My husband and I were visiting Lava Hot Springs from California and we drove all the way to Pocatello to have dinner here. Service is definitely awkward but the food was worth it. We started with the chicken satay which was good. The peanut sauce is amazing and is what made the dish a must-try. For entrees we ordered the green curry (without eggplant) which was a 2-3 on the spiciness level. It was delicious and the perfect amount of spice. We also ordered the pineapple fried rice (no raisins-everything is made to order, which is nice) and it was also very tasty. The server told us it was a 2 on the spicy scale but it had no spice in my opinion. Portion sizes are great; we couldn't even finish all the food. Definitely happy that we decided to try this place. 5 stars because the food is great. Service does not affect food quality, but they were all very nice and kept checking on us.

Got my red curry again and as usual, it was really great. The breaded calamari sticks though are terrible. They look like something from the frozen section at the super market and the taste wasn't good either. I'd strongly avoid them. For more info read my past reviews.

Food was fine, but 5-star spice rating was NOT 5-star heat..more like 2.5. It doesn't separate itself from the other thai restaurants in town. I'll probably eat there again, but only because it is on my way home from work. I do give them credit for knowing that soy sauce has gluten in it, so kudos for that.

We went for a lunch date today, and let the waitress know it was our first time here. She was wonderful! She have us suggestions on dishes and we went with her suggestions: chicken pad Thai with a side of peanut sauce and the house special curry. Both were excellent, but wowsers the pad Thai was amazing! Super glad she suggested the side of peanut sauce since that sealed the deal! I know some were complaining about the service but our waitress, Skylar, was great. We'll be back.

Many restaurants of this genre seem to subscribe to the nominalist mentality, of getting buy with the food just good enough to garner return customers. The mentality at Thai Kitchen, from our experience, is far different. Every dish, and every bite, is seasoned optimally for maximum flavor and a complete culinary experience. Every bite of every dish that we've tried, is full of flavor. If you like bland, don't come here, or you'll have to reassess your commitment to bland. :) We have tried many items from their menu, but keep coming back to the Cashew Chicken, which is absolutely superb! We have yet to try anything we didn't thoroughly enjoy. There are times when the wait for service may not meet our timeline, but the quality of the cuisine always more than compensates. We've never regretted taking a few extra minutes to get the kind flavor and quality food that Thai Kitchen delivers up every time we've gone.

We go to Thai Kitchen quite often. They can usually get us right in and take our order in a reasonable time. They have a huge menu. I like the Shrimp Pad Thai mildly spicy. The service isn't top notch, but it is very adequate for this type of eatery. Don't expect 5 star service, but they make up for it in the food. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Great food and service here! The food comes out hot and the flavors are pretty spot on. I've had a lot of thai food back in Cali. and have travelled through Thailand, and this food is not bad at all. Staff has always been friendly and I love their pad see ew and red curry. Spice level depends on the actual dish but 4/5 has never been so spicy that the food is inedible. This is definitely my go-to Thai place in Pocatello!

I don't drive through town without stopping here. Surprisingly great Thai food for a smaller town. My favorite: Massaman Curry + Mango Sticky Rice.

Very nice quality Thai style food not too chain style quality but could use some work no specials no attempt at original dishes. Lunch specials $7 comes with better then average egg drop soup. No soup with basic dinner entrees

We went here for lunch, it's in an old Dairy Queen place, so the seating is very few. I got the lunch special, but never received my rice and soup. The entree (pad Thai) was delicious. The service all around was pretty awful. I understand it's lunch time, but I would never go to sit down there again.

Total agree with other reviewers. Great food..loved the Cashew nut Chicken. The tall dark haired waiter was a bit weird. They are defiantly understaffed during dinner service. Their 4 out of 5 star hot is only semi warm. But GREAT food!!

Large portions, flavorful dishes, and a great option for take out. The House Special Curry is fantastic and we also really enjoy the Pad Thai. Haven't been disappointed with a visit yet.

