Was great to get some good word-fired pizza after a disappointing experience at Mariano's the other day! We ordered a Margarita and Funghi. Prices are great. The Margarita was PERFECT, very thin, flavorful, perfectly cooked. On the other hand we found the Funghi to be too salty and a bit overcooked... probably just a fluke considering the perfection of the other pizza. As an apology for the small wait, the incredibly friendly owner offered up a couple sodas on the house, insisting on it. He gave us the good stuff too, Pellegrino orange and blood orange sodas! (Love the blood orange oh man.) Will definitely be back to try some other pizzas.

Great pizza, made just the way you get it in Italy. Owners and staff are really friendly and food comes hot and fast. This is my favorite brick oven pizza place in Chicago. My only hope for improvement... They need to expand... TheY have a great product so they can bring in a crowd. But in time, I'm sure they will double or triple in size. Try any of the pizza's, Burrata, Caprese or the Sicilian sampler. Try this place out, you won't be disappointed. Anyone saying differently are used to your fast food franchise American pizza places.

It's a super casual pizza place with an upscale wood burning, Naples style pizza oven? Yes please! Loved it. If you know Naples style pizza then get to Elio's. This is not Chicago style pizza, more like New York style with a chewy crust. Sauce was not sweet nor chunky. Toppings were generous but not too much. I'm not a cult of personality person but the owner was genuinely warm and friendly, it really improves the experience when you know the guy watching over your dinner cares whether or not you're enjoying it. The pizzas are good for 2 if you get an appetizer but if you're a big eater get your own. My husb and I each ordered a pie and each took half home. He got the Bufalo mozzarella pie. That one is all about the special mozzarella. I got the Capricciosa pie with ham, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and cured olives, a nice combo of savory toppings of varying saltiness. The crust was crisp and chewy. The wood fire oven gives it a distinct flavor and texture. The ingredients were fresh and sliced the right size in order to be cooked perfectly in the short time a neopolitan pie is in the very hot oven. We started with a Caesar Salad to share and the dressing was not the creamy mess you get some places, it was homemade I think, very flavorful with homemade croutons and thick slices of aged cheese. We got dessert to go. The tiramisu is definitely homemade, it was creamy and it was delicious. Even though we make it here at home for special occasions, I would order it again at Elio's. It's a small place, maybe 8 tables and a counter, reminded me if the neighborhood pizza place where I grew up in NY except with a wood burning oven. I heard them chopping wood out back! I'll totally drive an hour each way to go eat here again. I didn't want to write this and tell everyone how good it is because it might get too big and famous but it's been on TV so secret's out. Really good.

I'm a loyal fan of Elio's - I've eaten their pizza at least 10x's or more since they opened. It's in my area, they make a classic Italian wood fired pizza, I've met Elio, he is a super friendly guy who has gone out of his way for me on various occasions and they have 'light' delicious wood fired pizza that I crave when I want pizza that is not heavy or makes me feel gross. But something has been different here over the past few months....pizza is not as consistent as it used to be. More mistakes on orders. Sometimes pizza is overly charred, sometimes it is soggy. I've ordered the baked barese panzerotti's recently (delicious here) with no capers and I get capers in mine - twice this has happened & in addition they have been skimping on the filling. I know Elio opened a second location in Lincoln Park and I have an inkling that when the cat's away, the mice will play...hmmm...yes I certainly do. Cause if Elio was making the pizzas, I would not feel let down. I have heard he is at the new location more & haven't seen him as much in Addison, and that's OK, but your staff and pizza maker need a serious talk!!!!!! Cause I really really don't want to knock off any stars, and I shouldn't have to! This location needs more attention Elio...

3.5 stars really... great pizza and selection, location, and fast service. The service was fast but just ok and the price/value wasn't satisfactory for me. Yes, I'm cheap, but I think $11 for a single pizza is a bit over priced. $9 bruschetta- same - overpriced. Let's talk pizza... I love their dough and that it is brick oven baked, so amazing. I think my problem is that I hold every pizza joint against the pizza joints in Italy... I know, I know, I should go back to Italy and never eat pizza here so I can stop complaining. Ok, got it!. The freshness and taste of the ingredients are ok, but to give it a fair chance, next time I come back, I will try something different. I am dying to be blown away. I ordered margherita pizza and added italian sausage. The best thing about this pizza was the dough... the toppings-- mehhhh... The bruschetta was pretty straight forward- I got the "mix" so there were 3 traditional with tomatoes, 3 with artichokes, 3 with eggplants, they were great! I will most definitely come back to try their other pizzas and their crepes. I have very high hopes! Enjoy your pizza!

This place is a disappointment. A major disappointment. We came on a thrusday night. Service was horrible. We sat down, were given menu's and then ignored for like 15 min. The owner comes by to ask how our meal was, and we tell him that we hadn't even ordered yet. He took the order and put it in, and brought the drinks himself. ($2.25 for a soda is too much). The waitress brings the pizza, and we don't see her again. After we are done, we're waiting for a while. She's just sitting their talking with a bunch of friends. The pizza itself was horrible. No oregano, no flavor to the sauce, and the cheese was this imitation cheese that had a huge pool of oil in the middle. As you picked it up, the slice would come apart. No spatula, or cutter to cut it...we used our knives to do it ourselves. The sizes were horrendous. My 4 and 7 year old finished a cheese pizza by them selves, and were still hungry. My wife and I had another for ourselves, and the same. Save yourself the time, and money. Pop in a frozen pizza, or get a $5 pizza from somewhere else and save yourself the trouble.

This place is OK but not in the same league as Chicagoland's other Neapolitan pizzerias. We ate at Spacca Napoli the night before, so we had an immediate basis for comparison. These pizzas should have a char on the crust, but one side of each of our pizzas was simply burned. Limited and uninteresting beer and wine selection. Pricing was fair.

I'd go with 3.5 if I could so 3 it is. This is a small place in a small strip of stores. It's a little hard to see from the road - we passed it initially and had to turn around. Tight parking in kind of a weird spot but we got in and out ok so that was fine. We got seated right away. The inside is pretty small - it's a very cozy place, to be sure. It took a few minutes to get our orders taken. Drinks arrived - the pop is in cans - but the pizzas took a few minutes longer to make. It was pretty busy so that was ok. We ordered a white pizza and a regular sausage pizza. I'm not usually a white pizza fan but this one, which had lots if cheese and extra-crispy prosciutto on it, was very very good. Excellent crust and great flavors. The sausage was ok - the crust was a little done and the sausage had a flavor we weren't used to. It wasn't bad but I think we all liked the white pizza better. They did both have a nice wood fire taste to them. Cost-wise, we probably couldn't have fed 4 adults for less. It's a pretty good deal for the amount of food.

Came across Elio Pizza on Fire when I was reading local news online. Close to us, and decided to go there for dinner. One of the best decisions I've ever made, when it comes to food. It's in a small strip mall, you may miss it if you're driving fast down Lake Street. Parking minimal but we didn't have any trouble looking for one since it was on a thursday night. We had Pizza Rustica and it was good. Family also had Elio Super salad. Will definitely be back here again.

Elio Pizza on Fire is a cute little place, it's a family owned business. It's hidden in a strip mall with a small parking lot. The place is not so big, but enough for you to come and sit down for a quick bite to eat. It has about 7 granite tables of 4 and 6 high top chairs by the cooking bar with a window view of them making their pizzas. The one time I waited for my pizza, the place did get pretty warm due to the huge brick wood oven. I wonder how this place would feel when it comes to summer time. I'll be sure to be eating my pizza outside then. I noticed, the Addison locals come here speaking Italian, kissing cheek to cheek. They have a friendly staff and they have two flat screen tvs to watch while you are eating your meals. They now serve real plates and silverware, before it was those paper plates and utensils. I see that they serve wine and beer here as well. The pizzas are Neapolitan style and the owner even chops their own wood for the oven. Something like hickory, apple and maple wood. They use floured surface for the pizza, not cornmeal. And it takes the pizza just a couple of minutes in the oven and BAM, delicious crispy crust on the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. And the toppings fresh ingredients and so simply made. Even the Hungry Hound came here, there's a video of the owner I've tried mostly take out, but I plan to come here to sit down and enjoy my meal one of these days. I enjoy their pizzas, but they also sell fresh focaccia artisan sandwiches, traditional sandwiches, salads, and two types of pizzas (red sauce or extra virgin olive oil base). And don't forget Italian desserts too. So for, I've tried the following: Quadrifoglio (mozzarella, fresh greens-spinach/arugula/radicchio/grated cheese flakes, EVOO), Rucolina (mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto, parm cheese flakes, EVVO), Sausage with mushrooms, Pepperoni, and Hawaiian all were so good. I think you can also request certain toppings for you pizza so don't be shy to just ask and for how much. But my favorite is the sausage and mushrooms. The size of the pizza can feed two adults or if you're really hungry then plenty for 1 adult. The Nutella crepe was nicely done. It was equal part crepe with Nutella, I'd get this again. It's enough for two or lets be greedy plenty for 1. I checked their website, I wish there was more appetizers and a better view of their menu. It's kind of hard to read what the ingredients are in their specialty pizzas, you can't even expand the menu so tiny writing. I want to save a tree please, so update your menu. Overall, I'll have to go back and try their other items like their freshly made Focaccia sandwiches and salads. But a MUST to have a pizza too lol chow!

