sauce with a bit of pasta under it. I was about 1/3 of the way into my salad when this kid shows up with the dinner plates. He kind of stands there looking at me impatiently when it dawns on me that he is expecting me to get my damn salad out of the way so he can set all this stuff down and get back to more important things. So here we are trying to finish our appetizers, barely enough room for all the stuff on the table and just generally feeling rushed. So ok, fine I lean over to the far left corner of the table where my salad wound up and try to finish that without dropping it all over the place while getting it from way over there in the bowl, all the way back over to my face. I get to the entree and it's like....nothing. The alfredo tastes kind of like maybe there is a hint of cream. The little white scallop looking things have no taste at all. Two times I hit a dime-sized chunk of scallion that gave it a bit of momentary flavor. Really the only thing I could taste was a hint of cream and that someone had put a little cracked pepper on it. Boo. The kids food was a good deal with drink, pizza/spaghetti/nuggets/whatever entree, and a sundae for dessert for $4.99. We got one with cheese pizza and it was gigantic. Kids were really happy with the food. The waiter-lady spent most of the time over at the computer talking to other people and punching things in, or maybe trying to figure out how to punch things in. As a result our drinks were empty most of the time. A few times she cheerfully promised to "be right back!" with that refill for me but it didn't materialize until I finally gave up on my bland entree. The patio looked nice, maybe we will try it if we ever make it back to Biaggi's. I knew we should have stopped by Maggiano's at Streets of Woodfield.

Went to Biaggi's for dinner on a Friday night, the place was packed but we made reservations and were immediately seated upon arrival. The place is big, airy with contemporary bright decor. Service is attentitve without going overboard, and the food was delicious. They offer huge portions and decadent desserts.. this is certainly my new fave local Italian restaurant..

We went to meet friends on a very busy Saturday night. Upon arrival, the hostesses (there were 2 or 3 of them) informed us that the other two people in our party had already arrived and had been given a pager. We looked, looked, and couldn't find them. I asked if, perhaps, they were mistaken and had already seated them. Absolutely not. So, we kept looking. Nowhere to be found. We insisted that our friends WERE NOT in the restaurant, and they said they would page them. Someone came up to the desk, but it was not our party. We did, after much confusion, realize there were two parties of 4 with the same name. However, we still couldn't find our party. After 20 minutes, our friends called our cell phone (which we had already tried, but it was so noisy in the restaurant, neither of us heard) and told us they had been seated 20 minutes ago. When I informed the hostesses, who denied REPEATEDLY that they had seated anyone, they just shrugged and said, "sorry," That's what you get when you hire pretty, 17 yr old, anorexic, eye-candy to hostess for your restaurant. This is the reason for the 4 stars. Because, other than the ridiculous 20 minute comedy of errors, everything else was great. Our server, Gwen was amazing. She never hurried us, (we were there from 7:20 to 10:45) and was friendly, and absolutely perfect. We brought 3 different bottles of wine, and she never balked at opening any of them for us. The food was delicious. Everyone loved theirs, I thought mine was "okay." It was a special. Turbot over greens, cannelini beans and a light broth. The fish was too soft. The whole dish needed a fish with more depth. I'd never had Turbot before, so perhaps it's just too delicate for this mixture. All in all, I don't like being seated in the back room (where we were this time) in between two huge parties. It feels like we're an appendage. Next time I will make my preference known. Other than that, exceptional service, really good food, very reasonably priced. We'll be back.

Try the tomato sherry soup, your taste buds will thank you. Crouton's are fantastic too.

Delicious!!!!!!! Something for everyone. There tends to be a long wait, make a reservation. You still may need to wait, but not as long. Regardless, its worth the wait.

My yelper's, THIS IS THE BEST ITALLIAN RESTURAUNT EVER! I have loved it ever since i was 8 and I am still in love with it. You must go here for the delux food thrills and amazing service.

