awesome place. Just what I wanted: eggs, bacon, half cup of coffee, lots of cream (served on the side as a plus, so the coffee is hot), and a glass of water. Pleasant service, cute server +. thanks!

Everything is pre-packaged, frozen, just plain disgusting. I had a friend that worked there & told us some horrible stories. The pie would be moldy & her manager told her to just cut that part off. They once dropped corn bread on the floor, then the manager said to pick it up & just make sure there wasn't anything on it. She had story after story like that. Now to my husband & my personal experience. We went for breakfast, were seated, & sassy there for about 45 minutes after they came & bright us water. Eventually we just got up & left. It wasn't busy, and since the food is pre-packaged freezer food (which the waitress told me when I asked to make a substitution) it shouldn't have taken as long as it did.

I realized this weekend while visiting my sister, that my boyfriend had NEVER had pie before, so we stopped into Frontier to check out what was on the menu, as we had been told many times in the past that the pies are excellent. We had a few different types at our table, all of which were pretty good. I wasn't taken aback by any of the pies I had, but they wree all pretty good. I had the peanut butter chocolate, and it was decent, but I wanted more of a peanut butter flavor to it and less whipped cream on top. The crust was great. I usually hate crust on pies and how thick it is, and think it takes away from the delicious interior of the pie, but this place had a great crust. It's kinda run down and dark inside, but the staff is great and very friendly and helpful.

We come to Rexburg once a year. We always stop in here for the Navajo Tacos and pie. If you're a root beer fan, theirs is great. Our server was sweet. Hope this place is around forever.

Very average food and pies. The bacon is thick cut which is good. Nothing exceptional but nothing bad either. Hard to mess up your basic breakfast.

Best pies ever. Not a real big fan of the food. It isn't that tasty and it was a little expensive for what I ordered. But they get 5 stars on the pie. It is a nice little sit down place. Just wish the food had been a little better. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the country fried steak wasn't as tasty as other places.

I'm really surprised this place is still in buisness ??!! The last time I went there they tacked on a gratuity on our bill we had a large group. Instead of paying what we wanted in tip they made us pay what they thought the tip should be!! That didn't sit well with us!! The food has gone seriously down hill the service flat out sucks!! The manager at the time was a total and complete utter douche!! Use to love going here all the time but haven't been back for 3 or 4 years! Unless they've seriously changed??!!

The food was pretty good, the shrimp is a favorite of my grandma and brother. I love the Frontier Burger. The pies are also extremely delicious. We really loved our waitress, Kimberly. She was fun and extremely attentive! Thank you for a great lunch!

I don't know what in the world I was thinking coming to a frontier pies. Its kinda like when you go to denny's and you're thinking the whole time, "wait, why did i come here again?" you expect nasty food and just a crap restaurant but you go for some reason anyway. WELL DON'T. YOU WILL REGRET IT. No digs on the servers cause they dont have any responsiblity in the matter but the restaurant is just a really poorly managed place no matter what location you go to.

We read the negative reviews but decided to give it a shot. We were served well and the food was great. I got a mushroom burger and was very impressed. The restaurant may be in need of a renovation, but it was a nice country atmosphere. And the pie was very good.

This restaurant was very good in many ways. First of all, the waitress we had Kimberly, she was so funny and so nice. It made it so much better having her there, everything she said was really funny. The food was great, it all tasted wonderful and it got to our table fast. We did have pie at the end, we had cherry cheese cake and chocolate. The pie was really rich in flavor and tasted amazing. If I went back to where we were choosing our restaurant, I would not change where we went. Thank you!

I was actually really impressed with the quality of the food here. I had a burger the first time I went, and then the San Francisco club the second time, which was absolutely delicious. The thing that kills it for me is the prices. For one person, a meal, drink, and tip comes out to roughly $20! That meal should have been closer to $13. Sorry, but as a starving student on a college budget, I just can't afford to pay that. I'd only consider eating here again when I've got a bit of extra cash. To me, the prices is what gives this place two stars.

We arrived at this unassuming establishment with the sole, childlike purpose of obtaining a simple home style meal. The climax of this meal was destined in our minds to consist of the holy grail of desserts, namely, Pie. Upon seating, we were greeted by a dainty sprite of waitress, and our hopes were high. However, we soon came to the harsh realization that this night would not go as planned. We were only given two tiny mason jars for water, when there were clearly three adult sized personages in our company. Said water expired quickly, and we were left parched and alone for upwards of twenty long, excruciating minutes. Every waterless moment that passed in our secluded alcove of suffering not only dehydrated our bodies, but our faith in humanity. When our food finally arrived after much abdominal protestations, it was sub-par at best. With every mouthful the joyful light that once gleamed in our eyes faded as the dying stars in the heavens. We struggled through, clinging to the distant promise of salvation via crusted dessert, but alas, we were crushed again when our inattentive, neglectful caretaker broke the news. Despite its misleading title, there was only a single slice of the coveted confection in the entire establishment. And this single slice was nothing but a cruel mockery of what we had sought for so long. Sugar Free Apple Pie. Our souls wept, not only for ourselves, but for every disparaged, disappointed wanderer that has ever stumbled unwittingly into this farce of a culinary haven. The final blow to our already bloodied morale came as the bill was delivered. We had been led to foolishly believe that the special and all it advertised were included in the price listed. This was a lie. We were forced to pay an arm and a leg for the disgrace we had just ingested. We had been led like lambs to the slaughter, doomed to a terrible, unjust fate that our innocent minds could not have foreseen. We weep still, lost souls, damned to a pieless eternity. TL: DR ; Service sucked, food was meh at best, and there was not any pie left. Do not eat here if you have any self-respect.