Ordered a pick-up just before closing. Owner took the order and gladly made it despite the fact when we went to pick it up the chairs were already up on the tables. Looked, smelled, tasted fabulous. I hate docking a few stars, but I was so very disappointed with my last visit. The pizza was so soft and floppy that I felt like I was in a completely different restaurant. Everything I loved so much about their pizzas was gone! No crunch whatsoever. I felt like I was eating a large breadstick with cheese on top. Our waitress just wore a tank top and skin tight sweats that made her look as if she was lounging around at home getting ready for bed. Sorry, that last detail bothered me a little. I figure if you're working in the service industry, you should wear something that is more appropriate. We also wanted the bill to be split in half, but somehow one receipt had 2 pizzas on it while the other had 1. I guess she didn't understand basic math either, or just couldn't figure out how to split the bill on the credit card machine. I thought that would be a common request amongst diners! Oh well. I would like to return in hopes that the pizza I loved so much will be back...it may have simply been a different person making the pizzas. If so, there needs to be more consistency.

I've lived in Addison for 5.5 years and have been doing it wrong all along. Because, dear friends, I was eating inferior pizza for the duration. Standard chain delivery or dine in was my dinner du jour. The time had come to step up my game. I'm training for a marathon. I need carbs. Delicious, satisfying carbs. My training buddy turned me on the the delight that is carb loading with pizza. I was a little leery of this tactic, but resolved to give it a try. Now, all my long runs will be brought to you by Elio pizza, woodfired to perfection and consumed with reckless abandon. My husband and I went here and wedged ourselves into one of the highly sought after tables on a Saturday night. What the service and ambiance lacks the food makes up for. I don't care if I have to eat the pizza in a back alley, I'll do it. We ordered the mixed bruschette because choices are hard. The eggplant bruschetta is amazing - there's sweet and savory and salt notes throughout that just make the toasted Italian bread beneath sing with delight. I was concerned I might be full by the time the pizza arrived, but I was sufficiently motivated to soldier on once I got a whiff of that delightfully toasted cheese atop a slightly charred thin crust and delicately places pepperoni slices. This was a great change from the stuffed pizza pies our are is known for for. The crust was crunchy and thin, leaving me full but still ready to hit the road the next morning. Dessert didn't have a chance in hell stacked up next to that pizza, but there's always next time. I can't wait to try all the unique combinations - I think the Buffalito will be next on my plate.

Quality ingredients top their perfectly crispy thin crusts that they pluck from their fire oven. As soon as I read over their menu & saw they have several different kinds of mozzarella that they use for different pizzas, I knew I had to give them a try. You won't find the "supreme" or a pepperoni pizza in this place. But what you will find is damn good pizza. Although, they do have two pizzas on their menu I was not expecting, an Italian Beef one and a BBQ Chicken one, which I thought was odd, but I guess they are popular as well. I called ahead for pick up and got the Ortolana pizza (grilled veggies & mozzarella) & the Rustica pizza (smoked mozzarella, speckled proscuitto & oregano). Both were good but the grilled veggie pizza didn't travel so well (it was a 30 min trip home from the restaurant, so I don't blame them) so it was a bit softer than if we had eaten it right away - still tasty, though. The Rustica was absolutely delicious! We'll definitely be working our way through their menu in the future...

Wow... Addison is definitely getting some great food places worth checking out! Here's the scoop on Elio: Sicilian roots, they came over and eventually decided to switch from a bar that has food as a side, to a pizza place that has drinks on the side... and a great choice to switch it was! His wife was there to consistently check on us, chat with my 1 yr old nephew, and tell us about their history. Elio tells me his pizza isn't Neapolitan, and based on his bake times and crust, he's right. His crust is crisper on the outside, but still light and airy (not soft) after you bite in, and it's a very solid pizza! He makes a pizza that suits his tastes, which is what any great pizza maker does... customizes to what he likes, and shares it with the world! My sister, sleeping nephew, and I tried the following (well, the sleeping nephew didn't really eat... just woke up and checked out the flickering flame decorations the whole time): Margherita - A pretty standard pizza, I like to see how this is made at different places. Basil is shredded and put on with dollops of fresh mozz. Nice, clean, simple flavors, as always, one of my favorites. Capricciosa - My sister, having just come back from Rome, was craving artichokes. This pizza had it, along with fresh mushrooms, olives, and thin slices of ham. Let me tell you, this pizza was LOADED. Unlike the more traditional Neapolitan style, every bite was packed with different toppings... very generously loaded, and the combination worked well! Verdict: Spectacular customer service, wonderful pizza, very reasonable prices. I look forward to bringing the wife here to have a meal in the future! Insider tip: Elio and his wife revealed to me that they're about to open in Lincoln Park for their second location! City dwellers, keep an eye out... Elio himself will be making the commute to make sure the pizza is up to par!

I've been to Elio's a few times since my first visit. What I've learned is I started out pretty strong. The Biancaneve is still my favorite pizza that I've tried. Since then I've tried the bacon and Hawaiian pizzas. The bacon pizza was almost too floppy to eat. The bacon wasn't crisp so it just tasted like ham. Not to say it wasn't a good pizza, it was still yummy, just not what I was expecting. The Hawaiian pizza was pretty yummy, and a bit adventurous for me. I never thought I'd actually try it, but the other person I was with wanted to try it. It was pretty delicious!

Omg my boyfriend and I went here last night in effort to find a New York style pizza in our area. BUT OMG we got a lot more than that!!!!! This was by far the best pizza we've ever had. It's a very little family owned restaurant decorated with an Italian touch. The wood burning oven keeps the place nice and warm. We sat right by the oven and saw all of the deliciousness coming out of the oven. There were only two people running it. The person making the pizzas and one server. So if it's a busy day, be prepared to wait. We gladly waited. And boy, it was worth it!!!! We ordered two pizzas. I ordered that Margherita pizza Rossa and my boyfriend ordered the Italian Beef pizza Rossa. It was beyond delicious. I want to go back again today!!!!! I definitely suggest this place. I'm not even one for pizza. But I LOVE this pizza.

I tried Elio's last week and loved it, what a hidden gem! We came with a large group and started out with the Caesar salad and the assorted bruschettas. The salad portion was enormous and fresh, definitely a win. The bruschettas were the real star of the beginning of the meal though, each was better than the last. I fell totally in love with the artichoke bruschetta, the artichokes were perfectly seasoned and not too heavy, I could eat them everyday! For my meal I had the rucolina pizza. The crust was so light and crispy and definitely hit home on the brick oven front. I also tried the Hawaiian and the 4 Formaggi, both were also excellent. I would highly recommend Elio Pizza on Fire to anyone looking for good pizza in the suburbs. It's a family owned business that definitely cares about it's product which results in an outstanding meal.

