We have gone here several times as well as had take out a number of times and in all cases the food has been excellent. It is well-prepared and the serving size is perfect. This is one of our go to places for dining out. My wife is vegetarian and they have a great selection for her and the Mongolian beef is my standard.

The food was pretty decent for Idahoan Chinese food. Their noodles were spot on and cooked well. Their orange chicken was a little strange. Food portions are really big. Two orders can easily feed three people, in my opinion. Staff was friendly, although the service was a bit slow. The group that came in after us were tended to before us, which sort of prevents me from giving them 5 stars. The best part of dining here: a family comes in, sits down, and then gets up and tells the waitress that it is "too hot in here". Sista, what do you expect when you go out to eat at a Chinese restaurant when it's 85 degrees outside? Do Chinese restaurants serve ice cream as an entree? No. They make HOT FOOD. What were you expecting when you walked into a restaurant that makes hot food? I guess it's hard to think when the sun is out.

This is a Mom/Pop Asian restaurant that really shines. The gentleman who seated us, served us and filled our drinks was polite and very courteous. The food was different from my typical Asian preferences, but delicious nonetheless. One thing I did like is they add the sauce over crispy chicken right before they bring out the dish. It keeps the crispy part crispy and the sauce hot. Win, Win, WIN!!! Very fair prices as well. We will go again.

The problem we seem to have is consistency. We don't seem to order as much anymore because we just are unsure of the quality for that day. I would definitely recommend this place, but I would say make the stop in on a Friday or Saturday when they keep fresh supply. The times we have ordered on the weekend it has been fresh and tasty.

My husband and I went to Coeur d'Alene for a mini getaway and he wanted Chinese food. Found Wah Hing's on Yelp and decided to check it out. It's about a 15 min. drive but was so worth it. We ordered the chicken low mein and sweet and sour pork. The food was delicious and the portions were large. We took home leftovers that we shared the next night. We are still talking about Wah Hing's, so yummy!!

Worst Chinese food I have ever tasted!!!! Nothing had tasted right. They can't even make the simple almond chicken right it isn't supposed to have yellow gravy on top. I bet if they learn how to make chinese food they might actually get more than 3 cars in their parking lot at one time.

Love this place! Our kids go to school in Rathdrum and this place is our "stop" after sports when everyone is hungry. The staff is friendly and fast. The portions are large. The lo mein and egg foo yung (sp)? are favorites.Take a drive to Rathdrum you wont be disappointed!

I have visited Wah Hing several times since it opened. I have never had bad service or bad food there. It is my all time favorite. House special low Mein is my favorite but haven't ever tried anything I didn't love.

I gave up trying to find good Chinese in our area a long time ago...and then someone mentioned how good this place was. I was very skeptical, but gave it a try. It really is the best. Big portions, fresh vegetables, perfectly fried foods, great prices and great service.

Very hardworking staff but the wait was very long (we waited almost an hour to eat) and the food quality wasn't good.

Variety, value and a nice simple, pleasant seating area that is clean and bright. Seating is a partial view of Rathdrum Mtn from the booth window seating, or booths along the interior wall with a row of tables between for further options. Also available is a banquet/meeting room for special occasions. Service was prompt and friendly with questions answered and suggestions made. Wah Hing has been a pleasant addition to Rathdrum, easily blending into the small town that so many enjoy.

We've been to this one and their other restaurant in a nearby county. I won't waste time on this "chinese" food. It has been consistently mediocre in service and taste and only barely resembles what anyone from outside the area thinks of as Chinese food. Save your money.

Here goes... We wanted Chinese food...good Chinese food. Turned to Yelp and, since we were already familiar with most the Chinese restaurants in the Inland Empire, we found Wah Hing. We hadn't been to Rathdrum for a while, so we decided to take a chance (and a drive). The closer we got, the more reviews we read. Here's our story: We were greeted and seated by friendly and courteous staff. Water and hot tea came promptly. After reviewing the menu, we decided on Vegetarian Egg Fu Yung and the Special Combination House Lo Mein. Wow! Generous portions of the best Chinese food I'd had in years--maybe in my lifetime! Seriously! And ample enough to take home some for later. (True confessions: Yes, I did hide it in the refrigerator. I didn't want anyone else beating me to it!). Well, we paid the bill, vowing to return. (And spent the next 6 days dreaming and talking about more of that yummy food.) When we couldn't stand it any more, we took the second journey to Rathdrum (21+ miles each way) IN A WEEK! This time we ordered Mu Shu Pork and Chicken with Black Bean Sauce. Sooooooooooooo good! There was such a generous portion of Mu Shu that I wished for extra pancakes and a little more hoisin. Here's the thing: the ONLY thing bad about Wah Hing is there is not one in close proximity! The food is great, the service is good and I can hardly wait for the next Wah Hing experience! I'm hooked on this oh-so-yummy food! Thanks! We'll be back!

Wow this place is great. I really like the Mongolian beef, and can't resist the Chow Mein with crunchy noodles. Very fresh and delicious. We live 45 miles away and look for excuses to go to Rathdrum just so we can eat here.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of this place. Easily the best Chinese in Kootenai County. Good prices, generous portions. Not overly greasy, and just tastes better than other places I've had nearby. Service was good. The decor and signage could use a little work.

Excellent, huge variety, worth the drive. Order enough to take home so the drive will reward you the next day. Many old style and modern chinese dishes. So ignore any negative rating since whoever did it did not grow up in San Francisco and knows what real chinese is!

I am from NYC. That means something because they have the best Chinese Food in NYC. This place is AWESOME! I challenge anyone to find a Chinese Restaurant in Idaho that is better than this. The service is always friendly. The food is always fresh. The prices are as good as any other Chinese restaurant in the area. People who comment about waiting 20 minutes, different change, well they don't know what they are talking about. Period. These are the hardest working people I have seen in a while. And it shows! A definite go - 5 stars.

When it comes to Chinese food. I am very picky on how it taste. Whenever I'm in town. I have to stop by at Wah hing. They've done an amazing job with their food. I've never been disappointed. I recommend getting their vegetable egg foo young and moo shu pancake. The egg foo young is made to order. So it comes out fresh and hot. If I were to do a combination dinner. I'd do number 12!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