I would take this over Rosebud in Schaumburg ANYDAY and it's close to home. Thanks for the good food, service and hospitality. We waited five mins for our seat, big deal, rec'd suggestions, AND my husband is wheat intolerant so they had a GLUTEN FREE menu! Yeah! (so does Bonefish!) We were so happy when we left and will go again. BTW, my friend had the crab pasta roll, and her hubs had the osso bucco. SOO delicous. Caesar salad was tasty and could have fed a small country.

Went in for lunch a couple weeks ago. I ordered a soup and half sandwich. Both were surprisingly flavorful and very fresh tasting. I'll definitely come back with the GF for dinner and give them a shot.

I came on the recommendations of m co-workers, who praised and exalted that this was the best, no no, THE BEST Italian restaurant in this area. Perhaps I should not have taken the recommendations to heart because it may have affected my expectations. The food here does not taste like Olive Garden, but I was expecting more. I'll give it another try and perhaps it was just one of those days, but the noodles and the pasta sauce was nothing spectacular, especially for the price.

Get in your car and drive the 40 min to Maggiano's. I know the bar is low this far out of the city, but this place was not even worth going to for convenience sake. Wait staff was pleasant, only reason I didn't leave after I got my drink. Probably the worst Cosmo I ever had, it was more like Crystal Light and not even Grey Goose could redeem it.
(2)Allen L.
My favorite Italian chain hands down! The place looks nice on the inside and is big, so it's great for large groups. Service was normal, nothing to rave about...but the food was great! I love the bruschetta and lobster alfredo pasta. The only downside is that the pricing is a little higher otherwise I would eat there more often. For something cheaper, but almost just as good I like Macaroni Grill. Other than that, I love this place!
(5)Jake P.
Very good. Nice atmosphere - comfortable. Great service. We had the bruschetta and carpaccio - both very good. I had the stuffed chicken with lemon and that was great too. My husband had something with seafood and he loved it. So overall a very pleasant night!
(4)Danielle S.
I really did not expect to love this as much as I did. I've only been here once, and ordered the Shrimp and Crab Cannelloni. It was completely divine. Service was very, very good, and yes, the decor makes you think the prices will be a bit higher than they are. I will likely be back someday, and will probably order the same thing. Yum.
(4)Larry B.
c'mon. this is one step up from Olive garden.
(2)Richard K.
Quality Italian food for the price. Calamari execeptional. We did get a bad dessert but the manager comp'd it and gave us a new one. I'm a tough 5 star giver.....but service, quality, price....can't be beat in the area.

This restaurant is great! My husband and I go there every week or two. This is our favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is great. The waiters and manager are very friendly and attentive. My husband loves the Picanate Pizza and always enough left to take home and it's only $10! We share a salad, all of the salads are excellent. I usually get the shrimp and pasta dish that is yummy. The bread and olive oil is so good! We love this restaurant. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

My bridal shower was hosted here a few days ago and guests are still raving about the food. It was such a lovely event. We had a large private room with a fireplace that was beautifully setup. Guests were served mimosa's on trays when they arrived which was super special. Glasses were never left empty. We also had a punch bowl of red sangria and it was entirely gone because it was so good. The food was impressive and delicious. We had a five course meal with appetizers, followed by salad, then a very yummy alfredo pasta dish to share. Guests were able to choose between three entrees for their meal, chicken parmesan, pizza, or salmon. Everyone was really impressed that they had a choice! The food was absolutely amazing! The chef here is incredible. After a few games and opening presents we were served a light tiramisu for dessert. I even received a double dessert with a slice of lemon cake as the bride. We were also offered coffee and cappuccino with our dessert. The serves was outstanding! All the food was served together and was hot and fresh. Finished plates were promptly removed too. We never were looking for our server, she was always right there. They even took the gifts out to the car for me! It was truly an amazing place to host a shower. The food and service made it such an elegant event. I love that guests are still talking about it. I've had a lot of feedback that it was the nicest shower they've been too. I highly recommend Biaggi's for dinner and also for your group events.

