A sweet little place with a friendly staff and great food. Good portions - very affordable. Great little neighborhood place and they play great tunes too! The burgers and parm fries are awesome.

So I was cruising Yelp looking for something different for lunch today. I saw this place and had to try it as soon as I saw the photos of the burgers. I am always up for a good burger. I jumped in the car and drove from Cd'A to Rathdrum. I was surprised to find it in the gas station mini mall. I was pleased to find it was a clean, well decorated mini pub. We were greeted pleasantly and our menus and drink orders were taken. I was very hungry so I ordered the James Dean. Two 1/4 patties, double cheese, bacon, lettuce, pickle, onion and house sauce. I was not disappointed! A very tall, hot fresh burger arrived along with a good portion of fries. The toppings were all fresh and crisp and I could tell immediately that they used fresh burger. My absolute favorite part is they put a great sear on the burger that you so rarely get these days. That itself bumped it to 5 stars! On the way out I noticed a lunch special that was not in the menu. $4.99 for a cheeseburger and fries. It looked like a great portion size for lunch and you can't beat the price. I will be back to this little gem for sure.

Stopped in here with a Friend yesterday after reading several Yelp reviews. I'm a burger fiend, so whenever I hear of good burgers, I have to try it. This place makes good burgers. I had the Sinatra and I can't recall what my Friend had but it was some kind of grilled burger on sourdough bread. Both were delicious as were the onion rings. It's a tiny place and very quiet, so I felt like everyone in the room could hear everything I was saying, even though we were talking quietly. They ought to consider tearing out that store room area on one side and creating more seating space and open area. (Or perhaps the market out there wouldn't support that...?) They don't have tartar sauce.... Overall, these were good burgers and I will definitely return and try some of the other amazing things on the menu. This would be a really great stop on a road trip/motorcycle ride for a roadside burger and a frosty cold beer.

The food was delicious, the service left more to be desired. I stopped in here after a bike ride for a post ride burger. The food: The burger was exactly what I was wanting. A great combination of meat and veggies, and it held together really well. The fries were perfectly crispy and delicious. The service: I was the only person in here around 4 pm. I walked to the bar to place my order for my food and my beer, not a big deal. Once the food came out, the server never checked in on me to see how everything was. I don't require a lot of attention as far as service goes, but if your are someone who would be offended by not having an attentive server, this place may not be for you. Bottom line: The food was delicious and exactly what I wanted, I will definitely be coming back here.

Such an amazing place!!!! Looks can be deceiving and unfortunately I let looks deter me from trying this amazing food because of the location. It is amazingly clean, great services and most importantly the best burgers in the area (eastern Washington included) I can't wait to go back daily!!!!! Overall everything is simply amazing!!!

Great food that was a great price. Service was a bit slow and food took a long time. We didnt mind though. The place was busy for dinner the day we went. Great place to check out and we will be back.

Very friendly wait staff. Decorated with a lot of Elvis Presley, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe memorabilia and other stars of the 50s and 60s. I ordered The Sinatra burger it was absolutely excellent, the best part of the visit. The bun was fresh and delicious, hand cut romaine lettuce, not prepackaged or pre-shredded. Fresh tomatoes and onions. Some of the best bleu cheese I've ever received on a burger. Crispy delicious bacon. House sauce that appears to be just ketchup and mayo, but you can't go wrong with those. It was a grilled burger, had that real classic taste done right. Their fries are the classic crispy diner style with little seasoning, they just let the oil do the job and the food was piping hot and fresh. Their beer selection is quite impressive. The restaurant is small with very few tables, and when we came in around 6 PM on a Friday night they were a bit slow but already out of Onion Rings and Ham. The music is also a little bit low and sort of feel like you can't talk that freely. Sports on TV. A bar to sit at. Those are all some things to know about this place. The floor did seem a little bit dirty, also getting bottled drinks rather than endless fountain drinks in a glass is sort of something that will take getting used to. Other than that the 2 other people I went with ordered the chicken strips which were very reasonably priced and they said had no fat and pieces of gristle like other places' chicken strips and to me they did look very appetizing, the other person ordered The Marilyn Monroe burger and felt the same as I did about the burger being grilled and one of the best grilled burgers that you can get. Also, parking is a little tight next to the gas station. Overall if you're looking for a bar sort of feeling place, that's very friendly and something that can actually work for kids and you don't have to feel guilty about it, this is the place, two people that came in had babies and were very welcomed and it wasn't at all out of place. I'll be sure to check back again. I'd rate it just barely under a 4.

My husband and I were absolutely floored by the quality of the food at Penny's Pit. He had the Blue Hawaiian burger, I the John Wayne. Literally the best burgers we've ever had. I got a Yelp account just so I could write them a review because it is seriously THAT GOOD. If you're on the fence about where to go, jump right into Penny's Pit. I can assure you that we'll be back and you will as well once you've had one of those burgers!

The food and atmosphere here were great! We started out with the Chili Cheese fries, and then both had burgers. My husband had the Gosnan with fries, which was a MONSTER of a burger and is one of his new favorites. The fries were crispy and served piping hot. I had the Presley (mushroom/swiss) burger with a side salad. The burger was delicious and the side salad was huge! Definitely will be making this a regular spot!

Excellent food...we had the garlic parm fries and John Wayne burger (BBQ)...definitely go back

Best way to end the day after running around an amusement park all day (Silverwood). Had 5 hungry kids and 4 hungry and thirsty adults. Got there 40 mins before they close and they we experienced the best service from the husband and wife team and we stayed past closing. Good was great, had the riveter sandwich. Excellent!! Kids meals were great and priced below a happy meal. Will be back the next time we are in town.

Wow! The burgers are barbecued, not grilled. The flavor was amazing and the prices were great. I had the Sinatra with bacon and blue cheese. Yum!!