The pizza was rocking! I don't want there to be any confusion about that, but our visit to Elio's was weird. As we were walking up, we commented that the open sign wasn't lit up. I started to think that maybe they were closed at 2pm on a Saturday. We tried the door and it opened. They just didn't have their sign on. When we walked in, a young girl curtly acknowledged us. There were four of us standing there. We would like to eat. This seemed foreign to her. Moving along, we took a seat and she brought over menus. We ordered drinks. A diet coke, an ice water, an iced tea, a sprite and an orange fanta. We were informed that they don't have ice. I'm sorry. This is weird. Isn't it? What restaurant doesn't have ice? We end up with cans of pop and the plastic cups that other reviewers mention. I guess that I'm fine with the plastic cups and paper plates, but would prefer that they were a bit more green with plates and cups that they wash. It's a lot of garbage especially when they are throwing away plates and cups that people didn't even use. We were trying to decide on an appetizer, but two of them just had a random name and they weren't described on the menu. We asked the waitress what they were. She didn't know, but said she would ask. I'm glad she offered to find out or I think I would have been done right then and there. The cook came out and described the two apps. We ordered a caprese salad and shrimp cocktail. Five minutes later, the waitress comes back to inform me that they are out of shrimp. I am annoyed. Places run out of things and I should be more empathetic, but the waitress was not informed. About anything. If you're out of shrimp, tell the waitress so she can inform the guests when they order. I don't eat caprese salad, so I just watched the rest of our party eat. They needed salt and pepper. There wasn't any on any of the tables, so we requested it. The poor, uniformed waitress didn't know if they had a salt and pepper shaker. The cook knew and directed her to the set. She brought over almost empty shakers. Again...weird. We had ordered a panini and three pizzas. My son liked his panini, but only ate half because he really liked the pizza instead. My sister and her husband had two pizzas. One was covered in roast beef and the other had prosciutto and some other things. I went with a white pizza and added prosciutto. I was expecting crispy prosciutto. It was just tossed on after the pizza came out of the oven, so it was lukewarm and chewy. I took a bite of the pizza and the entire slice of prosciutto came off with it. The flavors were good. The crust fantastic! But the execution (on my pizza) was off. Weird. The pizzas that they had were great and they really enjoyed that portion of the meal. A couple other things to mention. The menu is projected on a screen when you first walk in. Cool. This is probably helpful for making menu updates easily. They have a couple tv's that were easy to see from the tables. Cool. The menus were left on the table until we were done eating. Weird. I think there is some confusion about if they are a carry out joint, a fast casual eat-in restaurant or a nice place to have a leisurely dinner. Beautiful marble tabletops, a brick oven and the comfortable booth space made me want to linger. I am convinced that the cans of pop, lack of ice, lack of real tableware, lack of knowledge and the brisk attitude make this a prime carry out place. Weird. Two more things. There was an annoying fly through the whole meal. It was making us crazy! Not necessarily their issue, but I was annoyed already and the fly made it worse. Finally there was this conversation: Customer to waitress: May I have a receipt? Waitress: Oh, would you like one? Customer: Um, yes. Why would the customer ask for a receipt if she didn't want one. D'oh! Five stars for their pizza (other than my non-crispy prosciutto) and their awesome oven. This is why people love Elio's! Two or three stars for everything else. I don't know if it's bad training, an employee who doesn't care or maybe even a cousin or something helping out for the day. It was weird. But, I know that I'll go back and that the pizza was really that good. You get four stars, Elio's.

As I've stated before, my new favorite pizza. Family owned and run, they always recognize me from the last time I was in. It brings me back to my childhood hearing the guys speaking Italian as they cook. If you're in the area, love real pizza you've got to stop in.

We went here for my moms 67th birthday. Each had a pizza. The rustica was the bomb so good, fresh ingredients,mozzarella all good. Then they brought my mom a Nutella crepe which by the way is sooooo delish. Mmmmm yummy. Then we also got some and they even treated us all for them. Thanks to the staff. Okay, the food here is amazing! The pizza is great, I'd give this place a 5 star if it weren't for the staff. If you order a water here, make sure you ask for a glass because they have automatically given me a bottle every single time. And charged me for it!!!! Ridiculous. The staff here sucks. They're all family too, so you'd think they'd like to treat people well, but they don't. Also, if it's summer time 100% chance there are flies flying around landing on your food. It's so gross. At least put some traps up in the back, hidden.

Pretty unique pizza. It's not going to be everyone's favorite but it's a nice change of pace. One small pizza is a lot for one person to try to eat so be forewarned. Kinda of a small venue so be carful if you don't have a lot of time.

Yesterday I tried this restaurant for the first time. The pizza was fantastic, the wood burning oven is life changing! The waitress was really nice, she kept checking up on me and made me feel welcomed. But the owner was smoking cigarettes inside which made it feel like a bar and the whole restaurant could hear him yelling at someone on the phone. I loved the pizza but next time I'm taking it home.

Best pizza! Elio knows what real pizza is all about. This is how Italian pizza is supposed to taste. The Elio salad is a trademark of Elio and we have had this pizza since Elio cooked at other locations. Price is good, service is great and food is out of this world. We have to make our way to this location whenever we go to addison. Many places are trying to offer the same brick oven pizza but Elio does it better than all of them.

Pizza, 4 stars. Service, atmosphere, etc, 2.5-3 Pizza was really good, especially the Rucolina. The arugula was fantastic, crust light & crispy. Very yummy. The second pizza we had was the Rustica with mushrooms, which was just okay. Was a bit surprised to be served paper plates & plastic cups, but not a huge deal. Service is slow at best. Friends came in & owner's wife seemed more interested in chatting then taking care of us so we could leave... A bit annoying but not a deal breaker. Only other oddity was the competing pop music and tvs behind the bar. Both were at the same volume, so couldn't really hear either. But if you're looking for good, light/crispy pizza, this is really good. Just get it to go if you live close :)

I really wanted to write this review in Italian, in honor of Elio Pizza's very Italian roots. Unfortunately, I don't speak Italian so that idea was kind of a bust. I don't really speak Spanish either, but I can fudge a few words here and there. So because I really want this review to have a little more spice, so imma go for it. Listo? I wasn't feeling too caliente today. I think it might have something to do with lack of sleep... like quatro days of not uno.single.wink, plus, on dos of those days I just flat out forgot to put anything in my body that wasn't either coffee or a popsicle. I finally got dos and a half hours of sleep last noches... and then had to be shaken awake only to have take mi novio to the aeropuerto, and say adios to him for the next tres weeks while he "gets spun the darma and comes back enlightened". Then I went home to trabajo... but I was still so cansada and slow that I lost track of time and before I knew it, I had to be on the move again for a work meeting almost an hour from my casa. I felt so caca-y that I didn't even wear make-up. Cara de changa. Then I went home to finish trabajo-ing some mucho and feel really really gross. Cómo se dice, blech!? (That one's para tu, Dana G) Then I decided I needed a pequeño pick me up from the day and a break from staring at my laptop, so I pack up the Prius and headed over to mi abuela's casa for some QT with Gammie. It was here that she decided we should go to comida. Perfecto idea, Abuela! I chose Elio Pizza On Estar, as I'd been there before and had a feeling that if there was any way for me to feel better, it was to have Elio and Abuela time together. Did it work? Infierno si, it did! On mi first visit I just had the pizza... and it was mágico. On mi second visit, Abuela and I went all out and opted for a pizza, panini, and dessert crepe. The pizza: delicioso, as always. The panini: Grande! ... and scarfed in a matter of minutos The crepe (cannoli cheese and chocolate sauce): So bueno. So bueno, in fact, that mi Abuela could not stop raving about it. The bill: Loco cheap! It's actually kind of hard to spend $20 on dos people here it's so cheap. The only thing I'm not a fan of? No tap water. You have to buy a pinche pequeño bottle of agua. I think maybe it's because the place is so pequeño they don't have a dish washer or real cups. Your pizza comes on a ceramic plate, but customers eat off pequeño paper plates and for dessert they give you plastic-ware to eat with. Kind of strange, and I really do hate that I can't just get a glass of agua and have to waste a plastic water bottle, but their customer service tops and their product is loco delish making it a prime place for a perfect fiesta. Hasta la vista, Elio!