Is is not enough to say that Biaggi's is not a real Italian restaurant. This should be immediately obvious to even the most casual observer. After all, it is a chain establishment. To be as accurate as possible, I must suggest that this chain is not a restaurant at all, but rather a glorified kitchenette. I am quite certain that no actual 'cooking' takes place here, as all of the fare sampled during our recent visit had the distinct air and flavor of items recently heated in a microwave oven. Unfortunately, I would have preferred items from the freezer aisles of my local grocery store to the Four Cheese Ravioli that was placed before me. While these statements might seem hyperbolic, I assure the reader that Biaggi's is little more than a fast food joint dressed up with white table clothes. Literally. Our food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. This is disturbingly fast. But, perhaps this is a positive for you, dear reader. If so by all means, enjoy! Our waiter, John, was helpful, polite and attentive.
(2)George G.
As far as service, 5 stars. The wait staff was attentive and polite. Probably some of the best service I've had in a long time. My complaints were with the menu and overall good that was served. I was there with a group. Everyone ordered something different. I personally ordered the almond pesto chicken. It was ehhh. I wouldn't get it again. I can appreciate a lighter menu option like this. But the chicken wasn't consistent, the veggies were just off. The dish was too tart. I wish there was more pesto. I had barely none. Everyone else enjoyed their food to some degree. I think the 2 people who ordered the chicken salads had the best entrees. The crab cakes were good. I would be back in a group setting because of how well they accommodate. But I probably wouldn't be back if it was just me and another. The taste (for me) was lacking.
(3)Lee G.
Had a really good lunch here. Soup and salad combo is a good deal. I must say the service was excellent and top notch. Very friendly staff.
(5)Lydia B.
Delicious Italian food for a chain! I love the bread before the meal as well! Their pasta is really good, and for the price compared to Olive Garden or similar chains, there is no comparison!
(4)Mark E.
Great food and service! I loved my Chicken Parm, best I've had! The Seafood pasta was also exceptional. Highly recommend that you eat here if you like quality and authentic Italian dishes. Portions of food are also huge, can easily satisfy larger appetites that average. Do not miss the opportunity to dine here if given the chance, you will absolutely not regret it!

Let me tell you a little bit about the location - it is located on the Algonquin Commons complex and the entrance of it is not completely visible from the Randall Rd side.. But the decor of this place was really nice and the prices of the dishes seemed a bit on the expensive side first at first glance, but let me tell you it was worth it. The server was super friendly and answered all the questions I had and came and checked back quite a few times if I had any other questions, which I felt was pretty genuine. We were a party of three and gone there for dinner, an hour away from closing time and the place was pretty much empty. We got a plate of bread - which turned out to be cold and a little too hard, which was so-so. I had started off with the Lobster Corn Soup, which was really good. My friends ordered the Chicken Pietro which she said had a lot of dressing, so it was Ok. My veggie friend had to order the Farfalle Alfredo (without the chicken) since the Ravioli was over [he was so looking forward to that :( ]. I got the Shrimp & Crab Cannelloni which was really really good.. The funny thing is - soup and the sauce here had the same texture since both were Lobster cream :D :D.. We finished it off with a Tiramisu and White chocolate Bread Pudding, both were really really good.. I was really surprised that the desserts looks really good on plate and to both the eyes as well as the mouth :).. I guess you can expect to spend about 25 - 30 bucks a head here for some good food and good time !! I am removing one star for the missing food and the blunder which server did, he asked my friend if she wanted to box the Chicken Pietro and she said YES, he forgot about it completely, so did we !! :| Anyhow it was overall good experience :)

Not a great experience tonight. My favorite salad "seared salmon salad" that I have been having every time I come here for the past 4 years is quickly decreasing in quality but increasing in price. The lettuce was more wilty than usual and it closely resembled the lettuce I would be served on a Chili's $10 salad. We did let the server know and the manager bought us a dessert (lemon layer cake) which was also not as good as I remember. We really appreciated that however I would prefer a better than a free dessert.

