Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We really enjoyed our pizza. The crust was slightly crispy, the cheese was loaded on top, and their pepperoni and sausage was thick and had a lot of flavor. Tip: a large pizza is 14". If you would like a bigger pizza, order a 16 or 18".

I remember this place being good... granted, that was a couple of decades ago... but I went in for a couple of slices during lunch. I paid first ( that was my big mistake ). The guy behind the counter apparently only had 1 slice of sausage pizza available. But, he did have a trick up his sleeve... He had some left over from the night before in the refrigerator... and he didn't try to hide what he was doing... I guess I was sort of shocked, but took the slices. The fresh one was just ok, nothing to write home about, but WHY, when you have a business are you so cheap that you give someone a piece of crap leftover pizza. If I had some left in my refrigerator, that's one thing, but I would expect it to taste like that... TERRIBLE.. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Not crazy about the location which has a very cramped parking lot (minor issue) but the pizza is very good! My Dad gets pizza here all the time so I decided to try it for myself. I got the Uncle Pete's Special which is a little more pricey than average but they're VERY generous with toppings so you definitely get your money's worth, I was full after only 3 squares. I normally get basic thin crust pizza somewhere else which I'm sure they make too but I liked this type as well which was more like pan and loaded to the max. This particular pizza has sausage, mushroom, onion, green pepper, garlic (not too much, just a hint which is perfect), cheese, and topped with a little grated parm. All of my favorite stuff! I'll be back for sure. :)

The pizza here is really good! They use allot of sauce and cheese, the crust has an unique twist to it. They pack on the ingredients also. Simply just a good pizza!

Wanted to love it employees super sweet. I don't care for their pizza too much

Was in town last week from DC and had to get some Chicago thin crust pizza like I grew up with. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The pizza was good, but something was changed. I don't now if it's the sauce or the toppings, but something tasted very different. Will be ordering from Nardi's on Addison Rd. next time!

Our first time ordering here. We did pick up of 1 extra thin crust cheese pizza and 1 thin crust cheese and pepperoni. I was very pleased with both pizzas. They tasted so much fresher than a Papa John's or LIttle Cesar's pizza. The availability of a coupon for a couple of bucks off was nice. I look forward to returning and trying some of the other items on their menu.

I don't know what happened but this is not the pizza I once desired. And I say "desired" because that's how good it used to be. I just drove all the way out there on my birthday to have a taste of that magic pie. What I got was a crushing blow of reality. Things change and so do pizzas. Almost burnt cheese, super hard crust, hardly any sauce. At least the sausage tasted the same but that's not what makes a pizza. I guess I don't have to regret moving away now.

Here's the deal with Pete's. The pizza is killer! The sauce is sweet and they don't skimp on the toppings. The wings are so-so. I ordered the inferno and they barely had a burn. That being said, it's not your neighborhood grab a slice and chillax sorta joint. I think they should step up their game a bit with the decor. There isn't much space to begin with by the pick up window, but they have one or two tables if you wanted to chow down a quick slice and a pop. Then they have a giant leather couch against the wall and a row of coin slot, cheep plastic crap machines like you see in grocery stores. If that was my joint I'd at least have the space open up a bit more for some seating to grab the locals in for a bite. Awesome pizza!

Top quality ingredients and not skimpy - very good customer service - good prices - especially like their monthly e-mail blasts, plenty of good deals - also easy in and out with large private parking right in front - the owner Gary Sinagra is an active participating owner who is very much community oriented -

F'in delicious! Great service, quick delivery, scrumptious eats. Home Run Inn? Sure- if you want to overpay for a pizza that is 1/2 the taste of Pete's. I can't say enough good statements about this place. They have a menu online at unclepetespizzashop.com I enjoyed an Italian beef & hot giardiniera thin-crust pizza and some hot & spicey (yeah, spicey- that's how they spell it on the menu) wings. Only drawback? Hours of operation: M-Th & Sun until 9:30pm, Fri & Sat 11:30pm.

No thanks. I used to order from here all the time. Weekly pizza with the fam from here or a place very closeby (like across the street). The quality and service have gone down. I can no longer keep coming here for subpar pizza after having years of great pizza here. I will return when the pizza is as good as it used to be and the service caring more about business, also apparently a thing of the past now.