Some people are gonna bark about this, cry foul that I'm not following their idea of what a YELP review has to be, but I don't buy it. This review is about our experience, NOT about the food. I can't review the food, because we never actually ate here. We ended up walking out. First of all we were suprised to see the layout/size of this place. Other reviews led us to think it was a nice, inviting place with a warm interior. Nothing could be farther from the truth. It's very small, about 6 or 7 tables, all in a row. It would be fine for a beef stand, not for a place trying to serve authentic old world wood oven pizzas in a suburb with very deep Italian roots. Anyway we were willing to try it out despite being disappointed that we couldn't at least have a cozy booth or table with some sense of personal space so we could have some private conversation. Fine. Roll with it. There were 2 tables with people, total of six customers, and those patrons were kind enough to strew their coats all over the 2 tables between them. We were surprised that the manager/hostess wasn't asking them to move their coats, but she didn't. So we had to pick either the tabe at the door or one of the rear tables looking into the grungy kitchen corridor. Sadly we chose the latter, and wound up sitting next to a young Asian couple with a small girl. The man gave me and my wife nasty glaring looks as soon as we sat down. Guess it wasn't enough for that prick to have 2 tables for 3 people, he wanted another. So we ignored his overtly nasty looks. When my wife went to the bathroom, this guy's daughter dropped a toy under our table. Instead of excusing himself or asking me to get it, he crawled under our table at my feet to get it himself without so much as an "excuse me". What a douche. By now 10 mins. had gone by and we still hadn't even gotten a glass of water, let alone a drink. We had menus from when we first were seated (which I think is very lean on choices other than pizza) but I just had this nagging sense that things were only going to get worse from there. Service was moving slowly. And neither I nor my wife liked the man next to us one bit. I'm not about to back down to some skinny Pacific rim prick, but I'm not about to get into a tif with some guy who has an overly agressive sense of territorial space in a pizza place either. Not worth it. I told my wife we should go, that is wasn't appealing to me, and she jumped at the chance to make for the door. He instincts told her the same thing mine were telling me - cut your losses. Overall we had a negative experience. Didn't like the way the owners handle the place, or manage the customers, and I don't like the place inside (not inviting) . Sorry I can't review the pizza, but we wouldn't go back to try it now. I wish them well, I hope they make it big, maybe the food is great, but the mgmt style and logistics kill it for us.

This is my new favorite pizza place! The Margarita (sp?) Pizza was the best I've ever eaten. The pizzas are all one size. My son and I were surprised that we ordered 2 but they are so fresh and light. Best tomato sauce I've ever had. Staff is friendly and service prompt. The owners are from Palermo. This is not Chicago style pizza. This is authentic Sicilian pizza. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Love this place! Best Neapolitan Pizza I've had. This was one of the first restaurants we went to after my son was born. Being new parents we were happy to feel so welcome, even with a young baby. Now when we return, they remember us, and comment on how big our little guy is getting. He's 11 months, and loves the food too! Best pizza outside of Italy. Trust me, I've been to Italy and when you take a bite into this pizza you feel like you are in Italy, it's that authentic. Service isn't bad, much better than when they first opened. Treat yourself to a nutella crape for dessert, you won't regret it.

My new favorite place. THIS is the place my daughter's Italian teacher recommended to her to go for when she became homesick for real pizza after her trip to Italy. Their pizzas are cooked in a wood burning brick oven. They are wonderful. So light and flavorful. The bruchettas are amazing. I've tried them all. Such a great value! For dessert so far we've had the crepes and they too are wonderful. The atmosphere is charming. You'd never guess you're in a strip mall. Tables along one side and you can also sit at a bar area and watch them making the pizzas. You must go!

One word! Greasy! Our pizza was so greasy in the middle it sort of looked like a certain flaccid extremity. Then it was so burnt at the edges it wasn't even worth eating the whole pizza. If we weren't so hungry that day we wouldn't of eaten the pizza. Also the place was so small no wonder people went in and out of the place so quickly. I had better places so I suggest to go somewhere else!

I came here for lunch on a Thursday ...looking forward to some delicious pizza after looking at some reviews..however, I gotta say my views differed...maybe it was because I ate at Piece's pizza the prior week.. and their pizza was soo delicious to me... Food: Biancaneve ($7.45) - pizza without tomato sauce, contains (White) Mozzarella, Garlic, Oregano, Fresh Basil..it tasted good, but a little bland or something just seemed to be missing for me...the crust was delicious tho.. Food Portion: if you order one pizza...it's more than enough for one person's meal....but if you eat a lot a lot.. then maybe you can get 2 pizzas....they give you a lot for the price since you'll have leftovers.. Parking: plenty of parking spaces during lunch hours... Atmosphere: small and simple..people come here to eat lunch... Customer Service: the staff were friendly... I'll come here again... maybe to try some of their other food items....:)

My boyfriend and I tried this pizza place for the first time. We ordered a veggie thin-crust pizza. I must say I was not impressed but disappointed. My boyfriend liked it. Though the pizza was made fresh it lacks flavor. Also, the toppings should not fall off the pizza the moment you pick it up. I felt like I was eating a soggy pizza and the only part that was hard was the crust.

Very good, very authentic Italian pizza. My favorite is the Rustica, and with a beer it's a great meal. I usually pick up my orders to take home, but it's also nice to eat there. Elio's is family owned and operated, and when you eat there, they make you feel like family.

Have been here on 3 occasions, different pizzas every time. Rustic, sausage, pepperoni, margherita, the list goes on. They are well cooked and super fresh as they are made to order right in front of you, none of use on any visit had any complaints. The bruschetta is amazing, glad we tried that this last time. Will definitely return. The owner and atmosphere are fun and we felt like we were at a friend's house watching tv while he made pizzas. The waitress was quick with the refills and did not rush us to leave. Will be back again and again.

Authenticity starts from the people behind the counter. A real Italian couple, complete with speaking the language and cooking with passion. Hard to find though, look for the McDonalds and go to the strip mall, its the place at the end of it. The location is pretty small and the wood fired oven makes for a focal point. I had the margherita pizza. A common go-to choice, and a good benchmark to compare stone/wood oven pizza places everywhere. The closest competition in terms of menu has to be Brix in Lombard. The fact of the matter is that Elio wins the Margherita challenge. Because of how good the Margherita was, I took home the roasted pepper, eggplant and zucchini pizza ( I dont remember the Italian name). Even reheated the next day it was delicious! The veggies were grilled before going on the pizza, they were fresh and this pizza tasted like it was good for you! In a healthy way! I must return to try their sandwiches or focaccia items!

Really killer pizza. Great crust; this is what I imagine pizza from Italy being like. One night I was really hungry and ordered a prosciutto pizza all for myself! Normally though, its a good size for two people. It's very filling and you don't feel gross afterwards because it's not super greasy. Happy to have this place in my hometown of Addison!

Awesome food! This place is the real deal as far as pizza, salads and sandwiches. I have been here several times with my family and tried pretty much everything on the menu. Everything is excellent. The house salad is awesome. The brick oven pizza is so fresh and perfectly cooked. Try the siciliano sandwich (eggplant sandwich) it's amazing as well.

I was first taken to this place with my family by some neighbors and I've been going back since. Owned by an Italian family, this is no cheap-wanna-be-Italian-food joint. The brick oven cooked pizza is delicious with many original varieties. Unlike American pizza which is often heavy on the crust and tomato paste, Elio's offers classic pizza topped with anything from pineapple to salmon. And the bruschetta, oh my goodness is it good! Topped with tomatoes, artichoke, tuna, spinach... one of my favorites. It is a small place, located at the end of a strip mall, and a great aspect of it is how you can see the owners making all the food right in front of you, plus the European feel. Prices are very reasonable, just be careful of showing up on a weekend with a large group because that place gets packed!

We get the same thing every week, margarita pizza and a panzerotti. The wood fired Sicilian style pizza is thin, crispy, and incredibly tasty! The panzerotti is baked, fluffy and the best I've ever had. Coming from an Italian family, that's a statement! Not like they can do anything about it but the pizza is cold when I get home which is 10 min away. It's because it's real thin. Eat here!!

Wanted to try someplace new the other night. It was late (around 9:30) and it is hard to find places that are still open. Having read about Elio's just the other day, I checked their hours and noticed they were open later! So glad we decided to come here. I've driven by this new strip mall a dozen times but never really gave it much thought. Now I can't wait to go back to Elio's. They have ample seating to dine in and the prices are very reasonable. We got a sausage pizza to split and 2 beverages and a dessert crepe and it was around $20! The pizza was amazing. It isn't your typical "Americanized" pizza, it is thinner and made in a brick oven. Items are made fresh to order and all of the ingredients were extremely fresh and tasty. We also got the tropical crepe which had bananas and strawberries with chocolate sauce and whipped cream...think banana split! Workers were very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back to try another pie!