Biaggi's never fails me. If I want great food and great service at a decent price, this is the place to go. First off, their focaccia bread is awesome. Dip it in the oil/parmesan dip and I could make a meal out of just that. They also serve Italian bread. Everything I have had on the menu has been delicious (mostly pastas). They have a lunch special for a half pasta and salad for $9.99-$10.99. For the amount of food that you get, it is a steal! Their wine selection is very good too. We shared a boccetta and that was enough for about a glass and a half for each of us. The service is always great - they are attentive, friendly, and knowledgable. Plates are always cleared and drinks are always full. I have yet to have a bad experience!

This place is, hands down, mine and my wife's favorite place to eat in the Algonquin area. It's a fancy enough place for a nice date or anniversary dinner and, at the same time, you can also just go in there for something more chill, like a drink at the bar or lunch in the outside sitting area. The prices are fair, staff is always friendly, and the food is fantastic (loveee their fried calamari). I honestly can't find a thing I don't like about this place!
(5)Melissa B.
This place is on par with Tuscany as the best 2 Italian places in the suburbs. I did not rate it 5 stars due to the awful dessert I had. I was ecstatic to finally find another Italian place I can return to! I am part Italian so I am VERY biased about so called "Italian" places. I had butternut squash ravioli with walnuts. Simply devine. I had a glass of Shiraz which for some reason was so good and perfect. SOOOO disappointed by dessert though as I am a huge dessert fan. I was so excited to see warm donuts listed as a dessert. When they arrived, they looked like chunks of meat on a plate. They tasted like fried oil. Borderline gross. Nothing to dip them in. They did come with a small scoop of ice cream which helped take some of the nasty taste away. Dave and Busters and Olive Garden does this dessert 10 times better.

It was my first time dining here and boy was I wowed. From the service to the food to the cleanliness, it was great. I had the spaghetti and although it sounds basic it was far from basic! The flavors were absolutely great. Also the free bread wasn't just basic French it was seasoned and has flavor to it

We were a large party of 22 people, so we were a little different group than the typical diners. Overall really good. Service was fantastic and totally coordinated on ensuring that all orders were brought out on time. Friendly, accommodating and spot on for dealing with our needs. Food was a mix. My wife's filet was over cooked and transformed into some strange, mealy hunk of flesh. Actually pretty good, but just wierd. My Scallop Risotto was good, but like you 23 rice grains of risotto .... but scallops were tasty. The rest of the party really enjoyed it. Nice drink selection, great desserts, and good service. Just and inconsistent food quality. Note: This is a group consensus, each opinion varied wildly.

OMG I have been coming here for years and I just went again when my boyfriend was in town. What a nice place! The food, service, and prices are great! I don't come here often enough, but it is a perfect date spot.
(5)Gina L.
Stopped here for dinner last night and as usual, the food and the service were very good. I had the chicken parmasean . The chicken was crispy and very flavorful and included two fairly good portions. It came with some spaghetti which was "meh" . As an appetizer we got the calamari. Also pretty good, but could have been cooked just a tad more. Being Italian, I know you never want to overcook calamari as it can then be tough, but if undercooked, you kind of feel like you're eating a raw squid rolled in batter. Overall it was pretty good with just a few pieces in there that could have been done a little more. Bread was good. Would have been better if it came to the table warm but still tasty. The server was on the ball and attentive.

2/21/15 Delicious food, prompt attentive and informed servers, pleasing atmosphere nearly everything you could possible as for. Arrived late for our reservations because I became lost, but our table was ready and we were treated wonderfully. I would give them five stars however the acoustics where we were seated made our conversation a little difficult, primarily because of the exuberant dinners seated nearby. Still a beautiful restaurant and an wonderful experience, I highly recommend and would return.
(4)Theresa V.
This place is fantastic. The food is excellent and very affordable. Starting off with the complimentary bread, olive oil and Parmesan cheese that's to die for. To the delicious lobster corn chowder that's out of this world. The pastas are delicious, never disappointing. The service is great. Very clean inside. Highly recommended.