Pretty good. Travelling on I-15 and got off for gas and a quick bite. Ordered the green curry with chicken, spice level medium, to go. It was prepared within 15 minutes which I thought was reasonable given that it was dinner time. To their credit, they nailed the spice level perfectly and the curry had the distinct flavor elements that characterize Thai food (sweet, salty, creamy, spicy). However, it tasted like they used pre-made curry paste out of a jar (instead of making their own), the chicken was overcooked, and there were not a lot of different vegetables -- mostly green pepper slivers. With a little more effort, this dish could have been better. Then again, you must take into account that you are in Eastern Idaho. This is not bad for Eastern Idaho and it's certainly popular with the locals.

There are limited options for dinner on a Sunday night in Pocatello, so we were happy to find the Thai Kitchen on Yelp. We were hoping for the weird dark haired waiter we read about but the only dark haired waiter we saw didnt seem odd and wasn't assigned to our table. The menu had a decent selection, and we were asked to select the level of spiciness we wanted on a scale of 1-5. Level 2 was pretty mild for a timid spicer like myself; my husband found level 3 to be perfect. Decent dinner experience for $20 pre-tip.

I've had the green curry, yellow curry, and chicken pad Thai. The curries were above average. Many restaurants serve curries with excessive bell peppers and/or watery sauce. Thai Kitchen's sauce has good flavor, doesn't appear to be watery, and their ingredient mix seems well thought out. The chicken pad Thai is a little sweet and does not come with a semi-traditional lime wedge, but regardless it is now the best pad Thai in town since Thai Paradise changed management. In my opinion the food quality is very good for Pocatello and about average for Thai restaurants nationally.

My wife and I wanted to try something new and we heard that Thai kitchen was awesome so we took a chance and tried Thai kitchen for our 12th anniversary dinner. my wife loves their pineapple fried rice and I love their pad Thai and their curries their food is fresh and very tasty and seasoned really well. Since then we've eaten there multiple times and have always enjoyed our meal there are a lot of regulars that also eat there and it always makes for good conversation during dinner if you're into that if not they have quiet corners for you to enjoy their food I definitely recommend this restaurant.

A friend and I were passing through on the way south. We stopped due to the reviews and because we both wanted Thai food. We are both vegetarians and are very used to fresh and high quality eats. I had the pad Thai with tofu and it was literally the best I have ever had. My friend had cashew curry with tofu and vegetables. He loved it too. I would definitely eat here again, and may stop again as we head back up north. It was great!

Absolutely amazing House Special Curry (at a level #3 it's pretty warm but you can taste all the yummy flavors!). Great potstickers and satay appetizers and my favorite dessert is the sticky rice with mango!

We lovelovelove Thai Kitchen in Idaho Falls. I was pretty sad when we moved away from IF and closer to the Pocatello area. So when I heard that the Thai Kitchen in IF owners were opening a location in Poky, I was unbelievably happy. We got takeout from TK the day after it opened. We ordered our favorite, the House Curry. Seriously, if you haven't tried it, you need to. It is both my and my husband's favorite food. Ever. It's an amazing, creamy, savory & sweet dish that tastes like nothing else you've ever had. Everytime we order it, we just go on and on to each other about how delicious it is while we're eating it. I've tried the yellow and green curry as well, and they are great. But the House Curry triumphs all. Thai Kitchen is a wonderful restaurant that serves authentic cuisine, which is hard to find in this area! Please please please frequent this restaurant so that it stays open forever!

Had the yellow curry. Tasty and abundant portion. Comes with rice. On a spicy scale of 1-5, I ordered a 3, but wasn't that spicy (should have ordered a 4). They had run out of thai iced tea (waiter said he thought it did not taste good, so he threw it away, which I guess is good), so he suggested iced thai coffee, which was only a-ok. White waiter was nice and helpful, but kept bowing every time he talked to customers, which got a bit annoying (racist me, if he had been Asian it would have been ok I suppose). Clean bathrooms.