I'm a pizza snob - there, I said it. I make my own dough, I have a baking steel at home, and my college roommate is an Italian cheese maker. The long and short of it? Elios is the best pizza I've had east of the Mississippi. Better than my own. I rate pizza based on the quality of a Margarita. And this is unbelievable. My buddy and I have a standard ordering procedure - we order two margaritas, to be brought out 10 min apart, so each slice is perfect. Don't laugh, it's awesome!

Our family has been going to Elio's since the day they opened. This is truly the definition of brick oven pizza. Everything is cooked fresh,cut fresh. So be patient because it definitely is worth the wait. It's hard to miss but if you are on Lake Street it's behind the Mcdonalds in the strip mall - enjoy

I won't be back and it has nothing to do with the food. The food here is very good, but unfortunately my praise ends there. I've been here 3 times and each time the service was equally awful. Everyone here is obviously family and the overly young waitress who was there every time seems to think it's more important to socialize, do homework, and entertain her younger relative than to attend to her tables. You need to make sure you ask for what you want too, because if you don't catch her when she takes your order or drops off your food you're out of luck. No initiative here people. The last time I was here was just comically bad. They had 2 kids running around the place, through the kitchen, through the back and out the sides again. Then the kicker was the little chubby kid decided to scratch his butt right in front of 2 tables, but he dug in under his pants and underwear (part of his butt was actually exposed too!). Yup, pretty gross huh? LOL. You think that was the end of it? NOPE! Not even a minute after this kid was digging in his pants he decided to go into the soda cooler and get himself a drink.

I am definitely a fan. Being new to the area and Friday night, I thought it was a good time to treat myself. I had a taste for pizza and growing up on the westside of Chicago, I immediately thought Home Run Inn which I grew up on. Actually it was the only pizza we knew growing up besides frozen pizza. Before placing my order, I decided to venture over to the old trusty yelp website. I saw that Elio was the top rated so of course I decided to try it. Needlessly to say, I am so glad I did. It saved me about $6 or $7 from what I would have spent at HRI and I got a delicious pizza. I might dare to say that it is among so of the best pizza I've had. It tasted so fresh. I got the funghi which is cheese and mushroom. It wasn't as hot as I would have wanted it I ordered carry out and had the air conditioning blasting in the car. Next time, I will put it in the trunk. The restaurant was clean. Staff was professional. The price was definitely right. It was worth every penny. They only sell one size so it takes the complication out of what size to order. I definitely recommend it and will be going again. I found my new pizza spot.

I have been here several times now. This little family owned, wood burning oven pizzeria is quaint and cozy, along with delicious food for a fabulous price! The salads are giant portions so you can share with the family. The pizzas are thinner type crust -the Italian feel with the family owners /cooks speaking Italian and sometimes Italian shows on the TV. The pizza has a great flavor and being cooked in a wood burning oven, yum! Finally, you must try the crepes, we love "The Tropical".

Our tastebuds traveled to Sicily last night when we dined at Elio Pizza On Fire. Thankfully, our "tour guide", Adrianna was there to help us choose from their incredible pizza menu. For most of you, this is unlike any pizza you have ever had. You don't order a sausage and mushroom or pepperoni, onions and green pepper. No, no, no... you'll find amazing items like Rucolina, Primavera, Pirata, Gusti, and Dolcezza on the menu. That's where the lovely Adrianna comes in. She's both translator and tour guide as you explore the authentic Sicilian pizza landscape. Here's what we had: Mediterrenea Salad - A nice sald for two to share with romaine lettuce, fresh tomato, red onions, Calamata olives, sundried tomato, cucumbers and liberally drizzled with their own balsamic dressing. This is a wonderful start for your meal. We decided to order 2 pizzas and share them and take the remainder home. Our first choice was the Ortolana which is topped with fresh plum tomato, mozzarella, grilled eggplant, grilled zucchini, roasted red pepper and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. This was a wonderful veggie pizza option! We sometimes get bored with typical veggie pizzas because it's the same old, same old. Not at Elios. You can really taste the freshness of the ingrdients. The second pizza we ordered was the Rucolina. All I can say is "WOW!!" Fresh mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto parma, grana cheese flakes, and extra virgin olive oil. Sounds simple right? We added red sauce per Adrianna's suggestion and it was quite frankly one of the best pizzas I have ever had! We finished with about 5 slices of pizza to take home for the next day. Now here's the best part - we had a salad, 2 pizzas and 3 sodas. Cost = $29.49. Yes, you read that right, just a shade under 30 bucks. I have spent 3X the amount at some restaurants and not enjoyed my food as much as I did last night at Elios. Let me offer a few tips that might help you better enjoy your experience: 1) It's a real P-I-T-A to find because there is no obvious sign blaring out "ELIO ON FIRE". When traveling on Lake Street, enter the strip mall parking lot just east of the McDonalds and directly across the street from the entrance to Sal's Beverage Depot. (It's the strip mall on the south side of Lake with the taqueria right when you turn into the lot.) Elio is at the opposite end of the strip mall at the very end. 2) IF you enjoy wine and beer with your meal, find a place to park and cross the street and grab yourself a beverage at Sal's Beverage Depot. Adrianna said that people are welcome to BYOB. NOTE: They do NOT serve alcohol. 3) When dining as a couple, whether to order one pizza or two? If you are really hungry, I say "go for it!" and take the leftovers home. Not that hungry and want to save a few bucks, share a salad and a pizza. Throw in a nice bottle of your own wine and you can get a decent meal for two for under $50. 4) Bring cash - they don't take credit cards. 5) Ask for Adrianna - she'll take good care of you! Be sure to leave a nice tip. So there you have it. A new, family owned restaurant in the heart of Addison serving some of the best pizza I have ever had. I haven't been this excited since discovering Bigby's!

Pizza is very good and very thin crust. Its fast and friendly service from owner. The margetia pizza is their best tasting pizza on menu, but if your hungry 1 pizza about 12 inches may not do the trick for 2 people.

We pull up to this restaurant after finding it on Yelp & seeing it had a decent star rating & we decided to go. It looks dark & doesn't really appear to be open?? We decide to walk up & see if it is open & in fact, they were. We discussed after we left that they really need to turn on their open sign during the day. They are set back off Lake street & need to draw some attention. Ok, now it gets....I don't know...strange?? We walk in...greeting from a young lady at the door: "Can I help you?" Do I look lost?? I have 3 other people with me & we're walking to a restaurant, ummmmm....the only thing that I think to respond with is "We'd like to eat". No, I'm not kidding. I actually uttered these words. Perhaps, she should greet people with "Hello, welcome, how many?" or "Dining in or take out?" I don't know what that was. It was strange. But let's move on... She sat us at a half booth/half table 4-top. Which is basically all the seating they have with the exception of their counter where you can sit & kinda watch them cook. That looked cool. They also had some TV's to watch. She offered us drinks. I ordered a diet coke & an ice water. Her response "We don't have ice." Ok! What the hell? You don't have ice...are you restaurant? This was weird. Ok, I expected her to bring us glasses with soda & no ice, thinking "I hope it's cold." Nope, we were served cans of soda with a plastic cup. This was not really the best start to our visit. Soda was not very cold for a place with no ice. I like a cold soda to drink...not one that you put in the cooler 2 hours ago. But, because there is no ice, I can't really say anything. So I just deal. We keep saying....we can't judge it yet...they have 4 stars...we need to wait on our judgement until we have eaten. & we do just that! We review the menu & they have some straight forward apps & two listed with zero description: the "Salumi Mix" & "Burrata" I decided to ask the server to explain what these are & her response: "I honestly have no idea". Ok, now, I'm just annoyed....I wanted to ask if she even worked there. She then said she would go find out....a few moments later, the cook or owner (i don't know), a gentleman came out & explained that the mix was meats & cheeses & the burrata was basically similar to the pizza we were talking about ordering with prosciutto so we ordered a caprese salad. It was presented beautifully. So glad, I held off on judgement, but still, this young woman did not seem to have much information at all. We also ordered a shrimp cocktail. The young lady returned a few minutes after ordering the apps to inform us that they are out of shrimp cocktail. This kinda bothers me because I use to be a server at multiple restaurants & one thing you should always do with servers when they start a shift, is inform them of any 86'd items. So when people order, you can inform them on the spot & maybe suggest something else that they like which is upselling & increases your potential tip. The caprese salad had excellent dressing on it, but it needed salt & pepper very desperately.There wasn't any on the tables. I asked the server for some & she did not know if they even had salt & pepper. WTH? She found some & brought them over. Sadly, they were almost empty....I'm not getting any happier here. Finally, their saving grace: THE PIZZA ARRIVED!!! We ordered 3 pizzas & my nephew got a panini. The panini looked good, but he really liked our pizza instead, so we shared like a good family does. The first pizza we opted for was the Pizza Rustica: Smoked Mozzarella, Speck Prosciutto, oregano & Parmesan cheese. We also ordered an Italian Beef pizza. I really enjoyed the Rustica. The roast beef was not my cup of tea, but it was okay. My sister ordered the white pizza & added Prosciutto which I thought sounded good, but I think they forgot to put on the Prosciutto because when it was served it was basically just placed on top of the already cooked pizza. It did not look appealing at all. I think my sis was also a bit disappointed because our Prosciutto was in the pizza where her's was an after-thought. A few suggestions: - real plates. Throw the paper plates in the garbage where they belong...that or use them for take out orders. Cutting with a fork & knife on a paper plate is quite difficult. -The tables are pretty small for 4 people, they need those metal st&s that raise the pizza off the table, because we actually had to put our pizzas on the table next to us so there was enough space for our plates to eat. Between the plates, the cans of soda & the plastic cups, there is not much room on the tables to work. -Get some ice! Either make sure your canned soda is ice cold or offer ice for this purpose. -Put salt & pepper on the tables & fill them. -Train your staff & communicate with them. Please, please, please do this. We'll be back....most likely for take out until they get things in order.