I decided to take my mom there for a belated Mother's Day meal. She and my dad have really enjoyed their several experiences there and so she requested we go there. We arrived at shortly after 6 on a busy Saturday evening. We were kindly informed it would be an hour wait, which wasn't an issue as there are plenty of other stores to visit within a short walk. We came back about 30 minutes later expecting a little longer of a wait, but were surprised to be promptly seated. We sat close to the kitchen which normally is not desirable, but with a lively, (sometimes almost too) noisy atmosphere elsewhere, it was hardly an issue. The lighting felt a bit dim, especially for Mom; however, it was definitely workable. Jesus our waiter was prompt and delivered excellent service throughout our meal. We ordered a delicious beet-arugula salad and bacon-wrapped figs for appetizers. The fresh bread and oil mix was standard; I liked the focaccia bread best. For our main course Mom got the char over spinach and potatoes and for me it was shrimp risotto. The risotto was done very nicely and the shrimp was flavorful. The char was good, however having a bite or two I can't say I would order it. The atmosphere was lively and at times difficult to carry on a conversation, but attentive service, good food and good company always goes a long way for a return trip. I definitely would enjoy a return trip and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice Italian dining experience.

I've heard a lot of good about this place but when my father (who is 100% Italian) told me to STAY AWAY...I really should have listened. First off, our waitress did not inform my fiance that the iced tea he ordered was in fact flavored..which wouldn't be a big deal but some people just want regular friggin iced tea. Then, we decided to start with the fried ravioli for an appetizer. A good amount came but they were not breaded.. Just...fried. So you ended up with a cracker like, hard dough around a filling of creamy ricotta. I don't know why restaurants insist on this creamy texture. It's not right. For entrees, I ordered the chicken cannelloni and my fiance ordered the butternut squash ravioli. I was served three run of the mill cannellonis...but burnt on the edges. Like they had been put under the broiler. Again with the crunchy pasta...and again with the creamy, tasteless ricotta filling. My fiance's meal was decent but the sauce was soup texture...more like a broth. So eating ravioli in a broth..not so yummy. Overall, the food came out fast but having a fiance in the restaurant industry he quickly stated that if the food came out THAT fast then most of if must be prepared already...just sitting there waiting to be thrown under heat...or a broiler, perhaps? So we wasted 50 bucks and probably the worst "italian" food I have had. Listen to my father..stay away.

Just had a wedding rehearsal dinner for 35 guests here at Biaggis. The food, service, atmosphere, and private room were outstanding! We had several special requests for the Biaggis team and they accomplished all with amazing ease and accuracy Jason and his team get 5 stars for the entire package! Thank you again for a wonderful evening!!!!

Excellent atmosphere!....Food was great along with great cocktails. Service was fantastic!