The fries are really good. Their soup bread bowls are also good. I got the chicken strips and they were average. But everything else was good. We had the sour cream blueberry pie and it was delicious! Everything was fairly priced for the most part.

With a menu filled with classic comfort foods, Frontier Pies is one of the few good places in Rexburg for a business lunch. Its usually quite busy and seems especially popular with seniors. Nevertheless, as their name implies--it's really all about the pies. They have a huge selection of delicious and unique pies (more than 25 to choose from). In addition to all the typical standbys, they have local favorites like Jumbleberry, Sour-cream Blueberry, Peanutbutter Chocolate, and Strawberry Rhubarb. The Coconut Cream is also really outstanding. Many locals buy whole pies for the holidays or family events. They really do breakfast well--their skillet breakfasts are especially good. As for lunch and dinner, the menu is solid--if somewhat uninspiring. With hot open face roast beef and turkey sandwiches, burgers, soup & sandwich specials, chicken, and steaks, this is standard American fare and it's pretty good. The ambiance is country kitchen, with rough-hewn wooden booths named after small local towns. Most lunches with pie run about $10.00; dinners are well under $15.00. Just two pet peeves keep it from a 4th star: (1) I know the place has a country theme, but I'm not a big fan of drinking out of Mason jars--especially the tiny half-pint sized ones they use as water glasses; and (2) the portions are a bit on the smallish side for the price, especially for those of us who have ... how should I put it? ... healthy appetites.

Came in at 1530 3/14. They were out of all of the good pies.... They server was nice although he took a while to come by. We ended up leaving and not trying any of the less popular pies.

I went here for dinner with my family and the food was just ok. I was not that impressed and I felt it was a bit over priced for the quality and amount of food I received. The server was friendly and helpful, however we did wait a while for our food. The restaurant is a bit outdated and badly needs new flooring and honestly the carpet kind of grossed me out. One good thing I will say is their pie is amazing! I would go back just to get some pie.

Lol @ Nathaneal, being from California were used to good service, and if there is no good service and the place sucks we just find a different place. In california the managers actually care when bad service or crappy food happens. In idaho no one cares haha. Me and my girlfriend went here, I won't even comment on the service but for the last 3 years we still joke and laugh about how terrible the pie is. I'd rather stir some of my fresh poop into a pie shell, bake it and eat it.

Poor service, took an hour to get our food that was bland, over cooked, an lackluster at best. The waitress appeared overworked and frazzled.... My tip for her would be to go to college and leave Rexburg!

they were out of pie. frontier pies. no pie. The waitress was new so i'll forgive her for not knowing the menu well, but she was very eager to charge us extra. If we asked for anything special she would say ya I Think I can do that for a little extra. Two of us got cinnamon rolls for breakfast, we were told they were baking and would be fresh out for us soon. 30 minutes, no rolls. Then our server came out and told us it would be ten minutes because they were frosting them. 45 minutes after THAT (seriously, I was counting) there were still no rolls, and she was avoiding us. It doesn't take that long to frost a roll. So we left. Anywhere in California I would have expected free meals for a week from that kind of service. But they still charged us and everything.

This place is disgusting. The only thing worse is the hotel it's next to, which has evidently gone out of business.

Don't eat here. The food was terrible. I could've made better at home. We where there for breakfast and it was just bland and stale. The glasses also had little floaters in them waiting to greet us. Not to mention that my sisters glass had a huge chip on it. The server dropped off our food and was never seen again until we were ready to pay. It's funny how that works. Trust me, it's not worth your money.

Good pie, good food. I had the beef eater, and it was nice. Very rexburgian.

Frontier Pies offers good pie and a large collection of dusty frontier-themed artifacts (rustic furniture, wagon wheels, etc.). My food (a stir-fry) was not good, but my companions thought their meals (pot roast, mac and cheese, and nachos) were OK. Service was good.

I would not recommend Frontier Pies to anyone. Both times I've been there they had no pie, and one time a bobby pin was in my soup. Literally they only had 10% of their pies from the menu were available to order. There was a structural gap in the building that brought in the cold from outside, which made the cold soup even worse. Frontier Pies is not worth your time or money.