Redux. I'd give them two thumbs up, a gold star. AND a F--k yeah. They take the original Nautra pizza to the next level. There isn't any runny sauce that you get in Italy because of the baked cheese mixed with the tomato sauce. It doesn't look like the homespun pizza-cake but it tastes so much better! You get all the tastes of those but the texture confounds all senses. If you hit a pizza joint in the Chicagoland, you expect certain things: lots of cheese, lots of sauce, a heap of toppings... well think again. All it takes is some fresh and flavorful ingredients and a dough that will make your face melt back into your abdomen to make you change your mind. Okay, your first bite into a slice.. the crust holds up and you taste the proper care they put into making it. Second and third, you understand that the dough really compliments the surrounding accoutrements. Everything else until you munch the crunch of the delectable crust is just some sort of bliss you wouldn't expect. Oh my goodness, their number ends in 0088, though it only takes about 10-15 minutes to make a pizza, though you might have to wait because of... well, the wait.

I sometimes think that I'm a failure as a Fat Man. I don't like Lasagna, I won't eat a whole container of Ice Cream or a bag of cookies at a time, and If I have one Malt or Milkshake per year, then that's too many. And I'm not a Pizza fanatic. Un-American, you say? If not that, then certainly Un-Chicago like. But nonetheless, I can go months without a slice and I'm none the worse for the wear. There are exceptions. I've always love the Pizza Pot Pie at "Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder", and every once in awhile, I've gotta have an Anchovy/Fresh Garlic/Sausage from Homme Rumm Imm (yes I know that's a spelling mistake, but the corner store in Berwyn from when I was a kid had a hand lettered sign advertising frozen HRI 'za and that's how it always looked to me-I'm a stickler for sentimentality) Also, my wife turned me on to New-York style Pie a few years ago during a junket to Long Island, (Vincent's in Baldwin-Excellent!) and I've always been curious about Lombardi's, and the whole "Wood Fired" thing. I've been to a few "Wood Fired" pizza joints here in town (Tony Sacco's for example) and I swear I could taste the quotation marks around their "wood fired" pizza. In other words, they didn't bite my bippy. Expensive and blah. So when I saw Steve Dolinsky waxing poetic about Elios on the Channel 7 news, I didn't rush out right away. But the review was intriguing. Not long after, I was coming home from I-don't-know-where southbound on I-355 with my Pizza-addict wife, pensing on a place for dinner, and I thought "why not try Elios?" We bailed on Lake Street and went on an Elio search. We found the place hidden on the edge of a strip mall obscured from the street by a McDonalds. Uh-Oh. The place is a single-width storefront about the same size as your average nail salon-blink and you'll miss it. What you WON'T miss is the wood aroma as you approach. Good sign. There's a Row of tables down one wall, and the kitchen down the other. The decor on the inside is much more sophisticated than you'd think. The place is NOT a sh!thole. Wife and I sat down and looked at the extensive menu. Pizzas "Rosso" with Tomatoes and "Blanco" without. Salads, Foccacias, and more. I had NEVER seen a pizza menu like this. Every entry looked yummy. What looked better were the pies that were coming out of the kitchen. "What the hell was THAT?" as tempting aromas drifted past. My wife likes plain Cheese Pizza. Maybe with a little basil, but the plain pie does it for her, and that was her order. I saw a White pizza with Garlic and fresh Mozz. I figured that I would try a "plain-ish" pie to set the basic bar-if they did THAT well, then they'd have my attention. I also ordered a Carpaccio appetizer. After a not-too-long wait, the Carpaccio came out (which I had all to myself-Chris gave up red meat a while ago). It was quite a large plate, with a pronounced salad element to it. Unlike other Carpaccios I've had (I'm a raw meat freak-love it!). The dish was great! Light and flavorful. Then the pies came. Thin-crusted, with char marks, and a very light touch with the toppings. Chris's Cheese was Flor Di Latte Mozz, and a very light tomato, and the basil was applied with a light hand. My pie had fresh Mozz, garlic and EVO. I never thought I'd ever see a "light" Pizza, but I was holding it in my hand. This was not the leaden ultra-rich pie you see everywhere else, but a tasty and light crisp crust with just enough topping on it to satisfy a flavor urge. Ultra-simple, Ultra-good. I was flipping out, and so was my wife. This was Pizza nirvana. And when you're through with your meal, you don't have that feeling like you've swallowed a bowling ball. And that "Light" does not mean light in flavor or quality. The place is authentic Italian, and not "goombah-cartoon" Italian. RAI was on the TeeVees that are above the kitchen, and I didn't hear any English spoken by anyone behind the counter when they weren't talking to the clientele. Don't worry about communicating with the staff, however they all speak fine Inglese. Elio is from Sicily, and he assured me that this is what you get when you go into a Pizzeria in Italia. Over the past few weeks, Elios has become a regular haunt, and I'm making my way through the menu-haven't had a loser yet. I even special-ordered my favorite Anchovy/Fresh Garlic in a "white" Pizza. Outstanding!! I got recognized from my recent appearance on "Check Please" during a recent visit, and the gal's Hub was direct from Sicily. He said that "This is the real deal-just like it is back home" So I've found a Pizza joint that blows my mind, and I haven't shut up about it. I tried the Tira-mi-su, which was as good as the pizza-Donna the Waitress said she makes it herself. I found out on a subsequent visit that it is the recipe of Elio's Partner's Mom (who was here on vacation) Addison ain't that far from anywhere-go here soon!

This place will get two stars for having good bruschetta, and mediocre pizza. It was the service that was downright lazy, and lackluster. We were never offered drinks, told any specials, or explained the difference in the two types of pizza. The server (thin, long brown hair-- wish I knew her name, but she didn't introduce herself) seemed so unenthusiastic to be working, and never checked on us once. Never asked if we needed refills, wanted dessert, or if we needed our check. Another lady (short blonde hair, red sweater had to be summoned any time we needed anything. She seemed quite unenthusiastic as well. She asked us if we wanted dessert, and then proceeded to walk away when another group came in, while our original server sat on the counter, and just looked on. I left you a $.06 cent tip for this exact reason, and honey-- you didn't even deserve that. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for these reasons. Get your act together, and act like you want your job-- because plenty of people would love to have it in this piss-poor economy. Hats off to the chef, tho-- you did your part.