Beautiful restaurant and nice location in the Algonquin Commons... but definitely overpriced for what you get. Bread and olive oil plate was delicious, loved the rosemary bread, very soft and full of flavor. The other bread was a typical Italian Loaf. Waitress never offered water and was always pushing for more alcohol when we wouldn't even be close to finishing. I also ordered the house Chianti which is priced at $5.79 (GREAT price) and, but then she tried to push the wine special cause "it was only a dollar more" -- I look at the menu and its listed at $7.99, pretty sure that's more than one buck and the Chianti was delicious. Our $9.99 appetizer of Calamari was a joke -- not many pieces at all, though it was cooked perfectly. I have been to places like Ruth Chris and Wildfire and you get a TON more of Calamari and I am pretty sure Wildfire is even cheaper than Biaggis. Now, our food was prepared very, very well. I completely adored my Lite Option of Dijon Crusted Salmon, great portion size and decently priced. My bro-in-laws was almost a slap in the face. For $20 his dish had maybe 8 shrimp with the tiniest amount of salmon and rice. My hubby's pasta dish was good too.. however for a "full" plate there didn't seem to be much. Obviously today's portions are out of control... but when you are spending $15 for pasta with meat sauce, I think you should be getting a fair share of food. We won't be back.
(2)Brenda R.
Eggplant Parmesan was GREAT! Spaghetti and meatballs was ok...only 3 smallish meatballs. Michelle was our server...she was terrific! If nice weather patio looked nice. We would certainly go back the next time we are in town.
(4)Laurence K.
As far as corporate Italian places go this ones pretty good. We started with spinach salad and Greek salad both were quite large fresh vegs and good dressing I had the baked pasta with grilled chicken mushroom and onions Jim had the bolognese both entrees were very good really hit the spot . Great price point too nice beer selection I had new holland cabin fever All in all a great spot for dinner in the area service was very good , Jesus was our server Ask for him Cheers!
(4)Megan S.
My family and I met here for my birthday. Our server was great and knowledgeable about our gluten free diets. I had Chicken Parm. It was really great!
(3)Karen M.
This was our third visit to Biaggis. The first two times were for lunch and we enjoyed it very much. The third time was for dinner and it was not very good. Ambiance = good Crab cake appetizer = excellent Main course = not so good. Manager's attention to problems = excellent 1. My father in law had the ahi tuna salad....they pre-sear the ahi tuna so it's ice cold when they put it on the salad. It was barely seared and not very good. 2. I ordered a filet mignon medium rare...it came out medium. (and the bed of mashed potatoes it came on were gluey). I sent it back and ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese. The quality of meat in the sauce was not good at all and the sliced sausage was poor quality as well. 3. My husband had the chicken parm dinner but has to send it back because it was cold. When a new one arrived hot, he said it was good. . It was not amazing, just ok. The managers offered to buy us dessert for our troubles but we passed on the offer (had too much bread at that point!) Since we didn't have the dessert they presented us with a $15 gift card to use there at another time. If I return to this place, it would only be for the soup and salad lunch as those are the things enjoyed there. The dinner was just not good and left me with no inspiration to return.
(2)David R.
Great service, consistently GREAT food! Servers not only know the menu inside and out, but they are friendly and informative when needed. The kitchen always delivers top quality food - and the bar stocks some of our favorite craft beers!
(5)Vandana K.
Great food and quick service.. Deserts are awesome.. Loved Bruschetta too.. The portion sizes are good too, not too small not too big...
(5)Kristen W.
This place never seems to disappoint. I went for a baby shower a few weeks ago. The food was delicious. As 8 months pregnant, I had to visit the restroom a few times during the event and let me tell you... The bathrooms were disgusting. Absolutely disgusting and not maintained. I don't expect ritz Carlton clean but for a restaurant, they should be better than a port-a-john. There was toilet paper on the floor, overflowing garbage cans, no soap in the dispenser and the stench was just horrific. Even after telling the hostess (who was not doing anything nor did she greet us when we walked in), the bathrooms did not improve one bit in the 3 hours we were there. I could only imagine how they were by the time dinner service began. Gross!!!
(3)Amber E.
The best thing on the menu is the shrimp oreganata- everyone should try it! My hubby loves the pork chops , and the tiramisu is spectacular. You also cannot beat the service here.
(5)Emily P.
My family and I have probably come here 50 times in the past 5 years. We are always treated nicely by the staff, and the food is always supreme. If you aren't satisfied, they will change your meal and help you out. There are also good offers online for free appetizers or desserts! Bathrooms are always clean and very nice. Waiting area is decorated nicely. Everything is always cleaned to perfection. I do, however, miss the boss that worked there a year or two back. He would make his rounds to the tables and greet everyone.

Good food. Tiramisu is awesome :)