First off, our visitor from Colorado just isn't familiar with how any new Pocatello restaurant is absolutely mobbed for the first month or three. "Poor-to-bad" service is about the best anyone can expect during this standard breaking-in period. The five-star reviews were not bribed, they simply took this fact into account. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I can get on with my review: I was a regular and delighted customer of the Thai House in Idaho Falls for years. Imagine my disappointment, then, when I discovered that the Thai House had changed hands when I took my son there on Independence Day this year. The food at the new restaurant was, simply put, not good. Bland. Tasteless. And when it comes to Thai food, that constitutes a Mortal Sin. That's right, capital 'M', capital 'S'. Now, imagine if you will, my utter elation when, after waiting the obligatory several weeks for a tiny bit of the new-restaurant insanity to die down, I paid a first visit to the Thai Kitchen and learned that, not only is their food top-notch delicious, but the former owner of the Thai House in Idaho Falls was running the place. He was even, at that very moment, slaving away over a wok back in the eponymous kitchen. He it was who had prepared my delectable entrees. My personal favorites are their Pad Thai with chicken and Panang Curry with beef. I range from 3 to 5 on spiciness, depending on how adventurous I'm feeling. Tuning the spiciness of food to order is an inexact science at best, so I allow for some inconsistency, especially in the mid-range. However, Thai Kitchen's 5 always manages to knock my socks off in the best of ways, and I say that as someone who has eaten habañeros straight off the plant. I know it's perfect when I get that involuntary sheen of perspiration just under my eyes. Bottom line: I am overjoyed to be able to get some of the best Thai food anywhere (I grew up in San Diego and have lived abroad, so I'm not indulging in small-town-mindset hyperbole when I say that) without having to leave Pocatello. What's not to love about that?

Good food, service is getting better. I sure like their bbq chicken and drunken noodles.

Not sure if I agree with the glowing reviews here! Food is very mediocre, atmosphere in the restaurant is sub-par as well, there is hardly any room. Menu doesn't have enough options. As for the customer service, it is the worst! First thing, the waitress could not grasp what we asked of her and was going around in circles and on top of that, she started asking us inappropriate personal questions and passing comments on us thinking it was all "hilarious". She was very rude. I have decided to never come back to this place again. Such a bad experience!

I stopped by Thai Kitchen for lunch and tried out their pork pad Thai. Yum! Super delicious, even better that my go-to Thai place back in Austin. "Medium" heat was more like "mild" to my Texas taste buds, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment of the dish at all. The service was super-friendly and I may stop by here again while I'm in town.

Would give the food a 4 star and the service and cleanliness a 1 or 2 star. The waiters were arguing and where we sat could see right into the prep/kitchen area, not good.

The tofu pho is a win, and I love that you can order almost anything on the menu with tofu instead of meat. However, I recommend that you order your meal to go because eating in isn't a very good experience. The service is not only sub-par, but the workers are just plain inappropriate. One of the waitresses spent about 20 minutes telling the table next to us all about how the manager hits her when she screws up, while a guy in the back of the house burped so loud it resounded through the whole place. They should probably play some music just to give the place a more comfy feel, but maybe they should turn it up extra loud to cover up the disaster that is their incompetent staff.

Food is great, my favorites are the Curries and Pad Thai. If you decide on dessert, Mango with Sticky Rice is delish. The only thing I would change is the staff and service. They are nice, mean well, they are trying their best, but a little disorganized and scatterbrained. But if you want good Thai good, just get it to go!

Who's paying these people for the five star reviews? I waited ten minutes to be seated and was ignored by the two young ladies behind the counter. And while I was waiting a customer walked up to them to say that his party had been waiting fifteen minutes and hadn't received their water yet. Another customer walked to the counter to ask how much longer before the food came. Bad omens so I left. The atmosphere was horrible anyway - bright lights and cramped dining area. And the smells coming from the kitchen were in pleasant, like rotten cabbage. Run away!! I did.