This one's on fire! Eilo Pizza On Fire is a small, family run, pizza place that serves up thin crust pizza from a wood-burning oven. I went to this place one night with the gf and was not even hungry but ended up feasting on the delicious pizza. It was a great experience overall with good food, a nice atmosphere, and friendly, helpful, authentic Italian staff. Looking at the menu there were several pre-made veggie combinations so it was hard to decide with each one looking wonderful. There is only one size, which is a little bigger then a personal pizza size. The wood-burning oven turns the pizza out fast so you won't have to wait long - before we knew it the pizza was out and ready to eat . I had one piece just to try it but after the first bite I was hooked. Luckily there was enough pizza for both of us because I ended up eating half of the pizza, and I knew that I would be coming back for more. On top of all that it was super cheap, EPOF FTW! It is worth the trip out to Addison to try this place and if you live in the area go now!

There's so much to love about this place. We were greeted warmly and personally by the owner and anyone else who was there when we walked in -- we felt like we had walked into someone's home and had been invited to sit and stay for dinner. It's a small place but very cozy and especially nice and warm on this cold, snowy night. You can see directly into the brick oven where Elio bakes his masterpiece pizza :). The service was fast and our server was helpful and efficient. Then there's the food. Oh my! SO good! We shared the Bruschetta Rockefeller which was amazing and then dug into the Elio Super pizza Bianca and their Marguerita pizza. Thin, crispy, hot, fresh ingredients all fired in the brick oven----superb! Prices are extremely reasonable so you simply cannot go wrong if you choose to indulge at this quaint, local restaurant.

It was a cool autumn night when we walked into Elio Pizza on Fire and we were immediately warmed by the inviting interior and the wood burning in the pizza oven. The $10 bottle of wine helped heat things up even more :) It was my second trip to Elio and I'll be back over and over again. We had a pepperoni and "fresh" mushroom pizza and the mushrooms really were fresh - delicious! We followed that up with the awesome tropicale fruit and chocolate filled crepe. Who the heck serves crepes at a pizza place? IDK, but I'm glad Elio does. I had the pesto panini on another visit and recommend that as well.

This place was a great surprise. We chose it based on Yelp when another place we wanted to go to was closed. The only drawback, if you consider it a drawback, is that it doesn't have a very fancy atmosphere. Still, it's nice and cozy, smells delicious, and has some cool paintings and Italian-themed maps on the walls. The wine and beer lists are not huge; the server let us taste one kind of wine, we didn't like it and ended up getting another one, but she was patient and didn't seem annoyed by the hassle. The pizza was delicious! We got a 12", which had a fairly thin crust, so we also got a huge Mediterranean salad that was equally delicious. All this came to $42 dollars including tip - a pizza, salad, and bottle of wine for two people. So yeah, don't go here when you want formal dining, but in any other situation it's great value!

My fiance went here with a friend and has been wanting to bring me ever since, raving about the prosciutto - and he doesn't even like ham. We were in the area recently and I finally got to see what all the fuss was about. The pizza is wood-fired and Neopolitan style, and they have a wide variety of topping options. We split a Rustica (with the famous crispy prosciutto, which almost tastes like bacon) and a Bufalina (with delicious buffalo mozzarella.) The two varieties were very different, but equally delicious. The restaurant is very cute, but tiny. I'd love to see them expand, or preferably move to a different location (the strip mall it's in isn't particularly appealing.) And yes, the prosciutto really is that good.

The first time I had pizza here it was outstanding, It was so tastey, the cheese and sauce blended in perfectly with a crisp crust. After several times of going to have pizza i noticed on my last visit it taseted different. My suspicions were correct they changed the cheese. Very dissapointing. Coming from a family who have several pizza restaurants in other states I feel I know good pizza when I taste it. If they go back to their original ingrdients it will definatly attract more cosutmers. Consistency is very imprortant when you have a restaurant.

They easily have the best and most authentic Italian-style pizzas in the area! The restaurant is small and tends to fill quickly, but the pizzas are delicious. They offer a large selection of thin crust pizzas that are cooked over a wood burning oven. One catch, don't ask for water because they only have bottled water and will charge you.

Now, I consider myself a pizza aficionado, especially traditional Neapolitan style pizzas, so I had to check this out. I live fairly close by so I stopped here on finding out about this place through Yelp reviews. I did not know it existed since I never saw any signage posted on Lake St. Nice little place tucked in at the corner of a small strip mall next to McDonald's. I ordered two pizzas. A mushroom and one white pizza with prosciutto and arugula. I watched them make the pizzas and the whole process of cooking them. This whole process goes pretty fast since the wood burning oven turns out pizzas in a jiffy. The mushroom one was pretty standard, made with regular mozz and mushrooms. Other than some smokiness on the crust from the wood burning oven, it was OK, but not anything special from anyplace else. The white pizza was made with fresh mozz and also finished with some Grana Padano cheese. This one was much better. I liked it. They do offer quite a selection of both red + white pizza styles. Also, they have a lot of different paninni's and sandwiches but I did not try any of them this time. The pizza is pretty good. Is it the greatest I ever had?...well, no. However, I am glad that they are there. I will definitely go back and try some other ones. If they are better, I will re-review. Now as for my rating......I give them 3 stars.3 stars is not a bad rating. I would give them 3 1/2 but Yelp does not let you rate that way. Check this place out. Strongly recommended! I was in the mood for some traditional Italian style, wood burning oven pizza and decided to try this local restaurant. It has a very nice, friendly atmosphere and the variety of choices is extensive, almost overwhelming. We had a decent and somewhat inexpensive bottle of wine, a couple of pizzas and a Nutella crepe for dessert. The pizza was excellent and crust was perfect; it reminded me of similar restaurant in Positano, which I consider to be a bench-mark of wood-oven pizza. The crepe and espresso was the perfect finale to a great meal. We'll be back and am looking forward to trying some of their other menu choices.

This is the second time I've been here and honestly I'm impressed. Both times we ordered the same thing. We ordered the Ortolana Pizza and the Primavera. The first time we had them as they came and they were delish. The Ortolana has roasted red peppers, zucchini and eggplant. The veggies have some type of marinade or spice or something that is amazing!! The Primavera pizza is a Pizza Bianca (white pizza) with cherry tomatoes, fresh arugula, slices of grana cheese. I've never heard of it, but it's like parmesan or Romano. So freaking yummy. Then we ordered dessert: the tiramisu and a crepe stuffed with bananas and strawberries, and they were good. The tiramisu was so so good. And I don't normally like tiramisu. And the crepes were good. This will be the only other pizza place I'll eat at. Yay!!!

My fiance just brought home the hawaiian pizza. I've been hearing raves about this place and I'm happy to say that it's lived up to it's rep. I JUST got back from Italy and let me tell you, this pizza is straight up Italian style and quality. This is the best pizza I've ever had in the US. I look forward to dining-in. As I've said before, I've heard raves not only about the food but also the atmoshpere. My finace said the staff is very friendly and incredibly gracious and hospitable. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion size and quality of ingredients. Apparently he went there over the weekend as well and was very impressed. I will be reviewing again after I personally visit. So excited.

Have returned here 3 time since the initial review, twice to eat in and once for carryout. Would recommend the 4 Formaggi pizza with tomatoes and 4 cheeses, and the Quadrifoglio, a white pizza with arugula, radicchio, etc. and slivers of cheese. We brought wine in with friends most recently and we were accommodated. We were also served an appetizer called 'garlic nuts', little dough balls baked in the wood-fired oven and topped with basil, oil, and garlic. Very good.

My friend and I had a great experience here! We got a big salad, bruschetta, and the biancaneve pizza. All of it was excellent, and the price was extremely reasonable. The seating area is small and cozy, and the decor and ambiance is perfect. Scenes of Italia roll across the TV screens and maps of Sicilia hang on the wall. We received excellent service and even a little help on our Italian pronunciation. The biancaneve pizza was delicious. Just enough cheese, just enough oregano, and not too oily. At other wood burning pizza places I've been to, the crust has been a little burned and pretty unpleasant, but Elio's crust was superb. Not too crispy, not too doughy, bubbly, and not at all blackened. I will definitely be back!

Been to Italy and this is as close as you can to being there. Watching them make a pizza is like watching a great artist paint. Hand tossed and the ingredients are fresh. Been there 3 times and have left each time very happy. These pizzas take about 6 minutes and you get the freshest ingredients and best dough I have ever had. Nothing fancy herre just GREAT pizza!

