Police Officer Terry of the Albany PD recommended this restaurant during a downstream kayak trip on 6/07-6/08. The ground crew and I stopped in here on 6/07 for dinner. The small restaurant has an open floor plan with several four tops and a few larger tables. Our server, SAM was a friendly and adorable server who was able to make strong recommendations and explain the large menu. There are several specials each night and the menu needed herd navigation. I settle on the fried cod plate with two sides. For an additional dollar I upgraded my side dish to cottage cheese. The cod was crisp, hot, and flavorful. Sam was able to pick any dessert for me, she chose a peanut butter and chocolate pudding. All desserts are made in-house. If this pudding is any indication of the rest of the desserts, do not miss out. We were big fans of Samantha. On Sunday, 6/08 we stopped in for breakfast while the rain came through. Olivia Paige was our server. She too made good recommendations and the breakfast went smoothly. The owner/managers were present both nights and able to walk around and check on patrons. All of the staff seem well trained and the food was solid mid-western through and through. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot to the south of the building. the street nearby is quiet and easy to approach. My only complaint of either meal is the poor condition of the bathroom. Typically, the public areas are a good indication of the condition of the kitchen. I hope this is not the case and I hope the management takes as much time and care with these areas as they would with any other part of the restaurant.

For simple down home fare this is a completely decent place. I was hoping for a river view but that is not the case. Inside is decorated in a simple country style but the old pics of the town were interesting. We ordered a burger and a fiery chicken wrap. The burger was good sized with nice flavor but not the best burger ever. The chicken wrap had a little spice (not a lot) but was filling and tasty. Overall a fine, friendly place for a stop.

My family and I went here for breakfast one morning and really enjoyed it. We have three small children and the waitress was very kind and nice to the kids, helping us when they were getting restless. She even gave us tips on places to go in the area. Prices were average. Food was good. We'll be going back.

This place gets lively with people of all ages around 11:00 on Sunday. It looked like a combination of the church-going crowd and the late risers. I got the Mexican skillet with rye toast on the side and I was very satisfied. It was spicy and had a good amount of meat. Despite the large customer crowd, our server was quick and I never had an empty cup of coffee. I was also really impressed by their extensive menu. The next time I stop in, it'll be for their Mississippi Sandwich, roast beef and au jus.

The staff is always kind and quick. I go here quite a bit since it is the nearest to my home, and I'm never disappointed. Their 'House Chicken' is a favorite, but there's always something equally as good to choose from if I ever want to change it up.

A good, simple meal at a reasonable price. What more could a person want? The only complaint I have is that I couldn't get any vegetables in place of potatoes but I walked out the door happy and content.
