This is one of the best restaurants here in this area. My husband and I go every Friday on our date night. I love the service and especially the waitress Autumn. She's wonderful!!!

Stayed the night here on our way to Casper from Portland. Reviews raved about the finger steaks, so I decided to give them a go. If you don't know what finger steaks are, imagine chicken fingers, but with steak instead of chicken. The batter tastes like a beer batted fish and chips recipe. I wasn't crazy about it, but it wasn't terrible either. It did feel like I was eating straight canola oil though. Mom and dad had the tilapia piccata and vegetarian Hank and cheese. Their reactions were "good" and "not bad" respectively. I thought the fries and house salad were good.

We were here for one reason and one reason only: steak fingers. While the atmosphere at 2:30pm on a Tuesday leaves a bit to be desired (read: EMPTY), the staff was extremely friendly and the food way surpassed my expectations. If you're not feeling the steak fingers, give the chicken ranch wrap a try. I love that they toss the lettuce in the dressing before they put it in the wrap. The steak fingers were crispy and steak..y. They are cooked in a tempura batter which gives them a nice crispy texture. If you're looking to try the only way a chicken finger could get worse for you, this is a good place to do so.

My husband and I stopped in Rupert, ID because we were camping our way from Boston to Portland. It was the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else, but is still super friendly to strangers! When we showed our IDs to order beer (something like 6 taps, half of which were microbrew) and the waitress exclaimed "Massachusetts! I've been here 9 years and that's my first MA license!" The food was an amazing surprise! We both ordered seafood dishes - risky coming from our East Coast spoils of lobstah, oysters, and Atlantic cod. But the hubbie's seafood linguini had whole crab claws and my Cajun grilled salmon was cooked to moist perfection. It was his birthday so we ordered home made berry cobbler for dessert. It was hot and gooey and served with the largest scoop of vanilla ice cream you could ever want. All in all, this place was an amazing find in what we thought to be the middle of nowhere!

The Drift is easily the best pure dining experience in the area. Charlie & Company have done a great job updating the place and have a nice menu with great food. And the finger steaks are still amazing. The one area they fall down is service. They are generally understaffed with waitresses and many of those they have leave a bit to be desired. That may well be because they're perpetually overwhelmed. The patio in particular requires a lot of patience. But it's usually worth it.

The best finger steaks you will ever taste. Friday they have clam chowder and it is always yummy. All of their soups are made from scratch and sure to please. Try the chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread, yum!