The food was okay but I don't think that I'll be going back any time soon. I ordered the Margherita pizza and my boyfriend had sausage. I thought that my pizza was pretty good, it had a good amount of basil, but the crust on my boyfriend's pizza was all black and burnt! He was a good sport and ate it anyways and said that it was edible. The girl that served us was a B and didn't seem like she enjoyed her job very much. They wouldn't serve us tap water, so we had to buy bottled.

My reason for this BAD RATING still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Newly moved to the area, but am not new to the area, to be closer to work. Went there on the 5th of July, LOVED IT! Had a Mediterranea salad and Margherita pizza. I was hooked! Went back again on the 12th (1 week later...I told you, I was hooked!) The young waitress recognized us and was attentive. Ordered the salad AGAIN and a pesto panini. Both were delicious and was so full that I took it home. Went back again today and maybe because it's Friday the 13th...it went HORRIBLE! I brought my husband & sister this time (he's been hearing me rave about this place so he's been wanting to go.) He was surprised and loved the cheap prices! The place was semi busy already, about half full. We put in our order and we got, again, that same salad (delicious), sausage pizza, Caprese, Palermo Focaccia, and of course my Pesto Panini. Our waitress was friendly, but the next incident shocked me. There was a larger party that came in and couldn't fit in one table of 4 seats. There was 2 tables open but at opposite ends of the restaurant. Instead of asking the party of 2, that were just about done with their food, our party of 3, who just started eating, was asked to move to the back of the restaurant. My husband instantly lost his appetite, but agreed to move to be a good patron. After being moved, we were only tended to once. The waitress stated she felt really bad, but was doing it as a favor for the larger group. This was a slap to the face! A 'favor'?!? So we took that as, they did not appreciate our business. The waitress also stated that she wanted to make everyone happy. However, her actions only resulted in the larger party being happy. We felt that we were mistreated and that they saw that nothing was wrong with what they did, no accommodations were offered. This larger group should have understood that maybe they may have to wait a little while, maybe 10 minutes! This does usually happen at restaurants especially ones of this size, but no, that didn't happen. This was just horrible customer service and overall bad judgement to do a 'favor' and end up losing a customer. In the end, we asked for containers, paid our check AND STILL LEFT A TIP (22.5%). It was a farewell from us as customers, Elio, may this NEVER happen to a patron again. Karma is a bitch.

We started with the Mediterranean salad which was delicious. Then we tried the 4 Gusti pizza. It was cooked in a wood fired oven that makes the whole place cozy and yummy smelling. The crust was perfect and the flavor of the pizza as a whole was very nice. We were stuffed without any room for desert. But next time I am having the tiramisu. We will go back for sure.

Wow! Best wood fired pizza I've had outside of Italy! Elio Pizza On Fire is my new go to for pizza. The staff was friendly and the service was fast enough. Elio the owner was quite friendly and very excited about his food. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing place for Neapolitan style pizza. Thin crust that so, so tasty with just enough salt and sweetness that makes you mouth water,a little blistered edges, quality, fresh ingredients on the top of the pie..hmmm. The best ever. My boyfriend and I do "quality control" dining every Thursday and Elio's never disappoints. Elio and Memo(spelling?,) super nice guys with European hospitality at their hearts. If you're looking for "fancy shmency" place Elio's is not it!! But if you want amazing pizza, great service and owners who take pride in their food- come and dine here!! Just a suggestion...Elio's thin crust pizza is best enjoyed dining in when the pie comes straight from their wood burning oven and right onto your plate, still too hot to eat, but looking beautiful and smelling even better. However leftovers are still super yummy. Best of luck to the owners and I hope they will stay around long long time to bake for us. Gracie!!

Great, great, authentic Italian pizza. Owned and operated by a couple of guys right off the boat. These guys are the craftsman. This pizza is exactly how they make it in Italy. Some moron in another review was knocking the service, but I've had courteous, fast service every time I've been there. if you want 5 star service go to Morton's. The prices are inexpensive and the value is excellent.

Decent wood fired joint. Not terribly impressed. They use Kraukus ham.. 'nuff said on that front.. Beer selection is novice level. They need to work on their topping selections more before I can consider more stars. I'd give 'em 2.5 stars if they were in the city surrounded by more options/competition...

Tim V summed it up. This place is operated by an original meatball. Pizzas are as close to the way I always got them in Europe, I do like the american rendition of pizza, but the original european crist brick oven pizza melts in your mouth. Fresh, original ingrediant and cheeses. Not a lot of dining space but an excellent staff. This could be the next big pizzaria chain done big if done right. Loumalnatis watch out with your big sloppy pizzas, these are the original thin crust personal pizzas. Talk about the salad before hand- outstanding! I didn't know what to expect for a small corner place, but I will return at least twice a month. I hear it is BYOB and they charge 1.25 for water or soda- no fountain and no free refills, but with the quality of food there is enough said in the first bite. Living in Addison is hard, Wendys turned into Stav's= which is excellent- but now that taco bell is gone I went to random places for mexican food. (I always liked taco bell because of the consistency) I usually go to Nardies for pizza and pizza delivery but they offer NO coupons and are not consistant in quality. (last time I got bosco sticks they were burnt and sauce was spilled everywhere in the box- not to mention the double dough is sometimes way too much or way too under cooked.) Places like Rosatis are franchises and so far the best one I know is in Carol Stream. The Addison one is horrible and Desplaines as well. Long rant short I lived in Germany and other Europian countries for four years, tonight I tasted what I remember from there and I loved it for the price. Go and see for yourself

Amazing wood fired brick oven pizzas the way it should be done. I've been here twice and the pizzas are fantastic. The suburbs have VERY limited options for these types of pies and Elio's does it right. The crusts are light and slightly charred, the ingredients are fresh, and it all comes together in one glorious pizza. They even char the artichokes and cook the chicken in the brick oven. The prosciutto was amazing. I love bacon...but will never get bacon again if given the option of prosciutto. Have not tried anything but the pizza and focaccia (which were both consumed in record time), but the calzones are huge and i hear the tiramisu is off the charts Can't wait to try both. The place is well decorated with seating for about 35 with a kick ass Coke machine up front. They are in the process of securing a beer/wine license, so be patient and enjoy one of the best za's in the NW Burbs. Pizzas cook quick, so there usually isn't a huge wait. Definitely a great spot in Addison to check out. Update - Now serve beer and wine. Went this past Saturday (3/31) and split 2 pizzas. Neither disappointed. Had the Montana...my personal favorite (tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto and 'shrooms) and a Capricciosa (plum tomato, mozzarella, ham, artichoke, 'shrooms, and olives). No leftovers...love the crust.

This is a really good pizza place. Very welcoming and cozy Tuscan inspired atmosphere. Their pizzas are excellent. My favorite one hands down is their Ortolana pizza, which has roasted red peppers, zucchini and eggplant. It's so beautiful tasting. The good thing about this place is their pizza selection are very Italian, very authentic.

4 out of 10 Got there with only two tables available outside on a warm nite. Waited what seemed like a long time for a totally inexperienced staf to seat us . Finally giot a waiter to take an order after ten minutes . The caprese was large and very appetizing . The so called wood fired oven that supposedly cooks a thin crust pizza in 5 -7 minutes took about eighteen because they only do one at a timed. No water , must buy bottled no ice available. Everything served in a plastic cup. Strictly a second class store front operation maybe great for Addison il but hardly a place Hungry Hound channel 7 chicago would recommend . Don't waste your time .

Pizza is good but not great... Not sure what's missing... Maybe the cheese or tomatoes need some more salt. I haven't been there in a while so we decided to go last week and WOW did the prices went up like 20%! That's a huge increase. Almost 2 bucks on a pizza.

I know Elio for long time , we both grew up in this little town in Sicily called Cinisi where the food is to die for and i mean it! I 've been living in the US now for 14 years and it's hard to find good food here unless i'm going to my mom's for dinner! I honestly believe Elio has done an unbelievable job with this cute little joint! The atmosphere is warm and rustic ,the staff is very friendly and caring. I can finally say that we have "pizza alla cinisara" here in Chicago thanks to Elio and Mimmo with their genius idea to bring a piece of Sicily to our mouths!