Upon seeing a picture that Andres posted on FB of a slice of "pasta pizza" that he tried at Bigby's...I HAD to ask some details and all signs pointed towards Uncle Pete's!! Thanks again A! =]] So I called UP's on a snowy Friday asking all about what they could do for me in the form of a pasta pizza. I told her that I would like a fettucini Alfredo with grilled chicken, broccoli and sauteed mushrooms stuffed (well, pan actually, but you get the idea) pizza. And she said that they had just made the spaghetti with sausage pan pizza for the awesome guys over at Bigby's so of course they could do it for me!! Amazing customer service, I must add!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE places that don't tell you "no"...that's like one of my favorite things in the whole world. Literally. Mainly cause I don't like anyone telling me "no", but that's besides the point...I LOVE it! =]] So I drove 45 min from VP to Addison in a snowstorm to pick up this like 7 pounds of deliciousness to find out the charge was only $27!! A total steal BTW! Now to the good stuff...the pasta pizza itself. It was awesome! Period. If you've never tried such a thing you must call UP's and ask them to create one just for you!! It was gooey, cheesy and had lots of chicken, broccoli and mushrooms! We had five people here eating it and still had about 1/4 of the pizza left, if not a little more. Run...seriously..don't walk...run to get yourself one, well, and I'm sure the run couldn't hurt since the food to follow is creamy, cheesy deliciousness!!! HA! =]] Thanks Uncle Pete's for making my pizza pasta dream come true!

Another round of Try Every Pizza Place. Now, I must admit: I was wary of ordering from Uncle Pete's. Why? Because of that creepy-ass logo. Sorry, that dude looks like he's about to pluck some of his mustache hairs out and put it on top of your pizza. Creeeee-py. But we figured we couldn't really discriminate against them for that -- Uncle Pete's deserved a chance. So a large cheese thin crust it was. Called in the order, went to pick it up 20 minutes later.... and it hadn't gone into the oven yet. Say what?? This place is approximately 2 miles from us and it took a full 40 minutes to arrive home with it. Sad. Some serious disorganization going on here. (Also note that when we called, and clearly stated "for pickup," dude on the phone started asking for our address. Hmm.) The pizza WAS good. The crust had some flavor, the cheese was nice and salty and plentiful, some good herbs on top and a tasty, not-too-oozy sauce. So four stars for the pizza. But I really have to subtract a star for the utter disorganization. Large cheese, guys, pick up in 20 minutes, this isn't rocket science.

Uncle Petes can't be beat! Can't go a week without my Petes!

The pizza is good, which is the only reason I continue to put up with such company disorganization. Constant delays and rude service. Won't have it delivered because the three times we did, it was the wrong order completely. The girl upfront is incompetent when taking orders and solving simple math adjustments. Every time we have a problem there is no attempt to rectify the situation other than remake your pizza which is another long wait. Make sure they get that one right before walking away. I would say try Rosati's across the street or Nardi's. Both make great pizzas as well and have awesome service!

LOVE IT!! Got the italian beef with giardenia pizza. I'm quite sure this is the same Uncle Pete's that used to be in Lombard. They used to be my go to pizza place when I lived in that area in the 90s. I don't think I've ever gotten anything but the italian beef on the pizza because, c'mon how much more Chicago does it get? Add a hot dog? lol. Nice guys too. I used their yelp $20 for $40 deal and scored 2 family size pizzas. Mil grazie Uncle Pete's! Muaahh.

If you order onion rings I guess all you get is a big bag of burt left overs... Horrible... I didn't bother to call. I just won't order from here anymore. Their are plenty of other restaurants to order from.

The Calzones rock!!!!!! Love this place.

Un-cle Pete's! Lots of sausage! On my pizza! Hooray! I've got mad cheerleading skillz! I was just remembering my pizza from last night, and wishing I had more. Good thing that this place is only 5 minutes from my house! I got the 18" pizza to share with my friends, with sausage and mushrooms, and it rocked! With other pizza places, I'm fighting for the crust pieces. I can honestly say, with pizza from Uncle Pete's, the WHOLE pizza is something to enjoy! They can count on me as a loyal customer from now on.

A loyal patron for nearly 20 years, in that time I can think of perhaps 2 times we ever had a problem. When mentioned to the owner they always made it right. We get the coupons in the clipper magazine and at times save as much as 5 bucks on our order. The joint is in a strip mall and carry out / delivery only. The toppings are generous and the crust is good too. I love the leftovers for lunch. There is cheaper pizza in my hood but Uncle Petes is worth it. Give Mom the night off!

My family has ordered from Uncle Pete's for as long as I can remember - it has to be at least 25-30 years. The pan pizza is some of the best I have ever had - including Chicago offerings. The sausage is homemade and the crust ends up being bigger than your head when you cut it apart from your slice! The owners are super nice and always donated for school functions too. I'm so glad this place is still in business and doing so well.
